The first person who seemed to be the leader, comes up. They
were all wearing raggy clothes, looking like something from 50s.
Person: The war... Do you guys not know about the war?
King: Let's just say... We're not from around here.
Person: But. It was THE war of all wars... The whole world was
involved. He says curiously.
Another of the people present look at V and King curiously.
Second Person: You think they're monsters mutated by radiation?
Maybe they're not that old and they were just created by
radioactive mutation. Might explain why they can fall from the
sky without parachutes.
Person: Dammit... That's not how radiation poisoning works,
Dmitri! I don't care about rumors that radiation gives you super
powers or something. That's a myth. All it does is kill people.

V: Okay, we're not monsters or anything related to the
radiation. Long story short, we were at one place and we ended
up here. So let's start with the basics: who f*cked up this
time?

Person: Honestly... I'd say everyone's to blame... But if you
want someone to pin it on, most people usually blame Hitler. He
says in thought. The group were still suspicious, leaving their
"leader" to talk to King and V.

Person: Um... It should be what...
Dmitri: If we count the days right, it should be 2020 right?
Person: I think that's right.
King: Hold on... Are you telling me Hitler is still alive?
Person: Not anymore... He died some time ago. If I recall, it
was when Berlin was bombed back in 1956? I think? Details are a
little sketchy, but that's the rumor we hear.

V: Okay, so after Hitler was defeated, all that was left was the
States and Japan. But the States bombed Japan twice which ended
the war. There's still debate about the tactic to this day but
after that, it goes to the Cold War between Russia and the
States along with the whole communism and capitalism thing.
Wait... did something go wrong in that timeline?

The person looks at V questioningly. Person: Wait... What are
you talking about? Russia bombed Japan. The US was too busy
trying to bomb Germany. And what's the Cold War?
King: Okay... We remember events differently. Let's just take it
from the top. Let's start with Hitler and go from there.
Person: Alright... Hitler came to power and started invading
other countries. Most of Europe sucked into it, and parts of
Asia. The war was a losing battle for the Allies, the side that
was trying to stop Hitler and his dictator group, the Axis
powers. Then the US got involved. They proposed the Normandy
invasion, but before they could attempt the invasion, London was
bombed by Hitler while they were rallying their forces. Hitler's
crew came up with a new weapon, the Zerstörungsrakete, or
"missile of destruction" and obliterated London. It didn't take
the US long to come up with their own missile, what they called
the Atomic Bomb, and then started bombing back. Germany and the
US started producing more missiles as did Germany. The two kept
bombing each other, until eventually other countries got hold of
the US and Germany's schematics. Eventually other countries
started building their own versions of the super bombs. They
started taking sides or bombing both the US and Germany just to
make the war end. The US became the central country of the
Allies power after London's obliteration, and Germany was the
Axis powers center. However, the war didn't end with just a few
bombs... Everyone started bombing each other, and after quite a
few years, the war stopped.... Not because anyone surrendered,
but because there was almost no one left to build more bombs and
hardly anyone left to fight it. The last TV broadcast, according
to my father, was in 1964, and simply said that there weren't
enough people left to continue the war, so the war had ended in
a stalemate. All the major cities in the world are probably dust
at this point. There's rumors that certain small communities
have come up in certain areas, but overall, most of the cities
are like that one down there. Mostly just radioactive dust. Most
of us are living on nature just trying to survive while we try
to locate resources.

V: Well... crap. This is one of those annoying alternate what
ifs kind of deal. It's... pretty scary. Surprised that there's
no one trying to rebuild society or something. I know you
mention small communities but there's usually some big shot
trying to rebuild or profit out of other people's misery.

Person: Problem is that most people don't know how to rebuild.
People are trying, but it requires a lot of skills to rebuild
and people who know how to use those skills. The best we have is
small farming communities out in the plains where some people
are able to try and get food if they have something to offer,
but the only "big shots" are what few people who have tried to
go out and search for resources... And certain gangs that have
banded together to kill people to take what they have. But
people are so few these days that it's almost impossible to find
more than a few people if you travel city to city. I don't think
I've heard of any societies of more than about 30 people... And
that's if you believe the rumors that there's supposedly a US
camp where the military general is supposedly trying to organize
what little people are left.

V: Damn. Earlier, your friend mentioned something about
mutations. Are people actually getting mutated or are they also
rumors?
