versions of the other in other universes and we didn't know that
when we got here. I just saw a guy who killed my best friend,
and Kierran saw a revived rival who tried to kill his wife.

Raven: Your P.I. rival has something to hide. Everyone does.
Kitsune: It won't matter... We P.I.s don't leave evidence behind
that can get us into trouble... At least, not the good ones.
Raven: So what... We give up?
Kitsune: *Stops and looks sarcastically at Raven.* You don't
know me at all do you? *He pulls out a file out of the drawer.*
We don't go after him... We go after people close to him. He
can't cover up all his friends dirty secrets.
Raven: Okay... That makes more sense. But isn't that a bit
dirty?
Kitsune: Trust me... His friends have some really dirty secrets.
You won't feel so bad once you learn them and find out how bad
his friends are.
*During an investigation where he and Raven were looking to get
into a building.*
Raven: It's locked... We're gonna have to come back lat- *He
stops as Kitsune pulls the door open, breaking the lock in the
process with his enhanced strength.*
Kitsune: There's no lock anymore. *He says jokingly.*
Raven: Wait... You're breaking and entering? Isn't that against
the rules as a P.I.?
Kitsune: There's nowhere I can't go. *He says jokingly with a
smile as he goes into the building.*
*During a conversation between Kierran and Kitsune in the Exiles
Universe.*
Kierran: The cop I sent him to killed him immediately then tried
to kill me... I want to hire you to find out where he went so I
can find out why.
Kitsune: *Kitsune adjusts his glasses.* Kierran... You think it
will stop there?
Kierran: *Stops and thinks for a moment.* Uh... Would you be
surprised if I said yes?
Kitsune: *Sighs.* It doesn't take a P.I. to realize there's more
corrupt cops than there should be in this town. Take him down,
another will come after you. You need to figure out who's at the
top of these dirty cops and who wanted your guy dead.
Kierran: Okay Sherlock... Do that then.
Kitsune: It won't be easy. But I think the two of us should be
able to do it... *He smiles.* Junior associate.
Kierran: Oh... I'm an associate now that you need me, is that
it?
Kitsune: Your case, you gotta help me out. *He says jokingly.*
Kierran: Asshole... *He says with a sigh.*
Kitsune: *Gets serious as he gets up.* Oh... And don't expect to
find the cop. I suspect he's dead in an ally somewhere in order
to cover up the incident.
Kierran: Just find someone to let me use my sword on, please,
before I use it on you. *He says sarcastically.*

Weapons:
- Soul Sword: Kami-kira (The God Killer): This rapier-style
sword is Kitsune's death wraith weapon, which is somewhat unique
among death wraith. Kitsune is able to use both light and
shadows, which is reflected in his soul sword. He is able to use
this sword in order to control both light and shadow, often
using a combination of the two. Almost all of his attacks with
this sword are two-fold, one light and one dark. When he fires
energy waves, or slashes, there are always two he fires with one
attack. This sword is also sometimes referred to by other death
wraiths as "Double Slash" due to it's dual attack power. This
weapon has the ability to draw in shadows and use shadows around
the area, and can harness light reflected off the blade as well
as drawing in light from the area around Kitsune. Kitsune's soul
sword also has another unique power, in which he is able to use
it and it's light and darkness to slay any kind of creature.
This ability works similarly to a death scythe, where it is able
to kill any creature with it's blade or with it's dark and light
manipulation, which also work like a death scythe. Those struck
by the blade will have trouble regenerating for up to 3 turns
when hit by the blade or it's light and dark powers, and if
Kitsune hits the heart or brain of a user, he can kill them like
a death scythe would. This blade can also be empowered by
Kitsune's spirit energy which shines blue unlike most death
wraiths.
- Hanzamune (Gun): This gun is a special gun made from a melted
down legendary sword. This gun has a special effect on the
bullets fired from it, where the barrel burns runes into the
bullets as they are fired. This gun can fire shots that are able
to pierce dimensions, allowing Kitsune to use this gun to fire
bullets that can act as dimension cutter attacks. When the
bullets are fired, the runes are burned into the bullets and
split through objects by separating them through space and time.
This is useful for dangerous opponents who can't be hurt
normally, and for fighting opponents with tougher skin than
most, since this can cut through time and space rather than
through the body. As a result, these bullets don't slow down
when they hit an object, continuing as long as no other
dimension cutter attack stops them. This is useful against those
with strong armors, or against those that cannot be heart
easily, since these bullets can pierce almost any kind of armor
or weapon, unless it is a dimension cutter weapon, or a
being/item that exists on multiple dimensional planes. This gun
was melted down from the legendary sword Kitsune used to wield
in his world.
Death Wraith Abilities:
- Unique Death Wraith Physiology: Being of Light and Shadows: It
is very rare, but every now and then a unique death wraith is
born that gains the power of both light and shadow, being one of
the rare mutations of the death wraiths that randomly appears
similar to rare mutations like the primordial powers of Anna
Shadow. Kitsune is a very rare mutation among death wraiths that
only comes up once every 4-7 generations. It isn't known what
causes this mutation, and why it isn't passed on through
families (This mutation is one of the few not passed on through
genetics), as children of these rare mutations seem to have kids
that are normal death wraiths and don't inherit this mutation.
However, this rare breed is different in that they are not only
a powerful mix of darkness and death like normal death wraiths,
but are also a mix of light and dark power as well. As such,
their souls and powers tend to be unique, and sometimes even
frightening to other death wraiths who fear these unique
mutations will turn on the other death wraiths. Due to this,
most of the time these mutations appear, they are often either
watched, or exiled if the person proves to be too different or
disobedient. Kitsune is one of these rare mutations, and has the
unique physiology of these rare mutations. This unique mutation
makes him much tougher than typical death wraiths.
- Unique Death Wraith Spirit User: In his universe, Kitsune was
one of the strongest spirit energy users in his world, in which
he gained this ability after finding out about his unique
physiology. In skill, his only spirit energy user equivalent was
his rival Kierran Black, who Kitsune often had to fight against.
In order to take advantage of his skills, he learned to use his
spirit energy, which is unique to him since his spirit possesses
both light and dark power. Kitsune is able to shift his spirit
to light or dark at will, or a mix of the two depending on what
he wants to do. For the most part, his spirit energy tends to be
neutral unless he uses this, since normally the light and dark
cancel each other out in his soul and just allow him typical
pure spirit power similar to what humans possess. This is a
pretty good power for Kitsune, since he has a bit more options
than many other spirit users do and can use other powers in his
spirit energy that people don't always have access to. Kitsune
also has fairly strong spirit aura, which is much stronger than
some other spirit powers, probably due to his rare mutation and
his slight spiritual mutation he gained during his world's fight
against his version of Kierran and Anna who almost killed him.
- Shadow Manipulation/Primordial Shadows Manipulation: Thanks to
the death wraiths being created from shadows of the shadow
realm, they are able to manipulate/control shadows and even
manipulate primordial shadows from the shadow realm. They are
able to use shadows much like other shadow users, being able to
use shadows to attack opponents. Being masters of shadows, death
wraiths are masters of not only attacking with shadows, but
using different forms of shadows. They are able to do things
like creating special unique shadow techniques based in their
skillset,
change the physical form of shadows into liquid or solid, or
even change the acidity of shadows. Certain people have even
developed unusual darkness abilities, sometimes even being
variations of typical shadows, such as Kierran Black's abnormal
darkness. Their base darkness powers are normal shadows and
primordial shadows, despite how their manipulations are used.
Normal shadows don't cost as much power to use but are less
powerful, while primordial shadows are more powerful than normal
shadows but cost more power to use as a result. Of course, as
one might guess, most types of shadows are counterable by light,
or in some cases, life energy in the cases that certain shadows
can't be dispelled by light alone.
- Light Manipulation/Primordial Light Manipulation: Thanks to
his rare mutation, Kitsune has the ability to manipulate light
just as he does shadows. And just as death wraiths can
manipulation primordial shadows, Kitsune can also manipulate
primordial light. Using light, Kitsune is able to manipulate
light to do many different things like being able to create
spears of light, reflect light off surfaces, fire beams of light
or even manipulate light to create illusions/mirages. Unlike
shadows which are more liquid-like in form when not hardened,
light manipulation is more like beams of energy or sometimes
more like glass depending on how it's focused. And just as
Kitsune can create unique darkness attacks, Kitsune is also able
to unique light attacks, such as a flashbang attack that can
fire beams of light at opponents to damage them, or an attack
where he uses reflected light to attack people. For the most
part, he is able to use both primordial light and normal light,
with him being able to use it opposite of his darkness.
Primordial light is much more powerful than normal light, but
costs more energy to use as a result, making it better for
stronger enemies that aren't hurt by normal light attacks. Of
course, as one might expect, light's main counter is darkness,
or using something like ice or water to absorb or reflect light
as well.
- Twilight/Twilight Realm Manipulation: By mixing Kitsune's
light and dark power, he is able to create a mix of light and
dark energy in the form of twilight manipulation. His twilight
is a balance of mixed essence of light and dark, making it a
neutral power. And instead of using primordial light and shadow,
Kitsune is able to draw on the Twilight realm's mixed light and
dark, with the Twilight realm being a realm between the Shadow
realm and the living world which is often referred to as the
"light world" where some dangerous souls are cast if they are a
threat to both the light and shadow realms. By drawing from this
realm, Kitsune is able to use a powerful twilight manipulation
that is on par with primordial light and shadows, which costs
more energy, but does more damage. Twilight energy is powerful,
being able to damage creatures of both light and shadow as a
result of being a mix of the two. Using this, Kitsune is able to
attack with this energy, using it to do things like create
spears of twilight, create twilight in an area to weaken certain
types of opponents, and even using this to corrupt light and
dark energies. This energy is the about the same level as normal
dark and light, and just mostly acts as a way to damage both
light and dark creatures. This can be countered with either
light or dark, or other energies as well that can counter this
power.
- Shadow Meld/Planeswalking: This lets a death wraith travel
around using shadows, as they are able to fuse into shadows and
go anywhere in the world as long as there is access to a shadow,
granted there is no supernatural warding for teleportation. By
using shadows, they are able to travel through the shadow realm,
which connects every realm. In addition to being able to go
anywhere in the world, they are also able to go between
afterlife realms as well, in which they are able to also go
between the Veil where human souls remain after they die, since
their job requires taking souls to the afterlife. They also have
connection to go to the Hall of Souls, in which they usually
bring lost souls or souls that aren't recorded to go anywhere
else. Thsi technique requires only a death wraith to know where
they want to go, though since they are born and raised in the
shadow realm, most death wraith know their way around
instinctively. This can also be used in battle to a degree, if
the death wraith can meld into a shadow if they want to teleport
around the battlefield. Some death wraiths call this "shadow
walking". Death wraiths can stay in shadows for an extended
amount of time, but if the shadow they are in is destroyed, they
risk taking damaged when forced out of the shadow if the shadow
is destroyed by something like a flashbang.
