COMMUNITY SPECIAL RACE: Vizoreds (also soemtimes spelled
Visored, Vizard), Partial Hollows (Mortal Equivalent of
Vizoreds) and Fullbringers (Mortals with unique powerset gained
from hollow corruption)
"A zanpakuto and a hollow mask. He says as he holds up his
zanpakuto and motions to his hollow mask with his other hand.
Get it now? I'm a soul reaper... that crossed in the realm of
the hollows" - Shinji to Ichigo (Olympus Universe)
"I cannot deny this hollow... It is a part of me. And a part of
me it will stay. I won't run from it, and if it won't do what I
want, then I will face it down and beat it's will on my own." -
Zandrick Darkfire (Olympus Universe) about his inner hollow
"Hollowfication... It affects different races differently. Most
gain power from it. Your friend, the soul reaper, would be
considered a vizored before his full hollowfication. I am what
people call a Fullbringer... Which is a fancy term for a mortal
with hollow abilities manifested differently from how vizoreds
and arrancars manifest their hollow power, though it is very
similar." - Fomoire (Olympus Universe) explaining how his

Main Bio: There are many who are familiar with hollows and the
corrupted spirit nature they represent. Hollows are known to be
creatures of extremely powerful spirit energy created from human
souls who are corrupted by the living world's energies, usually
created from negative emotions with the most common being
regret, fear, and even anger. Normally hollows become corrupted
as they fall into negative emotional states and eventually their
nature changes completely once the corruption has fully taken
hold of them. Death wraiths and soul reapers that fight hollows
know how dangerous they can be, and know how dangerous hollows
are to the living world's balance of life and death. Since
hollows often will eat souls, they become a dangerous threat
that must be dealt with. Once hollowfication sets in, it becomes
an almost permanent corruption of the soul, most of the time
erasing the old self and turning the person into a corrupted
version of themselves. There are few ways of changing a hollow
back into a human soul after the corruption completely takes
over, and most of the time it requires spirit purification of a
soul reaper sword or a death wraith soul sword (which kills the
hollow and sends the soul to the afterlife).
Vizored Bio: Normally it is only humans who become hollows due
to other creatures having different natures (such as werewolves
with an already cursed nature cannot usually gain hollow powers
since they're already cursed nature in another manner), though
there are rare cases of other types of creatures becoming
hollows or gaining hollow power. It is rare for other creatures
to become hollows, but the most rare type of hollowfication is
what happens when a death wraith or a soul reaper gains hollow
power. Soul reapers or death wraiths who gain hollow power have
come to be known as Vizoreds, a term granted to them by soul
reapers in some universes that Death and Toranoraos started
using to name the unique types of hollows. Typically, vizoreds
are often cast out of soul reaper and death wraith cultures if
they appear to have hollow power, with only a few exceptions
(Those kept around are usually only kept around for study). Once
ostracized from their respective communities, death wraiths and
soul reapers with hollow power will usually either fall into one
of two states. The first is that they must learn to control the
hollow power, or the second is that they may fall prey to the
hollow state and become a permanent hollow. Thanks to a group of
soul reapers who gained hollow powers, and a few rare death
wraiths who have trained up vizored powers, there are now
records among the death wraiths and soul reapers how to learn to
control their hollowfication. There are two main methods
vizoreds use to control their hollowfication, referred to as
conquered vizoreds and combined vizoreds for the two known
training paths that have been recorded for vizoreds to learn to
control their hollow power.
The first method is by conquering the hollow within, and making
the power of the hollow their own. In this methods, the soul
reaper or death wraith fight their inner hollow and defeat it in
battle. These types of vizoreds are known as conqueror vizoreds
(known for conquering their hollow). During this battle, the
vizored not only has to defeat the inner hollow, but they must
also conquer the side of the personality the hollowfication
takes on (as it takes on the more suppressed side of a person's
personality). For example, in the Olympus universe, Ichigo
Kurosaki originally conquered his hollow side (Before his full
hollowfication against Ulquiorra) by acknowledging his fears and
doubts, and embracing his killer instinct his inner hollow
embodied. This is best used for those with uncontrollable
hollows or particularly powerful hollows that cannot be
controlled by normal means, since it removes the hollow as a
threat to the person's self (unless something happens and forces
the hollow back to the surface). The advantage to this is that
those that use this rarely ever lose control of their hollow,
even in fatal situations (with only a few known exceptions to
this). The only downsides to this power is that users of this
cannot use hollow power for too long and this is not as powerful
as the second method, as the vizored cannot access the full
hollow power since part of their power becomes dedicated to
containing and drawing on the hollow power.
The second method of controlling a hollow is by uniting with it,
in which the soul reaper or death wraith choose to share a body
with the hollow (usually under an agreement that they work
together to survive) since usually it is more beneficial for the
vizored to work with their hollow so that they both survive.
These vizoreds are known as combined vizoreds (known for
combining the hollow personality with the vizored to work
together) The best example of this is Zandrick Darkfire, who in
the Olympus and London universe eventually comes to an
understanding with his hollow, Darkcaster, in order for the two
to work together. This leads to a sort of symbiotic relationship
where both parties opt to help each other, and instead of the
soul reaper/death wraith focusing the hollow power on their own,
the two personalities usually focus their own abilities. Going
back to Zandrick Darkfire as an example, in the Olympus
universe, Zandrick uses vampire and death wraith abilities,
while Darkcaster uses death wraith and hollow abilities. Both
are able to use their own abilities, making both stronger as the
two work together. The major advantage to this path is that the
hollow and the vizored may find the vizored may be able to
handle certain situations, while the hollow may be able to
handle other situations. Not only that, but this path is more
powerful than the conqueror vizored. The only real danger to
this is that there is more risk of losing control if the vizored
and the death wraith are not in sync, and the two require far
more training. However, there are plenty of hollows that do not
like this path and will fight their host on it even if they
agree to this training path for a vizored (as its better for
them than being conquered and suppressed).
Partial Hollowfication/Fullbringer Bio:. While vizoreds are
death wraiths or soul reapers, they are not the only races that
gain the power of hollows. As mentioned, humans are the most
common candidates for hollowfication. However, there are some
rare cases where a human or other mortal will gain a hollow
nature and not hollowfy completely. In this case, the mortal
with the power becomes something akin to a vizored, but not
completely the same. Where soul reapers and death wraiths have
their powers, mortals who don't hollowfy completely instead gain
new manifestations of abilities. These types of mortals are
often referred to as either Partial Hollows (sometimes called
partial hollowfication), or Fullbringers (Depending on the
abilities they manifest). It is not fully understood what causes
this state in mortals, but it is most often present in children
who have parents who have survived hollow attacks (and it is
believed some of the hollow power is based into children
genetically). However, there are some people or creatures who
gain hollowfication in other ways, such as in the Olympus
universe where some of the Titans gained hollowfication powers.
Instead of having a soul sword or a zanpakuto like vizoreds,
Fullbringers and Partial Hollows instead have specific abilities
related to their particular power. This often allows
Fullbringers and partial hollows to be a bit of a different
breed of creatures with hollow powers than vizoreds.
Fullbringers are typically more mortal than hollow, while
partial hollows are more hollow than mortal. Depending on how
much hollow power they have, this determines whether the person
will become a partial hollow or Fullbringer with their hollow
power.
The first thing to talk about is Partial Hollowfication (with
those that have this trait also being sometimes called partial
hollows). Partial hollows are more hollow than human, and are
more like vizoreds than Fullbringers are. Those that are more
hollow than mortal lose the ability to use the Fullbring
abilities, but instead gain more hollow-like abilities rather
than learning Fullbring skills. While partial hollows don't
utilize powers the same way as vizoreds through creating hollow
masks, humans with partial hollowfication instead call on their
hollow powers as part of their normal bodies, usually through
more powerful unique hollow powers. In the case of partial
hollows, partial hollows gain a stronger spirit nature similar
to vizoreds, and lose the ability to learn Fullbring. However,
the tradeoff is that the partial hollow power is stronger than
Fullbring power, and allows more hollow power to be used than
other races. Because partial hollows are more hollow than any
other race in this list (being more hollow than Fullbringers or
vizoreds), they have more ability to use hollow power since they
are closer to hollows than most races (only being beat by true
hollows and arrancars). For example, partial hollows are able to
use a full hollow's power of a corrosive spirit presence, where
vizoreds and Fullbringers don't gain that ability. Partial
hollows are often seen as being the closest to true hollows,
except that they utilize their hollow powers in human form
rather than being actual hollows. The only thing to note is that
partial hollows often have a higher risk of losing control of
their hollow power and becoming full hollows, especially if they
are near death or do die while overcome with negative emotions
affecting their hollow power. While there have been other
creatures who have gained hollow power like this (For example,
Olympus Universe former Tartarus lord Kindron Darkfire fit into
the category of a partial hollow despite being a demonic deity,
not a mortal), this is most common in humans though other
supernatural creatures have gained this.
For training, partial hollows have a similar task to vizoreds in
learning to control their hollow, which allows them to pick
similar training paths. Like vizoreds, partial hollows have two
training paths. The first is that they can conquer their inner
hollow and utilize their hollow powers just like any other
power. Unlike vizoreds, partial hollows with this training path
don't use hollow mask, but instead just call on their hollow
powers at will. And of course, the second is the path of allying
with the hollow, which works similarly to how it works with
vizoreds. In this case, the hollow can take over and control the
hollow abilities. Instead of having Fullbring items like
Fullbringers, or soul bound weapons like vizoreds, partial
hollows have stronger unique abilities, and stronger
amplification of those abilities thanks to their hollow nature
being stronger. With partial hollows, their unique abilities are
usually stronger than those used by vizoreds and Fullbringers,
making the powers quite useful. Since vizoreds focus more on
their amplified soul bound weapons or zanpakutos, their unique
hollow abilities are usually not as powerful. Partial hollows
even have a special ability to amplify their special abilities
thanks to their hollow power being stronger than other part
hollow creatures. Partial hollows also gain a partial hollow
form that is unique to them, and a partial manifestation of
their full hollow form. Partial hollows are known for being the
closest things to hollows one can get before becoming a full
hollow. As such, their abilities often reflect how close they
are to hollows.
The next thing to talk about are Fullbringers, who are more
human than hollow. There are a lot of Fullbringers that have
learned to manifest their hollow powers similarly to Vizoreds,
but instead of using death wraith or soul reaper abilities, they
have Fullbring abilities that make up for the lack of death
wraith or soul reaper abilities. However, Fullbringers don't
even have full hollow abilities, and instead utilize their own
skillset to utilize their hollow powers. While still on par with
partial hollows and vizoreds, Fullbringers are more mortal, and
have learned to utilize their hollow skills accordingly. Instead
of having soul bound weapons or unique hollow powers,
Fullbringers developed an ability known as Fullbring (for which
they were obviously named). This power lets a Fullbringer call
forth the souls of objects, where Fullbringers dedicate their
abilities to learning how to utilize this ability for different
purposes. For example, instead of hollow Sonido, Fullbringers
use Bringer Light, a stepping power that uses their control of
objects or the environment to enhance their movement. However,
the Fullbringers are known for having their own abilities using
sets of Fullbring items, which often are items close to the
Fullbringer that become connected to the manifestation of their
Fullbring power. At that point, the Fullbring power becomes
unique items that are different depending on the Fullbringer.
For Fullbringers, most Fullbringers have a couple of Fullbring
items once they have learned to utilize Fullbring, which
manifest differently for each person. Some may not even use
items, and instead their Fullbring may actually be a part of
their body, such as the Olympus universe's Yasutora Sado (before
he was killed by Ichigo Kurosaki during the Aizen conflict)
who's arms were his Fullbring power manifestation. They do gain
some of the same hollow abilities as vizoreds though, such as
the ability to fire ceros, though most of the Fullbring powers
are unique compared to partial hollows and vizoreds. Unlike
vizoreds who mostly just gain amplified power, Fullbringers
don't gain the same highly amplified power partial hollows and
vizoreds gain. Instead, their power is more about technique and
focus rather than about raw power like other hollow races.
However, their training is still the same as the vizoreds, where
they can choose to either conquer their hollow power or they can
work with their hollow. Unlike vizoreds and partial hollows
though, Fullbringers don't have different forms based on the
training path, and both training paths seem to lead to the same
end. Those that conquer their hollow power and those that ally
with their hollow both seem to gain the same abilities, with the
only real difference being who is in control of the Fullbring
powers (conquered hollows will have the mortal in control of the
power, while the combined hollow power will have the hollow take
over to use the power). It's usually common for Fullbringers to
have full conquered their hollow power, and it is rare to ever
see a Fullbringer with an inner hollow due to the fact the
Fullbring powers are more fo a unique skillset than the
manifestation fo hollow powers.
Vizored Race: Vizoreds are specific to the death wraith and soul
reaper races. This particular training is only designed for
beings of death that have gained hollowfied natures in some
manner. This can be done through natural means (being born of
someone with hollow powers), or can be done artificially
(gaining the power through some external source or situation).
It is rare for a death wraith or a soul reaper to gain hollow
power, and usually must either be born with the power from a
parent who had hollow power, or must gain it from something
(such as in some universes Sosuke Aizen often creates the first
known soul reaper vizoreds through using the Hogyoku to break
the bonds of soul reaper and hollow). Vizoreds, whether soul
reaper or death wraith, have their base abilities still (whether
it's a soul reaper retaining their base abilities or a death
wraith retaining their base abilities), but instead gain the
hollowfied nature as an additional power set to add onto their
base powers as the hollow powers are usually adapted to the
power set the user has. Depending on the path chosen in training
(either conquering their hollow or forming an alliance with it),
this often determines some of the abilities. So far, no known
grim reapers have become vizoreds, and it is believed that they
can specifically avoid this corrupted nature since they are
specifically made to move between the living world and realm of
death (meaning they don't get corrupted by the living world's
energies). For vizoreds, the amount of power and abilities they
manifest depend on how much hollow power they possess. If they
have a lot of hollow power, they will have more hollow
abilities, but likely less control if they are more hollow.
However, while having less hollow power is safer, it means the
vizored may not gain certain abilities. These powers can be used
as an add-on to almost any death wraith or soul reaper profile
(if the player wants to give them hollow powers). If a player
wants to add these power to a race other than death wraiths or
soul reapers, see partial hollowfication/Fullbringers for more
details.
Partial Hollow Race: Most mortal races can learn hollow power in
some form if they are able to handle the corruption of hollow
power. Usually, it's living mortals who gain the power of
partial hollowfication. While Vizoreds cover death wraiths and
soul reapers who gain hollow power, partial hollows covers the
other living races who gain hollow power that become more hollow
than mortal. Aside from dead souls who almost always become full
hollows, partial hollows can be almost any kind of mortal
creature with hollow power. As like with vizoreds, partial
hollows can either be born with this power, or they can be
corrupted into gaining hollow power (which is often more
common). The most common method for a living creature to gain
hollow power is usually if they are infected by a hollow's
spirit power, or some living creatures have been known to gain
hollow powers if their heart is removed for extended periods of
time (which it is believed that the loss of the heart creates
corruption in the body and soul that leads to hollowfication).
Of course, that's assuming a creature can survive without their
heart until hollowfication sets in. Like vizoreds, how much
hollow power and abilities one has usually depends on how much
hollow power they have. For players, partial hollow abilities
can be added to any mortal profile as long as it is a race that
can be corrupted with hollow energy. There are some corrupted
spirit races that cannot hollowfy since it would require losing
that corrupted spirit nature they already have in favor of a
different corrupted spirit nature. However, there are also those
with corrupted spirit natures that may be able to learn hollow
powers more easily because of their corruption if the corruption
already in them is similar enough to hollow power. Like
vizoreds, this can be just added to any mortal profile as an
extra skillset.
Fullbringer Race: Fullbringers are their own thing, kind of. It
is most common for Fullbringers to be born with their power,
rather than gaining it through hollow attacks or hollow
infections. Fullbringers, like partial hollows, are mortals who
have gained hollow power, but unlike partial hollows they remain
more human than hollow. Instead, Fullbringers develop their
hollow powers in the form for their Fullbring abilities, which
are their main focus. Unlike vizoreds and partial hollows,
Fullbringers have their own skillset rather than relying on
hollow power, and their power is not a corrupted nature due to
how little hollow energy is within them. This still is created
from a corrupted spirit nature, but because of the low amounts
of hollow power, Fullbringers don't manifest the full ability
set of hollows. Instead, they have improvised equivalent skills,
such as replacing hollow Sonido with Bringer Light (a stepping
method Fullbringers use). Fullbringers are usually mortal,
though some other races can become Fullbringers if they can
handle the corruption of hollow powers. Just like partial
hollows, some races can handle corruption while others may not.
There are some corrupted spirit races that cannot gain hollow
power since it would require losing that corrupted spirit nature
they already have in favor of a different corrupted spirit
nature. However, there are also those with corrupted spirit
natures that may be able to learn these powers more easily
because of their corruption if the corruption already in them is
similar enough to hollow power. Like vizoreds and partial
hollows, this can be just added to any mortal profile. While it
is rare for death wraiths or soul reapers to gain Fullbring,
there are rare cases of it happening. However, it is worth
noting that Fullbringers are more their own thing than being
just another race of people with hollow powers. Fullbringers
usually either have very little hollow power, or they disgard
most of their hollow power other than what they need to unlock
fullbring abilties. This means it doesn't really matter how much
hollow power they have or how controlled they are like with
vizoreds since they don't have enough hollow power for it to be
an issue one way or the other.
Vizored Base Abilities (For Soul Reapers and Death Wraiths):
- Vizored Base Ability: Amplified Corrupted Hollow Spirit
Nature: For death wraiths and soul reapers, the first thing to
note when they gain hollow abilities is that they gain a
corrupted spirit nature. While they retain their death wraith or
soul reaper soul, their spirit becomes a type of corrupted
spirit. In this nature, they gain the spirit corruption of a
hollow, though their own spirit doesn't completely change since
they are technically still in control. This nature becomes a
permanent change in their spirit, where their hollow powers will
manifest thanks to this corrupted nature. This is something like
a trigger for vizoreds gaining their abilities. For soul reapers
and death wraiths, they will learn how to use this nature in a
few ways. This nature is what grants their hollow abilities, and
the corrupted nature of their spirit is often where their inner
hollows can be found. Depending on the training path that one
chooses, there are two ways to control one's inner hollow. The
first is for one to conquer their hollow and acknowledge the
parts of them that they hide (as inner hollows often take the
form of the suppressed feelings and emotions one has). The
stronger the suppressed emotions and feelings, the stronger the
inner hollow becomes. This first option is the best for those
that want to maintain complete control of themselves. The second
option is to ally with the inner hollow, where some vizoreds
don't conquer, but instead will share their mind with the inner
hollow in exchange for the two working together to survive. For
the most part, this corrupted nature grants all of the hollow
abilities, and this nature is usually able to be sensed by
others unless one knows how to suppress this hollow nature
(which many do learn to suppress their corrupted natures).
