Elseworlds Story: "The cat who strives"
       Prologue:
Prologue Theme: Rules of this World (
  HTML https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIBfb3Us9AE
       )
"The Black Knight of Calamity is a power that is said to bring
our world to ruin. Not even the demon lords of our world dare to
tangle with anyone given the Black Knight of Calamity title,
which is believed to be given by the God of Chaos. They're a
walking natural disaster. Only the god-chosen Hero can kill a
Black Knight of Calamity and bring peace to the land." - A
citizen about the Black Knight of Calamity.
This story takes place in another universe, and follows yet
another version of the Kindron Darkfire reincarnated from the
Vendetta Zuille timeline. At this point, you're all familiar
with a few of the versions that have been reincarnated, and how
it worked. And this story follows yet another variation born
from Kindron's split power, though this version is a little bit
different from the other versions in previous stories.
This version of Kindron Darkfire was reincarnated into a world
of magic and supernatural creatures, much like his other
counterparts who were reborn into different worlds. In this
world, the world is split into kingdoms, ruled by different
races. These races have a rocky history, and wars between races
have often left their races and countries in states of
devastation. These races all have unique skills, which they
strengthen by training and gaining titles when they accomplish
major feats. But we'll get to those unique skills in a bit.
First, we must talk about titles. In this world, titles are
special blessings bestowed by the gods upon mortals. Titles
often grant unique abilities and can be granted to any race
depending on the title, making them highly sought after by other
races to become stronger. These titles are separate from the
unique skills of every race, and are something that can be
bestowed on anyone, even monsters (In fact, monsters have their
own way of gaining tites to grow stronger). It is always
different for every person who gains a title, and there is no
one way to be granted a title from the gods. There are all kinds
of titles, from farmers to kings to even demi-gods (Mortals
granted partial godhood, a rare feat but often a reward for
impossible feats or for those who gain the favor of the gods).
And it is not just the good gods that grant titles, but the
demon gods and the God of Chaos can also grant titles, with or
without it being known why the person is being granted a title.
Sometimes, gods reward (Giving a good title) or curse (Giving a
bad title) someone for their deeds. Sometimes, gods have a
mission for someone to accomplish and grant them a title to help
them with that mission. Sometimes, someone can gain it through
prayer if they gain favor with the gods. Sometimes, gods just do
it for fun (yes, some actually just do it for their own
entertainment). Almost anyone can get a title, and titles can be
almost anything, good or bad. Once given, titles grant passive
powerups if given a good title, or they grant detriments (such
as curses) to those who are given bad titles. It is also worth
noting that many titles often come with new abilities depending
on the title. For example, someone granted a title of King might
gain special abilities related to ruling, such as gaining a
skill called Elegance (which increases their charm and
charisma), or may gain other skills (Such as one person who
gained a skill that let him easily lie to people and make them
believe their lies). Sometimes the person has complete control
over the title and can make the title stronger in some way
through certain requirements granted by the gods, or some may
not be able to interact with the title at all (these people are
granted a title that doesn't grow stronger, and is just there as
a status symbol). There are ways to make one's title stronger
usually, whether it's through training their titles, having to
accomplish a certain achievement before they can level up their
title, or some even have to kill others with titles in order to
       level up their titles.
Now, here comes the fun part. Now, we get to break down every
race, their kingdom, and their own abilities. As mentioned
earlier, each race as their own set of skills, and their own
ways of strengthening those skills. Here, we will also get into
each kingdom and how they operate, as well as the main races
       abilities.
First, there's the human kingdom of Gale, which is ruled by
humans, and other races living among humans are often considered
lower-class citizens. Depending on where one is in Gale, the
prejudice is worse in some areas, such as in some areas where
slavery of other races is legal. In some other areas, prejudice
is not as bad and humans try to live peacefully among the other
races (this usually depends on the area and the human who runs
that area). When the great spirits of the world who were said to
set up the kingdoms, it was believed that humans were the
favorites among the spirits and were given the best, and the
most, land out of all the other lands (which are all named after
the original great spirits of the world). The kingdom is split
into territories, which are all ruled by human "lords" in a
feudal type system. However, every human lord reports to the
king of the kingdom, and must be loyal to the king. The King
allows each lord to rule as they see fit (within reason), and
this makes many territories in Gale vastly different from each
other depending on where one goes even though the kingdom is
under the rule of the king
The humans special abilities come from their special skill: And
that is blessings. Blessings are bestowed on humans (believed to
be given by the gods) and awaken at some point in their life.
Every human has a blessing of some kind, and most blessings are
unique (though there are some basic blessings that seem to show
up in multiple people and some that seem to be inherited in
families). These blessings are similar in nature to titles,
where they grant special abilities and passive skill upgrades
depending on the blessing. Humans have to learn to live by their
blessings, and their lives and status are dictated by how useful
those blessings are. For example, a person born with a Farmer
blessing to let them more easily grow crops determines that they
often become farmers, and are unlikely to become anything else
as the blessing will not only make farming their main skill, but
will also give them a desire to farm. A blessing can shape a
person, even altering their subconscious when they awaken their
blessing based on the blessing and its purpose in the person's
life. It is believed that these blessings were given by the
gods, and are their way of telling humans what their destiny is,
as well as equipping them for whatever destiny the gods give the
person. And as they gain stronger uses of their blessings, their
blessings may evolve and grant them new abilities as time goes
on. Each blessing is believed to be unique and people must
figure out how to level up their blessing through the lives they
live and the blessing they have. For example, someone with a
"Holy Priest" blessing may eventually level up their blesing
through doing good deeds and eventually gaining a higher
blessing such as "Holy Grand Priest." Every human has a
blessing, and lives their lives to try and power up their
blessings until they gain the highest level their blessing can
reach. It is believed that if a human levels up their blessing
enough, they could one day reach the blessing of "Demi-god" and
gain partial godhood in a way similar to how the title
       "Demi-god" works.
The other main kingdom is Volcanis, which is ruled by demons.
This kingdom is in a volcanic area, where the heat is too much
for most humans to handle. In this kingdom, the demon lords rule
parts of the kingdom while the demon king rules over the demon
lords. Demonkind is not barbaric like most would think, as
demons are not the evil conquerors they are in many universes.
In this kingdom, it works much like humans, and demons live
peacefully in their territory. Demon Kings are usually elected
by the masses of demon lords, with whoever having the respect of
the most demon lords usually being the one to rule. At times,
there are also families that rule, where children of a demon
king may be more likely to gain the throne of demon king. While
power is a thing to consider for them, the demon lords value the
ability to rule over just strength alone, and they value those
with restraint over their power. They make sure to choose people
who are not going to abuse their power, and they do not go to
war unless provoked. As such, demon lords with restraint are
more likely to be elected as demon king than those who just
oppress everyone around them. The Demon King is usually
surrounded by a council who advises the Demon King, and acts as
rulers of different territories. While similar to human rule,
this rule is not so much divided, but the Demon King is the one
who tells the demon lords how to rule their territories, and
there are far less demon lords than there are humans who act as
lord over territories. Unlike the humans, demons prefer to live
on their own, away from other races. While they tend to isolate
themselves from other races so that they don't get involved in
the politics of other kingdoms, they also often tend to treat
other races better than humans do, with some even offering homes
to certain races that humans wouldn't. In this kingdom, the
demon king makes the laws, and the demon lords carry them out.
This makes the kingdom more universal, in which every territory
follows the rules set forth by the demon king (unlike humankind
where the territories are ruled by a lord and each area has a
       number of different rules).
Demons are born with natural power that lets them utilize
demonic arts, a magic ability unique to demons. All demons are
born with this innate ability, and learn demon arts based on the
type of demon they are born as. There are a massive amount of
demon arts, from some that are taught by demons, to others that
may be unique depending on the demon and their powers. These
demon arts can be attack arts, but there are a number of passive
arts that grant unique skills (almost similar to blessings and
titles except demons train for specific skills rather than being
granted them). For example, fire demons have demonic fire arts
specific to their power, and those demon arts maximize their
demonic abilities. When it comes to growing stronger, demons
grow stronger by leveling up their demon arts and eventually
becoming powerful enough to gain new ranks of demon arts. As
they grow, they can gain stronger ranks through their strength
once they reach certain levels in their demon arts training. And
when they do level up their rank, their ranks gain a huge power
boost as a result. For example, a normal demon could become a
Greater Demon and gain a power boost if they are able to grow
stronger in demon arts to a certain level. Or a higher level
demon could become a Demon General and gain an even greater
power boost if they reach a high enough level. Because of this
aspect, demons seek these ranks as their main source of growing
stronger, since these ranks power boosts surpass their normal
power, and grant them access to stronger ranks of demon arts. It
is believed that the highest rank possible is "Demon God" which
is above Demon King, which is above the rank of Demon Lord.
However, no one is known to have this rank, other than ancient
demon legends like Anubis or Balor. However, it should be noted
that demons do not gain positions in their kingdom based on that
rank, and the rank is only to show their power (meaning their
rank doesn't equal their status in the kingdom). It is often
believed that ranks are the equivalent of titles in their
society, though this doesn't mean that demons cannot be granted
titles (as they can be granted titles by the gods, which also
       include demon gods).
