Kindron awoke from what he thought was his death.
Kindron had no idea how he got where he was now, which was
riding a bus in a city completely unfamiliar to him.
The last thing Kindron remembered was being at a movie theater
investigating unusual activity with other supernatural hunters.
As of late, there were reports of many kinds of unusual
happenings around the world and strange cases of people going
       insane with no known causes.
Kindron had hunted vampires, werewolves, and a number of strange
       creatures over the years.
But he was not prepared for what he saw. It was like reality
itself cr*cked in the movie theater. Pieces of it started
falling into a black void. Like the dimension itself was
breaking open to consume the world around them.
And as the floor started cracking and falling into that black
void, everyone had started running in fear.
Kindron and his friends were no different, as they had no way to
combat what was happening. This wasn't the result of some
supernatural creature. This was like reality itself was falling
apart, and they couldn't figure out what to do as they ran.
However, the moment that sealed Kindron's fate was the moment
one of his friends was about to fall into the void. Kindron saw
the floor crack underneath her as she screamed.
But Kindron reacted quickly. He grabbed her and then threw her
to his other friends so she'd be safe.
Kindron though... He wasn't so lucky. He sacrificed his footing
to catch her, and fell into the black void.
Kindron didn't know what had happened after he feel into the
black void. But he awoke on a bus. There were people around him,
and they all seemed like they were in a trance. He looked
around, and then back at himself. He realized he still had his
rifle and shotgun, so he was ready to defend himself if need be.
But the world around him was wrong. The people didn't care about
him being there with guns. It was like they were just mindlessly
       going about their day.
On top of that, Kindron noticed the sky and the light around him
seemed wrong too. The sky was an orange-ish hue, almost like it
was sunset even though it wasn't. But Kindron realized there was
no blue light anywhere around him, as though the color blue was
sucked out of the world. There was no purple, no green. There
was only hues of red, yellow and orange. And to an extent,
white, gray and black. There was golden light all around as the
sun seemed to shine, but there was an eerie feeling to the world
like the world around him was unnatural.
Kindron looked out the window and noticed that those who were
avoiding the light were not as mindlessly entranced as the ones
       on the bus around him.
Kindron pulled the lever above him to call for a stop so he
could get off the bus. And as the bus stopped, Kindron got off.
As he gets off, he realizes he is at a train station.
Inside, he sees some strange sights of people trying to avoid
the light. One he noticed was someone open up a train locker and
climb inside of it with some food. The person closes it and
       locks themself inside.
Kindron saw people with umbrellas trying to shield themselves
from the light, and the people with the most success seemed more
normal than the others. There were a few that seemed to not be
in a trance, but most of the people were at some level almost
pacified by something as everyone seemed to be at different
levels of being pacified into a trance like the people Kindron
       saw on the bus.
One of the few that seemed normal looks over to Kindron.
Man: You must be new to this world. He says to Kindron, hiding
       under an awning.
Kindron: What is this? Where am I? He asks the man.
Man: No one knows. He says simply. But if you want to survive,
you should find a place to hide. Avoid the light. He explains.
Kindron: I have to get back home. I can't afford to stay here.
       The man chuckles.
Man: No one escapes this place. We can't go anywhere. All we can
do is hide and pray "they" don't find us.
       Kindron motions to his weapons.
Kindron: I'm prepared to fight. Don't worry. He says simply.
Man: Everyone says that at first... He says almost sadly.
Kindron looks out at the light. There was a strange calmness to
this world. It was completely eery, as Kindron could barely feel
anything from the world around him.
Though Kindron was human, he had a strange sense from years of
supernatural hunting. He could sort of sense the world around
him. But right now, he could barely feel anything. The only
thing he could feel was the light around him. It was almost
calming, but Kindron had a feeling that the light wasn't as
peaceful as he could feel. Kindron could only wonder how much
light he'd been exposed to, and how much it would affect him.
Kindron starts to plan his next move as he makes sure his two
guns were ready. Kindron wielded two guns. The first was a pump
action shotgun that he used for close encounters with
supernaturals. The other was a lever action rifle with a scope
that he used at mid to long range.
Kindron cleans his guns while he found a place inside the
building to sit down out of the view of the windows. Kindron
knew he might have to fight, and he was gonna be prepared.
As the day went on, the light didn't change at all. No matter
where the sun was, the same amount of light kept lighting up the
world outside. Kindron quickly realized that there were a few
things strange about this world, and how some things didn't seem
to follow the laws of physics, such as some shadows being at the
wrong angle, or some things moving that shouldn't have been
       moving.
