Multi-Dimension Being Profile: Xeles The Scarlet King
By: Zorbak the Ebil Moglin Date: April 8, 2020, 7:06 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
"Over an eternity I've seen many beings think they own the
Dark... But one look at me and they always realize their folly.
Because I AM the Dark." - Xeles, the God of Darkness
"You think Lucifer scares you? You think the dark Voodoo gods
are scary? Then gaze upon me... And I promise you will know true
fear. Even the fearless cannot help themselves in my presence."
"I am the Dark... Every shadow that every being has hid from
since the beginning of time. I have been every evil whisper
every race has ever heard from the Dark."
"Why do you funny little people always try to use light against
me? It's not able to hurt me... It's just slightly
uncomfortable."
"Fear...radiates from you. It's beautiful, but not yet finished.
I'll be happy to make your fear into an a special artwork for my
home."
"Many have tried to harness the power of the Shadow Realm... But
there are two types of people I always encounter when they meet
me in their mortal worlds. There are those foolish enough to try
and kill me to take my place... And those smart enough to kneel
before me and pledge themselves to the Dark, and the cause of
chaos."
"It is said that the Deep Shadow Realm is a place even the death
wraiths are scared to go... It's said that those that have gone
there have gone mad... At least, the few that came back.
Something lives in the Deep Shadow Realm... Something evil. And
something worse than just about any enemy you can imagine. Even
Toranoraos doesn't like talking about it." - A traveler of the
shadow realm about Xeles and the Deep Shadow Realm
"Whatever you do... You must NEVER access the Whispering
Darkness... Even if you see it used, do NOT try to absorb it.
Even a darkness user will be driven mad by it. That darkness
will drive you insane as it's done to many others. Many
supernatural beings have tried, almost all have failed. Not even
Lucifer compares to what you would be tapping into. You do NOT
want to start tapping into the entity that creates that darkness
or you will be consumed by it. I don't care how good of a
darkness user you are... I've seen darkness users reduced to a
mumbling mess that can't even be in a dark room anymore. Even a
Darkfire cannot hope to even try to use evil that strong." -
London Qrow Darkfire warning Kendrix about the source of
darkness in the Deep Shadow Realm
"Never make deals with dark spirits... Ever. You'll suffer a
fate worse than hell. Those that don't read the fine print? They
go to the Hell of Souls... No... Not HALL of souls. The HELL of
souls. It's like the Shadow Realm version of hell. If the Hall
of Souls is like Shadow Realm heaven, then the Hell of Souls is
like Shadow Realm hell. When there, souls aren't just tortured,
but they are farmed for their spirit and emotional energy. The
souls are constantly squeezed like squeezing juice from a lemon.
And those are the ones not being devoured over and over again by
dark spirits since your soul doesn't get destroyed while it's in
the Hell of Souls. It's not like hell where you're just being
tortured... Souls are a farm to dark spirits, and the torture
there is worse than hell. A farm of pain, energy and emotion.
You see people come back to life and escape hell? That doesn't
happen in the Hell of Souls unless the local deity allows it...
Well... I guess it's not that different. It's basically hell,
but it does sometimes make hell look weak in comparison. Imagine
your very life force as a spirit being constantly taken from you
whether it's squeezed out or digested out when you're devoured
by a dark spirit. That's the life of those that end up there.
And unlike hell, those that don't deserve to be there can end up
there..." - Qrow talking about the Hell of Souls, Xeles's own
place where dark spirits bring souls they take
"The dark creatures you should worry about aren't the ones that
hide in the shadows... It's the ones that aren't afraid of the
light that you should truly fear." - Kuroshi Kagema
Name: Xeles "The Scarlet King"
Other Nicknames: The Dark, God of Evil, God of the Shadow Realm,
Lord of Dark Spirits, God of the Dark Arts, Son of Chaos
Age: Older than time
Species: Dark Primordial Deity of the Shadow Realm
Gender: Male
Hunter Group/Team: Shadow Realm
Weapons:
- None
Primordial God Abilities:
- God of Darkness: Xeles is perhaps one of the oldest primordial
deities alongside Toranoraos, second only to Chaos. Xeles is the
most powerful deity in the Shadow Realm, with the only deity
that can fight him to a standstill being Toranoraos. In his full
power, Xeles is extremely powerful, and a pure essence of
primordial darkness. Xeles is the major source of darkness and
the one who spawned the dark spirits thanks to his massive power
eventually spawning off into smaller beings that gained their
own being. Xeles is a literal incarnation of primordial
darkness, similar to Toranoraos, but Xeles is the incarnation of
the negative side of darkness while Toranoaros is more of a
positive side of the dark. In the Shadow Realm, Toranoraos is
perhaps the only person who can match his power, but when in the
human world, Xeles always takes a weak mortal form that
typically is fairly easy to kill since he cannot use most of his
power while in the mortal realm. He also cannot intervene
directly, so he rarely ever shows up in the mortal realm,
usually relying on his servant to conduct his business. Usually,
the only time Xeles ever shows up in the mortal realm is to
check on how his servant is doing and to interact with people
seeking the power of the Shadow Realm so that they don't venture
too deep into it and go crazy from the sheer power of his
presence. It is very rare for anyone to ever make it that deep
into the Shadow Realm though without getting torn apart or
devoured by dark spirits. Typically, the best way to avoid Xeles
is to just avoid the Deep Shadow Realm, as many dark beings do.
- Overwhelming Chaotic Presence: Xeles's presence is a weapon
unto itself when Xeles is in the Shadow Realm. When unstrained
in the shadow realm, anywhere that does not contain Toranoaros's
presence contains Xeles's presence (primarily in the Deep Shadow
Realm), and Xeles's presence can be very dangerous. Xeles's
presence covers the entirety of the Deep Shadow Realm, with only
Toranoaroas's presence keeping his presence from spreading to
the rest of the Shadow Realm and into the living world. Xeles's
presence is so powerful and chaotic, that it is able to
overwhelm almost anyone and turn them to completely madness.
Those that have experienced his presence in the shadow realm
have often been reduced to a mumbling mess, while some have gone
crazy and turned into serial killers. This is partially why it's
imperative that most never go into the deep shadow realm, due to
Xeles having such a strong presence. Even dark arts users that
utilize the shadow realm's power refuse to access the Deep
Shadow Realm, due to Xeles's presence. While very few know who
Xeles is, most people know the taboo for accessing that part of
the Shadow Realm usually means tapping into a dark entity there
that can drive one insane. This even affects those with
fearlessness abilities and people with abilities to suppress or
conquer fear, as this power is a deity level presence that can
bypass immunities to fear. Typically, the way to avoid this is
to not venture into the Deep Shadow Realm, as Xeles's presence
is only that strong in the Deep Shadow Realm. His human form has
a similar presence, but not nearly strong enough to drive
someone insane. For the most part, avoiding the Deep Shadow
Realm is the way to avoid Xeles, and even Xeles himself tries to
keep people from venturing that far into the Shadow Realm.