However, with any strength comes weaknesses as well. For those
with hollow power, their spirit becomes more vulnerable to
spirit purification in the form of purifying spirit energy and
purifying darkness. It is worth noting that if a death wraith
gains hollow power, they will lose the ability to use purifying
darkness, as using it would damage their corrupted nature (or
purify the hollow out completely if one used it strongly
enough). And of course, vizoreds are still vulnerable to
whatever race weaknesses they possess (such as death wraiths
still being weak to blessed sea salt, iron and light abilities).
- Vizored Ability: Hollowfication Hollow Mask Manifestation:
When a vizored uses their hollow power, they must do so by
manifesting a hollow mask that represents their hollow power.
When manifested, this acts like a catalyst that "activates" the
hollow power within someone. Depending on the training path,
there is two ways to use this. If one is a conquered vizored,
they conquer their hollow and manifest the hollow power on their
own, by summoning their hollow mask over their face. If one is a
combined vizored, then the mask will manifest automatically when
the hollow takes control of the body, starting in a corner of
the face and slowly spirit power in the form of white liquid
will eventually create the mask as time goes on. This acts like
the activation for hollow power in vizoreds, and when used,
switches their corrupted spirit nature into an "active" state
where they are free to utilize their hollow spirit nature. While
vizoreds have hollow natures, it isn't till they use their
hollow mask that their spirit pressure and full hollow abilities
are unleashed in a process often known as "hollowfying". When
this mask is manifested, the hollow power is able to be used
like most hollow powers, where the user can use any hollow skill
that they possess. This "activated state" is how vizoreds use
their hollow power, and this is true for both conquered and
combined vizoreds. When the mask is on, it isn't just hollow
power that can be used, but the mask's activated state also
amplifies the user's power once they manifest the hollow mask
power. When used, this mask represents the hollow power, and the
user has to keep this mask manifested in order to use their
hollow power. Depending on the training path chosen will
determine how this mask is manifested, this mask might work
slightly different but for all vizoreds this mask must be used
in some way to manifest the powers since hollow masks seem to be
a direct manifestation of the hollow's spirit energy. As such,
this mask is also the biggest weakness to a vizored, as
attacking it can actually force them out of their hollowfied
state if their mask is completely destroyed.
- Vizored Base Ability: Corrupted Spirit Energy Manipulation:
Just as their spirit becomes a permanent corrupted nature, as
does a death wraith or soul reaper's soul energy after hollow
corruption. While death wraiths and soul reapers still have
normal spirit energy (where soul reapers are more like human
spirits and death wraith spirit energy is a type of
darkness-infused spirit energy), their spirit energy gains this
corrupted nature. As such, their spirit energy becomes a
corrupted spirit energy when they gain hollow natures. Thanks to
this, their spirit energy can still be used as normal, but does
corrupted spirit energy damage to opponents when used. For
example, soul reapers can still use kido and death wraiths can
still use shadow arts, but the arts would also have a corrupted
energy affect on others. Not only is this spirit energy
corrupted in nature, but this can also poison those that eat
souls, including being able to damage other hollows that devour
souls. This also works on those that absorb soul energy, where
the corrupted spirit energy does internal damage to any spirit
energy absorber who tries to absorb this energy, unless they
have a skill that literally lets them resist corrupted spirit
energy (which rare hollows may have). And in addition to
learning how to utilize spirit energy, the enhanced spirit
energy thanks to hollow power is also stronger than normal
spirit energy, in effect amplifying the user's original spirit
power to higher levels than they normally would have. Due to the
hollow spirit granting this amplified nature, it is not uncommon
to see vizoreds become much stronger when they gain hollow power
(though how they use it depends on how they decide to train it).
It is common for those with hollow power to have enhanced spirit
pressure coming from them. While vizoreds aren't as powerful as
partial hollows in terms of spirit pressure, vizoreds do have
enhanced spirit energy that is far stronger than a normal soul
reaper or death wraith. Of course, as one might expect, this
spirit energy is still countered like normal spirit energy, as
long as someone doesn't try to counter it by absorbing it.
- Vizored Ability: Hollow Twisted Spiritual Pressure: When using
hollow power, the hollow power is manifested as spirit pressure,
exerted on the spirit energy of the world around them. For
stronger hollowfied vizoreds, their spirit pressure is strong
enough that it can release intense gravity on others (if their
spirit energy is strong, but this requires a very strong
spiritual presence only present in those with more raw spirit
power). For vizoreds, if they use their hollow power, they will
sense as twisted spirits. For example, one arrancar that sensed
a soul reaper vizored fighting another arrancar noticed that it
didn't feel human or soul reaper, but instead felt more like the
person was just like an arrancar in how their spirit energy
sensed. Other beings can usually sense this twisted presence
when the hollow power is used. If a conquered vizored uses their
hollow power, this power manifests when they manifest their
hollow power as long as their hollow mask is present and their
power is using hollow energy (more later). For combined
vizoreds, the inner hollow instead keep their spirits separate
from the host, and switch over when the hollow is left in
control. When doing this, the hollow's spirit energy and twisted
spirit pressure can be sensed just as one would expect, where
the hollow's twisted spirit pressure becomes what others will
sense as long as the hollow is in control. Whether one is a
conquered or combined vizored, both presences will sense pretty
much the same, as both methods produce a very similar
manifestation of hollow energy. As such, this spirit pressure
can be sensed from any vizored, and this pressure can be sensed
by those with spirit senses. For the most part, this only really
covers how a vizored's aura senses to others, and doesn't really
have much in terms of battle abilities, other than strong enough
spirit pressure can create intense gravity in an area when a
strong enough presence exerts itself on an area. However, this
can be resisted with force of will, or by others with spirit
powers similar in level to the pressure being exerted (user
doesn't have to be a corrupted spirit to counter this).
- Conquered Vizored Base Ability: Manual Hollow Mask
Manifestation: This is the main method of hollowfying for
conquered vizoreds. When a conquered vizored trains their hollow
powers, they must conquer their hollow, in which they become the
user of the hollow power rather than having the hollow take
control. As such, they manifest their power slightly differently
from combined hollows. When calling on their power, they
manifest their power in the form of a complete hollow mask over
their face. This acts like an activation of the hollow power. In
this method, the user manifests the hollow mask consciously, in
which they turn this power on and off at their leisure. When
using this method of hollow power, the power can be turned on
when the user wants to use it, and then the hollow abilities can
be used like normal. The main advantage to this is that
conquered vizoreds don't use their hollow power unless they want
to, and can toggle it on and off at will, even repairing the
mask with their spirit power if the mask is damaged (though this
can only be done if the user has spirit energy and the mask
isn't destroyed completely). This is a very necessary skill
because for conquered vizoreds, they only have limited time to
use their hollow power before it will forcibly deactivate.
Because of how this power works, conquered vizoreds don't have
to worry about being forced into hollow states by their inner
hollow, but because of how they conquer this power, they cannot
use the full power of hollowfication due to the fact that they
have to focus on manifesting this power and manifesting it when
needed. And since part of the their power is dedicated to
keeping the hollow from reawakening and taking over, this method
tends to be more limited in when it can be used than combined
vizoreds abilities. Once their alloted time to hollowfy has been
used up, they cannot use it again for the rest of the day. It is
known that every conquered vizored has a certain time they can
be a hollowfied state, and that time limit is determined by
their training and stamina, as once their stamina gives out,
this power typically does too. Conquered vizoreds have learned
to effectively use their hollow power, and learn how long they
can stay hollowfied in order to use their power to its maximum
effect. It is also worth noting that those that utilize this
training path don't always gain the full abilities of hollows,
such as there are many conquered vizoreds that cannot fire
ceros. Of course, as one might expect, if an enemy can destroy
the hollow mask, then they can force a vizored out of their
hollowfied state.
- Combined Vizored Base Ability: Hollow Spirit Control Passive
Hollow Mask Creation: For combined vizoreds that rely on
alliance with their hollow, they do not manually manifest their
hollow power, but instead allow their hollow to take control of
the mind. Combined vizoreds will allow the inner hollow to take
over when they want to use hollow power, and the inner hollow
manifests the hollow power instinctually, since most hollows
instinctively manifest their abilities. As such, inner hollows
that take control don't have to focus at all on manifesting
their powers, as this is done passively once they are in
control. Unlike conquered vizoreds who manifest a complete mask,
inner hollows slowly manifest a hollow mask over their face
during the curse of time they are in control. In this method,
the vizored doesn't have to focus on how to manifest the power,
and the inner hollow just switches in and uses their abilities.
Because of this there is no need to "activate" the hollow power
when using this method. And when using this, the inner hollow
will often have more ability to use the hollow powers than
conquered vizoreds, since they have access to most of the hollow
abilities (with certain limited skills due to them not being
complete hollows). Unlike conquered vizoreds who may not gain
all the abilities of hollows (like some who cannot fire ceros
since they either lack the knowledge or have enough of the
hollow power in control of their spirit), these inner hollows
are usually able to access a more complete power set than
conquered vizoreds, and can usually have no problem utilizing
their power. The only real downside to this training method is
that this training method often results in the inner hollow and
the vizored having to work together, and if they are not in
sync, it can cause them to fight for control. For example, a
vizored can retake control by ripping off the hollow mask or
destroying it, forcing the hollow back into their mind. And due
to the inner hollow usually not playing by anyone's rules but
their own, the hollows will take any chance they get to fight,
even if it's not always at the vizored's request (of course,
this depends on the hollow and how willing they are to work with
the vizored).
- Conquered Vizored Spirit Pressure Amplifiation: When a
conquered vizored activates their hollow power, they gain an
intense power boost when they release their hollowfication
abilities. As such, this releases an increased spirit pressure
that is often considered dark and twisted. This is similar to
the normal release of spirit pressure, except that hollow power
for conquered vizoreds acts more like a power amplifier than
actual hollow power, which is why some conquered vizoreds don't
always unlock certain hollow abilities. However, as a tradeoff,
the conquered vizoreds gain far more power amplification than
combined vizoreds since the conquered vizoreds gain a stronger
power amplification with far less risk of their hollow taking
control than combined vizoreds since their inner hollow is
naturally suppressed when they conquer it (unless the vizored
somehow loses control of themselves and accidentally reawakens
the hollow within which can happen in times of extreme duress).
Thanks to this amplification, the vizored gains highly enhanced
power, and their spirit power using this amplifies their twisted
spirit energy to levels that can even compete with those of
vasto lorde hollows, with some vizoreds being able to even
counter higher level arrancars (that are stronger than vasto
lorde hollows). As long as the hollow power is active, this is a
passive amplification that applies to the vizored's power and
doesn't require any conscious thought other than when the
vizored wants to use hollow abilities. Since hollows are more
instinctual creatures, conquered vizoreds need only tap into
that instinct to use techniques (which some have more success
than others). However, this leads to the biggest downside to
this training path: While this is a great way to control one's
hollow, suppressing the hollow through conquering the hollow
often might suppress certain hollow abilities, such as some
conquered vizoreds may not be able to fire Ceros. The other main
weakness is that using this method comes with another
limitation: The user can only use their hollow power for a
limited time. This means that conquered vizoreds have to be more
careful about how they use their hollow power, as their time
using hollow power is limited to a certian amount each day
depending on their training and stamina in maintaining the
hollow mask (which is done through conscious thought).
- Combined Vizored Twin Personality Power Shift: Unlike
conquered vizoreds who physically manifest their mask, combined
vizoreds don't have to physically use their power except allow
their hollow to take control of the vizored's body. Once the
hollow is in control, there is not a lot of power amplification
like with conquered vizoreds when they hollowfy, but instead the
hollow simply changes skillsets over to a hollow skillset. In
this training path, the vizored often focuses on their own
skillset, while the hollow focuses on its own skillset
(essentially both hollows focusing on their respective
skillsets). For example, some universe versions of Zandrick
Darkfire have Zandrick using a mix of death wraith and vampire
abilities while his hollow Darkcaster uses a mix of death wraith
and hollow abilities. In this manner, this particular training
path is not about power amplification, but instead about
shifting over to the hollow. Because hollows are very
instinctive about accessing their powers, the hollow being in
control allows the hollow to use far more of the hollow's power
than a conquered vizored normally can since the inner hollow
usually is able to utilize a full hollow skillset (since it is
technically a hollow spirit). In this method of shifting, there
is also a slight power increase, but the main draw of this power
is allowing the hollow to more naturally use its powers rather
than the vizored trying to have to figure out those powers
themselves. Since the hollow and the vizored can work together,
the hollow personality trains up its abilities alongside the
vizored, and the two grow stronger together as the two train
their individual skillsets. However, in this method, there is a
danger of the hollow trying to permanently take over, as most
hollows may try to consume the soul of their host in order to
gain permanent control. While there is no time limit like with
conquered vizoreds, combined vizoreds have to do more to keep
their hollow in line, which is why many will often have to
consciously take back control by fighting the hollow. In this
method, many vizoreds often carry items or learn abilities that
will let them retake control so that the hollow doesn't
completely take over the body.
- Vizored Ability: Hollow Amplified Soul Sword (Death Wraith
Vizoreds Only): For death wraiths with hollow power, the effects
on a soul sword are different from a soul reaper's zanpakuto.
For death wraiths, hollow amplified soul swords gain a few
enhancements. First, the soul sword's abilities become much
stronger, where a death wraith vizored's soul sword abilities
are highly amplified by by the hollow abilities. This could be
as simple as a simple enhancement, or a death wraith may gain an
extra ability when the soul sword is used with hollow power. For
example, a death wraith with a lightning soul sword may fire
normal lightning, but when hollow power is used, the lightning
might sense as twisted and corrupted. Typically, the change in
hollow nature is reflected in the soul sword, and often times
the soul sword will have slight differences when used in battle
than they normally would. Some death wraiths born with hollow
power may even gain special soul swords that are specifically
designed for their vizored power, such as some death wraiths
have had soul swords that use corrupted spirit abilities and
work in combination more easiliy with their inherited hollow
power. The other major difference is that the ability to purify
ghosts and dark spirits is changed to a corruptive nature where
the power of the sword instead destroys spirits rather than
purify them (making a vizored's soul sword a spirit destruction
weapon rather than a ghost/spirit purification weapon). As such,
this makes vizoreds much more dangerous when using hollow power,
as their weapons can actually destroy spirits (which they must
be careful when using hollow power to avoid destroying spirits
they don't want to destroy. This ability works the same whether
the vizored is a conquered or combined vizored, as both
amplifications work the same way in this regard. The only thing
to note is that this particular amplification only applies to
the death wraith soul sword, and not to soul reaper zanpakutos.
However, while this does use amplified power and spirit
destruction, the abilities of the soul sword are still countered
like normal and can be countered the same as before if one takes
into account the amplified power and the corrupted power.
Usually, using an energy that can soak up the spirit destruction
power (like using spirit energy to sacrifice a bit so that the
spirit destruction doesn't destroy part of the soul) also works,
as well as other spirit destruction powers and other corrupted
spirit powers also countering this corruption.
- Vizored Ability: Hollow Amplified Zanpakuto (Soul Reapers
Only) For soul reapers with hollow power, the effects on a
zanpakuto are different from a death wraith's soul sword. First,
the zanpakuto's abilities become much stronger, where a soul
reaper vizored's zanpakuto abilities are highly amplified by by
the hollow abilities. This could be as simple as a simple
enhancement, or a soul reaper may gain an extra ability when the
zanpakuto is used with hollow power. For example, Olympus
universe Ichigo Kurosaki was able to use blue spirit waves when
using Getsuga Tensho, but when used with his hollow power, his
Getsuga became black and dark in color due to the hollow power.
Typically, the change in hollow nature is reflected in the
zanpakuto in some way, and often times the zanpakuto will have
slight differences when used in battle than they normally would.
This is especially present when using a soul reaper bankai,
where the hollow amplification is at its strongest. And because
zanpakutos can be reforged with new power if the old one is
destroyed, there are some vizored soul reapers that have
reforged their zanpakutos to utilize hollow power specfically.
Again going back to Olympus Universe Ichigo, Ichigo had his
zanpakuto reforged after his old one was destroyed and had his
quincy power forged into one blade while his hollow power was
forged into another blade (essentially separating his zanpakuto
into two power sets so the two zanpakuto spirits could use their
powers without trying to overcome one another). In soul reaper
zanpakutos, the hollow is often connected to the zanpakuto
spirit (both often coming from the same place in the spirit),
and this often leads to the hollow's powers specfically being
connected to the zanpakuto's released power. Because of this,
hollow power usually conflicts with the zanpakuto spirit, where
some hollow spirits may even replace the zanpakuto spirit if
there is an imbalance. This means that, while more powerful than
death wraith soul swords, there is far more risk of losing
control of the zanpakuto spirit and the hollow spirit taking
over (though conquered vizoreds only have to worry about that if
they are in extreme danger and accidentally awaken their
hollow). As one might expect, the power increase is really the
only thing that one needs to worry about, and all abilities are
usually still countered like normal as long as one accounts for
the increased power, and any extra skills the hollow may grant
the zanpakuto.
- Hollow Ability: High Speed Regeneration: Those that know
anything about hollows know just how dangerous this power is.
Hollows are known for regenerating their injuries, in which they
often regenerate using their spirit power (usually in the form
of a gelatinous white liquid that is a physical manifestation of
spirit energy). Hollows can regenerate faster than most
creatures can, and can even regenerate limbs. This is a passive
skill used by hollows, where they are able to regenerate
passively. However, if a hollow does need to regenerate faster,
they can focus on their regeneration if they have a chance to
concentrate and regenerate faster as a result. This power is
able to be used by almost any hollow spirit, and even applies to
creatures like vizoreds and arrancars (though vizoreds and
arrancars typically often lose some of their regeneration
ability since they usually aren't fully hollow in nature).
Typically, hollows are able to regenerate any body part aside
from being able to regenerate their head and their vital organs.
