Vengeance is Mine, Sayith the Lord
By: Caterina Sforza Date: June 20, 2019, 7:58 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
A couple days had passed at Castle Darkfire since Hei had
gained the Hybrid to his growing army. It had been the same
amount of days since Muriel had been sitting with her feet
kicked back in Heaven watching Hei work his curse over on her
elder daughter. She wanted to crush his windpipe then and there,
but instead she bided her time. Allowed herself to twiddled her
thumbs a bit and let the world continue on its natural course.
Well mostly natural.
The moment night had fallen, the same day that Cress changed, a
torrential downpour began. It seemed no more than the ordinary
weather cycle at first. The water kept coming though faster than
it could be drained away. Parts of the city began to flood. It
slowly became clear that this storm wasn’t natural. It was
magical. Divine. An act of divine wrath poured out onto innocent
beings in the fury of a higher power.
The beings of the afterlife weren’t overly pleased and after
four days attempted to plead with the white haired woman to stop
the rain. The storm only increased with its peak around Castle
Darkfire. If Hei remembered anything from his days in London, he
would know divine fury was about to come his way.

Hei was at the peak of the castle, watching the area as the rain
came down. He goes to the peak of the castle, above the highest
tower where he stands in an open area, looking up, and almost
seems look right into Muriel's vision with his glowing red eyes
as though he knew she was watching him, and while she wouldn't
be able to see his eye covered by the mask, the broken off part
of the right side of the mask would be clearly visible, with
Hei's glowing red eye'd gaze being clear. It wasn't a look of
anger or hatred, but a look of coldness, void of emotion
completely, something Muriel would know all about due to Hei not
having a soul. Hei: So... Are you planning to watch me all
night? If Father Hei and Kindron combined cannot bring divine
justice on me with their new super-charged angel power, then
what hope do you have? My spirit was strong enough in Heaven
that Sariel had to stop my power herself, but this body is even
stronger than my demon power. Of course... Rain is a good idea.
It means I can't use use flames... And my lightning will have a
hard time generating power with my body in a constant state of
short out if this rain keeps up... So now is your best chance of
stopping me. Maybe you'll be the first one to push me to my
maximum power. He says, sounding like he was challenging
Muriel's wrath, as his presence seems to freeze the area around
him, turning the rain into ice as it hits the ground around him,
and the ground freezing due to his presence was much like a
vengeful spirit.

Muriel heard every word he said, her eyebrows raising a bit in
surprising at his boldness and a bit in amusement at his
bluntness to challenge the being. She slammed her feet down from
where she had them propped up during her observations, at the
same time a deep rumble of thunder rolled through over the
castle. The storm was beginning to feed off her anger now more
than she had originally let it. The same thing that had occurred
before the eruption in Pompeii
Muriel: Hei still has guts I see. I have to give him credit for
his bravery, or maybe stupidity, in challenging me.
A crackle of lightning arched across the sky just before Muriel
appeared above Castle Darkfire. The rain seemed to bend out of
her way leaving her dry. The wind pushed her hair back around
her only adding to the image of her fury. Her eyes burned
brighter and hotter than any bolt of lightning ever could.
Muriel: Sariel is weak and pathetic. I put her down just like
all the other ones that got in my way in some way or another
when I returned.
Okay so maybe Muriel hadn’t killed Sariel, but she definitely
put her in her place at Muriel’s own feet at least for a little
while. It’s why the storm had been allowed to rage on for so
long. She’d let Sariel have her prideful control back at some
point, but not now.

Hei just casually looks over at Muriel. Hei: Sariel has gotten
pathetically weak-willed over time... She was afraid of what my
soul could do if it managed to grow it's demonic power. She once
called me the next Lucifer... Even told my brother that he and I
were like Michael and Lucifer. Of course... Not that I care or
expect you to. Of course... With fighters like us... It's
actions that speak louder than words, isn't it? He says to
Muriel as he radiates his dark lord aura, with extremely
powerful darkness that was different from normal darkness, but
more like an empty abyss of darkness, one that even seemed to
bend what little light there was around Hei, with the light
being drawn into the darkness like a black hole. It seems we are
two natural disasters ready to collide...

A smile graced Muriel’s face not kind or cold, maybe an almost
Cheshire Cat grin as she touched down on top of the building.
Her aura radiated light that seemed to both consume Hei’s
darkness and be consumed by it. A power struggle in just the
energy the two gave off. She looked dangerous but not the cold
dangerous that Hei radiated. No, Muriel’s was heated and fueled
by passion.
Muriel: I could see it. You could have been an excellent
replacement for my vein and disgraceful brother. She hums
briefly in thought Maybe if you live tonight, it won’t be too
late for that to come around. As for us it is actions that speak
louder than words. I think it’s about time this storm hits a
peak, what says you dear old friend?

Hei: It seems the time has come. But know this... Even if you
kill me... Someone far worse is already lined up to take my
place. You won't win even if I die. I'm the only thing keeping
that worse thing from coming to pass. He says as he seems to
float off the ground, to the point that his feet seemed to float
about a foot off the ground, with his body coated in red energy,
generated by his power as a dark lord, and seemed to even feed
his darkness in addition to the light. Instead of calling his
demon swords, he decides to summon a few knives that he holds
ready. It wasn't often anymore that Hei wasn't playing dirty,
but Hei was ready to fight this battle one on one.

Muriel: Playing nice are we Hei? Didn’t expect that one from
you. She summons her usual sword in one hand. Nothing special
about it except for the divine powers that flowed through it.
She also yanks the archangel blade out of its place on her hip
to keep in her off hand. She shoved herself off into flight
again meeting Hei above the ground. She decides to go in for the
first slash of her sword while using the angel blade to hold off
any attacks on her person.

Hei: Elsa and Evadne hinder my enjoyment of a good fight with
their screaming at times... They can't handle the pain my power
brings them. So I want to have fun against someone who can
handle my power. He says as he goes in to attack her, his
vampire aura able to propel him toward her as she fly toward
him. He uses his knives to counter her sword, attacking with the
knife in his other hand.

His knife stops her sword just as her angel blade stops his
knife from reaching her. She follows up the sword blow with a
solid kick to his ribs not holding back any of the angelic
strength her strikes carry. The kid would most likely cause the
sickening crunch of at least one rib bone maybe two if she was
lucky.

Because of Hei's bone dragon enhancement, his bones aren't able
to break, so the kick mostly just causes some impact damage,
which regenerates quickly in bursts of dark flames, but he
manages to hold his own well as he kicks her back with just as
much strength as she put into her attack.