Typically Xeles will visit people who are seeking to venture
into the shadow realm, as a way to interact with people so they
don't try to go into that part of the Shadow Realm, since he
prefers his servants to not have been in contact with his
presence if they aren't dark spirits. Dark spirits are the only
creatures not affected by his presence, due to them all
technically being spawns of his presence.
- Multi-Dimensional Dark God: Just like Toranoraos, Xeles is a
deity that can exist in multiple dimensions of space and time at
once. He is a multi-dimensional deity that can access almost
every universe and timeline, thanks to him being a god. Xeles is
strong enough to have a presence in every universe and timeline,
just like Toranoraos, and often is anywhere Toranoraos can be
found. While incarnations of himself can be killed, he can
easily respawn his incarnations if needed. All of his
incarnations are connected to him in the Deep Shadow Realm, no
matter which universe or timeline he is in. This makes
eliminating him completely impossible unless one is somehow able
to kill him in the Deep Shadow Realm (which is nearly impossible
for anyone other than Toranoraos). This ability may sound
impressive, but it is important to note that Xeles cannot put
his entire presence into the living world, and can only manifest
his presences into weaker human forms that hold back most of his
power. Typically, he is usually at a point where he is able to
be destroyed by stronger deity level opponents since he doesn't
manifest with his full abilities and powers, and this doesn't
change no matter what universe he's in. He also only typically
has one existence per universe and one per timeline. Every
existence he has is connected to him, and that presence is a
part of him. When his presence is killed in a universe, he does
feel it and know it happens, which does put some metal strain on
him, though most of the time one incarnation dying isn't a big
deal to him.
- Dark God Immortal Darkness: Xeles, as the dark god of the
shadow realm, is almost impossible to permanently kill. Many
have tried to kill Xeles, but almost no one has the means to do
so. Typically, the only person who might have that power is
Toranoraos, as even the first generation Death lacks the power
to kill Xeles. This means that even the death scythes, soul
swords and zanpakutos of creatures of death are unable to kill
Xeles. Anytime he is "killed," Xeles simply reforms from the
darkness of the Deep Shadow Realm, and eventually is able to go
back to what he was doing before he "died." While his mortal
forms can be killed, his being cannot be permanently destroyed
by any known means, though that doesn't mean that there are no
ways to kill him. In order to even have a chance of permanently
killing him, one would have to kill his true form in the Deep
Shadow Realm, which would require someone who wouldn't be driven
made by Xeles's chaotic presence. However, if one were to kill
Xeles, then they would become the new dark god of the Shadow
Realm, effectively taking his place. Because the Shadow Realm
always needs balance as much as any other part of the
multiverse, Xeles's presence must always be balanced as
Toranoraos's opposite. Similar to how there must always be an
incarnation of Death and Toranoraos, Xeles is similarly required
to balance the negative and positive sides of the Shadow Realm,
and if he is killed, then the person who kills him would
essentially become the new Xeles in the Deep Shadow Realm, for
better or worse.
- Dark God Time/Space Disconnection: Xeles is not affected by
time or space manipulation abilities, specifically time stops or
time travel powers in any way. Being disconnected from time and
space, Xeles is not affected by changes in time, or changes in
space. This means that things like time stops, time reversals,
or even time acceleration powers have no real effect on Xeles,
and things like spacial distortion, spacial movement, or spacial
separation have no effect on Xeles due to him being disconnected
from space and time. This is fairly standard for deities,
especially primordial deities who existed before space and time
were material things, and they usually do are not bound by these
forces. If a timeline shift does happen, the information of the
time shift and what is different is immediately known to Xeles,
specifically in the form of who or what is changing time and
it's effects on him specifically. If someone changes time, he
will exist in both timelines (the old timeline and new one
created from the time travel). When it comes to spacial movement
or distortion, Xeles is able to adjust to any distortion,
movement or separation spacial energies can affect him with.
This combination also makes Xeles immune to almost any form of
space-time distortion powers, in which he cannot be hurt or
affected by things like dimension cutter attacks. For the most
part, Xeles is not able to be hurt by time or space, though that
doesn't mean that he's completely invulnerable, since he can
still be damaged like a normal being when in some kind of
solidified form (usually best to hurt him in his human form).
- Source of the Whispering Darkness: The dark spirits with the
most dangerous darkness is easily the whispering darkness some
more advanced dark spirits use. One example is Kuroshi Kagema in
the London Universe, who is able to tap this darkness. Most
people do not know that Xeles is the very source of this
darkness, and those that draw on it are literally drawing on his
power to use it. This is a very powerful darkness that has a
strong voice and always eventually sways someone to evil. Most
users that use this effectively are dark spirits, born of
Xeles's presence. Almost no one, including death wraiths, have
tapped into this darkness without going insane. The major aspect
of this darkness, beyond it being more powerful than even the
strongest forms of darkness (for the most part), is the fact
that anyone, even darkness users that try to absorb it, will go
insane from the pure evil that inhabits this dark power. Xeles
is a being of pure chaos, and the very source of this darkness.
Typically only those that he allows to can draw upon this
darkness, and typically very few can actually handle the evil of
this darkness. Typically, this darkness, when used in battle,
can be be still blocked with other forms of powerful enough
darkness, though typically this darkness overpowers most other
forms of darkness. If one wants to avoid the evil effects, they
must take care never to absorb this darkness, as absorbing it
can cause temporary or permanent insanity depending on the
person. Other than the evil energy and the whispers that come
from Xeles's being, this is more just a much stronger form of
evil darkness that uses the negative side of darkness as a
whole.
- Dark God Darkness of Death: Xeles, being an embodiment of the
negative aspects of darkness, also inhabits the power of death
in his darkness, in much a different way than Toranoraos does.
While Toranoaros opted for using his powers of death to give
places to those who have no place in death, Xeles opted to put
himself as someone who would like the hell to Toranoraos'
heaven, and Xeles became more like a god of death that took
souls that didn't belong so he could torture the souls and let
his dark spirits torture souls he puts into his special
collection of souls known as the "Hell of Souls", as a counter
to Toranoraos' Hall of Souls. However, Xeles's power of death
extends from his darkness being, as Xeles is essentially
darkness incarnate. This is also a major weapon that he can use,
in that all of his shadows, including the whispering darkness
his presence generates, and all of his darkness abilities
incorporate this power. This gives his darkness the same powers
as death energy, in which he can rot living things with this
darkness, as well as do more damage to living beings thanks to
this. This is also something he can empower his dark spirits
with, just as Toranoraos's darkness of death empowers his death
wraiths. Overall, this is more just a passive enhancement of the
darkness that makes up his being, rather than being a separate
power.
