Prologue:
- Prologue Theme: Combat Drop (
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpIpPXaF8So
)
"At around 1200 hours, we lost contact with an AI robot police
team who was investigating the USS Milano's crash in Midtown
along with the detective teams. They were investigating strange
readings down in the sewers near the crash."
That was the beginning of the briefing, where the Black Wolf
Team was gathered and ready.
At the front, their leader, Kindron Darkfire, sat and listened.
Kindron: Are we sure this wasn't some AI error? Could the team
mistake each other for enemies in the dark or something?
Black Wolf Team Member 1: Oh please... AIs don't make those
kinds of mistakes anymore! This is the 2500s.
Kindron sighs. He was showing his age again. He was used to AI
data not being reliable from the time period he grew up in, and
hundreds of years were not able to break him out of the habit of
checking AI work to make sure no mistakes were made. AI, these
days, made less mistakes than people did.
Briefing Officer: It's always possible the robots could have
been mistaken about each other. But the video they sent back
when they claimed to be attacked doesn't appear doctored or some
kind of error... He says as he hits a button on his wrist device
and a short video of a black reptilian creature lunging at the
robot with the robot screaming in terror before the video cut
out.
Black Wolf Team Member 2: I heard there was a rumor of
crocodiles in the sewers, but that's kind of crazy. He says
jokingly.
Kindron: They look like something from Jurassic Park. He says
jokingly.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: From what?
Black Wolf Team Member 1: It's a movie from the Hollywood era...
You know. Before Generative AI Storytelling. He explains.
Black Wolf Team Member 2: Yeah, you gotta remember that the
commander is ancient. If he were any older, we'd be putting him
in a museum. He says jokingly about Kindron.
Kindron sighs again. Yep... Kindron felt his age again.
Kindron was one of the first people augmented with cybernetics
to extend his life, and it sometimes showed how old he was.
Kindron couldn't help but remember the fall of Hollywood in
2088, when AI had basically become advanced enough to take over
storytelling, and was used to allow people to generate their own
stories in games and movies that could be almost anything the
person wanted. Generative AI Storytelling was something that
made Hollywood obsolete when it was able to generate stories
people wanted without big production values, and eventually
became a staple in every household. Movies, music, video games,
and anything AI could replicate basically became a thing of the
past (or classic storytelling as it would come to be called).
Kindron: Let's keep it on task people. He says to the team.
Briefing Officer: Right. He says, going back to the briefing. He
changes the image on screen over to the ship, and 10 hatched
eggs in the cargo hold. Now, we believe that these eggs that
were brought here by the research team on the Milano hatched and
are now running around. We think there may be more than 10 of
these creatures now, based on missing person reports that are
still coming in from that area. And when we sent in a drone to
confirm the fate of the robot police team, we found bits and
pieces of the robots. Based on the teeth marks and broken
mechanical pieces scattered around, we assume the creatures
probably ate the robots. The drones had trouble moving through
the tunnels, and we didn't want them to get destroyed, so we
called them back.
Kindron: So these things must eat organic and inorganic matter?
He asks.
Briefing Officer: That's our assumption. A block around the ship
crash has started showing teeth marks and chomps of the
buildings and street lights but no one has seen the creatures.
But based on the police robots video data, we built a 3D model
of the creatures. He says as he taps the button and a model of
the creature seems to appear, which stood at 7 feet tall when
standing straight up.
Kindron: They look like black velociraptors. He says, noticing
how the creatures looked like a strange mix of velociraptor and
lizard.
Briefing Officer: Which is why we termed this creatures
"Xenoraptors" for the time being. He says in response to
Kindron's statement.
Kindron: So, what's the mission here? Containment, capture, or
extermination? He asks.
Briefing Officer: We would like you to capture or obtain samples
of the creatures. But if containment is impossible, then you're
to exterminate the creatures. This appears to be a highly
invasive species, and the mission logs from the Milano said
these eggs were found on a barren planet that was all desert.
These eggs were the only life they could find outside of
microscopic organisms in the dirt. There were what appeared to
be remains of civilization there that was long gone. And it is
highly possible that these creatures may have been responsible,
and the eggs may have gone into some kind of hibernation until
life returned. It's a theory we can't rule out. He explains.
Kindron: So, we're investigating the sewers first?
Briefing Officer: That's right. You'll enter into the tunnel on
Frankson Street, and then go down into the sewer from there.
Black Wolf Team is being deployed in 2 hours. Be safe out there,
and be ready for anything. We don't know anything about these
creatures. He warns.
