COMMUNITY SPECIAL: Angels and Archangels
Dean Winchester: I thought angels were supposed to be guardians.
Fluffy wings, halos... You know, Michael Landon... Not dicks.
Castiel: Read the Bible. Angels are warriors of God. I'm a
soldier.
- Dean Winchester and Castiel in the Olympus Universe about
angels
Hei: We're going to have to fight off the angel. They're really
hard to kill, but we might be able to do it.
Sabbat Member: Takes a silver knife out Will this do anything to
it?
Hei: Yeah... It will piss it off...
- Hei and a Sabbat Member in the London Universe after finding
out a rogue angel was coming to kill him

Bio: Most people are familiar with angels, fallen angels and
demons to a degree. The angels are known for two things: Guiding
humanity on behalf of God, and fighting as guardians. There are
many types of angels from cupids, seraphs, and even humans
turned angel like the grand priest angels. Most angels are
beings of light, and are usually found in the realm of Heaven
when they are not fighting on earth. Many angels have unique
abilities and some even have different abilities than most
angels do, but overall, most angels have a similar ability set
aside from their unique abilities. For example, all angels are
able to access the angel communication network, and most have
some kind of angelic holy energy they can use to power their
abilities. In addition, most are capable of learning human-like
abilities from training, usually from the fact they can either
possess humans, or they can take a human-like form. For the most
part, angels are usually those that are in good graces with
heaven, or those angels that have left and not been cast out
officially yet.
Race: The angels are their own race. However, there are grand
priest angels (more to come on later with an updated grand
priest angel race) who are humans that have been turned into
angels. While some angels are unique, most angels are designed
specifically to be angels. Of course, this also includes
nephilim and nephalem that have angel power but are not full
angels.
Weapons:
- Angel Blade (For any angel that's not an archangel): This is a
standard angel blade most normal angels and fallen angels carry.
This blade is designed to kill demons, but can also kill angels
and fallen angels as well due to certain similarities in
physiology between demons, fallen angels, and angels. When faced
with certain creatures that are of angelic or demonic power,
this works on these types of creatures as well. When used on
creatures affected by it, it temporarily negates regeneration of
the creature, specifically working best against angel, fallen
angel, and demon regeneration. This also applies to other
creatures that use such regeneration such as demonic vampires
who use demonic regeneration or holy vampires who have more
angelic power. This weapon is very useful, made out of heavenly
silver. Even against creatures that it doesn't negate
regeneration form, it's still made out of a material that acts
like blessed silver, still being useful against creatures like
vampires and those creatures with unholy or demonic type
natures. This is usually a primary weapon for angels that don't
have their own special holy weapon, being used by angels, grand
priest angels and even other types of angels like seraphim and
cupids.
- Archangel Blade (Archangels Only): Archangel blades are far
stronger than normal angel blades, which are designed to kill
high level opponents, including those immune to normal angel
blades. These blades are slightly longer than normal angel
blades, and shaped different as they are designed in a twisted
blade. When stabbed, the twisted blade does more damage, making
the wound much harder to close. When wielded by an archangel, or
someone with archangel power, these blades can kill archangels
and demon princes, and can kill creatures that normally wouldn't
take too much damage from archangel blades, including Sariel and
Lucifer (Even though no one knows if Sariel would be able to die
to an archangel blade). For most archangels, this is a fairly
simple blade, just being a standard archangel blade and not like
some angels who reforge their weapons into different types of
weapons. This weapon, when wielded by an archangel, negates
regeneration for a short time after being stabbed by it, similar
to varanium, but because of the weapon's power, there is no
developing immunity to this negation. The only way to not get
regeneration negated by it is by not getting hit by it.
Archangel blades can also kill demons and angels without killing
the host, as the damage is only done to the thing possessing
them, and works to kill demons and angels without needing to
kill the host like normal angel blades.
Angel Abilities:
- Angel/Archangel Divine Aura: Angels have incredible holy aura,
as they radiate in their angel forms with divine energy, which
is enhanced by the angelic presence. This aura not only shows an
angel's power, but also acts as an defense, strengthening their
bodies so that they take less damage. Depending on the kind of
angel, normal angels have strong aura, with the next step up
usually being grand priest angels, and the highest level being
archangels. Other angels can also make the list, like seraphim
or other angel types, though depending on the individual, most
other angel types can very on where they place in the list of
angelic power. In most angel's angelic power, this aura isn't
visible, and acts like a passive defense, and radiates from
their spirit that allows angels to give off a presence of pure
light which is usually visible to those with a sixth sense for
sensing the presence of other beings. Since this form is based
in angelic power rather than elemental power like some auras,
this aura relies on the divine energy an angel generates to
power it. Typically, archangels are the ones with the strongest
holy power, and an archangel's aura is typical more powerful
than any other kind of angel in heaven. While strong though,
demonic and dark weapons and powers can more easily pierce this
aura, as one might expect, as can aura breaker weapons and
powers.
- Enhanced Holy Energy/Celestial Force: Having angel power,
angels have advanced holy energy and higher level angels also
have celestial force (or some might have other higher level
divine energies to use in battle), which is enhanced by their
angelic power. Their enhanced holy energy is holy energy
enhanced by their angel power, which does more damage than
normal holy energy. This is a natural holy energy to some
angel's power, as it replaces normal holy energy angels use.
Higher level angels and a lot of angelic hybrids can also use
celestial force, the highest level holy energy that some
archangels and nephilim developed to fight demon princes and
high level demonic entities, in which celestial force is an
amplification using positive spirit energy to amp holy energy.
The normal enhanced holy energy does less damage, but costs less
power to use, while the celestial force is far stronger, but
costs more power to use. This requires the user to manage their
power, using holy energy against weaker opponents and saving
celestial force for more dangerous opponents. Most angels are
trained in holy energy and have advanced holy energy, but only
high level angels or some hybrids are trained and can use
celestial force. This force is often best utilized in nephilims,
as certain angel hybrids learned to use this far more
effectively using less power since angel hybrids can more easily
create this power with stronger soul energy compared to angels.
Some angels have even developed other divine energies depending
on their power set (usually archangels who develop their own
types of powers)
- Enhanced Holy Light: Some angels also have enhanced holy light
manipulation, in which they can use this holy light to attack
opponents. These angels that use this have learned to tap into
the light of their angelic light-based nature to manipulate
light around them using their power. This holy light is light
drawn from around them, fused with the angelic power of their
light-based nature to create a powerful holy light. This light
is very strong, and designed to be able to be used to battle
demon's unholy darkness or a fallen angel's corrupted elements.
This light is much stronger than typical light manipulation,
being fused with holy energy. When used, this light can do
things like generating light spears, firing concentrated light
beams, and even be used to destroy demonic presences with it's
holy power. Some advanced users of holy light can even
manipulation visible light to create illusions, and some are
even able to use light to control light-based lightning (normal
lightning that gives off light, not special lightnings like dark
lightning and heat lightning). As a result, this light
manipulation is very useful for angels, with some angels even
having higher level light abilities or using specific light
abilities, like Sariel who uses the power of moon light and
Raphael who uses the power of sun light. Some more powerful
advanced light users have even tapped into primordial light as a
type of light they can draw from as well. This light is
countered best by darkness abilities, and stronger darkness
abilities like unholy darkness can counter the holy element of
this light ability.
- Divine Smite: With angel power, all angels have enhanced
smiting abilities which is often mistaken for divine lightning.
The first is when they put their hands on others, and purify
unholy presences, being able to destroy things like demons
possessing a body. This ability is set up so that an angel can
attack presences in people through physical contact. Some refer
to this as "purification" but the angels usually refer to it as
"smiting" as their purification is actually different. This is
an attack skill designed to destroy a presence inside of others,
usually to cast demons out of humans. When used through physical
contact, the angel is able to exorcise a presence or burn the
presence completely out of someone. Exorcising takes less time,
but doesn't hurt the presence in the body which is usually the
safer option for most angels so they don't kill the host.
However, the second option can burn the presence usually by
overpowering it with their own nature, and burn the presence out
of them. Not only does this take longer to do, but this also is
a big danger to the host, as the host can actually be killed
with this ability. This ability is typically better to use for
exorcisms, since most angels are usually trying to save people
from presences when using this power. This time it takes to
destroy a presence or exorcise it also depends on the creature,
it's strength and the type of angel. Certain creatures take much
longer or some creatures like leviathans can't be cast out by
normal angels. It's also important to note that angels take
longer to cast out presences than archangels do, who can do this
a bit faster than normal angels can.