- Dark God Corrupted Deathly Light Manipulation: Being a god of
darkness, Xeles has abilities that allow him to manipulate
light, with his major one being his darkness being able to
create corrupted light that he can manipulate using his
darkness. However, his corrupted light is not just normal
corrupted light, but is corrupted by his mere presence. Overall,
using light is pretty much useless on Xeles, as he has developed
his presence to be able to corrupt almost any kind of
supernatural light using his dark godly presence. This presence
has traces of his whispering darkness, as well as his
death-based darkness, which uses his godly darkness from his
presence to make a much stronger corrupted light that can
corrupt almost any light, including the light of deities. For
the most part, Xeles's corrupted light is manipulated just like
any other light, except that he cannot do things like create
light-based illusions, and he cannot use the reflective
properties of light due to the darkness removing most of the
reflective ability of the light. Typically, while this is more
powerful than most other corrupted lights and is a natural power
for Xeles, it is still dodgable like any corrupted light, and if
one doesn't use light against him, then Xeles won't be able to
corrupt their light abilities. While Xeles can create corrupted
light around him, it still works just like any other corrupted
light, just more powerful than normal.
- Dark God Shapeshift: Just like many gods, Xeles can take other
forms. He is able to take almost any form that he chooses, with
his most preferred form being a human form he takes when on
earth. He is able to take any form though, from animals to even
taking the form of other races. He is able to take the form just
about any living race, which is usually used for interacting
with any race that he is trying to interact with. For example,
he usually takes a human form when interacting with humans, but
can take the form of animals as well if he chooses while on
earth. If he were to appear on a planet with a different race,
he'd be able to appear to them as their own race. This even
hides most of his presence, making it so he doesn't hurt others
with his shadow presence. He very rarely will appear as
dangerous monsters, usually only if someone challenges him to a
fight, he may take certain battle forms of very powerful races
that may have certain advantages. However, it is worth noting
that while in these forms, he is usually in the mortal realm,
and he doesn't have the same power in the mortal realm that he
has in the Deep Shadow Realm. His power is usually limited by
whatever race he becomes, such as having the limits of a human
body to appear as a human, and his anatomy changes to fit any
creature he becomes, giving him the same weaknesses as certain
mortals. He also has to use supernatural power to change his
form, so he cannot keep changing his form endless, since his
power is highly restricted in the living world. When in the
living world, he can use this in battle to change into dangerous
monsters, but usually can only change forms once every five
rounds with his power restriction, which can give some opponents
enough time to adapt to whatever form he has taken.
- Dark God Form Form Adaption: When Xeles takes a form, he also
gains that forms anatomy and abilities. For example, as a human,
he could use the form of a mana user, and could not only gain
the anatomy of a mana user, but the abilities as well. Xeles is
able to take almost any form due to his godly power and
knowledge, and can gain abilites of the forms he is in. Xeles
mostly uses this to interact with people, and rarely fights in
these forms, but he can use them mostly for existing in places
some couldn't exist in. For example, he could take the form of a
gas creature from a gas giant world that is able to exist on
planets with no solid surface, or he could take specific planets
creatures forms to be able to survive on planets that require
specific specific means to survive. On earth, Xeles can take the
form of any supernatural creature, including some aliens. Aside
from some unique types of creatures, many aliens mostly have
similar aspects to physiology that humans do in the aspect that
most races need air and some kind of atmosphere to survive. It
is also worth noting that by gaining the anatomy of a creature,
he is able to be killed in a mortal form, even though he can
remanifest himself. Typically, Xeles takes human form, since it
is a very adaptable race, but sometimes will use races like
vampires and werewolves against some opponents, and can even
take death wraith, soul reaper or grim reaper form. However,
just because he can gain the abilities of a race doesn't mean he
can use them effectively. For example, he could take the form of
a death wraith, but wouldn't be able to call a soul sword that
would last beyond when he changes his form again, or he could
gain the abilities of a mana or magic user, but not be able to
use certain magics. He also cannot use certain holy abilities,
since he is a god of darkness, but he can to a small extent. Any
form he is in, he gains both the strengths and weaknesses of the
race he is.
- Dark God Time/Space Shadow Travel: Just like most
supernaturals, Xeles can travel almost anywhere in the
multiverse. Not only does his Hell of Souls connect to every
universe just as Toranoaroas's Hall of Souls does, but Xeles has
the ability to use his dark presence to move around using shadow
travel. Unlike normal beings that can only use normal shadows
though, Xeles is able to tap into the Shadow Realm from
literally anywhere, even during a flashbang, due to his very
presence being darkness. Xeles can travel anywhere in the
multi-verse, whether it is through time or space, and can go
almost anywhere he desires. Unlike most people who cannot travel
between universes or through time, Xeles is able to travel
between universe, and even sometimes will spend time in the
space between universes where other allies of his might lie (as
many creatures that live in the dark space between dimensions
are typically people who accept him as their deity since he
often grants them dark power). However, Xeles is able to move
through time as well, in which he can travel through time
freely. When traveling through time, he can send his thoughts
through time to himself in another timeline, or he can
physically travel, though usually he will just rely on his godly
senses when worrying about other timelines. This travel mostly
is just for getting around, and the only real thing to note
compared to other supernatural teleportations is that Xeles can
travel between dimensions, timelines and can travel from
literally anywhere by just using his presence as a catalyst.
- Dark Godly Shadow Telekinesis: As a deity level opponent,
Xeles has his own brand of telekinesis. This telekinesis uses
shadows, in which he can use shadows to control objects or
affect people's movement using this power. This power works like
a telekinesis ability, except that the telekinesis relies on the
use of shadows to control an object. As long as the shadows are
in contact with the object, then Xeles can affect the object.
This is useful for picking up or stopping projectiles, and can
be used on almost anything with enough concentration. This skill
can also be used on people to stop, throw or even try to
manipulate their movement, as long as Xeles has the
concentration. This skill can even fire telekinetic blasts of
shadows, in which Xeles learned certain psychic style abilities
by watching how certain races like celestians use their
telekinesis power. When using telekinetic blasts, Xeles can do
things like firing blasts of telekinetic energy, such as firing
simple blasts or creating shockwaves around him to blast groups
of opponents back. While a useful skill though, this does
require concentration, and if used on a person to stop or
control their movement, then they can resist if they have enough
physical force to overpower the telekinesis. It is also possible
to not be grabbed by telekinesis if one can move fast enough
that they cannot be pinned down, as moving faster than the power
can let someone completely avoid this power. If caught in this
power though, the best way to get free is to attack Xeles, since
Xeles does require concentration to use this power.
- Dark God Dark Arts Granting/Removal: Similar to the most
advanced dark arts users, Xeles is able to grant dark arts
abilities to almost anyone that can recieve a dark nature
enhancement. This is one of the reasons he's known as a god of
the dark arts, as some theorize that he has a stronger
connection to the dark arts than anyone in the multiverse. Xeles
is able to use this connection to his advantage. Those that want
to use the dark arts, he can empower them with some darkness
from the Shadow Realm to give them the ability to call on the
dark arts. Typically, he will not give the deep shadow realm
darkness to mortals, as most people go crazy from trying to
wield it. However, what darkness he grants can empower those
that want to use the dark arts, and Xeles can use that to his
advantage. He is also able to take away someone's dark arts
abilities he has granted, similar to how some dark arts users
are able to. Usually he will take the dark arts he grants away
when the person dies, or if the person becomes foolish enough to
try and use the dark arts against Xeles. This power is able to
be used on anyone willing to accept the enhancement, though the
user has to willingly accept being enhanced before they can take
this power (meaning it can't be forced onto someone). And when
removing this power, typically it doesn't hurt the user, but
just removes any dark arts that Xeles has bestowed. This only
works on dark arts that have been bestowed by Xeles, and
typically Xeles's dark arts bestowal is usuable by just about
anyone able to recieve a dark nature enhancement. The user's of
his dark arts may gain specific dark arts, or unique ones
depending on the user, but overall the dark arts that are
granted belong to the user until called back by Xeles. It is
also worth noting that Xeles uses this power by physical touch,
whether it's bestowing or removing dark arts abilities.
