Many, many years ago.
Millia: We're gonna die, aren't we? Millia asks Merlin, tears in
her eyes. All that training... I wasn't prepared for this... She
says, trying not to break down.
Merlin: Starlet! Take Millia and leave while you can! He says,
pushing Millia over to Starlet.
Earlier:
The time was one of desperation... Those that have learned about
Tartarus Kindron's history through Balor, or through Millia and
Merlin, or through Shamala have likely all heard just how bad
the final battle with Balor was... But only a few have heard or
seen the full story. Those that know this time, know it as the
Long Seven Nights. From storms caused by Manannan, to the
revival of an image of Balor, to even a plague and even trying
to induce worldwide nightmares, Kindron so far had been
successful in fighting off each "Night" planned by the Black
Moon group. However, the final night had come, and Malice's
return was at hand.
Kindron and his friends had fought in a long war against Balor.
Tara was on the verge of all out civil war because of incidents
Balor manipulated. Thanks to Balor turning religious sects
against each other, a war was about to break out that was going
to be used to resurrect Malice, the god of evil. The Alban
Knights had shed light on a vital truth: The Black Moon book of
prophecy was not a book of prophecy as previously believed, but
was a book on how to call forth Malice and the events that he
ordered set in motion before his return.
This is the story... The story of the first part of the Final
Night.
"I trust you will stop them, Kindron. Our people have faith in
you." Those were the Queen of Tara's final words to Kindron
before Kindron left with the royal knights to fight Balor.
Kindron Darkfire had gathered Tara's army for the final battle.
The hero who had united the elf race, the giants, and the
humans, was ready to take on the most powerful threat Tara had
seen to this point.
Tara's warriors had gathered behind Kindron after Kindron had
found out where to go to stop Malice. However, with Balor also
getting ready to fight them, a decision had to be made. Kindron
could not fight Balor and stop Malice's return. Nor could he
fight Malice's people and protect the people from Balor.
Kindron looks back to the Aces, his friends he had been
traveling with for years. Among them was the magic martial
artist Merlin Jones, the alchemist known only as J, the magic
songstress known as Starlet, the chain blade user known as
Eiren, and the man known only as "Treasure Hunter." Among the
group was also Millia and Shamala, who were standing ready.
Behind them was Marleid and Piran, with Marleid being the head
royal knight and Queen's bodyguard, and Piran being a mage and
follower of the goddess Hymerark. Standing with them was Dowra,
the head of the Giant army, and Maike, the head of the elf army.
And lastly, present was the Alban Knights. At the front were the
commanders of the four units. Talvish stood at the front with
Aveline, Altaim, and Caswyn all standing behind him.
Merlin: Don't worry, Kindron... We got this. We only need to
hold Balor off until you get back. We can handle that. He says
confidently to Kindron.
Kindron: I know you guys have gotten stronger... But it doesn't
feel right to leave you guys here. Balor is a lot stronger than
you realize. He says to them.
Shamala, in a time before she had fully grasped human language,
walks over and puts her hand on Kindron's shoulder to put him at
ease. She seemed to growl a bit as she talked. Shamala: We'll be
careful. We know full well how dangerous Beimnech is.
Dowra: Yeah, don't worry about us. After all the fighting you've
done for us, it's our time to shine for once. She says, punching
her fists together in a show that she was ready to fight.
Kindron sighs, knowing they were right and he should just go. He
rubs his head in annoyance.
Kindron: Fine... But make sure you know, you don't have to beat
him. Just hold him off until I get back. Don't push yourselves
too far because Balor will exploit any weakness he might see in
you.
They all nod, getting ready for the battle to come.
Kindron goes over to Millia, kneeling down and patting her on
the head. Kindron: Listen Millia... I want you to be mindful.
Remember your training and stay calm. Balor will seek to unnerve
you and you will need to remember your mental training to
survive that eye of his. He says. Despite the fact that Millia
was young, her godly power was extremely strong, and Kindron
knew that she would likely be the difference between the group
winning and losing. He hands her his sword. Take this. This
sword was blessed with Morrighan's power not long ago. And I
think you can make use of it. Remember this: Darkness is not
good or evil... It bends to the will of the one who uses it.
Millia just smiles and takes the sword. She draws it and holds
it up. Millia: I won't fail. I'll win. She says confidently.
Kindron just smiles, and stands back up. He looks to the group.
Kindron: Balor is a strong opponent. counter his demonic energy
however you can, and remove his head before he can use that
restoration skill. He says to the group as they all nod.
Kindron goes over to Merlin, whispering in his ear.
Merlin just smiles. Merlin: Don't worry... I promise I'll
protect her.
Kindron vanishes in a burst of Sonido, making his way toward
Malice's resurrection site.
Dowra and Maike stand at the forefront of the armies alongside
Shamala and the Aces, with the Alban Knights also standing
ready.
