RP Profile: The Seelie Queen (partial w.i.p)
By: Caterina Sforza Date: May 19, 2020, 6:47 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
“She likes to be on the winning side of things, the Seelie
       Queen” ~about her
“You said there was nothing in the world you wanted. When you
imagine your life without him, do you still feel the same?”
“In the Land under the Hill, in the Time Before …
Once upon a time, there was a beautiful lady of the Seelie Court
who lost her heart to the son of an angel. Once upon a time,
there were two boys come to the land of Faerie, brothers noble
and bold. One brother caught a glimpse of the fair lady and,
thunderstruck by her beauty, pledged himself to her. Pledged
himself to stay. This was the boy Andrew. His brother, the boy
Arthur, would not leave his side. And so the boys stayed beneath
the hill, and Andrew loved the lady, and Arthur despised her.
And so the lady kept her boy close to her side, kept this
beautiful creature who swore his fealty to her, and when her
sister lay claim to the other, the lady let him be taken away,
for he was nothing. She gave Andrew a silver chain to wear
around his neck, a token of her love, and she taught him the
ways of the Fair Folk. She danced with him in revels beneath
starry skies. She fed him moonshine and showed him how to give
way to the wild. Some nights they heard Arthur’s screams, and
she told him it was an animal in pain, and pain was in an
animal’s nature. She did not lie, for she could not lie. Humans
are animals. Pain is their nature. For seven years they lived in
joy. She owned his heart, and he hers, and somewhere, beyond,
Arthur screamed and screamed. Andrew didn’t know; the lady
didn’t care; and so they were happy. Until the day one brother
discovered the truth of the other. The lady thought her lover
would go mad with the grief of it and the guilt. And so, because
she loved the boy, she wove him a story of deceitful truths, the
story he would want to believe. That he had been ensorcelled to
love her; that he had never betrayed his brother; that he was
only a slave; that these seven years of love had been a lie. The
lady set the useless brother free and allowed him to believe he
had freed himself. The lady subjected herself to the useless
brother’s attack and allowed him to believe he had killed her.
The lady let her lover renounce her and run away. And the lady
beheld the secret fruits of their union and kissed them and
tried to love them. But they were only a piece of her boy. She
wanted all of him or none of him. As she had given him his
story, she gave him his children. She had nothing left to live
for, then, and so lived no longer. This is the story she left
behind, the story her lover will never know; this is the story
her daughter will never know. This is how a faerie loves: with
her whole body and soul. This is how a faerie loves: with
destruction. I love you, she told him, night after night, for
seven years. Faeries cannot lie, and he knew that. I love you,
he told her, night after night, for seven years. Humans can lie,
and so she let him believe he lied to her, and she let his
brother and his children believe it, and she died hoping they
would believe it forever. This is how a faerie loves: with a
gift.” ~The Seelie Queen reciting the story of her Grandmother
That is love, son of thorns. We welcome its cruelest blows and
when we bleed from them, we whisper our thanks. ~to the Lord of
       Shadows
“We all tell the truth as we see it.”
“You warned her about us. That we would hurt her, break her as
you might break a twig between your fingers. But you, who
thought you could not be touched — you are the one who has been
       broken”
“Angels are all alike. Their morality makes them fickle,
selfish, weak. In the end, they always choose their own kind.”
“I rather miss your Gabriel. Of all of you he was the prettiest
       and best mannered.” ~To Muriel
Precisely why she made such a good killer. The sweeter the
       honey, the deadlier the trap.
       Name: Seelie Queen
       Real Name: Unknown
       Titles: Faerie Queen
       Queen of the Seelie Court
       Age: Unknown
       Species: Fae
       Gender: Female
       Association: The Seelie Court
       The Unseelie Court (enemies)
       Celtic Pantheon
Abilities: Faerie Physiology: User with this ability either is
or can transform into a faery, a being that is either nature
spirit, pagan god, angel aligned with neither Heaven or Hell, or
something completely else. The way this power manifests varies
greatly, but among the possibilities are pointed ears, unusual
coloring (hair, skin and/or eyes), animalistic features (horns,
animal ears or eyes, tail, antennae, etc). Others change their
size, manifest sigils over their body, ethereal glow or no
changes at all: faeries are among the most variable known
beings. In moral scale users can be good or evil, but are most
       commonly neutral.