Black Wolf Team Member 2: Alright guys! Let's lock and load!
Kindron gets up.
Kindron: You heard the man. We deploy in two hours. I want
everyone armored up, and those that have cybernetic uplinks are
going to stream video links to command so they can monitor the
mission. And those with motion detector trackors and vision
modification cybernetics are going to use them to keep an eye on
the area because we don't know what kind of vision yet will be
best for detecting these things. Nightvision and Thermal first,
but we will have a few people with X-Ray vision as well just to
be safe. He says, tapping his eye which glows for a moment since
it was cybernetic.
Briefing Officer: For this mission, we're equipping you with the
newest Vauk Plasma Rifles, the M99 Assault Weapon and Wesley
Energy Pistols. He says as he motions and someone comes in with
new weapons.
The members of the team get up and run over excitedly.
Black Wolf Team Member 5: It's Christmas time! I heard these new
models can fire for an hour straight! I can't wait to try these
out!
Briefing Officer: The assault rifles have a normal shot mode and
a grenade blast mode. It's a bit earlier than we were going to
equip you with new gear, but the new models should give you an
edge just in case something goes wrong.
One of the Black Wolf Team members checks the assault rifle they
grabbed and checks the power source before smiling to the group.
Black Wolf Team Member 4: We're gonna kick some major a*s with
these babies! Those lizards won't know what hit them. He says
excitedly.
It was a happy moment for the team, getting new weapons.
Now the time had come though for the team to show why they were
one of the two best teams in the Earth Defense Force. A team of
almost all cybernetically enhanced human soldiers, this was one
of the two teams they called whenever they had difficult
missions to give out.
The team goes to get ready for the mission, now fully hyped up
with their new weapons.
End of Prologue.
Main Story:
- Into the Sewers Theme: LV 426 (
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wG3k5qx0Zzw
)
As the team got off their choppers and headed into the tunnel,
they watch and aim their guns, ready to shoot anything that
popped up.
Kindron goes to the access tunnel to the sewers, and when he
opens the door, the members of the team step back.
Black Wolf Team Member 1: Oh man... That smells awful! He says.
Kindron: Either the maintenance on the sewers has stopped, or
the creatures may have altered the conditions down there... So
those with scanning cybernetics, make sure you keep a good
reading on the air content so we don't suffocate or something if
these things altered the conditions down there. He explains.
They take turns going down the ladder into the access tunnel,
with Kindron in front. The group follows in a line behind
Kindron, due to the tunnel not being very wide.
Black Wolf Team Member 5: Wow... A group of men in a tight
tunnel... What a day this has been. He says sarcastically.
Kindron: Quiet. He says to the team member. And no grenade shots
while we're underground. We don't want to cave in the tunnels on
us.
The group nods and goes down the tunnel and comes out into a
larger tunnel as they have to walk through the sewer water.
Kindron: So far, it doesn't look like there's anything out of
place other than the maintence systems must be off-line. He says
as he carefully scans the area.
Black Wolf Team Member 2: Yeah. We can tell that without the
scans. Thanks, boss. He says sarcastically.
Kindron: I have motion tracking and biological scans active.
Hopefully we'll detect them if they try to attack us. If these
things are living down here, they may be ambush hunters. He
explains.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Yeah. That would make sense. Based on
the videos of the AI robots that were attacked, I'm willing to
bet these things like to sneak up on their prey. I'm guessing
they might use tactics like crocodiles or alligators.
Kindron: I agree. He says with a nod.
The group carefully moves along, walking through the water.
Kindron: Keep an eye on the water. Our scans aren't going to be
much good with the sewer water. Too many minerals, bacteria, and
movement from us walking through the water to get an accurate
scan. If these creatures swim, they could attack from underneath
us. He says as he walks.
They keep walking through the water for hours watching and
preparing for combat until they reach an open area, which looked
like a control system area. There were computers lining the
walls, most of which seem to have tooth marks and were missing
entire chunks of the consoles.
But that wasn't the part that made the team freeze in their
tracks.
Throughout the area, there were what looked like hatched eggs
similar to the ones on the ship. But in this area, there seemed
to be hatched eggs as far as the eye could see in the area.
There were areas for each set of eggs, where materials were laid
around the eggs, almost like a barrier to protect them, and some
of it had been eaten away by little teeth, which shows that the
barrier also acted as food for the juvenile creatures.
Kindron: Oh my god... He says to himself, scanning the area with
all the eggs.