Hollows have been able to regenerate limbs, regenerate some
organs, and many can even regenerate their hollow mask (as long
as their brain isn't destroyed). For the most part, hollows
don't have special arts for regeneration, but some do have
special arts that take advantage of their regeneration, such as
Ulquiorra Cifer who had the ability to show others what he had
seen by removing his eye and crushing it in the presence of
allies (and would regenerate it not too long later thanks to his
high speed regeneration). This power works much like normal
regeneration except that this power doesn't run on energy, but
instead seems to work instinctively. There is no limit to how
much damage can be repaired with this technique, as the
regeneration will never run out of energy. The only way the
regeneration will stop working is if a vital is destroyed (that
cannot be fixed), or something that negates the hollow's
regeneration is used. While things like varanium and carbonadium
do work to stop a hollow's regeneration, spirit purification and
spirit destruction also temporarily stop a hollow's
regeneration, as those powers are meant specifically to counter
hollows. For vizoreds, they are able to use this when using
hollow power (though their hollow power must be in an active
state to use this), but this does work just like it does for
normal hollows.
- Hollow Ability: Cero Blast Manipulation: This is another
trademark of hollows, in which they are able to fire ceros at
people. For those that don't know what ceros are, hollows
concentrate large amounts of spirit energy in the form of beams
that cause massive destruction. Similar to how ki users focus
their energy into beams, hollows also focus their spirit energy
into similar beams. Those that are caught in the beams take
severe energy damage, and some weaker opponents can even be
obliterated by stronger cero attacks. Hollows aren't just
limited to firing single giant beams though, as hollow kind has
developed a lot of cero arts (mostly through the arrancars
coming up with new cero skills). These arts could be creating a
slashing wave with a cero, or could simply be something like
firing a smaller, more compact cero. Not only are there many
arts, but higher level hollows can even learn to fire other
types of ceros, such as arrancars of a high level have learned
to fire special ceros like gran rey cero by mixing their blood
into their cero, or higher level arrancars have learned to fire
dark ceros called cero oscuras. And depending on the hollow or
person with hollow power, there may be other types of options as
well, such as a death wraith vizored may be able to fire a
special dark cero using their spirit energy that is shadow-based
in nature. Some may even develop other cero techniques based on
their own skillset if they have the ability to use hollow power
in conjunction with other skillsets (Such as the
Interdimensional Sabbat member Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez could fire
ceroes using his dark flames to create a massive dark flame cero
blast). These are focused through parts of the body, which can
be different depending on the hollow. For example, there are
many hollows that fire ceros from their mouths, but some do also
use their hands or fingers to fire ceros as well. Since each
hollow has some part of their body that they use to focus ceros,
they can be a bit predictable. Of course, these are countered
just like any other beam of energy, either by dodging or using
some form of energy to defend oneself (this can be defended
against just like any other energy beam attack). Vizoreds that
use ceros (not all vizoreds can) can only use these when
hollowfied.
- Hollow Art: Garganta Realm Traversing: Hollows get around by
using the Garganta to get from place to place easily. For those
that don't know what the Garganta is, the Garganta is a black
void that connects Hueco Mundo (The hollow world) to the living
world). For hollows, they are able to use their spirit energy to
distort space in order to open up the Garganta so that they can
travel through it. Once inside, the hollow can travel anywhere
from the living world to Hueco Mundo. Some hollows have even
learned to access the Dangai with this (the realm connecting the
realm of the living to the Soul Society where the soul reapers
are based). By releasing a bit of spirit energy, a hollow is
able to open the Garganta from anywhere in the living world or
in Hueco Mundo. When in this realm, the hollow travels by
creating paths with their spirit energy, where they use the
realm to go to where they want to go thanks to this void being
connected to almost any spot in the living world or in Hueco
Mundo. When in this realm, very few people can get to the
hollow, making it great for hiding in during a dangerous
situation. However, some more skilled hollows can even utilize
the Garganta to see areas using portals in the Garganta to
create images from a certain point in space (usually used to spy
on people they take interest in), or some can create portals
directly to where they want to go (connecting to places in space
using the Garganta without needing to traverse it). Any hollow
can instinctively access this realm, as well as instinctively
traverse it to go where they want to go. Part hollows like
vizoreds can also learn to use the Garganta to travel around,
though this takes some training and experimenting to learn how
to navigate when inside the Garganta. The only danger of the
Garganta is if a user's spirit energy gives out and they cannot
create footholds, in which case the user will fall into the
blackness and will either be lost in the Garganta unable to
return, or some have been spit out of the Garganta at random
places in space (the Garganta doesn't traverse time, but can go
through space to the point that some who have gotten lost have
even ended up in other universes). As such, this does require a
hollow to know where they want to go, and that they have enough
spirit energy to create the portal to where they want to go (and
create the foothold to walk on). If one wants to learn to open
portals from one place to another, this takes training and
experience, as it is an art even the most advanced hollows have
to learn through trial and error since it is not a natural way
of traversing the Garganta. Vizoreds can only use this when in
hollow form, and the same rules apply to vizoreds that apply to
hollows who use this.
- Hollow Soul Interaction/Soul Devouring: Hollows are known for
devouring souls, being among the original creatures that would
consume souls. Because of this, hollows have learned to interact
with spirits, whether it is in the living world or in the Veil
where dead spirits wait for someone to take them to the
afterlife. Hollows are not only able to see and interact with
souls, but can consume them just as a normal person would
consume a burger. Because hollows exclusively eat souls, they
will hunt souls in almost any form, with some sometimes going
after specific souls, like one hollow that only went after soul
reapers who came after it. By devouring souls, a hollow is able
to grow in power, as well as some may gain new abilities if they
eat the soul of a supernatural. Unlike mortals who cannot fully
destroy souls they devour, hollows devour souls and once
digested, the soul is destroyed in a method akin to soul
destruction (which is often why hollows are considered extremely
dangerous). Unlike mortals, hollows don't have stores of souls
inside them, but instead the hollow just devours souls until the
souls digest and are destroyed. However, there are some that
devour souls that don't destroy souls, and instead turn them
into hollows (as some are built to create new hollows rather
than just devour souls). Normally, hollows are sent to Hueco
Mundo where the air is filled with spirit energy for them to
devour, and when there, hollows may even start eating each
other. When a hollow eats other hollows, it may start evolving
into a Menos Grande, which is a higher class of hollow (low rank
being Gillian, next up being Adjuchas, and the most powerful
being vasto lorde). Those not born hollow may not be able to
destroy souls they devour (as mortals with hollow power, or
vizoreds don't actually digest souls but keep the souls inside
them as a store of souls). This power can be used by anyone with
hollow power, though some hollows may have unique uses for
souls, while some may devour souls just because they can. If a
soul is eaten by a hollow, the soul does have some time before
it gets digested, and stronger souls may be able to attack the
hollow from the inside and force it to spit out the soul, or
some souls have escaped by climbing back up the throat and out
of its mouth (though the hollow often can notice this and try to
stop the soul from escaping). Of course, in order to be
digested, the soul does have to be devoured, and avoiding this
is as simple as avoiding being eaten by a hollow. For vizoreds,
vizoreds almost never eat human souls, except in rare cases
where some vizoreds have gone crazy and started eating souls
(though usually this results in the vizored being hunted by
other death wraiths and soul reapers if they are eating souls).
- Hollow Ability: Hierro (Iron Skin): This technique is akin to
abilities like spirit defense or other similar defense skills
that use energy to defend oneself. In this art, a hollow's
spirit energy strengthens their skin considerably, where the
hollow gains extremely tough skin as a result of their spiritual
power. This acts like armor on the hollow, making it harder to
damage them. As one might imagine, this makes attacking a hollow
much more difficult, as their hierro can block weaker attacks
with some even being able to stop bladed weapons with a strong
enough spirit energy. When it comes to Hierro, the more spirit
energy a hollow has, the stronger their hierro is (Making the
strength of the Hierro usually proportional to the power of the
hollow). However, some hollows have specifically trained this
skill, and honed it through combat training (usually among
higher level hollow entities like arrancars and vizoreds).
Typically, hollows with less regeneration ability have stronger
Hierro than those with stronger regeneration, though there are
certain exceptions to this rule. Depending on the hollow, some
can defend against bladed weapons, and some can even resist
bullets. Depending on the strength of the Hierro, there are some
hollows that have skin similar to dragon skin in terms of
strength. Typically, in order to break this, an opponent must
either hit the hollow with stronger attacks, or they must focus
their attacks to try and pierce the Hierro more effectively
(which can be effective for those with more focused combat
styles, as focus has proven very effective against Hierro in the
past). Hollows with this power are dependent on the strength of
their spirit energy, and while stronger spirit energies will
usually have stronger Hierros, weaker spirit energies will have
weaker Hierros as well. And when a hollow gains Hierro, their
regeneration abilities may increase or decrease to adapt to the
Hierro's hardness. Those with stronger Hierro have less
regeneration due to the fact that the Hierro is harder to repair
if damaged, but weaker Hierros have stronger regeneration since
they can use full regeneration without any issues. For vizoreds,
vizoreds also have this skill, and the same rules apply to them
as other hollows (More spirit energy means stronger Hierro, and
stronger Hierro means less regeneration power). Another thing to
note is that this is only usable for vizoreds when in hollowfied
form.
- Hollow Ability: Hollow Spirit Sense: Pesquisa: This is a
unique spirit sense that is specific to hollows. This allows a
hollow to release waves of spirit energy that can read
environments, specifically other sources of spirit energy around
them. This is often used in two major ways. The first is that a
user releases radiating pulses which react to spirit energy,
allowing them to get a general sense of their surroundings and
anyone or anything with spirit energy around them. In the world,
everything (even objects) have spirit energy, so this acts like
a sense for almost everything around the hollow. This is more of
a general sense, and done to allow one to get a sense of an area
more than trying to read an opponent. However, this does read a
person's spirit energy and allow a user to read how much spirit
energy one has, as well as sense what they are based on the
presence they give off (assuming they are not a creature that
has a suppressed presence). The second way of using this is far
more specific. Instead of focusing on an area, a hollow instead
uses this sense to focus in on one spirit in particular, in
which they tune their senses specifically to that spiritual
presence. Not only can they sense the person's presence to tell
what they are and how much spirit energy they have, but this
also allows a hollow to read his opponents to some degree, in
which some hollows can use this to predict opponents if they are
skilled enough with using Pesquisa. Unlike other hollow powers,
this power takes effort and time to learn, so hollows cannot
just instinctively become advanced users of this. Users that use
this may require time and concentration when starting out, and
even advanced users have to focus more in order to use it on a
specific person, which could leave them open to counterattack by
others that the hollow isn't focused on. Another thing to note
is that there are opponents who can outrun the Pesquisa effects,
as if the opponent is fast enough, the Pesquisa cannot keep
track of them, as shown by how some who use high speed movement
like Sonido or Flashstep being able to evade this sense. For
Vizoreds, this is also only able to be used when in hollowfied
state, but it is one that any vizored can learn to use to some
degree if they find someone who can teach it to them.
- Hollow Ability: Hollowfied Instinctual Combat: Unlike normal
beings, hollows are much different in terms of how they fight
in combat than most normal beings. Hollows do not train in the
traditional sense, but instead improve through focus and
increased spiritual strength. Hollows are creatures of instinct
above anything, and their combat reflects this. Hollows fight
using combat instinct, which they possess very strong instincts
for combat as they are creatures of violence usually born from
negative emotions. Unlike other instinctual combat styles, this
style doesn't move a user on its own, but instead just allows
them to fight without thinking about their moves. Hollow combat
is more about brute power, speed and durability than about
technique. While some hollows do utilize combat styles and
attempt to further their combat training, their main style is
more about raw physical stats. Normally, this would be a problem
as instinctive combat normally wouldn't last against experienced
martial artists and other higher level combatants. However,
hollows utilize their style in a way that makes them able to
counter other styles, where they will react to other styles and
instinctively adjust their style. For example, fighting someone
who specializes in grapples or throws will often find the hollow
trying to stay behind them where the opponent won't be able to
grab them, or fighting someone who focuses on striking moves
will find a hollow may try to keep a distance away from them and
just fire ceros at them from a distance. While special
creatures like arrancars have special combat styles they use in
addition to this, this style is the main combat style of hollows
and requires very little training. As the hollow gets stronger
and gains strong spiritual energy, their physical stats using
this style grow and they are able to use stronger physical
stats. Because of how different this style is, most opponents
have to adapt to this style in order to fight it, since it works
so much differently from other combat styles. And since this is
instinctual, a hollow doesn't have to think about the movements
made, though sometimes thinking too much might cause conflicts
in this style. Soul reapers and death wraiths have developed
ways to counter this style (using their own style), so they are
typically the best people to learn how to fight hollows from,
though others can learn how to fight this style. For vizoreds,
many use this instinctively when in hollowfied state, and can
only use this when in hollowifed state. Conquered vizoreds that
use smaller amounts of hollow power may or may not be able to
use this, or may lack the skill full hollows have when using
this combat style.
- Hollow Ability: Hollow Combat Stepping Method: Sonido: There
are two types of Sonido. It is not known whether the Darkfire
Sonido or the hollow's Sonido came first, as no one knows when
hollows developed Sonido (it is not known if arrancars developed
Sonido or if it was an instinctive combat technique used in
Hueco Mundo the arrancars adapted, which is why no one knows
what came first). However, what is known is that this is a
supernatural style combat method in movement, in which users are
able to move at high speeds, instinctively moving at high speeds
using a stepping method that hollow-kind developed for their
people to use in combat. This style of movement uses
supernatural movement styles in order to utilize their speed to
the utmost ability, with hollows using this by focusing their
spirit energy to amplify their movement. When used, this is
designed to allow users to move at high speeds, covering
distances between then or an opponent or even traveling at high
speeds when needed. This style produces an audible boom or
static when used, which led to it's name which literally
translates to "Sound Step." Advanced users of this style are
fast enough to leave afterimages, and some have even figured out
how to use certain steps in order to leave behind essence that
creates an almost solid afterimage. While not fully there, the
image has some substance to it in which a user can do damage
with this, or use it to fool opponents while they move behind
them. This style is extremely fast, and when in motion, the user
will often disappear from view because they move faster than the
eyes can track. For hollows, this goes along with their
instinctive combat style, where they will use this as the
stepping method to utilize their combat style. When in motion,
they are very hard to track, and masters of this skill are some
of the fastest hollows in Hueco Mundo (or in the living world if
they live in the living world). For the most part, hollows
instinctively use this, where they simply learn it from their
instinctive combat. This means that no training is really needed
to learn this. However, training does allow a hollow to get
better at using this stepping method. For vizoreds, they learn
to use this instinctively as well, as long as they are able to
learn the instinctive combat of hollows (which some conquered
vizoreds might not be able to learn this if they cannot learn
the instinctive combat).
Partial Hollowfication Base Abilities:
- Partial Hollow Base Ability: Amplified Corrupted Hollow Spirit
Nature: For humans or other mortals with hollow power, the first
thing to note when they gain hollow abilities is that they gain
a corrupted spirit nature. While they retain their normal soul,
their spirit becomes a type of corrupted spirit. In this nature,
they gain the spirit corruption of a hollow, though their own
spirit doesn't completely change since they are technically
still in control. This nature becomes a permanent change in
their spirit, where their hollow powers will manifest thanks to
this corrupted nature. This is something like a trigger for
humans or mortals gaining their abilities (As long as they're
not turned into a full hollow). For mortals, they will learn how
to use this nature in a few ways. This nature is what grants
their hollow abilities, and the corrupted nature of their spirit
is often where their inner hollows can be found. Depending on
the training path that one chooses, there are two ways to
control one's inner hollow. The first is for one to conquer
their hollow and acknowledge the parts of them that they hide
(as inner hollows often take the form of the suppressed feelings
and emotions one has). The stronger the suppressed emotions and
feelings, the stronger the inner hollow becomes. This first
option is the best for those that want to maintain complete
control of themselves. The second option is to ally with the
inner hollow, where some users don't conquer, but instead will
share their mind with the inner hollow in exchange for the two
working together to survive. For the most part, this corrupted
nature grants all of the hollow abilities, and this nature is
usually able to be sensed by others unless one knows how to
suppress this hollow nature (which many do learn to suppress
their corrupted natures). However, with any strength comes
weaknesses as well. For those with hollow power, their spirit
becomes more vulnerable to spirit purification in the form of
purifying spirit energy and purifying darkness. It is worth
noting that if a death wraith gains hollow power, they will lose
the ability to use purifying darkness, as using it would damage
their corrupted nature (or purify the hollow out completely if
one used it strongly enough). For mortals with hollow power,
there is a higher risk of them turning into complete hollows at
some point, usually happening if they die, or happening if they
accidentally tap too deep into their hollow power. And of
course, mortals still retain their normal weaknesses (depending
on the race).
- Partial Hollow Base Ability: Corrupted Corrosive Spirit Energy
Manipulation: Just as their spirit becomes a permanent corrupted
nature, as does mortal's soul energy after hollow corruption.
However, their spirit energy becomes a corrupted spirit energy
when they gain hollow natures. Thanks to this, their spirit
energy can still be used as normal, but does corrupted spirit
energy damage to opponents when used. For example, some partial
hollows may still learn things like using spirit user abilities,
but the arts would also have a corrupted energy affect on
others. Not only is this spirit energy corrupted in nature, but
this can also poison those that eat souls, including being able
to damage other hollows that devour souls. This also works on
those that absorb soul energy, where the corrupted spirit energy
does internal damage to any spirit energy absorber who tries to
absorb this energy, unless they have a skill that literally lets
them resist corrupted spirit energy (which rare hollows may
have). And not only do mortals with hollow power also have
stronger spirit, but they also gain the corrosive spirit energy
of a true hollow, due to them being much closer to hollows than
any other race (including vizoreds). This means that partial
hollow power users often are able to corrode objects and use
their spirit energy almost like acid. Due to the hollow spirit
granting this amplified nature, it is not uncommon to see
mortals become much stronger when they gain hollow power (though
how they use it depends on how they decide to train it). It is
common for those with hollow power to have enhanced spirit
pressure coming from them. Partial hollows have the strongest
spirit energy out of any of the other races that gain hollow
powers, even being above vizoreds in the raw twisted spirit
power they can attain. Of course, as one might expect, this
spirit energy is still countered like normal spirit energy, as
long as someone doesn't try to counter it by absorbing it, and a
partial hollow's corrosive spirit presence can still be defended
against with other energy type defenses just like a normal
hollow's corrosive spirit power.
