(Sin City Story: The Big Man of Crime)
(A story I've wanted to do for a while. Thanks to Kierran for
letting me use his Wolf Spider character for this story.)
       Part 1: First Encounter
Tombstone's Theme: The Big Man (
  HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Hsb8sNXCjA
       )
It had been a busy last few weeks for Hei after spending time in
Vegas after his cousin Raven was present in Vegas. Hei had
gotten on the wrong side of the mafia after he had been hired to
kill corrupt politicians who had been working for Tombstone, who
everyone knew as the "Big Man of Crime". After Hei had killed a
few of the members of his organization, Hei was being hunted by
Tombstone's enhanced supernatural hunters. After the first few
deaths, Hei was not only being hunted by the Mafia's of Las
Vegas, but he was also being hunted by the police, given Hei's
work as an assassin. No one know who Hei truly worked for, or
even who Hei was. Hei's work as an assassin had meant that he
had to keep his real name secret, and the only name he used when
wearing his Black Reaper outfit was "Hei" because he had to keep
his name secret. No one had even known who was paying Hei, so no
one had any clues who he might be working for. The only clue
anyone had was that the original Black Reaper sightings were in
Japan, tying back to ancient Japanese organizations, as no one
yet knew that the Black Reaper that used to be in Japan was
actually Qrow Darkfire in his younger days, not Hei who was the
one running around Las Vegas at the time.
During a time when Hei was known only as the "Black Reaper", and
no one knew that Hei was not the "original" Black Reaper, Hei
was only known by two names. The first was the "Black Reaper" on
account of him brutally killing those who he had targeted, and
the persona he had adopted with a white mask and black jacket
was exactly the same as the first Black Reaper, who no one knew
was Hei's father, Qrow Darkfire. The other name was by the FBI
and Interpol who had been trying to catch him for years, who
would often refer to him by his file name: BK-201 (A filename
shared by both Hei and Qrow Darkfire as no one knew they were
separate people at this time). This was a major reason that Hei
couldn't reveal his identity, as the police would immediately
seek to arrest him wherever he went. Thanks to this, Hei's only
interaction with the world was through his alter ego, Lei
Shengshun, who was simply known as a clumsy human who wasn't
really noticable in a crowd. Hei was usually only known for when
he spent his time as the "person" who was simply called by his
alias "Hei" (which was based on the Chinese word for Black), in
which he always had illusion clones acting as his alter ego, so
no one was able to suspect Lei Shengshun was Hei when Hei had
been seen a few times saving Lei Shengshun, including a time he
saved Lei and Hei's cousin, Raven, from a gang who captured
them. Since Raven didn't know who Hei was beyond being an
assassin who seemed to protect her whenever she ran in to
trouble, not even Raven would ever learn anything about Hei's
       identity.
It was another job for Hei, in which he had killed another
corrupt politician. However, unlike the others Hei had been paid
to kill, Hei had gotten some interesting information about the
man known as the "Big Man", otherwise known as Tombstone, as the
politician was trying to give Hei information so Hei would let
him live. After finding out about Tombstone's identity as L.
Thompson Lincoln (Something almost no one knew), Hei killed the
politician, but then decided to hunt down this L. Thompson
Lincoln to confirm the information. Hei had heard of the man,
who was known as a well known public figure and respected
businessman, despite his strange appearance, and didn't know
what to make of what he'd been told. However, he was no stranger
to secret identities, so he decided to investigate it himself.
It was a quite day in Lincoln's building, and the sun had gone
down. After the building had closed down and security was
minimal, Hei had snuck in, using his electrical abilities to
take out cameras and knock out police officers along the way.
Despite what it looked like, Hei only killed people he believed
deserved to die, and usually only killed people he knew were
evil. Given that the police force there were probably innocent
people, Hei decided to not kill them in case since he had heard
rumors that the police were secretly being manipulated by people
like "The Big Man" (who Hei was trying to confirm was L.
Thompson Lincoln). Of course, using a small electrical charge to
knock people out wasn't too hard, just requiring physical
contact. Given Hei's assassin training and his powers as a
Darkfire, Hei was extremely well trained and managed to easily
make his way through the building until he reached Tombstone's
office. Upon getting inside, Tombstone turned to him, even
though Hei had made almost no sound coming in the room as he had
opened the door silently using his sound nullification from his
       Darkfire assassin training.
