"You told me I couldn't kill you, but I'd like to try and prove
you wrong! So let's see, how many times is it gonna take?!" -
Roy Mustang as he used his flame alchemy to blow up an opponent
claiming to be immortal and kept blowing them up over and over
to run them out of the regenerative power.
"Life that has been lost cannot be brought back again. That very

Mustang training someone with a bad temper when he was purposely
making them angry to show them how anger effects fighting
ability.
"Congratulations... You're now a dog of the military." - Mustang
after handing a new recruit of the State Alchemist Division of
Mithril their pocket watch which signified their certification
with the State Alchemist Division.
A conversation with his close friend Maes Hughes when they went
after an opponent and a battle broke out, after Major Armstrong
and Mustang chased off the opponent.
Hughes: Comes out of hiding. Is it over?
Major Armstrong: Hughes! Where have you been?!
Hughes: I thought it best to lay low.
Mustang: You didn't think about MAYBE backing us up?!
Hughes: Of course not! A person like me shouldn't get dragged
into a freakshow with you pack of psuedo-humans! It's bad for my
health!
During a fight with a homunculus with shapeshifting abilities
that made her fingers extend and attack like spears.
Ally: Oh man... We're screwed! She's going to shred us with
those freaky fingers of hers!
Mustang: Smiles. No. She made a mistake... She flooded the
room... A simple transmutation and we have hydrogen gas! He says
getting ready to use his alchemy to set up an explosion.
After torching the homunculus Gluttony and blowing up the
opponent completely Mustang was driving with his allies, Hawkeye
and Alphonse.
Hawkeye: Think we can expect another appearance from that
blubber-beast back there?
Mustang: I doubt it... I scorched him off the ledge.
Hawkeye: Yeah... And I shot him in the head... But he didn't
really seem to mind.
Alphonse: He didn't have an Ouroboros tatoo, did he?
Hawkeye: A tatoo? Thinks. Well... Yeah... On his tongue.
Alphonse: In that case, you were probably dealing with a
homunculus...
Mustang: In surprise. Hold on a damn second! What are you
saying, Al? That's just not possible!
Alphonse: Yeah... That's what I thought... Until I got kidnapped
by one. I know for a fact they have amazing healing powers. I
saw one get the top part of his head knocked off and he
regenerated it just fine.
Mustang: Hold on... I rendered fat boy to a bubbling puddle back
there! Are you telling me he's still alive?!
Alphonse: Probably...
Mustang: Wonderful! Just a never-ending parade of freaks lately!
He says sarcastically.

Hunter Group/Team: Mithril State Alchemist Division (Group that
uses tech to replicate supernatural alchemy)
Weapons:
- Nanite Matter Converting Gloves/Ignition Cloth Glove: This is
the main source of Mustang's abilities, as he has no real
abilities on his own. His gloves are very special, designed by a
scientist who developed them for alchemy based on the matter
conversion abilities the replicators in London had long ago when
they were a threat. These gloves are able to use nanites to
convert materials using something akin to alchemic conversions,
changing substances through physical touch and using invisible
nanites to change matter. Once used, the nanites are released
from the gloves, and change based on whatever Mustang wants to
change it to, such as changing the oxygen density in the air,
changing water into hydrogen and oxygen, and or just changing
one metal into another. This is done solely through the nanites,
and the only feedback Mustang has to give is through the control
chip implanted in his brain that controls the nanites. The
nanites are focused most in the alchemic symbols on his glove,
and can even fix his glove if his glove gets cut or shredded.
His gloves are also made of a special material known as ignition
cloth, designed to spark when Mustang snaps his fingers. When he
uses his alchemy to change oxygen density in the air, he then
snaps and creates a spark which ignites a trail of oxygen
created by his nanites to where he wants his explosions to
happen, which then ignites the oxygen using the spark. Mustang
has 4 separate pairs of gloves, the first two he wears all the
time, then the second backup pair are always stored in the
pockets of his jacket. These gloves require power for the
nanites which charge similar to a battery outside of battle.