- Divine Lightning: This ability is often called divine
lightning despite not being true lightning. In this ability,
angels are able to fire blasts of angelic energy with a
current-like nature, which acts similar to electricity
manipulation, but is actually holy energy. Usually, this is
designed to damage opponents, blasting opponents with holy
energy that can do damage as the current runs through their
bodies. This ability is also very useful in trying to break
through warding, in which normal angels came up with a way to
use this to burn through wording by using this as a group.
Angels usually best use this ability in a group, where they
attack stronger enemies with power beyond them as individuals.
They can also blast opponents with this, with it doing holy
energy damage, and works very well against weakening demons.
Angels can also use this in groups from above, firing this blast
down on an opponent like a lightning strike as well. Typically
when used from above, groups of angels will get together and
blast strong enemies as a group, since it does more damage with
them amplifying each other's power using this. Archangels also
have a much stronger version of this, where they are able to
blast with much more impact force, and do more damage to
opponents with this than normal angels can. This power is a
fairly basic energy manipulation of an angel's holy energy, but
is still block able by strong enough weapons, shields and
armors. Strong enough energies can also counter this energy
(though one has to account for the strength of the angel/angels,
and know that archangels are much more powerful in how they use
this).
- Angelic Possession: Typically angels fall into one of two
categories when they come to earth in how they choose to
interact with mortals. The first are the more spiritual angels
that are typically not visible to people without special senses,
and these angels typically tend to possess humans in order to
interact with the world. Unlike demons who forcefully possess
people, angels have to get permission from the host before they
are allowed to possess them. Most angelic possessions are a sort
of union of minds and usually involve the person they're
possessing working together with the angel possessing them. This
can be very beneficial, and the longer the angel and being are
together could result in the angel and being actually melding
together and gaining some of each other's powers if they're
together for long enough. This is a very useful method for
angels, since they typically don't have to worry as much about
mortal resistance in the mind like demons do, making their
possessions easier. There are angels who trick humans into
possessing them though, and angels can suppress resistant minds,
but ultimately, most angels are only able to stay in a body as
long as the person is willing, and once the person possessed
rejects them, they typically are able to push them out much more
easily than demonic possession. However, one thing to note is
that stronger angels are more suppressive with their natures,
suppressing the minds of those they possess, whether
intentionally or not. Of course, this can be misused by angels,
in which they can manipulate mortals they possess if they choose
to, but this is actually designed to be a mutually beneficial
type of possession with the being possessed and angel working
together.
- Angelic Shapeshift: Some angels who are more physical beings
don't actually need to possess people, in which some angels are
able to simply shapeshift into creatures that they want to take
the forms of, even being able to take unique forms based on what
they want to do. They can not only change their shape, but
disguise their presence as well, often appearing as whatever
creature they're trying to imitate. Usually, most angels appear
completely human when using this, in which they choose this
method to blend in with others to not stand out. This is very
useful since it means the angel is able to just take the form
they want rather than trying to find a vessel like more
spiritual angels. This allows them to take any race's form they
desire, with some of them even gaining physical properties of
the race they're taking, such as imitating a werewolf and
gaining a wolf-like appearance with claws and teeth. However,
this only replicates physical traits, and doesn't allow for
gaining new supernatural abilities. However, there are some
angels that do have specific shapeshift abilities, such as Erena
having a form copy power to copy powers, or some angels gaining
power from certain transformations, but theses are usually
unique depending on the angel. Most angels who use this only use
this to change form, with some using this to manipulate their
physical bodies and giving themselves more attack options such
as taking a form with claws to allow the angel to attack using
the claws. However, overall, they are still angel, and can still
be attacked the same way as normal angels, unless it is a
special transformation ability they possess.
- Angel Healing, Purification, and Restoration: All angels have
healing powers, as well as restoration abilities they can use on
others. The main ability is being able to heal others, being
able to heal things like injuries, and heal things like
afflictions caused by supernatural abilities (like unholy energy
poisoning). Angels are able to use this to also purify the
presences from others, being able to purify things like unwanted
presences in the body, and being able to remove afflictions from
the user as needed. Usually, their powers of healing and
purification are pretty useful for allies, and can even be used
on themselves to a degree since they are able to purify and heal
themselves if they find themselves in a place where they can't
heal as easily. Their last power is that of restoration, where
they can restore people and objects. Angels are able to restore
not only people, but broken objects as well depending on the
object. This typically helps with things like trying to restore
objects they need, or restoring broken weapons and armors. These
abilities typically come from an angel's nature, in which they
have a natural restorative power they are able to use that is
powered by their holy energy. This is an ability designed mostly
for healing and restoration, and this has no real attack ability
in battle, other than an angel healing themselves. Archangels
also have much more powerful healing abilities and can
heal/restore much faster than normal angels due to their
enhanced holy power and them being much more powerful than
normal angels.
- Angelic Resurrection: If someone dies, an angel is able to
bring them back to life. Angelic resurrection is able to bring
the dead back to life, which is usually much more difficult than
most other beings. Thanks to their status in Heaven, they are
usually able to resurrect anyone they desire to. However, there
are some things to note with this. The first is that they must
have the body and the soul of the person they are trying to
bring back. They can bring someone back with just the body, but
that can be a double edged sword since bringing someone back
without a soul can leave them in a state of being unable to feel
emotions, and they usually end up becoming problems later.
Usually, they can bring souls from heaven pretty easily, but
taking souls from hell is much more difficult, since certain
people having been brought back have required angels going to
hell and pulling the soul out, which can be dangerous especially
if the demons there don't want the soul to be taken from hell.
For the most part, this is only done in rare circumstances,
usually requiring a heavenly decree, or requiring the permission
of either Death or Toranoraos (usually both) before angels will
even attempt to do this. This also takes a great amount of
energy from an angel, and even an archangel can use up a lot of
power to do this. However, when used, this is typically much
more dependable than using techniques like black magic
resurrection since angelic resurrection usually doesn't have any
negative side effects other than the angel using a lot of their
power to do this. The recoil effects like taking a piece of
someone don't happen with angelic resurrection like they
typically do with black magic resurrections, and the only real
side effects the person brought back might face is if they are
brought back without a soul or scarred by what they experienced
in the afterlife (usually when being brought back from hell).
- Angelic Holy Ally Amplification: Angels are able to amplify
those that ally with them, in which they are able to strengthen
their allies in other beings (typically empowering humans). The
most common use of this is when an angel empowers a human, and
the human becomes much harder to damage, and does more damage to
opponents. Some angels have been able to also grant specific
other defenses to others, such as some angels granting defense
against certain abilities, like using this power to help protect
them from flames or lightning powers to a degree. This usually
depends on the angel and their abilities, as every angel
typically has some unique way to amplify someone, whether it's
granting them temporary immunity to flames, granting them
regenerative abilities, or even some who can make someone's skin
hard enough to resist bullets. This amplification doesn't
typically work on other angels, and typically works best when
they are allied alongside humans who work with them. This was
originally designed for guardian angels who developed this power
in order to help protect the people they would guard from harm,
or help grant them special defense to certain things. As a
result, this power is designed not for an angel, but for the
beings an angel would protect and/or guide. This power can also
usually be countered by stronger opponents, with some having
stronger abilities, and things like demonic energy or primordial
power can easily break this amplification and do damage, being a
counter power. The angel can also only strengthen a person with
as much power as they have, so they can't empower a person
beyond their own abilities, such as a normal angel couldn't make
someone strong enough to take on an archangel or demon prince
with their amplification alone. As one might expect, the power
of the angel using this determines the power given by this
ability, for better or for worse.
- Angelic Enochian Warding: Angels are able to wards on people
and places, with this being another power that lets them counter
things like demonic possession. Usually, angels do this, they
are able to use their power to burn wards and sigils on surfaces
in order to ward them. They are able to do things like warding
against demons, in which they would be able to use this to keep
demons from entering an area they don't want demons in, or they
could use this to even ward against angels or fallen angels
depending on what the wards used. When used on people, angels
can do this a few different ways, with them mostly being used
the same way. By putting wards on people, angels can ward others
against things like possession, ward humans with special
Enochian sigils to grant them special effects, or even making a
person untraceable by heaven and hell. Usually, angels can do
this by either burning the ward/sigil onto a person's skin, or
they can burn these into someone's bones outside of physical
view. These wards are pretty useful, and only those that know
Enochian can use counter sigils to remove these, and
angels/demons that can remove these have to know they're there
and where they are on the body. Typically, this is much more
advanced types of warding than typical warding, and use special
Enochian sigils to create powerful wards against a multitude of
threats. However, strong enough counters can counter these, like
a powerful enough demon or demon group could break a warding on
an area, or warding against possession might not work in certain
circumstances if the opponent is stronger than the ward. This
also typically only works on specific circumstances, such as
demon wards only working against demons, and angel wards only
working against angels.