Tombstone glares at Hei from across the room as Hei walks up,
realizing that Tombstone had figured out he was there. Hei
knocks out the two guards that were guarding the door before
       turning to Tombstone.
Hei: I take it you're the one they refer to as "Mr. Lincoln"?
Tombstone: I take it you're the assassin who's been mercilessly
killing politicians? And you're now here for me, is that it?
He stays silent, taking out a knife that he had planned to use
       to kill Tombstone.
Tombstone: If you're here for Mr. Lincoln, you could have just
made an appointment... But I suppose I can make an exception
this once. He says as he walks around his desk and looks Hei
over. So you're the one they call the "Black Reaper"? I can see
how you earned that reputation. I don't suppose I could sway you
       to come work for me?
Hei stays silent, holding his knife ready.
Tombstone: I can pay you a handsome amount. You're proven your
       skills to be quite valuable.
Hei, using his extreme speed, tries to get behind Tombstone to
stab him in the back, to which Tombstone catches Hei's wrist and
tosses him over his shoulder. Hei lands on the desk, breaking it
in half with the force of impact after being caught off guard.
He gets up and jumps out of the way before Tombstone can put his
foot down on his chest, and Hei tries again to get close enough
to deliever a fatal blow. Hei attacks again, once again getting
caught when Tombstone grabbed his wrist, this time squeezing
hard enough that the bones started to crackle and snap in Hei's
wrist. Despite the pain, Hei only winced in pain, using his
disciplined mind to shut down his pain centers, at the cost of
not being able to feel anything near where his wrist bones were
snapped. Of course, this also meant Hei dropped his knife when
his bones snapped, and tries to break free.
Tombstone punches Hei a few times, in which he manages to cause
heavy damage to Hei, breaking some of Hei's ribs. After letting
go of Hei's wrist, Hei tries to hit him with his other hand,
while his wrist regenerates. However, Hei's attacks are met with
heavy punches to the gut and chest, and Tombstone knocks Hei
down again, almost knocking him out. Hei gets up slowly,
regenerating the damage he had taken, but Hei was grabbbed
before he could get up by Tombstone, who picks him up holding
Hei's throat. He lifts Hei off the ground with one hand, holding
Hei by the throat and making sure to cut off just enough of
Hei's oxygen supply that Hei was having trouble catching his
breath, but not squeezing hard enough to cut off Hei's oxygen
       supply completely.
After Tombstone grabs Hei's throat, Hei tries to free himself by
using his lightning on Tombstone, but it doesn't do much to him
other than make Tombstone wince a bit.
Tombstone: I will offer you one last time. Work for me. I
promise to double any pay you're currently getting.
Hei starts to heat up his body with dark flames, trying to get
free, but still to no success as Tombstone is barely hurt by the
       flames.
Tombstone: Tell you what... How about we make a deal. I have a
few things I could do to you and make sure you can't ever go
anywhere again without being chased by authorities or mafia
members... And I could even go after your cousin, the vampire
girl you frequently hang around with. I could make sure she ends
up in an... unfortunately accident. He says to Hei, which he
snaps his attention to Tombstone when he hears Tombstone refer
to Raven as his cousin. He stays silent, not wanting to give
anything away but still trying to break free of Tombstone's
       grip.
Tombstone: Still struggling? Fine. Before the girl dies... I'll
tell the world who you really are. I want you to think about it.
Work for me and I'll keep that secret, and even make sure that
girl you protect is protected. He says to Hei who was glaring at
       Tombstone.
Hei: And what makes you think I care?
Tombstone: I know who she is... And I know who you are...
Kindron Darkfire II. I will give you a day or two to think about
it before I give the information to the press and the police.
I'm sure the FBI will love to know who you are, and what you and
your cousin are involved in. He says, using Hei's original name
which almost no one knew, catching him off guard. While Hei
didn't show that he was surprised, he was trying to figure out
how Tombstone had found out his real name, and how he could have
probably known Raven's name as well. Tombstone lets Hei go,
walking around his desk. Hei was about to try and attack again
after catching his breath, though his body was still
       regenerating his other injuries.