Another kingdom is the kingdom of Gaia in the forests that house
the Elven kingdom. The elves are ruled by a council of elves
rather than by a king, all of which must be at least 500 years
old before being allowed to join the council. This is to ensure
only the wisest of the elves are able to join the council, and
that no one person gains enough power to turn the kingdom into a
dictatorship. Also, in order to join the council, a majority of
the council has to vote for the inclusion of the person, and
usually has to be acknowledged by the council for wisdom above
strength. Because of this, the council ends up being very
exclusive, and it becomes very difficult to get acknowledged
enough to join their ranks. Even though it's not intentional,
most never get the chance to join the council unless they have
the right connections, due to the fact that the council is so
exclusive and doesn't interact much with the common elf people.
However, the elves are usually very good about acknowledging
people they consider might make good rulers in the council, and
they value humble people over strong ones. For the most part,
the council is not as strong as rulers in some other kingdoms,
but the elves do usually have strong people guarding the
council, and the strongest elves are granted special positions
beside the council members once they essentially become the
council member's (or the council itself's) bodyguard. Only
people the council trusts are allowed to get close to the
council and it takes a lot to earn the trust of the elves. When
it comes to the kingdom, the council rules it and the kingdom
follows the laws of the council. The elves live in the forests,
and put up special protective barriers over their area to hide
it from outsides. Elves isolate from the rest of the world, on
the count of other races capturing and forcing elves to be
slaves to other races. There are many who like to use the elves'
abilities to not only use powerful magic, but also use spirit
arts. In the world, elf slaves are highly valued, and are
believed to be a sign of great status and of a person's far
       reach into the world.
When it comes to their skills, the elves are master archers, as
well as masters of magic. However, their unique skill that makes
them powerful is their own magic, the Spirit Arts. Combined with
their other magic and archery, this gives elves the ability to
grow stronger through a connection with nature. The elves are
able to call on spirits of the world (usually ones connected to
the elements), and they grow stronger in this by strengthening
their own spirit energy so that it can more easily harmonize
with the world around them. This strengthens not only their
spiritual connection, but allows them to call on stronger
spirits and gain stronger power through spirit arts. One of
their skillsets with magic and archery is the magic arrow arts,
which they use to guide their arrows and utilize special arrow
arts that are unique to their race and require special training
to use. Elves also have strong magic abilities, and usually
specialize in variations of elemental magic connected to
whatever element they have the strongest connection to, which is
always determined by what affinities they have with spirit arts.
Despite what one might think, elves in this world don't just
utilize earth and water magic, but all elemental varieties. This
usually depends on the elf, as there are many different types of
elves in this world beyond just normal elves and dark elves. For
example, there are volcano elves with fire and/or lightning
power or forge elves who have the power of blacksmithing using
fire and earth magic. Each subspecies of elf has their own
spirit arts, and they all grow stronger through stronger
connections to nature. There are a number of subraces of elves,
each looking unique and having unique skillsets in addition to
their arrow magic arts and elemental magic, usually connected to
whatever spirit arts their race has an affinity for. Those that
maximize their spirit arts often gain titles for their
abilities, or they may gain special blessings from spirits
(different from the blessings humans gain). For example, the
highest known title of spirit art mastery is known as "Elf Sage"
which is believed to be the highest possible magic mastery, even
though there is a rumored "God Sage" rank designated for elves
that reach the power of an elf god.
The next kingdom is the kingdom of Farin Sea, which is where
demi-humans live, a race of people that look human, but have
animalistic features such as animal like ears and tails. This
race is also known as Beastkin, which is the name they prefer as
many see the name demi-human as demeaning them. In this land,
demi-humans were rejected by elves, humans and demons alike.
Humans and elves see demi-humans as monsters or animals trying
to be human, and demons see demi-humans as imitations of
monsters trying to be human. Even monsters see demi-humans as
lesser creatures, believing demi-humans to be sad attempts at
being human or monster but never committing to any one side.
Because of this, demi-humans have mostly been rejected from most
of the world, due to the hatred and untrue stigmas around their
kind. No one knows exactly when or how demi-humans came to be,
but it is believed that they were once descended from human and
monster pairings. The demi-human kingdom is ruled by the one who
is granted the title of Beast King, which is given to the
demi-human voted into the position by the other demi-humans
(Making this a democratic system). The demi-humans vote on the
beast king, and the gods of the Beastkin respond by granting the
title to who would become king. Unlike other races, the
demi-humans actually try to accept all races and exist
peacefully with the other races, even though they are often
enslaved or treated poorly. In their kingdom, everyone is
treated equally, and status is only granted to those that prove
themselves through their deed rather than by status or
connections. The demi-humans don't disciminate (most of the
time), and have even been known to elect rulers that were human
or demon if the person proved themselves a worthy ruler and
someone who could be trusted. However, this trust does lead to
them being betrayed by other races, and some demi-humans have
lost trust in other races completely (with some even hunting and
killing other races who live in the kingdom).
When it comes to abilities, the demi-humans are blessed with raw
physical power and skills, where they manifest magic as physical
power and physical techniques rather than using normal magic
arts like other races. Their magic is known as Beast arts, which
are mostly physical combat based, using techniques such as
physical amplification, or concentration of physical strength.
These arts are often passed down in Beastkin culture, or taught
to other Beastkin. However, the main aspect of demi-humans that
make them strong is through is their ability to evolve. This is
a unique aspect of their race, where they are able to grow
stronger and eventually evolve into stronger Beastkin that
changes their appearance and makes them stronger as they reach
higher evolutions of whatever Beastkin race they are (though
this would be more of a metamorphosis than an evolution). For
example, a dog type could eventually involve into a wolf type
Beastkin, or a cat type could eventually evolve into a tiger or
lion type Beastkin. What they are born as determines their
evolution possibilities as each race has a set of possible
evolutions, and it is believed that those without evolutions
cannot grow stronger (meaning those that cannot evolve are
looked down upon as the weakest of the weak). Not all evolutions
are known, and there are ways of gaining new evolutions by
reaching certain criteria (not all of which involve raw physical
power, but may require special conditions). Not all of the
special conditions are known, and some lead to unknown
evolutions, but all Beastkin see some form of evolution to
maximize their potential, and only those that can evolve can
grow stronger, as those without evolutions eventually peak and
cannot get stronger once they reach the highest level of their
       evolution.
The last kingdom is the kingdom of Tempest, which is where the
nation of monsters makes their home. This place is not really a
kingdom, but more of a monster infested land where no one really
rules. Monsters are a unique kind of creature, which are born
from mana crystals that seemingly come to life and manifest as
monsters. Tempest is often a place where mindless monsters make
homes, but there are numbers of intelligent monsters that have
built settlements and dictate a social structure as well.
Tempest is not a kingdom in the traditional sense, but instead
is more like a mass of land that acts like a very large monster
infested area that other races have been unable to traverse
safely. Their command structure is not based on monarchies or
democracy, but setting up a chain of which monsters are
considered better than others through strength and the higher
levels of monsters. The monsters work together to a degree (even
though many often work alone as well), and only the strongest
monsters become the leaders (though they only lead small groups,
and there is no ruler over all monsters). Monsters are strong
creatures, believed to be creations of the God of Chaos, and are
hunted down and killed by every other race, including demons.
Despite what one might think, even demons hate monsters, and
consider themselves better than monsters (and the few times
monsters and demons have tried to ally, one has betrayed the
other and their alliances never lasted). Currently, the monsters
are believed to live more in dungeons than in any area of the
world, so Tempest is not the only place in the world with
monsters. There are different parts of Tempest where different
monsters live, such as swamps where swamp monsters like the
monster gators live, or caves in the mountains where cave
monsters like cave spiders dwell. There are entire ecologies of
monsters for every area of the kingdom, and different monsters
live in different parts of the kingdom.
For skills, monsters are born with the Curse skills that were
bestowed on them by the God of Chaos. These skills are their
main source of power along with their mana crystals that make up
the core of their being. Monster curse skills are designed for
two purposes. The first is to utilize magic skills unique to
them. There are monster only skills that are only used by
monsters, and every monster type has their own set of skills.
The only way for other races to gain skills of these monsters is
to take their mana crystal, and even then, most races cannot
utilize the mana crystals of monsters beyond using it as a power
source for technology. Monsters use specific skills which depend
on their race, and a monster's curse skills are able to grow
stronger as they kill other races or even kill other monsters.
Monsters are able to gain levels and grow stronger based on the
people they kill, or how strong they are able to get using their
skills. They are able to train their curse skills, and gain new
ones depending on circumstances. Depending on the monster, they
may gain special curse skills that can make them stronger and
evolve them into stronger monsters. For example, an undead
skeleton can eventually grow strong enough to become a lich, but
if they eat enough humans and drink special blood, they can
evolve into a vampire, the strongest form of undead. Unlike
other races, there is no limit to how strong monsters can
become, and no limit to how many curse skills they can gain.
Some have even learned to absorb the mana crystals of other
monsters and take their curse skills while killing the monster.
There are other ways as well to grow stronger, depending on the
monster and their skills. And as monsters gain things like
titles (Usually from the God of Chaos), they grow even stronger.