Talvish: If we combine our powers, we might just be able to last
long enough for this to work.
Dowra smiles and takes her guns out, while Maike readies his
magical staff.
Maike: It would be disgraceful if we lose here.
Dowra: Agreed. She says in response to Maike confidently.
The royal knight, Marleid, and the mage, Piran, both walk to the
front. Marleid: I've been waiting a long time to face down and
finally take out Beimnech. Let's finish this. She says as she
summons her sword and shield.
Piran readies his magic staff, but stands nervously behind the
heavy hitters. Piran was very young, still a kid, but his magic
power was strong enough he'd been recruited by Tara as a royal
mage. Piran: I'll try and focus attack magic. And heal anyone I
can. But I'm not strong like you guys, so I can't get close to
him unless I want him to kick me into the next country. He says.
Shamala and Eiren stand side by side as they summon their
respective weapons. Eiren was using her trusted chain blade
while Shamala had her dreamcatcher weapon.
In the distance, mist surrounded the area, as the group got
ready, knowing what was coming next.
As they all started to get ready, they looked over and saw
Balor, who looked different from usual.
Marleid: What's going on? Why is Beimnech in a different form?
She asks, confused.
Shamala: He's a demon god... This must be his demon god form. It
means he's not playing around this time. She says with a growl.
Balor: It seems Kindron went off to stop Malice... Which means I
hope you all will entertain me for a while. He says with a
smile.
Marleid was the first to move in to attack alongside Talvish and
Aveline, and the three charge Balor first.
From the back, Dowra shoots her guns and Piran and Maike fire
magic attacks at Balor, being careful to avoid their allies as
the armies charged into battle.
Balor smiles and moves in a burst of speed. He swings his sword
with a mighty shockwave, sending Marleid, Talvish and Aveline
flying back. The shockwave seemed to also knock the magic
attacks out of the air as they hit the ground around Balor.
Balor looks to the group with a scoff. Balor: I hope this isn't
the best you can do? He says as he moves again, attacking
Aveline and Talvish with critical slashes that slash right
through their armor like hot butter.
Talvish and Aveline, unable to process what had happened, fall
to the ground, unable to move as they were close to death.
Immediately, Piran and Shamala rush over to heal them as the
armies attack Balor.
However, Balor moves his hair to the side, and uses his demonic
eye to put pressure on the area using his demonic energy. Once
he does, most of the armies fall to the ground, choking on the
demonic pressure in the air with some even passing out or even
dying from the pressure of Balor's demonic pressure. Many of the
stronger people didn't get up immediately, but were slowly
overcoming.
Dowra and Maike attack Balor, jumping and trying to hit him,
with Dowra trying to use her gauntlets and Maike using his
staff.
Dowra tries to punch Balor, but a swift slash that wasn't even
seen by the group slashes off her arm, and then a second slash
across her chest caused her to fall to the ground in critical
condition.
Maike: NO! He says as he notices Dowra fall to the ground and
desperately attacks. However, Balor simple sidesteps as Maike
attacks with a fire wave, and before Maike could process Balor
dodging his attack, Maike realized his staff was on the ground
in two pieces and Balor's blade had run through his chest. Maike
is unable to say anything as Balor removes his blade and Maike
falls to the ground dead.
Millia: Damn you! She says angrily as she powers up with divine
energy. She goes and attacks Balor, but Balor just slaps her
away, sending her flying. Luckily, Millia was caught by Merlin,
and Merlin tries to help Millia to her feet.
J and Treasure Hunter try to attack Balor from behind, Treasure
Hunter having his guns ready and J having his sword. However,
Balor just looks back for a moment and before anyone could see
it, Balor slashes off both of their heads, and they fall to the
ground before their attacks could land.
Starlet: NO! She says desperate as she tries to blast Balor with
a song wave, using her voice to try and slow down Balor.
However, Millia and Merlin barely get Starlet out of the way
before a wave of hellfire almost hits them.
Caswyn appears behind Balor, moving in a burst of time/space
distortion, trying to hit him. However, while Caswyn dodges the
slash, Balor punches him hard in the gut, punching right through
his armor and sending him flying.
Meanwhile, the armies that were able to move started running
down Balor, only for most of them to get cut down by Balor.
Meanwhile, Piran was helping Marleid up after having stabilized
Aveline and Talvish, and they both look to the battle alongside
Shamala.
Marleid: Dammit... We're getting killed out here! We need a plan
fast! She says, trying to hide her fear as she noticed how many
of their friends were down or dead already.
Shamala: I'll try and use my panther form. But you're only going
to get one shot.
Eiren: It's all we'll need. She says as she readies her chain
blade, charging it with her fomorian darkness energy so she
could attack when she gets her opening.