- Dark God Dark Arts Growth/Empowerment: Unlike other dark arts
users that will reabsorb dark arts they grant, Xeles doesn't
need to do this. Instead, Xeles simply grows stronger as those
he grants dark arts to grow stronger, due to him being connected
to the dark arts he grants those that serve him. This power not
only grants him stronger dark arts as the user gets stronger
with dark arts, but Xeles is able to gain the dark arts of
anyone he has empowered, even unique dark arts. Unlike other
dark arts users, Xeles doesn't need any contact or any power to
absorb the dark arts to gain power, but simply just needs to
exist for this power to allow him to grow stronger from dark
arts users advancing in power and growing stronger. This is a
major reason that Xeles bestows dark arts on others, and is one
of the reasons he's known as a god of the dark arts. Xeles knows
almost all there is to know about the dark arts, as he created
the base power that spawned most of the dark arts that are used
in the multiverse. As a result, Xeles is constantly growing in
power without having to do anything, though it's hard for a god
to "grow in power" in the traditional sense. This is more about
gaining new dark arts than raw power, as Xeles enjoys seeing how
creative mortals can get with dark arts, mostly so he can gain
those arts and bestow them on his dark spirits. This power,
however, only applies to those that use dark arts, and doesn't
do any damage to anyone using dark arts. This is more just a
passive power that makes Xeles grow in dark arts power and
knowledge simply by having people practicing the dark arts.
- Dark God Shadow Removal, Absorption, and Manipulation: This is
a basic art that Xeles can use, in which he is able to take
living people or creature's shadows. To do this, he simply needs
to grab the shadow, peel it from the surface it is on, and then
tear it from it's host. Once he gains this shadow, he is able to
do two major things with the shadows. The first is that he can
absorb it, similar to how some dark arts users absorb shadows to
gain their combat and some of their supernatural abilities. This
method of absorbing shadows has let him learn a lot of combat
styles from people across the multiverse, and lets him use this
power to copy powers to a small degree. The other use (and the
one he typically uses this for) is that he can give control and
manipulate these shadows. When controlling these shadows, he is
able to manipulate them as he desires, and will manipulate them
to do what he wants. This could be as simple as having them
fight his enemies, or he may choose to take them back to the
Shadow Realm and give them a place if he opts to want to use the
shadows for his dark spirits to grow stronger. Just like other
users of this skill, Xeles doesn't hurt a user per se, but once
removed, the shadow no longer shows up on the host, and users
with the ability to control their own shadow will lose control
of their shadows if Xeles does this. Those that have their
shadows removed don't suffer damage, but once their shadow is
taken, they cannot go out in the day time, as strong light (like
sunlight), will burn them until they are completely evaporated.
Once in the light, users must get out of the light before they
evaporate, or they will die. The only ways to get the shadow
back is to steal it back from Xeles, or one can use salt on the
person in posesssion of Xeles. Typically, Xeles will usually
barter to give shadows back if someone offers something he
wants.
- Dark God Animated Shadows/Dark Spirit creation: This is
another power that Xeles has a god of darkness. Xeles is able to
manipulate shadows and animate them as he sees fit. He can
manipulate shadows into just about anything he wants, whether
it's forming it like a specific type of creature, or just
forming something that will attack opponents. Xeles's major use
for this, though, is the fact that he is able to animate spirits
in order to create new dark spirits. Typically, he uses his
shadows to create dark spirits from them, such as creating dark
spirits against enemies that will fight for him if he doesn't
feel like fighting, or he needs specific forces for certain
situations. Usually, Xeles's specialty for dark spirits is
creating consumers, which are designed for one thing. Xeles is
able to use this on any shadow in the mortal realm, and can do
this very easily in the Shadow Realm. When Xeles uses this, his
shadows or dark spirits are granted a life of their own, and
granted their own consciousness whether they are permanent
creatures or not. Typically, creating dark spirits is a
permanent addition (as long as the dark spirit isn't destroyed),
but creating animated shadow creatures from shadows is typically
temporary. These shadows are usually manifested using mortal
shadows, so they follow the same limits as normal shadows, such
as light being able to be used to destroy them, despite Xeles
himself not taking damage from light attacks. When dark spirits
are created, each dark spirit typically has it's own counter,
such as consumers are usually destroyed by purifying darkness or
being contained by abilities that can confine spirits to
objects. This power is a basic ability for Xeles, mostly for
when he's in the mortal realm. However, when in the shadow
realm, he can create normal dark spirits and shadow creatures,
usually stronger, but most of them cannot enter the real world
unless they make through the death wraith dark spirit hunter
forces first.
- Dark God Shadow Corruption: This is another ability using
Xeles's dark nature. When Xeles uses his shadows, he is able to
release shadows from his body into someone, and then corrupt
them from within. When used, Xeles's shadows are able to take
over someone and turn them into his servants as long as the
shadows are in control. This only requires that Xeles's shadows
are absorbed into the body, either through wounds or through
some opening in the body that would allow the corruption to
travel through the body. Similar to how Galian and Amara can
corrupt people and corrupt them, Xeles's ability works much the
same way, except that he has to use his body's darkness in order
to corrupt them. This has a few effects, such as heavily
amplifying the person with dark power originating from Xeles,
but also grants them powerful dark arts while under Xeles's
control. This corruption is very strong, and even can overpower
certain resistances to mind or body control due to Xeles's power
being much stronger than most other beings. However, while it
can overpower mind and body control resistances/immunities, it
can still be purified before control is taken from the user,
which usually happens within 3 combat rounds. As long as the
user purifies it with some sort of heavy purification power.
However, those without purification powers have two other
options for purifying this. The first is burning holy oil, which
purifies the body of this corruption immediately (similar to how
Amara's and Galian's corruptions can be burned this way), or one
can eat a mass of blessed sea salt, which will also purify them
of the corruption. This power can also be avoided if the user
just avoid's Xeles's power form entering their body, and without
entering the body, the person won't be corrupted.