- The Nest Theme: The Complex (
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Eeq0T5HGI4
)
Kindron: I count 537 eggs with my biological scanner for this
area. With an error for about 30 or so eggs based on the pieces
of the eggs lying around.
Black Wolf Team Member 4: This must be their nest. And the stuff
from the control consoles was used as nest material. He says in
awe.
Kindron walks over to the eggs, taking out a combat knife to
examine the eggs. He uses the tip of the knife to move the
pieces of the egg to look at the remains of the fluid from the
eggs while also scanning the contents.
Kindron: Well... The substance in the eggs doesn't appear
dangerous. It's contents are similar to the lizard eggs, but
there's foreign bacteria in it that can't be identified.
Probably alien in origin. He then looks at the massive amount of
hatched eggs. They were definitely now dealing with more than 10
of the creatures. Which Kindron had expected them to reproduce,
but not so quickly.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Boss, you think they have a queen or
something laying eggs?
Kindron: No. I don't think so. The 10 eggs that were on the ship
were all identical, so there's nothing to suggest one of them
would have been different. At least, by normal standards. It is
possible any female could become a queen. He says to the team
member. But look at the pattern of the eggs. They're laid out in
groups. If it were a queen, they'd lay each of the eggs more
spread out. Look at the groups... Each group has between 5-10
eggs. And each group seems to form its own little nest in the
colony. It's like a penguin colony but with lizard eggs. And
these eggs are bigger than ostrich eggs.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: I'm guessing either some or all of the
original 10 must have paired off and spawned eggs in other
areas.
Kindron: Actually, I think it's more likely they reproduce
asexually. He says.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: How did you come to that conclusion
boss?
Kindron: Well, all of these eggs look the same. There's no
variation in appearance. And my scans show that there are no
genetic variations between each of them. Which means that these
things don't rely on genetic variation to survive like creatures
like humans. And given that these things seem to reproduce
quickly, they may rely on numbers to survive. Asexual
reproduction means that they can make more as long as even one
of them survives.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Boss... These creatures have been down
here less than a day. These kind of numbers after such a short
time is a huge problem.
Kindron nods. Yeah. I know. We guessed they were an invasive
species. And it also explains why they're eating organic and
inorganic matter. They must have evolved to eat whatever they
can fit in their stomachs. It's possible Command's theory on
them killing their world was true. It would make sense why
there's no civilization there.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: And now they're in a new environment
filled with fresh food that can sustain their numbers. Not only
that, but they may be reproducing specifically because there's
so much food.
Kindron: I agree. That's also a huge problem. He says as he
stands up, putting his combat knife away. Alright... We need to
report back to HQ. I think this just got way too big for just
our team to handle on our own. At the very least, we need to
call White Thunderbird Team to come in and help us out. He says.
Black Wolf Team Member 2: You sure, boss? I think we can gun
these things down. Plus, we need to if they reproduce as fast as
they do. If we wait and come back, who knows how many could be
spawned in that time.
Kindron: I know. They could overrun the entire city within
weeks. But we don't fight unless we have to. Keep in mind, this
is only one of a few possible colonies. We saw them with a large
colony here, but there may be other colonies too. He says. We're
coming back with more people. Either that, or we need to find a
solution that can wipe out a large number of them.
Black Wolf Team Member 1: Yeah. This is pretty terrifying to me.
I vote we head back and come back with some poison gas or
something. He says nervously.
Kindron nods.
Kindron: Unfortunately, I don't think we can win this fight. He
says as he motions for the group to go back the way they came.
He leads the group as he tries to retrace their steps. But since
they were an hour or so from where they came in, he cautiously
leads them back.
As they walk, one of the team members walks next to Kindron to
ask him a question.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Boss, do you think the video we saw is
their final form? Or could the ones that are still down here
still be juveniles?
Kindron's heart drops at the question. Because it was something
he hadn't thought about yet. He had mostly been focusing on the
nest, but just remembered again that it had only been less than
day since they had reproduced.
Kindron: I don't know. It's possible that they could be
juveniles. They obviously must mature pretty fast. Probably a
defense mechanism so they can start hunting quickly.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Maybe the older ones hit a form we
haven't seen yet?
Kindron: It's possible. He says carefully. We don't know how
these things mature yet, and what their stages of life are. So
we can only guess right now.
Just then, Kindron sees movement in the upper part of the tunnel
and shoots down one of the creatures that was trying to crawl
away on the ceiling of the tunnel on all fours.