Shamala turns into her Black Panther King form, towering over
Balor as she tries to attack him. However, Balor simply jumps
up, slashing both Shamala's legs, to which the wave of the
attack knocks her up into the air, and then Balor slashes her
chest as he knocked her into the air with his attacks.
Meanwhile, Marleid and Eiren move in to attack, with Marleid
trying to hit him with her sword.
Balor tries to grab Marleid, but is stopped by Eiren's chain
blade wrapping around his arm. Balor pulls on the chain blade,
forcing Eiren off her feet and swings the chain blade, sending
her flying into a nearby building.
Marleid: JUST DIE BEIMNECH! Marleid yells in anger as she tried
to use the opportunity to attack Balor, but Balor just kicks her
back, knocking her back.
Marleid tries to get up, Balor smiles.
Balor: Too bad. I rather enjoyed our banter in the past, but now
it's time for you to die. He says as he flicks his finger
upward, and a pillar of hellfire comes out from under Marleid as
she stood up. Marleid wasn't able to move in time, and screams
in pain as the hellfire burns her. However, she was only able to
scream for a few moments before her screams go silent as the
pillar of fire disappears and reveals nothing but the charred
corpse of Marleid, who falls to the ground, falling to pieces
due to being ashes.
Piran: No... Not Marleid... He says, in tears. He realizes Balor
was looking at him, but couldn't process charging a magic attack
before Piran had been cleaved in two by Balor's blade and falls
to the ground dead.
As more of the armies try to attack, Balor turns to meet them in
battle.
Army General: For Tara! For the Knights! For the hero, Darkfire!
He says as he attacks Balor with the army behind him. However,
the army quickly is getting cut down.
Not far behind the fight, Millia and Merlin where healing
Shamala who had reverted back to normal.
Millia: We're gonna die, aren't we? Millia asks Merlin, tears in
her eyes. All that training... I wasn't prepared for this... She
says, trying not to break down.
Merlin: Starlet! Take Millia and leave while you can! He says,
pushing Millia over to Starlet.
Millia grabs Merlin's arm desperately. Millia: No. We have to
run! Don't fight him! She says. She knew it was selfish, but at
this point, in Millia's eyes, she was willing to sacrifice the
knights fighting as long as no more of her friends died.
Merlin: I can't do that squirt... He says, gritting his teeth.
Sorry. He says as he removes his hand away from Millia.
Meanwhile, Eiren emerges from the rubble and joins the battle
again, attacking Balor again with her chain blade. However,
Eiren was reverting to her demon form, as evidenced by her
expression becoming mroe angry as she attacked.
Millia grabbed Merlin's arm again, stopping him. Millia:
Please... We have to run.
Merlin: Sorry kid... He says as he hits her in a pressure point
to disable her movements.
He looks to Starlet. Merlin: I made a promise... I promise I
failed to keep, but at least I can try and protect at least one
of you guys... He says sternly. Starlet knew instantly that
Merlin was not joking around.
Merlin grits his teeth and he runs in.
Starlet grabs Millia, carrying her. Millia tried to move, but
couldn't.
Eiren is knocked through another building, and then Merlin jumps
up and attack Balor, infusing ice into his fists to attack.
Merlin: THIS IS FOR J AND TREASURE HUNTER! He says angrily as he
tries to punch through Balor's sword, but instead, Balor blocks
it and uses the force as he moves it up to knock Merlin's fist
up in the air.
But before Merlin could be cut down, Eiren had begun attacking
again, now back in her normal form as she had begun to get her
demon half under control.
Merlin tries to attack, but is kicked aside by Balor, but Balor
is knocked back by Eiren's attacks.
Balor, instead of slashing Eiren, grabs her head, and breaks her
arm with his other hand's strength, causing her chain blade to
fall to the ground. Eiren screams in pain as her arm is broken.
Balor: Your demon half... It calls to me. It wants to be free.
Let's see if we can make that happen. He says with a smile as he
runs his demonic energy through Eiren like lightning, causing
immense pain to Eiren, and causing her to scream in pain even
more as her eyes tear up from the pain.
Merlin appears behind Balor, uppercutting Balor's back with a
blast of lightning as he knocks Balor back. Since Balor had been
focused on trying to bring out Eiren's demon half, he got caught
off guard.
Merlin tries to get a second attack in, but gets slashed by
Balor. Even though Merlin moved at the last second to try and
avoid a fatal slash, the slash still made him fall to the
ground, unable to get up due to being in critical condition.
Eiren was on the ground, unable to get up. Balor looks to her
for a moment, but then shrugs his shoulders as he figures he'd
move on to attack the other soldiers and come back to finish
Eiren off after killing more of the soldiers.
As Balor cuts down even more of the armies charging into the
battle, he notices Starlet running with Millia.