- Stilled Silver/Varanium Mixed Alloy Ring: This looks like a
simple ring on Mustang's finger, but is actually a combat tool
that he can use against supernaturals. This ring is designed to
affect his opponents which Mustang punches them, allowing him to
hit opponents and the contact with the ring usually temporarily
negates their powers and regeneration for a short time if
Mustang can land an attack. This ring is a simple mix of stilled
silver and varanium, being a silver ring with a black design on
it. Mustang wears one on each hand, so that his punches can
affect his opponents. Most supernatural opponents, unless
they're smart enough to observe and figure out what the ring is,
often times don't know Mustang is using a tool to negate their
powers and regeneration and often times thing he's just a
supernatural with ability negation, making him appear as an even
more dangerous foe. Though some smart enough opponents sometimes
do figure out that his rings are the cause. His rings are
designed with special nanites in the ring, which protect the
ring against magnetic users and earth users, manipulating the
ring if someone tries to take control of the metal in his rings.
This is done without Mustang's conscious mind, and is a passive
effect, making it immune to magnetic and earth manipulation as
long as the nanites have power to operate. And like his gloves,
if he runs out of power, he has to recharge the nanites like
batteries. This is something Mustang had developed solely for
himself, and doesn't really tell anyone other than his closest
friends, even keeping most of his superiors in the dark to keep
his opponents from figuring out how he does it. The only
superior who knows about the rings is General Kalinin, who
Mustang reports to directly.
- Lighter: This is a special lighter given to him by one of his
subordinates, which Mustang keeps as a backup in case he can't
use his gloves to create sparks. While the nanites still operate
alchemy when soaked with water, the glove doesn't create sparks
when wet, which normally would mean the end of his flame
alchemy. However, with this lighter, he often times can pull
this lighter out since it is a flip top lighter, and can use it
when he needs a spark, assuming the inside of the lighter
doesn't also get wet. This lighter is just a standard flick
lighter, which usually keeps the area that generates the flame
protected as long as it's closed, and unless it gets wet after
opening it up, is protected from getting wet. However, other
than it being used for flame alchemy, this lighter really
doesn't do anything special other than that, just being a
standard lighter with no special attributes.
- Standard Issue Berreta M9 Pistol with Special Ammo: This is a
standard M9 Berreta pistol issued by Mithril which most members
of Mithril always have on them. This gun is a pretty standard
gun, with exception of the special barrel which fires bullets
far faster than normal guns, as the guns are designed with a
special material that speeds up a bullet's travel out of the
chamber and boosts it's speed, very similar to the projectile
vampire power. And after dealing with Kagetane and Dark Lord
Hei, Mithril developed a special magnetic signature scrambler on
all their weapons, designed to be activated to run a slight
magnetic charge to scramble the magnetic frequency of the gun
and it's ammo so magnetic users cannot lock onto it to stop the
bullets. This makes the bullets travel far faster than normal
bullets and also hit harder, so that a pistol shot might more
easily do more damage than a normal pistol shot. In addition to
the special design, the bullets are also specially designed,
with Mithril's access to stilled silver and varanium, to utilize
both stilled silver and varanium. The tip of the bullet is
black, which made of varanium, and the bullet's casing has
stilled silver. As one might imagine, this ammo is designed
specially for supernatural hunting and for killing almost any
type of supernatural. These guns are designed for versatility
for hunting different types rather than having to load different
types of ammo for every race of creature. Though most mithril
members also carry blessed silver bullets and unholy gold
bullets just as a backup.
