Kialo gets a thoughtful look as Kendrix explains what he's been
told about the Dark Dimension. Kialo: This Dark Dimension sounds
interesting and like a good place to train. I'm actually
surprised that I've never heard of it before but wouldn't be
surprised if my Pops and Grandpa Hei had heard of it. The family
has had a strict travel policy since the disappearance of
Grandpa's cousin, Karasu, who basically vanished and still
haven't been found. So dimensions deemed possibly dangerous by
Pops, Grandpa, or Pappy are declared off limits. He says with a
thoughtful look. Kialo: But I'll talk to those you mentioned
about this Dark Dimension. I could always use another place for
training.
Clarice finishes with her stethoscope as Zandrick agrees to
help, removes it satisfied with what she hears, and places it
back in her bag. Clarice: Thank you. Her heart and breathing
sounds good. She says as she pulls out a sterile blood draw kit
and hands it to Zandrick as she gets a tourniquet. Clarice: I'll
need you to take this and be ready to start switching vials with
me once I begin the blood draw. The kit has three empty vials, a
wrapped sterile needle, and alcohol wipes.
Alysa turns her head a bit but still doesn't stir.
Anna: Okay.. I can handle another alternate son, but when is the
multiverse going to surprise me with an alternate daughter. Anna
says with a more relaxed, jocular tone of voice to Zaz. She then
looks at Kindron. Anna: Well it seems like this day couldn't
possibly get anymore crazy unless the multiverse wants to prove
me wrong.
Shadowstalker remains nervously quiet. A hint of Shadowstalker's
nervousness around Zaz shows through Anna by her left hand
playing with Anna's charm.

Hei: You also have to be careful traveling dimensions since you
don't want to end up in Malice's territory between dimensions.
I've heard it's almost as bad as hell if you're not from there
or one of Malice's followers.
Zandrick takes the kit and nods in response to Clarice, ready to
do what has to be done.
Zaz: Well... There is my little sister Meli. But she's not an
Exile, so I don't think I could bring her here. He says in
response to Anna.
Donny looks to Anna. Donny: Wait... You haven't met Amber yet?
He says to Anna when she mentions an alternate daughter, which
actually there was an alternate daughter of hers in London with
the Crow Mercenaries. Considering how long she's been here, I'm
actually surprised you haven't seen her around at least.

Kialo looks to Hei with a look that says he's definitely heard
of Malice and the Void. Kialo: Oh that one I've already been
warned about. We also know of Malice and Saskia in our world
since the Draculesti family has a pact with Saskia. She's the
one responsible for their zombie creation abilities and a few
other monstrous abilities. Hell, Lucien beat Pop and Grandpa
pretty badly in a fight after the Draculesti made their deal.
Kialo's eyes almost glow red with hate as he remembers how bad
that battle was when they first fought the newly enhanced
Draculesti clan. Kialo then calms himself. Kialo: We even
discovered a planet that was corrupted by Malice and filled with
a race completely dedicated to him and Saskia. Then, to top it
all off, I lost one of my best friends to Malice's domain in a
transdimensional travel accident about a year ago. So your
warning is one we know all too well and every child is taught in
school.
Clarice pulls out the tourniquet and carefully ties it snuggly
around Alysa's arm. She then raises and lowers Alysa's arm a bit
which causes a vein to rise. Clarice turns back to Zandrick,
opens the kit, pulls out the wrapped alcohol wipe, and opens it.
Clarice: Looks like she has some very strong veins which helps
in this situation. She says more to herself as she wipe a small
area around the vein she plans to draw from. Clarice tosses the
wipe into a small biohazard waste container in her bag and then
grabs the wrapped needle and one of the empty rubber capped
vials. She unwraps the needle and carefully pierces the vein in
Alysa's prepared arm which makes the unconscious girl flinch a
little. Clarice then carefully attaches the empty vial to the
needle and it quickly begins to fill. Once full, she removes the
vial and hands it to Zandrick. Clarice: Next vial please, young
man. She had heard Zaz introduce himself, but Clarice was too
focused on finishing with Alysa to ask for Zandrick's name or
introduce herself. A patient's health has always come first when
it comes to Clarice.
Anna: Okay, so at least you have a sister. Nice to know. Then
the term Exiles sinks into her mind and reminds her of Exiles
Kendrix. Anna: You're an Exiles member like the alternate of
Donny's and my friend, Kendrix, and a guy named Jon Talban? Does
this mean that my alternate is an Exiles member too? Anna asks
with genuine curiosity to Zaz. Zaz would know the Exiles
universe Dr. Anna Shadow-Rowe (prior to her marriage to Exiles
Victor "Sabretooth" Creed) and her young son, Donny. Zaz would
also know that Exiles Anna also doesn't have a hollow side as
the corruption had been purified before Shadowstalker could form
by Dr. Alaister. Anna then looks to Donny. Anna: Amber?? No, I
haven't met Amber yet. Now I'm starting to wonder how many
alternate kids I have running around. She says with a sigh and
then takes another hit from her blunt. Anna: I guess I should be
glad that I'm not in Kindron's shoes with alternate kids trying
to kill me.
Shadowstalker remains quiet and nervous around Zaz while
listening and fidgeting with the charm around Anna's neck.