- Enochian Exorcisms: Angels are normally able to send demons
back to hell using their smiting power, however, sometimes this
isn't enough, or an angel might not want to save their power. By
using Enochian exorcisms designed for angels, angels are able to
exorcise presences using Enochian chants. This is useful for
removing unwanted presences, with this originally being used to
counter demonic possession and possession by fallen angels. This
is usually designed to be used alongside their smiting power, in
which they use both to save the amount of power they need to
exorcise a presence, and can be used to do things like casting
out demonic possessions, and even can be used to cast out fallen
angel possessions. However, certain stronger presences might
require special exorcisms or might even be immune to exorcisms
(like demon princes or some more powerful archangels). For the
most part, this is also good to use because it can free those
possessed without hurting them, as the exorcism sends the
presence somewhere depending on the presence (like demons being
sent back to hell). For the most part tough, this doesn't stop
the presence from coming back, as there's usually nothing to
stop presences from coming back (like demons being able to
eventually return from hell). Usually, this is best used to free
someone from possession, then put wards on them so they cannot
be possessed again.
- Angelic Sleeping Touch: This lets an angel put someone to
sleep by touching their forehead. Through physical contact, an
angel can shut down a being's conscious mind, which renders them
unconscious. This particular skill is very useful for knocking
out others that they don't want to fight, as it typically lets
them avoid combat with people that they'd rather not fight. This
ability also bypasses psychic protection, as it uses the angelic
presence to overwhelm the conscious mind. Advanced users of this
ability can even wipe short term memories, with archangels even
being able to wipe long-term memories from the mind for those
that they don't want to know certain things. Usually wiping the
mind is only used for those they don't want to know Heaven is
protecting them, so they use this to wipe the mind if the person
they are protecting sees them or makes it so they don't remember
anything bad happening to them. However, this doesn't work on
all races, as the angel must be more powerful than the person
they're trying to put to sleep, since this power requires
overwhelming the presence of someone else to use. For this
reason, typically angels are only able to use this on normal
humans or weaker supernaturals, and this doesn't work on anyone
as strong or stronger than them in terms of presence. This power
also requires physical touch for at least one round to put into
effect, so if the opponent breaks contact during that round,
they can avoid being put to sleep. Typically tough, this is only
used on innocent bystanders or those that aren't a part of a
battle, in order to keep them out of the fight.
- Angelic Teleportation/Space and Time Travel: This ability is
one that most angels share, in that almost all angels can
teleport. Not only can they teleport around, but they are able
to teleport to other realms as well, such as going back and
forth from heaven, earth and even going to the Veil where dead
spirits reside. They are even able to travel to hell, though
traveling to hell is typically dangerous to angels as they will
often be attacked by demons there if they do teleport there.
Some angels are even skilled enough that they can bend time and
travel through time either by themselves or with others. Due to
this, most angels are able to travel in some way through time
and space fairly easily. While traveling to certain places, like
traveling time, takes a lot of energy, most angels can use basic
teleportation to travel around as they desire. Some angels even
teleport differently, such as some might disappear in a burst of
light, or some might vanish, or some even leave flurries of
angelic feathers from their wings behind as they teleport away.
When used, the angel does have to know where they are going, or
else they might travel somewhere randomly and get lost. This is
especially important when traveling between realms like going
from heaven to earth, where they might get lost in between if
they don't know where they're going. However, most angels know
the path between heaven and earth, and aside from sometimes not
knowing where specific places are, they typically have no
problem traveling there if they know where they are going.
- Angelic Astral Projection/Dream-walking: Ever since ancient
times, angels have been able to use their spiritual like being
to go back and forth from manifesting as spirits. The main use
of this was to be able to appear in dreams, a power that angels
have used to convey messages to people chosen by heaven in the
past. Unlike most beings who separate their spirit, an angel is
able to turn into a spiritual being, in which they can enter the
astral plane and react with not only dreams, but can also
interact with dead spirits, and some intelligent spirits that
are not dead spirits. Angels are able to go to the Veil where
dead spirits are usually found, or the angel can attempt to go
to the Spirit Realm, which is a realm where natural spirits
reside, if they are able to perceive the spirits (Though this is
usually a dangerous trip requiring special training to get into
the spirit realm due to it's unique spirit perception required).
This lets users commune with the dead, and with spirits that can
be perceived. Of course, the biggest use for this is to interact
with spirits, but also if one is trying to interact with a dead
spirit, it is much easier to do so in astral projection than in
physical form. The other main use of this is going back and
forth from dreams, in which angels can also enter the dream
realm, though usually in a limited fashion where they can only
interact in dreams and cannot access the full dream realm or
create dreams like many dream demons can.
Heaven Generated Abilities:
- Heaven Generated Energies/Abilities: Just as there are hell
generated abilities, there are also abilities generated in
heaven as well that some holy users can use. Unlike hell, heaven
is not set up in "layers" like hell is, but more generates
certain abilities depending on what part of heaven the power
comes from. For example, the souls in heaven generate their own
energy, but deeper in heaven, there are places like heaven's
garden and God's throne with special summonable items or powers.
For the most part, heaven is not divided like hell is, since
it's meant to be a paradise for everyone. However, certain holy
warriors have learned to use heaven's uniquely generated
abilities just as demonic enemies have learned to use hell's
abilities. Similar to hell's abilities, each ability has it's
own strengths and weaknesses, with each being different in
nature. And similar to hell's abilities, users can only learn
2-3 of these abilities unless they have special power that lets
them do so (which is very rare). These are counterable by
equivalent hell generated abilities.
- Light of Heaven: This is a powerful light generated by the
outskirts of heaven. Light users can sometimes learn to summon
this light from heaven, which is a powerful holy light that is
more powerful than typical holy light. Powerful light users can
use this light to power their light manipulation, and those with
the power to absorb light to empower themselves can absorb this
light to gain holy power from heaven. This light is able to be
used just like typical light, except that it requires higher
level light users to be able to manipulate and summon. This
light is still able to do things like being used for light
beams, light attacks, and some high level light users can even
use this to create illusions made of light. Since this is a
light manipulation skill, it can also be countered as such, with
the major counter being darkness and unholy darkness. If one
accounts for the enhanced holy power of the light, they can
counter it just like any light manipulation. Those with hell
summoning skills might also counter this with the darkness of
the 1st circle of hell as well.
- Holy Blazing Fire and Lightning: In the outer areas of heaven,
there is a defense to keep demons from entering heaven. Outside
of Heaven, the light around the outskirts of heaven generates a
powerful holy fire, which is powerful enough to generate it's
own static electricity, making it more powerful than typical
holy fire. This blazing holy fire does heavy purification and
holy damage to unholy opponents, designed to kill demons and can
even be used to do severe holy and purification damage to hell
knights and demon princes (to an extent). For the most part,
this blazing holy fire/lightning combination is stronger than
typical holy flame, and can even match some celestial flame
users. This flame can be used just like normal flames, such as
creating explosive attacks, shooting fireballs, or even burning
things through physical touch. For the most part, this works
best against demons, but can also be effective on anything
vulnerable to holy power and purification, like undead,
vampires, werewolves and other unholy presences. This fire is
strong, but can still be countered with powerful enough water
and ice attacks. Since the fire generates it's own lightning,
this is often best used by users of both flame and lightning due
to it's combination nature. Though this can also be used
separately if one can separate the two powers if one doesn't
want to use one of the elementals, such as removing the flames
to just use the lightning (though this takes more power to do,
and makes it so the flame can no longer generate more
lightning). This is also countered by the Hell generated
hellfire ability, which is the natural opposite of this power.
- Runed Chains of Containment: Not many people know about the
specifics of heaven's jail, which is designed to contain angels
who have committed crimes against heaven but are not sentenced
to being cast out of heaven. Usually, if they only require
imprisonment for a time, then they will serve a sentence in the
jail. The chains used to contain and trap people in the jail can
be used/summoned by those with an affinity for metal
manipulation. These are essentially very similar to the chains
that are used around hell's cage, and the chains are similar
enough design that they are essentially identical. When used,
these chains are designed to be wrapped around and trapping
people, and works to negate almost any beings abilities when
they are in contact with this metal. Those with metal
manipulation can eventually gain the ability to summon these
chains, which can last up to 3 rounds when called out. These
chains are strong, but one has to be careful when using them, as
they can actually also contain the user if they are turned back
on the user. The best way to avoid these are to not let them
make physical contact, and certain abilities like fire can
actually melt these and remove the enchantment that make them
able to do this. They are also counterable by the hell generated
Cage Chain ability that uses almost the exact same chains.