- Gene Cleansor Gun: Should a Mithril member ever face off
against a member of Ragnorok or someone who uses super soldier,
plasmites and other artificial means to gain powers, Mithril
members have a special gun which fires darts like bullets that
contain the gene cleansor formula, designed to purify those who
are artifically powered up. This also works on people changed
into mist monsters, turning them back into humans, though the
success of the formula hasn't been finalized as some still
revert back to mist monsters after their body fights off the
effects of the gene cleansor. This does also work temporarily on
any human based supernatural like werewolves and vampires,
though it only works temporarily. This ammo was designed
specifically for Ragnorok members and super soldiers who use
artificial means to gain powers. This essentially "cleans" the
DNA of any foreign element, in which forces out foreign elements
to human DNA. However, because each person's DNA is different,
this isn't always a permanent solution as some people have DNA
that changes back to it's original form after the immune system
finds a way to counter the gene cleansor. This is specifically
designed for those that aren't affected by stilled silver, as
only supernaturals who gain their powers through artifical means
like tech and serums are immune to it, which this gene cleansor
was designed to counter. Though there are more and more groups
developing counters to gene cleansors, one such example being
Lucille Xeno's gene protection formula made by her mother.
Flame Alchemy (through tech), Combat and Passive Skills:
- Nanite Alchemy (through his gloves): Mustang's special gloves
are designed to use alchemy which is controlled by nanites
converting materials, which is something that has been being
developed by a few scientists with limited success (as
scientists try not to accidentally create advanced nanites that
might try to take over or become another race of replicators
like the ones that plagued London long ago), in which items are
created for the State Alchemist division with these nanites to
generate different types of alchemy. Mustang's gloves use matter
conversion to replicate alchemy, allowing him to convert
materials and elements, similar to supernatural alchemists. The
nanites are invisible, and normally cannot be seen, which makes
Mustang's alchemy look supernatural in nature, but it is purely
done with his tech. In his brain, he has a control chip in his
brain which controls his nanites and tells them what materials
they should make or convert. This is fairly simple, with it
resulting in what appears to be alchemy. Though the nanites do
the conversions, to the naked eye, the nanites aren't actually
visible and most think it's supernatural alchemy. Of course,
only the nanites in his glove interacting with the environment
he touches can actually do this, as the nanites require physical
touch to an object to change it, unlike some supernatural
alchemy types which can be done with spell circles or
transmutation circles. Though without his gloves, Mustang cannot
use this alchemy, and once his nanites run out of power, Mustang
has to recharge them much like recharging a battery. Mustang
also cannot create matter from nothing and can only convert
matter, with equivalent exchange laws of normal alchemy still
being something he has to follow.
- Flame Alchemy: This was based on the dragon snap technique,
where the person who developed this type of alchemy essentially
replicated this through the nanite alchemy. This alchemy is a
type of alchemy that Mustang specializes in, which is based
around explosions and earned him his nickname "Flame Alchemist".
This alchemy changes the oxygen in the air using the nanite
alchemy, and increases the oxygen to create a trail to a large
pocket of oxygen similar to how a supernatural would use the
dragon snap. After manipulating the oxygen in the air, Mustang
snaps his finger using his gloves to create a spark, which then
ignites the oxygen until it reaches the pocket of oxygen and
creates an explosion. Thanks to his implants and training with
his original teacher of Flame Alchemy, Mustang learned to use
pinpoint accuracy, able to hit the areas he wants without
hitting something he doesn't want to hit, such as igniting
someone who is using a hostage without hurting the hostage. He
can also control the size of the explosions based on how much he
manipulates the air, creating small explosions or larger
explosions, though the larger the explosion, the more energy the
nanites use. The other downside is that without a spark, he
cannot use this, which means that if his gloves are soaked in
water, they can't make a spark, resulting in Mustang not being
able to use his flame alchemy and spawning a joke about how he's
useless in the rain. Though with his lighter, he tends to get
around that problem to an extent.
- Alchemic Projectile Conversion: Using his gloves, Mustang is
able to catch supernatural projectile attacks with physical
touch, and convert them using his nanites alchemy. This is
useful for converting energy and elemental attacks, assuming
it's a type of power he can hold in his hand. This lets him
convert and possibly turn the attack back on his opponent,
depending on what he changes it into. For example, he could turn
a ball of mana into chi or chakra and fire it back at an
opponent, or freeze a fire attack if he can hold it. However,
this only applies to attacks he can grab or catch, since he
requires being in physical contact with whatever he's
converting. This means that powers and projectiles that are
designed for piercing are much harder to catch, requiring him to
catch them from the side rather than trying to stop their
momentum. Some attacks he can't catch at all, like lightning
which is often dispersed when it hits something and would
electrocute Mustang before he could convert it. Mustang is very
skilled at doing this, but depending on the attack, this isn't
always usable on every type of projectile attack.