Hei: It sounds like you've had it rough... I only know the
basics, and while I do hear of some Darkfires gaining power that
lets them travel universes, I've never really seen any Darkfires
in this world who could do it. Kendrix can, only because of his
temporal and spacial distortion powers from the celestian power
he got. He explains.
Zandrick takes the full vial and hands Clarice one of the empty
ones.
Zaz: I've actually met a few versions of you and even of my
father in my travels. But my versions of my mother and father
specifically live back in my world. I was the only one from my
world to join the Exiles. We do have a version of you, but it's
not the same one as the one from my world, or even to you.
Donny: Oh, man! We gotta detour and have you meet Amber after
this! He says to Anna. You'll love her. Hollow Ma might even
take a liking to her too.

Kialo: We have technology to help with dimensional traveling
though my cousin, Liang, has the power of dimensional travel
thanks to being half Celestian. The rest of us use special
Atlantean dimensional pyramids or dimensional shift belts when
intentionally transdimensional traveling. He says to Hei with a
bit of a thoughtful look. Kialo: Unfortunately this was not a
planned transdimensional travel so the best Alysa and I have are
our emergency beacons, and something about the power levels
tells me that you guys probably don't have mystic pyramids. He
then shrugs and smiles a bit. Kialo: Oh well. I've been needing
a change of scenery and think I could handle being here for a
while.. plus give me time to think of how to apologize to mom
and pops about f*cking up. So what kind of excitement other do
ya have going on here? Any evil monsters? Transdimensional
invaders? Blood thirsty aliens?
Clarice takes the empty vial and carefully attaches it to the
needle. It fills quickly, and she removes it when full. Clarice
then hands it to Zandrick. Clarice: And the last one then I'll
need the cotton ball in the kit after that last one.
Alysa continues to rest peacefully as she turns her head to the
side.
Anna: Hmm... a version of me that's different than me or your
version of me. How different just curiously? Anna asks Zaz for a
moment and then looks to Donny. Anna: We can do that afterwards.
I wouldn't mind meeting more of my alternate kids as long as
they're not trying to kill me.
Shadowstalker calms a bit as she lets Anna's left hand to drop
away from her charm, but she still doesn't trust Zaz. She can
feel what Zaz has done to his hollow and that makes her very
nervous.

Hei: More than we can count... He says with a sigh. It seems
like we have more enemies than allies these days.
Zandrick gives takes the vial and gives her the last vial. After
doing so, he grabs the cotton ball.
Zaz: Well... That version of you became a doctor, and doesn't
have a hollow side. I don't know too much about her past, but I
guess at some point, her corruption got purified before it fully
set into your soul. Or something like that at least.