The creature is shot dead and falls to the ground. It gurgles a
bit as it then fully dies.
The other members were spooked, not just by Kindron shooting,
but by the fact that one of the creatures had gotten so close
before they had realized it.
Kindron runs over and takes out his combat knife again. He takes
out a few tubes and starts taking samples.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: It was alone. Think it was a scout?
Kindron: It definitely was. And my shooting may have signaled
the others that there's someone else here. They may come to
investigate. He says as he works quickly to gather the samples.
Kindron looks at the tubes where he had put tissue samples and
organ samples. And then a bigger tube where he put the creatures
scales and skin tissue into.
Kindron: Let's go. He says as he carries the tubes with him. He
wasn't taking any chances sticking around for the other
creatures to come, which was something he was expecting to
happen very soon.
As they continue walking toward their entry point, Kindron looks
at the tubes.
Kindron: Weird. Their blood is completely clear. No hemoglobin
or any other pigmented substances in their blood. And their
organ tissue is translucent. He says as he looks at the samples
as they walk. He wasn't going to stick around and study the
samples, but he tries to study them as they walk real quick
before putting them away.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Why is their blood clear? And
translucent organs?
Kindron: I'm guessing there's a reason. We just don't know what
it is yet. There's biological reasons for almost everything in a
creature. Like how human blood is red due to the hemoglobin.
Other creatures have different colored blood based on the
pigments in their blood. He explains.
Kindron puts the samples away and walks.
Kindron then stops the group and points his gun down the tunnel.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: What's wrong boss? He says as he
points his gun.
Kindron: Team. Everyone with cybernetic scans need to confirm my
readings. Motion tracking all over and biological scans show
something on the walls and the ceiling. He whispers to the
group.
Black Wolf Team Member 6: I got the readings too boss... I don't
see anything, but scans definitely show something moving toward
us. Slowly, but it's moving. He says as a few others also
confirm the readings.
The group all point their weapons, watching and backing up
slowly.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Boss... I got nothing on nightvision
or infrared. Nothing at all. But the motion trackers are going
crazy right now. It's like they're lining the walls and ceiling.
He whispers to Kindron.
Kindron nods.
Kindron: I know. I can confirm I'm getting the same readings.
It's like something is moving in very slowly, and being careful
not to be detected. He whispers as he then switches to X-ray for
a moment and sees nothing, before switching back to normal
vision.
Black Wolf Team Member 7: Boss. I'm using sonar to try and get a
reading, and I'm not getting anything either. But I am still
getting biological signs. He whispers.
Kindron thinks as the group continues to step back.
Kindron: Wait... Clear blood, translucent organs... He says
before he shoots where his motion tracker was detecting
movement.
And as he shoots, creatures seem to appear and fall to the
ground, dead or injured.
Kindron: That's why they have clear blood! They camouflage! He
yells as he starts shooting.
As the team starts shooting, they take out some of the creatures
which seem to come out of their camouflage when being hit.
Almost on cue, all the creatures along the walls come out of
camouflage at the same time and are revealed to be all over the
walls and ceiling.
Kindron: Here they come! Open fire! He says, though it was
unnessecary orders since everyone had already started firing on
the creatures.
- Encountering the Xenoraptors Theme: Ripley's Rescue (
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uk5G4Yhq3tU
)
The creatures start swarming in, as Kindron and his team move
back to try and gun down the creatures which started running at
them with terrifying speed.
One of the creatures manages to get to one of the team members
and bites the man's throat before being gunned down, though the
team member died quickly as blood poured from his throat where
the creature bit down on the artery.
Black Wolf Team Member 6: They got Connor! He says desperate as
he continues shooting, barely stopping the creatures from making
it to him.
Black Wolf Team Member 4: Damn these things are fast! He says as
they gun down more of the creatures, failing to stop a few from
getting to other members and also biting out vital arteries in
order to make the person bleed out quickly. And a few even
manage to bite into the skull, biting through the helmet of the
team members they attack.
Black Wolf Team Member 5: They're coming from behind as well! He
says desperately as he shoots the xenoraptors coming from
behind, having detected movement and biological scans behind
them as well.
Kindron: Back line, cover our backs! Front handles front! Kneel
down so those in the middle can shoot over your head! Those in
the middle, shoot any that you can hit! He says, giving orders
to the team as he continues shooting.
Black Wolf Team Member 1: Jesus! They're everywhere! He says in
a panic as they shoot the monsters, constantly turning to shoot
as many monsters as he could.