Kindron realized the sun was going down, but the light wasn't
getting dimmer. The only thing different was that the light was
       getting a more orangish hue.
However, the moment the sun disappeared behind the horizon,
       everything changed...
The light stops shining, and the sky instantly goes pitch black.
But the weirdest part... Was that the blue light had returned.
And when it did, everyone went into panic mode. All that calming
effect of the light was gone. When it went dark, everyone jumped
out of their trance and started running or hiding.
Kindron took out his rifle, ready. He had a feeling that
whatever the man was trying to warn him about was starting.
And that was when Kindron started seeing them. Out of blue
light, there were creatures coming out of it. The looked like
tall Roswell gray aliens but these were light blue with some
kind of black skin-tight suit on, and had some kind of
bioluminescence coming off their skin. And alongside them were
canine-like light blue four legged creatures that were chasing
       people down.
Kindron reacted quickly. He started shooting the alien-like
creatures as he used his rifle to shoot down the creatures who
were attacking people. The creatures seemed to just be killing
people. The men seemed to grab people and snap their necks,
while the canine creatures seemed to rip people apart. But
Kindron kept shooting, and occasionally reloading when
       necessary.
However, the creatures easily outnumbered Kindron and Kindron
realized it pretty quick. No one else was fighting, and they
       were just running.
Kindron was about to retreat to see if he could find some help
fighting the creatures. That is... until the creatures just
disappeared in bursts of blue light.
Kindron noticed the skies were still black and clouds were
completely covering the sky. However, there was no moisture in
the air, and no electricity in what appeared to be storm clouds.
The sky looked like it should be storming, but the clouds didn't
drop any rain, and there wasn't even any humidity in the air.
Kindron could always tell by the smell when it was going to
rain, and he didn't smell anything that indicated it was raining
       or about to rain.
But as the creatures disappeared, Kindron seemed to be put at
       ease for a moment.
Kindron: Well that wasn't so bad... He says to himself as he
puts his gun back in its holster on his back.
However, what he saw next caused him to stop in horror.
Kindron saw blue light shine down from the clouds. But the light
       wasn't the problem.
Giant jellyfish creatures started descending from the blue
light. And the moment they got close to the ground, they started
grabbing people who were running. These creatures were the size
of buildings, and they had the same light blue bioluminescence
       the other creatures had.
Kindron stopped in horror looking at the creatures coming down
and taking people. The alien creatures before seemed to just be
killing, but these jellyfish creatures were grabbing people, and
then ascending back into the sky when they had grabbed the
people they wanted with their tentacles.
Kindron: Oh god... He says to himself, realizing what the man
meant by "they" finding them. Kindron didn't know what was
happening now, or what these jellyfish creatures wanted, but he
       wasn't about to find out.
Kindron took his rifle out and shot one nearby as he backed
behind a corner of a building.
However, the shots did absolutely nothing to the creatures, who
didn't even flinch or even care that Kindron was shooting them.
The creatures just continued their work, and even more started
coming down as some started ascending with all the people they
       grabbed.
Kindron, who was more scared than he'd ever been, started
       running with everyone else.
Kindron realized he couldn't fight this on his own.
As he runs, he notices blue light coming down from certain
spots, as more jellyfish creatures come down.
Kindron weaves and dodges, abandoning his mission to help people
as he just runs for his life. He doesn't stop as people get
       carried off around him.
Normally, Kindron would feel bad seeing others suffer around
him. But Kindron felt fear like he had never felt before.
Kindron did notice a few things though. First, the jellyfish
seemed to be targeting specific people. And if they hid in a
building, the jellyfish seemed able to just break the building
open with their tentacles until they grabbed the person they
wanted. It was as though nothing was able to hide from them. It
was almost like the jellyfish came down specifically where they
wanted in order to grab people they wanted, and they knew
exactly where everyone was around them.
Kindron sees blue light coming down right next to him and dives
into the bushes next to him, hoping to God that the tentacles
didn't try to grab him. He had a knife on him, but he had no
idea if a knife or sword would even cut these creatures.
As he hid, a man jumped down into the bushes next to him.
Kindron and the man tried to stay silent, and held their breath
as a giant jellyfish came down next to them. Kindron could see
       tentacles from outside the bush.
Deep down, Kindron knew the bushes weren't enough to hide him if
the creature wanted him, but he was desperate to try anything.
However, the man next to him starts screaming and trying to grab
Kindron for help as one of the creatures bright blue tentacles
wraps around him. The man screams for help from Kindron, but
Kindron just closes his eyes and stays silent as the man is
       pulled into the air.