Combat and Passive Abilities:
- Dark God Combat and Supernatural Battle Knowledge: Over his
years granting dark arts and taking shadows from people, Xeles
has become extremely knowledgable in combat and supernatural
battle tactics, in which he is able to mimic almost every combat
style on earth at a near master level. Xeles has many different
combat styles to choose from, so many that it would be
impossible to name them all. This has mostly made it so that
Xeles rarely ever has to train his combat stats, as he mostly
gains what he knows from a combination of taking shadows, his
godly knowledge of the universe, and his dark arts bestowal that
lets him grow as those empowers do. This makes Xeles
knowledgable of just about every fighting style or supernatural
power in the multiverse, thanks to being around since before
almost any other deity. Xeles is usually not known for being a
fighter, but he is able to fight pretty easily when combining
this with his deity level stats. When in the mortal realm, this
helps him fight people when he has to fight in his human form,
and is the main reason he opts to learn these fighting styles,
but also so that he can fight Toranoraos whenever they fight
each other since they are rivals. When in the mortal realm,
Xeles is somewhat limited on how much power and how much
supernatural battle ability he can use, since he is usually
limited by the form he's in. This sounds far more intimidating
than it is, since Xeles doesn't typically fight unless someone
picks a fight with him.
- Dark Anti-God: As a god of darkness, Xeles is among the
"anti-gods" that are essentially the opposing forces of the gods
of creation. While Xeles creates dark spirits, Xeles's purpose
is to be a god of darkness that focuses on the negative power of
darkness, and Xeles's purpose is mostly pure destruction and
causing chaos in the mortal realms. His power as an anti-god
makes him able to destroy deities that are focused on creation,
no matter what power they might have. Typically, gods of
destruction or darkness are about negative power, and are about
destroying anything that they can destroy. Xeles is able to use
his power to counter any god of creation, with him being able to
use his power as an anti-god to fight and destroy most gods.
Even the most powerful gods have no power over him, and the only
person who can seem to keep him in check is Toranoraos, since
Toranoraos and Xeles are opposite forces. While this isn't an
active power, this is more of a passive effect of his status as
a god of darkness. Essentially, he is in the same class of deity
as Amara and Galian. While he's not meant to be a god of death
and destruction, his nature tends to lean toward that aspect. Of
course, this means that gods of creation counter his power just
as easily as he counters theres, and their powers do more to
him. Typically, the only real god that compares to him in the
end though is Toranoraos, who specifically came as his opposite.
Toranoraos is the one that usually keeps Xeles from going all
out on mortals.
- Dark God True Dark Spirit Dominion/Creation: As the creator of
the dark spirits and a powerful dark deity, Xeles is the true
deity of dark spirits, beyond anyone else who tries to control
his dark spirits. While there are many that claim to be lords of
dark spirits, no one is as much of a lord of dark spirits as
Xeles is. Typically, most people who gain lordship over dark
spirits usually do so through Xeles, usually as a result of
gaining power through him. Xeles is the true lord of dark
spirits, and almost any who claim to be lord of dark spirits
usually always know that Xeles is the one that is even above
them. Among the most common people who claim to be lords of dark
spirits are Vobu in the Olympus universe and Zenrael in the
London universe, but are merely people that Xeles has allowed to
use dark spirits for their own purposes. Not only is Xeles the
lord of dark spirits though, he is the creator, which means that
he can create dark spirits as he desires. Usually, he creates
dark spirits in the Deep Shadow Realm, usually using shadows he
takes from people to create more powerful shadows after he found
better ways to create more powerful dark spirits from mortal
power. However, Xeles is able to create dark spirits with just
his presence, as it was how he created most of his forces.
Typically, this means that dark spirits as a whole cannot be
used against him, as no dark spirit will attack Xeles, and
Xeles's authority as the true god of dark spirits is something
that even the strongest opponents have trouble dealing with,
just as the death wraiths consider Toranoraos their god.
However, as one might guess, this only applies to dark spirits,
and does not apply to any other normal spirits any other spirits
that isn't a dark spirit.
- Dark God Lord of the Hell of Souls: Those familiar with death
wraiths know the name of the Hall of Souls, where Toranoraos
stores souls that usually have no place in the afterlife, and is
the one that reaps deities and other stronger beings whose dead
spirits usually cannot be contained in the normal afterlives.
Xeles's Hell of Souls is somewhat similar, but instead of taking
souls that have no place, typically his dark spirits will try to
take souls that make deals with humans, which is mostly what his
dark spirits will do in order to bring more souls to the Hell of
Souls. Some dark spirits are able to take stronger souls under
certain circumstances, usually if they make deals or the death
wraiths or Toranoraos see them as too evil to try and contain.
These souls go to the Hell of Souls, which is Xeles's version of
the Hall of Souls. However, instead of storing souls or putting
them in special places, Xeles's Hell of Souls is more like the
hell of the shadow realm. In the Hell of Souls, Xeles contains
every soul that is taken and the dark spirits use the souls for
their own purposes. There are many ways they use souls, with the
most common ways being squeezing spirit energy from souls like
fruit, constantly harnessing emotional energies from souls, or
dark spirits may sometimes devour souls in order to gain as much
power as they can, and then release the soul to recover and be
devoured again. Every fate that befalls souls who are sent to
the Hell of Souls is often seen as just as bad, if not worse,
than hell itself. Xeles is the ultimate lord of this area, which
he considers his home, just as Toranoraos is usually found in
the Hall of Souls. Xeles is the utlimate lord of the Hell of
Souls, beyond any dark spirit or any of his other forces. This
isn't really a battle power or granting him any special
statuses, but just tells that no one can take his lordship of
this part of the Shadow Realm from him.
- Dark God Shadow Bone Tendril Generation/Manifestation: Xeles's
true form has strange physiology, in which his body has strange
bone tendrils made of his shadow presence that come out of his
body. The main one comes out of his chest and over his shoulder,
and acts similar to a tail. He has many more he can protrude
from his body. Normally, these aren't visible in his human form,
but he can call these from his body at any time. These tendrils
are able to be used like whips in combat, and are strong enough
to crush people with more gripping power than even stronger
constrictor snakes. However, he is able to not only summon these
from his body, but he can also summon these from any shadow by
calling some of his presence form the shadow realm. Typically,
Xeles can use these to trap people, or attack them, in which he
is able to use these in many different ways. These tendrils are
solid forms of matter, which are not made of normal shadows, but
made of solidified shadows that are not able to be destroyed
like normal shadows. Xeles's body is a strange physiology, one
that cannot be dispelled with aura breakers, but rather, his
bone tendrils are more like physical parts of his body despite
being made of his shadows. Typically, he will summon these from
his arms when in mortal form to attack and trap. Of course, as a
physical object, that means that his tendrils can be avoided and
blocked if one can counter Xeles's strength and force of his
shadows. His tendrils, even if summoned from shadows are still
more like pieces of his body, and while they are hard to cut
through, they can be cut through with enough force if one can,
since his body's power is restricted in the living world.