Balor: The girl with the divine power... He says as he looks to
Millia. Starlet looks back, realizing that Balor was looking at
them.
Starlet tries to get a song, but a blast of hellfire hits her
back as she turns to take the brunt of the attack so that Millia
wouldn't be hit by it. Starlet falls to the ground, shielding
Millia so that Balor would think them both dead. Though Starlet
wasn't dead since it wasn't as strong an attack as the one used
to burn Marleid, Starlet was still in critical condition.
Millia: Starlet... She says, trying to get up, finally able to
move again as her force of will lets her move. However, Starlet
holds her down.
Starlet: Stay here... He has to think you're dead. She says
weakly, still holding her down. Though Millia had slightly been
burned, she only had minor burns.
Millia: No! Let me help! She says as she tries to desperate get
up. But even as Starlet dies, she manages to keep Millia from
being able to get up.
Meanwhile, most of the soldiers were getting cut down, burned
alive, or just broken by Balor's attacks.
Balor: Come on! Is this really it?! He says angrily, since no
one had posed a challenge yet. You people had so long to
prepare! Where's the challenge?! He says just before another
chain blade attack came at him. Balor then also dodges a
lightning attack.
Merlin and Eiren, healed by Merlin's magic, notice Starlet on
the ground, and thought Millia and Starlet were dead.
Merlin: DAMN YOU! He yells angrily as he attacks Balor. However,
Balor just kicks him back, but before he could slash Merlin
again, Eiren's chain blade wraps around his blade as she manages
to stop his attack, albeit only temporarily.
Merlin tries to attack Balor with another lightning punch, but
Balor, letting go of his sword, punches Merlin in the gut hard
enough that Merlin falls to the ground and coughs up blood.
Balor then vanishes and reappears next to Eiren. He smiles as he
grabs her and runs his energy through her like lightning again,
torturing her. Eiren screams again as she cannot seem to break
free.
Balor: You're the strongest one... But you're holding back on
me. I can't have that. He says with a smile as he uses more
energy to try and push Eiren even further.
Eiren is unable to hold back, and goes into her full demon form
as she slashes at Balor, impaling his chest with her chain
blade. Balor, caught off guard, was nearly killed if it hadn't
been for his briogh skills. He then throws her back as he pulls
the chain blade out of his chest.
Balor: That's better. He says as Eiren growls and gets ready to
attack.
Merlin gets up and goes over to Eiren. Merlin: Eiren! Get
control! He says, trying to shake her, but Eiren just slashes
him, knocking him to the ground again. Eiren starts to attack
everyone around her, not even caring about Balor anymore as
there were soldiers closer to her than Balor.
Balor: Well... I'll let her have some fun. He says as he cuts
down even more soldiers.
He starts to look around, realizing he was almost out of people
to kill, as the only ones left were people who hadn't been
killed by his demonic eye's demonic pressure.
Meanwhile, Shamala appears behind Balor, having transformed into
a smaller panther form, and bites Balor's neck. Balor barely
avoids a fatal wound, and punches Shamala's panther form hard
enough that she is sent flying, and when she hits the ground,
she returns to her normal form.
Balor goes over to Shamala, looking at her as she tries to get
up. He holds his sword to her throat.
Balor: Well... It was a valiant effort... He says, as he uses
his healing ability to recover from the chest injury and
Shamala's bite attack.
Shamala: He'll kill you, Beimnech... You know that right? She
says with an angry growl. She knew full well how many of their
friends had died, and that Eiren was running around attacking
what was left of the soldiers.
Balor: That remains to be seen. But unfortunately, you won't be
seeing our final battle. He says with a smile. He gets ready to
slash her.
Shamala closes her eyes, figuring this was the end, but opened
again when she heard a sword clash.
Shamala looked to see Kindron having blocked Balor's sword.
There was a look of coldness in Kindron's eyes, as he knocks
Balor back.
Kindron: You won't hurt her. He says simply.
From the side, Merlin runs up, having healed himself again from
near death as he runs over to Shamala and helps heal her.
Balor laughs. Balor: What makes you care so much for that one?
She's nothing but an animal. But then again... They're all
animals ripe for slaughter. He says with a sadistic smile.
Kindron looked around, noticing all the dead people around him.
Kindron: No... He says, looking around and seeing the bodies of
his friends. Noticing Marleid's charred corpse, Piran now being
in two pieces, seeing Starlet burned to death, and even seeing
J's and Treasure Hunter's heads on the ground was enough to make
Kindron explode in dark power, as his anger fed into his
darkness energy.
Balor was surprised as Kindron let out a scream of pure rage,
and an explosion of darkness pushes Balor back and into the air
due to the shockwave.
When the darkness subsides, Kindron was now in pure hollow form,
turned into a Vasto Lorde form. He was breathing heavily in pure
anger, gripping his newest sword, Black Death (before it was
destroyed in the battle with Malice not too long after this
fight) with enough strength that the sword's hilt made a
strained sound as Kindron's grip was almost tearing the hilt.
