Hei, Takahashi, and Drake were all careful, not sure what the
magic was, but being careful. Since Takahashi had powerful magic
ability, he tries to read the magic that was used to find out
what it would do.
Hei: Perhaps. We'll have to see. At the very least... I know
you'll make a good trump card. He says as he pulls his blade out
after giving the killing blow.
When Cress dies, she would only be dead for less than a minute
before the castle's curse would resurrect her again. She'd still
be herself, but with loyalty to Castle Darkfire and to Hei.

It was still unclear what exactly the magic was, but from the
reading Takahashi would learn a few important bits of
information. One that it was demonic in origin and secondly that
it was a very ancient magic. It didn’t seem harmful for now and
almost seemed dormant.
When the curse had finally settled over her form and taken hold,
there was a brief glimmer of divine and demonic energy as her
injuries began to knit back together. She took a few slow
breaths before her eyes finally slipped open settling on a hazy
red color with speckles of warm brown. She slowly pushes herself
up without a word.

Hei: Welcome back. He says as Cress comes back to life. Now
then... Let's get straight to it. You're going to need my power
to hide your corruption. He says as he gets ready to use his
power to enhance Cress's soul with his Terror Quincy abilities.
This might hurt a little, but it will make you stronger. And
should allow you the ability to hide the power I give you.
Takahashi decides to see how his holy magic reacts to the magic
placed in him subtly, hoping to at least figure out what the
magic was intended to do before telling Hei about it.

Cress merely collects herself and her balance. She kinda nods
towards Hei preparing herself for the invasion of his abilities
on her person especially against her freshly healed wounds.
Cress: Do your worst.
Of course the magic didn’t react completely pleasant to his Holy
abilities, but it didn’t react violently or aggressively to it
either like most demonic magic does. His actual use of magic
almost feels heavy like eyelids when you haven’t slept in days
kind of heavy, but otherwise it felt normal.

Hei: Very well... He touches her forehead with his index finger,
and burns a mark of his quincy power into her soul, which would
grant her new power and access to the Terror Quincy abilities.
Takahashi: Hei... Before Cress died... She put some kind of
magic on us. I don't know what it is.
Hei: Well... Cress is on our side now. So we just have her tell
us what the magic does and if need be, remove it. He says
simply.

She pulled a face with a slight wince as the new settled powers
found their way into her souls. She allowed the abilities to
meld with her own natural born powers before she straightened
herself up. Cress: I may be compelled to fight for you and
serve you, but nothing in me makes me want to tell you what
magic I’ve cast. She turns and pokes Takahashi’s chest
emphasizing the point she’s about to make. Drake would see that
her fighting spirit existed out of combat too. Cress: You lied
to me and you tricked me and liars don’t get access to knowledge
like what I have. Rest assured though that it will wear off
soon. It’s no curse for sure, but it’s not any completely
harmless spell either.

Hei: Too bad it's not a curse... Then it would have made me
stronger. He says with a sigh. Not many were familiar with his
ability to absorb curses and grow stronger from them that he
gained from the Dimension of Terror when he was revived.
Takahashi just looks down to her as she talks (looking down
since he was taller than her. Takahashi: And I got killed by
Zack (Kindron's son) when he lured me and Aunt Alice (Hei's
wife) here similar to what he did to you. I wouldn't even be
working for Hei otherwise, you know. You're not the only one Hei
has deceived and led to their deaths. He's been killing and
recruiting for months. If you're this disobedient now, then
maybe Hei should just kill you now so you don't threaten our
plans. He says, his eyes shining red now that he didn't have
keep them suppressed. His personality was also a bit more cold
than it normally would be since he was usually the calm and
collected one. Takahashi was also a pretty strong-willed person
as well, so he had his own fighting spirit.
(Honestly I forget how much you know about the Darkfires in
Apocalypse since those like Zack and Alice aren't mentioned
much.)

Cress: Maybe next time Hei. She looks up at Takahashi staring
him right in the eyes, her own burning with a challenge. She
just smiles at him for a moment though it’s very cold and off
putting. It would make a lesser man shiver in fear. Just be
glad it was only a little jinx to keep you from using an of your
funny little powers on me. It should wear off within the hour.
As for obedience well She slightly chuckles as she speaks. I’m
very loyal and obedient when I want or need to be. I don’t play
dumb. Right now you’re just the puppet Hei manipulated into
bringing me here, and Hei is the one that pulls the strings. Hei
is the one I owe any obedience to.

Takahashi: And now you're a puppet of his as well, just as I am,
even though we would rather not be here. So you'll probably be
doing exactly the same thing I had to do. You'll be killing
friends and family in order to add more people to Hei's forces.
So enjoy that hypocrisy when it comes. He says coldly.
Hei just sighs a bit. Hei: That's enough. Both of you... I don't
want us fighting each other. We're going to plan an attack on
the Lich Queen once I've gotten strong enough forces to counter
her heavy hitters... If we don't stop her, she'll turn this
world into her own undead backyard like she has so many other
worlds. Unlike me, her goal is actually destroying all life in
this world though the most terrifying ways possible.

Cress mostly backed off when Hei told them to excluding one
final bitting remark. Cress: Well luckily for me I have no
useful living family. My sister isn’t the type. She completely
backs away from him and goes to lean against the table that the
student was strapped to Besides he’s right, i’d much rather
curse my family then let them be killed by that stupid woman.