- Dark God Shadow Immortality Formation/Regeneration: Just like
most other creatures of the shadow realm, Xeles is able to
reform his body using shadows, just like a dark spirit or death
wraith would, since he was one of the ones that developed shadow
regeneration. Because Xeles is near immortal, he is able to
recover from almost any injury. While his mortal forms are
typically able to be killed, he is able to reform as long as he
is able to summon his presence, as his shadows can reform him as
many times as he needs to. In the Deep Shadow realm, there is
almost no limit to this power, and he is able to recover from
almost any type of injury. Of course, that's assuming someone
has the power to hurt him, since there's only one person that
really has the power to cause enough damage that he needs to
regenerate. If he is damaged, his presence of shadows simply
reform him and regenerate anything he might suffer. Because his
presence is half of the Shadow Realm (with Toranoraos being the
other half), he has a lot of presence, and is nearly impossible
to kill. However, this isn't the case in the living world, where
his mortal forms can be killed if he takes enough damage, though
he does still have shadow regeneration when in mortal forms.
Unlike his normal form in the Deep Shadow Realm though, his
mortal forms are usually have a limit to how many times they can
regenerate, and his forms can be "killed" and his presence sent
back to the shadow realm. As mentioned before, no one has yet
figured out how to kill Xeles, so it's not clear what it would
take to kill him, though it is obvious that his presence in the
Shadow Realm would have to be erased and passed on to someone
else for it to even have a chance of being extinguished since
his presence must always balance Toranoraos.
- Dark God Black Hole of Darkness: As a true entity of darkness,
Xeles's presence is like a black hole, in which light and
darkness are both drawn into his darkness as a black hole. While
this doesn't affect physical matter, light and darkness are both
drawn into his darkness when in contact with his body. This
typically is the cases in the Shadow Realm, but also affects
light and darkness when in the living world as well. Because of
this, darkness and light are pretty much useless on him. To
Xeles, intense light is more of an annoyance than hurtful, and
even flashbangs are not able to hurt Xeles's shadows or his
presence despite him being a god of darkness. Because of this,
Xeles has complete immunity to darkness and light, including
almost any special type of either power. Because his presence is
like a black hole, he doesn't absorb them into himself, so he
doesn't process them. This means that light and darkness are not
something that one can use against him. While darkness is fairly
obvious given that Xeles is a god of darkness, most don't
usually expect that light is also useless against him. However,
while light and dark are not useful, there are plenty of other
abilities that will work on him as long as it's not darkness
based or light based. Powers like earth usually work best
against him, given him mostly being of the Shadow Realm and not
so much of the physical realms.
- Dark God Immunity to Earthly Minerals/Negation effects: While
Xeles can still be hurt by earth manipulation and physical
objects can still do damage to him, Xeles is immune to
supernatural effects of earthly minerals. The major metals to
note here are his immunity to metals like varanium, stilled
silver, and even the Olympus universe oceanstone. Xeles is
immune to not only these metals, but is immune to power negation
abilities in almost any form. Because Xeles is so much more
powerful than most other deities, Xeles is not able to be
affected by these powers whether it's by special abilities or
special metals. For the most part, most metals that affect his
power in some way don't work, and his powers are not negatable
due to him being a powerful god of darkness. It is very rare for
earthly supernatural metal effects to hurt him, though he can
still be poisoned with metal assuming that one can get metal
into his mortal form's body. While this doesn't work on his true
form in the Shadow Realm, this poisoning does work when he's on
earth. Usually, certain metals like mercury, or even blessed sea
salt can work on doing damage to his mortal forms bodies. It is
also worth noting that his restrictions in the mortal world are
not affected by this immunity, and he is still restricted in
what how much power he can use in the mortal realm.
- Dark God Knowledge of the Multiverse/Dimensional Spaces:
Having predated almost the entire multiverse just like
Toranoraos, Xeles has knowledge of almost everything in the
multiverse. Not only has he seen almost everything in the
multi-verse whether it's past, present, future or alternate
reality entirely, but Xeles has godly connection to the forces
of the universe similar to other deities at higher levels. For
Xeles, he knows almost every force, supernatural, and what they
can do since he has been around since before the universes were
created. Similar to creatures like angels and demons who have
connections to the knowledge of the universes they are a part
of, Xeles has a similar connection to the multiverse, but as a
mult-dimensional being and a being beyond time. Unlike creatures
like angels and demons though, Xeles also has knowledge of all
of the primordial beings and deities like Galian, Amara and
other primordial creatures that predate creation. Overall,
there's not much that Xeles doesn't know, though this doesn't
really translate to battle much, as this just makes Xeles
knowledgable on just about everything in creation. The only way
this translates to creation is that he knows everything about
creatures and their strengths and weaknesses, which helps him if
he has to fight someone.
- Dark God Precognition/Timeline Reading: Because Xeles is
beyond the scope of time, he is able to read the timelines and
how they play out. He has knowledge of every timeline and gains
knowledge of timelines as they are created. Because of this,
Xeles has a precognition of how almost everything will happen,
being able to see all the possibilities. Typically, this means
that Xeles is a deity that can see beyond the scope of time, and
this helps him see how almost anything will play out. This is a
power that helps him immensely as a deity, and allows him to
plan almost everything he does in both his realm and the mortal
realm. Xeles has a connection to himself in every timeline, and
is a being that can exist throughout time all at once. In
battle, he typically knows how ever battle will play out, and
can see every possibility. While this may sound impressive, he
can easily change time by acting, and every action he takes
could create a new timeline depending on how he acts. It is also
hard to know sometimes which decisions will be made in certain
situations, so while he can see every possibility, that doesn't
mean he knows exactly which one will happen. This power is also
difficult to use around people with strong space/time
distortions, as while they don't work on Xeles himself, they do
distort his ability to read space and time, and makes his
precognition hard to use since it distorts his knowledge of when
things will happen. Distorting space and time can be done
through someone with power to do so, or through an object that
distorts space and time (like a black hole), and it will distort
Xeles's ability to see different timelines in the time or space
he is in (usually this affects him in one universe or timeline
at a time, though some stronger users can affect more than just
one timeline.)
- Dark God Supernatural Sixth Sense and Enhanced Senses: Just
like many other creatures, Xeles has a sixth sense that lets him
sense others and also has highly enhanced senses. Xeles has
normal enhanced senses, usually dependant on the race he takes
the form of. Since he frequents his human form in the mortal
realm, he typically has highly enhanced human senses, and
doesn't have his senses too high. Due to him having precognition
and time/space reading, he really doesn't need his senses, but
his ability to sense other people's presence also helps. Just
like most creatures, sixth senses allow someone to not only
sense who someone is by their unique presence, but also sense
what someone is, as every race has different aspects of their
presence. Xeles's senses are much stronger than a normal mortal,
but not strong enough to really be used against him, since he
typically is strong enough to be useful, but not strong enough
to be overwhelmed easily. However, a sixth sense can be deceived
by skilled opponents, sometimes not appearing correctly if Xeles
can't sense the opponent's full power or use powers that fool
this sense. There are also skills that hide one's presence so
Xeles can't sense them, or some opponents can suppress their
presence so they're not fully able to be sensed. While this
isn't always the best judge of someone's abilities, it can
provide a slight insight to help Xeles read those around him,
and read what people are. Typically, Xeles uses this to sense
people's affinities for dark arts, since he uses his power to
empower others he thinks has affinities for the dark arts.