There are also some monsters that replicate the abilities of
other races, with the most known one being demon monsters who
possess not only curse skills, but monster equivalent of demon
       arts.
The second purpose of their curse skills is dungeon creation.
When a monster leaves Tempest, they instinctively seek a place
in the world where they can use their curse skills to set up a
dungeon, which becomes their domain where they can not only rule
the dungeon as the dungeon master and grow stronger over time,
but they gain a large mana crystal that is able to spawn new
monsters so that the dungeon can become filled with new
monsters. In these dungeons, monsters grow stronger by killing
anyone who come into their dungeon, in which the deaths of
others give the monsters more curse skills and power through the
large mana crystal. When killing other races including killing
other monsters, monsters gain not only new skills, but gain new
strength, possibly new titles (usually granted by the God of
Chaos), and even new evolutions. Because of this, monsters often
leave Tempest to seek out strength by killing others (usually by
creating dungeons to trap and kill people who come to destroy
their dungeons). However, there are some that stay in Tempest,
and evolve by either hunting other races or hunting other
monsters for food. But dungeons are usually unique to each
monster, and each dungeon has its own ecosystem and its own
monsters usually determined by its dungeon master (the one who
controls the mana crystal that acts as the dungeon's core).
Should the large mana crystal be destroyed by the death of the
dungeon master (or if the mana crystal itself is destroyed),
then the dungeon becomes inactive, and monsters are unable to
spawn for a certain period of time until either a new monster
inhabits the dungeon and creates a new large mana crystal, or
the mana crystal is able to become active again if it is not
destroyed. Some races have sought out dungeons and leave the
large mana crystal intact so that the dungeons can spawn new
monsters, as items are often found that seem to appear in
dungeons without explanation. Some also use defeated dungeons as
training grounds, letting monsters spawn so they can hunt or
study monsters. And if the large mana crystal is destroyed, most
large mana crystals leave behind a field of mana crystals in the
room that can be harvested and used by other races.
There are other races of creatures that don't fall into these
main races, such as dwarfs, giants, and a few other types of
creatures. These creatures often are considered outliers, and
are often free to live among other races as long as they are
loyal to whatever kingdom they end up living in. Some outlier
creatures offer their services to kingdoms, such as dwarfs
blacksmithing weapons, armors and shields for whatever kingdom
they become loyal to, or giants becoming laborers and/or knights
for a kingdom. For the most part, there are no kingdoms yet for
these kinds of creatures, and their loyalty mostly lies in
kingdoms that treat them well. Many live in demi-human
territory. Some of these races have special abilities of their
own, but don't have the abilities of the main races. Instead,
these races live on the titles granted to them, and use their
natural magic abilities in unique ways to compensate for not
having the same abilities as other races.
Some may wonder where hybrids fall into this world's races. What
happens if a human and a demon have a child, or a beastkin and a
demon, or even a monster and a human. These hybrids are born
with each of their heritages special skills (such as a
monster/human hybrid would be born with curse skills and a
blessing). However, these hybrids are seen as abominations by
every race, and almost every race outlaws relations with other
races, aside from a few like dwarfs, giants and certain other
races that aren't part of the main races. Because these hybrids
are usually able to grow stronger than a normal race could (for
example, demon arts combined with Beastkin evolution may make a
hybrid that could grow far stronger than either demons or other
Beastkin), hybrids are seen as being too powerful to control,
and seen as too powerful to follow the rules of other kingdoms.
Hybrids are not only forbidden, but hunted down and killed even
if the hybrid has yet to be born (Meaning parents can be hunted
down and killed before the hybrid is born). Almost all races
have the same view on hybrids, and there are few that actually
accept hybrids. Hybrids often have to stick together to survive,
even though there are not many. Most hybrids spend their lives
trying to find others like them, and most never make it to old
age due to the fact they're hunted down their whole lives. Most
that do live successful lives are the ones that find a way to
hide their dual natures, such as a demon/human hybrid might
suppress their demon arts and only use their blessing to live
       among humans as a "human."
And now we get to our main characters in this story.
In this world, Kindron was born as a human, and born with a
blessing just like other humans. Originally born as the noble,
Kaien Rain, Kindron gained his blessing at birth like so many
others. This world had no Darkfires, and no Hades (other than
ancient myths about demon gods), so Kindron was an oddity from
the day he was born given how strong his power of darkness was.
Some thought Kindron was a human/demon hybrid, but Kindron was
proven to be fully human (though he still had his demon power
from his old life). No one really knew that he was from another
world, or that he had the power of a demon god. Most just
thought that he was some kind of human born with evil power
resembling demon arts. Even though Kindron had demon abilities,
he did not have the demon arts that the demons of his world had
       (at least, not at first).
But the thing that separated him from others was his title and
blessing: The Black Knight of Calamity.
It has been said that this title is both a blessing title and a
cursed title, which is believed to be granted by the God of
Chaos. This title is also a blessing, and the only blessing that
can be granted to other races. This title is given to those who
will one day become harbingers of disaster, no matter what race
they are (someone of any race can be given the blessing/title
Black Knight of Calamity). It is believed that those that are
given this title are meant to become champions for the God of
Chaos, so that the God of Chaos can wreak havoc on the world. It
is believed the God of Chaos brings a Black Knight of Calamity
when the world is too divided, and is meant to force the races
to work together against a threat that would threaten to destroy
them all. Those with this title are instantly rejected by
humans, demons and all other races, due to the fact that most
see the Black Knight of Calamity as a walking natural disaster
who will bring ruin to everything they touch. It doesn't matter
whether the person is good or evil, and others always see the
Black Knight of Calamity as the most dangerous of threats to the
world. Even monsters and demons fear the Black Knight of
Calamity, because it is said that the Black Knight of Calamity
gains dominion over monsters and demons alike.
This title not only comes with an innate power of darkness, but
comes with a number of powers and skills that are believed to
have been created by the God of Chaos. The Black Knight of
Calamity is a very powerful being, and has immense power. Its
abilities are often labeled the "peak of destruction" due to the
skills being stronger than any other races skills.
The first ability that comes with this title/blessing is the
ability to gain any ability by consuming someone's essence by
using an ability called Essence of Darkness. For monsters, the
Black Knight needs only absorb their mana crystals that make up
their cores, and they are able to gain the essence of monsters,
as well as their curse skills. And the Black Knight gains the
ability to summon any monster they have absorbed the mana
crystal for as an ally. For humans, the Black Knight consumes
their life force to consume the essence of the human's blessings
to strengthen the Black Knight blessing and grants the Black
Knight new blessings, called Dark Blessings which grant new
abilities and strength depending on the blessing. For demons,
the Black Knight eats the heart of the demon, and gain all the
raw aura and demon arts the demon had to boost their auras and
ability to use those auras for different skills (which gives the
Black Knight the powers of demons). For Elves, the Black Knight
absorbs their magic and spirit power which boosts the Black
Knight's own magic power, magic and archery skills, but also
grants the Black Knight spirit art skills that call on spirits
of death. For demi-humans, the Black Knight eats their flesh,
gaining raw physical and mental skill based on the type of
demi-human the Black Knight eats, as well as gaining new beast
arts modified into darkness skills that replicate beast arts. It
is even possible for the Black Knight to evolve into a stronger
Black Knight with new attributes gained from all the power the
Black Knight has gained. This skill is extremely dangerous, and
allows the Black Knight to endlessly get stronger as long as
they consume others. Currently, the strongest Black Knight to
ever exist evolved his blessing into "Chaos Knight of Infinity"
which was believed to be highest known level of the blessing.
The Black Knight of Calamity also comes with some other unique
skills. The first is the Eyes of Darkness, which allows the
Black Knight to analyze others and see their blessings ,skills,
titles, and evolutions, as well as sense the levels of
opponents. The second is the Words of Darkness, where the Black
Knight is able to affect the world through their speech. For
example, the Black Knight could say "push" and force the air to
push away from him, or force people to kneel by simply saying
"kneel". All that is required is the user to have a clear image
in their head of what they want to happen, and a one word
command to utilize the skill (related to the action, such as
"kneel" making someone fall to their knees). The next skill is
Devourer of Darkness, where the Black Knight gets stronger when
absorbing dark energy, and can gain new skills when absorbing
dark energies that are unique. The last skill is Space of
Darkness, where the Black Knight can create their own shadow
dimension similar to their dark knight capes (more later) that
they can move back and forth from at no cost of power and can
use it to bend space and time to teleport around using their
shadow dimension as portals from one place to another
(teleporting around in battle, or they can just teleport to
other places). Another skill they possess is Casting of
Darkness, where they are able to multicast magic spells and
arts, even if they are not the same kind of skill or magic. And
the last skill is Mind of Darkness, which grants
resistance/immunity to most kinds of psychic attacks, poisons,
and status effects (Resistance to poison, but immunity to most
       status effects and psychic powers).
And if that wasn't enough to be completely busted already,
that's not the only skills and items that the Black Knight of
Calamity comes with. It gets even more outrageous from here on.
As one might imagine, the Black Knight of Calamity also gets
powerful dark knight abilities, including manifested armor and
weapons that are manifested from their Black Knight power.