Tombstone sits down as Hei jumps on what was left of the desk,
and takes out another knife. Tombstone looks up at him, not
flinching at all. Before Hei could bring the knife down on him,
police officers run into the room, pointing their guns at Hei.
Tombstone: Officers... You're just in time... This deranged man
has tresspassed on my property, and assaulted my employees, and
was about to kill me. He says to them. Given the situation, the
police pretty much only saw Hei as the threat, not seeing
Tombstone as a threat since he was sitting his chair while Hei
was standing on a broken desk getting ready to attack. It didn't
take long for Hei to realize he'd been played by Tombstone.
Given Hei's reputation, the police officers shot at him on
sight, and it forced Hei to dodge to the side as the cops shoot
at him. However, a bullet manages to pierce through his ankle
when he jumped away, and the cops also hit him in the shoulder
as well (This was before Hei could manipulate magnetic fields to
stop bullets). It was at this point that Hei realized that the
cops had holy silver bullets, as the bullets in his leg and
shoulder were causing far more damage to him than they should
have. After getting hit twice, he stumbles toward the window and
jumps out the window, taking one last shot in the shoulder
again, barely missing his lung as he tries to get away as he
realized he was in a losing battle for the first time in a very
       long time.
After falling out the window, Hei uses his grappling line to use
a balcony to swing from, in which he lands in the ally, and
starts running away as the cops call for backup. Hei couldn't
teleport away currently, given that the silver was interrupting
his concentration. Since the holy silver was still in his body,
he was having trouble regenerating, as holy silver was one of
Hei's biggest weaknesses as a Darkfire vampire with some demonic
ability back during that time period.
It takes Hei almost an hour to make it back to one of his bases,
specifically the one where he knew Drake was hiding out. Drake
looked over as he walked in, and notices Hei's wounds still
bleeding. This was also a time when Drake was still in his bone
dragon form, before he got his human form. Drake had been laying
on the floor, waiting for Hei to come back as he usually did.
Drake: Holy ****! What the hell happened?! He says in a bit of a
panic as he sees the terrible condition Hei is in.
Hei collapses on the floor, his strength mostly gone after
having spent the last hour trying not to pass out from the
silver that was burning his leg and shoulder. Drake rushes over
and puts Hei on his back.
Drake: Come on, man! Wake the hell up! He says as he tries to
       shake and get Hei awake.
Hei: Get us out of here... The police will track me here. Scorch
the place. He says weakly, almost unable to stay conscious at
this point as he had lost a lot of blood and wasn't
       regenerating.
Drake sighs and flies up, firing intense fire blasts to blast
the ceiling. Since this was Hei's contingency if his base were
ever compromised, Hei had planted explosives which start going
off as Drake starts breathing fire upward and the fire starts
spreading outward as he flies up. As the small building quickly
catches fire, Drake flies up into the sky and lets loose one
last large fireball from his dragon breath, which explodes in
the building and starts to bring the place down as it starts
burning from the inside. Since Hei usually didn't leave much
lying around, there wouldn't be much to find, but that didn't
mean Hei wasn't careful with his contingency plans. It was clear
to Hei before he completely lost consciousness that he had lost
this round. . However, Hei was more concerned with his own
survival currently, and loses consciousness as Drake flies with
       Hei unconscious on his back.
       Part 2: Hei's Plan
Hei's meeting with Tombstone Theme: Baldo Sadoru (
  HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_-5UBp3CJno&list=PLE5DEFB24AB2E00B0&index=36)
It had been a week since Hei had been beaten in a fight with
Tombstone, something no one but Tombstone himself knew as no one
else had witnessed their fight and Tombstone himself had told no
one about the fight yet. Since Hei had been shot pretty badly,
Tombstone had held off on giving Hei's information to the police
and press, as Tombstone was confident that Hei would take his
job offer when Hei recovered. Tombstone was working in his
office when he notices a rat in the corner. However, this little
black rat was not a normal rat, but one of black flames hiding
       in the shadows.
Tombstone goes back to his work, not trying to look suspicious.