- Partial Hollow Ability: Hollow Enhanced Spiritual Pressure:
When using hollow power, the hollow power is manifested as
spirit pressure, exerted on the spirit energy of the world
around them. For stronger partial hollows, their spirit pressure
is strong enough that it can release intense gravity on others
(if their spirit energy is strong, but this requires a very
strong spiritual presence only present in those with more raw
spirit power). For partial hollows, if they use their hollow
power, they will sense as twisted spirits. For example, one
arrancar that sensed a soul reaper vizored fighting another
arrancar noticed that it didn't feel human or soul reaper, but
instead felt more like the person was just like an arrancar in
how their spirit energy sensed (Which also fits how a partial
hollow would sense to others as well). Other beings can usually
sense this twisted presence when the hollow power is used. If a
conquered partial hollow uses their hollow power, this power is
used in a more instinctual manner than vizoreds use their hollow
power unlike vizoreds who have to consciously call on a hollow
mask to use their hollow power (more later). Conquered vizoreds
have their hollow natures always active, and are able to be
called on passively whenever needed. For combined partial
hollows, the inner hollow instead keep their spirits separate
from the host, and switch over when the hollow is left in
control. When doing this, the hollow's spirit energy and twisted
spirit pressure can be sensed just as one would expect, where
the hollow's twisted spirit pressure becomes what others will
sense as long as the hollow is in control. Whether one is a
conquered or combined partial hollow, both presences will sense
pretty much the same, as both methods produce a very similar
manifestation of hollow energy. As such, this spirit pressure
can be sensed from any partial hollow when they use hollow power
(though conquered partial hollows have passive hollow natures
all the time, whereas combined partial hollows only use hollow
power when they switch to their hollow personality), and this
pressure can be sensed by those with spirit senses. For the most
part, this only really covers how a partial hollow's aura senses
to others, and doesn't really have much in terms of battle
abilities, other than strong enough spirit pressure can create
intense gravity in an area when a strong enough presence exerts
itself on an area. However, this can be resisted with force of
will, or by others with spirit powers similar in level to the
pressure being exerted (user doesn't have to be a corrupted
spirit to counter this).
- Conquered Partial Hollow Base Ability: Hollow Passive Power:
When a conquered partial hollow wants to their hollow power,
they gain a passive hollow state in their normal form. As such,
this releases an increased spirit pressure that is often
considered dark and twisted which amplifies a partial hollow's
base form. This is similar to the normal release of spirit
pressure, except that hollow power for conquered partial hollows
is more like being in a hollow state constantly, which is why
conquered partial hollows are sometimes mistaken for hollows
without masks or black eyes (as partial hollows with this
particular power don't have black eyes or hollow masks. However,
as a tradeoff, the conquered partial hollows gain far more power
amplification than combined partial hollows since the conquered
partial hollows gain a stronger power amplification since
partial hollows that team up with their hollows divide their
power in half so that half of it operates with the hollow and
half with the being's normal power. Thanks to this
amplification, the partial hollow gains highly enhanced power,
and their spirit power using this amplifies their twisted spirit
energy to levels that can even compete with those of vasto lorde
hollows, with some partial hollows being able to even counter
higher level arrancars (that are stronger than vasto lorde
hollows). As long as the hollow power is active, this is a
passive amplification that applies to the partial hollow's base
state power and doesn't require any conscious thought to
activate the hollow powers since partial hollows are closer to
hollows than most beings. Since hollows are more instinctual
creatures, conquered vizoreds need only tap into that instinct
to use techniques (which some have more success than others).
However, this leads to the biggest downside to this training
path: While this is a great way to control one's hollow,
suppressing the hollow through conquering the hollow often might
suppress certain hollow abilities, such as some conquered
vizoreds may not be able to fire Ceros. The other main weakness
is that using this method comes with another limitation: Users
in this state are more likely to become a full hollow at some
point in their lives (or afterlife). Due to the fact that they
are only a few steps from being a true hollow, it is far easier
for partial hollows to become hollows. It's less common with
combined partial hollows, but conquered partial hollows often
become hollows when they die, due to them already being very
close to being hollows. They can even cross into the state of
hollow in near death situations, which can mark an irreversible
change into a hollow.
- Combined Partial Hollow Ability Base Ability: Hollow Dual
Spirit: Unlike conquered partial hollows who just passively use
their power, combined partial hollows don't have to physically
use their power except allow their hollow to take control of the
host's body. In this method, the partial hollow takes control of
the body. Unlike combined vizoreds, the soul ends up with the
hollow in control of the hollowfied part of the soul while the
host takes control of the non-hollowfied part of the soul. The
biggest advantage that this has over a conquered partial hollow
is that the host and the hollow's power remains separated, and
there is far less risk of the hollow taking over the body or the
host irreversibly becoming a hollow if they die or become
corrupted enough during a life or death situation. As mentioned
before, hollows are very instinctive, and great at accessing
their abilities without needing training. The most useful aspect
of this though is the separation of host and hollow power, where
the two personalities focus on their own power and train up
their power. This grants them not only a way for each
personality to fight in their own way, but grants more variety
to the partial hollow in general because the host and the hollow
having different skillsets and having slightly different senses
to their soul can make certain situations easier since the
partial hollows that use this are usually more versatile in
handling situations (changing personalities depending on which
one is best for the situation they are in). Another thing to
note is that the spirit changes depending on who is in control,
in which their presence is reflected by what power is in
control. When the partial hollow is in control, the spirit
energy will come off twisted like that of a hollow, and some
partial hollows will manifest hollow masks and their eyes will
change to reflect their hollow self in control. When the host is
in control, the host will be normal and no hollow power will be
manifested. However, this brings out the downside to this power:
Users have to divide their power between the hollow and host,
which, while there is a power amplifiication that happens due to
the power of the hollow power amplification, the two individual
personalities usually aren't as strong as conquered partial
hollows (since they are able to use their power and hollow power
and don't have to choose between the two like combined partial
hollows do).
- Partial Hollow Ability: Enhanced Unique Hollow
Ability/Abilities: Unlike vizoreds who have soul swords or
zanpakutos that gain enhanced power from hollow amplification,
partial hollows instead gain unique hollow abilities that are
usually a reflection of their hollow power. This is different
for each hollow and can be either a completely new ability, or a
modification of one of the hosts other abilities. Among examples
could include certain spiritual abilities, such as one partial
hollow who had the ability to create corrupted constructs using
his corrupted spirit presence. There are a wide variety of these
abilities and how to use them, so each partial hollow is often
different. Some known abilities could be things like elemental
portals that can be used instead of teleportations, or some who
can use spiritual to do things like corrupting others, or some
who can gain certain aspects to spirit power that make their
spirit power unique. This could result in a variety of things
including an amped ability, a new power completely,
transformation skills using spirit power, or existing powers
with unique abilities. It is usually hard to predict what power
one will have, though one common theme among them is that almost
all partial hollow abilities are usually corrupted spirit based
in how they are powered (as they are powered by hollow spirit
power since that is the main source of power in a hollow). So
far, most of the hollow's abilities are spiritual in nature,
though there are a few that main gain other powers, such as one
partial hollow who gained corrupted spirit flames as their power
(using corrupted spirit energy to control fire and turn it into
a corrupted spirit flame). As such, these powers are very
difficult, if not impossible to predict from hollow to hollow
(or in this case, partial hollow). However, it is worth noting
that every power has not only its strengths, but also its
weaknesses as well. For example, corrupted spirit flames would
still be countered with counters to fire or counters to
corrupted spirit energy. Typically, things like spirit
purification and spirit destruction are much better at
countering hollow abilities than others, so most unique
abilities hollows have are more easily countered by things like
spirit purification.
- Partial Hollow Ability: Negative Emotion Hollow Power
Amplification: Since partial hollows are closer to normal
hollows than most beings with hollow power, partial hollows
unique abilities include an ability to amplify themselves using
negative emotions. This doesn't just apply to their unique
abilities, but also to their hollow power in general. Because
hollows are created through negative emotions and corruption,
hollows gain strength from those negative emotions. As such,
partial hollows are able to feed on negative emotions in general
in order to utilize them to amplify their power. Typically, the
power amplification through this method temporarily increases
the power of the user, depending on how much negative emotions
there are. Unlike some beings, partial hollows are not limited
in how much negative emotions they can absorb, and can absorb
negative emotions as much as they need to. As such, the
amplification for hollows can grow to much higher levels than
many other beings, as hollows feed on the negative emotions (as
well as souls). For partial hollows, they gain the ability to
absorb negative emotions and use them to amplify their power.
For some partial hollows, some gain the ability to gain
permanent enhancements if they devour enough negative emotions.
As such, this power is most often used in combination with a
partial hollow's abilities. In utilizing this aspect, this
allows partial hollows to get stronger based on the state of the
people around them, and in battle, can prove very dangerous to
opponents if the opponents don't control the negative emotions
being emitted (as partial hollows can just feed on them and grow
stronger). Some partial hollows can even grow stronger on their
own negative emotions, using their own negative emotions to
power their abilities. This is most prevalent in unique
abilities, where some unique abilities may feed on specific
abilities. However, in order to use this, partial hollows do
have to be within 20 feet of the source of whatever emotions
they are feeding on, and this doesn't actually hurt opponents
for the hollows to absorb the emotional energy as its released
into the air. And if a person controls the battlefield, such as
getting all the people away, they can usually control how much
(or how little) the partial hollow can absorb by getting rid of
the sources the partial hollow is feeding on the emotional
energy of. This is almost always temporary, and does wear off
after a while if the hollow doesn't keep absorbing emotional
energy.
While things like varanium and carbonadium
do work to stop a hollow's regeneration, spirit purification and
spirit destruction also temporarily stop a hollow's
regeneration, as those powers are meant specifically to counter
hollows. For partial hollows, combined partial hollows can use
this (though their hollow self must be in control to use this),
and conquered partial hollows just use this in their base state
(since thier base state is similar to hollows). This works for
partial hollows the same way it does for hollows.
Partial hollows
that use ceros can do so like any other hollow, though those
that are combined partial hollows can only use ceros when their
hollow is in control while conquered hollows can use these
whenever they want.
Partial hollows can only use this
when using hollow power, and the same rules apply to vizoreds
that apply to hollows who use this. Most partial hollows usually
need training or a guide to help them navigate the Garganta.
Unlike
vizoreds, some partial hollows do devour souls, though this is
up to the individual partial hollow on how or even if they want
to use this power. But it does work just like it does with
hollows as long as the user can utilize it (in which their
hollow power must be active).
For partial
hollows, partial hollows also have this skill, and the same
rules apply to them as other hollows (More spirit energy means
stronger Hierro, and stronger Hierro means less regeneration
power). Conquered partial hollows have this active passively all
the time, but combined partial hollows only use this power when
the hollow is in control.
For
partial hollows, this is usable passively for conquered partial
hollows but only active in combined partial hollows when the
hollow is in control, but it is one that any partial hollow can
learn to use to some degree if they find someone who can teach
it to them.
For partial
hollows, many use this instinctively, and can only use this like
any hollow. Conquered partial hollows are able to use it
passively and don't have any time they aren't able to use it,
but combined partial hollows can only use this when their hollow
side is in control.
For partial hollows, many
use this instinctively as well as hollowfied combat, and can
only use this like any hollow. Conquered partial hollows are
able to use it passively and don't have any time they aren't
able to use it, but combined partial hollows can only use this
when their hollow side is in control.
Fullbringer Base Abilities (For mortals more human than hollow):
- Fullbringer Amplified Power Manifestation: When it comes to
those known as Fullbringers, they do not have the same hollow
power as vizoreds and partial hollows. Unlike partial hollows,
Fullbringers are actually much more human and have much less
hollow power inside them. Fullbringers manifest their hollow
power very differently than vizoreds and partial hollows, as
their method of using the power of a hollow involves using it
uniquely in a way that won't corrupt them. As such, Fullbring is
perhaps the safest way to utilize hollow power, where there is
almost no risk (even in death or life or death situations) of a
Fullbringer losing control of their hollow because they just
don't have enough hollow power. Instead, Fullbringers focus on
technique and training in order to utilize their power uniquely.
Even though they aren't as powerful as vizoreds and partial
hollows in terms of raw power, Fullbringers are much more
skilled in the focus and combat training they use to hone their
abilities. The Fullbring powers are based more around amplifying
mortals up rather than using corruption, so Fullbring is very
rarely about corrupted power and more about amplifying their
spirit power using the Fullbring power. As such, this power
works radically differently than other hollow abilities and is
much more of a unique skillset than just a copy of the partial
hollow powers. While partial hollows tend to be more hollow than
mortal, this skillset is for those that are more mortal than
hollow and overcome what little corruption they have to gain
this power instead of normal hollow abilities. There are no
"conquered" or "combined" subsections with the Fullbringers, as
the Fullbringers all fall into the single category of just being
fullbringers (as anything else would fit more into the partial
hollow category. Fullbringers have not only applied the hollow
power, but some of them have also added certain spirit user
abilities in order to replicate certain abilities they can't use
(Such as using blasts of spirit energy using the spirit user
technique Spirit Gun rather than firing ceros as Fullbringers
cannot use ceros). As such, this power doesn't have the
weaknesses of spirit purification, and instead is more just an
extra skillset with slight power amplification. As such, while
this is a great skillset with little risk of losing control, it
also isn't nearly as strong due to how little hollow power is in
the body of Fullbringers (as they have minimal spirit power).
This means that it is very rare for a Fullbringer to become a
hollow or gain hollowfication without just becoming a partial
hollow and losing their Fullbring abilities except in very rare
circumstances. And since Fullbringers discard any hollow power
they don't need to use their Fullbring power, they usually don't
have enough to go into full hollow power (though there are some
that do gain some hollowfication abilities in rare cases).
- Fullbringer Ability: Spirit Power Calling: Unlike vizoreds who
need to have a way to manifest their hollow power, Fullbringers
are more like partial hollows in that they do not require any
external abilities to call on their Fullbring abilities.
Fullbringers, much like partial hollows, gain enhancements to
their base state that reflect their Fullbring nature. As such,
this releases an increased spirit pressure that powers a
Fullbringer's abilities. But unlike partial hollows or vizoreds,
this power is not dark and twisted, and is more just like
amplified normal mortal spirit energy (This is most common in
humans, but other races can become fullbringers). This is
similar to the normal release of spirit pressure, except that a
Fullbringer has enhanced spirit without needing to do anything
like activate hollow power. Thanks to this amplification, the
Fullbringer is easily able to call on their abilities by
utilizing their spirit energy, which powers their abilities. As
such, a Fullbringer becomes more about how to learn to tap into
their spirit energy, which gains a modified nature (more in next
base ability). There is no "supressing" or "teaming up with" a
hollow, and instead this is more about a mortal using their own
spirit energy with a slightly amplified nature. Fullbringers
learn to utilize their Fullbring abilities by learning to tap
into their spirit energy, which they must learn in order to
power their abilities. Unlike normal hollow powers, a
Fullbringer doesn't have the same instinct as partial hollows or
vizoreds to access the powers of a hollow, and they must learn
on their own (or with help from other Fullbringers) to learn how
to utilize this power. However, this is the most dependable
version of hollow power, because there is almost no risk of
losing control of it, and is more just an amplification of a
mortal's abilities along with adding another set of skills a
user can call on. While some can learn to take hollow forms (in
rare cases), it is uncommon for Fullbringers to have any other
way to call their power. As their power runs on spirit energy
and this ability to call on their abilities uses spirit energy
to power their abilities, a user can only use their Fullbring
abilities as long as they have the spirit energy to, and once
they run out, they will have to rest and regain their spirit
energy before they can use their Fullbring power again.
- Fullbringer Base Ability: Amplified Spirit Nature: For humans
or other mortals with Fullbring power, the first thing to note
when they gain awaken this power is that they gain an amplified
mortal spirit nature reflecting whatever race they are. While
they retain their normal soul, their spirit becomes a type of
amplified spirit. In this nature, the hollow power only works to
amplify the spirit (not corrupt it), and their spirit energy
remains that of their normal mortal state. This nature becomes a
permanent slight modification in their spirit, where their
Fullbringer powers will manifest thanks to this amplified
nature. For mortals, they will learn how to use this nature in a
few ways. This nature is what grants their Fullbringer
abilities, and the amplified nature of their spirit applies to
their spirit passively after being awakened. Unlike vizoreds and
partial hollows, there is no "inner hollow" for this power, and
the user simply gains the powers and learns to utilize them as
they train their spirit energy. In this spirit nature,
Fullbringers simply gain this amplified spirit nature with no
need to fight an "inner hollow". For the most part, this
amplified nature grants all of the Fullbring abilities, and this
nature is usually able to be sensed by others unless one knows
how to suppress this nature (which many do learn to suppress
their amplified natures). However, with any strength comes
weaknesses as well. Unlike partial hollows and vizoreds, spirit
purification doesn't do anything to Fullbringers (since they
don't have corrupted spirit energy), though spirit destruction
still works on them as it does with any other being with a
spirit/soul. Another thing to note is that Fullbringers don't
gain as much off an amplified nature as partial hollows and
vizoreds, to which some think it is the price paid for having
power that has little to no risk of corrupting them.
Fullbringers have to train their spirit, unlike hollows who use
their power instinctively. As such, Fullbringers are slower to
grow than hollows in power, because Fullbringers can only get
stronger by training themselves up and learning how to utilize
their abilities effectively. Their spirit energy can also be
countered just like any normal spirit energy (meaning that
normal spirit energy counters work against Fullbringers).
