Darkfire-Duperon Family Christmas Dinner

((RP for direct Darkfire family members only.))
Laura rushed about the kitchen of her bar as she works on the
finishing touches to the dinner tonight. Decorating the bar with
Christmas decorations, a Christmas tree decorated on the stage
with a big load of presents for the kids and adults, and setting
up beds for Josephine's boys was easier than making sure to have
enough food to feed three lions and the Darkfire boys. As she
checks the bourbon turduckens, she hears the bar's front door
open which makes her close the oven door. Laura walks out of the
kitchen to see her daughter and her three lions walk into the
bar. Laura gives Josephine a big smile and rushes to hug her.
Laura hadn't seen her daughter in almost 6 months due to
Josephine's performance schedule. Laura: 'Ello, ma fille. It's
been what 6 months.
Josephine returns Laura's hug a big smile as her three lions
wait for their turn patiently. Josephine: Hello, ma mère. I know
that it's been a while, and I'm sorry that missed your birthday.
Laura and Josephine separate from their hug and step back which
allows for Leonidas, Ander, and Romeo to rub and lion purr in
greeting to Laura. Laura giggles in response as she replies to
Josephine. Laura: It's a'right, Josie. She then pets each of the
lions. Laura: 'Ello, boys. I'm happy to see you too. I 'ave some
beds set up for you three over there out o' the way. Laura says
as she points out the beds in a corner near the window. The
three lions go and happily lay down on the beds.
Josephine: I smell a lot of food cooking, Mom. Need help in the
kitchen? She asks as she sniffs the air and smells far more food
than she would've thought for the size of gathering they were
expecting.
Laura: Oh oui! There is still much to finish and could
definitely use your help. Laura says with a big smile as she
walks back to the kitchen.
Josephine follows Laura into the kitchen which is a restaurant
size and set up kitchen. Her eyes go wide when she sees all
stations up and going. She couldn't believe how much food was
being cooked. Turkeys, turduckens, fried gator, corn bread, and
much more. Josephine: My god, Mom! There's enough food for at
least 20 people! I didn't think this Qrow had that big of a
family.
Laura laughs as she goes to bast the turkeys. Laura: Qrow had
the smarts to warn me about da appetite of his sons and
grandson. She then opens the oven, pulls the turkeys out
slightly, and begins to bast them. Laura: Could you check on da
taters and drain then mash them if they be ready? Qrow and
others should be here soon and everything is almost ready.
Josephine: Okay, Mom. Josephine says as she goes about making
the mash potatoes as she wonders how much food Hei, Kindron, and
Kendrix could actually eat.

Qrow was the first to arrive, alongside Alastair Crawford, who
had come with Qrow so he could help Laura. Alastair goes to
Laura first and bows politely. Alastair: Might I be of
assistance? He says to Laura. Qrow comes in as well.
Qrow: Our butler recently arrived in London. I figured he could
help you with the food. He says to Laura.
Hei, Kindron, Kendrix, and Future Kendra all arrive together
alongside Alice and Acillia.
Kendra, Jasmine and Rose were all with Alice and Hei, while baby
Zack was with Acillia. Zack hadn't grown too much, but had grown
a little, while Kendra, Jasmine and Rose were all growing fast
over the last few years.
As Jasmine Kendra and Rose see Qrow, they immediately run over
and hug him. Kendra, Jasmine and Rose: Grandpa! They yell
happily as they hug Qrow.
Qrow: Wow... You kids are getting big. He says as he hugs the
kids back.
Zack: Hi! He says, waving cheerfully to Qrow.
Qrow then looks over to Zack. Qrow: You're starting to grow too,
kid. He says to Zack.
Acillia: Anything we can do to help? I feel kind of bad leaving
other people to do all the work. She says to Qrow.
Qrow: I brought Alastair, so he should be able to handle things.