As Shamala sees Kindron in Vasto Lorde form, she growls to
herself in the panther language which just sounded like her
whimpering like an animal. Shamala: Not again... She had said in
the panther language to herself.
Merlin: We got to do something! He says desperately.
Kindron turns to Shamala and Merlin. Kindron: Save anyone who's
still alive! And then try to subdue Eiren! I'll help her in a
minute. He says as he turns back to Balor. Merlin nods and goes
over to Starlet and Millia first, with Shamala behind him as
they both went to check on Millia.
Kindron on the other hand, just stood facing down Balor, his
eyes glowing with fury.
Balor: You... You're not supposed to be here. He says with a
frown. You were supposed to stop Malice's resurrection! Not
this! You couldn't have stopped him already!
Kindron: You thought you could kill all of my friends and I
wouldn't come?! He says loudly, his voice releasing shockwaves
of demonic energy.
Balor: No... Damn you! He says as he powers up, powering up his
demonic energy as much as he could and channeling his briogh
energy into every amplification he could muster.
Kindron just lets out a devastating screech in hollow form as he
powers up.
Merlin and Shamala nearly fall over near Starlet's body. While
they could tell Millia was alive, all they could tell was that
Millia was crying uncontrollably, muffled by Starlet's body
still on top of her.
With the energy released, Merlin and Shamala couldn't get up.
Merlin: Holy crap! His energy is stronger than Balor's demon
eye! Where the hell did he get this kind of raw power! He says,
trying to get up under the pressure of Kindron's energy.
Shamala turns to Kindron. Shamala: NO. This can't happen again!
She tries to yell at Kindron, remembering how Kindron had turned
hollow against Malice so many years ago the first time they met.
However, Kindron just turns to her. It was hard to tell behind
his mask, but the sad look in his eyes told Shamala everything
she needed to know. Kindron: You don't have to worry... I'm in
control this time. He says as he turns back to Balor, his eyes
going back to cold fury.
Shamala froze in place, and couldn't even hear Merlin trying to
tell her to get up. She could tell that Kindron was in control,
but she could also tell something was very wrong with him. Of
course... That's not to say that she hadn't also been
traumatized by their friends all dying.
Kindron disappears, and with a slash, slashes right through
Balor's sword and slashes Balor's chest.
Balor was surprised, but forms a blade of demonic energy around
his sword and tries to slash at Kindron. He growls in anger.
Kindron hadn't followed his plan for him. Kindron was supposed
to stop Malice and then come back for him, but now Malice would
return.
The two, both in pure rage, charge each other as both fly up
ward and charge each other. Their blades clash in a massive
shockwaves that bring the buildings down around them. The two
move so fast that they were hard to keep track of, slashing at
each other about 19 times a second as they clashed blades being
evenly matched.
Unlike their last few battles, this wasn't about warrior vs
warrior, but this was about raw murderous intent. Kindron and
Balor weren't just fighting for the sake of it, but were truly,
for the first time, trying to kill each other. Both of their
anger could be felt as each attack released shockwaves that
seemed to radiate through the city.
Shamala and Merlin try to help Millia, carrying her as they try
to find anyone they could.
Merlin and Shamala looked over to Eiren, and Merlin simply
nodded to Shamala who was looking over to him. Merlin knew what
he had to do, as much as it pained him to do it again.
Shamala tries get to a safe distance, while Merlin goes to
Eiren.
Merlin: Sorry about this... He says quietly as he charges a
magic attack. Eiren notices him, and goes to attack him. Merlin
punches her in the gut, and a crystal forms around Eiren. Eiren,
realizing the crystal was a seal, tries to break free,
screeching in demonic form. But before too long, Eiren was
trapped in the large crystal, which Merlin picked up and carried
off. There were tears in Merlin's eyes as he looked at the
crystal, and looked back at the carnage Balor had left behind.
He then grabs the crystal with Eiren inside.
Merlin: I'm sorry... I failed you Kindron. I know I was supposed
to protect them. He says sadly, and then starts running with the
crystal to find somewhere to put it until Kindron was done
fighting Balor. When Eiren had been sealed before, Kindron was
the one to rescue her, because he was the only one that could
not only go into her mind, but had the mental discipline to
combat Eiren's demonic half without succumbing to it's
influence. However, Merlin had a feeling that they weren't going
to be so lucky this time... Even if Kindron won his fight
against Balor, there was no way Kindron would be in the
disciplined state he'd need to be in to free Eiren a second
time.