- Fullbringer Base Ability: Limelight Spirit Energy
Manipulation: Just as their spirit becomes a permanent amplified
nature, as does the Fullbringer's spirit energy, in which their
spirit energy gains enhanced ability. Thanks to this, their
spirit energy can still be used as normal, and works like any
mortal spirit energy except that this energy is a green hue that
includes their Bringer Light which is a light emited from their
spirit energy. For example, some Fullbringers may still learn
things like using spirit user abilities, but the arts would also
have an amplified energy affect on others. Not only is this
spirit energy amplified in nature, but this can also be used to
defend against those that eat souls, including being able to try
to poison soul eaters with their Bringer Light. This also works
on those that absorb soul energy, where the green spirit energy
does internal damage to any spirit energy absorber who tries to
absorb this energy, unless they have a skill that literally lets
them resist this spirit energy (which rare soul eaters may
have). And not only do mortals with this power also have
stronger spirit, but they also gain other abilities thanks to
this power (more later). When used, most Fullbringers have
enhanced spirit energy, and use it against enemies. Their
Bringer Light infused into their spirit energy does extra
damage, even though it doesn't quite have the same effects as
normal light (as in it cannot be used for things like
flashbangs, though it can be used for concentrated light attacks
when users concentrate and condense their spirit energy). It is
common for those with Fullbring power to have enhanced spirit
pressure coming from them even if it's not as powerful as normal
hollows or even partial hollows or vizoreds. Fullbringers have
the weakest spirit energy out of any of the other races that
gain hollow powers, and only make up for it with their unique
abilities and their focus and training. Of course, as one might
expect, this spirit energy is still countered like normal spirit
energy, as long as someone doesn't try to counter it by
absorbing it, and the Bringer Light part of the energy can be
countered with other energies (just basic energy is enough if
one is strong enough to overpower their spirit energy and
doesn't require any real complicated techniques to counter like
focusing darkness into a black hole).
- Fullbringer Base Ability: Suppressed Power Mortal
Presence:When using Fullbringer power, the Fullbringer power is
manifested as spirit pressure, exerted on the spirit energy of
the world around them. For stronger presences, their spirit
pressure is strong enough that it can release intense gravity on
others (if their spirit energy is strong, but this requires a
very strong spiritual presence only present in those with more
raw spirit power). For Fullbringers, they sense as normal human
souls/spirits, and have a suppressed presence (that many learn
in order to suppress their spirit pressure. In the case of
Fullbringers, many are unable to differentiate Fullbringers from
normal mortal beings, since Fullbringers usually suppress their
power to that of a normal human level when they're not using it
as a means to hide among crowds without standing out. This makes
it hard for other beings to sense what they are, unless the
Fullbringer is using their Fullbring power. For the most part,
unlike partial hollows and vizoreds, Fullbringers are much more
suppressed and subdued in power than other hollow races, and
only show their spirit energy when they are fighting (as they do
have to stop suppressing their power in order use their
Fullbring abilities). When the Fullbringer is using their power
actively, one can sense their amplified spirit pressure just as
one would expect, where others are able to sense the Fullbringer
power in the user. This means that Fullbringers have two states:
One where they stay suppressed and don't sense as anything other
than a normal mortal of whatever race they are, and their
amplified spiritual state that is released when they utilize
their Fullbringer powers (they don't sense as twisted, but more
as just amplified spirits of whatever they are). For the most
part, this only really covers how a Fullbringer's aura senses to
others, and doesn't really have much in terms of battle
abilities, other than strong enough spirit pressure can create
intense gravity in an area when a strong enough presence exerts
itself on an area (though with Fullbringers this is more rare
than other races since Fullbringers are not about raw power).
However, this can be resisted with force of will, or by others
with spirit powers similar in level to the pressure being
exerted (user doesn't have to be a corrupted spirit to counter
this).
- Fullbringer Main Ability: Fullbring Item Soul Manipulation:
This is the main power of the Fullbringers, for which they were
named. Unlike partial hollows who have unique hollow abilities,
Fullbringers don't utilize their own spirits, but focus on
utilizing another source of spirit power. Fullbring is all about
manipulating the spirits of objects (yes, objects do have their
own spirits), and Fullbringers have used this art in place of
things like zanpakutos, soul swords or even unique hollow
abilities. When used, this power allows a Fullbringer to
manipulate the soul of an object for a variety of uses, and
forms the backbone of a lot of abilities the user can utilize.
Unlike normal souls, the spirits in objects are not living
spirits, but more passive spirits. When manipulated, most
confuse this for telekinesis used on objects, but this power
goes beyond just manipulating objects. For example, a user might
manipulate a boulder by manipulating the spirit inside of it,
and throwing it at an opponent by manipulating the spirit of the
object. Some users can even utilize the spirits of armors and
weapons to strengthen them with their Fullbring power, such as
one armor user that was able to focus his fullbring power to
have the spirit energy of his armor harden around his armor like
a protective shield. There are many ways to use this power, and
unlike soul eaters, there is little to no risk in using this
power (perhaps a major reason Fullbringers took to using it).
When used, a Fullbringer can utilize this to control almost any
item as long as they are strong enough to influence it, such as
a Fullbringer may or may not be able to influence a concrete
wall, but may influence a portion of the wall. This can not only
manipulate objects, but may change the form of them using the
spirit energy of the item, such as a user might be able to turn
water into ice (though this may require unique skills to do so).
For the most part, this power is not for making one stronger,
but instead used for manipulating items in battle. This cannot
be used on organic beings or anything with a normal soul (Such
as this cannot be used on weapons with their own spirit, and
cannot be used on any organic being since their souls work
different from that of objects).
- Fullbringer Ability: Unique Fullbring Item/Items: All
Fullbringers gain at least one item that gains unique abilities.
Since Fullbringers don't usually have soul swords or zanpakutos
like death wraiths and soul reapers, they instead have unique
items in their Fullbring abilities. Typically, this power
manifests itself in objects close to the heart of the
Fullbringer, where items they feel the most strongly towards
(For better or worse) will usually get empowered by this power.
Many Fullbringers get one item to use as their unique item, but
some can gain multiple items. These items grant special
abilities when used, and some can even be used to transform a
user into a more powerful Fullbring state similar to an
arrancar's release state (But using normal spirit power and not
using hollow power). When unique Fullbring items are empowered,
Fullbring items are usually activated in battle to use against
enemies, or for users to transform into Fullbring states. There
are a number of ways one can attain such a power, such as one
had the ability to get stronger as they took damage. This
depends on the person, and the ability gained is usually
connected to the person's power in some form. For example,
Olympus universe Fomoire's Fullbring, Dark and Dark, reflects
his darkness abilities in his ability of two of his most
treasured items to utilize darkness in unique ways. There are
many examples of items and powers that one could gain, so it is
impossible to list them all, but mostly it just depends on how
the power manifests. To some extent, the skill of the user at
using their power and how they manifest other powers also seems
to reflect how they use Fullbring, in which Fullbring can
manifest similar to other abilities. For example, of a person's
specialty is summoning abilities, their Fullbring item may most
likely grant them the ability to summon something (though what
it would summon is dependent on the user, the item and just how
the power decides to manifest). This is hard to predict for each
person, and each person usually doesn't have beyond 2-3 unique
items. Each of these items will have strengths and weaknesses
which have to be listed by the player since each one is
different.
- Forbidden Fullbringer Art: Soul Reading/ Fullbringer/Hollow
Power Absorption: This is an ability that Fullbringers can use,
though it is often considered a forbidden ability. When a
Fullbringer encounters a hollow or another Fullbringer, the
Fullbringer has the ability to steal the unique Fullbring or
hollow abilities of another hollow or Fullbringer, essentially
taking their power for themselves. This power is quite similar
to the soul stealing power of hollows, except that this is
specifically geared towards hollows and Fullbringers. Not only
are Fullbringers able to steal these powers, they also have the
ability to read souls of people who might have powers they can
take, where they can interact with souls. Even though
Fullbringers don't really interact with souls that much (as they
interact more with the spirits of objects than focusing on
spirits/souls), they can interact with souls, and can tell when
a soul or spirit has powers that they can take. This is not a
soul steal ability, but more of just a special ability steal.
When used, Fullbringers can take all of a hollow's power, or all
of a Fullbringer's power which will not kill the Fullbringer or
hollow, but will leave them with little to no power they can
access. This power only requires physical touch, and a
Fullbringer can use this to take any powers they are able to
take. For example, one Fullbringer stole the abilities of
another Fullbringer in order to power up his Fullbring and gain
new techniques (which he did until he was defeated). This power
is extremely useful, but is seen as a way to shortcut getting
stronger through training, which some Fullbringers have been
guilty of. However, there is also another use for this, and that
is among allies. If an ally is going to die, they can pass on
their Fullbring power to another, in which some allies give
their power to allies if they are convinced they are going to
die. This power does require physical contact, and a Fullbringer
has to know that the user has powers they can take. Depending on
the user, some may have a harder time taking power forcefully,
and may have to keep contact with the person until their power
is fully drained. Unlike some other power absorptions, this is
an all or nothing power absorption (in which either all the
power has to be absorbed to gain the power or none if it sticks
to the user who is trying to take the power). And Fullbringers
can always try to gain their power back by reabsorbing it using
this art (as other Fullbringers can still try to take their
power back. This also only works on hollow or Fullbring power,
and doesn't work on any other powers.
- Fullbringer Art: Limelight Regeneration: Those that know
anything about hollows know just how dangerous their
regeneration is. Like hollows, Fullbringers are able to
regeneration, where they use their spirit energy to regenerate
in a burst of Bringer Light often referred to as Limelight
Regeneration (due to the green light the spirit energy gives
off). Fullbringers regeneration similar to hollows, and
regenerate extremely fast. This is a passive skill used by
Fullbringers, where they are able to regenerate passively.
However, if a Fullbringer does need to regenerate faster, they
can focus on their regeneration if they have a chance to
concentrate and regenerate faster as a result. This power is
able to be used by almost every Fullbringer in some form.
Typically, Fullbringers, like hollows are able to regenerate any
body part aside from being able to regenerate their head and
their vital organs. Fullbringers have been able to regenerate
limbs, regenerate some organs, and many can even regenerate
their Fullbring items (as long the item isn't destroyed). For
the most part, Fullbringers don't have special arts for
regeneration, but some do have special arts that take advantage
of their regeneration. This power works much like normal
regeneration except that this power doesn't run on energy, but
instead seems to work instinctively. Unlike hollows,
Fullbringers don't have unlimited regeneration, and their
regeneration stops working if they run out of spirit energy
since their regeneration works on spirit energy. Among other
ways the regeneration will stop working is if a vital is
destroyed (that cannot be fixed), or something that negates the
Fullbringer's regeneration is used. For the most part, any
regeneration negation usually works, as long as the user doesn't
have an immunity to it. Fullbringers can use this as long as
they have the energy to do so, but if they run out of spirit
energy, they will have to wait till they recover before this
skill can be used again. And as mentioned, they cannot
regenerate certain parts of the body.
- Fullbringer Art: Bringer Light Spirit User Techniques: This
training is designed to make up for the lack of ability for
Fullbringers to fire ceros. Instead of using ceros like hollows
(since Fullbringers lack the ability), Fullbringers instead
borrow techniques from the Spirit User race, where they learn to
utilize spirit techniques using their spirit energy. Because
Fullbringers are a bit unique in how they use spirit energy,
they have amplified spirit energy with Bringer Light that can be
used for stronger spirit techniques. Among such examples include
beams of spirit energy that act similar to ki beams (and can be
used similarly to a hollow's cero). Another skill often used is
the Spirit Gun, where a user focuses their spirit into a
concentrated blast that can be used to blast enemies. There are
a number of Spirit User techniques and skills, and some
Fullbringers may even develop their own skills depending on
their abilities. Depending on the race, it is also possible that
Fullbringers may have other spiritual aspects depending on their
skillsets, such as a demon with Fullbring power would have
demonic spirit energy mixed with Bringer Light. Each race has
different spirit energy, but one constant among Fullbringers is
that all their spirit energy contains Bringer Light in some
form, which is a unique aspect of the Fullbringer's spirit. This
can be combined with other spirit energy abilities for unique
skills, such as a demon's fullbring could involve their spirit
energy being far more potent like a demon's but also contain the
amplified Bringer Light spirit of a Fullbring power. Users that
learn enough about spirit user skills may even become spirit
users as a result of their training in copying spirit user
techniques, which will often result in some Fullbringers
learning to focus their spirit energy further. For the most
part, most of these arts have their own strengths and
weaknesses, such as spirit gun can be dodged or blocked by
strong enough defenses. Each art used should be listed for
strengths and weaknesses (players can use the upcoming spirit
user update for spirit technique ideas or make up their own).
- Fullbringer Art: Bringer Light Teleportation: Because
Fullbringers don't have the ability to access the Garganta (as
they don't have enough hollow power to be able to open up the
realm), they instead developed a teleportation technique to get
around using their spirit energy's Bringer Light. When used, a
Fullbringer can teleport almost anywhere they want to go, and
can even move between realms by using their spirit energy to
open up ways to other realms. By releasing a bit of spirit
energy, a Fullbringer is able to teleport almost anywhere
similar to a hollow. When in using this, a user only needs to
know where they want to go, and they can travel there. This
doesn't require traversing any realms that one doesn't want to
and can be used to go to any realm as long as the user knows how
to access the realm (For example, they could not access a realm
like the Soul Reaper realm unless they knew how to access it
through the Dangai, the gateway between the Soul Society and the
living world). Any Fullbringer can learn this, as well as go
almost anywhere they want to go. The biggest danger though for
Fullbringers is if they go to a realm they don't fully
understand, and if they don't know what they're going to
encounter it can be a bad experience for them (such as one who
went to the shadow realm to meet the death wraiths and ended up
in a dangerous shadow area where shadow beings almost killed
them). As such, this does require a Fullbringer to know where
they want to go, and that they have enough spirit energy to
create the portal to where they want to go (as this requires
spirit energy to go where they want to go). If one wants to
learn to teleport using this method, this takes training and
experience, as it is an art that usually has to be taught by a
Fullbringer in order for them to learn how to access other
realmsAnd those that don't know where they're going can end up
lost, especially if they get lost in between realms, which could
land them in the void between dimensions (which would be bad) if
they're not careful, or somewhere they really don't want to go.
- Fullbringer Ability: Fullbringer Spirit Defense: This
technique is designed for Fullbringers to use in place of the
hollow art Hierro and is a very similar technique. In this art,
a Fullbringer's spirit energy strengthens their skin
considerably, where the Fullbringer gains extremely tough skin
as a result of their spiritual power. This acts like armor on
the Fullbringer, making it harder to damage them. As one might
imagine, this makes attacking a Fullbringer much more difficult,
as their spirit defense can block weaker attacks with some even
being able to stop bladed weapons with a strong enough spirit
energy. When it comes to this art, the more spirit energy a user
has, the stronger their spirit defense is (Making the strength
of the defense usually proportional to the power of the
Fullbringer). However, some Fullbringers have specifically
trained this skill, and honed it through combat training
(usually among higher level users that train their spirit
energy). Typically, Fullbringers with less regeneration ability
have stronger spirit defense than those with stronger
regeneration, though there are certain exceptions to this rule.
Depending on the Fullbringer, some can defend against bladed
weapons, and some can even resist bullets. Depending on the
strength of the defense, there are some Fullbringers that have
skin similar to dragon skin in terms of strength. Typically, in
order to break this, an opponent must either hit the Fullbringer
with stronger attacks, or they must focus their attacks to try
and pierce the defense more effectively (which can be effective
for those with more focused combat styles, as focus has proven
very effective against similar skills in the past). Fullbringers
with this power are dependent on the strength of their spirit
energy, and while stronger spirit energies will usually have
stronger defense, weaker spirit energies will have weaker
defense as well. And when a Fullbringer gains this skill, their
regeneration abilities may increase or decrease to adapt to the
defense's hardness. Those with stronger defense have less
regeneration due to the fact that the defense is harder to
repair if damaged, but weaker defenses have stronger
regeneration since they can use full regeneration without any
issues. For Fullbringers, their spirit defense is active as long
as they have spirit energy, and if they run out, this power will
not be able to be used until the Fullbringer recovers their
spirit energy.
- Fullbringer Ability: Fullbringer Spirit Sense: This is a
unique spirit sense that is specific to Fullbringers. This
allows a fullbringer to sense spirit energy that can read
environments, specifically other sources of spirit energy around
them. This has two major uses. The first is that a user is able
to read people's presence, determining who and what they are
similar to other spirit senses. The second use is for the user
to sense the spirits of objects they can manipulate (using this
to sense the spirits in objects. In the world, everything (even
objects) has spirit energy, so this acts like a sense for almost
everything around the Fullbringer. This is more of a general
sense, and done to allow one to be able to sense people and
objects around a user. However, when used on a person, this does
read a person's spirit energy and allow a user to read how much
spirit energy one has, as well as sense what they are based on
the presence they give off (assuming they are not a creature
that has a suppressed presence). Unlike the hollow Pesquisa,
this is a general sense of spirits, and allows a user to sense
everything around them (unlike Pesuisa, Fullbringers cannot
focus on specific presences, and sense everything in a given
area). Advanced users are even able to focus and sense things
over a wider area, or attempt to focus more to try and find
those that might try to hide from their senses. Unlike some
spirit sense powers, this power takes effort and time to learn,
so Fullbringers cannot just instinctively become advanced users
of this. Users that use this may require time and concentration
when starting out, and even advanced users may have to focus
more to sense around a wider area, which could leave them open
to counterattack by others in the area. And unless one has a
very strong sense of this, this cannot sense those that suppress
their presence. Unlike the hollow Pesquisa, Fullbringers cannot
predict their opponents, and they can only use this to read an
area to see what souls are around them and what objects they can
manipulate. As such, this is different from the Pesquisa of
hollows enough that the Fullbringers do utillize it a bit
differently than hollows use their Pesquisa.
- Fullbringer Ability: Fullbringer Combat: This combat style is
the Fullbringer's method of physical combat. Because the
Fullbringers cannot use the instinctive combat of hollows and
their powers work differently, they had to adapt their own
combat. This style of combat is based around using the souls of
objects around them, in which they use their Fullbring power in
physical combat. This is more of a general style of combat than
a real combat style, and mostly is used on top of whatever
fighting styles a Fullbringer possesses or has trained in. When
using this style, a Fullbringer uses their own martial arts or
combat knowledge, and uses this in conjunction with it. As such,
this is a style of combat that can be added to almost any combat
style. When used, this style allows a Fullbringer to use their
Fullbring to manipulate the souls of objects in combat, such as
many will often start by using the soul of the air around them
and focus it into their attacks to create impact waves and
reduce friction and wind resistance of their attacks. They can
also do things like manipulate the soul of the earth in the
ground to do things like push them up higher (meaning they can
jump higher), or move with the spirit of the earth in the ground
to move in a way that allows them to move faster as they're
boosted by manipulating the ground. While this is far from being
elemental manipulation, this basic combat aspect allows a
Fullbringer a method of boosting themselves in combat, and
amping their strength in speed based on how they interact with
the environment around them. And by manipulating the air around
them, a user can even create shockwaves from their attacks, such
as a punch that can send its forward momentum through the air as
a shockwave to hit opponents not in combat range. Typically,
this style is more about technique than instinct like hollow
power, so this style requires training to use effectively.