- Medical Alchemy: Using the alchemy-like system of the nanites,
Dr. Ciel helped Mithril's State Alchemist division develop their
nanites that convert materials, adding a function which was
meant to replicate medical alchemy. This uses nanites to rebond
cells and and uses alchemy to heal someone of their injuries.
This is done similar to other medical alchemy, requiring not
just the right program in the nanites, but also knowledge of
mortal bodies and how to fix them. This lets the user use their
nanites to heal others, healing injuries and even being able to
use this to heal their own injuries. This is a very simple
upgrade to the alchemy nanites used by the State Alchemist
Division, which gives them more options to treat those who are
injured. However, while this does let them use these nanites to
heal injuries, it still cannot create matter from nothing, and
this means that it cannot recreate limbs or missing body parts.
This is more for rebonding the body from damage, and not able to
replace parts that are severed or removed.
- Mithril Combat CQC and Special Combat Training: This is a
standard military fighting style which uses close quarters
combat and weapon combat. This style is a basic military combat
style which utilizes quick foot work, a strong defense, and
special combat striking techniques that are designed to hit an
opponent's vitals. This style is designed to be adaptable for
anyone's style, designed to be modified for speed, power or
defense based on the individual's fighting style. This is the
main style taught in Mithril, and teaches users of the style to
not only fight opponents, but also how to do things like disarm
opponents, dodge attacks and get behind opponents, and take
advantage of weakspots in a person's defense. Depending on the
individual, this can be more strength oriented, speed oriented,
defense oriented or balanced between stats depending on how the
individual wants to train. Masters of this style are dangerous
close combat fighters, because unlike other styles, which are
meant for self defense, this style is meant for killing
opponents rather than knocking them out. Though individuals can
vary this style to make it a non-lethal style, which many
trainers specifically have to do to avoid killing their
students, and most learn the non-lethal variation first so they
don't kill people during training. Mustang is a master and a
teacher of this fighting style, being able to fight on par with
many supernaturals, trained to the peak of human ability.
- Mithril Supernatural Hunter Training: Exorcism, Weakness and
Trap Knowledge: Mustang is trained in Mithril supernatural
hunting, being trained in how to do things like exorcise demons
and angels, use supernatural trap spells and markings, and
knowing as much as he can about supernaturals in general.
Mustang is fully trained in everything supernatural, from
vampires and werewolves to angels and demons and even some
alternate dimension creatures. Mustang is highly trained in
Mithril tactics, knowing a lot about supernaturals from species
to sub-species, to even strengths and weaknesses of each race
and sub race of power creatures. Mustang has trained heavily in
this art, and knows how to take advantage of weaknesses, but
also knowing strengths of certain types of opponents that he
needs to avoid or find a way around. Though Mustang doesn't know
everything about every race type, he has studied a lot of
different races in his time in Mithril, which has had a lot of
time to perfect their supernatural hunting skills.
- Mithril Supernatural Hunter and Military Training: Tracking
and Hunting Expert: With his supernatural hunter training,
Mustang was also taught how to hunt and track opponents, which
is something he also gained from his military training. He is
able to do very subtle things, like tell whether a foot print is
his target or not by things like the shape of the boot and how
deep the boot-print is, as well as also being able to tell where
his opponents go thanks to things like walking on plants, and
animals that are unusually silent in one direction. He has a
sense of when opponents are near, as well as usually knowing
which way his opponent is going by signs of their presence
around them. Mustang is just as good at tracking as any
supernatural hunter, having trained both in supernatural hunting
and military tracking as well. Though this is a lot harder in a
condensed town like DC City, and is much harder to figure out
how to track supernaturals in such a highly packed city with so
many people around, which was made worse when many people in the
neutral zones between Black Sun and Ragnorok territory were run
out of their homes when Khan and Kendrix restarted the Black
Sun/Ragnorok war.