Kindron: They're using their numbers advantage! And they are
definitely using predator tactics to try and take people out
fast! Don't let them get near you! He says as he continues
shooting. It was once again unnecessary orders since the team
had all seen the members that had gotten attacked and were on
the ground dead, or firing on the creatures with their last
breath to save the rest of the team.
Black Wolf Team Member 8: We're surrounded! How do we get out of
here!
Kindron: Keep shooting! The creatures won't sacrifice themselves
to attack us forever! We just need to convince them we're too
dangerous to fight! He says as he continues shooting.
Black Wolf Team Member 9: I'm surprised they have any thing left
to throw at us at this point! He says sarcastically as they
continue shooting.
Kindron and the team continue shooting, trying to figure out
where they can go. But down in the tunnel, there was nowhere to
go for them since both directions were covered with Xenoraptors
on the walls and ceiling.
Quickly, the dead xenoraptor bodies were falling into the water,
and quickly piling up with how quickly the team was shooting
down the raptors. But for every xenoraptor that was shot down, 3
more seem to take its place as the xenoraptors continue pouring
in from both directions.
But then, a sharp noise can be heard from down in the tunnel
that echoed throughout the tunnels, which sounded almost like
one of the creatures trying to speak in its own way in what
sounded like caws and growling.
When the other creatures heard it, they instantly turn away from
the team and start retreating.
Kindron and the team stop shooting, and they carefully analyze
the situation.
Kindron: One of the creatures called for a retreat... He says,
realizing the sound they heard must have been from the one
leading the group.
Kindron and the team carefully move forward, trying to get back
to the entrance.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Boss. If they can communicate with
each other, then that means...
Kindron: I know. They're intelligent. Intelligent enough to
organize. The leader knew they were going to suffer more losses
than they wanted and was able to communicate a retreat order to
all the creatures. It may also indicate that these could just be
the juveniles. The adults may not be on the main front lines. He
says as he moves carefully with the team through the dead bodies
floating in the sewer water to get by the creatures.
Kindron: Watch for any of the other creatures. They may try and
ambush us. Use your biological scans and motion trackers. It
seems their camouflage must render them undetectable otherwise.
That's probably why they didn't approach us immediately when
they showed up in their camo state. When we were looking at
them, they didn't know how to respond. My guess is that they
aren't use to people detecting them in that state. He explains.
Kindron and the others walk as fast as they can through the
water, trying to get back to the tunnel to escape.
After about 35 minutes as they start to get close to the tunnel
they came in, Kindron notices strange movement of the water.
He motions to the team to stop as he moves forward with his gun
drawn.
Kindron: The water... The movement of the water is unnatural up
ahead. He says as he tries to move forward with a few of the
team members.
However, when he does, one of the ones that stepped in front of
him get yanked under the water, which causes Kindron to jump
back.
- Ambush Attack Theme: Bishop's Countdown (
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlzkGd7qaMY
)
Kindron: They're in the water! They're trying to attack us from
under! He says, just before a few team members behind them get
yanked underwater with a yell before going silent when they are
dragged under the water.
The ones dragged under water are presumably killed immediately,
as the water starts to turn red with blood.
Kindron: Fire on the water! He says as he starts shooting, and
the team gets back into the same formation they had earlier,
this time shooting in the water as they shoot at the creatures.
Kindron: Be careful! Don't cook the water too much or our legs
will cook with it! He says to the team as the team fires,
killing some of the creatures in the water.
Kindron moves forward, trying to get to the tunnel where they
entered, hoping that they can make it back.
Kindron continues to move firing at the water. However, while
some of the creatures were shot, some of the creatures manage to
pull more members under the water and kill them as the team
starts to panic, and goes full auto.
Black Wolf Team Member 5: Die you alien bastards! He says as he
fires.
Kindron: STOP! You're going to boil the water and our legs! He
says as he tries to move, but realizes his team was starting to
act in fear rather than logic. Spread out so they have less room
to move around! He orders as he moves forward with the team as
the exit finally comes into view.
Kindron and the team run for the entrance, shooting the water.
The creatures start coming out of the water, and start crawling
on the walls again as they try to attack the group.
Kindron: They're changing tactics! They may still be in the
water too! He says as he shoots the creatures. He also shoots in
the water, along with his team, gunning down creatures.
Black Wolf Team Member 4: We're almost to the exit! We can
bottleneck them in the tunnel out! He says as the group goes
toward the tunnel.
