Takahashi avoids the guns as well. Thankfully, his regeneration
was quick and effective so it covered most of the damage
slightly more quickly. As they make their way down the hall,
reploids start coming out to face them, which were robotic
beings that were designed as supernatural hunters. Since they
were in the scientist, Gate's, labs, they would likely find this
was more of a tech area than a demonic area.

Cress: You know Takahashi, if I didn’t trust you like I do, i’d
be convinced right about now that you’re trying to get me
killed. Her energy level seemed to be dipping drastically with
possibly only adrenaline keeping her going. It wasn’t very often
that she used this much of her magical output back to back.
Cress didn’t seem to focus on herself though as she sends a bolt
of crackling arcane energy towards the reploids with enough
force behind it to knock a very solid man on his behind.

Takahashi: Honestly... I thought this would be a bit easier... I
didn't think they'd flock to us so easily. Perhaps I should have
brought more people with us. He says as he fights through the
reploids. The reploids were not the strongest of Gate's
reploids, so they were dispatched with a little effort. We're
just lucky none of the important people here have noticed us
yet. It seems my plan to keep us beneath the high level people's
notice is working at least.

Cress: The Darkfires did this when I spent a short time training
with them as a kid. They would wear me down attack after attack
and enemy after enemy until I’d collapse. If Hei knew I was here
then I could understand this. She continues to push forward up
towards where she thinks she’s going to save someone easily
dodging and fighting through enemies in her way.

Takahashi: Makes sense... My father trained me the same way to
strengthen my regeneration. He'd wear me down and push my
regeneration to it's limits. He says as they fight their way
into the labs. I honestly didn't think it would be this deep
into the castle... The lab was supposed to be easily accessed,
but the layout must have changed. I still don't know the pattern
for the changing layout.

Cress: It’s definitely a more formidable form of training to be
put through. You’d think the man could change his tricks by now
though. You know try a new tactic he didn’t build me for so to
speak. She stumbles into the labs once she barrels through the
last enemy in her paths with a heaving breath.

It took every ounce of not wanting to spoil the trap to keep
Takahashi silent about the "change of tactics" that he had gone
through with Hei.
Takahashi: That tactic is used by many of the Darkfires. It's an
effective way of training our regeneration. As the old saying
goes, "Don't fix what isn't broken." He says as they enter a
part of the lab where the student was. In one of the labs,
guarded by reploids, was the student, who was pinned to what
looked like an operating table. As they reach the lab, Takahashi
points it out. Takahashi: That's her right there. He says
calmly.

Cressida: It may not be broke, but people didn’t get where we
are now by stopping at adequate. She pulls out the blade of
Delilah once more allowing the blade to catch the light as it
came to it’s resting spot in her hand. The glint of it would
hopefully catch the attention of some of the reploids and draw
them away from the student.

Takahashi: Perhaps. The reploids look over and notice them, as
they form energy swords to go and attack Cress and Takahashi.

Cressida begins to push in towards the table holding the student
slicing through reploids in her pathway. She has partially
pushed out the divine energy that her body holds to use it
almost like a shield to protect herself and Takahashi too when
he falls within its range.