- Master Torture and Interrogation Expert: During his years in
the unit Mithril and all the missions he's done, Mustang ended
up having to learn how to interrogate thanks to missions with
captured supernaturals and other captured people that were hard
to break. Over time, Mustang became a master interrogator,
learning how people work and learning how to read people to find
out the best ways to interrogate or torture them. He has gotten
good at knowing how to torture some enemies (even if he doesn't
really enjoy it), and usually knows how to get under their skin
through words as well as torture, usually depending on the
person he's interrogating. Mustang tends to use whatever
strategy works best for certain scenarios, such as using force
against tougher supernaturals or opponents, or reasoning with
people who seem scared of him. He is great at playing games of
intimidation and manipulation, and his training has left him
with a knack for figuring out his opponents.
- Human Training Enhanced Recovery: After all of his combat
training and training his durability, Mustang heals from
injuries much faster than a normal human, thanks to his constant
combat training and constant supernatural hunting. Mustang is
able to heal from injuries much faster than normal humans, with
cuts and bruises healing usually within 6 hours. This was done
simply by training heavily in combat, and building his
durability through combat training. This is not supernatural
regeneration, and can't regenerate things like severed limbs, or
fatal injuries, but Mustang can heal from simple injuries very
quickly. This is purely trained from his combat training, and is
just his human body trained to it's peak performance.
- Human Immunity to Stilled Silver and Power Negation: Humans
who don't have supernatural abilities are not affected by power
negation or regeneration negation since they don't have such
abilities to negate. Humans who don't have supernatural
abilities don't have any negatable abilities, and the State
Alchemist Division of Mithril is no different. Those of the
State Alchemist Division may seem like supernaturals, but all of
their alchemy is done through nano-tech, and is not a
supernatural ability that is negatable. However, this only
applies to normal humans, as any supernatural opponent still has
to worry about power negation since humans with supernatural
abilities can still have their abilities negated, though this
isn't a problem since Mithril usually only takes mostly humans
with no supernatural abilities, opting to use tech and serum
enhancements rather than supernatural abilities. Though many are
allowed supernatural weapons as long as they don't turn
themselves into supernaturals, the State Alchemist Division of
Mithril is all tech, and as such, don't have the weakness to
stilled silver and varanium.
- Psychic Block Training/Control Chip Protection: Thanks to the
chip that controls the State Alchemists Division's alchemy, this
was also modified to grant psychic protection to the minds of
those it's installed in, designed to protect the mind of the
opponent from supernatural invasion. This chip is combined with
extreme mental discipline training among Mithril soldiers,
designed to protect their minds from being controlled by those
with psychic abilities, and granting them immunity to mind
control and other psychic influences that try to affect the
mind. Though this doesn't protect against everything, such as
nerve disabling, this does protect them against almost all
manners of mind manipulation. However, there are ways around
this, such as taking control of one's neural linker (if they
have one) or if one manages to take control of the alchemist
control chip in the person's brain that controls the alchemist
nanites. However, due to advanced anti-hack and anti-virus
software being highly upgraded due to incidents like the Zero
Virus, Sigma Virus and Nightmare Virus, the anti-hack software
is extremely good and blocks out almost all control attempts.
- Mithril Military Combat Training Enhanced Physical Stats:
While Mustang is fully human, he is trained to the very peak of
human ability, being able to compete with many supernaturals,
even being able to appear to vanish from view with high speed
stepping maneuvers, usually up close to get around opponents to
their backside. Mustang is also as strong as a human can be,
being able to keep up with the strength of supernaturals and
super soldiers with his intense physical training. Mustang may
not seem like much at times, but he is a very skilled opponent
and, for a human, he's a very dangerous fighter even to
supernatural opponents. While not able to keep up with higher
level strength and speed, he is able to use his intelligence in
a fight as well as utilizing his physical stats to their fullest
to even compete with some stronger or faster than him through
strategy and utilizing his combat abilities to their fullest.
