Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Goten's Quest

Goten Uchiha here. I'm making another report during my quest to
find Knull and his companions. I did confirm the deaths of
Viknyn and his group at the hands of the death wraiths not long
ago (They were the group Knull was traveling with to the
Lightverse for those that don't know)... But for some reason, I
was asked to make this report so people in the Lightverse could
read it. For those in the Lightverse, that's what we call
Toranoraos's multiverse because we literally don't have light in
our multiverse, which is why you people call it the "Dark
Multiverse." Well, unless you count blacklight, which is the
energy given off by our sun which makes life in our world
possible. People often wonder what our multiverse is like, and
how we become so strong in our powers. Well, the answer to that
is pretty simple... Gaia and Gale have been working together
since the day mortals were invented to snuff us out. Everything
in our multiverse has been raised by Gaia and Gale to kill us
mortals. Our multiverse gets a bad reputation, but it's home for
us and we get used to it. And I'd argue it makes us far stronger
than the Lightverse people because we have to survive a lot of
things Lightverse people can't imagine. Of course, I won't deny
it's a hard place to live. The fact I was born weak because of
sickness was basically a death sentence for me in about 90
different ways, but I fought to get as strong as I could and
eventually overcame it.
Now, I know you have a few questions. First, who are Gaia and
Gale? Well, those are the two major spirits of the world, the
first names to know if you want to survive in our multiverse.
Gaia controls the earth below our feet and guides the animals,
plants, and other creatures in our world. Gaia is like the
spirit of the earth itself, and she dictates how the earth and
the creatures therein try to murder us mortals. Meanwhile, Gale
is like the spirit of the wind that guides the gases and liquids
in our world. Gale dictates the air and how potent it is. He
also makes things like liquid, water and moisture from gases in
order to allow our world life. Now, I can sorta guess what some
people might think: "If Gaia and Gale want you dead, they can
kill you easily. Gaia can just open up the earth and swallow
you, while Gale can just make the air poison enough to kill
you." And... Well, you're right. And they do just that. Gale is
hard to avoid, so mortals had to evolve to basically be able to
breathe any gas, no matter how poisonous. We can breathe in
almost anything Gale has to throw at us, and we can even breathe
in water (IF you survive how it melts our skin right off our
bones, but some people have a natural talent to survive in
water, which allows them to use water to their advantage). The
only gas or liquid thing we can't breathe in is acid, because
that doesn't just melt everyone down, and absorb matter to
multiply its cells, it melts our souls too if our souls are
dipped in our multiverse's acid (it's even rarer to see someone
immune to acid because it doesn't just melt down people, it
melts down creations of Gaia and even spirits too). The only
reason Gaia doesn't constantly open up the ground is because we
mortals learned to suppress our presence, and we can use Gaia's
possessions because we evolved to hide our presence and hide
every aspect of our lives that would give us away. That's why
Gaia had to resort to using plants, animals and other creatures
to hunt us down and murder us.
In our multiverse, our survival always about precision of our
body's movements and uses, while knowing what threats to fight
and which to avoid. You see, we mortals evolved specifically to
hide from Gaia and survive Gale because we had to in order to
continue, you know, living. For example, solid objects of Gaia
in our multiverse vibrate constantly, though you'd never notice
it. Every object in our multiverse does this, whether it's dirt,
concrete or even our very clothes. You see, Lightverse people
have it nice, because you guys use clothes just to cover
yourselves and protect yourselves. We only developed clothes and
wear them to hide from Gaia, and help us control our movement.
Our clothes make Gaia think we're part of it, and because of
that, it's part of the reason why Gaia doesn't constantly just
open the ground and devour us. We also learn to suppress our
presence, from our aura to even the sounds we make when we move.
We keep our energy contained in our body (which can be very
painful to store energy in your body for long periods of time
because we do have to let that energy out eventually, and
there's not a lot of safe places to let our energy out in our
multiverse), and we also learn to move with absolute precision
with Gaia's creations so that the objects don't basically end
us. You see, solid objects vibrate and can split open any living
thing they're in contact with due to the intense waves the
vibrations give off if the solid objects get agitated by
movement. You want an example of this? In the Lightverse, you
guys have beds right? Well, if we move too much when sleeping in
bed, our beds moving because of our movements make sure we don't
wake up again because moving too much in bed under a blanket can
leave you a bloody mess once the bedsand blankets react to your
movement. The solid objects vibrate and basically they split
open any living thing in contact with them, which is why all
living things (including Gaia's creatures) had to learn to adapt
to that vibration and learn to control our movements. We have to
subconsciously control ourselves all the time, and that even
means controlling spasms or it could mean the end of us. Even a
muscle spasm could cause us to be murdered by our own clothes.
For me, that's actually really hard. You see, my illness messed
me up and caused some permanent damage to me. One of those
damages to me is that I actually spasm randomly. Usually nerves
in my limbs cause spasms, and I am lucky I'm even still alive
with some of the muscle spasms I've had. Also, in our
multiverse, you can't even breathe too hard or the air will
explode in your lungs, turning your chest into a busted balloon
in the best case (which has to do with the properties of the air
in our multiverse). And because of my illness, I hyperventilate.