Fullbringers who learn this style can still be countered by
other combat styles, and how well they use this depends on their
own training and abilities. As any style, there are always ways
to counter the style, and more experienced or trained opponents
may be able to counter this style.
- Fullbringer Combat Ability: Bringer Light: This is a high
speed movement technique that was created by the Fullbringers.
This was made to be somewhat similar to hollow Sonido, or soul
reaper Flashstep. This technique is designed in the same manner,
where a Fullbringer uses their power to move far faster. This
style is designed to work with a Fullbringer's combat, where a
Fullbringer utilizes their power to accelerate their movement in
a mostly supernatural style. There are a few aspects to this
ability. The first is that the user can manipulate the soul of
the earth under them in order to manipulate its elasticity in
order to accelerate their movements. The second is that users
can use the soul of the air around them to boost their speed,
having the air push them, and even using the air as a stepping
stone. When used, there are a variety of ways to utilize it, but
most of the time, this is used to accelerate one's movement
speed combined with a stepping method that allows one to more
easily move. Similar to techniques like Sonido or Flashstep,
this technique allows one to move at high speeds, and allows one
to almost appear to vanish when in motion. One thing that many
will notice is that instances of this ability being used always
come with the release of the green Bringer Light at the user's
feet, which signals the use of their Fullbring power to utilize
this technique. As one might imagine, this technique can be used
to also use high speed movement to do things like closing
distances between a user and their opponent, or more advanced
users can even leave afterimages similar to that of Sonido or
Flashstep users. When in motion, a user is very hard to track,
and as long as they are in motion, they can move at speeds that
make them almost impossible to see. However, as one might guess,
similar to other styles, there are users that can counter this
with other similar high speed stepping methods, and other faster
opponents may be able to still keep up with this skill. However,
even if one can't keep up with a user, the user will usually
come back into view before they attack, though more advanced
users may attack while in motion. While most have trouble
tracking them, there are those that can keep up with this style
of movement, usually with enhanced senses or being able to see
faster opponent movements. This is comparable to Sonido and
Flashstep, so opponents that can see through those techniques
will also be able to see through this. Also, the release of the
Bringer Light from the feet of the user is usually signals when
they use this technique.
Cero Abilities (Users can choose up to 5-6 cero arts, and may
choose 1 extra cero type if they desire):
- Customized Cero Arts: Developed by Arrancars and Vasto Lorde,
these cero arts are different ways to use ceros among higher
level hollows. After the arrancars developed these arts, they
started being used by other hollows who started training in
them. There are two main aspects to the art of using these cero
abilities. The first is cero type, where the first step is
choosing what kind of cero one wants to fire. Most normal
hollows, arrancars and other hollow beings usually only learn
normal ceros, but in rare cases, there are other ways to utilize
other ceros. For example, higher level arrancars and vasto lorde
developed the Gran Rey Cero and the Cero Oscuras to be used
among higher level hollows. However, those like vizoreds and
partial hollows can learn to fire other ceros if they have the
ability to combine other powers with their ceros, such as
Olympus universe Kindron Darkfire (The Tartarus version) who
could fire immense darkness ceros using his aura's energy that
became his own unique ceros, and alternate Kindron Whitefire who
learned to fire ceros of positive energy (though he doesn't have
hollow power, he developed a positive equivalent of ceros to
fire using his own power). The second aspect of this power is
what art one wants to use. Thanks to the Arrancars having
multiple arts, and a few unique techniques that were adapted
into Cero arts, the hollows have had quite a few arts they've
developed. There are many arts that use ceros in different
techniques, such as Cero Rayo that fires smaller and more
concentrated ceros like beams, or Cero Metralleta that fires a
collection of cero blasts in a large volley. These arts can be
combined with other cero types depending on what the user wants
to do, and those with hollow power are able to learn how to
utilize this. This is something even partial hollows and
vizoreds can learn to use (if they are able to fire ceros). Of
course, every ability comes with weaknesses, so users have to be
mindful of counters to the skills. Most of these skills are
energy based, and countering energy can be done easily enough if
one has energy that is strong enough to counter the attacks.
- Unique Ceros: Among different kinds of ceros, there are
actually more unique types of ceros than actual hollow type
ceros. Usually, unique ceros are most common among hollow
hybrids, or other creatures who gain hollow abilities (such as
vizoreds and partial hollows). Depending on the skillset, a user
can create unique ceros to combine with their unique abilities
if they have unique energies they can combine with their ceros.
One of the more common examples are those that combine negative
or positive energy with their ceros, such as the alternate
Kindron Whitefire who created a positive cero using positive
spirit energy that created a unique "holy" cero. Another example
is in Olympus's universe where former Tartarus lord Kindron
Darkfire could fire negative dark powered ceros that used his
aura's darkness to create a unique type of Cero Oscuras and his
own demonic ceros to fire at opponents. There are many other
forms of ceros that unique beings can fire, in which there are
too many to list here. However, the thing to remember is that
there are many people who can combine unique abilities they
might possess. This is most common when combining ceros with
other energies, in which other energies can be combined with
them such as Zandrick Darkfire who can fire a dark flame cero
using dark flames combined with his cero power. Ceros are
surprisingly adaptable and can be molded and changed depending
on what abilities or energies one has. It is extremely difficult
to quantify every type of cero out there, as there can be a lot
of unique skills, but the major thing to remember is that every
cero type is usually designed for destruction (in which the
ceros are designed to either cause physical damage to objects or
people/opponents). And depending on the cero, some may even have
unique effects depending on the arts and cero style used. If one
wants to counter ceros, most can be countered like normal ceros
(in which the best way is just to either dodge it or use some
kind of energy to counter it as long as its strong enough). Any
unique effects can usually be overcome depending on the effects
(Players must list any unique ceros and effects since many may
have unique ceros).
- Cero Type: Gran Rey Cero: This particular cero was designed by
arrancars to be used among higher level hollows and arrancars.
This is a high level cero that is far stronger than normal
ceros. This cero is fired by having a hollow fuse their blood
into their cero, which the life energy in the blood is used as a
catalyst to amplify the cero considerably. By doing this, a user
can fire a cero with far more raw power than normal ceros. In
addition, this cero also has much greater mass than normal
ceros, making it harder to dodge as well. This cero is used by
higher level hollows, arrancars and even some vizoreds and
partial hollows, where they can learn to utilize this if they
learn to use the blood's energy properly in amplifying the cero.
The biggest reason to use this cero is that it is far more
powerful and harder to dodge, so users would likely be able to
use this in battle to take out stronger opponents or even attack
groups of enemies. This cero is fired much like a normal cero,
and depending how much blood is put into the cero, one can
modify it's strength (more blood means more power). Users can
even combine Gran Rey with cero techniques depending on how they
do it, such as how Olympus universe Ichigo Kurosaki is able to
fire Gran Rey cero slashing waves alongside his Getsuga Tensho
from his zanpakutos. Users can learn to use this after they
reach a certain level of power, as the amplification can
overwhelm some users if they are not strong enough to handle the
amplification. Aside from the blood amplification, this is fired
like a normal cero, and often is the same color and shape as the
user's normal cero (whatever color and shape it normally is as
it is different depending on the user) with the exception that
gran rey ceros are just much stronger and a bit larger than
normal ceros. For the most part, dodging or blocking these ceros
works the same way, in which users can dodge or block the energy
in the ceros as long as the opponent takes into account the
amplified energy used in this technique. Otherwise, techniques
similar in nature like ki beams or spirit energy blasts work
well to counter this.
- Cero Type: Cero Oscuras: This particular cero was designed by
arrancars to be used among the highest level hollows and
arrancars. With this cero, this is designed to be used by the
highest level hollows and arrancars, and can only be fired by
those at vasto lorde level. This cero is not large and flashy as
the gran rey, and is more condensed than the gran rey. This is
the highest level of cero a user can use (aside from possible
stronger unique ceros), and users of this art focus on power
over size since this cero isn't quite as large as a normal cero.
When fired, a user uses their spirit energy to trap and condense
dark energy into a cero blast, where the dark energy works as a
massive amplifier when the cero is fired and is fired much
faster than a normal cero (to the point that many who fire
normal ceros have trouble tracking this type of cero). When
fired, this cero is usually black with a colored outline
depending on the user's normal cero color (Such as Ulquiorra
Cifer fired a black cero with a green outline). When used, this
cero is meant to concentrate power rather than be used for a
large area of effect (Meaning it's better for blasting single
opponents rather than attacking groups). This cero can also be
fired just like normal ceros, where the blast is fired in
whatever manner the user fires ceros (such as some fire ceros
from their hands, their fingers or from their mouth). This cero
can also be combined with other cero arts, and depending on the
cero arts, this cero type can be extremely powerful. This cero
requires not only a mastery of concentrating cero energy, but
also requires a knowledge of how to trap and compress dark
energy using one's spirit energy (as a cero is essentially a
blast of hollow spirit energy). Of course, this cero can be
dodged and blocked like any other cero, as long as the user
takes into account the fact that this cero is the strongest cero
type a hollow can fire before getting into unique ceros. This
cero is far more powerful, so dodging is often better than
blocking if an opponent is unsure of being able to block it.
This can be blocked in the same manner as other beams of energy
(Such as using a similar beam of energy like a ki beam or spirit
energy blast to counter it). This is also smaller than a normal
cero, so it can be slightly easier to dodge if an opponent is
fast enough.
- Cero Art: Cero Bala: When ceros aren't fast enough to hit an
opponent, arrancars developed this art as a means to counter
faster opponents. Cero bala is a skill that allows a user to
fire smaller, more compact shots of cero energy. This skill is
no longer a beam of energy, but more like a condensed blast of
cero energy that explodes on impact. When fired, this cero is
fired extremely fast, and can be used to attempt to blast people
with enhanced speed stats. This was designed for speed over
power, where a user can fire slightly weaker shots much faster
than normal ceros. However, the ceros don't just travel faster,
as a user can also fire them in quick succession. Users of this
technique can often fire one after another extremely quickly.
This cero is fired in the same manner that a user fires normal
ceros, so a user will fire them just like normal ceros except
that the ceros are fired in smaller blasts rather than as a
large beam of energy. More advanced users of this are even able
to fire one after another in quick succession, usually as a
means to try and blast opponents quickly. When the blasts
explode, the blasts explosion of energy does kinetic energy
damage, as a means to make up for some of the lack of damage
this attack causes (as power is lost when using this technique).
When used, these ceros also cost less energy (since less energy
is being used in the ceros) so these ceros are also useful
against weaker opponents instead of wasting stronger ceros. For
the most part, this is a pretty basic cero technique, and one
that many cero users can learn as it only requires a simple
change in focusing the energy for the cero (in changing the
quantity of energy and slight modification of compacting
energy). However, while these are extremely fast and can be
fired far more times than normal ceros, these ceros are not as
powerful as normal ceros, which is their biggest weakness. Users
usually compensate for this by firing them in quick succession
to try and hit people with multiple blasts, but overall, the
lack of damage by the blasts means opponents won't take as much
damage. And some faster opponents can still dodge them despite
how fast they are.
- Cero Art: Cero Disparo: This technique fires blasts of ceros
not too different from the bala technique. However, instead of
focusing on speed, the blasts are more focused on being made
more explosive in nature. Like the Bala technique, this cero
blast is more like a condensed blast of cero energy that
explodes on impact. When fired, this cero is fired extremely
fast (though not as fast as the bala technique), and can be used
to attempt to blast people with enhanced speed stats. This was
designed to be more explosive, where a user can focus more on
explosive power than on speed or raw spiritual strength. In
order to use this technique, a cero user has to change the
energy when creating the cero blasts, using a change in energy
form to essentially condense and compress the energy to the
point that when it hits something, the blast explodes with
immense force. The explosive power is designed to blast
opponents, so that when the blast hits an opponent the blast can
do far more damage on impact through kinetic force rather than
doing energy damage. This is meant to overcome certain energy
defenses, as kinetic energy can still be somewhat useful against
those with things like aura defense. When using this technique,
it is not fired as fast or in as quick succession as the bala
technique, but can be fired quickly compared to normal ceros
since the technique is designed to create explosions. These
blasts are fairly balanced in strength and speed, and can be
very useful when used properly. Some advanced users can even
create explosive ceros using stronger ceros for unique effects,
such as one who could fire cero oscuras Disparo blasts that
exploded in bursts of darkness energy that could crush opponents
caught in the explosion using immense gravitational force. For
the most part, this technique is somewhat like the bala
technique in terms of how to counter it, where users counter the
blast rather than a beam of energy. Opponents mostly just have
to counter the explosive kinetic energy released from the blast,
and if they can do that, then this technique can be blocked.
Opponents can also dodge this attack if they are fast enough to
dodge the attack.
- Cero Rayo: This is one of the cero techniques that fire
smaller cero beams. This technique fires small beams that can be
fired from the hands or from the fingers, in which users have
focused ceros into smaller blasts. When firing these blasts,
these blasts are very narrow and small, because they're designed
for piercing opponents. These ceros can be used to pierce
through many forms of defenses, and can even be used to pierce
through energy defenses. In order to use this technique, cero
users first have to use a change in energy form in order to
condense a normal cero into a much smaller and condensed form,
which allows a normal cero to hit a much smaller area (using the
same amount of energy as a normal cero). When firing these
ceros, they move much like normal ceros and are fired in the
same way as a normal cero (whether it's from the hand, from the
finger, or from the mouth depending on the cero user). These
also move faster than normal ceros, in which they are designed
for speed and piercing over all else. This technique can also be
fired in quick succession, where users can fire one cero rayo
after another (though not as fast as firing cero balas usually).
This technique is designed to pierce defenses, and this
technique does that fairly well depending on the defense. This
can even be used with other cero types to create more powerful
ceros, though this cero technique is usually strong enough on
its own that using higher level ceros is usually a waste of
energy since normal cero rayos are usually able to do what
they're meant to do. This technique is very difficult to block,
and the only real successful blocking technique is using
abilities or items that negate energy completely, as this can
pierce through even most energy type defenses. However, while
fast, this beam is more easily dodged due to its small size, and
dodging is typically the best way to avoid being hit by this
cero since it is easier to dodge. Another downside to this cero
type is that the smaller energy beam does less damage, and
unless one is hit in a vital (sometimes taking a few hits), this
technique rarely ever truly kills an opponent.
- Intermediate Cero Art: Cero Cornea: This technique is very
similar in nature to the cero rayo, with the exception that this
technique is made for sneak attacks rather than just normal
attacks. Similar to cero rayo, this technique focuses a cero
that is focused into a much smaller cero, where it is designed
for piercing rather than for trying to incinerate opponents.
When used, this technique is always fired from the eye, where a
user focuses it like a laser from their eye to fire at an
opponent. When fired, the beam moves depending on where the
user's pupil is looking, and fires the beam toward whatever the
user is looking at. This technique is extremely fast, and very
powerful, in which this technique is actually stronger than cero
rayo. When fired, this blast can not only pierce through objects
and energy defenses, but this technique is also strong enough to
blast through and destroy boulders when fired on. This technique
is also very fast, where users can fire with incredible speed to
try and hit opponents that have enhanced speed. Unlike the Cero
Rayo, which is designed for rapid succession firing, this
technique takes longer in between shots, where the user has to
charge this for a moment before they fire it. This means that
this technique is more of a one shot at a time type technique
and not a technique a user can just fire over and over again in
rapid succession. This technique was originally designed for
surprise attacks, where a user would use it on unsuspecting
opponents who don't know they can use this technique. When used,
this technique is meant to be used as a sneak attack, and is
designed to be fired with immense speed and strength to do
maximum damage to an opponent. When an opponent is hit with
this, not only does it do incredible damage as it passes through
an opponent, it also reverberates and causes internal damage
like breaking of bones and tearing of muscles due to the power
of this technique. This technique is more of a one shot attempt
at doing fatal damage rather than just firing beams of piercing
energy, but this technique can still be dodged just like cero
rayo. And since the energy charges in the eye, the direction the
cero is fired is dependent on where the user is looking.
- Intermediate Cero Art: Cero Doble: This technique was one that
was designed to counter other energy beams, in which users would
learn to combine their attacks. This technique allows a user to
absorb an energy attack, usually inhaling the attack and then
firing it back at an opponent. When the user inhales or absorbs
the energy, they don't just fire it normally though, as they mix
in their own cero into the attack to create a much stronger
blast. The original technique was only originally designed to
work on absorbing ceros, but cero users eventually figured out
how to mix in other energies to also allow this technique to be
used with other energies. For example, if a user tried to fire a
beam of ki at a user of this technique, the user could absorb or
inhale the attack, and then fire it back at an opponent. When
used, this is all done extremely quickly, where the user absorbs
or inhales the attack and then fires it at the opponent with
their own cero almost immediately. This is designed to catch
opponents off guard when their attack is used against them, and
is designed to allow a user to turn an attack on an opponent
with their cero added in to prevent the user from being able to
simply reabsorb the energy (as the cero also works like a
corruption energy that damages the opponent if they try to
absorb it). If done correctly and fast enough, the user will
often catch the opponent off guard when the user sends their
attack back at them. And since this also adds a user's own cero
to the original attack, the attack becomes more powerful
(usually doubling the strength of the original attack using the
cero). As such, this is very useful against other energy users,
as users can essentially turn back many attacks back on
opponents. However, this often only really works in beam style
energy blasts, or larger energy blasts. Since the user doesn't
actually process the energy, the user doesn't take damage from
the energy, as they immediately eject it. Of course, fast enough
reactions can allow opponents to dodge this or block this
technique depending on the opponent's stats and reaction
abilities.