- Soul's Radiance: The souls that have gone to heaven generate
their own power through living in Heaven, which is emitted from
the souls. Since they are in heaven, there is no corruption in
their energy, making it a powerful ability for those that can
summon this powerful energy. This energy can be used to power up
those that can summon it, and those can use this can also use it
to attack enemies, using it to power attacks. Because human
spirit energy, and to some extent supernatural energy, is
typically more potent than creatures like angels, this is a good
way to attack with stronger spirit energy that can be shaped
into attacks as the user sees fit. Usually, this is best used
among spirit energy users or those that are familiar with using
spirit power, though it can be used to a smaller extent as an
ability by those wanting to use this. This ability is mostly
just raw spirit energy, and does equivalent damage as such. This
energy can typically be a very useful method to attacking
enemies, since this energy is pretty useful and few beings have
immunity to human spirit energy power. Some more advanced users
can actually also fuse holy energy into the spirit energy they
absorb, using powerful holy spirit energy to attack opponents.
This is typically counterable by other energies, and can be
countered by demon energy if the demon energy is strong enough
to do so.
- Divine Wind: This power summons a powerful holy wind from
heaven. In heaven, this wind generates a cool refreshing breeze
that is empowered by good, peaceful emotions. When used, this
wind can be used to heal oneself, or even be used to purify
someone of an unwanted presence. Usually, this is designed to be
a non-battle ability, though some have managed to use it in
battle that can use holy wind, and this can be used to fight
opponents with powerful holy wind. This wind is usually
refreshing, but when concentrated, wind users can concentrate
this wind into things like shockwave attacks and slashes by
focusing the wind properly. And since this is a holy wind, this
wind is able to do holy damage to opponents if they are
vulnerable to holy damage. This is similar to how a normal wind
user uses wind, but also has added healing effects to those that
the user wants to heal. This wind is very useful for fighting
demons, since the purification power can do heavy holy
purification damage to demonic presences. To an extent, this
even works on fallen angels, since they mostly have corrupted
power. This is essentially the counter to the unholy winds of
the second circle of hell, and the two can be used in battle to
counter each other. In addition, this power is also counterable
by other counters to wind, with the main ability that counters
wind usually being earth or fire (depending on the wind used).
- Streets of Heaven Clear Metal/Gem Manipulation: This is
another type of earth manipulation power generated by Heaven.
Those that summon this power are able to summon unique holy
materials that are not actually possible on earth. Most people
are familiar with the "clear gold" that the streets are said to
be made of, but many of the other materials making heaven's
structures are also clear metals and gems that earth users can
use in battle. When used, this is very useful for earth users,
as it is not only a powerful holy earth manipulation, but the
materials used are extremely strong, making perhaps some of the
strongest materials in heaven for making earth attacks out of.
This particular power also is hard to categorize by most people,
as the clear gems can be used to confuse people as to what kind
of material it is, meaning that some people who are good at
figuring out how to cancel out certain earth materials using
chemical reactions (Such as using acid to interact and change
certain materials to another form) cannot use their knowledge
effectively since these materials are not of earthly origin. As
such, they are able to be cut through like normal gems and
metals, but are much more dififcult to do so. This is a powerful
earth manipulation that does heavy holy damage, and is a good
counter to the unholy gold of the fourth circle of hell. This is
counterable by any kind of earth counter, with wind and fire
being the usual counters for earth.
- Animals of Heaven Familiar Summoning: When animals die, they
are sent to heaven (unless there is a rare case where a demon
take an animal to hell, usually to turn them into a demon beast)
and those that are good with animals or have certain animal
taming abilities are able to summon animals that have been
empowered by holy energy. Some have even taken unique forms and
become holy beasts while in Heaven. Since animals are not
creatures that can think, they are not usually charged with
sinful natures, meaning that almost all animals can get into
Heaven. When summoned, these spirits can be made to fight
alongside the person summoning them, with some even developing
intelligence after gaining holy beast power. Each being summoned
is typically different, with different animals having different
stats. For the most part, bears, lions and wolves are typically
the most summoned creatures by those that use this power.
However, one shouldn't ever underestimate some of the less
powerful creatures empowered by Heaven, as they are able to
fight and do heavy holy damage to opponents as a result of their
upgraded power. This summoning acts as a counter to the demonic
ability to summon the torturer demons from the 8th circle of
hell, and can be used to counter this power. These spirits can
also be defeated in battle, to which they are then sent back to
Heaven if they are beaten in battle.
- Celestial Manna Daily Bread: This is a unique food that is
only made in heaven. Manna is typically described as a type of
sweet bread that tastes like it's combined with honey, or some
have said it can be ground and made into cakes. This food is
designed to sustain angels, and is designed to be a unique food
that only the righteous were meant to have. This bread is
designed to be eaten by those that summon it, in which they are
able to use this to amplify their physical abilities, and use
this to restore their stamina and energy, as the bread is not
only restorative, but also is holy in nature and those with holy
natures are able to use this to effectively amp their physical
stats while it's in their system. This can last for up to 15
minutes before the user starts to return to their normal state.
If a demonic opponent eats this, it can poison them, and can
even kill them if they eat too much of this, because it is a
holy food that is not designed to be eaten by unholy presences.
However, it is worth noting that this is not something that can
be overused, as those that try can make themselves sick if they
eat too much of this, as it's not designed for it's
amplification, but designed to sustain rather than amplify one's
abilities. When it comes to the enhanced stats, demonic
enhancement equivalent abilities can counter the stat boost if
they have the ability to amp themselves with demonic energies.
- Garden of Heaven Summoning: Those with plant manipulations can
eventually learn to summon the plants of heaven's garden, which
were taken from the Garden of Eden and remain in Heaven. When
used, plant users can summon these plants and use them in
battle, such as using vines to trap opponents, or using razor
sharp leaves to attack opponents like throwing stars. Depending
on the plants summoned, these plants can be used to fight
opponents, and also do holy damage to opponents when used.
Usually, the vines are the best thing to use, since they spread
fast and are very strong. The vines are designed to completely
consume and trap the person, to which they can eventually
permanently trap the person in a mass of vines that can be used
to keep the opponent trapped indefinitely. There are also other
plants there as well that can be summoned as well depending on
the user's skill set with plants. Unlike normal plants, these
plants are not killed with fire, and are immune to burning
effects unlike other plant manipulations. As a result, these
plants are much harder to kill, usually requiring a kind of
unholy power to more effectively counter. Those that want to
counter this can still cut the vines, but overall, the best way
to avoid getting trapped is to not get surrounded by vines. It
is possible to kill the vines, but one usually needs either the
murky swamp water of the 5th circle of hell, or the boiling
blood of the 7th circle to smother the plants and use the
demonic power to kill the plants. This can be done with typical
demon energy, but is much more difficult, while higher level
demon energies can do this more easily.
- Thorns of the Crown: On God's throne, there is the crown of
thorns that sits at the top of the throne. This is essentially a
symbol that God is the lord of heaven, and the crown is a
powerful holy artifact that no one but God himself can remove.
However, the thorns on the crown are summonable, and are the
ultimate weapons of anyone with summoning from Heaven. While
Hell's Cage can contain anything, these thorns are able to kill
anything, as they are powerful enough that they are now actually
empowered by God's throne. As such, these thorns can kill anyone
if they strike a kill point on the person (usually the brain or
the heart), and the thorns are specifically designed to kill an
opponent. There is no known immunity to this other than
primordial beings who don't die like normal beings (like Galian,
Toranoraos and Death). If one is struck by this in a kill point,
they will die. However, this is also a very dangerous power to
use, as these thorns can be used against the user as well, as
even the user can be killed by these just like their opponents.
This is also dangerous though because only high level beings are
able to handle the power generated by the thorns. For the most
part, even archangels have trouble with this, so most beings can
only use one or two thorns at any time, with archangels not
being able to do much better when using this as they can usually
only summon four at the most using their maximum concentration.
Luckily the thorns are large enough that one can jab an opponent
like using a knife, since they are fairly large thorns. However,
because users can typically only use one or two of these, they
can be dodged more easily. While they cannot be destroyed, the
user can be forced to de-summon them if the opponent manages to
get the user to damage themselves, usually by grabbing the thorn
and trying to turn it on the user. If the user is damaged by it,
the thorns will disappear. For the most part, the only known
counter to this is using something to block the thorns from
hitting them, usually something solid. It is not known if these
can be destroyed, only de-summoned. These also cannot be bound
to anyone, as they are already bound to God's throne. These also
can only be used for up to 3 rounds before they are
automatically de-summoned.