It's because my ability to process air is difficult because of
damage my illness did to my lungs. So sometimes I will
hyperventilate when I need more air. That's basically a death
sentence in our multiverse if you have to hyperventilate because
you can't control the air coming into your lungs. If you
hyperventilate even once, only the lucky ones survive that, and
it's only by trying to suppress their hyperventilation that they
have any hope of even surviving it.. Lucky for me, Kindron (my
teacher) taught me to control my body using the Darkfire
Disciplined Mind art, and so I can handle controlling my urge to
breathe heavy. And the sad thing is that's not even the most
terrible thing about my life, so that alone should tell you how
fortunate I am to even be alive. Some would say I should live in
a better world, but in the Dark Multiverse, this is home for us,
and all our worlds are like this. Gaia and Gale exist in all our
worlds, sorta like your gods exist in your world. We have gods
too, but they're also trying to murder us because they follow
the will of Gaia and Gale.
Now for the next question I know I'll get asked: "You talk about
mortals, but what about supernaturals? Are they better equipped
to handle the world?" I actually don't really know how to answer
this. You see, you lightverse people differentiate those with
special abilities and those without. You say humans are those
without powers and supernaturals are those with powers, which is
weird to us and isn't how we define people in our world. In our
worlds, there is no distinction between "supernaturals" and
mortals because there are no people without abilities. I mean,
sure, angels and demons are different races entirely, but almost
every "supernatural" creature is human at their base, something
you Lightverse people always forget. Everyone in our multiverse
has at least some abilities, because without abilities, we'd
have died out as a species. So every person has some set of
abilities that we often use to fight when we need to defend
ourselves from Gaia's creatures or from the deities. For
example, mana users can use mana to attack creatures of Gaia
more easily and use the raw energy to their advantage. Ki users
can use ki defense to protect themselves and focus their energy
through training. I'm a chakra user, which lets me sneak around
to the point that I can much more easily avoid Gaia and Gale's
notice, which is, in my personal opinion, the best power to have
in a world where the world itself wants to murder you. Gods and
demonic entities are the only real distinction in race from
mortals because they are basically born of Lord Xeles himself
(And sometimes angels and demons since they are also different
species).
Different abilities can help in different ways, and we all have
abilities that we use for something. For me, I have my Sharingan
and my ninja skills. I also have my own unique state of being
called a "Bright State." You Lightverse people call it a divine
state, but we don't use those words because the gods will strike
us down if they hear that word used to describe mortals. For us,
a Bright State is a unique-to-everyone state that grants far
more power than normal states of being that is usually gained
through training and tapping deep into your potential. However,
can you guess why it's called a Bright State? It's because,
while it makes is strong enough to fight a lot of the things in
our world, it also lights us up like a beacon to Gaia who can
sense anyone in a bright state since we cannot suppress our
energies when in bright states. If we use it, we're basically
asking to die. So we have to suppress it when we're not using
our bright state to defend ourselves, and using it at all could
mean our death if we're not careful. My Bright State, I've heard
it called Jinsuina or Silver Chakra in the Lightverse among dark
spirits. But for me, it's just a state that makes Gaia and Gale
know where to find me. However, the state IS quite useful
because I can instinctively move to avoid and attack Gaia and
Gale, as well as any threat to me. If I combine it with my
Sharingan, it lets me even control living servants of Gaia and
lets me manipulate Gale's creations to a degree as well (though
I do this anyway with my wind chakra). However, manipulating
Gaia and Gale's creations... Well, you will get tired of me
saying this, but its a death sentence. Gaia and Gale do NOT like
being controlled, and that's why Gale made a deal with some
mortals and had them exterminate my clan in exchange for not
being attacked by Gale because Gaia and Gale do not like what
the Sharingan can do. You want the most surefire way to **** off
Gaia and Gale? Well, controlling their servants is that one
surefire method that never fails to **** them off. And
considering they're always trying to murder us anyway, you can
guess how bad that is. So as you might imagine, I can't use my
Bright State or my Sharingan unless I'm willing to fight off the
entirety of what Gale and Gaia might want to send after me
because they won't rest till my entire clan is swallowed by Gaia
or torn apart by Gale. It sucks having powers I can't really use
all the time, but I do use them in desperate situations. I'm
also still learning how to use those powers, so I haven't even
mastered them yet and they're like Gaia/Gale magnets.
Anyway, now that that's out of the way and you know some of the
basics... My report today was when I went to the sage realms. My
day started like any other day. I got out of bed, and checked my
room to make sure nothing was out of place. Nothing about normal
life is relaxing, because when things are quiet, you may not
even realize that creatures of Gaia could be watching you and
you also have to be careful because homes and buildings are
still Gaia, so if we're not careful, Gaia might learn we're
using Gaia to hide from her (It's confusing to you Lightverse
people I know... You guys probably wonder how Gaia never finds
us literally right under her nose). So I looked around and made
sure nothing was around, and nothing in my place was vibrating
weirdly (which can be a sign of Gaia or Gale checking objects).
Oh right. That's another thing. If Gaia expects an object is a
human, Gaia and Gale will try to vibrate that object to
basically cause a violent reaction. Let's say it's clothes, Gaia
could vibrate the clothes, and burst us open like watermelons.
Gaia is smart enough to realize we're using her creations to
hide from her, but we've evolved as a species to avoid all of
Gaia's senses so unless she knows where we are, she can't snipe
things on our person to murder us. We move carefully that we
fool Gaia into not being able to pick up our movement, which is
why Gaia doesn't attack us using our clothes or buildings (but
she can if she knows that's where we are). Trust me, building
cities in our multiverse was not easy, and took us centuries
longer than you Lightverse people due to having to avoid Gaia
and Gale.