- Light Walking/Planeswalking Variation: While Kitsune can still
travel the shadow realm and shadow walk like other death wraiths
by using sources shadows, Kitsune also has a somewhat unique
ability in that he can also meld into sources of light and
travel through sources of light similarly to how he would
shadows. This lets him travel between the light and dark realms,
as well as traveling through the Twilight realm, which normally
wouldn't allow light or dark users to travel there without
getting stuck in that world due to not having a separation of
light and dark. Thanks to this ability, Kitsune is able to
travel through light in order to not only travel the real world,
but travel to other planes of light, such as traveling to a
realm of beings of light that is somewhere not even light users
tend to be able to access. For the most part, Kitsune still
travels to the realms of life and death like everyone else, but
his light melding/light walking lets him travel as an alternate
method if he doesn't want to use his shadow walking. This is
usually good for avoiding death wraiths, since death wraiths
cannot follow him when he is in the "light realm" (when he is in
a source of light). Just as death wraiths can be damaged by
forceful exit of shadows, destroying a light source can also
damage Kitsune if he has to be forced out of a light source.
- Dark to Light Plane Transition/Twilight Realmwalking: Because
Kitsune is able to travel both light and shadow, Kitsune is able
to also shift from plane to plane, not just using the living
world, but using the boundary of mixed light and dark to shift
from light to dark planes and vice versa. This lets him use
light and dark to transition, such as going from a source of
light straight into a shadow. This grants Kitsune the ability to
easily shift planes, and makes him very difficult to track if
someone is trying to chase him down. This ability to shift
planes works great for helping Kitsune hide from people, but
also grants him the ability to easily be able to shift into the
realm of twilight, the realm that has no true light or darkness,
but simply a mix of light and dark. Most death wraiths and light
or dark walkers avoid the Twilight Realm, mostly because it
houses dangerous souls that are cast out if they are a threat to
both light and dark, but also because those that end up there
end up trapped there if they cannot do what Kitsune does and
shift from light to dark. Though Kitsune doesn't have a need to
go to the Twilight realm, he could go there if he wanted to, and
he has been useful for certain situations where people have
needed to send someone to that realm, since he's one of the few
people that can go to and from that realm.
- Shadow Stealth/Shadow Presence Suppression: Another technique
using shadows, where death wraiths are able to hide in shadows.
Death wraiths are able to blend shadows around them, in which
they are able to not only become invisible in the shadows, but
they are also able to hide their presence from other
supernaturals, not even being able to be sensed by anyone other
than another death wraith or certain shadow users. Death
wraiths' natural ability for stealth and shadow melding make
this a fairly simple technique to them, where they are able to
do it fairly easily if they have enough shadows to work with. To
most people, they will just see a typical shadow, which would
normally not draw any suspicion. Though if the death wraith
doesn't have enough shadows to work with, the shadow they blend
with might appear unnatural. This is a technique that death
wraiths are able to use once mastering shadow melding, making
stealth even easier.
- Light Stealth/Light Presence Suppression: Just as normal death
wraiths can hide in the shadows, Kitsune's rare mutation of also
being a light user also allows him to hide in the light the same
way. When Kitsune fuses into the light using his light walking
skill, he is able to become invisible in the light, as well as
hiding his presence from others. Thanks to light walking not
being a very common skill (since only unique death wraiths that
gain light really know how to do this), most cannot find Kitsune
in the light. As such, this lets him hide from people that
normal death wraiths cannot hide from, since most death wraiths
cannot detech Kitsune when he's fused in light. Using the death
wraith's natural ability for stealth and melding, this makes
Kitsune almost undetectable except by powerful enough light
users that can sense his physical presence in the light. Kitsune
is a rare case of being able to be stealthy in both light and
darkness, with him also being able to use this in the Twilight
realm if needed in order to hide from people.
- Shadow/Light/Twilight Regeneration: Depending on where Kitsune
is, he is able to use both light and dark to regenerate his
body. Because of his unique abilities, Kitsune can draw in
either light or darkness, or a mix of the two in order to
regenerate from injuries. This power has two stages, in which
death wraiths are able to use the power of shadows to heal. The
first part of this is that they have a normal regeneration which
they are able to heal from injuries passively, having
regeneration similar to other supernaturals. This regeneration
is able to regenerate damage by using darkness as it's power
source, whether it is from the area around the death wraith or
if it comes from the death wraith. This lets them regenerate
most wounds, though it doesn't let them regenerate organs, their
brain or help them against iron or blessed sea salt (their
biggest weaknesses). For Kitsune, he can use this by absorbing
light or darkness to regenerate. The second stage of this
involves Kitsune either melding into the light or shadows, where
he is able to heal much more quickly, and even be able to heal
his organs or heal from things like iron and blessed sea salt.
While this doesn't work with things like spiritual infections or
spiritual poisons, this does help heal from most injuries if
Kitsune can use the light or dark realms to heal him. However,
Kitsune's regeneration in these realms is diminished due to him
being a creature of light and shadow, and the only time he gets
normal regeneration is in the twilight realm where he can
regenerate much more easily like normal death wraiths, since his
power to regenerate using both light and dark is stronger than
using one on it's own. Being able to use light and shadow makes
him harder to kill in the normal world, but makes him harder to
kill if he is in a place like the twilight realm.
- Death Wraith Elementals: Contrary to popular belief, death
wraiths don't use shadow elementals, but they use basic
elementals based on what they have affinities for. However, they
don't use elementals the same way mortals do, in which they have
a different understanding of elements than mortals and use them
a different way. For the death wraiths, elementals exist in one
of four classes: solid matter manipulation, liquid matter
manipulation, gas matter manipulation, and plasma matter
manipulation. Depending on the power gained, most are able to
gain multiple "elements" used, in which they are able to
generate these based more on matter manipulation than true
elementals. Each has it's own benefits, with each having
strengths and weaknesses. Solid matter manipulation mostly
involve earth manipulation, where death wraiths are able to
control anything with solid structure, like glass, sand, dirt,
rock, and even metal or concrete. Liquid matter manipulation
lets a death wraith control liquid, in which they are able to
control anything from acid, to water if it's in liquid form,
even being able to control the temperature of liquids like
creating ice and boiling liquid. Gas matter manipulation is
similar to wind manipulation, where the user is able to control
anything in gas form. This includes being able to control wind,
but can be used to do things like manipulate explosive gases,
create poisonous gases, or even create wind attacks. Plasma
manipulation involves controlling energy, which usually consists
mostly of controlling powers like fire, lightning and even
radiation energy. These powers, however, also come with
corresponding weaknesses, like solid matter manipulation being
counterable like any other earth manipulation. Kitsune's
manipulation is gas manipulation, letting him control the air
around him and control things like vapor and smoke as well as
explosive and conductive gases he can convert using this.
- Expert Gas Matter User: While Kitsune isn't a master level
user of gas matter, Kitsune can use gases and air for his
attacks, and can use higher level air manipulation. Kitsune is
able to manipulate the air around him, usually manipulating
certain gases. He can do things like create and control water
vapor, control and use smoke, and use the air to generate
specific attacks. One skill he has is drawing in explosive gases
to create an explosive attack that he can ignite with a spark,
similar to techniques like dragon snap or flame alchemy. This
technique is designed to create explosive attacks using certain
gases. Another technique is that Kitsune can create conductive
attacks using gases to create an electrical charge and create
lightning attacks using this ability. Kitsune can control gas in
many forms, and is an expert in chemistry and physics to
understand how elements interact with each other and how to
convert these gases and what each gas can do. For example, not
many know that hydrogen is an explosive gas that can be used to
ignite a flame attack. For the most part, it's Kitsune's
knowledge and high intelligence that makes this power dangerous
to his opponents, since Kitsune knows a lot about the physical
world and how to use it to his advantage much more than most
death wraiths do.
- Adabtability/Power Users: Like most mortals, death wraiths are
adaptable and able to learn the same abilities as humans can.
This includes things like magic, mana, psychic, or even
holy/unholy abilities. A death wraith is able to learn these in
the same way as humans, such as learning certain arts like mana
user abilities or spirit energy user abilities. Usually, they
can learn these from other death wraiths or from the mortals who
use these techniques. Usually, death wraiths can learn special
skills depending on their affinities, where they are able to
learn usually up to two or three special skill sets depending on
their age and training. For the most part, most typically stick
to one or two though, since some of the skill sets require
extensive training and practice to be useful. However, while a
death wraith gains the strength of whatever class power they
gain, they also gain the weaknesses, such as magic users being
weak to magic negation. This applies to all abilities learned,
which means death wraiths have to weigh strengths and weaknesses
of classes to find out what will work best for them.
- Ghost Sight, Ghost Touch and Sense Souls: Since the death
wraiths were made to interact with the spirits of dead mortals,
supernaturals, and deities, death wraiths are able to interact
with almost any manner of spirit or ghost. For the most part,
death wraiths have multiple abilities dealing with their
interactions of ghosts, where they are able to interact with
them in ways most mortals cannot. Since ghosts don't typically
manifest in the living world until they've become vengeful
spirits or hollows, death wraiths have to be able to interact
with ghosts in the veil, which they can do even from the living
world to a decree. They are also able to fight spirits
manifested in the living world much more easily. They are able
to see ghosts, and see their essence even when they are not
manifested. They are also able to touch, grab and attack ghosts,
in which they are able to attack them when they aren't
manifested. Death wraiths are also able to sense ghosts as well,
having the ability to sense the difference between ghosts and
demonic entites.
- Soul Storage/Collection, and Soul Purification: Since it's a
death wraith's purpose is to collect and shuttle souls to the
afterlife, death wraiths must have their own ways to take souls
to the afterlife. Every death wraith has some way to store and
collect souls, in which they are able to use this to take souls
with them. For the most part, this skill is pretty self
explanatory, at least as far as it's purpose. But when it comes
to functions, this is different for each death wraith. Some can
do things like storing souls in bottles, some use other objects
to store souls, or some can even store souls in their bodies
temporarily. This mostly depends on the death wraith, as they
all have their own ways of collecting souls for transport to the
afterlife. The second part of this is a death wraith's ability
to purify souls. While soul reapers usually take on hollows and
use their zanpakutos after defeating them to purify them, death
wraiths are able to remove corruption from souls using their
power. Usually, this also depends death wraith, as some have
unique purification techniques for purifying souls. A soul must
be purified before transport to the afterlife, and any risk of
being turned hollow or higher level specter must be removed
before taking them to the afterlife or the Hall of Souls.