Thankfully, they make it to the tunnel and quickly move into it.
Most of the team that was still alive makes it to the tunnel,
except for one that is caught by the leg and falls to the ground
screaming in pain.
Kindron moves forward to try and shoot the creature beside the
team member, but the creature hides behind the man, biting his
limbs so he couldn't escape, which caused him to scream in pain.
Black Wolf Team Member 8: Johnson! I got you man! He says as he
runs to help the other black wolf team member.
Kindron: NO! Don't! He says desperately, knowing something
wasn't right.
As the Black Wolf Team member gets close, more creature jump
from above where the team couldn't see them from the tunnel, and
rip apart the man as multiple creatures grab hold of him with
their teeth and yank hard. This causes the man to scream in pain
as he falls to the ground.
Kindron: They're trying to bait us to rescue our friend so they
can sneak attack us. Clever little b*stards... He says,
realizing the creature's strategy.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: What do we do boss? We have to save
them!
The two downed team members look to each other. The one called
Johnson pulls out a grenade, and both soldiers look to Kindron
with a solemn nod, and that one look said it all...
Kindron: Everyone back! He says as he moves back, realizing what
was about to happen.
The team member named Johnson pulls the pin on the grenade, and
the grenade explodes, taking a number of creatures as they
screech before being consumed by the explosion, and the other
team member who was downed in an explosion which caves in the
entrance.
The team gets down as the grenade explodes. They were unable to
take cover, but one of the members who had a cybernetic arm
generates an energy shield that the team tries to hide behind.
As the explosion finishes and the entrance was completely
blocked, Kindron goes up to the rubble and tries to listen.
Black Wolf Team Member 5: What are you doing boss? He says
before Kindron holds a finger up, as though telling him to be
quiet.
Kindron scans and listens to what was beyond the rubble where a
group of creatures had gathered. The creatures were clawing and
biting at the rubble, trying to get through the rubble. And they
were slowly succeeding as the creatures devoured the rubble
slowly.
However, what stopped Kindron wasn't them, but the two standing
over the others. And Kindron's scans could tell the creatures
were communicating with each other, but Kindron couldn't tell
what was being communicated. Kindron's scans could almost get
the sounds they were making, but not quite as the sounds came in
distorted, thanks to the rubble Kindron was trying to scan
through. But Kindron could tell it was similar to when the
creature in the tunnel called for retreat, but this time,
Kindron thought maybe they were communicating strategy or what
to do next.
Kindron: What are you saying? He whispers to himself about the
creatures communicating.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Boss! We gotta go! He says as he
starts pulling on Kindron's sleeves. Those things are trying to
break through the rubble! And they'll succeed before long! He
says desperately.
This seems to snap Kindron out of his thoughts as he nods and
runs with the group to the exit.
As one goes up the ladder, he pokes his head out with his gun
ready, ready for another ambush. And thanks to this member also
having motion tracking and biological scan tech in his eye, he
was ready if he detected any sign of movement.
- Time to Escape Theme: Futile Escape (Up to 3:08) (
HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpW2AjQbdbs
)
Thankfully, there were no signs of movement, and the team member
gets up, helping the others as they climb up.
A few of the injured members needed help, as the group took the
opportunity to try and treat the injuries of the injured team
members once they were out of the tunnel.
While the others were going up, Kindron goes on the comm,
sending the signal that they were needing an extraction now, and
got the coordinates where they were to be extracted from.
Kindron was the last one up, and he turns back and looks at the
tunnel.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: You can't save the others, boss...
They're gone. He says, misunderstanding Kindron's look.
Kindron, still silent, takes out a grenade of his own.
Kindron: Not what I was thinking. He says as he pulls the pin.
Black Wolf Team Member 5: Fire in the hole! He yells to the team
as they all run away as Kindron drops the grenade down into the
tunnel. The same way Johnson sacrificed himself, Kindron knew
the grenade would cave in the entrance as he runs to the group.
And just as Kindron planned, the grenade caves in the tunnel
entrance just like the previous grenade had.
Kindron: That will slow them down for a while. He says as he and
his team start making their way out of the tunnel on the street
toward the open area where Kindron was calling for extraction.
Kindron: Extraction is incoming. We just need to wait. And pray
they don't attack again. He says to the group as they make it to
the area where they were supposed to be extracted.
Kindron motions to the uninjured team members as they form a
circle and wait, while some of them focus on treating the
injuries with anti-bacterial treatments given the sewer they
were in so the injuries didn't get infected.