Anyway, I also had to check and make sure the time we call
Blacklight was done. You Lightverse people call it day when your
sun is out, but we call it Blacklight time because that's the
time when Blacklight rains down on our world, which is basically
an energy that heats up our world and makes life possible. We
have to hide from it because seeing it can burn our eyes out,
and if we are hit by blacklight, our bodies are burnt to a
crisp. You see, Blacklight is dangerous to us mortals, so we
cannot be out in it (but Gaia's creatures can). But Blacklight
is necessary for our world, because the heat from Blacklight
brings life in our world through heat because it keeps our world
from freezing, and nurtures life our spirits need to live.
Blacklight is death to us, but life to the world itself.
Though... The normal time of day we go out after Blacklight is
cold because we can't go out in the Blacklight time. But luckily
we adapted to extreme cold because we could only go out outside
of Blacklight hours. You might wonder why we can't just adapt to
Blacklight. The simple answer is that Blacklight is something
that we can't adapt to. It's heat just burns us, and anyone
who's tried has died. Unlike the lightverse, there are NO
Blacklight immunities or Blacklight manipulation the way you
Lightverse people have light manipulation and other things.
Hell, I'm pretty sure Blacklight could burn you Lightverse
people to a crisp too. We can't adapt to that because Blacklight
is probably the only thing in our world we just can't ever
survive because only a little exposure could completely
evaporate any of us that are exposed. I watched someone stick
out their arm into Blacklight trying to see how dangerous it
was, and it was evaporated within 3 seconds.
Fun fact though: In our multiverse, a popular method of
execution for enemies in a lot of cultures is "Death by
Blacklight." They literally get tied to something outside, and
then when Blacklight comes, they are burnt to a crisp over the
course of 15 seconds, and some say that is the most painful 15
seconds you can ever experience as mortals which is why some
believe that's why it doesn't take less time to burn people down
to their bones. You could try and free yourself from the
bindings since the people who tie you there don't stay when
Blacklight comes (for obvious not wanting to die type reasons),
but most people cannot escape bindings without losing whatever
part of them is bound. For example, have a rope around your
hands? You Lightverse people would just cut it or struggle out
of it. For us, if we struggle or move too much, we'd only free
ourselves of having hands at all, and that is a death sentence
on another level. Bindings are pretty darn effective in our
universe because if you struggle, it's bad news since you
basically can't break free the same way you Lightverse people
would be able to with your kinds of bindings. So people will tie
people by the chest and legs to something outside, and then
leave them out to burn alive in Blacklight. It's usually a
choice... Wait for Blacklight to burn you alive, or struggle and
let the bindings kill you.
Anyway, I put on my clothes carefully, and grabbed my equipment
(also carefully). As I mentioned earlier, clothes are necessary,
and my equipment was necessary to use if I ran into any
creatures of Gaia while I was out. Luckilly, I stored a few
spirits to eat, and I had a few burgers left over. Now, I hear
that the Lightverse people don't eat spirits as their primary
source of food, but we do. In our multiverse, that's normal. We
feed on spirits, and they basically give us the energy we need
when we eat them. We can eat souls, but most of us don't since
all us mortals are usually just trying to survive (though the
most ruthless of mortals will not hesitate to eat mortal souls
for power, and those are the ones that you Lightverse people
always hear about). We also eat some creatures of Gaia because
their flesh grants us strength and refreshment in energy. It
also helps us blend in with Gaia since Gaia can sense the
creatures flesh in us and think we're Gaia's servants. The fact
that we as a species can live right under Gaia's nose is pretty
impressive, and as a species, we were lucky we were able to
adapt and hide from Gaia before she killed us all. There are
actually worlds in our multiverse where the world has no mortals
because Gaia and Gale actually succeeded in murdering mortals,
and all that's left are creations of Gaia and Gale. And things
like clothes and eating servants of Gaia make her sense us as
one of her servants. Gaia has so many servants that even she
can't keep track of all of them. Not only that, but towns and
cities we build help us hide using Gaia herself as cover. When
we started inhabiting much of our world, and our populations
grew, we had to find ways to counter Gaia and live with Gaia so
that we didn't all get murdered by her.
Anyway, after my very satisfying breakfast, I went outside,
carefully. I had to make sure that there were no animals nearby,
or else Gaia would come after me. Now, just because we can hide
among Gaia, doesn't mean animals and plants can't call us out to
Gaia. You people have animals that will kill you if you come
near them, and for us, that's what all animals are basically
designed to do, and even the small ones that can't hurt us are
designed to infiltrate areas and find people hiding away. As I
looked around, I knew there was no animals nearby, and none I
could sense... Only one problem. It was raining today. It wasn't
in the forecast, but it was definitely raining. Seems Gale is
pissed off at Gaia again... It's theorized that rain is the
result of Gale raining his anger on Gaia for her inability to
kill humans. Of course, it's also just like it is in the
Lightverse, where you can explain it much the same way using
weather systems and stuff, except that our weather systems are
more specifically designed to rain out living things. When it
rains, the water from the rain can melt the skin off your bones.
Luckily, creatures learned to adapt to rain so we don't take
damage from it as easily as normal water due to rain not just
being water, but other elements mixed in. Not only that, but due
to how cold it was after Blacklight, the heat was gone and the
area was freezing. I hear that water freezes at 32 degrees in
the Lightverse, and we laugh at that because our water freezes
at -29 degrees, and that's cold enough to turn any of us normal
people into popsicles. Our ice also freezes MUCH faster than
that of the Lightverse. An area can freeze over within minutes
of the temperature getting low enough. There are days we have
sometimes been frozen inside our homes because the ice hit us so
hard and fast. Luckily, I had a raincoat I put on over my other
clothes just in case (because usually we are prepared to get hit
with rain out of nowhere because of how moody Gaia and Gale can
be towards each other). It's a special material we call roel,
which we developed to block the effects of water. it's solid
matter, so it vibrates, and it can be dangerous in rain to wear,
but it doesn't vibrate as fast as most matter atoms do, so it
takes far more for it to go death mode on us. And of course,
with Gale's winds usually being a conscious effort on his part
to tear us in half, the winds were also pretty violent as usual.