- Soul Absorption/Corruption Absorption (Forbidden Arts): These
are forbidden arts among death wraiths, as they no longer need
to use either of these arts to survive. There was a time when
death wraiths would feed on the corruption of souls in the
living world, or feed on evil souls in order to survive, but
eventually the death wraiths adapted to human food, so they no
longer need to use this. Now, these two arts are forbidden, as
they can come with more risks than rewards. The first forbidden
art is soul absorption where the death wraith takes the whole
soul and devours it, using it for sustanence in the same way a
human would use a burger. A soul can restore a death wraith's
energy, and sustain them for up to four hours, and restore a
death wraith's darkness power if they are low on energy. The
second technique is corruption absorption. It used to be that
death wraiths purified souls by absorbing the corruption into
themselves, where they would devour it as sustanence. This
allows a death wraith to consume corrupting energy, though death
wraiths have to specially tune to this diet, since consuming
this energy can corrupt them if they aren't careful. However,
the benefit is that the corruption can not only restore a death
wraith's power (though not to the degree of devouring a soul),
but the corruption energy can make a death wraith stronger.
However, the risk to both of these, is that death wraiths can
poison themselves with these two ways of sustenance if they
aren't careful with things like hollow power or human emotional
energy. Kitsune does know how to do this, but has no need to
since he doesn't have a reason to need to absorb corruption due
to this being an outdated skill, and Kitsune seeing it more as a
curse than a blessing due to the risks involved when using this.
Spirit User Abilities:
- Spirit Energy Manipulation: Those who use spirit energy
manipulate spirit energy into attacks and other constructs, a
power originally perfected by humans to fight supernaturals and
then modified by other races once they figured out how to use it
effectively. This skillset is designed around spirit energy
attacks and focusing on one's spirit, training their spirit
power. Races all use spirit power different, with some having
specific skill sets, like certain monks and priestesses having
specific spirit energy skillsets. When one thinks of specific
spirit energy skillsets, most people think of soul reapers,
hollows and arrancars or they may think of holy vampires, and
some might even think of aura users who use aura as a type of
spirit energy. In addition to specific skillsets used by certain
races, they can also learn generic spirit energy training which
has been set up to grant more ways to use spirit energy to
attack opponents. This setup uses spirit energy specifically,
using it similar to how other races use things like mana, ki or
aura.
- Unique Spirit Energies/Positive and Negative Spirits:
Different races have different spirit energies, which often have
different effects. However, there are two main aspects of spirit
energy use in battle. The first is using one's own spirit energy
and it's unique effects. This depends on the race (as each race
is different), and one must figure out the spirit energies they
can use. Hybrids may not have as strong energy in one specific
race type, but usually they often have unique energies that
blend whatever races they have to create one that is as strong
as others. (See previous section for races' general unique
abilities). Some even have unique spirit uses, such as some
dragons developing dragon hunter spirit energy unique to them or
developing advanced spirit energy types. The other main aspect
is that some races learn to utilize positive/negative spirit
energies in their attacks, using them for different things. The
most common thing associated with this is the Darkfire's
elemental abilities which use positive and/or negative spirit
energy in combination with elementals. It is possible to use
this on its own to grant a spirit users attacks holy or dark
attribute. This is more effective for some races than others, as
some races positive/negative balance doesn't work the same way
as some, like holy vampires having purely positive energy or
angels and demons not having a light and dark side but having a
pure holy or demonic soul depending on the race.
- Unique Spirit Enhancements: Light/Dark/Twilight Spirit:
Kitsune has a rather unique soul, in that he can manipulate the
light and darkness in his soul to different levels. Usually, his
levels are equal and his light and dark cancel each other out,
but by manipulating these levels, he can use enhanced spirit
energy. Kitsune is able to use this to shift his spirit energy
to light, dark, or a mix of light and dark (twilight), granting
him multiple ways to channel his spirit energy. While pure
spirit energy has it's benefits, combining it with light, dark
or twilight can also have benefits, such as doing more damage to
specific light and dark users, or using it as a way to enhance
his spirit energy. The most powerful of his spirit energy uses
is his twilight spirit, which grants a much more powerful
spiritual energy, but also requires more energy since it mixes
two different spirit energies together and blends them rather
than canceling them out. This can be used with any of his spirit
energy attacks, and can focus through his techniques for
additional effects, such as a spirit gun made of twilight spirit
being able to do more damage to light and dark users. Kitsune
can also use this with his positive or negative "charge" to
empower his spirit energy as well.
- Spiritual Aura Attack/Defense: Almost all spirit energy users
develop their spiritual aura, gaining an enhanced spirit aura.
The first use of the spiritual energy aura is a passive defense,
that can defend the user while active. Similar to those like the
Darkfires who use elemental auras, spirit energy users can use
their spiritual auras as a passive defense to dampen blows and
can even be used to attack if the user can focus their aura into
attacks. This is a fairly standard ability of those that use
specific powers in their aura. And depending on the race,
different auras will be different, such as demon aura being far
stronger and more potent, or angels having a holy light spirit
aura. Usually, the amount of spirit power an aura has depends on
a number of things. For example, larger bodies are able to
channel stronger spirit energy, as larger bodies generate more
spirit power. Depending on the race and heritage, some creatures
have higher enhanced auras with specific effects, and might have
unique abilities using their aura. For example, Tartaros Kindron
Darkfire was able to use his aura to empower those with his
demonic spirit, or certain angels can use their aura to purify
areas of impure influences. Again, the biggest influence of
effects and abilities of an aura is what race the person is and
specific spirit abilities they gain or inherit as a result.
- Spirit Aura Physical and Supernatural Amplification: Similar
to abilities like mana amplification and ki amplification,
spirit energy users also learn to use this power as well. Those
with the use of spirit energy can amp their abilities the same
way, using spirit energy to boost their stats and supernatural
abilities. With it, most spirit energies can a passive amp to
their abilities that makes ups their stats without them having
to do anything, but users can also use spirit energy to amp
themselves more when they need to, powering up with spirit
energy through their body to amp their body's abilities. One
such method involves powering up energies in the body with
spirit energy, creating more powerful energies, such as using
this to create aura or chakra manipulation. It was through this
method that the aura abilities were created and certain other
special spirit based amplifications. This amplification only
works as long as the body has spirit energy to use to amp the
body and powers, and without enough of it, this amplification is
not usable.
- Spiritual Vectors: This is a technique used by spirit energy
users, in which they project their spirit from their backs. When
the spirit's power is released from the back, it's released as
tendrils that come out as extensions of the spirit that can be
used to attack opponents. These tendrils are typically very hard
to see, since they are clear. Some races are able to use
different shapes, such as one race who makes the tendrils into
arms with hands at the end of the arms. Depending on the person,
some people can also change the form of these vectors, such as
turning the tendrils into shields to block attacks, or can be
used to do things like create axes or other sharp weapons out of
the tendrils to attack opponents. These vectors can be used to
grab and throw objects, attack opponents, or they can be used to
fire spirit energy attacks. This power is an extension of the
spirit using spirit energy, and is a power that can be used to
deadly affect by those who use this power. Those with this power
can also use this to slice through objects and crush objects
when used with enough spirit energy, requiring users to be able
to handle putting a lot of spirit energy into this power. This
is one of the main attacks of a spirit energy user, as they are
able to use this in conjunction with other spirit energy attacks
as well. These vectors can be used to attack opponents or trap
them if wrapped around them, but must remain connected to the
body. If removed, the tendrils not only dispel, but the user
takes spiritual damage to their soul that can weaken them if the
tendrils are using enough power. Depending on the race, some
spirit energies can be seen by people more easily, such as a
death wraith spirit energy being black like shadows, or a demon
spirit energy being crimson, orange or some form of demonic
color.
- Burning Spirit: One of the skills developed by spirit energy
users where they designed this power so that they could create
something akin to certain elemental attacks. This one was
created by using a change of spirit form to intensely vibrate
spirit energy, generating immense heat so that the spirit energy
becomes extremely hot and using change of energy form to make
the spirit like a flame. This particular attack, if not's not
obvious, is meant to be a fire-like attack, and designed to be
used like fire. This can be used to attack with spirit energy
fireballs, create explosive spirit energy attacks and be used to
burn people through physical touch. Just like spirit lightning,
this bypasses elemental immunities, being able to burn people
with spirit energy rather than with actual elemental energies.
This power is counterable just like fire, except that the fire
cannot be put out under normal conditions, and has to be blocked
or dodged. The energy can be dispelled like energy by those that
can dispel energy, but wind powers or smothering the flames
doesn't put out the flames. However, the positive side is that
this attack doesn't do as much damage as typical flames and
doesn't spread to much beyond it's initial impact. In Kitsune's
world he come from, he developed this skill in order to counter
Kierran's spirit lightning he developed after gaining a Seiji
body after his soul escaped the hall of souls and required
another body to survive in the living world.
- Unique Attack: Soul Spear Blizzard: This is one of Kitsune's
unique spirit energy attacks, designed to counter certain
abilities used by his universe's Kierran. This creates small
spears of spirit energy, mixing light and dark spirit spears in
one large collection. When he fires these, he can focus on one
target, and the spears will attempt to home in on the person
Kitsune is focusing on. This can be focused to do a mix of
light, dark and twilight damage, attacking with a collection of
spears that use the different elements to confuse and disorient
the opponent, especially if they try to avoid one type and not
others, such as a light user trying to avoid dark spears while
not avoiding light spears. These spears are designed to spear
opponents, stabbing through them if the spears can pierce
someone's defenses, which depends on how strong the defenses
are. Those who are attacked with this usually have to move fast
to avoid it, and the best way to stop the homing effect is to
attack Kitsune directly so he loses concentration on who he's
focusing on. This technique is more about spearing opponents
than exploding these spears, so the spears don't explode when
they hit an opponent. Of course, aura breakers are also a good
way to dispel these.
- Spirit Gun: This attack was one of the main projectile attacks
created for the style where the user fires a blast of spirit
energy at an opponent with explodes on impact. Depending on the
user, there are different levels of spirit gun techniques.