The first armor piece is the Armor of Darkness, which is said to
be an almost impenetrable armor only able to be pierced by a
hero chosen by the gods. It is said that the armor is immune to
all types of skill attacks (No matter what race skill is used),
while also granting heavy resistance against physical attacks.
It is believed the only way to pierce this armor is with a holy
sword, or with the unique skill, Holy Strike, possessed by the
hero chosen by the gods. Next is the Helm of Darkness, which
induces fear into a person, and is believed to make the Black
Knight immune to all manner of psychic or mental based attacks.
It is said that even the toughest of enemies feel fear when
affected by the Helm of Darkness. It is believed that even those
without the ability to feel fear can still be affected by the
Helm's power. There is also the Gauntlets of Darkness which
cover the wrists and shins of the Black Knight that are said to
be strong enough to shatter any substance and parry any attack.
The Black Knight is able to parry attacks with just the
gauntlets they wear on their wrist or the gauntlets on their
shins, even if the weapon is a holy sword or the attack is
stronger than the Black Knight. The Boots of Darkness are said
to increase the speed of the Black Knight, and amplify their leg
strength considerably. It also comes with a unique skill called
Air Leap, which lets a Black Knight jump in the air infinitely.
It is believed that this skill allows a Black Knight to stay in
the air as long as they want by jumping on the air, and it is
said that kicks from the Black Knight are strong enough to split
a castle in two with ease. And last is the Cape of Darkness,
which has access to its own shadow dimension, where it can
absorb people, things, or even let the Black Knight teleport
around using the Shadow Dimension. This cape is also able to
absorb any magic or energy based skill that is used on the Black
Knight by absorbing it into its shadow dimension. It can then be
reflected back at its user using the Shadow Dimension to send it
back or absorbed by the Black Knight and stored in the shadow
dimension to boost their own magic power as the Shadow Dimension
feeds on the energy. The cape is said to also have a unique
skill when it is torn, which is said to release waves of
darkness from it that can either strengthen the Black Knight or
       be used to blast enemies.
For weapons, there is the Sword of Darkness, a powerful two
handed sword said to be able to cut through anything, and can
focus a powerful darkness that can split time and space itself
with its darkness slashes. The Black Knight also has a Shield of
Darkness, which can block almost any attack, and is said to be
strong enough to withstand a mountain being dropped on it. The
Shield also has the ability to release waves of dark energy upon
being struck, which blast those who strike the shield. The Black
Knight also has the Bow of Darkness, which fires darkness
arrows, and utilizes dark magic versions of elven arrow arts.
The Bow of Darkness fires any kind of arrow, manifesting them
using dark creation magic to create physical objects from
nothing. Lastly, there is the Lance of Darkness, a strong
spear/trident that is believed to be able to fire waves of
darkness that can corrupt others, and the Lance is also said to
be able to be controlled by the wielder even when separated. It
is also believed that all of these weapons also has the power to
induce instant death upon opponents who aren't above a certain
level if they are cut by them.
I know you're thinking two things right now... The first is:
"This guy is completely cr*cked!" And yes. You'd be right. This
is meant to be the biggest threat to this world that can exist.
And considering the Black Knight was created by the God of
Chaos, it's easy to guess that the God of Chaos didn't care
about fairness or power balancing when he started unleashing
Black Knights of Calamity onto this world. There's a good reason
the Black Knight of Calamity is referred to as a walking natural
       disaster.
The other thing you are probably thinking is: "How can anyone
even beat this guy?" And that is a valid question. The only
person who is guaranteed to be able to beat the Black Knight of
Calamity is the Hero, who is chosen by the gods. There'd be a
lot to get into, but let's just say the Hero has a number of
equally broken abilities including being able to grow stronger
without limit, purification magic sword techniques that
literally cause those with evil in them to be purified of all
evil energy, literal infinite stamina, and the ability to learn
any skill that is used on them. The Hero was designed
specifically to murder the Black Knight of Calamity and other
powerful threats like it, like demon lord monsters who try to
take over the world. However, there are some others with equally
broken titles that come with equally broken abilities, such as
the Crimson Assassin and the Diamond Archer, who actually can
become strong enough to help take out a Black Knight of
       Calamity.
But you might be surprised to find out that even a normal guy
can kill a Black Knight of Calamity. There are powerful warriors
who have killed previous Black Knights of Calamity with nothing
but a holy sword and a dream. Even though Black Knights are OP
beyond belief, they can still be killed by a good holy sword to
the heart, regardless of who wields it. And if their heart is
struck with a holy sword or they are beheaded, the Black Knight
dies and their story ends just like anyone else (only difference
is that it takes a holy sword to kill a Black Knight). A few
have caught Black Knights unaware and surprise attacked them
with holy swords, and one person even killed one in their sleep
by mixing poison and holy water.
Now imagine all these skills, possessed by the man who was the
strongest demon in his previous world. When you combine these
with Kindron's own Darkfire skills, demon skills, and his
darkness skills, you get what would probably be the final boss
of almost any world... Heck, if the power scaling for this
universe were different, it's possible that Kindron would have
been a resident in the Dark Dimension before long and making
       friends with Dark Dimension Kindron.
Back to our bio though. We got places to be, so let's get this
       show rolling...
So, back to Kindron's story. Kindron Darkfire had developed all
of these powers as a young boy alongside strengthening his own
abilities. In addition to his experience from his old life, it
wasn't about getting stronger, but relearning all his old skills
and learning to use his new body (And a side mention if him
having to learn how to use the Black Knight skills). Due to his
power and how quickly he grew stronger, Kindron was a powerful
being even as a child, and had even the most hardened warriors
sh*tting bricks when they saw his powers in action.
At first, Kindron was accepted by his family despite his title.
The family tried to accept and raise Kindron to be a good person
and tried to ignore all of his plot power. However, when he
manifested his Black Knight of Calamity armor when he was young
and was unable to remove it, the family feared that Kindron had
turned evil after awakening the Black Knight armor. Let's just
say, seeing that armor made his family rethink not killing
Kindron in his sleep when they had the chance.
The incident with the armor led the family to ostracize Kindron
and disown him out of fear of the Black Knight of Calamity,
which led to Kindron basically being cast out and left to fend
for himself. Due to being the Black Knight of Calamity, Kindron
wasn't accepted anywhere, or accepted among any race. Kindron
was basically left to wander the world by himself, rejected even
by monsters and demons. So Kindron decided to travel the world,
living on his own and training his skills.
At some point, Kindron became a bounty hunter while also
training to control his Black Knight transformation and suppress
his Black Knight abilities. It was during this time that Kindron
took the name Kindron Darkfire, since there were no Darkfires in
this world. Kindron never mentioned Hades or his world's
heritage to others. Kindron would use his name "Kindron
Darkfire" as his official identity, no longer mentioning his
born name. Thankfully, Kindron did manage to suppress his Black
Knight skills, only using them when he wanted to (including
suppressing his dark knight armor). The only thing he could not
control was when his Black Knight armor pieces manifested to
protect him from attacks, which happened subconsciously.
However, for the most part, no one was ever able to get through
Kindron's defenses to trigger the appearance of the armor pieces
on his body, which led to Kindron being able to use his identity
as Kindron Darkfire so that others didn't know he was the one
who had become the Black Knight of Calamity. After using a skill
and charm to disguise his blessing and only show a "Swordmaster"
blessing he gained from a swordsman he fought (absorbed through
his Black Knight skills that became a dark blessing). This led
others to believe that Kindron's blessing was Swordsmaster, a
blessing that was granted to high level swordsman and granted
       certain sword skills.
Kindron would become known as the Black Flash, a swordsman of
unrivaled power and speed. He lived in the kingdom of Gale,
living among humans. As a bounty hunter, Kindron would often
hunt down criminals and bring them to governments, and would
help defeat dungeons that appeared so that the kingdom could use
the dungeons to farm minerals unique to the dungeons. Kindron
would also often use the dungeon quests to absorb mana crystals
from monsters and gain new skills. However, Kindron would travel
alone and wouldn't join other adventurer parties outside of
training exercises he had to do at times, as he couldn't let
anyone get too close to him, lest they find out who he really
was. He would search out strong enemies to fight and take down,
living a live of battle and solitude.
Things changed though, when Kindron met a cat girl Beastkin
named Freya Ignis. Freya was a subspecies of beastkin known as a
black cat, a lesser race who was believed to be weak because it
was believed that the black cats could not evolve like other
Beastkin. In all of recorded history in this world, there has
been no recorded instance of a black cat ever evolving, and they
would eventually become slaves of other races, or just outright
killed for how weak they were. Black cats were known among the
lowest rank of beastkin/demi-humans, due to them being weaker
than even un-evolved beastkin. Black cats also had very little
to no ability to use beastkin arts, meaning most black cats only
ever had their own skill in combat. However, defying
conventional wisdom and not content to accept her place as a
weaker race, Freya was on a quest to become stronger and evolve.
However, Freya's journey took a dark turn when she was captured
by human slavers. The slavers used her for manual labor by
putting a slave collar and forcing a magic contract to make the
human slavers able to command those with the slave collars
(through use of a submission spell that forces the master's will
on the servants). For a few years, she was stuck being a slave
to humans, trying to find a way to free herself.