Kialo: So basically you guys could use a couple of extra hands
then? Kialo asks Hei with a hopeful smile. For Kialo, fighting
different enemies than the same old Draculesti family zombies
and monster, the Splugorth minions, and anti-supernatural
Coalition States of America would be a great change up and
hopefully teach him new techniques.
Clarice takes the last vial and carefully attaches it. Once
filled, she removes the vial and hands it to Zandrick. Clarice:
That will do it. I'll take the cotton ball now so we can get her
arm bandaged.
Alysa begins to stir a bit and lets out a small moan of someone
who has a headache but still doesn't open her eyes.
Anna: There's a version of me that is a doctor AND doesn't have
to deal with Shadowstalker. Well ain't she lucky. She then
thinks about something as she thinks about her alternate being a
doctor. She realizes that meant that a death wraith doctor who
was at least trained by someone like Dr. Keir Alaister had
helped her alternate. This realization kind of hurts as she had
met her world's Dr. Alaister at a point when it's too late for
him to safely remove Shadowstalker. Anna: Too bad I didn't meet
Dr. Alaister until after Shadowstalker developed, or I'd at
least be hollow free.
Shadowstalker lets out a sneering laugh in Anna's mind at her
thoughts of a Shadowstalker free life. Shadowstalker: "You'd be
dead or worse without me, Anna, and you know it. Look at what
I've done for you and what I've sacrificed so we stay alive.
Without me, you're nothing! Without me, you'd have nothing!
Without me, you wouldn't have your children! We lost our chance
to be safely separated when you turned my lover into a bloody
milkshake!" Shadowstalker's vehement telepathic words are
powerful enough for those with telepathic powers to hear for
themselves. The reference to Shadowstalker's lover is to dark
someone from Anna's past prior to meeting her friends: Clarice,
Danae, Raven, Agent M, and Laura. Shadowstalker: "Stop your
foolish thoughts of life without me before you try something
deadly again."

Hei: Always. Just know that we have enemies that are going to
scorch our world from space if given the chance... And we also
have enemies that are trying to unmake the universes. We also
have dark spirits running around. Death here may not mean just
death, but anyone who dies to something like a dark spirit or a
soul eater may suffer fates worse than death. The last thing we
want is to put others in danger like this, let alone with such
stakes. We risk dark spirits carrying people off to the Hell of
Souls, people's souls being taken by people like the Blackfires
who take souls, and even the possibility of just being unmade if
Galian has his way. He explains to Kailo. If Kailo knew much
about Xeles's realm, he may know the rumors about how dark
spirits take human souls there, and torture them in ways that
make hell seem tame. Because the Hell of Souls was more like a
farm where the dark spirits squeeze the souls of energy like
squeezing fruit constantly and some of the methods they use to
do so, it was often seen as a much more dangerous place than
hell. Not only because of what they do to souls, but also the
fact that one didn't have to be evil to be sent to the Hell of
Souls, as the dark spirits would take anyone they could to the
Hell of Souls, and eventually even attempt to twist souls into
dark spirits. And that's not to mention just straight up being
unmade being another fate if Galian had his way of unmaking the
universe (as being unmade would just mean ceasing to exist and
not even getting an afterlife. And lastly there was soul
devouring, which was a bad fate for anyone as souls eaten by
soul eaters were often unable to be retrieved and suffered tons
of trauma before the soul eaters usually die (though that's not
counting hollows who digest and destroy souls once absorbing all
the power from souls).
Kindron: I'd be happy to give you guys a crash course in what
we're facing if you decide to help, but I agree with Hei.
Honestly, I'd say the best thing is to get you guys home as soon
as possible. All the stuff we're facing, it is a lot. He says to
Kailo.
Zandrick takes the vial and hands Clarice the cotton ball.
Zaz listens to Anna talk. Zaz: Well... You're more like my
mother than the other one we know. My mother had her hollow
half, and she learned to coexist with her hollow. It was
difficult, but they eventually got to an understanding... My
sister Meli and her hollow were pretty understanding too.
Especially after training with Hei in our universe. I've also
met a few universe versions of Zandrick and Darkcaster as well.
He sighs. At times like this, I really miss Az... He says,
regretting that his hollow was suppressed.
Donny: You know... It's strange that I never developed a hollow
side. Why is that exactly? He says, now curious about why he
never did have a hollow.
Kendrix: That's a good question... I actually had hollow power
from your blood. Not much, and I did actually learn to turn it
into Fullbringer power. Been trying to find a good spirit user
to teach me how to control spirit energy more effectively, but
so far no one has been able to help me quite as well as I'd
like. I have no idea why you never developed it. He says to
Donny. He smiles, which was hard to see with his scarf covering
his mouth. Maybe your hollow just can't stand your voice... I'd
hide from you too if I could. He says jokingly to Donny.