Spirit gun is typically the base technique, where the user fires
a blast of spirit energy, big or small depending on what they
want to fire. Bigger spirit guns are able to do more damage but
take more energy, and smaller shots can do less damage but are
better for the spirit energy. This technique also has another
variation, which is called Spirit Shotgun where the user focuses
the spirit gun in their hands and blasts it outward using their
fingers to split the blast into multiple attacks, generating an
attack that can be used to hit a group in front of the user,
being an advanced spirit gun attack. Highly advanced users can
also use the spirit lightning, burning spirit and cold soul in
conjunction with this (if they are skilled enough) and can use
it to empower their spirit gun with more power, or granting the
energy a special effect, such as spirit lightning spirit guns
exploding in a burst of spirit lightning when it hits a target.
Of course, as one might expect, the larger more concentrated
spirit guns are harder to block, but strong enough defenses can
block this ability, and this ability can still be dodged like
normal if one cannot dispel the energy normally. This cannot be
combined with spirit vectors, and the spirit vectors cannot fire
this attack on their own, as the energy must be focused through
the hand, or through the fingers depending on what the person
wants to do.
- Spirit Missile: This is a variation technique of the spirit
gun, where the user creates a spear-like attack to try and
attack the opponent. This attack is designed to try and pierce
opponents, where the attack is able to generate one or a group
of spear like projectiles. Each user is able to form the spirit
projectiles as they want, such as forming them as knives, as
sharp spears, or as arrows, depending on what they want the form
to be. The effect is still the same though where this technique
is designed to spear opponents. This can also be combined with
the spirit lightning, burning spirit and cold soul to grant the
spears additional effects depending on what's used. This can
also be fired from one's spirit vectors as well, as this was a
projectile attack designed to be used by spirit vectors. This
attack is fairly adaptable and those who use it can change it's
form to better suit what they want the attack to do or what they
want it to look like. This is a fairly basic attack, but still
quite effective. Users can fire one or fire a group, though
firing more or making larger spear projectiles costs more power
to use. And while these are designed to pierce through armors
and shields, they can still be dodged, or opponents can use
cover to make sure they don't get hit.
- Spirit Sword: This is a variation of the spirit gun, where
instead of being fired at an opponent, the spirit energy is
focused into the hand and creates a sword of spirit energy the
user can attack with. This spirit sword is able to be used like
a sword, or the user can change the form of the sword into
another weapon, such as a spear or knife. Users can also change
the form of the sword if they want to do something like
extending the sword, or changing the form of the sword, as this
technique is another technique that is pretty adaptable. This
technique can be used in creative ways, such as some who change
it like a chain whip, or some who change the length at will to
make it extend and try to spear someone. This technique is
pretty adaptable, being able to be used a variety of ways, and
depending on the race, this can also have specific attacks, such
as demonic spirit swords also doing demonic energy damage, or
dragon spirits being able to do elemental spirit energy damage.
Some people even develop special sword techniques as well.
- Severing Soul Cutter: This is a variation of the soul sword
designed to attack the spirit rather than the body. This attack
works similar to the spirit sword, but instead of cutting the
body like normal, this is designed to attack the spirit of the
user, doing damage to their spirit. While they take no physical
damage from this technique, this technique can weaken those
struck with it as their soul is damaged, and may be unable to
properly control their energies. Some races spirits can also use
this technique to use different effects, such as death wraiths
being able to use this to attack ghosts and spirit type
opponents and do darkness damage to one's soul, which is what
the death wraith version of this technique was originally
designed for. This was originally designed to be used against
hostile spirits, so that this technique could be used to take on
spirits that would normally not take physical damage. This
technique also goes through solid matter, and cannot be used to
block attacks or projectiles unless they are spirit based in
nature, since this is made to attack on a spiritual plane rather
than a physical one.
- Spirit Beam: This was designed to be similar to those that use
ki beams and like hollows who use ceros. This attack fires a
beam of spirit energy, very similar in nature to a cero, at the
opponent to try and damage them. Depending on how the spirit
beam is fired, it can be fired in a few ways, similar to how
some hollows have created their own variations of ways to fire
ceros. The two main ways are usually firing a large beam, and a
thin beam. Firing a larger beam does more damage to opponents,
but takes more power. Firing a thin beam is designed more for
piercing opponents, which requires less power but a more
concentrated beam. There are other ways to fire this attack as
well, such as small controlled bursts, or concentrating it
different ways. And depending on the race, some spirit beams
will have special effects, like a demon spirit beam being far
more concentrated than normal and doing demonic energy damage,
or a dragon spirit beam also being elemental in nature. This can
also be combined with the burning spirit, spirit lightning, and
cold soul, in which the power can be used to amp the beam's
abilities.
- Spirit Summoning: This particular ability lets one summon
things hidden in their spirit, specifically things like their
spirit animal, or the Pai Zhua animal spirit. Users are able to
tap deep into their spirits and summon constructs of different
manifestations of the soul, and can summon those manifestations
using spirit energy in a manner similar to how Pai Zhua summon
their spirit animals. Depending on the skill set, some people
can summon multiple creatures from their soul by embodying
different parts of the soul, and depending on the skillset, some
can create their own constructs by giving their power to a
certain part of their soul and generating a spirit-based
familiar of their own. This power is designed to be very similar
to Darkfire elemental familiars in nature, beign controlled very
similarly. The summoned spirit creatures are dependant solely on
the person and what is in their spirits, with certain races
spirit constructs also being able to attack using unique spirit
energy. And in addition to being able to attack opponents, the
spirit constructs are also able to use spirit energy attacks to
try and attack opponents. As one might expect, dispelling this
requires one to dispel the spirit energy that makes them up, or
overcoming it with other energies (which can destroy it).
- Spirit Item Posession: This ability lets a user use their
spirit energy to empower objects around them. This is similar to
other spirit users who use this, in which objects, weapons and
armors can be empowered in order to use the spirit energy that
empowers the object, giving the object a life of it's own by
giving the item it's own consciousness. Depending on the
weapon's creator, some items or weapons can actually be turned
into intelligent weapons this way, or some weapons and items can
just have a consciousness of their own, which is most common
with making weapons. Some weapons that have been made in this
way develop their own abilities and their own ways of
communicating with their owner, and have their own ways of
growing. Object and weapons empowered by this gain the spirit
power of the person who empowered it, which includes the race's
spirit power, such as a death wraith spirit energy being able to
be used to make a shadow user weapon, or an angel making a
weapon a holy weapon by empowering it with their spirit. The
weapon or item empowered still uses the same powers as the
person who empowered it to an extent, and that means that they
have the same weaknesses, such as demons and angels items being
weak to the opposite force.
- Spirit Wave: This is one of the strongest abilities of a
spirit user, designed as one of the most advanced spirit
techniques one can use. Only those who have mastered the use of
spirit energy can use this power. When used, this amps the body
with spirit energy, granting a higher level of focus and power.
In addition, the spirit power is also amped through the body,
creating a powerful wave through the body that empowers it even
more. This technique, when used by a master of spirit power, can
use this to attack opponents with highly enhanced power
temporarily, or be used to fire a large wave of spirit energy at
an opponent. When used, this can also be used to purify others
of impure influences or purify them of any type of control over
their mind and body. This is a very powerful technique, but it
exacts a very heavy toll on the body, doing more damage to the
body as long as the technique is active, and overuse can weaken
a user's ability to use spirit energy. And while this is a
powerful attack, it can be dispelled or blocked by more powerful
energies, but usually more when it's fired in a wave at an
opponent.
- Spirit Share/Spirit Bond: This particular ability was modeled
after certain other arts where users share space in their minds,
but instead of doing so, users are able to bond a being to their
spirits. This is useful for bonding other spirits to one's soul
if they want to create this bond. When used, a user can bond to
just about any kind of spirit, from spirits of other people,
creatures and races, or they can bond to other types of spirits
like spirits that control the world's elements or spirits that
can be summoned from the spirit realm. When used, this creates a
bond where the two spirits are able to share their power, and
empower each other as long as they stay bonded together. The
bond can only be broken by an experienced spirit user, and while
bonded, the lives of the two are tied together, so if one dies
then so does the other. This is another technique Kitsune can
use, but choses not to, mostly because he hasn't met any spirits
that really he needs to bond with, as the only one he ever
considered it with bonded with someone else instead.
- Soul Energy Steal: This is a forbidden art among spirit energy
users. Not just because soul eaters are seen as dangerous, but
because this ability has a price for using it. This ability lets
a user absorb the spirits of others after they've been weakened
or killed, and lets the user absorb spirit energy from others,
and taking souls if enough essence is absorped from others. This
is a forbidden art because of the price it takes, as once
someone starts absorbing the spirit energy of others using this
technique, they must continue to feed on spirit energy or they
will age rapidly until they die. However, when used, this lets
someone absorb not just the spirits and energy of those they
take from, but allows the user to gain the other person's
abilities to include fighting styles, special abilities and
supernatural abilities. This also restores one's youth if they
are not in their prime, making this more useful to older users
who want to use this to absorb the power of others to restore
their youth. However, they must keep doing so constantly, or
they will age rapidly until they die. Absorbing some spirit
energy can grant someone temporary enhancement using one's
powers and abilities, but permanent gain of the abilities
requires the full taking of the soul. This is an effective soul
eater power that lets one gain the abilities more easily, but
the price can take a toll on others, as once the price takes
it's effect, this art cannot be undone. Kistune knows how to do
this, but doesn't do it due him believing the negatives outweigh
the positives with this ability.
- Mafukan: This is a technique designed by a spirit user who had
no outlet for their extra energy, and instead created a
technique to empower an object and let it absorb extra spirit
energy from the user passively. This technique is perhaps the
ultimate spirit user art, in which this art empowers an object
close to the user to absorb the user's extra spirit energy. Over
years of storing energy, the object becomes powerful, keeping a
storage of spirit energy within in order to keep the power
stored away for emergencies. The item empowered can be anything
the user wants, but must keep it with them. The main ability of
this is to store the energy and then be able to release it
later. When used, this can be used a few ways, such as
empowering someone or oneself, revitalizing and empowering them
beyond their typical limits, or using this to even revive
someone who has died (but this takes years of gathering power
before this can be used). Some use this as a backup to bring
themselvs back to life once if they die, or they may use this if
they are in a desperate situation that they need the extra
energy. Some even use this to train, using it to weaken one's
abilities and absorb the extra energy so that they can get
stronger more quickly, in which they use this to keep their true
power hidden. However, when used to weaken someone and let them
grow more quickly, they cannot release their full power until
the energy of the item is filled again, making this a
semi-permanent weakening. This technique requires a long time of
charging before it can be of any use, and until it does, this
technique is useless. Even experienced users cannot overcome
this as this requires a lot of energy to even be able to use.