Combat Abilities:
- Fighting Styles/Combat Training: Having lived longer than
man-kind, most angels have a multitude of combat experience.
Some have learned basic combat training, though most usually
have styles they have learned from their time among humans, and
depending on the angel and where they spend their time, many
have learned different styles of combat. Depending on the angel,
some may even have multiple fighting styles they've learned over
the years. Many angels tend to be very skilled in combat, having
had a very long time to learn and even master combat styles.
Depending on the angel, they could have any style they've picked
up from ancient martial arts to modern martial arts, to ancient
soldier training and modern military combat training. Depending
on where they've been and what they've learned, there are many
styles out there to choose from, with most angels usually having
a unique mix of skills, and some even having their own combat
styles. However, each style usually has it's own weaknesses and
strengths with some focusing on certain techniques and some
focusing on certain stats and abilities. This not only includes
combat styles, but also might include weapon styles for those
that use specific weapons. Players can choose which styles to
give their angel characters since most angels will have multiple
styles
- Grand Priest Angel Fighting Style: Focused Strike: This is a
special combat technique that grand priest angels developed, and
was originally developed by Abel as one of the first angelic
specific martial arts. Not only the grand priest angels, but
also many angels learned this style as well so that they would
have another combat style specifically designed for angelic
close combat. Unlike some more peaceful angels, most grand
priest angels are not afraid to use their physical strength to
stop someone in a fight if they had to. As such, they have
learned to condense their strength into small compact strikes to
do more damage to opponents, as most use this to make up for a
lack of physical strength many don't always have. This was
designed for angels not as physically strong as stronger
supernaturals so that they can still damage stronger
supernaturals. This fighting style also uses influences from
Karate and Jujitsu, making it useful for defensive movements and
using opponent's momentum against them. This style was created
by Abel, who perfected it over a very long time when he became
an angel. This style is a fairly custom style, making it hard to
predict or know about in battle unless one is familiar with it,
and is typically taught to all grand priest angels and angels
willing to learn it. For the most part, this style is also
customizable as needed, with many users of this style developing
their own substyles and variations of this style when combining
it with other styles they might have.
- Supernatural Hunter Training/Hunting Experience: Having been
around since early creation and having fought many battles over
the years, most angels are skilled supernatural hunters who know
easily how to fight most types of supernaturals in the world.
Most angels know the strengths and weaknesses of many kinds of
supernaturals, including some like time lords that are more rare
depending on the angel's individual experiences. Most angels are
skilled opponents to face by any race, and knows how to take
down most supernaturals thanks to their experience. Any
supernaturals an angel doesn't know about, they can usually find
information through the angelic network as needed since they can
still talk to other angels still on earth. Since most angels are
typically very smart beings and have a lot of experience to
teach them how to handle many types of situations, they are able
to often come up with solutions to most problems if they
encounter a supernatural with an ability they can't counter.
Though angels don't know everything about supernaturals, they
usually know a lot about the supernaturals they fight, even
though there are plenty they don't know, just like many other
fighters since the universe is filled with many unknown races
and beings. While they can handle things like demons and fallen
angels more easily due to experience fighting them, usually
primordial creatures like the The'Galin are typically outside of
the knowledge of angels, usually requiring someone else to give
them information on these creatures.
- Tracking and Hunting Expert: This is another thing that comes
with experience in being a supernatural hunter, in which many
people trained as supernatural hunters learn how to track and
hunt supernaturals who are threats, often learning the best ways
to track down their opponents as well as how supernatural
hunters may track them if they ever find themselves on the wrong
end of a supernatural hunter (in the case of supernaturals).
Those trained in this learn very subtle things from their
training, like telling whether a foot print is their target or
not by things like the shape of the boot and how deep the
boot-print is, with some being advanced trackers that are able
to identify people by boot prints, as well as also being able to
tell where opponents go thanks to things like walking on plants,
and animals that are unusually silent in a direction. Some even
have a sense of when opponents are near, and can often gain a
sense of where their opponents are going while tracking them. Of
course, with a supernatural senses, this becomes even more
effective as those with enhanced senses can do things like find
traces of body heat, traces of presences, or even just telling
what's around them more easily with special senses.
- Supernatural Exorcism, Weakness and Trap Training: Of course,
every supernatural hunter has to learn how to do things like
exorcisms, and use traps for certain types of races. From their
training as well as their experience, angels were trained
heavily in how to trap and contain supernaturals mostly through
Enochian knowledge and spells/sigils. They are taught things
like how to draw demon traps, how to build traps for other
supernaturals, or how to lure out supernaturals if they try to
hide. They are also taught all manners of exorcisms, from
exorcising demons, to using Enochian sigils to cast out fallen
angels and sometimes even how to cast out angels. Of course, as
many angels have had plenty of practice and experience, they
also eventually developed experience with it over time, and can
learn new ways to take on supernaturals thanks to
experimentation with their abilities and knowing how to combine
certain exorcisms and abilities. Depending on what's available,
some angels can come up with new ways to take on supernaturals,
and this works even better when paired with their smiting and
purification abilities, in which this usually determines how
they use exorcisms and purification since their knowledge
typically determines how effective their exorcism would be, as
well as their power also helping determine outcomes of
exorcisms..
Passive Abilities:
- Angelic Wings/Wing Suppression: All angels have angel wings to
a degree, with some having more unique wings than others. These
wings are usually a defining trait for angels, and as one might
expect, angels are able to fly using these wings. Typically most
wings look bird-like in nature, being white wings that can give
off light when shown that comes from the spirit of the angel
itself. These wings can be made visible, but most angels on
earth have ways to suppress their wings, with two main ways. The
first is simple, in which their wings are shapeshifted into
their backs, usually shapeshifted so they are out of sight. The
second is the more common method most angels use, where their
wings are left on the spiritual plane rather than on the
physical one, and their wings become intangible as a result.
While still there, their wings are not seen, and cannot be
attacked while they are in the spiritual plane. Usually when
this method is used, the only real way to see the angel's wings
is when they flare up their angelic power, and their wings
become visible on their shadows behind them as their bodies
generate a mass of light. However, there are angels that have
unique abilities with their wings, such as some who are able to
use special wing skills (like Amenadiel being able to shapeshift
his wings into spear-like projectiles).
- Angel/Archangel Regeneration: Those that have seen angels
often figure out quickly that angels have powerful regeneration,
and much harder to kill than demons are (typically). Aside from
specific weapons like angel blades, varanium weapons, and other
weapons designed to kill any creature, angels typically are very
difficult to kill, and able to regenerate their bodies even from
a puddle of blood on the ground. As long as there is something
left of them, they are able to regenerate, with angels having
among the most powerful supernatural regenerations alongside
demons and fallen angels. Typically, most angels have some form
of regeneration, and some angels don't have as strong
regeneration due to having trained other defensive abilities,
but most angels do have some form of regeneration. Typically,
angelic regeneration isn't as strong as archangel regeneration,
as archangels are not vulnerable to all the same things normal
angels are weaker too. Archangels are still killable, but they
not only regenerate faster, but also are able to withstand
normal angel blades, and certain other weapons that would kill
angels. For the most part, their regeneration is powerful, but
things like varanium, death scythes, other archangel blades, and
even demon prince power can still kill them, though many
archangels take longer to kill than normal angels. Depending on
the injuries, more injuries might take longer to regenerate, and
depending on the angel and the strength of their regeneration,
some wounds will also be more difficult to regenerate. As a
result, typically doing something like cutting an angel's head
off can stop them even if it's temporarily if one cannot kill an
angel or archangel, as there are still strategies that work
since they do still take damage.
- Angel/Archangel Hardskin Defense: Some angels have actually
developed a type of defense using their holy auras, in which
some angels have developed a harder skin using their divine
auras, and have made their skin much harder to pierce in combat.
Typically this comes alongside their regeneration, in which
angels can focus some of their regenerative power into this to
strengthen their defense. The question mostly becomes which
skill do the angels want more, as some prefer regeneration, but
some prefer not taking the damage at all. Typically, this
defense, at its fullest, can defend against normal bullets, and
some higher level bullets, with those like Amenadiel showing
that toughening the body can be just as useful in a fight as
regenerating injuries. The main issue with this is that, in
order to use it, one must sacrifice some regenerative ability in
order to generate the power form this, since this power has to
come from a source. Typically angels have a choice of either one
or the other, or weakening both to get a little of both skills.