Things changed though when, during a trip through the Great
Plains forest outside of Gale, a simple merchant's trip turned
into a disaster. After the caravan was attacked by a two headed
bear, the slavers tried to escape while using the slave collars
to force the slaves to fight the bear and become distractions so
       the slavers could escape.
After saving Freya, Kindron started training Freya, moved by
Freya's determination to grow stronger, and her acceptance of
him despite him being what he considered a monster. Kindron
agreed to train Freya, and started teaching her everything from
sword skills, martial arts skills, and even helping her learn
beast arts (though black cat beast arts are limited, so Freya
relied more on her combat skills than any beast arts).
In order to help her growth, Kindron started using one of his
skills to share some of his skills with Freya through a
telepathic bond, and Kindron shared skills such as his Darkfire
skills as well as other skills he'd gained from others that he
felt Freya would be able to handle. Kindron was even able to
share his martial arts mastery and swordsman mastery with Freya,
and the two built a connection through Kindron's bonding skill
that let him empower Freya and let Kindron give her new
abilities at will, and the two started training together as they
started traveling together. Kindron would even give one of his
main swords, Kokuyoha, to Freya which she would start using.
Kokuyoha, known as the Obsidian Blade, would become Freya's main
weapon, as she utilized her swordsman mastery that Kindron had
granted her that also allowed her to learn all of Kindron's
skills in the Hiten Mitsurugi style that he had carried over to
his new life. Kokuyoha had a strong power over darkness and
could create dark flames, which Freya used to her advantage to
create black flames she could attack with.
However, another affect of the bond they shared was that Kindron
now possessed stronger Beastkin arts thanks to his bond with
Freya. As Freya gained a lot of his demonic, dark and Darkfire
abilities, Kindron also gained power from Freya. Even though
Freya didn't have a lot of power of her own, Kindron did gain
partial Beastkin power from the bond with her, which let him
also use many Beastkin abilities. It had seemed that Kindron had
gained wolf-like abilities in addition to his demonic abilities,
as Kindron could manifest black wolf features like a black wolf
tail and black wolf ears when he wanted to. Kindron mostly used
this in the form of claws, and developed new techniques
combining his darkness power with claw slashes to create his own
unique Beastkin art (one that he shared with Freya so she could
use her cat claws to attack enemies. This actually led Kindron
to gain a new variation of the Black Knight title: The Dark Wolf
       Knight of Chaos.
Freya would take Kindron to the Adventurer's Guild in a town in
Gale, and the two would become adventurers together, starting at
the rank of E, which was the second lowest rank of adventurer.
Freya would become known as the Shadow Cat, due to the fact that
she was seen by others as "always being in Kindron's shadow."
Kindron and Freya would even come up with their own group name
(mostly Freya coming up with the name), which they ended up
calling Darkness Evolution. Though starting out at Rank E (the
second to lowest rank), Kindron and Freya's power would be
obvious as they outperformed many higher ranked adventurers, and
started taking on enemies that were thought to be too powerful
for the Guild to handle. Of course, people had heard rumors of
Kindron's past as the Black Flash, the mysterious bounty hunter
who they had never seen, but heard rumors of an impossibly fast
swordsman who hunted down high level monsters and threats, and
was said to have worked for the previous king of Gale.
Freya and Kindron would approach battles with a unique dynamic,
in which they had a system to figuring out who would fight
battles. If the opponent was stronger than Freya could handle,
or the enemy had a skill Kindron wanted, then Kindron would
fight (and usually dominate the fight in the process). However,
if it was an enemy too weak to interest Kindron, then he would
give the fight to Freya, often giving her pointers and helping
       coach her during fights.
This story takes place during their first dungeon raid together,
during the early days of their adventures...

Freya: It's just low level goblins. They're not even a challenge
anymore, even in big numbers... Freya says blankly to Kindron as
she uses her martial arts to take out the goblins of the dungeon
they were in. With the dark flames enhancing her techniques, she
was able to leave only smoldering piles of ash when she attacked
       the goblins.
Kindron: Yeah, the stronger ones must be deeper in the dungeon.
I thought the hobgoblins would be more of a challenge, but even
though they're bigger, they're still too low level for you at
this point... Hopefully the Goblin King and Queen are strong
enough to at least challenge you. And hopefully you can beat
them before the other adventurers catch up to us and want to
take some of these guys out for themselves. He says, remembering
how they left the adventurers outside fighting the main force of
the lesser goblins while they had moved into the dungeon to take
out the stronger monsters of the dungeon on their own. He just
casually walks behind her, giving Freya room to fight while
occassionally dodging and killing the stragglers who come from
other parts of the dungeon and try to attack him. Though they
were in a small space, Freya seemed to have no trouble moving
around, and was careful about using her combat effectively. She
wasn't using Kindron's black sword, Kokuyoha (Obsidian Blade),
that Kindron gave her yet, since the corridors were too narrow
       to use a sword effectively.
Kindron just watches Freya take down the goblins with a smile,
silently reflecting on how much stronger Freya had come since he
met her. Back then, Freya wouldn't even have been strong enough
to take down one goblin, let alone a whole dungeon full of them.
Though they hadn't known each other long, Freya had grown so
much stronger in such a short time, a fact that Kindron took
silent pride in. Of course, part of the reason was the fact that
Kindron had bonded with Freya and shared a number of skills with
her. But unlike what others would have done, Freya didn't rely
on those skills, but rather tried to rely on raw combat skills
rather than using Kindron's powerful skills as a crutch.
Kindron couldn't help but remember back to when he met Freya...
       Begin Flashback.
Kindron was running through the area in his black flame wolf
form, using his enhanced sense of smell to track down threats in
the Great Plains. He didn't know what he was looking for, but
found it when he smelled the blood of beastkin and humans, as
well as a two headed bear that was the size of a building.
When Kindron jumped down from the trees above, he landed in
front of Freya. Freya, scared, just looked at Kindron (who was
still in his black flame wolf form), and watched him, realizing
she might have a chance to get away.
Kindron turns back into his normal form, and gets ready to draw
his sword, the Obsidian Blade, Kokuyoha. The two headed bear
tried to attack, but let's be honest here... Kindron was never
in any real danger in this fight given his abilities.
Kindron slices the bear in two in an extremely fast sword draw,
slicing it right down the middle between its two heads, and the
two-headed bear falls to the ground dead before it had even seen
       Kindron's sword draw.
Kindron turns away as the bear falls to the ground dead and
swings his sword to the side, forcing the blood off of his sword
from the slash. As he puts his sword away, he notices Freya
       stumbling towards him in awe.
Freya: That was so cool... You beat him in one attack. She says,
admiring Kindron's power to have beaten such a threat in one
       attack.
Kindron looks over to her. Kindron: I've fought far stronger
monsters, so I knew I could beat it. He says to her.
Freya runs over to Kindron, taking his hand and looking into his
eyes. Freya: Please train me! I want to get stronger! She says,
       desperate.
Kindron looks to her. Though her desperate look made him feel
bad for what he was going to say, he had to say it. Kindron: I'm
sorry... I can't. I'm too dangerous for you to hang around. He
       says, turning away from her.
She looks to him, still desperate. Freya: I don't care! I want
to... No, I NEED to get stronger! And you're the strongest
person I've ever seen! Please! She says to him, tears in her
       eyes.
Kindron sighs. Kindron: You don't even know who I am. I could be
someone evil planning to use you for some evil purpose. He says
       to her.
Freya thinks for a moment, looking down before looking back up
at him. Freya: You're not. If you were, you wouldn't be trying
to push me away to protect me. She gets a determined look in her
eyes. Despite her innocent look, she was surprisingly smart
figuring out Kindron's intentions almost instantly. I can tell
that you're not evil. And even if you were... I owe you my life,
so use my life as you want! I'm a slave now, so take me as a
slave if that's what you want to do! She says to him with a look
of sadness that was hard to ignore.
Before Kindron could respond, a man walking up to the scene
looks at the bear remains, and then at the dead slaves.
Man: Seriously? Only one slave survived? He says as he walks
over to Kindron and Freya. He then looks to Kindron, while Freya
backs away in fear. I suppose I have you to thank for killing
the beast. I'll be taking its carcass if you don't mind. He says
to Kindron. He then looks to Freya. Come, little one.
Freya: No! She says in response to the man's order, trying to
       hide behind Kindron.
Kindron looks to Freya, noticing her slave collar before he
looks to the man. Kindron: What makes you think you have any
rights to claim my kill? He says to the man.
Man: Because I will pay you for it... That bear's meat and pelt
will make me a lot of money, and I'll even process the meat for
you. It will be far more profitable than taking it to a butcher
shop if you sell it to me. He says, before looking to Freya. Now
come here so we can take this bounty, slave! He says to Freya,
forcing the collar to make her obey. Freya tries to resist,
trying to hold back tears from the pain the collar was putting
       her in.
Kindron turns to the man, and glares at him. The reality of who
this man was hit him like a ton of bricks, as Kindron realized
this man was not just a merchant, but a slave trader. Even
though it wasn't illegal to use people as slaves in this part of
the kingdom, it still disgusted Kindron to see people being
oppressed. He grits his teeth in annoyance as he clenches his
fists. Kindron: I'm only going to say this once... Release the
girl and walk away. Take the bear if you want, I don't care. He
       says to him.