However, users can speed this up slightly by feeding their item
more spirit energy, sometimes cutting the time down it requires
to make this usable. And once used, all of the power is used in
this, so using it and trying to save some of the energy in it is
impossible, making this something the user must be sure they
want to use before doing so. Kitsune has a ring on his finger
which is his way of using this. The ring has enough energy in it
that it could bring someone back to life, or bring him back to
life once if he were to die and want to use it.
Combat and PI Skills:
- Rapier/Gun Combat Style: Kitsune's combat style is a
combination of sword and gun, in which he uses his sword to
attack, and sometimes mixes in gun shots to attack his opponents
if they are focused on his sword. This lets Kitsune use his gun
and sword to keep most opponents guessing, since he can use one
or the other, and he is able to attack from close to medium
range with either weapon. His combat style mixes in a rapier
like style, and a close combat gun-slinging style in which he
would try to mix physical attacks with shooting at an opponent.
This style is Kitsune's own unique style, and being a mix of
rapier styles and gun kata styles. Kitsune is a pretty skilled
fighter up close with this style, and this tends to be his main
weapon style since he focuses on using his soul sword and gun to
fight opponents. When combined with his dark and light skills,
this style tends to be a very dangerous mix of abilities, and
opponents fighting Kitsune have to stay on their guard to avoid
his attacks.
- Death Wraith Todesgeister Style Master: This is the style of
basic combat taught to all death wraiths. This style combines
basic defensive and offensive movement with death wraith shadow
power, where the death wraiths learn to combine their physical
combat with their shadows in order to attack opponents. This
could be as simple as extending a punch using shadows to throw a
punch at an opponent, or turning a shadow into a blade to use a
weapon-esque style. This style is very adaptable, depending on
the death wraith and what they prefer in fights. This is a
fairly basic style, but allows a bit of customization depending
on the death wraith and their skill at combat. Masters of this
style are able to use this for attack and defense using fluid
motion and depending on the death wraith, can focus on their
durability, strength, agility, flexibility and/or speed,
depending on the death wraith's own individual abilities, as
this can be focused in multiple ways. This style can be used on
it's own, or it can be used as a weapon style. Since each Death
Wraith is different, how they use this is typically different.
- Elite Soul Collector Combat Master: A Death Wraith specially
trained is a skilled warrior and highly trained assassin. Those
with elite soul collector combat training can specialize in
several death wraith and human martial arts, and have an easier
time learning new combat styles. These Death Wraith are at peak
performance levels for their kind and train for maximum control
over powers and physical body, as this training helps focus the
things that hurt other combat specialists, and most death wraith
learn to minimize their own body's distractions in battle. This
allows both males and females to shut down all emotional and
reproductive systems to allow for peak performance and to keep
down the chances for getting distracted, allowing them to keep
their minds focused on fights when they need to. The biggest
problem with this style is that being too focused can lead to
being surprised by sneak attacks or by interrupts to fights.
However, advanced and master level death wraiths are able to use
this without having that happen, having tuned to a balance
between focus on the fight and focus on what's around them.
- Death Wraith Stealth Combat Master (Stealth and Tracking
Evasion Master): Death wraiths specialize in stealth, and this
shows in their combat. They are not only able to fight with
stealth, but they have the ability to avoid tracking of most
kinds. For the most part, death wraiths are masters of stealth,
being able to hide from anyone around them, usually through the
use of shadows, though masters of combat are able to hide
without using shadows. For the most part, when one tries to
track down a death wraith, they eliminate most things that would
normally give them away to trackers, such as causing things like
blood, hair and skin particles to disappear into the shadows.
Most death wraiths are able to avoid trackers to a large degree,
and are able to use their abilities in stealth in ways most
normally wouldn't. Advanced death wraiths and master level death
wraiths are able to use this style to hide even in plain sight,
where they can use the environment to hide themselves from
opponents. For the most part, the only times a death wraith is
found is when they want to be, or they are being tracked with a
supernatural spell.
- Death Wraith Combat Speed Art: Stealth Step: This style is a
stepping method focused around stealth, in which it was
developed similarly to a soul reapers Flashstep, or the hollow
art of Sonido. This allows death wraiths to use advanced speed
arts, in which they are able to use high speed stepping methods
to get ahead of most opponents. There are a number of arts that
come with this stepping method. The biggest one is the shadow
replacement, where a death wraith can leave behind shadows, in
the form of the user in order to fool opponents, allowing them a
stealthy attack by using this. This is similar to a replacement
technique where people replace themselves with things like
clones or ninja art using logs. The art makes no sound upon use,
as it's designed for stealth over anything else. Upon using
this, a death wraith makes no sound at all, and foot steps
cannot be heard, making a death wraith's stealth-based combat
even more dangerous. While this art is speedy and can be used
for stealth, it still works similar to other stepping methods,
where things like disappearing from view can only be done while
in motion.
- Spirit Combat Styles: In addition to other fighting styles
individual users learn, there are also fighting styles that can
be learned using spirit energy. Among them are fighting styles
like Pai Zhua, Satsui no Hado, and Soul/Psycho power. Those that
learn these styles are able to weaponize their soul energy in
normal combat, not just using it as an amp, but also using it as
a fighting style of it's own. Depending on the user, some can
learn certain styles with proper training depending on what the
user wants to learn, or can find the ability to learn. Fighting
styles that use spirit energy in physical combat tend to have a
few things in common. The first is that the soul energy is often
weaponized in some way to use against opponents in direct
combat. The second is that those who use this often use emotions
in order to use this power. The best example is the soul and
psycho powers, which are two opposite fighting styles using
sides of the soul. The psycho power sacrifices all good in the
soul to feed the dark side of the soul, powering itself on
negative emotions while soul power focuses positive and often
sacrifies the dark side of the soul to power the good side of
the soul. Then there are other styles that use certain powers to
feed others, like the forbidden Shaolin lion style that feeds
anger to grow the power of the spirit without sacrificing any
part of the soul. The last thing is that those who use this can
often fire spirit energy attacks in physical combat, or focus
their combat into projectile spirit energy attacks that they can
use in physical combat. For the most part, these styles are all
individual and have their own weaknesses, with one of the major
ones being those who can feed on spirit energy, in which makes
these styles seem like lunch to those that feed on soul energy.
Kitsune knows how these work, but hasn't bothered learning them.
- Spirit Combat Acceleration: This is a combat acceleration
technique that was modeled after soul reaper flashstep or
arrancar sonido. This method uses spirit energy to speed up the
body's movements, and uses this to amp the body's ability to
move so that opponents can move fast enough to keep up with fast
supernaturals. This combat tactic lets users speed themselves up
by concentrating the amp of their spirits into their body,
usually projecting it into the limbs so that the limbs can move
more efficiently. This technique requires precision movement,
careful coordination and the ability to process things at higher
speeds, since this is a dangerous combat maneuver that can
easily result in someone hurting themselves, like running
themselves into things if they can't stop process what's going
on fast enough and can't stop before they hit something. This
particular style is often used by more experienced fighters used
to moving fast through combat stepping methods or other speed
based abilities, since they are used to moving fast. Using this
is very difficult, but if used properly, the skill can prove
very useful in combat. Users, however, must be careful when
combining this with combat style stepping methods, as sometimes
the combination can be too much speed to handle.
- Supernatural Hunter Training: Exorcism, Weakness and Trap
Knowledge: Kitsune is trained in supernatural hunting thanks to
the supernatural organizations he's worked with, his death
wraith training, and research he did for his PI work, being
trained in how to do things like exorcise demons and angels, use
supernatural trap spells and markings, and knowing as much as he
can about supernaturals in general. Kitsune is fully trained in
everything supernatural, from vampires and werewolves to angels
and demons and even some alternate dimension creatures. Kitsune
is highly trained in typical tactics, knowing a lot about
supernaturals from species to sub-species, to even strengths and
weaknesses of each race and sub race of power creatures. Kitsune
has trained heavily in this art, and knows how to take advantage
of weaknesses, but also knowing strengths of certain types of
opponents that he needs to avoid or find a way around. Though
Kitsune doesn't know everything about every race type, he has
studied a lot of different races in his time as a PI, which he
has had a lot of time to perfect his supernatural hunting
skills.
- Tracking and Hunting Expert: Thanks to Kitsune's many years
hunting supernaturals and teaching magic users how to hunt
supernaturals, combined with his special training, it left him
with an expert sense of tracking targets. Kitsune is able to do
very subtle things, like tell whether a foot print is his target
or not by things like the shape of the boot and how deep the
boot-print is, as well as also being able to tell where their
opponents go thanks to things like people walking on plants, and
animals that are unusually silent in any one direction. Being an
advanced tracking expert, he also developed a sense of when
opponents are near, as well as usually knowing which way his
opponent is going. And thanks to his enhanced senses, this is
made more effective as he can use his enhanced senses to track
things like traces of body heat, traces of someone's presence,
or even just telling what's around them using enhanced senses.
- Advanced Private Investigator Skills: Being a PI as his main
job, Kitsune is highly advanced in certain skills he needs for
his job. The biggest one being stealth and being able to gather
information about people he's investigating. This is usually
pretty easy thanks to his light and dark planes-walking, but he
has other skills as well that help immensely. When he cannot
leave supernatural traces, he is an expert in breaking into
places, such as lockpicking doors and using simple means to get
almost anywhere he wants to go. Due to his high intelligence and
specific skillset, Kitsune is very good at breaking into places
when he needs to, and can do so using human methods so he
doesn't leave a supernatural trace if he doesn't want to use his
light or shadow travel. Due to always needing to have new ways
of doing things, Kitsune is very good with his skill sets as a
PI, and knows how to handle just about everything, such as
following and tracking people, gathering information, and even
hacking computers.
- Interrogation/Information Gathering Expert: Another thing that
Kitsune is good at is interrogating people and gathering
information. Because of this, Kitsune is able to interrogate
people to get information from them, even often disguising his
interrogation as a normal talk in order to get people to open
up. This isn't just used when people are captured, but Kitsune
will also use this to talk to friends of people he's
investigating, usually just appearing curious about someone, or
just trying to get people talking casually enough that they
don't think about what they say. Kitsune is very good at
gathering information, not just from objects or papers left
behind, but Kitsune is very good at getting people to reveal
information to him. Not only can Kitsune do this casually to
some people, he also knows how to talk to people who know what
he's doing, such as making a deal with someone for information
in exchange for money or something they might want. Kitsune is
very crafty in how he handles information gathering, and often
is very good at doing so. Thanks to this, Kitsune tends to do
very well as a PI, and this is one of his better skills.
