       REDWOOD VILEBLOOD COVENANT
“Treacherous fiends, these Redwoods. Their founder betrayed his
fellow scholars of the Church long ago, returning with vile,
forbidden blood to further their Arcane research. Only, it
tainted them forever. These monsters, using their own blood,
created an unholy and disgusting form of Arcane. We call it
       Bloodtinge.”
       ---
       I. Identity & Origin
The Redwood Covenant descends from early Anglo‑Saxon
nobility, once celebrated as scholars, linguists, and
Church‑aligned researchers of the Arcane Arts. Their
legacy changed irrevocably with Godwin Redwood, a brilliant but
       ultimately heretical scholar.
While working with the Vatican on codices of monsters,
containment of tainted relics, and theological Arcana, Godwin
uncovered a source of forbidden blood—believed to originate from
an ancient, angelic being whose healing properties had been
corrupted into something monstrous. Bringing this blood home
       damned his lineage.
The Church branded them Vilebloods, and the family embraced
their curse, developing a unique and blasphemous
blood‑based Arcane discipline known as Bloodtinge.
A later schism produced the Blackwulf Family, who rejected
blood‑use in favor of pure Arcane study.

       IV. Rank Structure
Redwood hierarchy is determined by proximity of bloodline to
       Godwin, the First Vileblood.
       - Progenitors — Direct descendants with the purest concentration
       of Godwin’s tainted blood.
       - Highborn — Close lineage, strong Bloodtinge affinity.
       - Lowborn / Branch Kin — More distant relatives, weaker
attunement but still formidable. Lowborn is the title all
vampires derived from humans are given.
       - Thralls — Humans under the influence of a Redwood. Used as
       spies, servants and informants.
       ---
       V. Culture & Philosophy
Despite their monstrous reputation, the Redwoods cultivated a
       refined culture:
       - Music, poetry, and theater became their chosen arts, both as
entertainment and as a way to endure immortality.
       - They maintain a neutral fascination with humans—seeing them as
both prey and as enviable beings capable of dying.
       - Their scholarship persists, though twisted by centuries of
       blood‑driven experimentation.
       ---
       VI. The Crimson Grimoire
The Crimson Grimoire is a blood‑written tome crafted by
       Godwin himself.
Its pages contain alchemical glyphs, Arcane formulae, and the
       foundational rites of Bloodtinge.
The Church once attempted to seize and destroy it. They failed.
       ---
       VII. Physiology & Core Traits
Redwoods are vampires—Vilebloods—with all standard vampiric
traits enhanced by their cursed lineage.
       Vileblood Physiology
       - Immortality: Near‑limitless vitality, regeneration, and
       immunity to natural death.
       - Queen Elizabeth is Effectively Immortal, capable of
       reconstituting even from annihilation.
       - Enhanced Strength: Capable of overpowering trained
       executioners and tearing humans apart.
       - Acute Senses: Exceptional smell, hearing, and environmental
       awareness.
       - Art of Quickening: A unique Arcane technique allowing movement
faster than sight, shrouded in fog.
       ---
       VIII. Bloodtinge Attunement
The Redwoods’ signature discipline: blood‑forged Arcane
       weaponry and techniques.
       Bloodtinge Abilities
       - Coldblood Weapons: Personalized weapons formed from
crystallized blood; inflict bleed and curse damage.
       - Blood Siphon: Drains life force to accelerate regeneration and
       replenish blood reserves.
       - Lance Thrust: A concentrated blood lance delivering
       devastating piercing damage.
       - Blood Spike Barrage: Repeated impalement by blood spikes; can
be expanded into an AOE attack.
       - Vampire Claw: Ethereal blood claws used for grappling,
       pulling, or mobility.
       - Blood Wings: Manifested wings of blood enabling flight.
       - Vileblood Form: A monstrous transformation triggered by
emotion or ritual self‑impalement, amplifying power but
       increasing fire vulnerability.
       ---
       IX. Weaknesses
Despite their power, Redwoods suffer classic and unique
       vulnerabilities:
       - Silver / Blessed Silver: Slows regeneration, scars
       permanently, fatal to vital areas.
       - Beheading: A traditional Church execution method; severs
       immortality.
       - Holy Arts: Devastating to cursed blood; negates regeneration.
       - Fire: Reduces them to ash at the cellular level.
       - Blood Dependency: Without blood, they weaken, lose
immortality, and eventually mutate into feral horrors.