Kindron: When we get back, I want full scans and physical
evaluations on everyone, not just the injured. Not only were we
exposed to who knows what in the sewer, but those aliens
probably have alien substances on them that may cause infections
we don't have counters for. He explains.
While Kindron was talking though, his motion trackers go off all
around him, along with his biological scanners that had stored
the scan data from the previous encounter with the Xenoraptors.

The members with their own scanning immediately jump up from
sitting down and point their guns and start firing. Kindron does
the same.
Kindron: It's another ambush! He says as he starts shooting
where he could scan the creatures with his motion tracking.
This time, the creatures were coming from the buildings, and
from the alleys. And this time, there were more creatures than
ever before.
Black Wolf Team Member 2: JESUS! There's even more of them this
time! He says as he shoots as many creatures as he could.
Kindron shoots as well. But this time, it was different as the
creatures seemed to use the open area to their advantage to
dodge the shots, and the creatures spaced out enough to allow
each other room.
Kindron: Dammit! They're changing tactics again! They're trying
to avoid our shots! He says as he shoots.
Kindron: Keep firing! He says as he switches his assault rifle
to the grenade mode. He then fires grenade shots at the
creatures, which surprises them and kills a few of them. A few
of the others also switch to grenade mode while some stay in
normal assault rifle mode to keep shooting the creatures. The
team members seem to silently coordinate with motions to tell
each other who was to be on grenade and who was to be on assault
rifle shots.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Yeah! Come and get, a*sholes! We can
change tactics too! He says confidently as he shoots his own
grenade mode setting on the assault rifle.
Kindron: Don't get overconfident! In such an open area, we're
gonna be screwed if we don't chase them off soon! He says as he
notices the open area making it easier for the creatures to use
their numbers advantage as even more start pouring out of every
door, window and other place the creatures could come out of.
Black Wolf Team Member 9: Jesus! How many of them are there! How
do they have any left?! He says in horror as he keeps shooting
and a few manage to grab and drag a few of the team members away
before being shot by the other members with their assault rifle
settings.
Black Wolf Team Member 10: Thanks for the save. He says to the
group as he hobbles back, a bite into his leg preventing him
from moving fast.
However, a radio speaker above them plays the sound of the
creatures retreat message as something above them opens fire on
the creatures from above.

The group looks up at the drones that had come from above, as
the creatures hear the retreat message and seemingly retreat.
Though whether it was the message or the drones overhead that
had started shooting the creatures with their own automatic
energy weapons was unclear.
The creatures retreat back where they came from, growling and
snarling as the drones made their appearance known and were
continuing to gun down the creatures they could before the
creatures retreated.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Yeah! Now that's what I'm talking
about! We're saved! He says as he looks up to the drones and
waves to them.
And a few moments after, a large troop ship comes in silently,
with special stealth tech that had kept it hidden while it was
flying in. This kind of ship was designed for stealth rescues so
that it wouldn't get shot down while flying in and picking up
stranded soldiers.
Kindron: Alright! We're out of here team! Retreat and make sure
the injured are put into the ship first! He orders as the group
helps the injured onto the ship, including the one that had just
nearly been pulled to be eaten a few moments again.
As they get onto the ship, the ship doors close and the team
breathes a sigh of relief.
Kindron: Thank god... Not a moment too soon. He says as he walks
over to the screen which lights up with their mission briefing
officer.
Briefing Officer: Glad to see some of you made it. I'm just glad
we sent the rescue in time. We had it ready to go at a moment's
notice, and we actually sent it out the moment you engaged the
creatures the first time, thanks to Commander Darkfire's video
feed. He explains.
As the ship takes off, the group looks to the screen, while some
were still focused on using the ships more advanced medical
options to treat injuries. But it was over, and the team members
that had survived were now safe on the ship.
The ship starts flying toward the base.
- Epilogue Theme: Dark Discovery (

Briefing Officer: Your video feed gave us a lot of data on the
creatures.
Kindron: What's the plan for eliminating the creatures?
Briefing Officer: We've already called White Thunderbird Team.
They're en route and will meet you at the base.
Kindron sighs.
Kindron: Great. Maya will love to learn we got our a*ses
kicked... She'll definitely have something to say about that. He
says sarcastically, referring to the leader of the White
Thunderbird Team. Their teams had been friendly rivals for
years, and Kindron and Maya were friends, so they often competed
for the spot of the top team.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: I don't know boss. This is pretty
serious situation. We were lucky to get out with our lives.
