Re: RP: Is Two Too Much?

Zelpharia: Well that particular phenomena is possible but it's
more common when its the same matter occupying the exact same
space. Time lord regeneration is actually a type of instant
reincarnation and not the same as the previous incarnation. Thus
a current timeline Time Lord or Lady can safely work with past
and future incarnations of ourselves as each incarnation is
technically different matter even though we're all the same
person. She says with a pleasant smile and begins walking
towards her TARDIS without even batting an eyelash at its
port-a-potty form. Zelpharia: That's the simplest way to explain
the timey-wimey details. Oh and please excuse Tara's appearance,
but I think her chameleon chip is on the fritz.
Jack steps next to Malcolm and gives him an after you gesture.
Jack: I've learned one thing as a time agent and working with
Time Lords which is they tend to defy some laws of temporal
physics that we've been taught. His voice isn't jocular but a
friendly and truthful tone.

Merlyn: I once worked with a speedster trying to find a way to
keep existing because he got erased from the timeline. At one
point, people trying to stop him worked with past versions of
themselves and it caused major issues. So yeah... I'm used to
complicated timeline mechanics and people not following the
natural laws. He explains before walking toward the TARDIS.
Zelpharia might know what Merlyn was talking about, as a group
of humans in a current timeline did interact with past versions
of themselves and nearly collapse their timeline before groups
that protect the timelines managed to mostly contain the damage
they did.

Jack: I've worked cases for the Time Agency involving that kind
of incident. Jack says as he walks next to Malcolm Jack: A
bitch of a thing to stop.
Zelpharia: Erasing oneself is only for temporal twins and only
one possible side effect if you interact with your younger or
older self. The other effect is that the temporal twins create a
temporal paradox bubble. That's an even bigger headache to fix.
She says as she opens the door to Tara and reveals the
impossibly larger interior of the main control deck. The decor
can only be described as steam punk meets Star Trek with a
circular center control console and one wall covered in more
monitors and control panels can be seen from the open doorway.
Zelpharia steps in and to the side along the wall. Zelpharia:
You always have to figure out how to get inside the paradox and
then convince the source of the paradox that nothing inside the
paradox is part of the real time line. Many are stubborn because
the paradox is created when person tries to prevent a past
severe trauma that happened to themselves.

Merlyn: Well, as long as I'm not gonna erase myself, I guess.
Speedster I worked with was a walking paradox and apparently
created time remnants of himself, as long as I don't end up
doing that to myself, I'll be fine. I've tried to avoid time
travel to avoid things like that. That stuff is beyond my
understanding. He says with a shrug.

Zelpharia: Well I can understand that as a good reason for
avoiding time travel, but staying in one time period can get so
boring sometimes to someone like myself. She says with a smile
and walks over to the command console as she waits for Jack and
Merlyn step on board. Zelpharia: Of course, I also have a bit
more understanding of time than many other species and can
safely say that it is one big headache to understand and
sometimes to explain. She telepathically tells Tara to prepare
scanner systems. Zelpharia: But enough of time travel and
possible consequences, I'm far more interested in learning more
about this situation with you and Jack. I've only heard reports
and studied such phenomena in my life so far. Never did I
imagine that I would ever get to experience this.. probably
because I figured Jack was a one of a kind.
The last part of Zelpharia's comment makes Jack laugh a bit as
he and Merlyn approach the TARDIS. Jack: Looks like I'm not, but
I'm definitely the one who broke the mold.

Merlyn: I knew there were many dimensions and alternate
timelines... But I didn't know stuff like reincarnation was a
thing. He says, looking to Jack.

Jack: In all honesty, I didn't think it was either until I
started working for the Time Agency and met people like
Zelpharia. He says to Malcolm as they walk on board of
Zelpharia's TARDIS. Jack: And well.. meeting you kind of puts
more credibility to the possibilities of reincarnation as well.
Zelpharia: Though technically Jack is probably the last
reincarnation of you, Malcolm, if he is a full reincarnation
since he doesn't stay dead and doesn't really age anymore.
Zelpharia says as she begins hitting buttons and preparing to
investigate Jack and Malcolm more closely.
A holographic projection of a bright smiling woman with blond
hair and green eyes in a sun dress appears. This is the
projection of Zelpharia's TARDIS own consciousness and the
hologram looks incredibly real. She smiles brightly to
Zelpharia, Jack, and Malcolm. Tara: I see the dinosaur mission
has lead to meeting a new friend.. and one that looks so much
like Captain Harkness. How an unusually delightful experience!
She claps her hands together with a bright smile at having a
guest on board.
Zelpharia: Yes.. yes, this is Malcolm Merlyn and a possible
ancestor to Jack. Zelpharia says without looking to Tara's
holographic projection as she continues to type away at the
center command console. Tara, can you begin scanning both Jack
and Malcolm while I pull up the family tree from the Universal
Library?
Tara: Of course I can, Zeph! She says happily as she walks up to
both Malcolm and Jack while beginning scans of their physiology
and spirit/soul energies. Tara: Hello, Mr. Malcolm Merlyn. I
promise that my scan will be painless. Would you like a spot of
tea or perhaps some other refreshment? My food replicators are
programmed with over 500 drink specialties from 50 different
planets including Earth so I can literally provide anything.

Tara: Very well. Just let me know if you need anything. She says
with a bright smile. As she talks, a scanner ray glides over
both Jack and Malcolm. Tara gets a surprised expression on her
face. Tara: Well this is interesting. I'm going to have to
analyze this information closer.
As Tara scans the guys, Zelpharia pulls up and displays the
entire Merlyn family tree starting with Malcolm's and Jack's
earliest ancestor. She then starts cross referencing the boys
appearance with the family tree. She's grateful that the
Universal Library is so detailed with the help of Time Lords.
She then gets a more studious look as matches begin to pop up.
Zelpharia: I am starting to see an interesting and improbable
pattern, gentlemen.

Merlyn has a thought as they work. Merlyn: Is it gonna be a
problem for me to know about my own future and my descendants?
That's not going to interfere with your friend's past, is it? He
says to Zelpharia curiously.