Spirit User Passive Abilities:
- Spiritual Defense Iron Skin: This particular passive skill was
based on the arrancar art, hierro, which uses spirit power to
strengthen the skin to increase defense in battle. This power
works similar to dragon skin in how it operates, and helps
dampen attacks so that they do less damage. The degree of this
depends on the person's spiritual power, and how much energy
they are able to generate, in which this power is trained and
concentrated using energy normally wasted when expelled from the
body. This skill's strength depends on the person, with some
having stronger ability to use this and some having weaker
abilities. Abilities like regeneration and other hardened skin
abilities make this ability weaker, since power is usually
diverted to other methods, but those with just this power can
use a stronger form of this than those without things like
regenerate. Trying to pierce one's defense requires more power,
and the stronger the technique, the harder it is to pierce
someone. This acts like a natural defense to those with this
power, and helps them defend against attacks to a degree. And
depending on the race, they can gain defense against certain
techniques, such as death wraiths spirit energy being able to
also weaken shadow attacks that might be used on them. But just
as they may gain strengths, they also gain weaknesses, like
death wraith versions of this skill upping defense against
shadow abilities, but this technique can be overcome in death
wraiths far more easily with concentrated light attacks and
blessed sea salt.
- Spirit Protection Soul Strengthening: This ability allows one
to use their spiritual power to protect their souls,
strengthening their souls against possible opponents that might
want to try and take their souls. This ability uses spirit
energy to strengthen their souls hold on the body, and is a
passive ability that prevents users from letting their souls be
drawn out of the body through opponents like soul eaters and
soul energy stealing opponents. Usually, this technique draws
the spiritual power inward, allowing users to also defend
themselves from spiritual attacks to a degree, protecting the
soul from things that attack on spiritual planes.
- Soul Binding Weapons/Attach Item to Soul: Thanks to certain
supernatural races, there are two main powers people use for
their spirits when it comes to weapons. The first is a soul
bound weapon, where certain races are able to awaken soul bound
blades depending on the race. The two most well known races that
use this are soul reapers, death wraiths, and arrancars. Those
who are able to do this usually gain a weapon specific to their
race, usually the weapon depends on the invididual and the race,
with some races having specific uses for their weapons, such as
arrancars zanpakuto's controlling their released form. The
second ability of this power is the ability to attach one's
weapons to their soul, being a power designed so that
supernaturals can have connections to their weapons that allow
them to be better fighters, and lets them not only use their
weapons more effectively, but lets them control and
summon/desummon their attached weapons at will. This second
power is usually for those that want to attach other weapons
that aren't soul-bound weapons to oneself.
- Postive/Negative Spirit Balance: In order to tune their
spirit, every person must find their own spiritual balance.
Almost all beings, with certain exceptions, have both positive
and negative portions of their soul. In order to use spirit
energy, one must learn their specific balance of power and then
balance their positive and negative (assuming they have both).
Some races can skip this step, like holy vampires, who have one
pure side, though they still have to become aware of how their
spirit energy is set up before using it. This makes it where
every one who learns spirit energy learn to balance their
positive and negative power, making it difficult for opponents
to unbalance them, such as someone trying to infect someone's
dark side of their soul to power it up. This is most evident
with those with harder to control abilities, as this helps them
more easily control their abilities, as well as giving them
experience at using their positive and negative energies. Since
some races are able to pick and chose which sides of their souls
they want to use in certain abilities, this power is pretty
necessary.
- Spirit Energy Training: Those who want to train in spirit
energy do not do so in a traditional sense. Those that train in
spirit energy cannot simply train their physical bodies and call
it a day, and require specific training. Those who train their
spirit energy have to not only train physically, but they also
have to push their spirit energy beyond it's limits, training
the spirit to generate more power on a consistent basis. When
training, most have their own ways of doing so. However, while
things like meditation can help train to some extent, the true
training comes from using spirit energy and pushing that power
beyond it's limits. There are many ways to do this, but those
who train in it have to train harder than most people who use
typical energy do. This may not be a problem for some who have
high levels of spirit, but those that do not have to train much
more harshly, making this a good path of training for those that
want to become powerful, but is difficult in the beginning for
those that don't have as much affinity for spiritual abilities.
Since most people do start small, massive training is often
necessary to be able to use spirit energy at all, let alone
grow. Some don't like the sheer amount of work people need to
put into this training, but some use it for just that purpose,
as some feel that training the spirit and the body can help them
grow as warriors.
- Soul Healing: Those with spiritual energies are able to use
their spirit energy to heal souls that have been damaged to a
degree. Those with permanent soul damage or souls that have
taken heavy damage are usually weakened or they may be affected
physically by it, but those with spirit energy are able to heal
that damage depending on their spiritual natures. Some are able
to do this more easily than others, such as angels and holy
vampires who specialize in more positive powers. Though races
like demons and death wraiths who use darker sides of their
souls may have a harder time doing so. However, they can also
use their spirit energy to remove corruption and tainting of
souls and spirits to a degree, with some races being better at
it than others. Those with this can also heal the body as well,
making this able to heal just as easily as other healing
abilities, and having more range to healing souls and spirits.
- Soul Resonance: Those with spirit energy are able to harmonize
with other spirits, being able to use this passive technique to
tune their spirit powers to combine their spirit power with
another supernatural. For example, those with living weapons or
spirit bound weapons have to use this to be able to wield their
weapons. However, those with this technique are able to tune to
others, combining their powers with each other more easily. This
can result in special techniques being usable that normally
wouldn't be able to be used, such as a demon and angel combining
their spirits to create a unique spirit attack that blends their
powers together. The powers usable depend on those tuning to
each other, and the powers of the other person. Some are even
able to use this with special abilities to transform certain
abilities as well, such as combining spirit energy summoning
with an elemental power to change the combined form into an
enhanced form as a more powerful construct. This is different
for everyone, and some may have easier times tuning to people
than others.
- Astral Projection/Commune with the Dead/Astral Possession:
Those that are in tune with their spirits are able to project
their spirits when they desire through astral projection. This
power lets a spirit user project themselves, mostly so that they
can interact with the dead and with spirits. Those with this are
able to go to the Veil where spirits are usually found, or the
user can attempt to go to the Spirit Realm, which is a realm
where natural spirits reside, if they are able to percieve the
spirits. This lets users commune with the dead, and with
spirits. Of course, the biggest use for this is to interact with
spirits, but also if one is trying to interact with a dead
spirit, it is much easier to do so in astral projection than in
physical form. Those who are in astral projection are also able
to possess those that are not immune to being controlled, in
which usually this is best done when someone is asleep. Of
course, those immune to psychic abilities and other forms of
mind manipulation won't be affected.
- Soul Reading: This lets a spirit energy use their tuning to
the spiritual to read the souls of others, usually allowing them
to sense the presence of other souls around them. This could be
as simple as sensing the presence of someone close by, or this
could include sensing things like ghosts that are not usually
physically present. This is similar to many supernatural sixth
senses, except that it lets a spirit user interact with more
things spiritually than most mortals would be able to. Not only
can someone sense the spirits of those around them, but they are
able to tell what presences are around them by the soul and what
kind of soul they are sensing, since every race has different
spirits. This skill is also immune to typical abilities to hide
one's presence, since the user can sense the soul of people,
which bypasses sensing one's presence. The only way to hide from
this skill is to suppress the soul's energy, and make it where
users cannot sense the soul of the person.
- Inner Spirit/Inner World Sense/Protection: Like soul reapers,
spirit energy users are able to focus inward in order to go into
their spirit/mind's inner world. This is similar to how soul
reapers, arrancars and even the Darkfires use this art, in which
they are able to use this to control their minds completely.
This includes being able to do things like being able to
suppress certain parts of the mind, as well as being able to
emit certain emotions despite not actually feeling them. Most
who use this art are able to fool even psychic people, in which
they can control what psychic people are able to read, and can
even use that to their advantage. Most who use this art are
immune to psychic abilities that influence the mind if they are
skilled enough with this art, though the main use of this is for
those that want to use the attach item to self power or unlock a
soul bound weapon, in which this training is necessary in order
to connect to one's own soul to do so. In order to use this, one
has to keep focus of their own mind, and make sure they don't
lose control lest they be overwhelmed and have difficulty
regaining control.
Death Wraith Passive Abilities:
- Death Wraith Immunity to Shadow/Death Effects: Due to the
death wraiths being born and created in darkness, they are
completely immune to most darkness abilities and the effects of
death energy. For the most part, death wraiths are able to
resist almost any form of darkness as well as death energy
effects like rotting or acidic shadows. While they can still be
hurt by certain attacks, or they can be hurt by impact or slash
damage of attacks, they are completely immune to any specific
extra effects of darkness or death energy. There are a few
exceptions to this, such as corrupted light and corrupted
darkness, which can still be used to damage death wraiths, or
certain death abilities like a death scythe or a grim reapers
mix of life and death energies may still be able to hurt a death
wraith depending on their skill. Of course, with this immunity,
due to them being creatures of death and shadows, death wraiths
are more vulnerable to light and the effects of life energies,
since these forces can counter their natures. Kitsune is not
vulnerable to light, but is still vulnerable to life and
corrupted darkness and light.
- Death Wraith Mutation Immunity to Light Effects: While Kitsune
is still vulnerable to life effects, he is not vulnerable to
light effects, since his abilities of light make him immune to
this. For the most part, Kitsune is immune to almost any effect
of light on most death wraiths, such as light being able to
weaken most death wraiths and pierce through them more easily.
Because Kitsune has the power of light infused into him just as
shadows are, he is not affected by light effects such as light
burning him like it would some death wraiths, or certain other
effects of light. While Kitsune can still be hurt by light
attacks, such as being cut by light attacks or pierced by light
beams, Kitsune doesn't take any extra damage from light that
most death wraiths would take. With Kitsune's immunity to both
light and dark though, his weakness is more in the realm of life
energy rather than light, since life energy still does the same
damage to him it does to any other death wraith. Even though
Kitsune does have light abilities, he is still a being of death.
- Death Wraith Long Lifes: The death wraiths are different from
mortals, and live far longer than most creatures. Death wraiths
live over a million years before dying of old age. This is
mostly thanks to their regenerative powers of shadows and the
fact they spend most of their lives in the shadow realm. The
longest living death wraith lived up about 1.5 million years.