There were tears in Kindron's eyes, as he hated abandoning
someone. This was unlike any situation he'd ever been in, and he
had never felt so helpless before.
Kindron just layed on the ground in the bushes, unable to figure
       out what to do next.
But thankfully, the jellyfish stopped coming down after a little
while, and the alien creatures seemed to no longer be coming.
Kindron looked around, seeing no one. He went into a house, and
sat in the corner, curling up in a ball. He knew he couldn't
hide, but he still tried to hide in the corner of the room
       behind a bookshelf.
Kindron couldn't believe how cowardly he was being. He had
fought dangerous creatures before. He always came out on top.
And if he didn't, he usually managed to at least avoid being
       killed.
But for the first time since arriving, Kindron began to wonder
if he was stuck here now, and destined to one night be grabbed
by those jellyfish. Kindron didn't know where the jellyfish had
taken the people they grabbed, and Kindron didn't want to know.
As the night continued, no more jellyfishes seemed to come down.
At least, not from what Kindron could see. And the alien
creatures seemed to not be invading anymore either.
Kindron took this opportunity to investigate the house he was
in. And what he saw shocked him.
He saw a room strings that had been strung up from wall to wall,
and pictures hung up on those strings.
But it wasn't the fact there were pictures that surprised him.
It was the fact the pictures were moving.
And some seemed to be labeled. Some were labelled as mirrors,
others as doorways. But each of them seemed to have things going
       on in the background.
Kindron looks at each one until he sees one of his friends in
one of them. He tries to reach for them, forgetting it was a
picture. He saw his friend Frank, a fellow hunter.
And as Kindron reached, Frank seemed to reach for him as well.
They both had their hands almost touching. But Kindron realized
it didn't feel like a picture, but more like he was trying to
push his hand through very thick water.
Kindron: Can you see me? He says desperately to Frank.
Frank: What the heck is this? How is this happening?! He says
       desperately.
Kindron: I don't know... I have no idea what's happening. He
       says.
Frank: We thought you were dead.
Kindron: I'm starting to worry I will be soon if I don't figure
a way back home. He says softly.
Frank: What's happening? Why are you appearing in my mirror? He
       says to Kindron.
Kindron noticed the picture of Frank was labeled "mirror."
Kindron: These pictures... They must be doorways! Maybe I can
get home from here! He says as he starts trying to figure out
       the pictures.
Frank: Doorways? Doorways to where? He says to Kindron.
Kindron: You don't want to know... This world... It's all wrong.
I thought I was in the normal world, but I think I'm in some
kind of parallel dimension or something. He explains. I need
help. I need a way out of here! He says desperately.
Frank: We'll find a way to get you back here. I promise. He says
       to him.
And then, out of nowhere, Kindron has a thought.
Kindron: I wonder... Could this be related to the craziness
cases? Could they be being affected by this place? If pictures
here are a doorway to our world, could the doorways be affecting
       our world?
Frank: It would make sense... It might also explain where those
blue alien creatures are coming from.
Kindron: Alien creatures? He says, freezing. If these creatures
were invading his world, would he even be able to escape them if
       he went back?
Frank: Yeah. They're new creatures. Aliens with dogs that seem
to be attacking people. And they aren't capturing them or
infecting them. They're just outright killing anyone they can.
Kindron stops. Kindron: Just like here... They came out when
       night hit.
       Frank: Really? These things-
Kindron didn't hear what Frank was going to say. In fact, he
didn't even remember if he finished the conversation.
Kindron realized he woke up again. But this time, he was in a
room he didn't recognize, but one that was definitely his room
because his guns were on a shelf, and there were pictures of him
and his friends there. The sun was beating in, and Kindron
realized he needed to get out of the light as he tried to shut
the blinds and hide in his bathroom where there was no window.
Kindron realized it was a new day. He had gotten a brief look,
and it looked like the sun was coming up. He also noticed from
his brief look that the people were in a trance again, and a new
slew of people didn't seem to have been consumed by the light
       yet
But Kindron started to wonder... Had the night really only
lasted a few hours? Or had his memory been scrubbed or something
of the night before? He remembered the bus, the train station
and even the jellyfish creatures attacking. He even remembered
the conversation with Frank, but he didn't remember anything
beyond talking about the alien creatures now appearing in their
       world.
Kindron curls up in the bathroom, not sure what to do next. He
knew that the night was coming again at some point.
And he started to wonder... Would he be taken by those jellyfish
creatures tonight when they came down next time?
He realized his only chance for survival was taking cover...
Taking cover where the light wouldn't reach.
       End.