The man, panicked as he knew he couldn't take on someone like
Kindron, takes out a contract and holds his hand to it. Man:
Either the girl comes with me, or I kill her! All I have to do
is activate this contract's clause and the girl will die
instantly. As long as I'm alive, that girl belongs to me! He
says to Kindron with an angry scowl.
Kindron shrugs. Kindron: I warned you... He says to the man,
       giving him one last glare.
The man steps back, still holding the contract. Man: Take even
one step, or move in any way... And I'll kill the cat girl! I'm
       serious!
Kindron looks to him. Kindron: I believe you. He says grimly.
The man smiles, thinking he'd won. Man: Good. Now come along,
slave gir- He says before being interrupted by Kindron.
Kindron: Die. He says, using his Words of Darkness skill. As he
says that one single word, it not only interrupts the man, but
causes him to fall dead to the ground. The man was dead before
he had even started falling to the ground, evident by his eyes
rolling back and his speech stopping completely as he fell.
As the man died, Kindron snaps his fingers to ignite black
flames which light the contract on fire with his black flames,
destroying the contract and its hold on Freya. Kindron: There's
three things I can't stand in this world. One of them happens to
be people who oppress others. And it's not like you could have
killed her anyway... If you had, nothing would have stopped me
from killing you. You should have walked away. It was the only
way you were going to survive. He says darkly as he turns away.
Freya, watching the man fall to the ground, was in awe of
Kindron's power to kill someone with a single word. In her awe,
she also had just realized that the man's death caused the slave
collar on her to release and fall off.
Kindron begins to walk away, hoping Freya would be too afraid to
       follow him.
However, Freya runs over to Kindron and hugs him from behind.
Freya: Thank you! You freed me. She says happily, tears in her
       eyes.
Kindron, a bit surprised, turns back to look at Freya, who
wasn't letting him go. Kindron: I did what I felt was right.
You're no longer a slave, so go and be free.
Freya gets a snarky look on her face as she looks at Kindron,
letting go of him and pointing to his face. Freya: Don't think
you're getting off that easy! I still want you to train me! Even
more now! She says with a smile, her earlier shyness and
hesitation gone, as though being freed had given her new
       confidence.
Kindron sighs. as he turns to her. Kindron: You just watched me
kill a man without hesitation or remorse. Why would you desire
to be trained by someone like me? He says darkly, trying to be
       intimidating.
Freya just chuckles to herself. Freya: To be fair... Killing
that guy should have been legal considering how much of a jerk
he was. She says sarcastically, sticking her tongue out at the
man's dead body as though trying to add further insults to the
       man's death.
Kindron: Fine. Then I'll let you see the truth about me.
Something I don't show anyone. He says, as he temporarily turns
into his Black Knight of Calamity form, turning to Freya. I am
the Black Knight of Calamity... A monster destined to bring
disaster to this world and be destroyed by the gods' chosen
Hero. He says, his words echoing thanks to his helmet.
Freya, rather than be scared, got a bright look in her eyes.
Freya: That's the Black Knight of Calamity armor? That's so
cool! I never thought I'd get to see it up close! She smiles
brightly and hugs Kindron. I couldn't ask for a better teacher
than the most powerful knight in the world! Imagine how strong I
could get with your training! She says to Kindron.
Kindron, surprised at her acceptance of his Black Knight form,
hugs her back. Kindron: You realize what I am right? If you
travel with me, you'll eventually be shunned if anyone ever
figures out who I am. My destiny is to die, and if you follow
me, yours will be as well... He says, returning to normal. He
studies Freya for a moment, noticing she was unaffected upon
seeing his Black Knight form. This isn't right. The Helm of
Darkness should induce fear in you... Even the fearless should
feel fear upon seeing me. He says to himself. Was it Freya's
innocence? Or did she just suffer so much in slavery that seeing
death itself didn't scare her anymore?
She then lets go of Kindron and gives him a joking salute.
       Freya: Don't worry, Teacher! I won't tell a soul. And I'll
follow you to the ends of the earth. She says confidently.
Kindron couldn't help but laugh at Freya's joking salute. He
then looks to her. Kindron: What's your name?
Freya then thinks. Freya: I actually don't have one. My parents
died when I was little, and I don't know my real name. And those
slavers never gave me a name either. It's not like they cared
enough to call me anything other than "slave girl." And I ain't
answering to that, no matter how strong you are. She says the
       last part sarcastically.
Kindron thinks for a moment. Kindron: Well... If I'm going to
train you, I'm going to have to call you something. He says,
which causes Freya's face to light up happily. Let's see... He
       says, thinking.
Freya: Yeah! Give me any name you want! Just make it a good one!
She says jokingly, though excited at the prospect of training
       with Kindron.
Kindron: Then... I'll name you Freya. Freya... Ignis. Yeah...
That sounds good. Freya Ignis. It means "fiery spirit." He says
       to her.
Freya smiles and taps her chest. Freya: That sounds awesome!
Kindron: I suppose I should tell you my name... My name is
Kindron Darkfire. But you can just call me Kin if you want.
That's what everyone else calls me. He says to her with a shrug.
Freya gets a smile and pokes Kindron in the chest playfully.
Freya: From now on, you're Teacher to me... Because you're my
teacher. That's what I'm going to call you from now on. She says
       confidently.
Kindron looks to her with a serious expression. Kindron: What I
said before is still true. It is my destiny to die at the hands
of a hero. If you really are dedicated to this, then you need to
understand. I don't want you to have to die for being associated
with me... One day, the Hero will hunt me down and kill me.
That's their destiny. He explains to her.
Freya just gets a confident look on her face and points to
Kindron. Freya: If that's the case, then I'll just have to
become your number one minion! So that when someone comes along
to kill you, I'll beat them first! Even if we have to fight the
whole world, we'll do it together! She says with a confident
       smile.
Kindron just chuckles to himself. Kindron: Remember your words.
You have no idea how true those words will be. To this world, I
am the definition of evil. And you will probably have to fight
the whole world if you stick with me. He says to himself.
Freya smiles to Kindron. Freya: You aren't evil. I could tell
when we met. She then gets in Kindron's face with a confident
look. I can tell... You want to protect this world, even if it's
from yourself. You train me, and I'll help you find acceptance
       in this world.
Kindron looks to her. Kindron: The only acceptance I will find
will be in death. He says simply.
Freya: Yeah, no. She says sarcastically, shaking her finger. We
can do better than that! We just gotta change how the world sees
you! The Black Knight of Calamity doesn't have to use his powers
for evil, and if you don't use your powers for evil, there's no
reason for the Hero to hunt you down and kill you. I'll fight to
make sure they accept you and see you not as a Black Knight of
Calamity, but a Black Knight Guardian! Maybe you can even become
the Hero yourself! She says confidently. As though realizing
what she said, she smiles. Yeah... We make YOU the hero, and
people have to acknowledge you! Black Knight Guardian, or even
better... Black Knight Hero! She says confidently.
Kindron: A Black Knight Hero, huh? I kind of like the sound of
       that. He says to himself.
Freya smiles. Freya: A Black Knight and a Black Cat... I think
we'll be a great team. She says confidently.
       End Flashback.
After talking to Freya more, Kindron had learned Freya's goals,
and more about the black cats subspecies of Beastkin. Freya's
goal was to evolve, something no other black cat in history had
done. Kindron knew all about beastkin evolution, but didn't know
much about the subspecies like black cats. During their time
together, Kindron supported Freya's goals of evolving, doing his
best to help her train to get stronger so she could evolve
       someday.
Every day, it seemed like Freya was getting stronger and
stronger even without the extra skills Kindron was giving her.
Kindron even offered to turn her into a demon with his demonic
amplification in order to grant her a demonic power that would
change her into a more powerful being. However, Freya had
rejected Kindron's offer, opting to train herself into her own
evolution rather than relying on Kindron's power to shortcut the
process. It was something that Kindron admired about her, in
which her dedication to her goal was unwavering, and she was not
willing to take any shortcuts no matter how difficult the
       process would be.
Back to reality though, in Kindron's remembering and thinking,
he realized he and Freya had made it to the Goblin King and
Queen, who were standing in a horde of goblins. They were in a
large room in the dungeon, one where Freya could freely take out
Kokuyoha and get ready to attack with a smile.
Kindron: No. Hold on. He says to Freya, putting his hand in
       front of her.
Freya looks over to Kindron. Freya: Huh? Why?! I'm supposed to
take them down, remember? She says bitterly.
Kindron: The small fry aren't enough of a challenge anymore and
there's no reason to have you fight them. But there are still
enough of them that it might be annoying to have to fight them
and the king and queen. The small fry are just going to waste
your stamina, magic and time. Let me thin the herd, and you can
take on the king and queen. We've already done more than enough
training taking on the smaller goblins. He says to Freya as he
charges a spell of black flames.
Freya: Fine... She says with a sigh, a bit upset that she didn't
get to wipe them all out.
Kindron: Blackfire Cyclone! He says as he releases a large
tornado of black flames that blasts the group of goblins.