- Dark God Telepathy: This ability lets a creature communicate
telepathically with anyone they can connect to. Typically this
power uses their angel radio, in which they use it to tune to a
person if they know where they are in order to communicate with
them. This lets them communicate with other people without
having to speak, with them being able to share thoughts directly
with others. However, usually the angel has to know where the
person is to use this since they have to know where to send
their thoughts. However, this doesn't apply to those who
establish permanent connections, such as connecting to other
family members. This lets angels not only communicate with those
they have a permanent connect with, but can also tell them where
they are at any time should they require to find them or need to
be summoned to them (which they typically do with their angel
radio). Those who are set up with permanent connections have to
accept the connection, and even then, they can sever it if they
choose to.
- Dark God Psychic Power Immunity/Chaotic Mind Defense: Like
most primordial deities, Xeles is completely immune to psychic
effects on his body and mind, and cannot be affected by these
psychic powers. This also applies to any type of emotional
manipulation or influence powers, in which Xeles is not affected
by these kinds of abilities. Anyone who tries to connect with
his mind through psychic abilities will be overwhelmed by his
chaotic mind, which seems to be a natural defense he has against
mind readers. It is theorized that because of celestians being a
primordial race, Xeles gained this immunity to avoid them being
an issue to him. Anyone who is affected will feel traces of
Xeles's chaotic presence, and be able to sense part of his
presence that drives people crazy. Typically, this is only a
part of his presence, so the psychological damage is not
irreversible, but it can take someone out of a fight, as even
those with fearlessness supernatural powers will be affected by
this.
- Dark God Enhanced Supernatural and Physical Stats: As a dark
deity, Xeles has powerful physical and supernatural stats, in
which his stats are above typical beings. Xeles's physical stats
are fairly impressive, where all of his stats are enhanced
thanks to his status as a dark god. Xeles's stamina and near
immortality are his two biggest stats, since he is a dark deity.
However, in terms of strength and defense, Xeles is strong
enough to throw cars at people, pierce through metal with his
attacks, and can use his combat styles he knows to utilize his
physical stats to their max. With almost any combat style, Xeles
is able to move faster than most mortals can process, and can
use combat style's ability to maximize their physical abilities.
Thanks to this, Xeles is just as dangerous of a combatant as any
supernatural, and with his dark god enhanced stats, he is a very
dangerous opponent. While he is still limited by what he can do
in the mortal realm, his full self in the shadow realm is
someone that people would never want to fight.
Transformations:
- True Form (Locked when not in the Deep Shadow Realm): When in
the Deep Shadow Realm and in the Hell of Souls, Xeles is usually
in his true form, which is where his presence is at it's full
power. This form is his true state, and the one that causes fear
in anyone who sees it, barring someone at god status level. When
in this form, Xeles has his shadow bone tendrils that come out
of his body, with the main one being the one that comes out of
his chest and goes over his shoulder sort of like a tail. This
form of Xeles is the form that one would have to fight him in if
they wanted to permanently kill him, and this is the form of him
that is at it's strongest. This form is the presence of half of
the shadow realm, with Toranoraos's presence being the other
half. Because of his presence and power, he cannot use this in
the living world, and he is heavily restricted in powers. He
cannot change into this form in the mortal realms, and can only
take this form when in the Hell of Souls and in the Deep Shadow
Realm where he makes his home. This form is only able to be
taken when Xeles is in a state of unrestrained being, and due to
his agreements with Toranoraos, he cannot use his full power
anywhere in the multiverse except in the Deep Shadow Realm. As
such, it is almost impossible that anyone other than Toranoraos
would ever encounter Xeles in his true form, as Toranoraos is
one of the few people who can handle Xeles's presence without
any negative effects since Toranoraos is at Xeles's level of
power.
Weaknesses:
- Xeles's counter is Toranoraos, plain and simple. Toranoraos
keeps Xeles from doing whatever he wants, and prevents Xeles
from having his dark spirits run off with all of the human souls
they can take. Toranoraos and Xeles mostly avoid each other, and
both know the other is each other's opposite. Xeles and
Toranoraos normally don't get involved in death wraith vs dark
spirits, and usually the two don't bother each other's
operations unless Xeles himself is taking innocent souls, which
is something that Toranoraos doesn't allow him to do. The dark
spirits vs death wraiths is something that Toranoraos and Xeles
don't get invovled in, and they usually avoid it. If Xeles were
to get involved and try to give his forces an advantage,
Toranoraos would step in and stop Xeles from being able to
influence the sway of the war. Typically, Toranoraos will try to
save any souls that are taken by dark spirits that don't make
deals with them, and Toranoraos puts strict rules on how he and
Xeles deal with mortals. If Xeles breaks the rules, or he allows
his forces to break the rules, usually he will step in before
things get too bad. Anyone who has a problem with Xeles can
usually go to Toranoraos, as Toranoraos is the only deity that
has any real authority when it comes to dealing with Xeles.
Xeles and Toranoraos only deal with death wraiths and dark
spirits when one of them breaks the rules.
- His chaotic presence can make anyone go crazy, but it only
affects those that go into the deep shadow realm. if someone is
affected by the Deep Shadow Realm's presence (Xeles's presence),
then the celestians and even Toranoraos have ways to reverse
almost every damage that Xeles can do to someone, aside from the
psychological damage that his presence can have. Though some
Celestians do try to remove some of the strain of the
psychological effects, enough that the person does go back to
somewhat normal living. Toranoraos is usually the person to go
to, but the Celestians have some tech that is specifically
designed to purify people of Xeles's presence since they are
well familiar with him as a primordial deity. Toranoraos also
has special protections for people who are to be affected by the
dark spirits, and can help someone who is born with deep shadow
realm power (as it has been possible for dark spirits to take
mortal form and reproduce with humans). Overall, the only real
way to be affected though is by seeing Xeles's true form, which
one won't ever see unless they, for some reason, journey out of
their way into the Deep Shadow Realm. Barring travelling into
the Deep Shadow Realm, almost no one will be affected by Xeles's
presence the way the people in the Deep Shadow Realm have been.
Xeles and his forces are not allowed to bring spirits into the
Hell of Souls that don't make deals with them, and innocent
souls that are taken by dark spirits are not able to be taken
back to the Hell of Souls. Typically, only those who deal with
dark spirits will be taken to the Hell of Souls. Luckily,
Toranoraos stands between Xeles and the living world, and
Toranoraos would never allow Xeles to let his chaotic presence
take root in the living realms. Because of how the Shadow Realm
is divided, one has to go through Toranoraos's part of the
Shadow Realm governed by the death wraiths to even attempt to
get to the Deep Shadow Realm, something the death wraiths would
try to stop.
