Caleb makes a small hand gesture to the group, signaling them to
get ready to return to base.

Pride: "Good. I'll talk to y'all when you get back. Pride out."
He then hangs up the phone as he pours another vodka punch for
Boris.
M: Oh it's worse than I thought. Pride is going to yell at us in
person. M says sarcastically as he follows Caleb back out to the
parking lot where the cars are parked.

Back in New Orleans, Pride paces in front of Theo, Caleb,
Eleanor, and M. He looks mad but in a controlled manner. Pride:
Okay. Let me this straight. Not only did Darkov escape after
causing hundreds of dollars of damages, but one of you forgot to
handcuff his partner so they could escape. Pride grabs his
coffee cup and takes a sip. Pride: So now I have to explain to
General Pilgrim and Florida SCIS what happened. And to top it
off, I'm playing party host to a UNIT witness protection program
subject who's been compromised. Now where exactly should I not
be upset?
M goes to speak but goes quiet when Pride gives him a stare. He
can already see the conversation that Pride will have with Peggy
about this.
Boris drinks his vodka but does speak up. Boris: They are not to
blame. Darkov must have found me through my lavish lifestyle.
They only come to this old bear's rescue. Right, kids?

Ellie, Caleb and Theo remain silent as Pride talks to them like
a disappointed parent. Although Ivan spoke up, Ellie decide to
speak first.
Ellie: A lot was going on, Pride. We were more focused on
getting the civilians out of the area along with making sure
that Darkov doesn't escalate things that may have resulted in
the deaths of God knows how many.
Theo: There's also more to it. That guy, Adrik. I don't think
he's as bad as we think.
Caleb: Taz...
Theo: Just hear me out. Adrik is this Darkov's second in
command, right? But he's the reason why Ivan managed to escape
in one piece without Darkov even knowing. He even helped us with
evacuation and stopping Darkov. What does that tell you?
Ellie: Okay, so he's a criminal with a code. That doesn't give
him a pass. Especially since he still works with a psychopath
with a notorious rap sheet and a body count in the hundreds.
Caleb: And that's just low balling it.
Theo: Maybe so, but I remembered what he also said when I
mentally cooled down. The real reason why he fled is because he
didn't want to risk being taken back to Weapon X. You guys know
how Weapon X is. They'll do anything to get what they want. In
his position, I would've done the same thing.
Ellie: Theodore, this is different. You and the others were
kids. Hell, you guys still are. Adrik and Darkov are adults.
They made their choice.
Theo: They probably didn't have much of a choice. Especially if
they were younger.
Ellie: Okay, why the hell are you defending them? They don't
deserve it!
Theo: I'm not! Darkov can roast in Hell for all I care!
Caleb: And Adrik? You're pretty defensive about him and he's not
innocent either.
Theo: I don't know. It's like a feeling. Some sort of
connection. I don't know how to describe it but I feel like he
was looking out for me. For us. Look, I know that he needs to be
stopped. And I will stop him when I see him next time. It's
just... hopefully we can figure something out without involving
Weapon X and most of the DoD.
Caleb frown lightly while Ellie exhale sharply through her nose,
showing her being lightly frustrated. This does make sense since
she was fighting for her life during her fight with Darkov, not
to mention that her body is still sore from her fight with
Darkov, especially her left side where her ribs are. Both Ellie
and Caleb knows where Theo is coming from. Weapon X is one of
the worst places to be. But there are also some who were Weapon
X who were bad to begin with. The place just made them worse.
Darkov is a prime example of that.

Pride runs a hand through his hair and sighs in frustration as
he takes a seat and then sips his coffee. Pride: Hey, hey, hey!
Alright. So Darkov and Adrik were damaged by the Weapon X
program and didn't want to risk going back. I'll be honest. I
agree with Theo. I would've done the same thing as Adrik. Still
doesn't excuse the fact that no one handcuffed Adrik. I'll think
of a good excuse to give Pilgrim about how Darkov got away. Now
to figure out what to do with the Russian Bear while he waits
for a new witness protection assignment.
Ivan: I will be honest. I do not wish to hide from Darkov
anymore. I am too flamboyant to keep hiding. I want to enjoy New
Orleans before I go back to Mother Russia. He says with a bit of
a determined grin. He then takes a sip of his drink.
Pride: We'll see what Pilgrim says.
Ivan: General Pilgrim will not have a say in my life. I will not
hide from Darkov. I do not know how I will protect my arse, but
I will not keep hiding.

Caleb: Well, Darkov messed up Ellie pretty bad. Not to mention
the whole anti-power thing he had going on. We could say that
Adrik moved too fast for us to grab him, using our wounded
bodies to his advantage.
Theo: To Ivan: Yeah, not sure what Old Man Pilgrim would say
about that. As much as I support you, we should think this
through. Darkov riled up the people of Florida for laughs and
saw Ellie as a new toy to play with. God knows what he'll do if
he finds out that you're here with us.
Caleb: He'll rip Louisiana a new assh*le.
Ellie: He'll rip SCIS a new assh*le. Us four especially since we
were the ones responsible for keeping Ivan away from him. And I
am not looking forward to fighting that psychopath again.

Pride: I agree that injury and speed is a good explanation for
the escape. As for Darkov coming back, we can hope that he won't
find Ivan as long as the old bear lays low in our care. James
definitely won't let Ivan just go off on his own that I also
agree with. He says to the group. He then looks at Ivan. Pride:
Sorry, Ivan.
Ivan: No apology needed, friend. I know how your general is.
Ivan says and then takes a sip of his drink.
M: What if we helped Ivan get ahold of a group in Russia called
Bra.. Brava.. Bratva? M says in a eureka moment of memory as he
remembers what Adrik told him and Theo. M: They can't be that
bad.

Ellie: I've heard about the Bratva.
Theo: Really? Was it back at your assassin days?
Ellie: Yeah, the leader they have now is better than the
previous one. I can get into contact with one of their members
and arrange a few things so they can keep Ivan safe.
Caleb: Know anyone willing to lend us a hand?
Ellie: Actually, yes. I met her last month in the Vampire
Theatre. She helped me with a case with the warlock gang.

Pride: Well if you can get a hold of Bratva before Jim sends
some people to come and pick up Ivan then you guys can get him
to this Bratva. That at least takes the destruction
possibilities back to Russia. Pride says as he finally takes a
seat and tries to relax some. He sips his coffee.
Ivan: Then let us get to getting me back to Moscow! Until then,
I think I'll enjoy a little of New Orleans scenery.
Pride and M: No!
Pride: Not without someone to escort you. I'll put Reggie and
LaSalle on babysitting duty. He says with conviction and then
sips his coffee. Pride: Eleanor needs a break to heal.
M: Ivan would be better off staying here or at my lab but not
wandering the streets of New Orleans. I don't care if he has 12
escorts. Easier to protect him with Ivan keeping a very low
profile. He says with just as much conviction and determination.