Kindron looks to Freya. Kindron: Alright. That should take out
most of the small fry. Go ahead and... He says, but stops as he
notices something as the smoke clears. Whoops... I tried to hold
back as much as I could... He says to himself. It seemed that in
his attack, he had not only killed the smaller goblins, but
killed the Goblin King and Goblin Queen who lay in a smoldering
       heap on the ground.
Freya fumes in anger and turns to Kindron, puffing her cheeks in
anger. Freya: Teacher! You killed the king and queen! I was
supposed to fight them! She pouts, stomping her foot angrily.
Kindron sighs and scratches his head. Kindron: Right. Sorry.
I'll bring the king and queen back to life. So get ready and
strike them down quick, okay? He says to Freya.
Kindron's comment makes Freya stop for a moment. Freya: Wait...
What? Did you say bring them back to life? She says in
confusion, completely forgetting her annoyance and bitterness as
she wondered what Kindron was about to do.
Kindron looks down and holds his hand out towards the remains of
       the goblins.
Kindron: Regenerate. He says, using a darkness spell to turn
back time on the goblin king and queen. He restores only the
king and queen, seemingly bringing them back to life, even
though what he really did was turn back time on their bodies so
that they would be in the condition they were in earlier.
Freya, impressed, smiles. Freya: Okay, that's pretty cool! She
says as she takes her sword out. Alright! Here I go! She says as
she jumps towards the king and queen.
Kindron: Remember to strike their mana crystals. He says to
Freya. Even though it was partially to make sure the monsters
really died, it was also more to make sure that Freya used the
sword to absorb the crystals since her using the sword to
destroy the crystals sent the power within the crystals to
Kindron (which gave him more skills and power that he shared
       with Freya).
Freya: Right! She says as she zips past the king and queen. As
she does, the king and queen split into pieces, having been cut
multiple times by Freya so fast that the goblin king and queen
couldn't even process it. Freya turns back to look at them as
the king and queen fall to the ground. Of course, considering
they were in pieces before they fell apart, the king and queen
were dead before they hit the ground.
Freya waves to Kindron after admiring her handy work. Freya: Hey
       Teacher! I did it!
Kindron smiles and jumps down. Kindron: It seems so. He says
jokingly. He then looks to the remains of the king and queen.
Hmm... Weird. The king and queen were supposed to be the dungeon
masters. If the dungeon hasn't deactivated, then...
Freya: Then there must be an even stronger goblin inside! She
says excitedly as she runs to exit the room.
Kindron shrugs and follows her. Kindron: I guess so. The King
and Queen were supposed to be the strongest goblins we'd
encounter. But if the king and queen weren't the dungeon master,
then what kind of goblin would be controlling a dungeon full of
goblins? He ponders to himself as he walks with Freya.
Freya: Maybe it's a goblin god or something? She says, coming up
       with ideas.
Kindron thinks. Kindron: Doubtful. I don't think the goblins
have a god, other than the God of Chaos... And I don't think the
God of Chaos can show up in our world. If he could, we'd
probably be in trouble. He says.
As they ponder, they reach another big door leading downstairs.
Kindron: Well, I guess the king and queen weren't the final boss
of the dungeon. He says as he walks with Freya down the stairs,
noticing there was more to the dungeon than the king and queen.
Freya just happily skips along, ready to cut down anything in
her path. Though she looked like she was having a good time, she
was also still on guard, ready to take down any monster in her
       path.
As they find another door, they get ready to enter.
Kindron: Alright. I'm guessing this is the final door. Let's go,
and be ready for anything. He says to Freya, who nods and holds
       her sword ready.
As they walk in, they find two beings inside. One of which was
floating above them, and the other was near a large mana
       crystal.
Kindron and Freya look over at the large mana crystal near the
back corner of the room as the large doors close behind them,
       trapping them in the room.
Kindron: That must be the core. He then looks at the small
being, clearly some form of small goblin mage, near the core. It
was about the size of a normal goblin and had a strange staff
that was presumably some kind of magic staff.
Kindron: And that... I'm guessing is the dungeon master. Dinky
little thing, isn't he? He says, noticing how small the goblin
was. Though mutated and clearly stronger than a normal goblin,
it was still very small, and looked pretty weak compared to the
larger hobgoblins that Freya and Kindron had dispatched during
       their time in the dungeon.
Goblin: You fools! I am the Goblin Master! I am the master of
this dungeon! He says angrily. He then stomps angrily. I can't
believe you killed my goblins! All that planning, down the
       drain!
Freya looks at the Goblin Master for a moment with a blank look
       and then turns to Kindron.
Freya: He's really ugly. She says to Kindron sarcastically.
Kindron then shrugs. Kindron: Well... It is a goblin. He says
       sarcastically.
Goblin Master: You fools! He says to Kindron and Freya. You have
no idea! The king and queen are dead, but I still have my ace!
Belial! Kill them! He says, pointing to the figure floating
       above them.
Freya: Oh. There's another one. And this goblin flies... She
says, unimpressed, as she looks up to the figure floating above
       them.
Kindron: Yeah... That's not a goblin. He says to Freya.
As the figure, Belial, floats down, he scoffs. Belial: It's
about time you noticed me. I was about to cut off all your heads
       because I was getting impatient.
Kindron: Interesting... A demon rank monster... They're rare
monsters with the power of demons. I've never seen one in person
before. This just got interesting. He says, sensing the mana
       crystal in Belial.
Belial smiles at Kindron's analysis. Belial: Quite observant,
aren't you little human? Yes... I'm a demon ranked monster.
Strong enough to kill a human and a little kitty cat. He stops
as he notices something. He scoffs as he noticed Kindron and
Freya had turned away from Belial and had started whispering
amongst themselves. Belial grits his teeth in anger.
Belial: HEY! I'm talking here! He shouts angrily to Kindron and
       Freya.
Goblin Master: Shut up and kill them while their backs are
       turned! He says to Belial.
Belial: No. I'll wait... They must be confident to turn their
backs on me. I want to see where they're getting that
confidence. He says to the Goblin Master with a smile.
Goblin Master: I ORDER you, you stupid demon! Kill them now! He
       says angrily.
Belial turns to the Goblin Master in anger. Belial: I refuse.
Order me around and you will regret it. He says, pointing his
finger threateningly at the Goblin Master.
Goblin: Just my luck... I summon a powerful demon and he doesn't
listen at all! He says angrily to himself.
Kindron and Freya look back at the demon, which causes Belial to
turn back toward Kindron and Freya.
Belial: Done with your little talk? He says, annoyed at how
little respect he was being shown.
Kindron: We are. He says to Belial. Sorry for the wait. But we
have a question. How strong are you? What rank are you in demon
strength? He asks curiously, speaking loud enough for the demon
to hear up in the air.
Belial smiles. Belial: Oh? Curious, are we? I suppose I'll share
my rank with you. It will make for good despair when you realize
how hopeless your situation is. He then smiles. I am a Greater
       Demon! He yells confidently.
Kindron: Damn it! He says, snapping his fingers in annoyance.
Freya: YES! She says, jumping happily.
Belial: That's right! Despair at- Wait... What? He says as he
notices Freya's reaction. Okay... Why is the kitty girl so
happy? She should be scared right now... He says to Kindron,
slightly annoyed that Freya's response wasn't what he wanted.
Kindron sighs. Kindron: Well... It's because you're not a high
enough rank to be worth my time fighting. So that means she's
going to fight you instead of me. He says with a shrug.
Belial: Not a high enough rank? He says, now curious at
Kindron's statement. What rank were you hoping I'd be?
Kindron: I was hoping you'd be at least a demon general... Maybe
a Demon Lord. He says with a shrug. I was kind of hoping you'd
be a much higher level so I could have some fun fighting for
       once.
Belial: I'm sorry... What?! He says, in disbelief. Demon
Generals and Demon Lords are leagues above normal demon rank
monsters! Even I wouldn't want to fight them! He says to
       Kindron.
Freya walks forward, holding her sword at her side with a smile.
Freya: Yeah, that's why Teacher's sitting out. Because you're
not worth his time. Which is sad since I wish I could watch
Teacher fight more often. She says cheerfully, and prideful
since she admired Kindron's power. So you fight me instead. She
says with an almost sinister smile.
Belial thinks for a moment as he studies Freya and then looks
over to Kindron. Belial: The human is sitting out? Is he really
that confident I'm not worth his time? No human without a hero
blessing can beat a demon general. He must be bluffing. But...
Something about him makes me uncomfortable... If he really is as
strong as he projects himself to be, then I might have to be
careful. The cat should be easy, but that human... I may have to
be careful and take him out now. He thinks to himself as he
studies Kindron, who was staying back as Freya got ready to
fight. Kindron leans back against the closed door behind them,
sitting down on the ground as he watches.
The Goblin Master, noticing Kindron was open to attack, shouts
at Belial. Goblin Master: Belial! Attack the human while he's
defenseless! NOW! He says to Belial.
Belial turns to the Goblin Master, annoyed. Belial: Shut up! I
will kill him when I'm ready! He says angrily.