This means that most death wraiths age extremely slowly once
they hit a certain point of their life cycle, and only once they
reach about 950 thousand years does the age start to degrade
their abilities, including their regeneration, in which they
start aging until they die of old age. For the most part,
depending on the strength of the regenerative power, some can
live past a million years, but most usually die somewhere around
the million year mark due to the fact they lose the ability to
use a lot of their powers. Until they reach the point where
their abilities weaken, they typically remain very strong in
their abilities and are usually in their primes. The reason this
is hard to predict is partially due to how, even weakened, aging
death wraith still regenerate, still slowing their aging.
- Enhanced Intelligence/Learning and Strategist: Kitsune is a
very intelligent person, having a much higher level intelligence
than many other supernaturals. Kitsune has always been very
smart, with his brain operating much faster and granting him
highly enhanced intelligence as a result. Not only does this
increase his reflexes in a fight, but this increases Kitsune's
ability to strategize and learn. Kitsune is smart enough that he
can keep up with battling highly intelligent races, and can
learn very easily thanks to his enhanced intelligence. For the
most part, this makes Kitsune someone who is very good at
thinking through situations, which helps him to come up with
strategies in battles. Kitsune mostly uses this intelligence to
keep up with advanced tech, and to come up with better ways to
do his job as PI. Kitsune is usually reading when he's not
working, and can learn new information easily. Since Kitsune
reads a lot, he learns a lot like being able to learn how tech
works through reading about how it works. Thanks to also having
a photographic memory, Kitsune can also remember things that
most people would forget, such as simple things he noticed while
walking around, or subtle details of certain PI investigations
he's done over the years he's been a PI.
- Multilingual and Ancient Language Experts: Just like most
creatures who have been around since the dawn of time, many of
the death wraith speak multiple languages. For the most part,
depending on where they have been, they have learned a lot about
human culture, most of them speak a number of languages, and are
experts on ancient laguages, with most being able to speak and
write in almost any ancient language of humans. Many are very
fluent in Enochian, biblical Hebrew, normal hebrew, and even
most major languages spoken in major countries. They can even
speak mostly forgotten languages that most don't even know, like
the original languages of the world that have been lost to time.
For the most part, most death wraith are very good at learning
new languages and at speaking and writing in multiple languages
that have been used over the years. Most usually stick to one
major language, but most can switch languages for almost any
occassion. Kitsune speaks many languages, usually sticking to
English, Spanish, French, or Romanian as his main languages
depending on where he is.
- Death Wraith Enhanced Senses: Much like most supernaturals and
enhanced humans, each death wraith has enhanced senses as well.
For the most part, this depends solely on the death wraith, as
some senses enhance more than others depending not only on the
death wraith, but the specific abilities of the death wraith,
with some death wraith having different senses depending on
certain abilities. As there are many types of abilities that
affect senses, many death wraiths can end up being different.
Most usually gain simple enhanced senses, with all their senses
going up slightly. Usually this can be good or bad, as some
enhanced senses can be a hinderance as much as a help, like
death wraith using wolf power increasing their sense of smell
also being a weakness if used against them properly. This is
dependant on the death wraith, as every death wraith has a
different balance of senses. And just like death wraiths,
Kitsune also has enhanced senses. His sense are all fairly
slightly enhanced with one not being much higher over another.
As such, he has enhanced sight, smell, touch and hearing, but
not enough that he can be overwhelmed as easily as some other
races with enhanced senses.
- Death Wraith Dark Vision: All death wraith are able to see in
all levels of light, being able to perceive what's around them,
even if it's total darkness. This means that all death wraiths
have the ability to not be affected by darkness restricting
attacks that attempt to blind opponents since they can see even
in total darkness no matter how powerful the darkness. For the
most part, this is a pretty simple power that comes from the
death wraith's birth in the shadows, in which they are essences
of pure darkness. They specialize in darkness, so they have to
be able to see in the dark in order to navigate places like the
shadow realm. However, things like flashbangs can blind them,
and things like smoke or other vision obstructions can still
blind them. This mostly only applies to darkness and darkness
based attacks that try to blind death wraiths.
- Death Wraith Presence Sense: Much like other supernaturals,
death wraiths can sense the presence of other beings, and
sensing who and what they are. This can sense not only one's
presence, but their levels of energy and how tough they are,
allowing the user to gauge how they stand against them, as well
as often being able to tell what they are by their presence if
the user recognizes what kind of presence it is. However, this
can be deceived by skilled opponents, sometimes not appearing
correctly if the user can't sense the opponent's full power or
use powers that fool this sense. There are also skills that hide
one's presence so those with this sense can't sense them, or
some opponents can suppress their presence so they're not fully
able to be sensed. Most death wraiths are able to use this to
sense not just what's around them, but they are able to use this
ability to sense what's going on around the world, and when big
presences appear, like Lucifer, or higher level angels and
demons.
- Death Wraith Emotional Manipulation: Death wraiths are all
about controlling their emotions. And in doing so, they suppress
their emotions, with most using cold logic instead of emotions.
For the most part, death wraiths can feel emotions, but are
taught to suppress them in order to not only help with
controlling themselves, but also to help their stealth since not
having emotions can hide them from certain opponents that can
sense emotions. This emotional manipulation is the main method
death wraiths use to keep themselves from having to worry about
their emotions, and use this to always keep their emotions
suppressed, as they see emotions as "corruptive". The only time
that death wraiths are allowed emotions are typically under
special circumstances, such as chosing mates, which even then
many death wraith choose mates through logic rather than
emotion. This can be a danger to death wraiths though, since
they not only don't deal with emotions, they rarely allow powers
that rely on emotions due to the death wraiths viewing emotions
as corruptive.
- Death Wraith Self-Control Manipulation: Like soul reapers,
death wraiths have to train inward in order to unlock their soul
swords, and protect their minds from things like corruptive
energies. In doing so, they are able to go into their
mind/spirit's world, which is unique for each person. Similar to
the disciplined mind art of the Darkfires, death wraiths are
able to learn how to control their inner world, using it for
controlling things like emotions and helping them avoid certain
psychic abilities. Death wraiths use this to help keep their
emotions suppressed when they need to as a second stage of their
emotional suppression, so that they are able to keep themselves
from letting too many emotions cloud them. Since many death
wraiths consider certain emotions of humans to be a hinderance
rather than a strength, they aim to suppress emotions that might
hinder a death wraith's abilities. Most death wraiths learn this
as a means to do so, though this also helps against those with
psychic abilities.
- Enhanced Death Wraith and Combat Training Physical Stats:
Kitsune is a very skilled and trained fighter, with him being
very good at taking on opponents. While Kitsune is unique for
his dark and light skill, he is also highly skilled in close
combat, and his physical training has left him at the peak of
his death wraith ability. He is a combat trained death wraith,
and knows how to fight very well, with him having a pretty good
talent for combat. Kitsune is a very skilled and balanced
fighter, not having one stat over another. If any stat was
stronger, it would be his stamina and durability, thanks to his
regeneration. However, his other stats are trained more equally.
Thanks to his training, he is strong enough to bend metal, such
as pulling a locked door and breaking the lock. He is also fast
enough to disappear from view when he is in motion, since he is
trained to keep up with fast and strong supernaturals. Kitsune
is a pretty good fighter, despite not really being one to take
things too seriously most of the time.
Transformations:
- Enhanced Death Wraith Form: Like most death wraiths, Kitsune
has his normal death wraith form, which he can turn into at any
time. The death wraiths natural forms are more of a shadow with
shadows emitted almost like smoke, where their eyes often glow
with dark energy and unique patterns lighting up on their hands.
In their natural forms, death wraiths are typically more
powerful, and have highly enhanced death wraith abilities. In
this form, they can not only control shadows and summon shadows
from the shadow realm, but they are also able to take shadow
form, going intangible in the shadows when they need to.
Depending on the death wraith, they may also have other enhanced
abilities in their death wraith form, with some having special
abilities that may change the look of the death wraith form
slightly. This could be as simple as demon power turning the
blue glow on their hands red, or powers like hollow power making
them more of a shadow creature type hollow. For Kitsune, he can
enhance this power with twilight power, turning himself more of
a mix of light and dark, or enhance himself untill he becomes a
being more of light. For Kitsune, he is able to adapt this form
based on whether he's using dark, light or twilight, in which
his form will reflect whatever power he's focused in. This makes
him slightly harder to attack than some death wraiths since
Kitsune can shift from darkness to light or to twilight.
Weaknesses:
- Blessed sea salt is one of the death wraiths' two biggest
weaknesses. All death wraiths are highly allergic blessed sea
salt, which can cause a wide variety of problems like
anaphylaxis/anaphylactic shock, breathing problems, or even lead
to death. The only real way to overcome the effects of blessed
sea salt is for a death wraith to retreat into the shadows, and
let the regenerative properties shadows have on them overcome
it, which can be a painful process. Weapons using blessed sea
salt can do extra damage as well, and weapons coated in this can
possibly cause blood infections if the blessed sea salt manages
to get into their blood stream. Smoke grenades using blessed sea
salt are also very effective if the opponent can get a death
wraith to breathe in the smoke, as well as mixing it into water
can make a special salt water mix that works on death wraiths
like holy water works on demons and unholy creatures. Like all
death wraiths, this still affects Kitsune as much as it would
any other death wraith.
- Iron and ghost-fighting weapons are the second of the death
wraith's biggest weaknesses. Iron is harder to put into an
inhalable or liquid, but weapons using iron do extra damage to
death wraiths. While not as deadly as blessed sea salt, iron is
a natural counter to ghost abilities, and does damage to death
wraiths as a result. Any weapon designed to fight ghosts or
ghost-like creatures does extra damage to them. This includes
other soul swords, the zanpakuto's of soul reapers and the death
scythes of the grim reapers. However, iron weapons, specifically
being a counter to ghosts work well on death wraiths, with
weapons using iron having a much more damaging effect on death
wraiths than many other ghost fighting weapons. For the most
part, any weapon, iron or not, that is designed to fight beings
of death or ghosts in general will work on a death wraith.
- Light and life energies are also a good counter to a death
wraith, since they are creatures of darkness and death. Thanks
to their natures, life energy is a natural counter to the death
aspects of their power, while light works better to counter
their darkness. Items like flashbangs or concentrated light can
overpower many forms of darkness or shadows, with death wraiths
taking more damage if they are hit by concentrated light
attacks, and their shadows can be dispelled and negated
temporarily thanks to things like flashbangs. Life energies can
do more damage to them as well, due to their death aspects,
which makes life energy a good way to damage them. Weapons using
life and/or light do more damage, and can more easily cut or
pierce a death wraith's body. While light doesn't do extra
damage to Kitsune, life energy does still do more damage.