Magic: The magic of the Fae, or Fey, is believed to be unique
in the world. It is very old and powerful, but neither
demonically nor seraphically aligned. They can harness the
powers of the ley lines, along with other strange magics.
Nature Channeling: Nature channeling is an ability used by most
Faeries that allows them to project and manipulate mystical,
arcane energy. The ability has been described as 'nature itself'
and can easily harm any human within close range. A Fae with
this ability can channel nature through their body and project
it in a concentrated and powerful blast of light which seems to
manifest as magical energy or a kinetic force, conclusively
throwing or repelling objects a considerable distance. This
power has been displayed to contain mysterious supernatural
effects, such as breaking illusion and reversing/removing
spells. Nature channeling is also the core feature of Fae magic
and can be used for a number of purposes other than offensive
       blasts.
Love Detection: The user can detect the feeling of love between
oneself and/or others without reading apparent symptoms,
allowing them to find out the people around them is in love or
building to that level. They may be able to sense the depth of
       that emotion.
Emotion Manipulation: User can sense and manipulate the
emotions, including feelings, moods and their affects, of
themselves, people, animals and other creatures, whether by
increasing, decreasing, causing or otherwise channeling
emotions, even manifesting the emotional energy to physical
       level.
Emotions have been described as discrete and consistent
responses to internal or external events which have a particular
significance for the organism. They are brief in duration and
consist of a coordinated set of responses, which may include
verbal, physiological, behavioral, and neural mechanisms.
In addition, relationships exist between emotions, such as
having positive or negative influences, with direct opposites
existing. The contrasting and categorization of emotions
describes how emotions are thought to relate to each other.
Omnilingual: User can speak, write, understand and communicate
in any language, including computer codes, languages they have
never been heard before, sign language (even lip-reading),
illegible words, and backwards speech and writing with little or
no training. The user may even communicate with non-human
       animals or read body language.
Ley Line Manipulation: User can manipulate ley lines, the
conduits of energy that surround a planet. They're able to bend
the mystic forces of the world to their whim. Some ley lines are
also associated with locations such as buildings, stone circles,
standing stones, monuments, megaliths, natural ridge-tops,
churches built on sacred ground, water-fords, etc.
Weapons: Tattoos and Markings: All fae of the Seelie Court have
vine and branch shaped markings on the side of their faces. This
allows the seelie queen to communicate with and command them.
She can also just as easily use them to cut off ties with them
as she did once with a group of scouts. She can also grant these
markings upon others outside of the court
Names: Just as having a Fae’s name, one having yours is just as
dangerous as then they have power over you in some way or
       another.
Weaknesses: Iron: Particularly those merely wrought but yet to
be heated and shaped, is toxic to faeries. Because of this, the
term "cold iron" has been used to refer to the fey and the fact
that iron is cold to the touch, which was at one time believed
to be associated with its magical properties.
Steel: An alloy of iron, is usually not toxic to faeries, as it
is the purity of iron that grants its power over the fey, though
it does weaken them to some extent
Holy Water: While able to stand the presence and its touch,
faeries are severely weakened and become ill if fooled into
       drinking holy water.
Real Name: Knowing a faerie's real name gives one power over
them just as if one gave their name to a Faerie the Faerie would
       have power over that person.
Rowan trees: Either the tree itself or its berries - are said to
protect from magical influences. That means that it’s easily
       able to weaken Fae magic.
Salt: While Salt doesn’t harm them directly, it is a good
deterrent. Often if one wishes to keep a Fae creature away from
them or a specific item salt can be used.
Personality: As a faerie, the Seelie Queen displays her people's
nature of manipulating quite well, wherein since they cannot
lie, they weave words together without giving the whole truth,
leading others to give into the faeries' demands. She is the
type of woman to manipulate people from the shadows, and while
many, including Nephilim and some other supernatural species,
view her as a villain, she does what she thinks is right for her
people. She sees no point in liking things or people—she knows
the value of both loving and hating but simply liking has no use
for the Queen. Her intersection with some show it gives her some
level of pleasure to mess with people who are in love, playing
tricks on them for no purpose other than to show them the extent
       of her power and knowledge.