Gale has no chill at all, so Gale is always got the winds going
as violently as he can to kill any creature not strong enough to
handle it. That's another part of our lives we're used to that
would scare you Lightverse people. Our winds are so strong, most
of you would be torn to pieces by how violent our winds are. We
learned to adapt to the air pressure, and we are able to survive
the high winds or even vacuums due to our bodies being stronger
as a result of our adaption to Gale.
Now, I should probably also explain another thing because I know
I will probably get asked about it. You may see me talk about
talking to others, or about communicating or listening. But we
don't do that the same way you Lightverse people do. As I
mentioned before, Gaia and Gale are always trying to kill us, so
we don't talk the same way you Lightverse people do. I mean, we
can, but we don't because if we did, Gale would bring all his
air down on us to push our bodies into the ground enough that
Gaia would know to open up and swallow us, or Gale would attack
us with his winds even more concentrated on us than they
normally would be. Not that we'd be able to hear each other
anyway over the strength of the air and winds since sound
doesn't travel. All you hear all day is a howl of wind and air
that feels like it's about to split your skull in two. No, what
we do is that we learn to speak in a frequency that is different
from sound waves. It's pretty much invisible to Gaia and Gale,
and not affected by their attempts to read sound and lets us
communicate. We "hear" these frequencies because our ears learn
to pick up these frequencies we speak. The only downside to
this, is that animals and other creatures learned to hear this
frequency because they evolve to use similar frequencies to
communicate with other creatures (for example, wolves use this
frequency to communicate with each other and with their dogs).
Because of that, we have to be careful when we talk to each
other. It's also why we tend to work alone more often than work
together, because if we work together we have to communicate
which could get us killed if the wrong creature hears our
communication. On top of that, telepathic communication is
dangerous because the gods actively listen for telepathic
communication, and they will rain death in many forms depending
on the deity if they hear telepathic communication. For example,
Zeus would strike lightning at the source of telepathic
communication, or Poseidon would strike spears of water down
from the sky on people.
So after carefully making my way to the gates to Tartarus by
passing into the realm of death through the River Styx, and
making my way past all the dead souls trying to fight Akriloth,
our guardian of the gate after Cerberus was murdered by the
Ender Beast with many of the Olympus gods, and after Cerberus's
first replacement, Knull, used to guard the gates. Akriloth is a
giant dragon that breathes flames, and fire dragons in our world
are very rare because Gale tried to literally murder them all
because their flames hurt Gaia too much. Our multiverse version
of fire burns by consuming objects like your Lightverse fire.
Only difference is those burned by it are scorched body and
soul, and every object in our multiverse is flammable. There is
no "This material doesn't melt" in our multiverse, and living
creatures are basically burned body and soul when they catch
fire. Wildfires are a big threat to us a species because entire
continents could burn down if they aren't contained, which is
why it's actually rare to see people trying to generate or
manipulate fire, because fires started can basically become a
big problem really fast. We're just lucky that Gaia hates fire
as much as we mortals do because fire hurts Gaia more than us,
so Gale usually creates vacuums around fires to put them out to
protect Gaia. For souls, they can be burnt to the point that
they can be rendered to a ball of molten spirit energy until
they recover (luckily, souls cannot be destroyed by fire, but it
does hurt them like you wouldn't believe). There's other aspects
to fire to note, but I won't get into those now. Anyway, I had
to go into the crushing space (as I like to call it). In our
worlds, there's this space between life and death. When you die,
that's where you go to escape the reapers where you can try to
get into the afterlife. Basically, it's a space with so much
gravity it crushes your soul and is designed to keep souls from
reaching the afterlife by the gods. Living creatures aren't
affected by it though they can't get to this area usually unless
they know how to get there and can get by the guardians of the
afterlife to do so. Whenever I go to Tartarus, I have to go
through the souls fighting to get in. Luckily, I don't have to
fight Akriloth though to get into Tartarus, so there's that...
As I got by the souls, I look to Akriloth and wave. Me: Hey,
flame breath... I said to him as I walk by. Flame breath is what
I call him.
Akriloth: Goten... He says in greeting as I walked by him and
into the gates. Like I said, I don't have to fight him, which
I'm hoping will be the case when I die too. I walked through
Tartarus till I got to the throne room. There isn't much to
really say about Tartarus. We don't torture souls here in the
traditional sense like the Lightverse Tartarus. Souls that come
here basically live here free from anything that might try to
kill them, but because Tartarus doesn't have spirits in it, the
souls have nothing to eat, and usually they get weak without
being able to feed as a punishment for not being strong enough
to make it into the good afterlives. Sure you can live in
Tartarus without Gaia and Gale trying to destroy your soul or
the reapers, collectors or dark spirits trying to eat your soul,
but you don't get to eat anything, and your soul gets pretty
weak to the point that most souls just lay around all day unable
to do much since they have little energy. But it's better than
living in the living world, or living in the crushing space
outside the gate at least. It's sort of a mediocre afterlife
compared to living in the crushing space where most souls end up
having to stay because they aren't strong enough to beat the
guardian to make it into the afterlife or strong enough to get
out of the crushing space. Places like this are for the people
who aren't strong enough to enter the good afterlives, so we're
the bad afterlife places. To get to the good places you have to
be REALLY strong, and you have to beat far worse guardians to
get into those afterlives. Like, in order to get into Heaven,
you have to be strong enough to kill a deity, which is an
impossible goal for most of us normal people unless you're born
with certain abilities that rival the gods, which does happen
from time to time. Those of us that are lucky enough to make it
to the good afterlives actually get to live a good afterlife
where we get to feed on spirits to our heart's content, and
those that go there get strengthened in their time there by the
empowerment of the gods to eventually help Lord Xeles manage the
Hell of Souls (though not all of them reach that level). If you
go to the good afterlives, you basically get trained up until
Lord Xeles recruits you to come to the Hell of Souls. Though
Lord Xeles has been known to recruit some living people to the
Hell of Souls without them dying if he finds their abilities
entertaining enough.
