Karasu then walks over to Hei and kneels next to him. She then
places a hand on his fluffy head and scratches behind his ears.
Karasu: A very good reason why I'm glad that you're here. Good
to see you, Hei. So how mad is mom and dad?
Victor sits quietly for a moment and chuckles softly a bit as
Karasu scratches Hei's head.

Hei sits still, letting Karasu scratch behind his ears. Hei:
Right now, everyone's more worried about whether or not you're
alive. I haven't reported back yet since I got here, so the old
man and mother don't know anything about what's going on.

Karasu: Then perhaps it's best if we go home like Victor and I
talked about earlier. No need to keep everyone worried or keep
the following b*tt chewing delayed. She then sighs and rests her
hand on Hei's back. Karasu: I wasn't trying to run away, Hei. I
just.. well.. got caught up in feeling something that I've never
really felt with anyone else. I'm sure you can understand that,
and hopefully mom and dad will too once I fully explain myself
and introduce them to Victor.
Victor remains quiet as he watches the two interact. In his
younger days, he wouldn't have been so respectful. Age has given
him that education and knowledge. Plus he doesn't feel like
experiencing any other elements that Darkfires are known for
wielding after seeing what Karasu can do.

Hei stretches and gets up before responding to Karasu. Hei:
Trust me... I know better than anyone. I take it mother and the
old man never told you the story of what happened when I married
Cinder. Let's just say, I almost ended up leaving the family and
the old man and I came to blows over it. It's lucky one of us
didn't wind up dead. Mother particularly hates every version of
Cinder Fall after at least 7 versions of her have tried to steal
her powers, and the old man did not like me marrying someone
from the Order, let alone a version that also tried once to take
mother's power. I stayed away for some time, especially after
Kendra was born. He looks to Victor for a moment before
addressing both of them. Luckily, I don't think it will come to
that for you. I already fought those battles, so Mother and the
old man learned not to get too controlling with our love lives
because it only drives us away. I think you'll both be fine as
long as you're honest about your relationship and don't try to
hide it like I did with mine. You don't want to have to earn
back the old man's trust like I've been having to. It's not fun.
I don't think he'll ever fully trust me again.

Karasu: I never knew that you went through all that when you
married Cinder. I mean I knew that mom's never been fond of
Cinder, but I didn't know about that. That also explains why dad
seems to be tougher on you than the rest of us too. She then
looks to Victor and smiles softly. Karasu: We definitely plan on
being honest as I really don't want to deal with the
consequences of hiding my relationship.
Victor: Especially since I like my hide right where it is. It's
a real pain regenratin' skin. He says with a bit of humor and
seriousness. Victor has had to completely regenerate his skin
back before and really doesn't want to go through that again. He
then stands up and heads to go outside. Victor: If we're gettin'
ready to get back to civilization, then I'm gonna say bye to our
friends real quick.
Karasu: Alright, Victor. She then looks back to Hei. Karasu: I
think I'm more nervous about mom and dad bringing up my luck
with men. Remember the last guy wasn't the greatest and turned
out to not be trustworthy. David pulled the old double agent
move on us because he was using me to get to close to the
family. I don't think dad will let me forget how David tried to
set us up for an ambush by some of our enemies.

Hei: Well... As long as Victor is trustworthy, then I'm sure it

Karasu: Considering how many chances he's had to hurt or kill me
yet actually treated me quite well. Come to think about it. He's
treated me better than the others ever have. So I believe he's
trustworthy even if a bit crudely blunt. She says with a
thoughtful look.
Once outside, Victor raises his thumb and middle finger to his
mouth and lets a series of whistles. The local wolf pack comes
out of the woods and happily surround him. He laughs a bit as he
kneels and greets them. Victor: A'right.. I'm happy ta see ya
too, but I'll be goin' away with the little lady and 'er kin.
We'll try ta visit when we can. The pack seems to understand him
and all react with whines and rubs against Victor.

Hei: Well... So am I usually. He says in response to Raven's
comment about Victor being crudely blunt. Something him and
Victor had in common. He walks outside, wincing as Victor
whistled. Ow... He says his enhanced hearing hurting a little at
Victor's call to the wolves. One of the downsides to his wolf
form was his enhanced senses, which could be used against him.
Once he was outside, he makes sure to keep his tail lowered and
keeps his head lowered around the other wolf pack. Those that
knew much about wolves knew that this was a wolf's way of being
submissive, as Hei was using it as a way to show to show respect
to the wolf pack since he figured they would likely see him and
probably think he was a threat. Normally Hei wouldn't submit to
anyone, but in this case, he didn't want the other wolves to
think he was trying to challenge them right before they left,
especially since they had befriended Karasu and Victor.

The pack all stop their bonding with Victor to look at Hei in
the submissive posture. They go into more aggressive stances but
not as aggressive as earlier. Victor has his hand on one of the
wolves and keeps a calm vibe as he looks to where the pack is
focused. Victor: Easy. He's family.
The alpha of the pack approaches Hei with a dominant posture.
He's leery at first as he approaches Hei and begins to sniff him
as Karasu walks out after standing up. The alpha slowly circles
Hei while he sniffs Hei's scent. Once satisfied that Hei is not
a threat, the alpha wags his tail in welcome and takes a
friendlier posture, signaling to the others who relax. Though
such an acceptance isn't a typical maneuver for wolves, this
alpha has spent enough time around Karasu to recognize that Hei
is her pack by scent. He then takes a seat next to Hei just to
make sure none of the others mess with Hei.
Karasu: I'm going to miss these guys after we leave. It's been
exhilarating hunting reindeer with them. She says as the alpha's
mate walks up to her and begins rubbing and whining. Karasu
gives her a pat on the head with a smile. Karasu: But I can
leave the pack a much nicer place to raise this spring's cubs.
She thinks with a smile.

Hei just waits as Karasu says goodbye to the group. He tries to
stay silent, but keeps his tail down and his head lowered just
to avoid any conflict.