Corrupted light and darkness, as well as twilight and other
light/dark combinations, also work well against those with the
power of darkness like Kitsune. For Kitsune, these skills even
work against his light abilities.
- All death wraith elementals are counterable by other
elementals. They use elementals differently, but this doesn't
mean that their elements can't be countered like normal. For
example, the best method to counter plasma would be liquid
manipulation, or gas manipulation being able to counter liquid
manipulation. Every form of matter can counter another in some
form if the user is creative enough, and certain elements can be
used to counter certain parts of a death wraith elemental power,
such as ice being used to counter the flame part or lightning
part of plasma use, or wind powers being used to counter solid
matter manipulation since solid matter is mostly earth
manipulation in some form. For the most part, each element is
counterable by almost any other element if the person countering
is smart and creative enough.
- Spirit energy users still have race weaknesses of whatever
they are. If one is something like an angel or demon, they will
still have typical angel or demon weaknesses. Most spirit users
can be killed just like whatever race they are, and unless
stated otherwise, most races can be killed if their heart or
brain are destroyed. Each race has it's own strengths, yet has
it's own weaknesses. Spirit users are no different. Typically,
soul healing can heal injuries of the users, but this is not a
passive regeneration, meaning that one has to concentrate in
order to use it. Of course, spirit energy users still take
damage from attacks just like any other creatures.
- Spirit energy users have a harder time training spirit energy
than most other energy users. This is due to the fact that they
have to push their spirits to the limit, which usually means
pushing far beyond the body's own physical limits. As such, this
training may add more strength, but it is much harder to keep up
with than most other energies. Spirit users are able to grow
just like typical fighters and get stronger as time goes on, but
their training is still very hard on them. Those who are just
starting out, or don't have as much experience tend to not be
able to draw on as much power unless they have a naturally
strong spirit aura, while elders tend to be able to have access
to stronger and more abundant spirit energy, but often times, by
the times they reach this stage, they are often old and their
bodies don't always keep up with their spirits.
- Spirit energy users might take spiritual damage instead of
physical damage if they overstrain their spirit. For the most
part, spirits are much more durable than bodies are due to the
soul being eternal (under most circumstances), but that doesn't
mean the spirit is invincible. Those who overstrain their spirit
too much may do irrepairable damage to their spirit, damaging
their ability to use spirit energy. And if a user has their
spirit energy turned back on them, it is possible that one can
do spirit energy damage rather than physical damage. This means
that control is typically required for most spirit users, as if
they continue to draw power even after not having any, they can
do damage to themselves, a mistake some newer spirit energy
users tend to fall into as they think they can push their spirit
further than they think. This also means that it is important to
know the limits of one's own spirit and not push too far beyond
it.
- Just like some other energies, drawing too much could risk
killing the user. It's bad enough that trying to draw too much
spirit energy can damage a user's spirit, but if one still
continues to push beyond that point that they take spiritual
damage, they can actually kill themselves if they take the
energy that binds their soul to their bodies, in which they can
accidently permanently separate their souls from their bodies,
which can result in either death, or the soul being unable to
return to the body and the body running around without a soul,
which is often never a good thing. This usually requires pushing
far beyond one's limits, something most people would be aware of
by this point if they are out of energy, but this typically is
similar to when other energy users start drawing on their vital
life force, in which they shorten their lives or even die if
their life forces are reduced to absolute zero.
- All spirit energy is generated by a certain part of the soul,
known as the soul chain. This is a part of the soul that
generates spiritual energy, and interacts with the body. If
enough damage is done to this part of the soul, the user will
not be able to generate soul energy temporarily or permanently
depending on how bad the damage is done. This means that this
part of the soul is something that every spirit user must
protect with their lives or they could risk being made to lose
their power completely. To destroy the soul chain permanently is
difficult, but with enough power and energy, it can be done.
This means that this is typically the greatest weakness in most
spirit users, and they must make sure that opponents do not do
too much damage to this part of the soul lest they lose their
ability to generate spirit energy. If permanently severed, there
is typically no recovery, with the only known cases of spirit
energy recovery being one having hidden spirit power that they
have yet to unlock in which unlocking can restore the spirit
chain, however no amount of soul healing or spirit fixing up can
heal the spirit chain once it is permanently severed. Typically
almost all races have only one spirit chain, and it is almost
unheard of for anyone to have two and impossible to have more
than two.
- Just like all energy users, spirit energy can only be used if
there is spirit energy to draw from. Once a user runs out, their
spirit energy abilities will not be usable. And as stated,
trying to use them after running out of spirit energy can be
very distrastrous. Typically, spirit energy is counterable like
other energies, with other energies like chi and mana being able
to counter like normal. Of course, as one might expect, aura
breaker weapons are also able to dispel spirit energy like any
other energy, making aura breaker weapons another useful counter
against spirit users.
- Unlike other energy types, spirit energy users are limited to
how much power they can output by the size of their body.
Smaller opponents are not able to put out more spirit energy at
once than someone who is much larger, for better or worse. While
this doesn't make those with bigger bodies tougher, it does mean
that those with smaller bodies tend to not being able put out as
much energy quite as quickly as they can. This also means that
larger bodies are also able to generate more spirit energy than
those of smaller statures. This means that larger creatures like
dragons, and even orcs are able to generate much more than most
creatures. Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, as
there are strong people of smaller statures with highly enhanced
auras. The question usually becomes a question of if the smaller
people can fight smarter to take out the larger people.
Personality: Kitsune tends to be a very calm and collected
person. He seems prideful, and doesn't seem to take much very
seriously, but is the type of person that is always thinking and
calculating. He is someone who usually follows the rules, but
sometimes will bend the rules if it suits him. For the most
part, he's not a very welcome person in a lot of circles due to
his PI job, and the fact that he's investigated a lot of the
people he's hung out with. In battle, Kitsune is a schemer, and
will often strategize his way through battles, using his
intelligence to overcome obstacles as well as using his unique
abilities. His abilities of both light and dark are a source of
pride for him, as he's proud to be a rare breed of death wraith.
Bio: In Kitsune's universe, Kitsune was a death wraith who
worked as second in command of Drakath's soul collection team,
similar to other universes. However, in this universe, it wasn't
Drakath who rebelled against the Death Wraith order. After
Kierran Black's father was cast out for preaching that the death
wraiths needed to evolve to survive, Kierran and Anna started to
hate the death wraiths for turning against Kierran's father, who
was well respected by Kierran and Anna. However, after Anna and
Kierran were ambushed and Anna's unique mutation of primordial
power and power creation abilities awakened, there was talk of
her being executed or exiled. This led to even more anger from
Kierran and Anna who were not wanting to wait to see something
bad happen to Anna simply because she had unique abilities.
Instead of letting Anna go to trial, Kierran and Anna decided on
another course of action, where Kierran and Anna rebelled
against the death wraiths. During the course of this, they
gained support from some of the Seiji and werewolves who
supported their cause, and Kierran and Anna used their rebellion
to attempt to evolve the death wraiths, and almost succeeded in
taking over the Death Wraith order before Kierran's and Anna's
team fought against Drakath and Kitsune's team, in a massive
battle. Kitsune and Anna fight each other, both being mutated
death wraiths with unique abilities, while Drakath and Kierran
fought each other while they had similar views of the death
wraiths needing to evolve. However, after seeing how Kierran was
killing people to protect Anna from prosecution from the death
wraiths, Drakath hoped to seek a peaceful solution rather than
rebel like in other universes.
During the fight, Kitsune barely managed to beat Anna, while
Drakath was killed by Kierran. After Drakath died, Kitsune was
lucky to be saved by allies he had made in the living world, and
was taken to the living world. Kierran's revolution eventually
ended with him and Anna taking over the Death Wraith order.
Thanks to a werewolf king named Constantin who allied with
Kitsune and Drakath, Kitsune tried to form a counter resistance
to take out Kierran and Anna who had used the death wraiths to
hunt down Kitsune, who was the new leader of his team after
Drakath's death. Kitsune fought Kierran and Anna in a brutal war
for years before Kitsune and Constantin finally managed to
overcome Kierran and Anna and free the death wraiths from them.
During the trial though, things went wrong when Alathen Kazara
broke Kierran and Anna from prison, with Anna's soul having been
placed in a demon armor as punishment for her hand in Kierran's
rebellion. Kierran, having had his soul removed to be placed in
a prisoned demon armor, had his soul placed in Alathen's
brother, Aeron Kazara's body after Aeron had been killed during
Kierran's rebellion. Aeron's body was brought back using Seiji
dark magic, and used as a vessel for Kierran as he tried to use
his allies in the Seiji and werewolf orders to try and take over
again. It took a long time, but Kitsune managed to finally beat
Kierran and Anna again in a war that took place in the human
world where Kitsune's group fought against Kierran and Anna
after Kierran was not allowed to return to the Death Wraith
order. Eventually though, Kierran and Anna were finally killed
by Kitsune and his allies, and their souls were taken by
Toranoraos directly so they wouldn't be a problem any longer.
During this time afterward, Kitsune was seen as dangerous due to
being a rare mutation that could use light, so afterward he
chose exile in order to ease the death wraiths once they decided
to rebuild after Kierran and Anna were finally killed. Despite
the fact that Toranoraos wanted him to lead the death wraiths,
Kitsune chose to leave since he didn't want to be a leader that
wouldn't be supported due to him being a rare mutation of death
wraith. However, during a mission with the Crow Mercenaries
during his time in exile, Kitsune met the Exiles universe
Kierran, and the two almost killed each other before they
realized that their histories were different. Once they realized
they were allies, Kitsune helped the group chase Laughing Coffin
members out of the universe, but not before the group killed
Kitsune's friends allied with Constantin, including killing
Constantin.
Kitsune decided to leave with Kierran for the Exiles universe,
deciding to rebuild after he went to the Exiles universe. In an
effort to live a life away from being considered a threat by the
death wraiths, Kitsune started a PI organizations called Shadow
Realm Investigations in the Exiles universe. Ever since, he's
had pretty good relations with the Crow Mercenaries, and became
good friends with the Crow Mercenaries version of Kierran Black,
as well as sometimes working with the Exiles and even some other
groups like the Sabbat when situations require it. Kitsune
continues to do his own think, being a pretty neutral person in
the battles going on and mostly became a PI as a way to pass the
time and keep himself busy.