For us in the bad afterlives, we're basically just the failures
of Lord Xeles to create strong souls he can eventually turn into
stronger dark spirits. That's led to a lot of people believing
our multiverse is a testing ground to raise strong souls Lord
Xeles can turn into the most powerful of dark spirits he can use
to fight death wraiths, which is what most of us believe. Oh
yeah, and another thing... Akriloth and Knull may be seen by you
guys as strong (and believe me they are strong to me), but
they're nothing compared to the people who get into the good
afterlives. Those like Akriloth and Knull are strong enough to
at least somewhat challenge the guardians of the good afterlives
to a degree in that Knull and Akriloth could get into the good
afterlives, but those like Akriloth and Knull still are note
that intimidating compared to some of the guardians of the good
afterlives. For example, there's a guy that guards Heaven named
Jorle. The guy is an angel of destruction who can literally
destroy souls with his energy, his energy can overpower even
deities and he can finger flick the largest monsters like world
eater dragons (basically just like it sounds, dragons that eat
entire worlds) into oblivion. People like Jorle make Knull and
Akriloth look like your Lightverse mice in comparison (Our mice
are monsters you don't want to mess with). And the people who
run places like Heaven are even stronger than the guardians.
It's said that the lord of Heaven, Sariel, is strong enough to
choke entire worlds. However, she doesn't because Lord Xeles
won't let her. We think Lord Xeles doesn't want us all to be
murdered since Sariel has wanted to destroy our world to wipe
out the angel hybrids who have been born there. It's another
reason we think Lord Xeles is using our world as a testing
grounds to create dark spirits, because if Lord Xeles wanted us
all dead (since he is responsible for Gaia and Gale trying to
kill us), then he could just have Sariel destroy any world with
life.
Anyway, I made it to Kindron Darkfire, my teacher and the person
I answer to. Kindron recruited me when I was young, and helped
me overcome my illness. Kindron is... a bit of a strange deity.
He doesn't want us mortals to fight each other like we normally
do (because in our world, it's either you learn to survive or
you die, and most people don't like traveling in groups because
one person making a wrong move can get everyone killed).
Instead, Kindron says we need to be strong alone, but also
stronger together. If we work together, we can reach the good
afterlives and become what we're meant to be. I mean, even the
spirits that fight their way into Tartarus don't work together
(which is why most of them fail to beat those like Knull, our
previous guardian of the gate, or Akriloth). Kindron only
accepts the strong though, which makes me wonder why he ever
accepted me. I'm one of his second in commands, and he recruited
me alongside a young girl named Millia as two people he chose to
train himself. He chose Millia to train because she has divine
power, enough that she rivals the goddess Macha, a goddess of
destruction. I don't know why he wants me to train since Millia
seems more than strong enough, but he seems to want to train
Millia and me to eventually take Tartarus if he is ever killed
or if someone removes him from Tartarus, because if someone does
kill him and gain his power, then they could leave Tartarus and
go to the good afterlife almost immediately because of how
strong they'd be, which would be the only way they'd be able to
get to the good afterlives after entering Tartarus (Which we
suspect is the purpose of Tartarus to train those weak souls to
become strong enough to eventually get to the good afterlives,
but no soul seems to ever really be able to overcome their lack
of energy in Taraturs). But Kindron doesn't go to the good
afterlives himself because he focuses on trying to train up
mortals to become strong enough to make it to the good
afterlives. In return for his training, I basically run errands
for him, and do whatever he wants done, granted it's something a
weakling like I can do.
A lot of you might think I'm too humble, or I'm just not liking
to brag about surviving despite how life has tried to get me
murderered all the time. Sure I have a Bright State, the
Sharingan, chakra manipulation and even a mastery of falcon sage
energy. But the fact is, I'm not strong by any means. If I were
to die today, I wouldn't be strong enough to make it to
Akriloth, let alone defeat him in combat. I'd be stuck in the
crushing space for my entire afterlife unable to do anything.
And trust me, I tried to fight Akriloth a few times before. I
even trained against Knull when he was our guardian before he
died and went to the Hell of Souls to become a dark spirit. But
I'd have to beat Akriloth to make it just to Tartarus, and I
can't even beat him as a mortal. It would be even harder as a
soul to beat him because the crushing space would crush me like
a pancake (and yes, the crushing space is harsh on souls). Most
mortals, if they can get to the crushing space, can survive it
pretty easily because gravity is far harsher on our bodies, but
I barely handle the crushing space as a living person. If I die,
that's it, I'm stuck in the crushing space, and that's IF I
manage to fight my way past the reapers, collectors and dark
spirits who eat the souls of anyone they can get their hands on.