Laura pushes the turkeys back into the oven, closes the oven
door, and turns while standing up again as she hears Qrow walk
into the bar with Alastair and then into the kitchen. She gets
turned around in time to Alastair bow, introduce himself, and
ask if she needs help. Laura: I definitely could use anotha hand
in the kitchen, Alastair. Could ya handle finishin' the fried
gator bites? They be already floured and seasoned in da pan next
ta the deep fryer which has da tima already set. Ya just need ta
put them in da fryer basket, drop in da oil, and hit start on da
timer. She then walks over to the dishwasher area's sink, washes
and dries her hands, and then walks over to Qrow and the others
with a big, warm smile. Laura: Bonjour, everyone! I'm so happy
y'all could come so I can finally meet Qrow's family and all of
ya can meet my daughter. I just hope made enough food which
shouldn't take much longer.
Josephine had just turned off the burner on the industrially
stovetop when Qrow and Alastair walk in. She decides to let her
mother talk to Qrow and the others while she carefully drains
the water from the large soup pot with the potatoes in it. She
finishes just in time to hear her mother's final words.
Josephine puts the pot down on the counter next to the prep cook
area sink, takes off the oven mitts, and then walks over to the
gathering group after Laura mentions her. Josephine takes a spot
next to Laura and gives everyone a friendly but nervous smile
while her lion ears sit in a nervous position and her tail
twitches a bit in nervousness as she waits for introductions.
Boy, Josephine hopes that Laura is right when she said that Qrow
nor his family will care about will care about who Josephine's
father is.. because it's made dating miserable for her.
Josephine's boys are quite use to strangers as fans of
Josephine's magic shows often pet and pose with them, but both
Leonidas and Ander don't pay attention as the others arrive as
they're enjoying a bit of peace and the comfort of their beds.
Romeo, on the other hand, is like an overgrown friendly house
cat and gets up with a stretch once everyone seems to settle a
bit and greet each other. He then softly pads over to Future
Kendra where he sniffs her a bit before rubbing against her with
a lion purr for attention. Romeo's Peace Aura would be very
noticeable to everyone and is flared so he doesn't scare anyone
especially the children.

Alastair: Of course, my lady. He says respectfully to Laura, and
then goes and does exactly what she asked him to do.
Kendrix: Sup. He says to Laura casually. He finds a spot to sit
down.
Acillia hands Zack over to Kindron. Acillia: Qrow said you were
cooking, but I did bring some deserts for everyone just because
I wanted to contribute something. She says as she teleports in
what she had made, which included apple pie, a pumpkin pie, a
chocolate cake, a carrot cake, and a few other miscellaneous
sugary deserts. Most of them were pretty fresh, and once
teleporting them in, Acillia finds a spot to set them down.
Alice: Yeah... Hei and I would have brought something, but
neither of us can cook to save our lives. The best Hei can make
is ramen, and the best I can do is burnt water. Not much call
for assassins to cook. She says with a shrug.
When Romeo comes over to Kendra, Kendra couldn't help but kneel
down and hug Romeo. As she hugs him, she scratches his ear
softly. Kendra: Well hello there, big guy! She says cheerfully
as she hugs Romeo.
Kindron: So... The lions aren't gonna like, try and eat anyone
or claw people, are they? Like, I know you wouldn't let them in
here if they might be a problem, but since this is my first time
meeting them, I just want to be sure... He says to Laura as he
notices Josephine's lion familiars.

Laura warmly smiles to Alastair when he answers. She also thinks
about how weird it is being called "my lady" like a noble woman.
Laura realizes that this will be something to get use to as her
branch of the Duperon family don't normally live so richly.
Laura then gives Kendrix a warm smile after his greeting. Laura:
Hello, youngin'. Laura then looks to Acillia with a big smile as
she talks about bringing dessert and teleports them in. Laura:
Blessed be you! Desserts were that one t'ing that I couldn't
fully get to 'cept for a sweet tater pie. All three of ma ovens
are busy cooking 2 bourbon turduckens, 2 turkeys, and a honey
ham. Thank you for bringing them. Laura looks to Alice with a
warm but sympathetic smile. Laura: Don't you be worryin' about
your cookin' skills. One of ma sisters ain't much better 'cause
she could burn air tryin' to preheat a pan. Now if either of ya
want cookin' lessons, then I'd be happy to teach ya as I did for
my Josie.
Josephine: Yeah.. I'm still a better magician than a cook.
Josephine says in reply to her mother mentioning teaching her to
cook. Josephine then looks to Kindron as he asks about her lion
familiars and gives him a reassuring smile. Josephine: They're
more harmless than house cats as long as you're not threatening
my mom, myself, or anyone they consider to be pride members.
They're also smarter than the average person and not ones for
violence. She then points to Leonidas and Ander. Josephine:
Those two will even move to higher spots if they feel annoyed
especially Leonidas, the one with the scars. She then lowers her
hand and side nods her head towards Future Kendra and Romeo, who
now appears to be in Heaven. Josephine: While my lover boy,
Romeo, will take as much attention as he can get in which
Instagram is full of pictures of fans posing with Romeo to prove
that. Josephine then looks to Kindron with a warm smile and a
hint of a chuckle. Josephine: The worse you have to worry about
is the little ones getting tongue bathed after dinner.. um.. I'm
sorry. I still don't know your name. Josephine says with a
sheepish smile and laugh.
Leonidas raises his head a bit as Josephine talks about him and
gives a big yawn before putting his head back down. Ander raises
his head in interest though when he realizes that Josephine is
talking about him and then gets an interest in Kendrix even
more. Ander stands with a stretch and softly pads over to
Kendrix. Ander takes a seat next to Kendrix and sniffs Kendrix a
bit which causes Ander to make his "stinky" face at Kendrix's
curious scent.
Romeo is in Heaven with the attention that he's getting from
Future Kendra and nuzzles his against her as she hugs him. The
attention also causes his Peace Aura to flare a bit stronger as
that normally happens when Romeo is happy. His next move once
the hug is over is to roll over for belly scratches which is one
of his favorites next to ear scratches.

