RP Story: Search for the Trident

Maria Blackbeard had been off the grid lately, as some of her
crew had been training, but she had been keeping her ears open
for anything concerning the trident. This time, rumors of
strange happenings near a new sudden island appearance in the
sea had gotten people talking, with someone believing a god of
the sea would be there. The island, identified as Scuabtuinne by
some those that new anything about Celtic mythology, is said to
be the home of the Celtic god of the sea, Manannan Mac Lir.
Knowing this was a great chance to hopefully get information on
where the trident was from an actual god, and perhaps one of the
few chances that she'd get to meet one of the Celtic gods (as
not many had survived the battle for Falias).
Currently, Maria's ship was running with a small crew, with
Kaouri, the other Lucille Xeno, and Erron Black. The trip there
was difficult, due to the area around the island being like a
maze of fog that seemed to mess up everyone's sense of direction
(even Lucy's which was very rare). However, after eventually
making it to shore, Maria gets ready.
Maria: Keep your ears open and leave if things get too
dangerous.
Kaouri: You want us to leave you behind? He says, confused.
Lucy: Don't worry. The captain can take care of herself.
Kaouri: I know... Just seems like an unusual order.
Maria stops and thinks for a moment. Maria: I don't know...
There's something... unusual about this place. I have a strange
feeling I haven't felt in years. She says in thought. She wasn't
sure if it was her own paranoia, but she had a feeling that if
things didn't go well, someone may die here, something she
hadn't felt since she was young.
As she makes her way onto the island, she soon finds small
creatures, which seemed a bit scared of her at first. But soon,
one of them comes out and looks to Maria nervously. Creature:
Why are you here? Are you here to kill like the other people? He
says to her.
Maria, in what was a bit of an odd reaction for her, just leans
down and pats the creatures head. Maria: Don't worry. I'm not
here to hurt you guys. She says softly, with a much more caring
voice than anyone would have expected from her.
Once the creature had warmed up to her, the others come out as
well, looking up to her as they seemed not so afraid of her.
Soon, the roar of a golem could be heard in the distance, which
makes makes the creatures whimper in fear.
Maria: What was that?
Creature: Ever since bad three come, the monsters go crazy. We
can't play with them anymore because they attack us. The
creature says.
Maria thinks for a moment. Maria: Why do they attack you?
Creature: We don't know. They won't talk to us. He says to her.
Maria: I'll go confront them. Maybe I can figure out what's
going on. She says as she gets up.
One of the creatures jumps up and hands on Maria's back, peering
over her shoulder. Creature: I'll go with you. Maybe I can help.
Maria, her curiosity getting the better of her, decides to ask a
question she wanted to ask. Maria: If you don't mind me asking,
what are you creatures? I've never seen or heard of anything
like you. I can tell you're not moglins.
Creature: We are Far Darrig. We serve Manannan. Me called Farfar
He says proudly.
Maria: Manannan Mac Lir? I see. So he is here. She says as she
starts heading to the group.
Other Far Darrig: Come play with us sometime! They say to Maria.
Maria smiles, which was something she never did, and looks to
them. Maria: Maybe I will.
Maria goes deeper into the island, going into a cave that led to
the deepest parts of the island.
As they get close, more roaring can be heard, along with some
other Far Darrig seen running away from a golem.
Maria; Farfar, right? I need you to get off so I can kill the
creature. She says as Farfar responds by jumping off her back
and standing next to her.
Farfar: Don't kill them please! They our friends! He says to
Maria.
Maria sighs a bit. Maria: Alright... I'll try not to kill it.
She goes and attacks it, knocking it's head off. She was a bit
surprised that its head came off so easily, but it doesn't stop
attacking as it tries to punch her with it's arm which almost
hits her. Soon, the head jumps back over and then jumps on the
body. Maria tries to blast it to pieces by using her water
abilities, but the bodies just come back together no matter how
many times it's blasted apart.
Maria: Well... That's an unusual ability. It's not regeneration,
but more like it can survive in individual pieces. She says,
noting the head jump back on the body.
Meanwhile, Farfar was watching the battle, and upon watching one
of Maria's water blasts, notices something in the distance, as
he sees what appear to be blood crystals in the ground. at the
other edge of the cave near the trees.
Farfar: Those crystals over there. He says, pointing to the
crystals. They give strange feels.
Maria looks over, and notices the crystals. Maria: Is that
blood? Frozen? She says, somewhat confused as she avoids the
golem and goes over to the crystals, luring the golem away from
the other Far Darrig, who were now hiding in fear.
As Maria pulls the crystals out of the ground, she notices
something strange about them, in that they had some strange
power that seemed to be reacting negatively with the ground.