Now let me explain something. The crushing space is strong
enough to basically flatten souls not strong enough to resist
the pressure. Now how do I know I would flatten? Well... It's
because I have trouble with the crushing space now. When I go
there, I get weighed down and its hard to move. However, I'm a
mortal and shouldn't have that problem, because only souls
should be getting flattened. The fact that I am means my spirit,
if I didn't have a normal body, would be hit far harder than
almost any of the souls here already. That's how I know that the
crushing space would flatten me. But anyway... In the crushing
space, it's not as bad as the gravity in the living world. The
crushing space is sorta like what you Lightverse people would
think of gravity as. Except that the crushing space is like
using a magnet to pull spirit energy to the ground with a force
that would flatten most mortals if they were affected (they
aren't because their mortal bodies protect their souls from the
effects). The crushing space is strong enough that it would
basically like being pulled to the ground by being pulled to the
ground with the force of 100 mountains on you. And that's a
measurement for you Lightverse people, because one of our
mountains puts out more force than 100 of your mountains on
people who try to climb up on the mountain.
I should explain something else: Gravity in our world is much
like it is in the Lightverse, but it is different as well, as
you might expect. Gravity is another thing that is in constant
flux due to Gaia and Gale trying to use it to murder us. Gravity
changes so erratically, that we have to adapt to be able to
handle less or more pressure from our gravity at a moment's
notice. Some days, our gravity may try to send us into the sky,
but other times, it tries to pull us into the ground. We adapt
our bodies subconsciously in order to adjust the pressure in our
bodies to handle it thanks to our bodies having evolved to
change our body structures strength and pressure to counter
gravity. It isn't constant like it is in the Lightverse, and it
took our race a long time to learn to subconsciously adapt to
it. You Lightverse people can't handle constantly changing
pressures because you can actually die from it, but our
multiverse people can survive conditions that would kill you
Lightverse people. I hear the Lightverse people landed on the
moon. We never did that, but if we did, the only thing that
would stop us from making the trip is Blacklight and finding a
way to fly into space since our materials couldn't make a space
shuttle the same way you mortals made one. That's one thing you
have on us, is that your materials work better for creative
ideas, while our materials are very hard to manipulate and take
advantage of for creating new things due to the properties our
materials have. You try to manipulate a material to create a new
material, and usually it results in either you getting exploded
by the material, or Gaia taking notice and eating you for lunch.
Anyway, I made it to Kindron, since he had sent me a note to let
me know he found something on Knull. I walked up to the throne.
Kindron: Goten... How did the trip here go?
Me: It's raining and freezing outside... I said, taking off my
raincoat.
Kindron: Well... Lucky for you, you'll be going to the sage
realm, so you won't have to worry about rain since it isn't able
to rain where you're going. He says to me.
Me: Really? Why am I going there? I asked, curious. I mean, I
was grateful, since the sage realm was a little less murdery
than Gaia and Gale usually are since most of the creatures there
are servants of Gaia. However, the sage realms are different
because the sages there train mortals rather than hunt them.
Somehow, Gaia in the sage realms is a bit different from Gaia in
the real world. Gaia in the sage realms lets her servants, the
sages, train us. It's almost like Gaia in the sage realms wants
to train us up so she can have more fun hunting us down and
killing us. Either that or the sage realms are a safe zone of
sorts. But it's still not an easy place, because the same rules
do still apply, such as solid objects still hurt you if you
don't adapt to them, and wind can still tear you apart if you're
not strong enough to handle the winds. But the sage realm has
their own threats and creatures designed to make life hell for
us. For example, Sky City, the falcon sage territory, has giant
murder birds that will basically devour any human they can pluck
off the clouds (and yes, the city is on clouds which I know is
weird but would take too long to explain).
Kindron: Apparently, there's talk that Knull and his people were
in Owl Forest. Something about the fact they ended up there, and
the sages heard an "Owl Elder" talking about it.
I tilted my head. An Owl... elder? I asked, curious. Elders are
rare in our multiverse. Usually only the gods live to reach
elder age. Most of us never make it out of beyond 40 years or so
because Gaia has usually gotten us by then. As we get older, we
can't move as easily, and eventaully Gaia notices us once we
reach a certain age because our bodies can't move with precision
anymore. And then that's the end of us. Hearing of an elder is
rare, and usually only deities and creatures eternally young
ever reach elder status.
Kindron: Yeah. It's weird. I asked but there is no "Owl Elder".
The place is run by Vellin. She's not much older than you, and
she says there is no Owl Elder there. You're to go investigate
Owl Forest. Supposedly, dark spirits are supposed to be there,
and that's where Knull's group are, but not even Vellin can go
into the forest because of the overpopulation of foxes.
I sighed at the mention of foxes. Our foxes aren't like the
Lightverse versions. Ours are basically like spirits that hunt
living mortals. They attack and basically eat mortals, and then
devour their souls. They're one of the few animals that eat
souls, and they're also one of the only beings that can rip
apart souls when eating them. In groups, they'll share souls and
rip them into small enough pieces for everyone to get a bite.
Trust me, it's not a pleasant way to go. It's the most painful
true death you could experience (true death is what we call
ceasing to exist completely, which is what happens when our soul
is destroyed). And the worst thing about them is that many of
them develop their own special abilities, like some will use
water or acid to attack us in order to weaken us. These are more
or less what our foxes look like:
HTML https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/1005405705958903808/DHtbLf4U.jpg<br
/>. Our foxes usually travel in packs, and some of the more
dangerous ones will team up with other creatures of Gaia.
Me: This won't be easy... But I'll try. I said, sighing. I do
what Kindron tells me, because I'd be dead without his training
and his help. If this is what I got to do, then so be it.
Kindron: Don't worry. You'll be fine. He says to me. He has a
lot of confidence in me for some reason... Not sure why. I'm a
weakling not really worthy of being noticed by a god, let alone
a god of death.