Tombstone: I take it you've recovered finally. He says quietly
to the rat, knowing it was one of Hei's dark flame familiars.
Hei: I have. We need to talk business. Meet me in the warehouse
on 5th after hours, the one your gang uses to smuggle drugs.
Come alone and we can talk freely. But if you don't, then I will
leave. This needs to be just you and me... I want a rematch. If
I lose this time, I'm all yours. If not, then you leave me and
       my companions alone.
       Tombstone: What time?
Hei: Let's say... about 1am. That should be long after they've
left for the night. We'll talk more then. He says as the
familiar finds a hole in the wall and appears to act like a
normal rat as it goes into the wall. once inside the wall, Hei's
       rat disappears.
Tombstone goes back to what he was doing silently, not wanting
to draw attention in case anyone was watching him.
       Later that night...
It was just before 1am, and Tombstone had secretly gone to the
meeting place. Since the warehouse was owned by one of the
corporations he controlled, he was able to get inside without
any problems. However, Tombstone was suspicious, since he was
       cautious by nature.
After going inside, Hei was standing in the main room, at the
small table. The only notable thing was that Hei had a file on
       the table.
Tombstone: So... You wanted to talk business, Kindron? Or I
suppose I should call you Hei?
Hei: I prefer Hei. It's more my name than my old name these
days.He says as he slides the file over to Tombstone. Tombstone
takes it suspiciously and looks it over. Tombstone realized
quickly that it was a file on one of his competitors, another
mob boss of a smaller gang.
Tombstone: What is this? What does this have to do with fighting
me? He says as he looks at Hei.
Hei: Absolutely nothing. He says simply. I just wanted to make
sure he got pictures of you holding the file. He says as he
       points up.
Tombstone looks up, noticing a man in a cloak and mask on the
ceiling, who had a camera on him taking pictures. He looks to
Hei angrily. Tombstone: What is this?
Hei: Payback. He says, once again staying simple.
Tombstone: What exactly is this supposed to prove? He says as he
       looks at the file.
Hei: I take it you didn't watch the news today? A shame... You
didn't see how this man was brutally murdered by the Black
Reaper for being a mob boss and how they are desperately trying
to figure out who ordered the man's execution like so many
others in your organization. He says to Tombstone.
Tombstone throws the file at Hei. Tombstone: So you're planning
to frame me for this? Is that it? You remember our last physical
encounter and what I said I'd do to you and your cousin if you
       disobeyed me! He says angrily.
Hei: Oh I remember. And this isn't about fighting you.
Wolf Spider comes down on a web, hanging upside down, and looks
at Tombstone. Wolf Spider: I'm not one to take sides usually...
But after Hei told me his plan, I had to join in. I wanted to
see the look on your dumb face. He says with a chuckle.
Hei: You see... I was going to threaten you by taking something
you care about. And that's what I hold in my hand now. It's hard
since you don't care about anyone... I honestly thought about
kidnapping that man, Hammerhead, but I imagine you probably
don't place much value in the life of your employees, especially
if they could out you to save themselves... And you have no
girlfriends, wives or kids for me to take hostage... So I had to
improvise. He says as he grabs the file. He moves out of the
shadow, grabbing the file and putting it together again.
However, stepping out of the shadow revealed he wasn't wearing
gloves, something he almost never did while in his Black Reaper
outfit. He puts the file in a plastic evidence bag which had
special dust for revealing finger prints.
Tombstone: So what is it you're planning to do?
Hei: It's simple... You "ordered" the death of your rival, and
I'm going to make sure the world knows it. The pictures will
prove we met about the man in question, and both our
fingerprints will be on this file for them to identify.
Tombstone: You realize that you're implicated as working for me
if this gets out? He says to Hei. Those pictures will have you
in them too, and you can only implicate me as long as your
finger prints are on that file.
Hei: Of course. My identity will suffer, but honestly, it's par
for the course at this point since everyone already hates the
Black Reaper and thinks he's a senseless murderer. Why do you
think I wear a mask? He says as he holds the bag with the file
in it, sealing the bag. You, on the other hand, will have been
revealed to be ordering the death of a mob boss and your
competition. That's how I'm going to take what you value most,
your own reputation as a law-abiding businessman, from you. Your
image will be ruined and the world will know you're the Big Man
       of Crime when I'm done.