Alastair continues to work on the food, helping out in any way
he can.
Acillia: Wow... That's a lot of food. But I'm sure it's probably
going to be necessary with our group. She says the last part
with a shrug in response to Laura.
Alice: Honestly, I don't know if I'm meant to be a cook myself.
I don't have the patience for that kind of thing. She says in
response to Laura.
Hei: We mostly just eat at the bar. We have my bar in London,
and Alice's bar in New Orleans, so we tend to spend a lot of
time between the two. He says, adding on to Alice's statement.
Kindron: Oh, it's Kindron. And that's my girlfriend, Acillia. He
says, introducing himself and Acillia. Acillia waves with a
cheerful smile to Josephine.
Kindron turns as he notices Zack holding his hand out reaching
for Josephine's ears, wanting to feel Josephine's lion ears in
curiosity.
Kindron: And this is my son Zack. He says, holding Zack up a
little, who was still focused on Josephine's ears.
Kendrix notices Ander come over to him and the face he made.
Kendrix: Yeah... Sorry kitty. That might be my demon presence
you smell. It's a lot stronger on me than my mother and father.
He says to Ander. I tried to tone my fear energy down... I don't
know if I got my fear energy suppressed enough though. He says,
more to himself though.
Future Kendra has no problem scratching Romeo's belly, and was
now pretty focused on giving Romeo attention. Even though Romeo
was a lion, it didn't seem to bother Kendra as she didn't seem
to mind.

Josephine notices how fascinated little Zack is with her ears
and warmly smiles as she tilts her head down to him while
Kindron holds little Zack up. She's used to younger children
being fascinated with her ears and often lets them feel her ears
a bit. Josephine: Hello, Zack. You can touch but be careful. She
then she continues talking to Kindron by introducing herself and
her boys though she decides to leave herself for last.
Josephine: It's nice to meet you, Kindron and Acillia. I already
pointed Leonidas and Romeo. The one with the goggles on his head
is Ander, my fearless shadow, while I'm Josephine Duperon-Creed,
but you guys can call me Josie.
Laura giggles a bit to Acillia's response about the amount of
food though that's not including the 40 1/2 lbs of raw meat for
Josephine's boys. She had figured on large appetites but also
has a plan to deliver some leftovers to her old friend, Adam, in
the bayou. She then responds to Alice and Hei about how they
figure out meals. Laura: Well then y'all can come here as well
for some good ol' fashion Cajun home cookin' just to change
things up. I be told that I make some of the best shrimp and
kielbasa gumbo in the city. She then notices how Kindron
introduces himself, Acillia, and little Zack to Josephine and
vice versa. She then realizes that everyone hadn't had proper
introductions. Laura: Oublie moi (French for "forgetful me")!
Not e'eryone been introduced to each other. Perhaps we should
get that done before I go back to help Alastair.
Ander gives Kendrix one more sniff and then sits down next to
him as Kendrix explains his fear aura. Ander understands
everything Kendrix says and gives Kendrix a tranquil look that
says the fear aura doesn't bother him. Above Ander's head though
appears an illusionary cartoon thought bubble with words. Ander:
"Fear is not what I smelled at first. Your cologne made your
natural scent smell weird for a vampire and hard to decipher.
Had to take a better whiff with the mouth."
Romeo loudly purrs in pure bliss from the attention that he's
getting from Future Kendra and rolls fully on his back. His legs
stick up in the air but relaxed as his tongue hangs out slightly
from his grinning face. He knew what he was doing. Romeo can
always pick out an animal lover at first sight and know that
he'll get attention.

Zack feels Josephine's ears, but was careful to not pull or
squeeze on them to hard. Since he sometimes still went into his
wolf form, he knew how difficult it can be when people tug on
the ears. After a moment, his curiosity is satisfied and he lets
go of her ears.
Acillia: Right... So, Kindron already introduced us. She looks
over to Alice and Hei. That's my sister Alice, and Kindron's
brother, Hei. She says, and then looks to Jasmine, Rose and
Kendra. That's Jasmine, Rose, and Kendra. She says, introducing
them. She then looks over to Future Kendra and Kendrix. And
those two are Kendrix and Kendra, Hei and Alice's kids from
alternate future timelines that I guess don't exist anymore? She
shrugs. Don't ask. It's a messy time travel thing.
Kendra continues to rub Romeo's belly, but looks over to the
group. Kendra: Yeah, just best not to think about it. She says
jokingly about the time travel comment as she continues to rub
Romeo's belly.
Kendrix: Wait... I'm wearing cologne? The heck?! I didn't do
that. He says, smelling himself. He had actively tried to avoid
saying hell, since the kids were all present and Hei and Kindron
didn't want them to pick up swear words if they could help it.
He shrugs. Well, at least I don't smell like sulfur I guess...
But that wouldn't be much better or worse.

