RP: Run Until the Wires Burn

Vendetta woke before the world did. Again. Not because she
wanted to. Because her mind refused to let her rest. The
nightmare had come back, same as every night since they fled
Olympus: The experiments she was put under by either her own
mother or that sociopathic freak, Dr. Ostell, the brutal
training, the missions, the lives she is forced to take under
her mother's orders. She sat up slowly, rubbing the heel of her
palm against her eyes. The room around her was dim, lit only by
the faint white glow of her ki before calming herself down.
That's the only thing that makes her feel human along with
something that she can actually control. V exhaled, slow and
shaky. They had been on the run for days. No real sleep. No real
safety. Just the constant knowledge that Olympus already sent
hunters after them. Especially those like Anton Daraes, the one
with the Kronos cybernetics. That's gonna suck balls for them.
Especially if they also sent the Ilaena twins after them, the
ones who have the Apollo and Artemis System cybernetics. The
brother is one thing, but his crazy ass twin sister? That's an
immediate hell no on wheels. Yeah, things are not looking good
for the girls. If any of them caught up, it wouldn't be a fight.
It would be a slaughter. So, why the hell did they even run away
if their options are low? Because staying meant becoming
weapons. Or worse: becoming obedient. Becoming slaves with no
free will. Because Natalya Zolnerowich's "love" was just another
experiment waiting to happen. Because Vin deserved a life where
she wasn't a remote‑controlled puppet. And V would rather
die free than live as Olympus property.
V slowly stood up and stretch the stiffness from her limbs. Her
cybernetics whirred in quiet protest. She pushed them too hard
yesterday. She will push them harder today. That was the job.
They were close now. The old man from the Democratic Republic
resistance had told them about an entrance to an underground
city which is hidden, protected, and full of people who are
fighting back against Dr. Black forces. He’ gave the girls
directions after they pulled him out of a collapsed alleyway,
coughing dust and gratitude. V checked her gear and the shadows
outside the broken window of their temporary hideout as she
waits for Vin to get ready. The horizon was just beginning to
lighten as V take a few caffeine pills that will help her get
through the day and so her body won't collapse on her, as long
as she doesn't push herself like last time. V was also told that
there are a few resistance groups patrolling around areas like
these. All V has to do is show proof that she's not a threat by
showing the papers that the old man gave her and V.
V: Almost there. Just hold it together a little longer.

As Vin was changing, she keeps an eye out, as well as using her
cybernetics to try and scan for anything out of the ordinary.
Ever since leaving the Olympus Organization, this had been their
life. Always looking over their shoulder, wondering when someone
was going to show up for them. Some people were at least fair
when they came after V and Vin. Others... Not so much.
But this vigilance was the price they had to pay for freedom
from the Olympus Organization.
Who knows how long they could keep Olympus from tracking them.
Vin was doing her best to not use her cybernetics as much as she
could so that it would be harder to track, since she could avoid
being hacked or targeted as long as she wasn't connected to any
of the many system networks that ran through the 30XX world.
Once Vin got her jacket on, she comes out of the room. She was
worn out, but ever since V had risked it all to save Vin, Vin
had been happy to trust V, and would fight to protect V despite
what might come.
Once she came out of the room, she looks over to V. Vin: How are
you holding up? Any problems? She says to V.

V just finished scanning the area using her ki when Vin came up.
V glance over to see Vin walk up to her before turning her
vision back toward the horizon. V created two ki clones of
herself and Vin and had them scout ahead of the location. Due to
the constant dangers the two girls had to face, V decided to be
cautious and create some scouts which worst case will be
diversions if God forbid any hunter or something similar tries
to come after them.
V: Nothing yet. Just used my ki to scan the area. I even found
one of the shortcuts that old man told us about earlier that can
lead us to our destination. We're almost there. We just gotta
stay out of sight until we're there. C'mon, let's head there
before the sun really comes up.
V feels guilty dragging Vin through the wasteland and pushing
the both of them to move forward. But if it means that the fail
safe will be removed from Vin so she can experience true
freedom, then V will be more than eager to die for that hope.
Even if it's slim. V then begins to leave the abandoned building
she and Vin were camping in last night and begin to head
forward, using the map the old man gave her to find the place. V
remembered the old man telling them that the resistance groups
are more than eager to help those in need, especially the
Democratic Republic, even going as far as to trying to give them
a heads up of the two showing up, that way they'll know ahead of
time. If that's the case, then hopefully someone strong will be
around. Because fair or not, the people from Olympus
Organization will drag their them back to that God awful place
and will slaughter anyone who gets in their way.

going than I do. She says to V with a nod. She gets ready to
follow V

V nod softly to Vin. She then begin walking to their
destination. She takes out the map the old man gave her from her
back pocket and unfolds it as she begins walking. She then uses
the map to lead herself and Vin toward their destination.
V: I created some clones earlier to scout ahead. If they run up
to any dangers, I'll know. Best case, we'll be far away enough
to evade them and take another route to cover our tracks. I
don't want us to encounter some of Ostell's monsters or freaks
worst case scenario... especially when we're so close.

Vin: I'm more worried about someone like Anton coming after us.
You know he won't be happy when he finds out we're gone. She
says softly to V as she walks with V.

V: I know. Knowing him though, he's taking his sweet time
hunting us. Ugh... that was not intended. She says with a groan,
making a face that she made a pun before going back to reading
the map We just gotta hope that we can use that to our
advantage. Besides, I would rather deal with him... She says
more to herself softly, remembering there are worse people than
Anton such as half of the monsters Dr. Ostell created or
monsters like Dr. Ostell himself. Worse things that she will not
let Vin encounter. Anyway, I'll let you know if my clones
encounter any of them.

Vin: Yeah, I'd rather not run into any of the hunters they might
send after us. I just hope we can stay under the radar for as
long as possible. She says.

V just nod silently in agreement as she keeps going. As she does
this, she use her ki to connect to her ki clones who are
scouting ahead, trying to see if they ran into any hunters so
far. That way, they can take another route worst case scenario.

Vin follows behind V, keeping her senses sharp and trying to
keep her cybernetics from linking to any other tech so that it
would be harder to trace them.