While Mustang isn't a supernatural, he is known for his combat
ability and often times being able to keep up with many
supernaturals despite being human.
Transformations:
- None
Weaknesses:
- Without his gloves to use his alchemy, Mustang is just a
highly trained human, and is able to be killed like any other
human. Aside from his alchemy, he has no real way to counter
supernatural abilities other than just dodging and using his
environment to his advantage. However, at the end of the day,
Mustang is still just a human, and can be killed just like any
human can. Even among the State Alchemist Division of Mithril,
the alchemists are still just humans with no supernatural
abilities and just well equipped. This means that Mustang can be
affected by anything a normal human could be affected by,
including things like poisons, elements, or just supernatural
attack powers.
- There are certain laws that alchemy must follow, that not even
technology can overcome. The first is equivalent exchange. This
is a simple law every alchemist learns first, in which they
can't create from nothing, and cannot destroy matter completely,
as matter cannot be destroyed or created, only converted. This
is the most basic law among all alchemists, and no tech or
supernatural alchemy is able to ignore this law. Even
philosopher's stones (which are rumored to ignore this law),
still use their own energy to convert matter, even if it has a
bit more range and can use it's energy to convert it's energy
into matter. No alchemist can ever get around this, as it's a
law of the very world and not something that can be broken by
any alchemist.
- The second law is that alchemy cannot be used to convert
inorganic into organic material. While there are fields of
organic alchemy research, such as chimera making (mixing DNAs
together to create new creatures), it is a taboo among
alchemists and a law that an alchemist cannot use alchemy to
create life from something non-living. This rule is a bit more
breakable than the first law, as it is possible to create
plantlife with certain types of alchemy, and using supernatural
alchemy can actually use certain alchemy types that specialize
in living alchemy, but alchemists still consider it a taboo to
dabble in what they call "human transmutation" which is the act
of trying to create a mortal being or bring someone back from
the dead. This is the biggest taboo among alchemists, and
punished heavily among alchemists, including being enforced as a
law among the State Alchemist Division.
- The third law is more of an ethical law, rather than a law
that can't be broken by alchemists. The last law is not creating
valuable substances like gold or money from materials. This is
designed to prevent alchemists from shattering the economy with
false gold or money created through alchemy. This is a law that
is closely monitored by the State Alchemist Division and
punished heavily if someone is caught doing this. Since the
State Alchemist Division has people who monitor things like
finances of their alchemists, they watch for any sudden
unexplained incomes that don't have any logical reason, and will
not hesitate to arrest the alchemist if they discover the
alchemist is making their own money. This law is easily
breakable by any alchemist, but if caught doing so, they are
arrested and sent to prison if the alchemist is found guilty of
doing so.
- Mustang's flame alchemy is his own unique type of alchemy,
which still has it's weaknesses. Much like the dragon snap
technique, one simply has to displace the air around them to
displace the oxygen in the air needed for this technique through
something as simple as a powerful sword slash or physical
attack, which can throw off the technique's accuracy, or stop
the attack entirely depending on how displaced the air is.
Another good technique for shutting down Mustang's flame alchemy
is to soak his gloves in water, in which he cannot create sparks
as long as his ignition cloth is wet. While his alchemy can be
used to dispel the water with concentration, this could take a
short while, and require Mustang to fight using other means if
he doesn't have the time to concentrate on dispelling the water
soaked into his gloves. While this doesn't stop his alchemy
completely, it does stop his flame alchemy. This means that the
best time to fight Mustang is on a rainy day when he can't get
create sparks. This is why he has a lighter, which he can use
under the right conditions, but can't always use it unless he
can protect the flint from getting wet. And due to the artifical
weather generators in the city, one can easily predict what the
weather will be since it is broadcasted a week in advance and
controlled by the government.