Kindron: True. He says to the team member.
Briefing Officer: Thanks to you, we know more about these
creatures. We have a theory on how their camouflage works and
why it didn't come up on your infrared, sonar or x-rays.
Kindron: I assume it has to do with why their blood is clear and
their organs are translucent? He says.
Briefing Officer: Indeed. We believe the creatures have some
sort of biological process which lets them effectively allow
light, sound and radiation to pass through them. Because of
that, their bodies don't absorb anything in that state. Light is
a form of electromagnetic radiation, along with them not heating
up since the light passes through them, so infrared can't detect
them. And we suspect that sound also passes through them in that
state.
Kindron thinks for a moment.
Kindron: It's a perfect ambush tactic. They stay invisible right
before they attack. When they start eating people, they're going
to be visible by what's in their stomach, so they become visible
because there's no point in being invisible. They must have
evolved some kind of biological process which gives them perfect
camouflage.
Briefing Officer: That's right. We think they probably developed
it through evolution, and use it to ambush their prey.
Kindron: This is worse than I thought. These are highly evolved
creatures, and they're massively intelligent. He says. These
creatures are smart enough to communicate, and smart enough to
organize. If we don't stop these creatures, we're going to be in
big trouble.
Briefing Officer: We know. These creatures are in a new
environment, and they don't yet know their place in the food
chain. So they're testing the limits of what they can do, and
who can be a threat to them.
Kindron: And if they figure that out, they're going to get even
more dangerous. Right now, our only advantage is that they
probably see us as rival predators. And they're trying to adapt
to counter us.
Briefing Officer: That was our assumption as well. We are
organizing drones to enter the tunnels and keep the Xenoraptors
engaged until we can mount a counter attack. The drones can't
easily move through the tunnels, but we're planning to use a few
to lure the creatures out and record their sounds so that we can
try and trick them. Assuming that works. He explains.
Kindron: You watched our footage. Do you think there's adult
versions of these, or do you think these are the adult forms of
the creatures? He asks curiously.
Briefing Officer: So far, we cannot be sure. Our opinions on
that are divided. These things must mature quickly in order to
reproduce so quickly, so we think they could be adults, but it
is possible that these are all juveniles. We theorize that the
more experienced hunters may act as leaders of the younger
hunters so that the older ones can advise the younger ones how
best to hunt.
Kindron: I did see a few of the creatures communicating after
the Johnson blew up the entrance. But I couldn't tell what they
were saying to each other, or what it meant. He says.
Briefing Officer: Nor could we. All we can do right now is try
to keep them focused on fighting. Our theory is that we can
hopefully keep them from reproducing by keeping them engaged on
fighting our drones. If we go on the offensive, we hope that we
won't give them the time to further reproduce.
Kindron: Or, if they figure out that's what you're doing,
they'll hide and then start reproducing to regain their numbers.
We already saw just how many of them are present now.
Briefing Officer: That is also a possibility.
Kindron: As you know, I also grabbed some samples of the
creatures. He says, taking out the tubes of samples he had
gotten before they were ambushed.
Briefing Officer: Our science teams are standing by and ready to
analyze your samples. Thank you Commander Darkfire. This will
hopefully help us understand the Xenoraptors and find a way to
counter them.
Black Wolf Team Member 3: Just having a way to detect them will
be a huge help. With just motion detection and biological scans,
we can't ever be sure where they even are with that camouflage
of theirs.
Kindron: Indeed. We're going to need a bigger team next time.
And a way to detect these creatures even when they're hiding. He
says.
Briefing Officer: I know. And we're working on it. We're hoping
your samples will help us figure out a way.
Kindron: We're going to need more than White Thunderbird Team.
We're going to need a few robot soldier teams on our side as
well. He says to them.
Briefing Officer: We're already calling them in. But they were
hesitant to send people in on their own when they saw the
footage of the initial attack. I had to tell them we're sending
both Black Wolf Team and White Thunderbird Team in with their
teams next time.
Kindron: Are we all going to be re-equipped?
Briefing Officer: Yes. And we're going to make sure you are all
armed to teeth when you go back in there. We're going to press
our own numbers advantage this time. He says confidently,
adjusting his glasses.
Kindron: I hope that works. He says with a solemn look,
remembering his fallen team members who were killed by the
creatures.
Briefing Officer: It will. They're not the only ones who can
organize.
Kindron: But this isn't just a simple infestation, Officer. This
is an invasion. He says darkly.
End.