Maria pulls them out, and uses her sulfuric acid power to
destroy the crystals, melting them away before the golem could
attack.
However, after the crystals were melted, the golem stops
attacking, and suddenly just looks to the Far Darrig, letting
out a small growl which seemed to put the Far Darrig at ease as
they all run up and hug the golem, which strangely pats them on
the head softly.
Maria: What happened?
Farfar runs over to Maria and hugs her leg. Farfar: You did it!
Golem man said bad three made bad energy that made other
creatures lose control. But you saved them all!
Maria looks at the golem, which now seemed friendly with the
other Far Darrig.
Maria: What a strange place... She says with a shrug. She then
looks to Farfar. I'm afraid I'm going to have to go deeper in.
If I encounter those three you were talking about, I'm afraid I
can't risk you getting hurt. She says as she leans down and pats
Farfar on the head softly. I think it's time we parted ways. She
says softly. It was fairly strange for Maria to be compassionate
about anything, but the Far Darrig seemed to bring out a side of
her she wasn't used to.
Farfar: Okay. Please come visit us again, water lady. He says as
he jumps up and hugs Maria, who hugs him back before letting him
go rejoin his Far Darrig friends. Even the golem looks to Maria
and gives Maria a soft growl. It didn't take a translator to
tell Maria that it was thanking her for helping them. However,
Maria tries to ignore it and move on.
She goes deeper into the island, coming out of the cave on the
other side. After seeing a temple, she heads to the temple.
However, once inside, she would find the Triam Trio inside,
which look over to her as she enters.
Alejandro: That must be Maria Blackbeard... He says, analyzing
her. Hikari steps forward, activating her Sharingan.
Hikari: It's her. She says, ready to fight as she takes out a
knife.
Maria: And just who are you three supposed to be?
Hikari: I'm the new lord of the sea... Or I will be once I get
the trident. She says confidently.
Maria: A brat like you? She says as she gets ready to fight as
well. She takes out a sword, and gets ready.
Hikari: I was made solely to fight people like you and Raven.
Don't underestimate me.
Maria: Made? She says, not being familiar with the Triam Trio.
Their battle starts, as Hikari and Maria trade blows with Maria
using her sword and Hikari using her kunai knives. The two seem
fairly even so far, even with Hikari being able to read Maria's
movements, and both seem to be at about equal power.
Hikari: She's... stronger than the reports indicated. She says
as she tries to figure out how to overpower Maria. She then uses
her blood crystals, trying to fire them at Maria who counters
with her sulfuric acid power she had been practicing with her
demon powers. The two powers clash and seemed to explode with
acid and crystal pieces. That power isn't in the reports
either...
Maria: I don't show off my power unless I have to. She says as
she then attempts to grab Hikari. It doesn't take long before
Alejandro and Cinder blast Maria with a mix of lightning and
fire.
Alejandro: We don't have time to waste on a long and drawn out
battle... A battle like this could go on for longer than we have
time for. He says to Hikari.
Maria is sent flying back as Hikari gets ready a blood owl bomb,
and blasts Maria hard enough that she had to go to water form to
avoid the damage as she forms nearby, but only just before being
hit by Alejandro's lightning, which seemed to hit her before she
fully reformed.
Maria tries to block Cinder's followup, but the earth somes to
change spots under her as parts of the earth move to attack her
thanks to Cinder's manipulation. Hikari takes the opportunity to
combine her power with Alejandro's, in which he charges her
blood owl bomb with a lightning blast and the blast hits Maria
hard enough that she blasted through an altar and through a wall
in the temple.
Maria tries to get up, but her body was having difficulty
regenerating due to Hikari and Alejandro having put the power of
their Jenova cells into their attacks. She falls to her knees,
weak as she tries to figure out how to counter all three of
them. Due to their coordination, it was nearly impossible for
Maria to counter all three without help.
As the three get ready to spear Maria with a combined attack,
they are stopped as a blast of wind knocks them all back as
Manannan appears in a blast of water.
Manannan: I was hoping you might entertain me for a while since
nothing interesting happens here often... But I'm already
disappointed in what I've seen here... I thought you had more
honor than that. He says to the three, but aiming the last part
at Alejandro.
Alejandro: We fight as one. That is our purpose. Honor isn't
something I can always afford my enemies as much as I wish I
could. He says as he gets ready to attack. However, Manannan
just blasts him with a water blast, knocking him back.
Hikari: I got an idea... I'll absorb his water attack and you
use a lava attack. She says to Cinder, who nods as they both
attack. However, Manannan just blasts them with lightning
instead of water.
Manannan: I'm the god of the sea... Not the god of deafness. He
says to them after blasting them back.