- Those who watch Mustang's flame alchemy will often notice that
he snaps his fingers together before an explosion is created
with his alchemy, in which opponents can wait for the right
moment when he snaps his fingers to dodge and can't change the
spot of his flame alchemy's explosion. And those that are blind
can still hear Mustang's finger snap, as when he snaps his
fingers together, it is much louder than a normal snap, as it's
not just his fingers snapping, but the speed at which the highly
concentrated gases and sparks react together and runs together
with Mustang's finger snap, making it sound like his fingers
snapping much louder than normal. This is yet another way to
tell when he's using his flame alchemy, as it's another form of
telegraphing his attacks since faster reacting opponents can
react to the snap upon hearing it and still avoid his flames.
Opponents who study his alchemy can easily figure out how this
alchemy works, and if they figure out the process, it's easily
dodgable and a bit more predictable.
Personality: Mustang is a pretty confident military officer, and
usually has a pretty good outlook on things. Though he can get a
bit one-sided with his work, thinking about his job before
anything, he is still a pretty good person who will help anyone
he can, and does whatever he can for his close friends and those
he considers family. Though Mustang is a smartass most of the
time, and often smarts off to anyone, even sometimes being a
smartass to his superiors, which can sometimes get him into
trouble. Mustang also tends to be a bit of a flirt at times
around women. Mustang also tends to be quite lazy at times, not
doing certain jobs himself, and leaving his subordinates to do a
job while he does something like nap in secret. Mustang is a
good person though, always willing to help others and does his
job as a military officer very well, though he has been known to
sidestep orders he doesn't like, and even hides certain facts
about his subordinates from his superiors if he thinks it's
better for the subordinate's safety. Mustang has even outright
disobeyed orders if he feels the orders aren't logical to a
situation, though he doesn't do so without good reason. In
battle, Mustang is a very tactical opponent, and a very smart
one at that. While he's not the smartest tactician alive, he's
very smart and is surprisingly more cunning than he lets on most
of the time. Mustang is an example of a person who is very
dangerous, but doesn't always seem serious unless the situation
calls for a more serious approach.
Bio: Orphaned at a young age, Roy was adopted by Chris Mustang,
his father's younger sister who would later go by Madam
Christmas, with her real identity being unknown to most of the
world. She would raise Roy, until he became a teenager and
eventually discovered the alchemy developed by an old man named
Berthold Hawkeye. Berthold's specialty was flame alchemy, which
he taught to Mustang after Mustang managed to have Berthold
develop Mustang's alchemy gloves specially to use flame alchemy.
Mustang would go on to learn Berthold's flame alchemy, until the
day that Berthold died of old age. During his time training with
Berthold, he befriended Riza Hawkeye, Berthold's daughter. The
two were good friends, and eventually the two joined Mithril
together.
During his time in basic training, he also met the man who would
become one of his best friends, Maes Hughes, and worked with
them as the three of them slowly climbed the ranks, supporting
Mustang on his goal to try and become the new leader of DC City,
hoping to try and fix the relations between supernaturals and
humans, and end the wars plaguing the city. Mustang became a
part of the State Alchemist Division thanks to the special
division of Mithril being dedicated to the increasing number of
humans with nanite alchemy tech. Since all State Alchemist
Division certified members start with the rank of Major, Mustang
had a great start to his military career, in which he soon
quickly climbed the ranks after he started taking out threats to
Mithril and became known as the "Flame Alchemist". Now, he
continues to work with Mithril, and after orders to help C-Sec
with the growing supernatural threats and the coming war between
the Lich Queen and Dark Lord Hei, Mithril and C-Sec started
collaberating their forces. Even though Sousuke doesn't outrank
Mustang, Mustang offered to work under Sousuke's command, simply
because he figured he wouldn't have to work as hard, though
plans to offer help in helping Sousuke and Phoebe keep things
organized, including calling his friends Riza Hawkeye and Maes
Hughes to help as well, with Hughes helping organize and control
the paperwork, and Hawkeye helping train the C-sec personnel to
shoot better and help train C-Sec to use different types of
guns, since she's an expert in weapons.