So I called a falcon sage and had them take me to Sky City. I
trained with the falcon sages, and so they know me fairly well.
I would have to go and meet the owl sage, which I wasn't sure
how I felt about it. I ended up flying down into Mog Swamp, and
taking that path through into Owl Forest, because you can't fly
in the air above Owl Forest from what I hear, or the energy in
the air just crushes you to death. There's also rumors that the
fog above Owl Forest will dissolve your soul, but we don't know
how true that is.
I made my way into Owl Forest. I met the Owl Sage, and talked to
her. Not much to really say there. We had a discussion about the
strange nature of this rumor about an "Owl Elder". We couldn't
figure out what the heck the rumors were talking about. But when
talking to her, we came up with a theory that it's possible that
the rumors we heard could have been coming from another
universe, which indicates that Knull might be in another
universe, and if that's the case, there's no way we can get to
them. Universal travel is impossible in our multiverse. Each
universe has different spacial properties, and if we try, we
could not only destroy ourselves trying to go over to another
universe, but we might accidentally destroy our universe if
those spacial energies collide, which is basically like what you
Lightverse people call supernovas, but on a universal scale. But
then that doesn't make any sense how Knull managed to get to
another universe... Not unless he did so through the Hell of
Souls, which Lord Xeles can send us to other universes in our
Multiverse through it. So it's possible that's how they got to
another universe, but unless we are able to go to Lord Xeles
directly, we may never know for sure.
So, I went into the forest. Though we think Knull is in another
universe, I went to investigate the forest since that was my
assignment. I was on my own, since I didn't want to let the Owl
Sage go up against who knows how many foxes. Just going into the
forest, I had to avoid a lot of things.
I ended up avoiding a spider that was traveling around. That
wasn't fun. Spiders in our multiverse are 3 stories tall, and
they will literally suck the marrow out of you because when they
bite, they basically liquefy you from the inside and suck up
your insides till there's not much left of you. They're big
enough the only way to avoid them is to hide from them. Also, I
could hear the spider talking to its young. Which meant I had to
try and avoid any smaller spiders which would have been about my
size from attacking me. Times like this I'm glad for my chakra
abilities. Spiders can't sense me when I use my chakra
suppression to hide.
I went deeper into the forest, avoiding the foxes. As I got into
the forest, I started to realize this was probably a wild goose
chase. The only things in this forest were creatures I did NOT
want to have to encounter. No one could survive in this forest
for long. I'm sorry, but even Knull would have been eaten by
spiders or foxes in this forest. I got ready to leave, realizing
I was wasting my time, and I had almost reached Mog Swamp. Maybe
I'd talk to the lizard sages and see what they say.
However, that was when I saw a glow. Glows are what we call the
energy that comes off our eyes. Glows are the only thing in our
worlds that are not different shades of black. There are two
things that glow, eyes and blood. It's believed that our eyes
glow because our eyes use that energy for our darkvision that
lets us see despite there being no light in our multiverse. In
this case, I knew the glow had to be the eyes of a creature.
They weren't foxes, because foxes don't have glow anywhere on
their bodies since their eyes don't see like ours and they have
no blood since they're more like spirits. They were made to be
almost impossible to spot, since they are pure black. The few
that did have glow were the ones that were really dangerous.
However, it wasn't foxes... At least, not at first. It was
wolves. Not good. I wasn't gonna be hiding from them. Especially
since it seemed like they saw the glow of my eyes as well. These
are what our wolves look like:
HTML https://i.pinimg.com/originals/28/09/39/280939c01dfd1aeb0b6dea8c4b034ae0.jpg<br
/>. You Lightverse people think they're werewolves, but we laugh
at that. Our werewolves are four legged, two armed, two head,
and move at Mach 3. Our werewolves are also 15 feet tall and can
manipulate earth around them due to their nature connection. Our
wolves are basically creatures that hunt humans. They eat humans
as well as foxes, but luckily they don't eat souls. However, I
suddenly realized something as I heard growling behind me. It
wasn't the wolves that spotted me, it was their murder dogs that
found me (murder dogs are called such for obvious reasons).
These are what murder dogs look like:
HTML https://i.pinimg.com/236x/85/4a/76/854a7668c09bc135dfac7d49670bc431--werewolf-art-werewolves.jpg<br
/>and are more closer to what you Lightverse people would think
of
as wolves. You see, wolves spawn murder dogs in order to track
prey. They spawn them like disposable soldiers and use them to
point the way to prey. The murder dogs are dangerous all on
their own, but the wolves are far more dangerous.
I knew I was in trouble. Murder dogs and wolves surrounding me
meant one thing: They plan to make me their lunch. I could use
my Sharingan to control them, but that would make me a target
for Gaia. As the murder dogs attacked me, I started cutting them
down. The murder dogs weren't too much of a threat, but it was
the wolves I was worried about, because they're smart. They're
waiting for me to wear myself down fighting the murder dog
horde, and then they're gonna eat what's left. And I can't call
for help either because wolves can hear that frequency we use to
communicate.
As I continued to cut the murder dogs down, I noticed I was
starting to shake. The kunai knife in my hand was vibrating
because my arm was shaking. I think it was fear because I knew I
was about to be overwhelmed. I tried to get my hand under
control because I could feel the kunai shaking. But it was too
late...
Before I knew it, my hand had been split open and my kunai was
on the ground. I winced in pain (though we have pain resistance,
we still feel pain unlike what you Lightverse people believe). I
just stood there as what happened next happened in front of me.
