Conner: Dying's a part of life, sugar. But I would rather die
than abandon the people I care about. Otherwise, that'll make me
no less than the dogs out there.

Marie: I suppose you’re right. Death comes for us all eventually
She looks out at the room around her sighing as she thinks on
her deal with Legba. And then as her gaze comes back to Conner
she thinks of Bastion. Perhaps she’ll make another deal to
protect him, protect them all. Keep herself from another
devastating loss even if the cost is high. Whenever that is. But
if you’re going to help I should look into protecting you.
Protecting all of you from whatever I can, and get ahead of the
issue. I have some ideas.
At her words he slips an arm back around her to take her with
him as he quickly turns. For a moment it feels like they’re
being both pushed against from all sides and pulled along until
they’re dumped into the corridor of a little townhouse. Sirius:
Welcome to the humble local abode of Lord Black. He says his
title with a heavy dose of sarcasm. Danae will immediately see
the stark contrast between here and the Black Family home in
London. It’s much more open and of course bigger on the inside.
It’s decorated in burgundy and cream colors with gold accents.
The walls have old music and movie posters alongside photos of
the group over the years including recent ones from events and
moments he wasn’t at. Sirius: The photos came from Az and Moony
if you’re curious.

Conner: As long as it's nothing too crazy like selling your
heart to some demon or something. Besides, can't have you do all
of the protecting.
Danae takes a minute to soak it all in. Of course, she observe
the photos and picked up one of the old photos.

Marie: No, but I can do as much of the work as possible. And I
would never bargain my heart, you can’t offer something you
already gave away. My soul is safe for the same reason.
He heads to the kitchen pulling down a couple liquor bottles
from the cabinet. He quietly watches her in the process giving
her space to reminisce. The photo she picked up is from
Christmas post graduation. It was taken in the living room of
Grimmauld Place. In it Remus and Lily are dancing together while
Danae talks to James by the fireplace. Sirius is in the floor
leaning against the couch discussing something with a very drunk
looking blonde, Marlene Mckinnon, and order member and later
beta to Moony who went went missing and was assumed dead with
her parents during the war. The only person from that party
missing is Dorcas, Marlene’s girlfriend and a fellow Order
member who also passed tragically, so she likely took this
photo. It’s a wizarding photo so it moves on a loop catching
Lily’s silly twirl, James throwing his head back laughing, and
Marlene looking briefly at Danae before turning her eyes back to
Sirius.