Alejandro: He can use lightning? He says, somewhat confused. He
tries to blast Manannan with a blast of wind, but the wind is
just blasted back at him, knocking him back.
Manannan: You don't know anything about me do you? Used to be
that people were more behaved when they came to my island. I'm a
god of storms, as well as a god of the sea.
Alejandro gets up and stand in front of them. Alejandro: It
seems you're stronger than we thought. Perhaps we can come to an
agreement.
Manannan just looks to Alejandro. Manannan: Fine. Leave and
never return, and I will spare your lives this time. I shouldn't
after what you did while here, but I'm not a senseless murderer.
Alejandro: If you can tell us where the trident is, we will
leave peacefully. He says to Manannan.
Manannan: This isn't a negotiation. Leave or die. I won't
hesitate to kill all three of you. He says as he starts forming
a storm of water, wind and lightning around him. Alejandro looks
to his sisters silently, and they all teleport away.
Maria looks to Manannan. Maria: You're him... The god Manannan
right? Why didn't you intervene sooner?!
Manannan looks to Maria. Manannan: I didn't care who won your
fight. I just didn't think 3 vs 1 was a fair fight. I would have
been fine watching you lose if that girl had fought with her own
strength, and she might have beaten you if you'd fought longer.
You deserve it after all the people you've killed. He says with
a glare to Maria.
Maria: So you weren't trying to help me?
Manannan: I thought you deserved a fair chance... You did help
the Far Darrig and the golems... So I decided to show you some
mercy. It is time for you to leave here. I've lost interest in
you and those people's intentions for the trident at this point,
even if I knew where it was. I will allow you to come back since
the Far Darrig seem to like you, but your intent is far from
pure, so don't expect anything from me. He says coldly to her.
Maria, still weak, is teleported out by Manannan's godly power
as she finds herself back on the coast. Still weak and injured,
Maria loses consciousness as she falls in the sand. Once
unconscious, the last person who one would think would appear
walks up to her.
Shanks: Jeez... They did a number on you... He says as she picks
up Maria, though thanks to Maria's weight, Shanks had a hard
time carrying her. Damn... Never seen a girl so heavy before. He
says jokingly. He then goes back to his boat, and gets to
Maria's ship in his small boat. His crew had a ship nearby, but
Shanks decides to leave Maria on her own ship. He takes her to
the center of the ship and puts her down near the mast as Kaouri
and Lucy run up to them.
Kaouri: What happened? Did she fight Raven again? He says,
noticing how beat up Maria was.
Shanks: No... She met the new clones Hyperion has of the
Olympian demi-gods. I'm guessing they were too much for her. I
think it's the Jenova Cells they're empowered with... He says
with a sigh.
Kaouri: I can't believe she got beat up so bad-
Kaouri is interrupted by cannons which fire on his and Maria's
ships, which happens alongside a sudden storm that comes over
the area, rocking all the ships heavily as lightning strikes
down and starts damaging both ships. The group goes over and
looks, noticing it was the Queen Anne's Revenge, Blackbeard's
ship.
Kaouri: That's.... Blackbeard's ship right? What the hell?! He's
supposed to be dead!
Shanks: I heard rumor recently of an alternate one... After that
Zeus took over, he brought some of his people over. I heard
rumors that a new Blackbeard was killing people looking for the
Trident, which was why I came to follow you guys to see if we
would be attacked.
Lucy: We have two ships. They have one. We can win. She says
confidently.
Shanks: Don't... Just get us out of here. That ship has
destroyed entire armadas of government ships! I don't want to
risk a big battle right now when neither of our groups has their
full crew. He says to Lucy.
Lucy: Fine. She says as she goes to set up a dark matter
transport, which seems to teleport them and Shanks's ship with a
large barrier of dark matter since Lucy had set the ship's dark
matter teleportation system to affect the area to teleport the
other ship as well. As they teleport, the alternate Blackbeard,
who was watching from his ship, just looks as the ships teleport
away, along with everything that was in the dark matter bubble
(specifically the water around them).
On Blackbeard's ship, he looks over to the alternate Maria, who
was a ghost manifested in human form next to him. Blackbeard:
Well... Did Zeus tell you they could do that? He says, somewhat
confused.
Alternate Maria: He mentioned a ship running on dark matter, but
not an ability to teleport... But it would make sense I suppose.
Dark matter is said to affect gravity after all which can bend
time and space.
Blackbeard sighs. Blackbeard: Well... I guess we'll have to go
then. Seems this was a waste of time. If they're leaving, then
they obviously didn't find the trident if they're not fighting
back. What a disappointing turn of events.
Alternate Maria: We'll get them next time, Father... Don't
worry.
No one know where the trident was, but one thing was obvious, it
seems the search for it now has two more interested parties who
are also searching for the trident.