This depends on the angel, as some may prefer one over the
other. At full strength, some angels and archangels have often
been seen as nearly indestructible by weaker opponents (even
though they are just harder to damage). Typically, archangels
have more power they can put into this, but this does still
require putting in some of their regenerative power. When at
full strength, angels are only able to regenerate basic injuries
and cannot regenerate fatal wounds easily (though they still
can). This can, however, be more easily pierced by demonic or
darkness power, since this power runs on an angel's holy
presence/aura. Certain weapons can even ignore this defense
entirely, such as angel blades being able to instantly break
this ability, and celestial weapons can more easily break this
skill as well.
- Angelic Immunity to Holy Effects: Angels are completely immune
to the effects of holy energy. The purifying effects and
damaging effects of holy energy is something that no angel has
to worry about (unless they are a fallen angel), since they are
holy beings. Things like holy afflictions or purifying power
typically doesn't work unless it's something aimed at angels
specifically (like Enochian angelic exorcism chants), and they
cannot be negatively effected by holy energy or any advanced
holy energy. While they can still take damage from the attack
itself, like being sliced by a holy blade or being hit with a
holy attack, the actual purifying effects don't have any real
effect on them and, for some, can actually serve to empower some
angels. For the most part, while they are not vulnerable to holy
power, they are more vulnerable to demonic power, which does
more damage. Demonic afflictions are also more effective on
angels, as well as some fallen angels having ways to cast
afflictions on angels through things like their corrupted aura
of the fallen. Typically, most angels are like this, with almost
none of them being affected by holy energy effects, but can be
affected by demonic effects and fallen angel effects.
- Angelic Holy Presence Empowerment: Like demons who are able to
gain power from sinful desires, angels have their own way to
more easily regain their power and even amp their power if their
power is full. By absorbing energy from a holy place, or a holy
item, they are able to replenish their power. This could be as
simple as drinking holy water, or even walking into a holy place
to recover strength from the holy place, like a church or
sanctified area. For the most part, these items and places help
replenish an angel's power when they need a faster recovery, and
can even help strengthen them if used. When fighting battles in
sanctified places or in places like churches, angels gain an
advantage as the holiness of the holy place they are not only
restores some of an angel's power as they fight, but also tend
to weaken unholy presences like demons due to the holy presence.
As such, angels usually fight best in places that are holy since
they are able to constantly recover some of their power.
However, depending on the area, it's not often all of their
power that gets restored, and typically, this also depends on
the angel and how much of an affinity for absorbing holy energy
from presences they have. Another thing to note is that this
method takes longer to recharge archangels, since archangels
typically have more power than normal angels to restore, making
this better for normal angels, but this does also work for
archangels even if it's to a lesser degree. Typically, holy
places are the best places to do this, or using certain holy
items as only certain holy items will do this (like holy water).
For example, an angel cannot gain power from a burning ring of
holy oil, as it doesn't give off a kind of holy power they can
absorb.
- Angel Radio: Angels have their own communication network,
dubbed by mortals as "Angel Radio". Typically, even angels have
come to refer to this as angel radio, and use it to communicate
with each other when needed. This is shared among all angels,
with any angel being able to communicate on it, and hear what's
going on. Even nephilim that are not full angels are able to tap
into this with training or the right angel forcing communication
with them. Usually the main use of this is for them to
communicate with each other, but there is another use for this
in which angels can hear the prayers of mortals. Usually, it's
rare for lower angels to get prayers specifically, but some
angels respond to prayers and will actually use this to help
mortals who need it (usually grand priest angels who's primary
job is to build faith in humans). Typically, angels are able to
zero in on anyone who prays, even if they are warded, and are
able to go to that person (though they might not be able to
reach them if they are warded). Most angels can hear general
prayers, though typically, specific angels being prayed to can
only be heard by the angel that the mortal is praying to, such
as the Winchesters sometimes using this to call Castiel when
they need him. This can also be used to send tactical
information during large-scale battles, as angels are not only
able to communicate battle plans, but can even do things like
sending SOS signals. This isn't a battle power, just being
mostly for angels who answer prayers in God's place and for
angels to communicate. However, caution is advised for those
that tap into this without Heaven's consent, as those who access
this without heaven's consent are often investigated to see if
the person should have a connection to angel radio or not
(usually investigating nephilim as they are the only one that
can usually tap into this besides angels and the rare fallen
angel.
- Angelic Mimicry/Mortal Reading: Angels have a natural affinity
for mimicking others, in which they can do things like mimicking
someone's actions exactly. Their mimicry is so complete that
they are even able to copy the voices of others, such as
mimicking the voice of someone to lure an enemy into a trap, or
mimicking someone's actions to each muscle movement. This
typically goes along with their ability to read mortals, in
which angels are able to read a mortal's body language usually
fairly easily. The biggest use for this is that most angels can
tell when someone is lying, in which they can tell by reading
the person's body whether or not the person believes they are
telling the truth. While this doesn't help against those that
can suppress their unconscious minds signs at lying (like the
Darkfires and Hazeldines can), it does help angels more easily
read almost anyone that they can read. When combining these two
abilities together, it shows that the angels have a high ability
to read someone, as well as mimic their movements and can even
copy certain combat styles by watching people fight. Typically,
this can help in a fight, since they can more easily learn how
certain combat styles work. However, some beings might not be as
easy to mimic, specifically those that have specific powers that
prevent themselves from being mimicked, and some have abilities
that prevent them from being read by other beings.
- Angelic Cosmic Awareness: Most angels are powerful enough that
they are aware of most things going on in the known universe, as
long as it's something the angels have knowledge of. Angels
typically have a pretty good understanding of much of the forces
of the universe, including those many people wouldn't think
would be important. On top of that, most angels have such an
awareness of the universe that most angels can detect changes in
space and time, in which angels can tell when someone is time
traveling and changing time, or tell when someone is teleporting
if they can track the teleportation. For the most part, angels
are designed to be able to handle most threats in the known
universe, and aside from things like primordial beings, they
typically have knowledge of most things going on, including
knowing things like when portals to alternate dimensions have
been created as well. However, there is a limit to this, as
certain types of creatures are not always known or angels might
not have awareness of the entire universe. One such example is
that angels typically don't have any cosmic knowledge of
primordial beings, with one example being the The'Galin (though
many angels do now know about them due to the war being fought).
For the most part, some angels have faced primordial beings and
simple described heaven's response as "alarms are going off that
haven't gone off since creation", which shows that their
knowledge only goes so far.
- Multi-Linguist/Language Learning: Most angels and fallen
angels have been around a long time, and know a great many
languages used by people on earth. Typically, most angels know
almost every language on earth, including ancient and forgotten
languages. The most common one to hear from an angel is
Enochian, in which Enochian is the language used by angels, and
is usually the default language they have that is used in Heaven
by angels. However, angels are also able to speak other
languages, with their second specialty being Hebrew, Biblical
Hebrew and other ancient languages that were used to write the
bible, which many angels know about. However, they are not
limited to these languages, as they can speak almost any modern
language, such as English, French, Spanish, and many other
languages. Because angels have been around since the creation of
humanity, they have mostly seen every language that has
developed thanks to man, and know almost every language there is
to know since they also knew each language before the languages
all split off and eventually became different languages. Due to
this, they have no need to learn new languages, as they
automatically gain this through interacting with humans and can
learn other languages after hearing enough of the language.
- Angelic Supernatural Life Span: Angels and archangels, being
angelic beings, have an indefinite lifespan. Thanks in part to
their supernatural regeneration, and their design in being a
type of creature that doesn't get old, angels don't age, and no
known angel has died of old age that hadn't given up their grace
to become mortal. While an angel can still be killed in battle,
or killed in a few different ways, they cannot die of old age,
because their angelic regeneration and their design has been set
up so that they do not grow old. Most angels stay in the same
form they were since the dawn of creation (as they are created
in their prime form), in which their angelic self typically
takes the form of the form they take when they were created. For
the most part, it's not known if angels will eventually die of
old age and just haven't yet, since it's not known if older
angel's regeneration can break down over time, which often
causes many regenerative types to age once they get old enough
they start losing their regenerative abilities. Since no angel
has reached that point, it is believed that they have an
indefinite life span, and since it's believed angels were
designed this way, the angels are believed to never have to
worry about dying of old age unless they choose to by giving up
their grace and living a human life (which some have done).