- Intermediate Cero Art: Cero Sincretico: This technique is
similar to Cero Doble, except that instead of absorbing or
inhaling an enemy attack, a user focuses their attack alongside
an ally. While hollows are not known for working together, there
were a few arrancars that did develop this technique in order to
allow them to use ceros together. This technique was eventually
adapted to be used among other hollows, but also to be used with
other allies that may not be cero users. When used, a user
combines their cero with an ally's attack, where a user fires
the cero combining it with an ally. While this was originally
designed to combine two ceros together, users eventually started
combining their ceros with other energy users, such as one who
combined their powers with a spirit user and fired a combined
spirit beam/cero technique. When used, this technique allows
users to combine attacks for much stronger attacks, where the
two attacks together are stronger than the two attacks would be
apart once combined together. And once some cero users become
advanced cero users, some can even utilize this on their own to
combine two different attacks they possess together, or some
will even concentrate two ceros and combine them. This can be
used a variety of ways, and can combine many forms of energy
techniques together as long as the two users can combine their
powers effectively. This is a slightly more difficult ability to
master, as it not only requires two people working together, but
they must work together in perfect sync, where they must combine
their powers together at the same time. If one makes a mistake,
the two attacks may not blend properly or might not even work
correctly (sometimes it can result in the attack exploding in
the users' faces). Of course, if this technique is used, it is
still a projectile attack that can be dodged or blocked (though
these blasts tend to be quite powerful, so dodging is usually
recommended unless one is sure they have the means to block the
power of the attacks). Some users have even been able to
separate the two attacks if the two attacks don't blend
completely, which can result in some pulling the two attacks
apart and diffusing the technique.
- Intermediate Cero Fuerza: This technique was designed by a
vizored, and eventually this technique was copied and a new
technique was created. This technique allows a cero user to
combine physical attacks with their ceros, such as the original
user of this who would use ceros in her kicks. Depending on how
its used, this art can fire waves of ceros from physical
attacks, and is a very useful cero technique for those that are
close combat specialists or martial artists. When used, this
technique releases a cero based on an attack, released as a wave
that is fired toward opponents. When used, a user needs only
focus the cero to the part of the body they want to attack with
(such as focusing to the leg for a kick or focusing to the arm
for a punch). The user then does a kick to create a cero wave
and transfers their kinetic energy into the wave. Once the
physical attack creates the cero wave, the attack is then fired
at opponents using the kinetic energy of the original attack. As
an example, the original user of this skill would do a kick
upward, and when the kick traveled upward, it would create a
cero wave that would then fire at the opponent when the opponent
did the kick. When the cero hits, the kinetic force of the
attack is transferred through the cero on to of the cero
exploding, thus causing extra damage. This technique is designed
for doing physical damage to opponents, as it is a way of
transferring kinetic force of physical attacks similar to how
shockwave combat can. This technique can also be used to hit
opponents with a physical attack and then have the cero
reinforce their attack, such as a kick on a large target could
have the cero explode to reinforce the power of the kick. This
technique can be used with almost any physical attack, though
the strength of the attack determines how strong the cero wave
will be (meaning stronger physical attacks or faster physical
attacks relate to how strong or fast the cero will be). As one
might imagine, this technique can be dodged or blocked just
normal ceros, as long as one takes into account the physical
force of the wave.
- Advanced Cero Art: Cero Raja: This technique is very similar
to the cero fuerza in nature, where a cero is used to transfer
kinetic energy and fire a wave using that kinetic energy.
However, in the case of Cero Raja, this is designed to create
slashing waves that can be fired at opponents. Unlike cero
fuerza, this technique is usually used alongside a weapon.
Depending on how its used, this art can fire waves of ceros from
physical or weapon based attacks, and is a very useful cero
technique for those that are want to use their weapons in
combat. When used, this technique releases a cero based on an
attack, released as a wave that is fired toward opponents. When
used, a user needs only focus the cero to the weapon they want
to attack with (though advanced users might create slashing
waves using physical attacks instead of weapons). The user then
does a swipe with the weapon to create a cero wave and transfers
their kinetic energy into the wave. Once the attack creates the
cero wave, the attack is then fired at opponents using the
kinetic energy of the original attack. When the cero hits, the
kinetic force of the attack is transferred through the cero on
to of the cero exploding, thus causing extra damage. This
technique is designed for doing slashing damage to opponents, as
it is a way of transferring kinetic force of weapon (usually
swords) attacks similar to how shockwave combat can. This
technique can also be used to hit opponents with a physical
slashing attack and then have the cero reinforce their attack,
such as a slashing attack on a large target could have the cero
explode to reinforce the power of the weapon slash. This
technique can be used with almost any weapon attack (including
being able to combine with certain special weapon
energies/abilities), though the strength of the attack
determines how strong the cero wave will be (meaning stronger
attacks or faster attacks relate to how strong or fast the cero
will be). As one might imagine, this technique can be dodged or
blocked just normal ceros, as long as one takes into account the
physical and slashing force of the wave.
- Advanced Cero Art: Cero Trueno: This technique was designed as
a higher level cero art that would not just fire cero energy,
but would also be used to gather and trap static energy to
create an cero empowered by electrical energy. This technique is
done when a user uses a change in energy form to essentially
form their energy like static when they form their cero, and by
forming into a certain kind of static, it draws the static in
the air around them. This technique was made to be somewhat
similar to spirit lightning, except that this is fired like a
normal cero. When the technique gathers enough electrical
energy, the user then fires the cero, where the cero becomes
blue lightning surrounded by the normal color of their cero
(such as a normally red cero would be red on the outside but
with blue-ish lightning inside the cero). When this hits
opponents, it is designed to be like a lightning strike hitting
an opponent in the form of a cero. When hitting an opponent, the
cero not only does cero spirit damage, but the cero also does
heavy electrical damage to opponents, to the point that the
electrical energy can even incinerate a lot of weaker opponents.
Some users can even focus the electrical energy in a way that,
when it hits an opponent, it can interrupt nerves and cause
temporary nervous system shutdown (essentially disrupting their
nerves and making movement difficult). This technique is a very
powerful art and can be fired just like a normal cero. The only
real thing different is how the cero is formed when it is first
created, where the change in energy form is necessary for this
to be created. Advanced users may even be able to create cero
bala or cero desparo techniques using this cero art, if they
want to fire smaller and more compact cero blasts. When used,
this cero acts much like any other, and doesn't have a lot more
speed compared to other ceros (though it is stronger due to the
electrical element that is added to it). Aside from the
electrical element added to it, this isn't all that different
from a normal cero. However, this is very hard to master, and
until one has gotten to a high enough level, users often have to
concentrate when using this skill.
- Advanced Cero Art: Cero Neo Metralleta (Rare High Level Art):
This particular skill is a modified version of Coyote Starrk's
own unique ability, which was adapted into its own high level
cero art. While nothing quite matched his unique methods of
using this skill, other hollows and arrancars did create a high
level cero art using this skill. When using this skill, a user
appears to fire one cero, but instead of releasing one cero, the
user releases a flurry of ceros that are designed to either
attack an enemy or possibly attack a group of enemies. When
fired, this technique fires the flurry of ceros all at once,
releasing multiple ceros. This skill is very useful against fast
opponents, as faster opponents have trouble dodging this art due
to the large flurry of ceros that are fired. This is fired like
a normal cero, and fired in the same manner. This cero is meant
to catch opponents off guard and making dodging far more
difficult due to the number of ceros fired. Typically, the
flurry of ceros is fired all at once, with some advanced users
being able to continuously fire ceros if they keep the technique
going. Those that reach a high even level with this skill can
even use Cero Rayo blasts instead of normal ceros, as a means to
condense and control the piercing power of the blasts. There are
some users who have also been trying to figure out how to
combine different cero types with this, but so far none have
been able to combine this with other skills due to how much
energy it takes on its own with normal ceros (but a high enough
level user could combine it with stronger ceros if they have
enough energy as long as they manage how much energy they put
into this technique. This skill doesn't fire with quite the same
large volley of ceros as the original technique, as the original
user of this art could fire large enough volleys of ceros to
cover a city block. Another major problem compared to the
original user is how much energy this takes to use this
technique. Users of this technique will find that this technique
uses a lot of energy, due to the fact that it is the equivalent
of firing about 20 ceros at once, which can be very taxing on
the spirit. Users can get around this by firing weaker ceros,
such as some may fire cero balas using this technique, but
overall, this is a very draining technique that shouldn't be
overused.

/>)
- Cero Art: Cero Desgarron (Rare High Level Art): This art was
based on another arrancar's skill, this time a cero based on the
unique technique of Grimmjow. In this particular skill, a user
uses a cero as a slashing wave, similar to cero raja. However,
the major difference is that instead of using a single slashing
waves, the user focuses cero energy into their fingertips
(Usually working best if one has claws they can focus the cero
energy to) and then creates a claw slash wave using cero energy
from the fingertips when doing a mach claw slash to release the
cero energy. Once the energy has been gathered at the
fingertips, the user then fires the claw slash wave at the
opponent by releasing the wave from their fingertips, with the
claw slash wave not only doing slashing damage, but exploding in
a blast of destructive cero energy when it hits an opponent.
Advanced users can even create two claw slash waves at once
(using each hand) once they are able to properly focus ceros to
their hands. When fired, this technique is always fired from the
fingertips, as it is the main method used for this combat style
as it is intended to mimic a claw slash wave. Thanks to it being
designed as a slashing wave, this technique is great for combat
and works much like a normal claw slash wave of creatures like
werewolves except that this uses cero energy. And due to the
explosion power of this technique, this is a very high level
technique that can be used to take on higher level opponents and
some can even use this to slash through metal. As with other
higher level copied arts from arrancars though, this technique
was never quite as good as the original user of this technique,
and many users only ever learned how to fire one claw slash wave
at a time. Many also lack the same destructive power the
original technique had, although some have gotten around that by
using Cero Raja in combination with this to increase it's
slashing power. For the most part, this can be blocked, but most
opponents will probably want to dodge it due to how strong the
attack is (This attack was made specifically for raw power over
anything else). Typically, the more power put into this, the
stronger it is, but also the more draining it is. This is a
technique that can require a lot of energy (since it's
essentially four ceros fired at once).

- Cero Art: Cero Lanza (Rare High Level Art): This technique was
based on another arrancar's technique, with this one being based
on Ulquiorra Cifer's unique ability, Lanza Del Relampago. While
no one ever truly matched Ulquiorra's pure destructive
potential, there were others that did manage to create a similar
attack using cero energy, where they used change in energy form
to create a similar technique out of cero energy. When using
this technique, a user focuses large amounts of cero energy into
their hands. Once the user has created enough cero energy and
put it into the right state, the user then focuses it into a
lance style energy weapon. From this point the user can do one
of two things. The first is that a user can throw it at an
opponent, and when the lance hits something (whether it's the
opponent or an object), the lance explodes in a massive blast of
destructive cero energy. Those that are caught in the explosion
are usually crushed by the energy of the explosion, or can be
incinerated by the destructive energy depending on how strong a
lance they can create. The second method of using this is to use
it like a melee weapon, where a user can use it in physical
combat. By using it like a lance in combat, a user can do things
like blocking other energy attacks, or sometimes even piercing
energy defenses with this. The user can also release this
technique up close to explode on an opponent, though this
doesn't come without the user risking themselves getting caught
in the explosion. Typically, the more power that is put into
this lance, the stronger it is, but the more energy it requires
to use. Another thing to note is that while this is a high level
technique that is very strong, other uses of this technique have
never been able to match the destructive power of Ulquiorra's
original technique (as is the case with many of the copied arts
from other arrancars). Users can dodge this (and it is
recommended) if they get far enough away from the explosion
(which can vary depending on how much power is put into the
lance). And if a user has stronger energy than the lance's
energy, they may be able to break it with their own energy (or
in some stronger opponent's cases, like Olympus Ichigo, some may
even break it with their raw physical strength alone).

- Cero Art: Cero Mirada (Rare High Level Art): This art was
based on a higher level soul reaper hollow cero technique (one
of Aizen's group). This was based on Kaname Tousen's own unique
cero ability, La Mirada. This technique creates two ceros, one
using the eyes to focus the energy (similar to cero cornea
except that this gathers the cero energy outside of the eye
instead of inside the eye) with each eye focusing one cero.
Before the ceros are fired, the user will combine both ceros
together using a technique similar to cero sincretico (and it is
required a user have this before being able to learn this art)
to combine the two ceros. Once the two ceros are combined, the
cero is fired in an amplified wave that creates a much larger
area cero, and a much more powerful cero. Not only is this cero
extremely fast, but this technique is also extremely powerful,
in which those that get caught in it can be incinerated if they
don't have a way to defend themselves (though things like energy
barriers and other defenses may be able to dull the damage even
if the opponent can't overpower the energy of the cero). By
using this art, a user is able to blast a much wider area and
make a cero that is much harder to dodge. This technique
condenses a massive amount of power into the ceros before
combining them, and condenses the energy of multiple ceros into
the ceros. While this may use a large amount of power, this
technique is extremely powerful, and can be used to wipe out a
large area. This not only makes it great to use against
opponents, but can also be effectively used against groups as
well. However, the major downside to this is that it takes a lot
of energy to use this cero, as no one can use this as
effectively as the original user was able to. Another major
downside is that less advanced users cannot use this without
charging it, which takes a moment before it can be released.
This makes it more predictable, in which opponents may have time
to dodge. Opponents can also tell where the blast will be fired
by where the user is looking, as this is fired from the eyes
similar to cero cornea.

Transformation:
- Hollowfied State (Vizoreds Only): Vizoreds that use hollow
power use a hollowfied state where they are able to manifest
their hollow powers. If one is a conquered vizored, they
manually manifest their hollow mask, in which they can then use
their hollow abilities while their hollow mask is manifested
(which represents their hollowfication and activates their
hollow abilities). Conquered vizoreds don't have to worry about
losing control of themselves, but they do only have a limited
time when hollowfied (meaning they must be careful how they use
their time). Combined vizoreds don't manifest a mask
consciously, but instead the hollow spirit takes control and the
mask forms automatically without the hollow having to do
anything. For combined vizoreds, they are not limited by time
like conquered vizoreds, but they do risk the hollow taking
permanent control if the vizored is not careful. When in this
state, no matter the vizored, vizoreds use this state to use
their hollowfication. Depending on the vizored and how they get
their power, some may have more advanced hollow states, such as
Olympus universe Sosuke Aizen and his second in command had
hollow forms that covered their whole body. Usually unique forms
are more common among combined vizoreds, since the hollow spirit
takes control (where some hollowfications of combined vizoreds
may include extra features created through hollow spirit
energy). For conquered vizoreds, their form is a lot less
complicated where the only real change most people see is that
the form adds a hollow mask and changes the eyes and voice to
hollow eyes and voice. However, no matter the form, this state
typically is amplified from the vizored's base form, and is used
as one might expect. However, when in this state, vizoreds can
be more vulnerable to spirit purification and spirit destruction
powers, as well as being vulnerable to spyrix (a spirit
destruction material). And depending on the type of vizored,
they will also have their type of vizored's own weaknesses as
well (conquered vizoreds having a time limit and combined
vizoreds risking hollow control).
- Partial Hollow Form (Partial Hollows Only): Similar to
vizoreds, mortals with hollow power can take partial hollow
form, usually dependent on their abilities. Depending on the
partial hollow, some can take unique hollow forms, or some can
take forms similar to vizoreds. Conquered partial hollows
typically take a partial hollow form with features from their
hollow, sometimes with or without a hollow mask depending on the
partial hollow and their power. For combined partial hollows,
when the hollow is in control, the user can tap into a partial
hollow form as well, which may or may not reflect similarly to
conquered partial hollows. Unlike vizoreds, there isn't too much
difference between forms whether one is a conquered or combined
partial hollow. Some are able to take forms where they take
hollow form, but most take simple forms that change based on
their hollow powers. Some may only change a little, such as one
who's change into partial hollow turned his hair white and his
eyes black with green pupils, or one could change a lot and take
on a whole new form. This is typically a lot more unique to each
individual partial hollow, as the individual hollow and their
unique abilities will often reflect in how they change forms.
For example, a partial hollow with tiger abilities might gain
tiger claws and enhanced muscles (replicating the bulk of a
tiger). However, there are some that just change slightly.
Whether the change is slight or not though, partial hollows
hollow forms are typically more powerful than normal states, and
they will gain enhanced unique abilities when in this form (such
as one might be able to use a higher level technique when in
partial hollow form compared to their normal form's abilities).
This form is usually not constricted by time, but the longer the
user stays in this form, the more their soul may get corrupted
depending on the person and the hollow power they possess. Those
in partial hollow form, similar to other hollows, will also be
vulnerable to other hollow weaknesses like spirit purification,
spirit destruction, and anything else that counters corrupted
spirit power.
- Fullbringer Form (Fullbringers Only): Fullbringers can often
create their own released forms, where they typically release
what little hollow power they have. Typically, this form comes
about when a fullbringer fuses to their unique item, most common
in clad type Fullbrings that cover the body. Depending on the
Fullbring, some Fullbringers may fuse with items, or they may
have certain release forms for their power depending on the
power they possess. For Fullbring items they may fuse with, this
can often grant them unique forms based on the items they fuse
with and the abilities of the items. While Fullbringers don't
have the ability to use full hollow forms, they can replicate
hollow forms if they use spirit user style training to focus
their spirits. Since many Fullbringers have to train their minds
and techniques, many of them have some form of unique
transformation. Most will often gain an enhanced form with
enhanced Bringer Light and other Fullbring abilities, and may
even gain some hollow abilities if their form is more hollow
than normal Fullbringers (such as one who could actually fire
ceros after activating their Fullbring power. Like partial
hollows, this form is unique depending on the Fullbringer, and
most gain unique abilities when in this form that are often
related to their unique Fullbring items. This is difficult to
predict since each Fullbring form is different, and some may
utilize different methods to achieve a transformed state, but
the end result usually is the same, where their Fullbring powers
and their Fullbring spirits get enhanced, as well as them
gaining enhanced physical stats as well. When in this form,
Fullbringers are not vulnerable to spirit purification like
normal hollows, and are countered more by others with strong
spirit power (in which stronger spirit power than theirs can be
used to counter them, which means that beating them just
requires a user to have energy stronger than that of the
Fullbringer). However, while there is no time limit on a
Fullbringer's form, their transformations usually aren't as
powerful as other races, due to their Fullbring power usually
requiring more focus and technique than raw power.
- Rare Transformation: Vasto Lorde Form (Rare Evolved Form):
This is a very rare state that some vizoreds, partial hollows or
even a few Fullbringers might achieve. In very rare cases, a
vizored, partial hollow or Fullbringer may go into a Vasto Lorde
state. It isn't fully certain what causes this form to happen,
though the form can be triggered a few different ways. Conquered
vizoreds or partial hollows may achieve this form in states of
distress or raw emotion, where certain external stimuli can
cause them to instinctively access the deepest parts of their
hollow power. In combined vizoreds and partial hollows, this
form is most often attained when the hollow and user try to join
their powers together, in which they may try to combine their
power to transform into a more powerful hollowfied state.
