"If you're going to go crazy, could you do it after I've
finished my drink?"
"I'm not drunk enough for this sh*t..." - Vanessa when an
incident broke out at the bar she was at.
"I'm not a killer. I hold all life precious, even if you're a
complete jacka*s."
"I'll electrocute your ass if you don't stop running your mouth
off."
"I'm too much woman for you to handle."
"Say hi to my baby, Ladeca. She says as she points her rifle.
She's gonna shoot you now."
"Guns and booze. The two greatest joys in life for me."
"Ever been kicked in the nuts with electricity? I promise it
will hurt. A lot."
"Sometimes, you don't know who your actions will inspire. So
make your actions good ones."
"Deep fried villains... My favorite." - Vanessa joking after
killing an enemy with her spirit lightning
"I love guns. Rifles especially. That moment when you aim for
your target, time slows down. And then you fire the gun and
appreciate your handiwork."
"They call me the Sheriff... Mostly because I enforce the rules.
It's a joking title, so don't worry. I'm not here to bust your
balls or anything."
"Rules are rules, kid. Everyone's gotta follow them. If we
don't, we become savages." - Vanessa disciplining someone who
broke the rules.
"Listen, kid. If you want to fight, don't try so hard to
intimidate people. It just makes you come off as trying too
hard, and makes you look more pathetic."
"You only become a monster when you stop caring about people.
That's the point when you spiral downward into the darkness."
"I never claimed to be a hero. I fought only to protect my
friends. I could care less whether my actions are right or
wrong. And I help people simply because I'm not a heartless
b*tch."
"It doesn't matter the weapon you use. Anything can be a good
weapon if you master your combat. Guns, swords, knives, all that
stuff. Let's just say, if you're good enough, you could make
anything an effective weapon. It just takes training and
finesse. People don't just start using guns and knives and stuff
effectively in combat without some kind of practice. So don't
get down if someone tells you your weapon ain't enough to get
the job done... She smiles and holds her rifle up. My baby has
proven a lot of people wrong about guns requiring no skill.
"Taran Faelan was a guy that meant well. But after he was
corrupted by his death, it turned him into something he was
never supposed to be. He became a corrupted vengeful spirit, and
his wolf spirit familiar became a corrupted spirit. I couldn't
save Taran. With his last breath, he asked me to look after his
companion. And I did so. I named the wolf spirit Cairn. A Celtic
name symbolizing memory. Because Taran will always stick out in
my mind as one of the people I could never save, and it's a
memory I will never forget. I can't afford to forget, because it
pushes me to be better so I can save as many as I can."
When Vanessa was talking with a friend.
Ally: You are a hero... You saved so many people. It's an
inspiration to all of us.
Vanessa looks down sadly.
Vanessa: Listen, kid... I don't care about how many people I
save. I don't keep a number handy or anything, because it's not
about bragging about the number of people you save. It's
remembering the ones you couldn't save. They are the ones that
hit you the hardest, and you will never forgive yourself for not
being good enough to save them. Even one person you couldn't
save is still too many people lost.
"Her specialty is spirit lightning. She's a powerful spirit
user, and her bond with her wolf spirit is quite strong. She's
also got quite a lot of experience."
"She has a weird obsession with guns. She'd never trade away her
favorite rifle, but she sure does enjoy messing with guns. I
don't know if she picked that up with her lone ranger vibe, or
if people get that vibe from her because of her obsession with
guns."
Cairn Quotes.
"Vanessa Zuille is my master. She carries both mine and my old
master's legacies."
"Put the d*mn guns down, Vanessa. You are obsessed with those
blasted things."
"Wolf god? I'm not worthy of such titles. I'm a wolf spirit and
a spirit of life. That's all." - Cairn when he found out people
called him a wolf deity.
When Vanessa was shooting down a group of robots from a distance
with a new rifle.
Vanessa: Come on, you robot morons! Laughs as she shoots them.
This new gun is amazing!
Cairn: Vanessa! We need to regroup with the others! Stop being a
gun maniac for a minute! He says from in Vanessa's mind.
Vanessa keeps laughing and shooting her rifle at the robots,
taking them down one by one.
Cairn sighs.
Cairn: Blast it! There's no talking to her when she's like
this... He says to himself.
"There's something... strange... about that wolf spirit. It's
powerful, more than it should be for just a standard wolf
spirit. I know it's partially because Vanessa takes such good
care of it, but it feels mystic in a way. And when it combinse
with Vanessa, it's almost like Vanessa becomes a demi-god
herself."