Since the life span is indefinite, no one knows if angels or
archangels can die of old age. It's not said by those like God,
so it's believed that they have an indefinite life span unless
something in them is changed by those like God. However, this
doesn't mean they can't be killed in battle, as they can still
be killed by things like angel blades (normal angels can be
killed by angel blades), or things like death scythes (which can
also kill archangels).
- Supernatural Telepathy: This ability lets an angel communicate
telepathically with anyone they can connect to. Typically this
power uses their angel radio, in which they use it to tune to a
person if they know where they are in order to communicate with
them. This lets them communicate with other people without
having to speak, with them being able to share thoughts directly
with others. However, usually the angel has to know where the
person is to use this since they have to know where to send
their thoughts. However, this doesn't apply to those who
establish permanent connections, such as connecting to other
family members. This lets angels not only communicate with those
they have a permanent connect with, but can also tell them where
they are at any time should they require to find them or need to
be summoned to them (which they typically do with their angel
radio). Those who are set up with permanent connections have to
accept the connection, and even then, they can sever it if they
choose to.
- Weapon Intangible Storing/Summoning: While most angels don't
use a lot of weapons other than angel blades, they are able to
summon their weapons if they know where they are. Similar to
their teleportation power, they can typically call their weapons
to them at any time, as well as some even being able to store
their weapon intangibly on their person where it is with them,
but made intangible in a manner similar to their art of making
their wings intangible. As such, this makes a good way to store
weapons that won't cause problems, as they can use this to store
weapons on them, but being intangible, they don't slow the angel
down to keep with them. Usually, most angels keep their angel
blades in their sleeves, where their blades are summoned and
called out of their sleeves when they need them. Some angels
have their own unique arts for this, but this is a good way to
store weapons in a way that doesn't require them to carry them,
but also doesn't bog down their spirits with weapons like those
that use the attach items to self power. They are able to store
any weapon on them they desire, however, unlike the attach item
to self power, they cannot summon the weapon back to them if
they are separated from it, and they typically have to go and
get the weapon before they can de-summon it. Some have unique
arts for this, but typically this is the best way to store
weapons for an angel.
- Angelic Enhanced Senses; Depending on the angels, most angels
have highly enhanced senses. Most are able to do things like
seeing things from very far away, or hearing a conversation
going on a block away. They also have a strong enough sense of
smell that they can tell who people are just by the scent they
give off, and can even smell someone's DNA through scent alone.
Thanks to this, angels have very strong senses, and are on par
with almost any supernatural's senses. Each angel has their own
balance of senses, with some having lesser senses and other
stronger senses, usually depending on the angel and what their
specialties are. Typically, most angels do have very strong
senses, which can also be a weakness to a degree, since enhanced
senses can be taken advantage of, such as taking advantage of a
strong sense of smell by using a strong smell to overwhelm them.
This does depend on the angel, as some don't have as enhanced
senses, but those that do can be very difficult to avoid. Some
can even gain unique senses, such as fire users gaining a
thermal sense, or a lightning user being able to sense
electrical signals around them, mostly depending on the skills
and how the angel uses them.
- Angelic Sixth Sense: Much like vampires and other
supernaturals, angels can sense the presence of other beings,
and sensing who and what they are. This can sense not only one's
presence, but their levels of energy and how tough they are,
allowing the user to gauge how they stand against them, as well
as often being able to tell what they are by their presence if
the user recognizes what kind of presence it is. However, this
can be deceived by skilled opponents, sometimes not appearing
correctly if the user can't sense the opponent's full power or
use powers that fool this sense. There are also skills that hide
one's presence so those with this sense can't sense them, or
some opponents can suppress their presence so they're not fully
able to be sensed. While this isn't always the best judge of
someone's abilities, it can provide a slight insight to help the
user as to what they face or what's around them.
- Angelic Mind Resistance: All angels have a resistance to mind
alterations and other powers that influence the mind thanks to
their design. When the angels were created, they weren't granted
minds like those of mortal beings, but rather, they had unique
minds that were "programmed" by their creator (like God
programming the angels he created). As such, they have
resistance to powers that might interfere with this, as they all
have a base "programming" that essentially cannot be altered by
most creatures. As a result, most abilities that affect the mind
don't work well on angels, though some stronger abilities do
still work but to a reduced effect. The only real exception to
this is those that have figured out how this "programming"
works, like those like Crowley have researched angels enough and
even managed to use rods that were drilled into an angel's mind
to "rewrite" their minds to a small degree. While this is not
possible to do on a large scale, those that know how this works
can actually reduce this defense by actually damaging their
heads, such as stabbing certain parts of their brain. However,
the specifics of how to do this are not known, and no one
besides a select few even know that Crowley was able to do it in
the past.
- Enhanced Angel/Archangel and Combat Trained Physical Stats:
All angels and archangels are all trained and are highly
enhanced warriors designed specifically for battle. For the most
part, all angels have highly enhanced physical stats in some
way. Each angel typically has different abilities, with each
angel being different in their physical combat. This depends not
only on the angel specifically, but also depends on their
training and how they train their physical stats. Some may focus
on strength, some on defense, or some on speed. This is usually
specific to each angel, with archangels usually even having
higher physical stats than normal angels due to being designed
as heaven's most powerful weapons. Angels and archangels are
usually very tough opponents, and most typically have stats that
let them compete with a lot of higher level supernaturals,
whether they are normal angel, grand priest angel or even
archangel. As such, it's hard to predict the individual stats of
every angel, but one typical rule is that angels usually either
focus one to three stats specifically, or they may focus all
their stats evenly. If they focus one to three stats
specifically, other stats not trained are typically not as high
with certain exceptions. And when an angel focuses all their
stats evenly, they typically have lesser stats, but all their
stats are usually fairly even. Again, this does depend on the
angel and their own preferences, as well as the level of angel
that one is up against.
Transformations:
- Full Angel Form (Some might be locked on earth): Typically
angels do not use their full angel form on earth, mostly because
the world suffers if they are in their angel form for too long.
Some are more spiritual than others, but typically, these forms
are the angel's true forms that they usually only take in
Heaven. However, most angels can use these forms in a limited
capacity on earth, where they can release their full angelic
power during a battle. However, this is something to be used
sparingly, since angels powers typically are dangerous to use on
earth, especially around mortals who can't handle their enhanced
presences. It is also worth noting that many archangels
typically are locked in how much of their power they can use on
earth, since the archangels are typically much more powerful
than the living world can usually handle. As such, many
archangels are limited in how much power they can release when
on earth, with many stronger angels having to simply rely on
their normal forms if they can't release their full power.
However, typically, stronger angels that can't use their full
form on earth usually are stronger in their base form as a
result, and some like Michael and Sariel are not able to use
their true forms on earth, but they are usually as strong as
they can be on earth due to being so powerful (meaning that they
can keep up with transformed beings even though they can't use
their transformation on earth). This usually depends on the
angel, as some angels might gain additional stats and powers
when using their true forms, since some angels suppress certain
abilities when in the mortal world.
Weaknesses:
- For the most part, any angel's biggest thing that can hold
them back is sin. If an angel sins, or an angel, for some
reason, loses their confidence in their grace with Heaven, they
can actually lose their power if they can't pull themselves out
of it. And if they are caught sinning and chose not to repent,
they could even be cast out of Heaven and be forced to become
fallen angels as a result. This means that the best way to take
an angel out of play is typically to make them sin and if that
sin goes to their head, it can affect their power. While this
can be reversed by changing their mindset if they are in good
standing with Heaven, an angel's mind can actually hinder
themselves. Sin is always the biggest problem for angels, as any
angel can tell you from experience of what happened with Lucifer
that sin can be something that can ruin an angel's life. Just
because angels were created to be divine beings doesn't mean
they aren't tempted by desires just like mortals are, which
means that an angel can be tempted the same way mortals can.
- While it is hard to kill an angel, demonic energy and fallen
angel power can both be used to more easily damage them, with
higher level fallen angels and demons being able to kill angels
depending on their power. Demons have demonic equivalents of
almost every ability an angel has, and demons have counters for
almost everything angels have. As a result, demons typically act
as the natural counters to angels even though many demons were
once angels (with exception to the humans turned demon through
torture in hell). Fallen angels also have skill-sets designed to
be used against demons and angels, in which they have corrupted
energies which are their main power they gain when they become
fallen angels. It is even possible for nephilims and those with
angel power to kill angels as well, since they typically have
the power needed to kill angels. Fallen angels and demons are
the two main beings that can kill angels much more easily, but
any creature can kill an angel with the right weapons and
strategies. For example, normal angels can be killed by angel
blades, no matter who they are wielded by. Some creatures can
even kill angels without needing special weapons, such as
Leviathans or The'Galin who are able to kill angels without
needing any special weapons other than their own abilities since
they are beings that can overpower angels. To an extent, there
are some other primordial beings that could kill angels as well,
and this also includes those like Toranoraos, Death, God, and
even Galian.