Wolf Spider: Let's just say we got some more evidence lined up
just in case this isn't enough... But it should be once we
present it. It will be hard to ignore how we have pictures of
the meeting before hand of you and how both your fingerprints
are on this file. He says, hanging from his webs upside down
       still.
Hei: So here's the deal... You come after me, Drake, Raven or
any of my associates, I'll make sure the police get every ounce
of damning information to ruin your reputation. I got some
interesting things from your people I've killed already, but
I've kept that information to myself.
Tombstone: You can't expect to keep me in jail or something. You
know I can pay any lawyer I want, and I can own any courtroom
       with a few simple calls.
Hei: True... You'll probably never see a prison cell... But your
precious reputation will forever be destroyed. Everyone will
call you the Big Man instead of the businessman you pretend to
be. Your operation will suffer from your secret getting out, and
you'll never be able to go outside without being watched by the
government. Your crime group will be crippled, and you won't be
able to show your face in public. Sure you could out me as the
Black Reaper, but at that point, I'll be gone and have assumed a
new identity, maybe undergone an appearance change. I'm quite
       good at disappearing. He explains.
Tombstone: So... You weren't planning for that rematch to decide
things... He says in thought as he listens to Hei explain
       things.
Hei sighs. Hei: I hate to admit it, but I can't beat you yet.
You were stronger than I thought... But that doesn't mean I'm
giving up. I will kill you myself for threatening me and my
family. Once I'm ready. But before I do, I'm going to hold what
you care about over your head just as you tried to hold it over
me. So... consider this your warning. Stay away from Raven and
keep everything to yourself. Do that and I'll do the same.
Tombstone: So... You want me to stay away from you while you
figure out how to beat me? What makes you think I'll do that?
Hei: I'm sure you're going to try and figure out a way to kill
me as well. Your kind is pretty predictable. And I'm okay with
it. I'll even tell you, you want holy silver if you want to hurt
me more easily because I know you're going to figure that out
       anyway.
Tombstone: You realize that I will have my people hunt you down,
and I will kill you for this. NO one pulls stunts on this on
       me!
Hei: Let them try. As long as you keep my information to
yourself, I'll keep my information to myself and we can keep
going on trying to kill each other like proper psychopaths. As
long as you do your part, we keep our knowledge of each other's
identities secret. He says as he throws his grapple line on the
       ceiling rafters.
Tombstone sighs as he adjusts his tie. Tombstone: Fine... The
girl is safe for now. But you on the other hand, I will hunt you
down, Kindron Darkfire II. And you know I won't stop ever. You
will be killed even if I have to do it myself.
Hei: Let this be a warning... You don't want to back me into a
corner... Because you've now seen that I can be quite creative
when finding ways to hurt you. He says before zipping away. Wolf
Spider uses his webs to swing up into the rafters and they both
exit through a window in the rafters that was open.
Tombstone looks as they get away. Tombstone: Kindron Darkfire...
You're smarter than you look. I shouldn't be surprised, but I
didn't think someone like you could be so underhanded... He
smiles. I might actually start respecting you if I didn't have
to kill you. I still think you'd be an invaluable resource to
me. He says, more to himself at this point.
Meanwhile, outside, Hei and Wolf Spider get to a nearby rooftop.
Wolf Spider: No police, no gangs... Guess he did come alone.
Hei: Of course. His reputation was too important to him. If a
gang shootout happened at the place, or the police had shown up,
it would have probably outed him as the Big Man or led to him
being investigated, which he doesn't want to happen.
Wolf Spider: Well... I'll make sure you get the pics once
they're done. I get the feeling we're gonna have some good
pictures. He says with a laugh as he puts the camera away and
       starts swinging away.
Hei: Alright. He says simply. He looks outward as he spreads his
       vampire wings and flies away.
Hei wasn't about to give up, but it was clear Tombstone wasn't
someone he was going to beat with strength alone. And Hei was
ready to do what he had to do, even if it meant doing something
he wouldn't normally do, in order to protect his family from
       Tombstone.
       End.