Josephine smiles to little Zack as she raises her head after he
lets go of her ear which twitches a bit from a tickle sensation.
She listens to Acillia make introductions as she looks to each
person with a soft smile. Josephine: I definitely won't ask
about anything involving time travel. I learned enough from the
Back to the Future movies. She says to Acillia and Future Kendra
with a soft laugh. She then gets a bit nervous as she looks to
Hei, Alice, Kendrix, and Qrow who still wasn't introduced to
her. Josephine: My name is Josephine but friends and family call
me Josie. Josephine takes a bit a steadying breath. Josephine: I
apologize for sounding a bit nervous which is kinda of funny
since I perform stage magic and illusions for hundreds around
the world. I'm actually more nervous about meeting my mom's
boyfriend and his family than making sure that I'm doing a
slight of hand correctly for complete strangers. Oddly enough.
She sheepishly laughs a bit towards the end. Then, as a little
demonstration, she does a little hand motion to show Zack that
she has nothing in her hand. She then moves her hand behind
Zack's ear, makes a little stuffed lion appear from thin air,
and hands it to him. With her knowledge of slight of hand, it
was easy for her to remove the toy that was hidden in a
compartment on her bracelet without too many keen eyes catching
on though Kindron might since he's up close.
Laura slips her arm around Qrow's arm and moves in closer to him
as she leans in and gives him a kiss on the cheek. The joy of
seeing everyone together is definitely evident in her eyes.
Laura: I am so happy that everyone was able to make it and to
see them getting along. Josie and I were both kind of nervous
about how this would go, but I'm glad to see that we might have
worried for nothing. She then looks to Future Kendra with Romeo
who is looking more like giant house cat getting the attention
he thinks he's been starved of while getting his belly rubbed.
Laura: I hope she know that Romeo will lay there for hours if
she let him.
Ander gets a curiously thoughtful look to Kendrix's answer about
the cologne smell.. as thoughtful of a look as a lion can get.
His illusionary thought bubble changes the words. Ander: Sulfur?
Well then that explains why the floral scent smells more like
rosy musk. Must have transferred from a female you were in
contact with. Have your own lioness?" Ander understands human
dating and mating rituals but likes to use analogies from time
to time. If Kendrix thinks about Ander's words, then he would
remember that Charlie hugged him and said she would meet him at
the party after she picked up his Christmas gift. She was
wearing her favorite perfume, Rose Gold by Tiffany.

In the kitchen, Alastair was still handling everything as the
group talks.
Josephine's trick nearly made Zack jump out of Kindron's arms as
he squeals happily and grabs the stuffed animal, hugging it. He
didn't really think about the trick itself but saw the gift and
that was all he needed. Little Kendra, Jasmine and Rose all
watch Josephine's trick and clap when she seems to pull the
stuffed animal out of nowhere. As young as they were, they
didn't really think about the trick either, and were just
clapping in amusement watching it.
Kindron takes a moment to make sure he wasn't about to drop Zack
when Zack nearly jumped out of his arms. Kindron: Yeah... It can
be stressful meeting family. I know it felt weird meeting Hei
when I first met him, and weirder meeting my father who I didn't
remember. He says, also remembering when he "met" Qrow in
London.
Qrow sticks close to Laura as she wraps her arm around his.
Qrow: Well... I didn't know what to expect, but I'm glad
everyone's getting along. He then looks over to Kendra and
Romeo, where Kendra was having no problem giving Romeo
attention. Kendra will probably sit there for hours with him too
if no one stops her. He says somewhat jokingly.
Hei and Alice were not far off from Qrow, mostly watching the
girls clap at Josephine. Hei: I wasn't really sure what to
expect either. I'm not really a social person, so I can really
only apologize if I'm not too talkative. Normally Kindron is the
more social one of us. He turns to Laura. That does remind me
though... Where's Yuffie at? I noticed she's not present.
Kindron and I wanted to introduce her to Alice and Acillia. He
says, realizing Qrow and Laura's daughter wasn't present with
the group.
As Ander makes his statement, Kendrix has that moment where he
remembers Charlie hugging him. Kendrix: Right... That makes more
sense. My girlfriend hugged me before I got here. She said she'd
be by in a bit. That must be why. He looks over to Ander. It
doesn't smell weird, does it? Like, I don't need to go and wash
myself off again, do I? It's hard smelling nice around people
with enhanced senses, especially around my Uncle Kindron who's
got werewolf smell. He asks Ander quietly.
