"No, no. Now is not the time for fear. That comes later..."
"The human mind is full of darkness. I just know how to bring it
out."
"Don't call my creations monsters... They are as human as they
ever were."
"Welcome to the Scarecrows." - Dr. Richards to someone who
joined his group.
"It's hard being smarter than everyone else in the room. Don't
you agree, Black Wolf Rider?"
"The original Freakchips were clumsy. Nothing but rabid vampires
on an electronic leash."
"Normally I just crush anyone in my way. But you are different,
Black Wolf Rider. You cost me time, money, resources."
"Yes. I do have super soldier serums... But I find those to be
quite boring. I can make so much more advanced enhancements."
"You are strong. But if you want my dark spirit enhancement
Freakchip, you must learn strength of mind. Or you will be
nothing more than an advanced animal."
"I don't care if people know who I am. It's actually better they
don't, so that way they won't interfere with my plans. I will be
a ghost. Only known to those who give me what I need."
"You have no idea what it's like, do you? I get paid to modify
people with my technology. I learn how to perfect people, and
get paid to do it. It's how do they say... 'Do what you love'?"
"Shutting me down again? You know how this works. Shut me down
and I will find someone else who will pay me to modify people.
Unless you can kill me, my work will never stop." - Dr. Richards
when someone tried to shut down his work.
"Tell me, what... kind... of power would you like? Vampire?
Werewolf? Magic? Perhaps dragon? I'm even working on some
interesting hybrids if you want more than one power." - Dr.
Richards to someone who wanted one of his Freakchips implanted
into them.
"I am here to perfect the human condition. Monsters inspire
fear. But only animals fear humans. I aim to fix that. Animals
see humans as a rival predator, which is why most avoid humans.
So to make humanity feared, I must make humanity the ultimate
predator."
"You don't realize it, but you've seen my work already, Black
Wolf Rider. The Order of the Dragon, the League of Assassins.
I've created different variations of monsters for their groups
when they hired me to. You'd be surprised if I told you half of
what I've created."
"The Black Wolf Rider is a specimen I must have on my table. I
have learned so much just watching him. Imagine how much I could
learn if I cut him open and analyze him completely. He could
perfect my artificial vampire program and give me new ideas for
new programs."
"Humans are always insecure about their place in the world. They
want to be at the top of the food chain, but there are others
always willing to challenge them. They become afraid they will
fall before the competition. That's just one reason why they're
so easy to manipulate."
"The evolutionary path for humans is endless... So many things
they can become. But for monsters... What evolution is afforded
to them? They stay the same. They have long life spans, but that
is because they simply exist for as long as they can. They do
not change, and they do not evolve. That is why humans will
always be superior."
"You want to know what my Freakchips achieve? I do not create
monsters that eat humans. Instead, I create new human
evolutions. They keep their humanity, but my modifications
modify out the need to feed on people and the ferality of the
creatures powers they inhabit. They get to evolve, without the
failings of the monsters. We can kill the monsters of this world
without needing to become them. And then we will replace them in
the natural order so that those races will have no reason to
exist. Groups like the Brotherhood will become a thing of the
past. And with my dark spirit and death wraith Freakchips, we
will no longer need fear the Xeles realm. And with void creature
Freakchips, we can even walk right into Malice's realm and make
war if we wanted to... But don't worry. We're not that crazy."
"Did you know that there is a humanity at the base of almost
every monster? At their core, they work the same way. Many
supernaturals can be traced back to cursed humans in some way.
Vampires, werewolves... Even demons and angels seem to have
humanity in them, and not just the ones created from humans. And
then there's Death wraiths... They use human forms. Why humans?
If they want to blend in, why not animals, or spirit forms that
are invisible to humans. If they use darkness, why not distort
the light so they are never visible? Vampires and werewolves
were born of curses that were used on human. Even the Seiji are
just demonic humans. So that leaves the question: Are monsters
evil because of what they turn into? Or is it their humanity
that makes them monsters? That's why I do what I do... To learn
the answer to that one question. Even the ones that do not have
any connections to humans can still provide insight, like why
would a monster think this way while the human mind does not? By
understanding monsters, I can understand the human mind's
darkest secrets."
When an ally questioned the scarecrow theme for Dr. Richard's
group.
Ally: Why scarecrows? They're just used to scare birds and stuff
right?
Dr. Richards: The scarecrow is far more important than that.
There are plenty of mythological origins for scarecrows. Take
Japanese mythology for example... The Shinto mythology has the
deity, Kuebiko, standing as a stationary scarecrow in a field.
It cannot move, but knows everything that happens in the world.
And then there's the Bubak, a mythological scarecrow creature
that was an embodiment of fear that devoured souls and used
souls to make their very clothes.
When someone came in with news while Dr. Richards was doing a
surgery.
Ally: Sir! We have an emergency!
Dr. Richards: How many times have I asked you not to interrupt
me when I'm in surgery. He says calmly.
Ally: But sir! It's important!
Dr. Richards: Yes... I got that from the "It's an emergency."
Now get on with it. He says sarcastically.
When Dr. Richards lured Black Wolf Rider Kindron to one of his
labs.
The screen comes on in the lab as BWR Kindron walks in. The
screen shows Dr. Richards, who was no longer in the lab, but at
another base.
BWR Kindron: You lured me here. Why?
Dr. Richards gives a confident smirk.
Dr. Richards: Because you are one of the few people who are able
to appreciate what I've created. You are not as stupid as
everyone else. You almost as smart as I am... And I believe you
will appreciate what I've created.
When an ally interrupted Dr. Richards during another surgery.
Ally: Sir! We have an emergency!
Dr. Richards: Again with this? He says with a sigh. If this ends
up not being important, you'll be the next one on my table and
it will not be pleasant.
The ally hesitates.
Ally: Sir, the Black Wolf Rider is on his way here! He says.
Dr. Richards looks over and sighs.
Dr. Richards: Okay... That is a good one. You live another day.
He says sarcastically.
"All you've done is take human nature and pervert it. Any
two-bit whack job can do that." - Black Wolf Rider about Dr.
Richards work.
"I've taken down a lot of monsters in my time. But I never
thought a human would be one of the worst monsters I ever
met..." - Black Wolf Rider when he met Dr. Richards.
"That guy makes monsters. I wish I could say they were just like
supernaturals, but there's an eery calm to them. It's like they
are monsters, but not monsters at the same time."
"I'm going to have nightmares about that Bubak form of his for a
long time. It was like his aura was full of screaming voices. I
could feel it... The energy he'd taken from others. Their very
essence screams out like they're trapped inside him. It was
horrifying." - Someone who saw Dr. Richard's Bubak form.