Meanwhile, Kindron and Balor were trading slashes still, both
trying to cut each other down. Kindron was forming a blade of
darkness around his sword, and Balor formed a blade of demonic
energy around his sword. The two traded blows and fought each
other for what seemed like hours. Both got slashes on each
other, with Kindron recovering using his Darkfire regeneration,
and Balor recovering some of his injuries with Celtic demonic
regeneration.
Kindron and Balor traded more blows, before Kindron managed to
pierce Balor's sword again, placing several slashes on Balor
before he could reform his demonic energy. When Balor tried to
spear Kindron with what was left of his sword, Kindron had
vanished in a burst of Sonido, and appeared behind Balor,
kicking him from overhead and sending him flying downward until
he hit the ground.
Kindron threw his sword downward toward Balor, and speared him
in the shoulder.
Kindron then flew down and stomped on Balor's chest, breaking
his armor and causing Balor to cough up blood as he screamed in
pain. Kindron then mercilessly started punching Balor, using his
strength to punch through Balor's armor on his chest, and even
punching Balor in the face. Balor couldn't even get up or even
move, as he was unable to get away from Kindron's flurry of
punches.
Kindron wasn't trying to kill Balor right now, as Balor's
injuries were healing, but instead Kindron was simply torturing
Balor, mercilessly pummeling Balor.
After a short time, Kindron removed his sword from Balor's
shoulder. Kindron jumps up and fires a wave of darkness down on
Balor, blasting Balor with the wave as it explodes.
Unable to move, Balor lays there, chuckling as Kindron lands in
front of him, holding his sword as Kindron gets ready for
another blow.
Balor: You're ruthless... I approve. He says with a weak laugh.
Since he had used his recovery skill earlier, he couldn't use it
again as he had put all of his briogh energy into his
amplification.
Kindron: What did you expect... Weren't you the one who said "do
what you have to do"? He says darkly as he holds his sword.
Don't worry... I'm going to take your soul to Tartarus... And
I'm going to enjoy torturing your down there for what you've
done here today. He says with a glare to Balor.
Kindron doesn't wait for Balor to respond, and slices Balor's
head off. Using his darkness energy in the slash, and then
blasting Balor's remains with his flames to destroy the body
completely, Kindron was taking no chances in making sure Balor
couldn't use his recovering skill (Since there wouldn't be
anything left of Balor to recover).
Kindron realizes that Balor's soul was no longer present in the
living plane, realizing that Balor had in fact died as he sensed
Balor in the Veil.
As Kindron growls to himself, Shamala, Millia and Merlin arrive,
having regrouped. Since the fight was over they were going to
help Kindron.
However, Kindron looks to them for a moment, and then disappears
in a burst of dark flames.
Millia: Where did he go?
Merlin: The Veil... Probably to make sure Balor's soul goes to
where it belongs... Hopefully the worst hell imaginable. He says
with an angry expression.
Meanwhile in the Veil, Kindron appears, still in hollow form.
Balor gets up, having reverted back to normal form after his
death since he was in soul form. Balor smiles. Balor: That was
fun... I finally got to go all out against a worthy warrior. And
left behind a legacy to continue my true mission. He says as he
looks to Kindron.
Kindron: Your legacy disappears today. I'm not going to let you
turn me into a monster. I won't become like you.
Balor chuckles softly. Balor: You don't think so yet. But you
will.
Kindron: It's a shame... I would have been happy to give you a
warrior's death if that's what you wanted. I could have even
taken you in the afterlife and you could have lived in Tatarus.
But in the end, what you've done is unforgivable. And you won't
be going to Tartarus for a pleasant stay...
Balor laughs. Balor: You still don't get it! It doesn't matter
what you do to me! Don't you get it?! Far worse has been done to
me. Why do you think I am the way I am? He then looks up to the
sky. I used to be like you. Hopeful of a better future, wanting
to fight for what I believed in. I used to be a hero to the
fomors. But when I was forced to lead them, they stopped seeing
me that way, and soon they became lazy.
Kindron: Yeah, I'm not having this discussion again. He says
going over to Balor.
Balor just chuckles to himself. Balor: You haven't seen it yet.
Oh well... You will eventually. You and I are the same. You just
haven't seen the true side of demons or humans yet. Or you
refuse to. They rely on you too much. How easy was it for me to
kill them. You think you've done good for them, but if you had,
they would have been able to hold me off at least until you
stopped Malice. But instead, they fell like ants. He says the
last part with a smile.
Kindron stays silent for a moment. However, while a cold fury
came over him, he was stopped from doing anything when he sensed
something. It had taken a while, but elder Death appeared,
presumably to collect Balor's soul.
Kindron just turns slightly to look in Death's general
direction. Kindron: Here for him?
Death: I am.
Kindron: You can't have him. He's mine. He says darkly.
Death: I can and I will. Now hand him. He says simply.
Kindron: I am the god of death! I don't listen to anyone! He
says angrily as he goes to attack Death.