My hand was bleeding heavily, and that was a VERY bad thing.
Because something really bad happens when you bleed in our
multiverse, no matter where you are. Blood attracts the Walkers.
What are the Walkers you ask? These:
HTML https://i.ytimg.com/vi/4Hey76rcTq0/maxresdefault.jpg
. Walkers
only appear when blood has been spilled because they absorb
blood. They usually only appear when someone is hurt, and they
are nearly impossible to kill. We're lucky they only appear when
blood is spilled, or else they would have killed us as a
species. These creatures are believed to be the direct children
of Gaia spawned from Lord Xeles himself. Walkers absorb blood,
they can track someone who's bleeding, and worse yet, they have
a call that can call reapers since they usually kill mortals and
let reapers take the souls.
And yeah... The Walkers first move was to call a reaper. I saw
him waiting in the background, just waiting to snack on my soul
when they killed me. (

/>)
The walkers moved toward me, and I desperate tried to get away.
However, the wolves and the murder dogs cut off my escape.
In our multiverse, you don't fight the Walkers. You run and hope
you can heal enough that they can no longer track you. Walkers
are impossible to kill for us normal folk (only one has ever
been killed in history, and no history books report how it was
done).
In our multiverse we have a saying: If you see Walkers, don't
bother praying. Because no matter who you pray to, the Walkers
will send you to meet them.
I knew I was screwed. Wolves on one side, Walkers on another,
and a reaper in the background waiting to take my soul.
I had only one chance. I had to activate my bright state and my
Sharingan. Yeah, it was gonna **** off Gaia, but it was my only
shot at surviving this. Worst case, being devoured by Gaia at
least means I might have a chance to die quickly, because death
by wolves is slow and painful. Wolves will eat people slowly,
and they eat the limbs first. They purposefully don't kill right
away because they love torturing their prey while they're
eating. On top of that, the Walkers would take my blood and the
reaper would come right after I'm dead and try to suck up my
soul. IF the foxes don't get to it first, which I started to
notice them flocking around me. The reaper actually started
waving them away, because he wanted my soul to himself. So the
foxes wouldn't be a problem. It was avoiding the walkers.
I tried to fight my way through, but I had to get off the ground
as Gaia opened the ground beneath me. I had to stand on a branch
in a tree, which led to the tree trying to grab me so the tree
could snap my neck... It's not known why, but tree branches will
grab any creature that makes contact with them and try to snap
their neck specifically. It's their preferred way to kill.
I had to control the tree and the murder dogs with my Sharingan,
and had them attack the wolves and the Walkers. It was my only
shot to create an opening. Luckily, my bright state along with
my fast healing meant I was slowly healing. I tried to use my
free hand to put my hand back together since it was split in
half, but it wasn't healing fast enough.
I tried to attack the Walkers, but nothing I did even made them
flinch. They just made their way toward me, absorbing the blood
I was leaving behind. Not even my flame breath jutsu was doing
any damage to the walkers, even though the wolves didn't like
it. So I was wrong... There is at least one "thing that doesn't
burn" in our multiverse... It's the Walkers that are pretty much
immune to everything.
But I was slowly starting to lose consciousness, and that's when
one of the wolves slashed me across the chest as he snuck up on
me. He slashed me and I feel down to the ground. The impact
pretty much knocked the wind out of me, as well as broke a lot
of bones in my body. The Walkers and the wolves were moving
closer to me. If I were lucky, the Walkers would get me first
since death by Walker is quicker than death by wolf.
I couldn't even move at this point. My Sharingan deactivated,
and my bright state couldn't maintain itself. Gaia wasn't even
trying to eat me right now, because I'm pretty sure Gaia knew I
was done. Either that or me not being in my bright state or
using my Sharingan must have made me invisible again to Gaia's
senses. I wasn't that lucky with the Walkers or the wolves
though.
I couldn't believe though, as blasts of purifying energy blasted
everything away from me. I wasn't even registering what was
going on, but when I came to, Millia was standing over me with a
glare. I looked down at myself. She had clearly healed me.
Millia: You'd be dead without me. She said to me.
Me: Yeah... Probably. I said as I got up and regained my
composure. I wasn't even in the same place, so I assume Millia
teleported me somewhere. What are you even doing here? I asked
her. I was thankful for her help and all, but I was curious why
she was in Owl Forest at all.
Millia: Isn't it obvious, moron? Kindron sent me to watch after
you. He wasn't about to send you into a den of foxes alone you
know. And good thing he did, or else you'd be dead. I can't
believe you let your own kunai do that to you... You'd never see
me make a mistake like that. She said to me. She is so full of
herself. She thinks she's better than everyone else because she
has power equal to that of the gods, and was acknowledged by
Kindron. If it weren't for that divine power, she wouldn't be
much stronger than me.
Goten: How did you get me away from the Walkers? And what
happened to that reaper?
Millia: Teleportation. I healed you, got rid of the blood and
teleported around till they couldn't track us. Took like 20
teleportations before I lost them. They just kept teleporting to
me. It was the first time I've ever seen one of them. The reaper
probably lost us when I teleported the first time.
I sighed. Well, at least we're alive. That's about the best
result we're going to get out of this. In our multiverse, if you
survive the day, it's been a good one. I'm one of the few that's
seen a Walker and lived to tell about it. That's an
accomplishment... Well, more for Millia than me, but it still
counts.
Another day was done in my life. I survived another thing I
shouldn't have, and honestly, I should be thankful I did. I
guess I should thank Millia... But I won't say anything because
I don't want to inflate her ego even more. I'll come up with
something nice to do for her for saving my life.