- Interrupting an angel's regeneration and killing them
typically requires special weapons in order to kill them. Normal
angels can be killed by normal angel blades, archangel blades,
and by certain weapons designed to kill angels. Archangels
cannot be killed by normal angel blades, but they can still be
hurt by them, and can be killed by archangel blades. For the
most part, things like death scythes, weapons that can kill most
creatures (like the Colt), or other things designed to kill any
creature like the First Blade can also be used to kill angels
and archangels alike. Varanium is also a good way to interrupt
angelic regeneration, as angelic regeneration is a type of
supernatural regeneration that can be interrupted. This means
that they are vulnerable to regeneration negation abilities as
well, which do work just as well as they do against other
supernaturals. Angels can also still be hurt like normal beings
can, so they are able to be damaged (even if it's reduced thanks
to abilities like their hardened skin), and this is something
that can be used against them. For example, cutting an angel's
head off and getting it from the head can typically buy time for
someone to get away if they cannot kill an angel. There are
plenty of strategies that still work on angels even if they
don't die. Aside from their angelic regeneration, they are just
as vulnerable to damage as most supernaturals are.
- There are also other abilities and items that also do more
damage to angels. One such weapon are special brass knuckles
carved with Enochian sigils, that can be used to temporarily
interrupt an angel's power if they are hit with it.
Specifically, this weapon was designed by the British Men of
Letters to fight angels. Heavenly weapons can also be used to
kill angels to a degree, in which heavenly weapons can kill
angels as fairly easily as they kill fallen angels and/or
demons. This doesn't just apply to angel blades, but can also
use certain other weapons to fight angels. Another thing very
useful against angels is magic and psychic power. Magic that is
not holy based can actually do fair amounts of damage to an
angel, with dark/black magic or demonic magic being able to
actually kill them. It has even been suggested that angels could
even be killed reading books with the right magic worked into
them. Certain magic spells can also restrain angels, such as
certain paralysis spells, something that angels can be damaged
by. Psychics are also powerful enough that they can hurt, and
even kill an angel depending on their ability and power. For the
most part, these powers depend on the user, and whether or not
they can overpower an angel. However, archangels are harder to
kill with these methods and take highly reduced damage from
these kinds of weapons and items thanks to being much tougher
beings.
- Burning holy oil is also a great way to damage or trap an
angel. The first method is using a burning ring of holy oil to
trap an angel, in which they cannot pass through the burning
holy oil ring or they will die. However, higher level angels
(archangels specifically) can be trapped, but this doesn't kill
them if they try to pass through the ring. Depending on the
angel, most can be trapped in this, and depending on the level
of angel, some may or may not be able to use their powers when
in the circle. This is a great way to trap an angel if one
doesn't have access to special angel trap sigils, and simply
requires getting the angel into the circle and then using
something to ignite the holy oil. The other use for this is
something Dean and Sam Winchester came up with, where they use a
bottle of holy oil like a Molotov cocktail, and throw it at an
angel. When done, this not only does extreme damage to an angel,
but also can cast them out of an area, sending them somewhere
randomly. This even works on archangels, and while archangels
don't take as much damage, it is still very useful for casting
them out of an area. Holy oil is fairly easy to get a hold of,
as there are many ways for people to make it these days, so if
one knows where to luck, just about anyone can get a hold of
holy oil to use against angels (Though it also works on fallen
angels as well).
- Angels that take vessels are typically more vulnerable to
certain exorcisms, as taking vessels, while useful when used
properly, can be dangerous to the angel to a certain degree.
There is a reason that many angels don't bother with the
possession method anymore, since it does come with drawbacks.
Angels who possess others are more vulnerable to certain spells
and sigils that can be used to grant temporary control back to
the original person, which is even more dangerous to those that
try to use trickery to possess people. Another item that that
works very well is an item developed by the British Men of
Letters (available in both London and Olympus), which is a pulse
generator that is capable of being activated and almost
instantly casting an angel out of a person that is in range of
the pulse of the device. Typically, those possessing humans have
a bigger chance to gain new abilities in the long run, but are
more vulnerable to exorcisms as a result, so this can be a
danger to the angel. It is also worth noting that if a vessel
chooses not to let an angel possess them any longer, even if
they agreed initially they can cast out the angel if they have
the will to overpower the angel's will, and they can force out
the angel as a result.
- Most who have fought angels or fallen angels may know that an
angel's grace can be taken by slitting their throat in a certain
spot. When done, their power is depleted, and they lose most of
their abilities while they don't have grace. This is a good way
to not only de-power an angel or archangel, but can also be used
to take grace and some people have developed ways to inject it
into themselves to power themselves up with angel abilities,
like Asmodeus, who have used this method in the past to power up
angel abilities. If their grace is taken, they become mortal
until they recover their energy, which, depending on how much is
taken, can take anywhere from a day to weeks. This is the best
way to take out any angel or fallen angel, as without their
grace, they lose most of their abilities and are typically
reduced to being mortal as they lose even their angelic
regeneration if they don't have enough grace. This grace
typically acts like a power source for their holy energy, in
which they generate power for their bodies and spirits from
their grace. This not only puts an angel at a disadvantage, but
can actually be used against the angel by those that can use the
grace. However, it is not recommended to use this grace without
knowing how potent it is, as it has been known to burn people
from the inside out, even killing some who have tried without
knowing how to handle the power of the angelic grace. This is
especially true of archangel grace.
- There are plenty of exorcism chants and Enochian sigils that
can be used against angels. The most common one is an exorcism,
where the angel is typically sent back to heaven, or in some
cases, somewhere randomly in the world. This is usually done
with a special blood seal, which is commonly used by those who
have fought angels to cast them out of an area, and doesn't
require a chant or spell other than just putting their hand on
it to activate it. This only works once, but when used, this is
a very effective way to cast them out of an area temporarily.
Exorcisms are the same way, but rather they work through chants
and spoken spells rather than seals. Exorcisms simply require
the angel or fallen angel to hear the exorcism chant, and then
they are cast out, though one needs to be aware that fallen
angels and angels have different exorcisms that must be done.
Typically, spoken exorcisms last longer than just using a blood
sigil to cast them out. Being cast out with a sigil can usually
take up to an hour for an angel to return, though a true
exorcism chant or spell can send an angel away for up to a week.
However, these chants don't do damage to an angel, but are
mostly just designed to send them away which is useful for those
trying to run away from angels as it typically grants them a way
to cast angels out so they have time to escape.
- There are other sigils that are also effective against angels.
The first is an angel de-powering sigil, which when activated,
does exactly what the name implies. Any angels within a 20 foot
radius will temporarily lose their powers, including their
regeneration. This requires blood as well, drawing a series of
sigils that have to be written in Enochian. When used, they
de-power any angels nearby, though they have reduced effects on
archangels, since archangels are more powerful, though it does
reduce the power of an archangel temporarily. This works
temporarily, allowing opponents to fight angels more easily
while it's in effect. However, the angel's powers do return
after a while. The next sigil type is the angel trap, which is
designed specifically like the angel equivalent of a demon trap.
These are drawn on the ground or on a surface, and if an angel
walks on it, they are trapped in the circle, which removes their
power while they are in the circle thanks to the sigil being
similar to the de-powering sigil. And just like the de-powering
sigil, this has reduced effect on archangels, in which they
might be able to use some of their lesser abilities and not be
hindered completely when this is used on them. However, overall
these are two pretty effective sigils for de-powering angels.
- The next sigil that can be used against angels is an
imprisoning sigil, which can be placed on things like rooms to
trap angels in the room. Drawn in blood like many of the other
sigils, this can be activated by someone to trap an angel in a
room until they find a way to break out, with this being a great
way to temporarily imprison an angel. This can be very
effective, and while it doesn't stop them from moving or using
their power, their power cannot open up rooms that these sigils
are used one. These typically make great traps against angels,
since one can usually use this to trap an angel in a room if
they are trying to escape from an angel. The last sigil is one
that wards a place from being able to be found by angels. This
mark does more than just make something unable to be found
though, as it can also be used to prevent an angel from entering
a certain area, or be used to keep an angel from being able to
tell what goes on in an area, as this even makes it so angels
cannot hear what goes on in places warded against angels, making
it almost like a barrier that cuts off an angel's access to the
area that is warded. While angels can break through these in
groups, and archangels can more easily break these, they are
still fairly useful at times.