Death sighs and sidesteps Kindron, chopping downward to hit
Kindron's shoulder, and knocking him to the ground so hard that
it created a crater. Kindron tries to use his sword to attack
Death, but Death simply knocks Kindron's sword to the side, and
then pushes his cane into Kindron's hollow mask, breaking it.
Once broken, Kindron returns to normal, completely surprised at
how easily Death had beaten him.
Death: Don't get full of yourself. Compared to me... You're no
god, you're just an ant trying to fight a bear. He says to
Kindron.
Kindron: Balor is mine! He says through gritted teeth as he gets
up.
Voice: Actually... He's mine. The voice says as he appears
behind Balor. He grabs Balor, who freezes. The man looks to
Death. Hello again, Death... Long time. For this universe
anyway. He says with a smile.
Death: Malice. He's mine. He says, glaring at Malice.
Malice: Actually, no. He made a deal for reincarnation with me.
Which makes him mine. He says, showing Death an invisible
contract that signified Balor's alliance with the void in
exchange for new life. Only Death would be able to see it, who
sighs. Malice then looks to Balor with a smile, glaring into
Balor's eyes which caused Balor to give a look of genuine fear
because he knew what was coming next.
Balor: Malice... You're here. He says, almost unable to move.
Malice: It's LORD Malice to you. He says darkly. Don't think I
don't know what you did... You empowered the son of Hades so he
would stop my resurrection. You thought that if I couldn't come,
I wouldn't claim your soul, didn't you? But you're wrong. And
for your transgression, I'm going to enjoy spending the next 100
or so years showing you why I'm not to be toyed with. I've
already let my dear wife know you're coming, and she's gonna
make you real comfortable in the Dark's monster pit until I
return. We're going to have fun until I'm ready to bring you
back to life. He says with a smile.
Kindron gets up, readying his sword as he calls it back to him.
Kindron: NO. I won't let you take him! He's mine! I'm torturing
the bastard in Tartarus! He says as he attacks Malice. Malice
simply catches his sword, and fires a blast from his eyes to
blast through Kindron's chest, and then kicks Kindron back.
Kindron, unable to get up, looks to Malice who waves and then
disappears.
Death sighs and uses his death energy to heal Kindron. Death: I
hate to do this... But I can't intervere now that he's got a
human body. So you are going to have to kill it. Whatever the
means. He says as he turns away and gets ready to walk away, his
cane tapping the ground with each step. He then turns back. Try
attacking me again, and you'll be dead before you can regret
your mistake. He says darkly before disappearing.
Kindron, realizing what had happened, goes back to the living
world.
Upon appearing back at the battlefield, Shamala, Millia, and
Merlin had healed everyone who was still alive, which at this
point was only Aveline, Talvish and Caswyn, and a few soldiers
who had luck on their side.
Millia: Kindron! You're back. She says, going over to hug him.
She was still upset, but seeing Kindron (who was back in his
normal state) brought her some comfort.
However, Kindron wasn't his usual self as he stops Millia, which
confuses her.
Kindron: Shamala. You and Millia are going back to the Land of
Shamans. Now. He says to Shamala.
Shamala: What? She says with a growl.
Kindron: You heard me. Merlin. You go with them. He says to
Merlin.
Merlin: No. I'm not leaving! Not after what Balor did! He says,
gritting his teeth.
However, his fight pretty much left his body as he got a glare
from Kindron.
Kindron: You couldn't even protect them from Balor... How are
you going to protect them from someone worse than Balor. He says
darkly to Merlin specifically.
Merlin: That's not fair! He says angrily.
Kindron turns away from them. Kindron: None of you are strong
enough to fight what's coming. It was mistake for me to trust
any of you, and let you fight alongside me... It's time for all
of you to go home while you still live. He says as he turns away
from the group.
Shamala, knowing something was wrong, gets up and looks to
Kindron. Shamala: You don't mean that...
Kindron turns back to look at Shamala with a dark look. Kindron:
Leave now... Or I will take you back to the Land of Shamans
myself and make sure Akule makes sure he puts you somewhere so
you don't get in my way.
Millia, scared, backs away from Kindron. Millia: Kindron? What's
wrong with you? She says weakly.
Kindron: I thought you were all strong enough to handle this...
Turns out I was wrong. You're all weak, and I'm done babysitting
you all. He says before vanishing in a burst of Darkfire sonido.
Merlin: What the hell was that? He says about what just happened
with Kindron, lost for words. He was barely able to hold it
together when Kindron blamed him for not being able to protect
their friends.
Shamala: Something's wrong... There's no way he feels that way.
He would never admit it, but the days he spent with us, with the
Aces... It's the only time he's ever been truly happy. She says,
putting her hand on Merlin's shoulder to comfort him. Kindron
would never blame you for not being able to stop Malice.