Kialo listens to Hei and Kindron and then gives them a more
stubborn, almost insulted look, almost like Hei and Kindron
questioned Kialo's courage and honor. The look seems to show the
more royal raising that Kialo and Alysa have had. Kialo: Great
Grandpops Qrow always raised the family with multiple
guidelines. One of those guidelines is that a Darkfire always
help another Darkfire when enemies are strong. I'd be going
against the Darkfire Bushido code if I didn't help while Alysa
and I are stuck here regardless of the dangers. Kialo then
relaxes a bit and returns to his more carefree smile as he
reminds himself that he's not in his home universe. He now
realizes that these Darkfires may not have the same strict
family codes of honor as his family does. Kialo: Besides if I
had a dime for every time I faced soul stealing creatures that
wasn't Pops or a god of destruction out to destroy the world,
then I'd be a self-made millionaire. Kialo says in a more joking
manner. Kialo then looks to Kindron with a smile. Kialo: So with
that said, how about that crash course on the problems you guys
got?
Clarice: Thank you. Clarice says as she takes the cotton ball
from Zandrick and places it against Alysa's arm where the needle
is. She carefully pulls out the needle and then drops it into a
travel biohazard waste container in her medical bag. Clarice:
You can close the kit, young man. She says as she pulls out
bandage tape and begins to bandage Alysa's arm. Clarice: Perhaps
I should be less absent minded now the excitement is over and
introduce myself. I am Dr. Clarice Jekyll, and who might you be,
young man? She politely asks Zandrick as she remembers that she
hadn't actually introduced herself to those she doesn't know.
She speaks as she finishes wrapping Alysa's arm and looks to
Zandrick.
Alysa stirs fitfully a bit more and almost seems to be having a
bad dream.
Anna takes a hit of her blunt as she listens to Zaz, Donny, and
Kendrix and smiles while ignoring Shadowstalker. She then about
chokes on the smoke when Kendrix gets Donny with a joke and
starts laughing a bit. Anna: At least Donny isn't as mouthy as
Delsin, but as they say like father like son. She says as her
own joke little to play off Kendrix's joke. Anna: But more
seriously, I did have this talk with my doctor while I was
pregnant with Donny. Dr. Alaister said that there is always a
risk of the unborn child developing a hollow side. He also said
that it's actually not as common as one would think since
hollofication is an affliction of the soul and not genetics. His
theory on inherited hollofication is that some thing in the DNA
of the unborn allows for the hollow infection to bypass the
natural purity defense of innocent children, a soul defense
during a period of development referred to as the Age of
Innocence. Anna speaks with a more thoughtful look as she
recalls the conversations she has had with Dr. Alaister. So far,
all of my alternate children that I have met who have a hollow
side aren't children of Delsin, but of Keirran instead which in
many cases seem to also have a hollow side. Donny is a son of
Delsin Rowe who never had a hollow side regardless of how much
of my powers he did absorb. It's possible that Donny is so much
like his father that his own Age of Innocence period in the womb
protected him from hollofication like it normally would..
according to Dr. Alaister's theories.
Shadowstalker returns a quiet state as she realizes that she
isn't phasing Anna.

Kindron: Well, there's the Order of the Dragon that's trying to
take over the world that's led by an evil version of me. There's
a group called Nightshade, and another group called the Witches
of Salem that seem to be allied with Xeles and his allies. And
lastly, there's Galian and the The'Galin who are trying to
unmake the universes. And there's a few miscellaneous enemies
running around. He says, keeping the explanations simple to
start with.
Zandrick closes the kit. Zandrick: I'm Zandrick Darkfire. Nice
to meet you. He says politely to Clarice.
Zaz: Actually... I was told by an alternate soul reaper named
Mayuri Kurotsuchi that it's actually more common for hollow
power to be inherited and manifest as fullbringer power because
usually not as much of the power transfers over to children...
But there are cases where the hollow energy can jump from a
parent to a child before it's developed which is how children
like me seem to inherit a parent's hollow power in the cases of
strong enough hollow powers. A strong enough hollow can leave
stronger imprints on a child. At least, that's the way it was
explained to me. And that's assuming that it works the same way
in this universe as it does in some of the other universes I've
seen hollow alternates develop. He explains. Anna may recognize
the name Mayuri Kurotsuchi, who was a soul reaper who Toshiro
Hitsugaya (A friend of Kierran and Anna's) tried to analyze the
corruption after her corruption when the doctors tried to figure
out her corruption, but was unable to do anything about it.
Donny: You know... Now that you mention it... I haven't seen any
hollow power in any of ma's kids other than Zaz here. He says in
thought. So I guess that is something to consider. From what I
saw Amber doesn't have any hollow powers either, her craziness
just comes from her mass of souls she has in her.