Depending on the form, a user takes a unique Vasto Lorde form,
usually a humanoid form that will have unique abilities (and
sometimes unique cero abilities), as well as having highly
enhanced spirit pressure that goes far beyond their normal
hollowfied power. This state is often unique to each creature
with hollow power, as there are no two hollows that are the
same. Typically, this form is far more powerful and the person
in this state will have highly enhanced hollow power that they
can use. Those that know the ranking of hollows know that Vasto
Lorde is the highest state of hollow before getting to things
like the arrancars. However, almost no one ever truly masters
this transformation, whether it's a combined or conquered
vizored or partial hollow, or a rare Fullbringer. Typically,
this is the result of someone with hollow power raging out of
control, and the hollow power tapped into some stronger hollow
state due to some external stimuli. There have been very rare
cases of a vasto lorde form being controlled, but usually only
in very rare cases, and they have usually required help to
control (such as Olympus Ichigo who is now in a permanent Vasto
Lorde state after being helped by Tartarus Kindron Darkfire). In
order to counter this form, not only is it recommended to have
spirit purification or spirit destruction, but one must also be
able to counter their raw spirit power. If a user wants to stop
this transformation, or counter it, the best way is by
destroying the hollow mask, which may reverse the
transformation.
General Hollow Power Weaknesses (Applies to all with hollow
power, though certain facts might be different based on race):
- Whether it is a normal hollow, a partial hollow or a vizored,
all those with hollow power are more vulnerable to powers that
counter corruption (or some weapons that counter hollow
corruption directly). The most common example is that of death
wraith soul swords and soul reaper zanpakutos in which one of
both races' weapons are primarily used for purifying hollows
when they fight hollows. Spirit purification is often very
effective on hollows and those with hollow power, including
vizoreds and partial hollows (Though it's not effective on
Fullbringers since they don't have enough hollow power for it to
affect them). Typically, spirit destruction also works on
hollows, due to them being twisted spirits, so things like
spyrix (spirit destruction mineral) can also work on hollows.
Almost any hollow is going to be vulnerable to spirit
purfiication or spirit destruction, with only a few exceptions
having ever been recorded (Players must state specifically if
the hollow power is resistant or immune). All hollows are also
far more vulnerable to spiritual power, in which those with
strong spirit power can counter their abilities more easily.
Most hollows spirit energy can also be countered by other forms
of energy, which usually means that any energy supernaturals use
may be used to counter a hollow's spirit power as long as it is
strong enough to counter the hollow's spirit energy (usually
meaning that the energy has to be stronger than the hollow's).
Another thing is that since hollows are spiritual creatures,
they can be countered by things that counter spirits, with the
biggest counter to spirits being the use of iron (which works on
most spirits, as well as hollows). This means that any
supernatural, or even some humans, may be able to counter hollow
powers. For the most part, whether one is hollow, an arrancar, a
vizored, or a partial hollow, these weaknesses all apply
regardless of what sub-race they may be. This is a weakness of
all hollows, and one that most will always be vulnerable to.
While hollows are powerful, their nature doesn't really change
much over time, so these kinds of abilities are always useful.
For Fullbringers, they are not vulnerable to spirit purification
or iron (due to how little hollow power they have, but they are
still vulnerable to spirit destruction abilities as much as
anyone else with a soul is.
- The most dangerous thing about hollow powers in other
creatures is not the mask being attacked, or time limits of
using the powers of a hollow (problems vizoreds most often
face). The most dangerous thing about hollow powers is the risk
of losing control. Even after one has figured out how to control
their hollow powers (usually through either one of the two
training methods), there is still a major risk of the hollow
resurfacing or completely taking over. Typically, this can lead
to permanent hollowfication, and the hollowfication can actually
be a major problem for anyone close to the original host that
may try to save them. There are some vizoreds and partial
hollows that may turn pure hollow at some point in their lives,
and that risk is always present no matter how controlled the
power might seem. Even the most controlled people, such as
Olympus universe Tartarus Kindron, have lost control of their
hollofwfication at some point in their lives. For the most part,
the worst thing that happens is that one loses control and
permanently becomes a hollow, in which some people with hollow
power have actually done just that. And in rare cases, some who
have lost control have gone into vasto lorde forms that make
them extremely powerful that pose a big threat to the living
world. Losing control of one's hollow most often happens when
one is near death, or if they are consumed by negative emotions
during a dangerous situation. This is even worse among some more
powerful combined vizoreds or partial hollows, as they may not
even be able to keep their inner hollow in line all the time.
Almost all vizoreds and partial hollows have to have some kind
of plan if they lose control, due to the fact that it is often
seen as inevitable to happen at some point. This problem is most
prevalent in partial hollows, due to them being so close to
being a full hollow already. As for Fullbringers, Fullbringers
don't have this problem, since they have so little hollow power
in them (their problem is that they don't usually have enough
power).
- It doesn't matter whether one is a vizored or a partial
hollow, as it is worth noting that all hollow abilities
typically are countered the same as normal hollows. Spirit
purification and spirit destruction have already been mentioned
as ways to counter hollow power, but there are ways to counter
the hollow's individual abilities as well. The first power is
ceros, which are very commonly used among hollows and many with
hollow power. Ceros are basically blasts of raw spirit energy,
designed to cause as much destruction as possible. Due to this,
they are mostly countered the same as other beams of energy used
by races like spirit users and ki users. If one wants to block a
cero, one simply has to have strong enough energy that is as
strong or stronger than the cero being fired at them. If one
wants to counter their regeneration, hollows and those with
hollow power cannot regenerate their internal organs or their
brains (they can regenerate things like the eyes, and some
vitals, but not vitals like the lungs, heart, and some other
vitals in the chest area). And like any supernatural
regeneration, regeneration negation also works on them (such as
using powers or materials like varanium or carbonadium). For the
Hierro skill, usually stronger attacks that can overcome the
Hierro are necessary. For the most part, not too many special
skills are needed, and many supernaturals can find ways to
counter a hollow's skills if they are creative enough with how
they use their skills. And while some opponents may not be able
to block certain kinds of attacks, opponents can still dodge if
they are fast enough to react and fast enough to dodge. Most of
the hollow's powers are corrupted spirit energy based (as
hollows are mostly just corrupted spirits), so opponents should
take that into account, and use any power or ability they have
that might counter their corrupted spirit energy (Some stronger
supernaturals may even just be able to overcome them with raw
physical stats if they are skilled enough). Fullbringers have
their own skillset, but a lot of their skills are based on
hollow skills, so many of the counters do still work if one
knows the hollow equivalent of whatever power they use (IE
spirit blasts are countered like ceros).
- Whether one is a partial hollow, a vizored, or even a
Fullbringer, all those with hollow power that aren't hollows are
still vulnerable to any other race weaknesses that might apply
to them. In the case of vizoreds, these are always either soul
reapers or death wraiths, and as such, they will have the
weaknesses of whatever race they are. Soul reapers are
vulnerable to other spirit powers, where they can be killed with
things like spirit destruction, or soul reapers can be killed by
creatures like hollows that have skills that can specifically
kill soul reapers. For death wraiths, they are still vulnerable
to things like blessed sea salt and iron (which also works extra
well on death wraith vizoreds). For partial hollows and
Fullbringers, they have the same weaknesses as whatever mortal
race they are (IE humans still have human weaknesses). While
hollow powers do overcome some weaknesses (such as humans can
use hollow power to regenerate limbs if they can't regenerate
normally), the mortal races with hollow power are still
countered the same way if one just accounts for the stronger
spirit power they give off when using hollow power. For the most
part, the biggest difference between a partial hollow or
Fullbringer and a normal mortal (besides the enhanced physical
and supernatural abilities) is the fact that they usually just
have modified souls that may be countered like other hollows.
The only thing to note is that Fullbringers don't have the same
weaknesses as hollows due to them not having enough hollow power
to suffer those weaknesses, though Fullbringers do still have
weaknesses such as their Fullbringer light spirit energy can
still be countered by things like darkness abilities. Every race
still has their weaknesses, and can usually be killed the same
way as they normally would (with exception to races that might
lose certain weaknesses with hollow power like regeneration).
Vizored Specific Weaknesses:
- For vizoreds specifically, major weaknesses usually correspond
to whatever kind of vizored they are. For conquered vizoreds,
they may not risk losing control easily, but they do have a
major weakness in the fact that they can only use their hollow
power for a limited time. Since conquered vizoreds lose access
to some of their power to keep their hollow self from
resurfacing in their mind and that they have to use some of
their stamina to consciously summon their hollow power, they are
only able to use their power somewhat limitedly. Due to this,
once the vizored has hit their expired time limit (which is
different for each person), the vizored's hollow power then
deactivates and the user cannot reactivate it until they have
had time to recover their stamina. A conquered vizored can build
up their time in transformations by training their stamina and
spirit, and eventually can stay in hollow form longer depending
on their training. There are rare cases of some vizoreds, such
as one vizored, Mashiro, who could stay hollow for long periods
of time without prior training. However, this is rare and almost
never the case with conquered vizoreds. For the most part,
conquered vizoreds don't have to worry much about their hollow
selves resurfacing, but this can happen if a vizored gets close
to death or has a moment of raw emotion that can act as a
trigger for their hollow self taking control again (sometimes
this can lead to a user temporarily taking vasto lorde form
though they can't control it). Typically, conquered vizoreds
have much more dependable power, but are much more limited than
combined vizoreds in how they can use it. Some conquered
vizoreds also may not gain certain hollow abilities depending on
how strong their hollow power is. For example, there are some
conquered vizoreds who cannot fire ceros, or some that might not
regenerate damage like normal hollows.
- For vizoreds specifically, major weaknesses usually correspond
to whatever kind of vizored they are. For combined vizoreds,
their biggest weakness is that the hollow and the host have to
be in sync to utilize their abilities. While the hollow can
usually freely use their hollow power without a real time limit
(unlike conquered vizoreds), combined hollows have to sync in
power with their host. When a combined vizored uses their power,
a combined vizored has to allow their hollow to take control,
and this only really works when the two are synced together.
Typically, most combined vizoreds have to keep their hollow from
trying to take over. Some vizoreds usually do this by keeping an
agreement with their hollow personality, where the two will
often try to agree on when one personality is preferable over
the other. However, there are some that will also try to keep
their hollows in line by using certain items or powers that can
suppress their hollow in certain situations. Typically, a
combined vizored and their inner hollow have to work together,
and if they fight for control, it can cause problems especially
if they lose control. Typically, a hollow and their host have to
sync their power together, and use that sync to determine when
to switch control between each other. And in this method, if a
hollow remains in control too long, there is a risk of the
hollow eventually taking over permanently, as some hollows can
take over the soul of the host and turn the person into a hollow
permanently if the process isn't controlled. Whether intentional
or not, this is something that all hollow personalities have to
deal with, and every combined vizored must make sure they remain
synced with their hollow.
- Vizoreds specifically have to manifest their masks somehow in
order to use their hollow power. And due to how their hollow
powers work, this mask is both an activation of the hollow
powers, and a big weakness of vizoreds. Since they require their
hollow mask in order to use their hollow power whether a
combined or a conquered vizored, attacking the mask can affect
the vizored. For a conquered vizored, breaking their mask can
dispel their hollow power temporarily, at least until the user
fixes their mask. However, fixing or remanifesting their mask
takes energy and stamina, so this is not a process that is easy.
It takes training in order for a conquered vizored to learn to
fix their mask using the mask manifestation. For combined
vizoreds, they are more the hollow personality taking control
manifests a mask, slowly and in parts (usually only a part of it
manifests to start with and more of the mask manifests as time
goes on). When a combined vizored's mask is destroyed, it is not
as easy to restore the mask, as destroying the mask reverts the
original personality back into control (assuming it's not a
hollow personality that took over the soul). When destroyed, the
host has to switch back over to the hollow personality if they
want to use them again, which also takes stamina in order to do.
The mask is both the greatest strength of the vizoreds, and the
greatest weakness. Almost all vizoreds have this weakness, as
almost all of them use hollow masks in some form to manifest
their hollow power. Even those rare beings that gain hollow
power through other methods are still vulnerable to losing their
hollow power if their mask is destroyed, even if it might be
temporary. And as stated, each time the mask is destroyed, it
takes power and stamina to fix or resummon, which can drain the
vizored if they do it enough times. If the vizored does run out
of power though, they won't be able to fix the hollow mask or
reform the mask, since they do need spirit energy to restore or
remanifest the mask.
Partial Hollow Weaknesses:
- Unlike vizoreds who have to manifest their mask, a partial
hollow doesn't have to do so, as they typically just use their
powers in their base state. Because partial hollows are so close
to hollow state in their normal state, this makes them much
closer to hollows whether they are conquered or combined partial
hollows. As such, this puts partial hollows in a dangerous state
due to them being so close to being full hollows. Because they
are so close to being hollows, they are much more at risk of
losing control of their hollow powers or turning into hollows at
some point in their life. The most common thing that happens is
that if the partial hollow dies (at least, in their mortal
body), then they will often immediately become a full hollow on
death, due to the fact that they are so close to being a hollow
already. Many partial hollows must maintain a way to keep
themselves from losing themselves to the corruption of hollow
power, due to the fact that it is such a risk. This is the
biggest problem with partial hollows, and one that no partial
hollow can completely overcome without purifying the hollow
power out of them. This is the biggest reason why many people
try to avoid the path of partial hollow. Typically, conquered
partial hollows are far more at risk, since combined partial
hollows usually do better at keeping the host and inner hollow
spirit separated in their souls. However, this is still a major
issue. For the most part, once the user has become a full
hollow, there is no going back, and the person usually then has
to be hunted down by a soul reaper or death wraith (usually soul
reapers since they specialize in hunting hollows). It is worth
noting that some partial hollows aren't as at risk of losing
control, but these are very rare cases that usually have other
circumstances involved (such as Sosuke Aizen who used the
Hogyoku to gain hollow power that he had no risk of losing
control to). Overall, as long as the person is prevented from
going full hollow, they can usually return to normal if defeated
in combat.
- Since partial hollows don't have Fullbring items or soul-bound
weapons/zanpakutos like vizoreds do, partial hollows develop
unique abilities similar to how hollows do. In this regard,
every partial hollow has different unique abilities. Some may
have elemental abilities, some may have physical abilities, or
some may have transformation abilities. This really depends on
the individual, and how their abilities manifest. Just as there
are no two hollows exactly alike, the same can be said about the
unique abilities a hollow gains. As such, categorizing them is
very difficult. For elemental type abilities (one of the more
common types of unique abilities), many partial hollows unique
abilities can be countered by counter elements (like fire
abilities could be countered by ice). For amplification/buff
abilities, usually these are countered by other
amplification/buff abilities, or a user can try to outlast most
buff abilities if there is a time limit. Because there are so
many unique abilities out there, it is hard to list each type.
Some partial hollows that can transform can usually also be
countered by other transformations, where opponents can usually
match them with certain transformation skills of their own.
There are also some people on the same level as transformed
beings in their normal state, so depending on the skill of the
opponent, some could overcome the transformation skills of a
partial hollow. For the most part, all individual skills of
partial hollows have counters, and most run on spirit energy.
And while these skills may or may not be powerful, the do still
run on spirit energy, and once one runs out of spirit energy,
they cannot use these abilities against until they recover their
energy.
Fullbringer Weaknesses:
- For Fullbringers specifically, Fullbringers rarely ever have
the same raw power that normal hollows have. For Fullbringers,
they lack raw power due to the fact that they do not have enough
hollow power to utilize the same enhancements that hollows do.
Instead, the Fullbringers are more about focus and training than
being about the normal instinctive power of hollows.
Fullbringers have to train their skills up in order to fight
opponents, which can be a problem against stronger opponents.
While Fullbringers don't have to worry about losing control of
their hollow like others (Unless they somehow gain enough hollow
power to become a partial hollow which would replace their
Fullbring powers), they still have this one major downside in
using their power. As such, Fullbringers have to be more
creative about how they use their power, and train harder in
order to take on some opponents. And some more powerful
opponents they may not be able to overpower no matter how strong
they are. Typically, this is why Fullbringers tend to try and
focus their spirit energy more careful, so that they can use
more focused attacks that might be able to overcome certain
enemies stronger than them. For example, a Fullbringer's spirit
blasts usually are not enough to defeat ceros, and a Fullbringer
usually has to find a way to use more focused attacks to either
block or defend themselves against ceros, especially against the
more powerful ceros like gran rey or cero oscuras. And when it
comes to things like regeneration, Fullbringers usually can't
match hollows in some other abilities either. While Fullbringers
abilities are still very useful and work well against opponents,
they don't always compare to the extent of hollow abilities.
Fullbringers usually have to overcome this problem in their own
way, with some even focusing down the path of spirit users to
try and build up their spirit more through spirit user training.
- Fullbring is an ability that requires the manipulation of
object souls. While there aren't many immunities to this kind of
power (as most people don't even know objects have souls), there
are some limitations to the ability. The major one is that while
Fullbringers can manipulate souls of objects, they cannot
manipulate mortal souls or other spirits unless they have a
specific ability that lets them do so (which would likely make
them more hollow if they started trying to manipulate mortal
souls). When one talks about the "souls of objects", they are
not souls in the traditional sense, and while one might assume
that they are the same as souls of mortals or as spirits, it is
nowhere near the same. This means that Fullbringers cannot
manipulate or absorb souls of people or other mortal beings, due
to them not being able to manipulate living souls. However, this
also applies to spirits, such as spirits of the world, or more
specifically, weapon spirits. While weapons may be "objects",
some weapons that do have weapon spirits in them are immune to
Fullbring manipulation. If there is a spirit already inhabiting
a weapon, then Fullbring does not work to manipulate the weapon.
When it comes to Fullbring power, there is also a certain
distance one must not exceed to be able to manipulate object
souls (with exception of their unique Fullbring items), as
trying to use Fullbring on an object too far away may not work
if the user cannot extend their senses to that point. This means
that Fullbring typically has a max distance it can be used, and
anything outside of that distance cannot be manipulated. Another
thing that counters manipulation of objects is other telekinetic
or elemental powers, which can be used to counter this power.
While users can do things like manipulate the soul of air or the
earth beneath them, elemental manipulation can be used to
counter this, or other telekinesis might counter this as well.
Of course, this can also be countered by those with strong
enough energy since energy can be used in some fashion to
counter many supernatural abilities depending on how creative
the user gets with how they use their energy.