Something is clearly wrong with him... There's traces on him...
Something dark affected him. And I felt it before. She says as
she looks to where she could sense Kindron making his way toward
Malice's resurrection site. It's him... He's returned.
Merlin: Malice? I thought Kindron was supposed to stop it before
he came here...
Shamala: There's no way he made it there, and had time to come
back here to save what was left of us. No... He must have turned
back when he sensed us all dying. She says, analyzing the
situation. Malice must have been resurrected in the time Kindron
was here. And I suspect Kindron saw Malice when he was in the
Veil.
Millia: What do we do? She says, unsure of what to do next as
she grips Kindron's previous sword that he had given her.
Shamala: Merlin... Take Millia back to Teacher (Akule). I'm
going after Kindron. Something is wrong with him, and he can't
fight Malice in the state he's in. But Millia cannot be allowed
to fight Malice. If Malice finds out about Millia, there's no
telling what he'll do to try and get a hold of her divine power.
Merlin: I'm going too. He says before being punched in the
stomach by Shamala hard enough he fell to his knees. Dammit...
If one more person punches me today... He says through gritted
teeth.
Shamala turns into a bird and flies after Kindron.
Merlin, who didn't know what to do, went to Millia.
It was a dark time, and it was only a prelude to what would come
next. With Malice's successful resurrection, Tara fell, and
Kindron's efforts to save the Kingdom would fail as the entire
kingdom would tear itself apart in one of the bloodiest civil
wars never recorded in history.
Present Day.
Aveline: It was the hardest day we ever had... And the only time
the Alban Knights have ever failed to protect a kingdom. We lost
our fourth commander that day... She says, having explained the
story of what happened during that final battle with some help
from Merlin. Even though Aveline and Caswyn didn't have the full
story of what happened, like when Kindron met Malice, they had
gathered bits and pieces over the years from people like
Shamala, Merlin and Millia. Aveline looked a bit different, as
she had cut her hair after the encounter with Father Hei and the
alternate Aveline during Talvish's and Aton's betrayal.
Boris: Why didn't you tell us before that you knew Kindron? He
asks Aveline and Caswyn curiously. Boris was still trying to
figure out everything about leading Russian Special Forces, and
mostly hadn't really known too much about Kindron or even about
the Alban Knights, so he was just listening and analyzing
everything he was being told.
Caswyn: It was Kindron's wish that his past was never revealed.
He swore us to secrecy even about the fact that he joined the
Alban Knights back then before we knew he was the Son of Hades.
If others found out he was an official member of our group, then
the Knights would have probably hated us for letting a demi-god
into the group, but Kindron was essential... He was the only
reason we beat the Apostles of the Unholy Light. But it was also
the fact that he didn't want people close to him to know about
his past, for fear that the wrong people finding out may use it
against his family.
Aveline: However... With Balor and even Malice here again. We
cannot let what happened to Tara happen again. If our knowledge
can help stop them, I think Kindron would want us to break our
vow and tell you what happened so we can try and help you plan.
Right now, I'm sure Kindron would agree that protecting the
people he cared about, and helping prevent Balor and Malice from
getting their way would trump the former secret we kept.
Merlin: I should never have left. If we'd helped Kindron and
Shamala, they wouldn't have gone down such a dark path after
they defeated Malice. He says, regret in his eyes.
Aveline: I heard V had fought Balor. And based on what I have
heard... Balor is toying with her the same way he toyed with
Kindron during the Seven Nights incident. And I fear that he's
waiting for the right time to reveal his full power for when he
either feels V is strong enough, or he gets tired of waiting for
V to get strong enough to fight him.
Caswyn: Hopefully... When she gets back, we can tell her what
happened, so that she knows what she's up against. I'm sure
Kindron would want to help her avoid suffering like he did.
Boris swears in Russian. Boris: The girls are not gonna be happy
to hear about this... Of that we can be certain.
Caswyn: But knowing what awaits us and V being able to plan for
Balor's full power is going to give us an advantage we didn't
have last time. Now, we have a better idea of his full power,
and we're all a lot stronger. Balor may be stronger slightly as
a Malician, but V should still be able to beat him with the
proper training. I hope... Now Malice is a whole different
problem.
From the shadows, Spyte Smith, the older son of Zeus walks into
view. Spyte: Don't worry... I have a plan. If it goes right, V
and her sisters will win. How long it might take, of that I
cannot be certain. I may not be fit to rule Olympus. But the
least I can do is help the true worthy rulers of Olympus defeat
those that threaten it.
The question surrounding Balor has now become: Will history
repeat itself? Or will V, the Vins and Goten be able to overcome
the threats that will prove to be among the most powerful
they've faced yet? No one knew the answer, but one thing was
clear: Battles were coming that would likely test the limits of
the group's abilities, both physically and mentally.
End.