- If one decides to fight Xeles's mortal forms, as difficult as
it would be, it is not impossible to beat him if one is prepared
enough. There are three weapons that one would likely want to
have. The first is a death wraith soul sword, as part of the
reason death wraiths learned to use soul swords was to not only
fight lost souls, but also to fight dark spirits. As a result of
dark spirits being spawned form Xeles's presence, soul swords do
more damage to his mortal forms, and are great weapons to use on
him. The second weapon one would want is burning holy oil. Just
like other deities like Amara and Galian, burning holy oil will
usually burn and damage Xeles's body extremely well. If one can
hit him with burning holy oil, it will burn away any part of his
body that is touched by it. As such, it's quite effective
against him. Another great weapon is blessed sea salt, which
works pretty well against any shadow denizen whether it's of
Toranoraos's origin or Xeles's origin. Blessed sea salt doesn't
burn as much as burning holy oil, but it does do damage to him,
and forcing him to swallow it can poison his mortal forms. It is
recommended that one comes with all three if they want to fight
him, hopefully as a group, but one with enough preparation can
kill Xeles's mortal form. Though nothing stops Xeles from
eventually making another mortal form after a certain amount of
time.
Personality: When he is traveling the multiverse, Xeles is a
very confident and somewhat bulky man. He is physically
imposing, but tends to be pretty cheerful when he's in the
mortal realms. His human form isn't too imitidating to stronger
supernaturals, but it's only when he gives them slight glimpses
of his true presence (not enough to drive them insane) that they
realize what and who he is. Xeles is someone who is typically
pretty bored with a lot of what mortals do, as he has been
around since the beginning of time. Typically, Xeles has some
dark humor (no pun intended), and will make jokes as he wants
to, usually about shadows or darkness. Xeles is very careful and
calculated, usually being very strategic in how he operates. He
is not afraid of anything, and even Toranoraos doesn't drive
fear into him. Toranoraos is one of the few people he sees as
his equal, and aside from Chaos, doesn't really think much of
most of the other gods. Typically, he is the type that doesn't
talk too much, usually staying silent unless he has something to
say, aside from the times he makes jokes about situations.
Bio: Many know Toranoraos as the deity in charge of the Hall of
Souls, and the creator of the death wraiths. However, many never
learn about Xeles, who exists alongside Toranoraos as his
opposite. While Toranoraos's presence covers half of the Shadow
Realm that borders the living dimensions, the area deeper into
the Shadow Realm, where very few can ever go without going
through the death wraiths, is the place where Xeles's half of
the Shadow Realm lies, and he calls home. Unlike Toranoraos who
has easy access to the living worlds, Xeles is confined to the
deep shadow realm, and the only way he can get into the living
realm is through heavily restricted power and a mortal form that
restricts heavily how much of Xeles's presence he can use. Xeles
created the dark spirits when Toranoraos created the death
wraiths, and the two races have warred since the races'
creation. Death wraiths vs dark spirits is the never-ending
conflict of the Shadow Realm. Toranoraos and Xeles are like two
sides of a coin, as it should be obvious by this point, and the
two are in a constant battle for dominion of the Shadow Realm.
Luckily, Xeles and Toranoraos have set up their own methods of
keeping the living realms out of their war to a degree, but that
doesn't stop Xeles's dark spirits from trying to enter the
living worlds.
When Toranoraos stood between Xeles and the living realms, he
managed to block Xeles from being able to move his presence into
the living realms when the multiverse was created and other gods
came into existance. Because of this, Xeles was confined into
the deepest part of the Shadow Realm, where he cannot go to the
living world except through Toranoraos. This is why he always
has to use a restricted form in the living world, and one of the
major reasons Toranoraos made sure that gods at a certain level
have to restrict their power in the living world. Typically,
Xeles only appears in the mortal realms as a mortal, and has a
highly restricted presence that usually is supposed to not be
too much higher than the other mortals. Xeles opts to spread as
much discord and destruction in the living world as possible,
and get as many people to make deals with dark spirits as
possible so that the dark spirits can take souls back to the
deep shadow realm. Because of this, part of the death wraith's
purpose besides dealing with souls is to keep the dark spirits
out of the living world, and destroy them whenever they
encounter them. The death wraiths dark spirit hunting teams are
just as important as the lost soul collection teams, and the
dark spirits are the main threat in the Shadow Realm.
When Xeles's forces started taking souls, Xeles created the Hell
of Souls, a place where he could torture souls and farm them for
energy to feed his dark spirits. The Hell of Souls is a place
where souls are stored and farmed, which is a place where even
Toranoraos cannot pull souls from without having to fight Xeles.
Typically, Toranoraos and Xeles fight evenly, and cannot kill
each other due to both being opposite forces necessary for
balance in the Shadow Realm, but that doesn't mean that they
both don't try to kill each other whenever they can. Once in the
Hell of Souls, only Toranoraos can have any hope of getting a
soul out of it, and can usually only take one or two souls at a
time. But because of the size of the multiverse and all the
souls that have been there, there are a lot of souls there that
have been taken there by dark spirits who take their soul.
Once there, there are three main ways a soul is tortured. They
are not tortured because of anything they did, but because Xeles
wants to power up his dark spirits, and many of his dark spirits
are empowered by soul energy in some form. The first is that
souls are contained in shadow bone tendrils that will keep
squeezing the souls of their soul energy over and over, draining
the life like squeezing juice from a fruit. This is the main
torture in the Hell of Souls, as the energy is fed directly to
dark spirits. This method makes the Hell of Souls like a dark
spirit buffet, and they are able to devour soul energy as they
desire. The second method is that people are devoured by dark
spirits. Once devoured and their souls have been drained of all
energy, the soul is spit out and then once recovered, the soul
is devoured again by other dark spirits. This is an endless
process that dark spirits will do over and over in order to
drain souls of their energy temporarily. This process doesn't
take too long, and the soul recovers fairly quickly from it.
The third way souls are tortured are by certain dark spirits
farming the emotional energy of the souls, a power that emanates
from the soul since souls are a source of emotions. Usually,
collectors are the best ones to collect the emotional energies,
and will store them to feed other dark spirits who feed on
emotional energy. This is the most difficult torture to do,
because depending on the energy the dark spirits want, they may
have to come up with different ways to torture a spirit. The
major problem is that eventually souls only feel one emotion in
the Hell of Souls: despair. However, there are some dark spirits
that have unique methods, such as some that give the souls hope
that they will escape in order to drive up their happiness to
drain it of that happiness energy.
Xeles doesn't get too involved with the dark spirits vs death
wraiths, as per his agreement with Toranoraos, and he only seeks
to corrupt as many people as possible when he is in the mortal
realm. He will often establish himself among people as a god of
the dark arts, even above other heavy dark arts users, and
grants power to those he sees that has an affinity for dark
arts. Xeles is someone who even other dark arts masters fear,
and even a lot of deities fear him as a dark deity if they know
of him. Death wraiths know that there is something in the Deep
Shadow Realm they cannot beat, but most people are never aware
of just what it is. Xeles continues his work as he always does,
and rarely appears except for when he wants to either have some
fun in the mortal realm, or find new dark arts users to empower.