Kindron: For a summoned servant, he can't be controlled even by
his master... I wonder if that's due to his Insubordination
skill. He says to himself, analyzing Belial while Belial was
shouting at the Goblin Master. Thanks to certain skills he had,
Kindron could see all the skills Belial had, and sense Belial's
power. He had a list of Belial's skills, with the two unique
ones being Insubordination, and Skill Eater.
Goblin: If you're going to kill them, then kill them already! He
       says angrily.
Belial: Shut up! I kill what I want. WHEN I want! He shouts at
the demon. And that includes you if you don't shut up and stop
trying to order me around! He says angrily.
Kindron: Well... I like his spirit at least. He says
       sarcastically with a shrug.
Freya gets ready, holding her sword ready, while Belial summons
       his demon sword.
Kindron looks at the demon sword with interest. Kindron:
Interesting blade. I'll have to make sure to grab it from his
corpse after Freya kills him. Since I gave Freya my sword, it
might help for me to get a new sword myself. He says to himself.
Belial: Fine then... It seems it's you and me, little kitty. He
says to Freya as he moves to attack. Freya moves to attack as
well, and the two start attacking each other with their sword
       skills.
Kindron thinks for a moment as he analyzes Freya and Belial.
Kindron: Freya has the edge with maxed out swordmaster and
martial arts skills, maybe an edge in agility and speed... But
she doesn't have the physical stats to keep up with the demon.
If she wants to win, she'll need more than just strength alone.
And I'm sure she's clever enough to figure that out quickly. But
it's unlikely she can win by herself. He thinks to himself,
wondering if he should have taken the fight after all.
Freya and Belial cross swords, trying to slash each other. While
Freya figured out quickly that Belial was stronger, Freya uses
her agility due to her cat skills to try and stay ahead of
       Belial.
As the two clash, Belial smiles. Belial: Well... Aren't you just
the speedy little kitty? He says jokingly as he moves to attack
       again.
Freya moves out of the way, and tries to attack Belial. Belial
just dodges and knocks Freya's sword out of her hand before
kicking her into the wall. Freya coughs up blood as she tries to
recover. Black flames cover her as she regenerates, slowly
       moving forward again.
Belial: Oh... That's a neat trick. A regeneration ability? He
says as he notices the black flames regenerating the damage
       Freya took.
Kindron, with his arms crossed, grips his arms tightly. It was
hard to watch Freya in pain, but he knew he had to stay out of
the fight, as Freya wanted to fight battles like this to get
stronger. But it was still hard for him to not jump in and
protect her, since he had to actively suppress his instincts to
protect her. Even though he could bring her back to life if she
died the same way he brought back the Goblin King and Queen, it
was always hard to watch Freya get hurt, and Kindron didn't want
to see Freya die even if he could bring her back to life.
Kindron got a little antsy, wondering if he should intervene or
not. But he doesn't intervene, knowing that Freya would scold
him if he did take over the fight.
Freya avoids Belial's slash wave he swings at her, and zips
around with incredible speed as she makes it back to grab her
sword. She then zips back into battle, attacking Belial again.
The two cross swords again, clashing as Freya focuses on
parrying and countering rather than trying to match Belial's raw
       strength.
However, Belial then uses another skill to disappear into the
shadows in order to try and catch Freya off guard.
Belial: Uh oh... Where did he go? He says mockingly as he
       disappears into the shadows.
Freya looks around frantically, trying to track Belial, but is
unable to find where Belial disappeared to. However, Kindron
gets ready to move, as it was obvious he knew what was about to
       happen next.
Belial comes from behind Freya, and slices off her hands in one
quick motion after coming out of the darkness, which causes
Kokuyoha to clatter to the ground once Freya lost her grip on
       it.
Belial flies up into the air with a confident smile as Freya
falls to her knees, her wrists bleeding once her hands were cut
off. She was in shock, and not processing information, even as
her hands regenerated in bursts of black flames.
Belial, noticing the regeneration, talks to himself. Belial:
That's not a beast art... What is that regeneration skill?! He
       says silently to himself.
As Freya panics and tries unsuccessfully to regain her
       composure.
Kindron moves in a burst of Sonido, moving in front of Freya. He
takes her hands and looks into her eyes. Kindron: Freya...
You're okay. You regenerated. I know you're scared. He says to
Freya, knowing that Freya was freaked out at losing her hands.
Freya: I... could have died... She says to herself.
Kindron: Listen Freya. Every warrior has to struggle with death.
Death is never too far behind when you're in a fight. I know
what you're feeling. You're feeling that feeling of doom... Like
you got hurt and now you feel like you're going to die here. He
       explains to Freya.
Freya just nods, tears in her eyes.
Kindron: You're not going to die here. Trust me. He says to her
confidently. Every fighter has to deal with the fear of death.
You have the luck of having regeneration skills.
Meanwhile, Belial just laughs as he listens to Kindron.
Belial: But she is going to die here! I can easily kill her. He
says with a smile as he points his sword.
Kindron turns and glares at Belial. Kindron: You don't realize
this... But you're the one here who's going to die. You and your
goblin friend. You don't realize it, but your fate is already
       sealed.
Belial smiles as he looks at Kindron. Belial: Oh? Do tell,
       human... He says confidently.
Kindron smiles as he pats Freya's head softly and turns to face
       Belial.
Kindron: There's two ways this ends... First, you kill Freya,
and then I bring her back. That ends with me killing you. Or, I
can fight you and kill you myself while Freya is not in the
       battle. Either way. You die.
Belial gets a sinister smile. Belial: Aren't you forgetting
something? I can kill you first. All I have to do is use the
same skill I used on her... He says darkly.
Kindron smiles again and chuckles. Kindron: You're assuming I
haven't figured out your trick yet.
Belial: Oh? A bluff... YOU DON'T GET TO INTERRUPT MY FUN! He
yells as he vanishes again into the darkness.
However, Kindron turns immediately to his shadow and fires a
beam of laser energy through the shadow, forcing Belial to come
out of the darkness where he had disappeared, who now had a hole
in his shoulder where the laser had pierced him.
Belial fumes, holding his shoulder as it regenerates.
Belial: HOW?! You only saw it once! There's no way you could
have figured out a unique skill like mine that quickly! He says
       angrily.
Kindron chuckles. Kindron: I can. Because I've seen that trick
before. And you're no death wraith. He says darkly with an
       almost sinister smile.
Belial: Death wraith? What is that?! He says, not knowing what a
death wraith was since death wraiths were not common knowledge
       in this universe.
Belial readies his sword and gets ready. He then flies toward
Kindron with gusto as he goes to attack
Belial: So the darkness isn't an option... I can still kill yo-
He says as he tries to attack, but stops just before he reaches
       Kindron and stops talking.
Something had stopped him as he jumps back. He couldn't figure
it out, but his body had reacted without him realizing what he
       was reacting to.
Belial: What the... He says, looking at his trembling body as he
flies at what he thought was out of range of Kindron's attack
       range.
Kindron then swings Kokuyoha, in order to force the blood off
       the blade.
It was then that Belial felt his neck, feeling the cut on his
neck. Though small, he realized he had just taken a hit from
Kindron and hadn't even seen the attack.
Belial: When did he... When did he get the sword off the
ground?! He says to himself, not realizing when Kindron had
picked up Kokuyoha before Belial had attacked him. Not only had
Kindron gotten the blade off the ground, but had also attacked
Belial without Belial even seeing Kindron's attack.
       Kindron smiles darkly.
Kindron: Your reflexes are quite impressive for someone who's
combat ability isn't maxed out. That I will admit. He says to
Belial. If you had moved away even a second later, your head
would resting on the ground. He says to him.
Belial stops for a moment as his neck wound regenerates. Though
he didn't look afraid, his hands were trembling, from a fear he
       couldn't quite place.
Kindron: You are going to die here whether you like it or not.
Because even if you do manage to kill Freya... Then nothing will
stop you from suffering my wrath before I bring her back to
life. He then stops smiling. I would burn this world to the
ground for Freya if I had to in order to protect her. And you
have no say in how this battle ends. It's up to ME how this
battle ends, and it doesn't end well for you. He says almost
       sinisterly.
Meanwhile, Freya, hearing this, steps forward. She reaches for
       Kindron's hand, taking Kokuyoha.
Freya: Thanks, Teacher... But I'm good. I can fight now. She
says, regaining her composure. However, she was more serious
now, and not nearly as carefree as she was before. It was clear
that seeing Kindron act the way he was had gotten to her, and
she was trying to keep him out of the fight if possible.
Belial takes the moment to attack Kindron again using the
shadows as he disappears, in what he saw was a moment of him
being off guard while Freya was taking Kokuyoha.
However, Kindron proves that he was on guard, as he brings his
wrist up and parries the demon's sword. For a moment, his Black
Knight of Calamity armor appears as a spiritual silhouette
       around his body.
As Belial sees the Black Knight of Calamity armor, he flies back
in pure terror, as he recognizes the armor.
Belial: Was that... the Black Knight of Calamity?! Impossible!
NO! He says, in denial. He trembles as Kindron lowers his arm.
This can't be... How did the Black Knight of Calamity wind up
here of all places?! He says, suddenly realizing just how much
trouble he was in, and why Kindron had been so confident before.
Even the Goblin dungeon master had stopped in fear. He was
shaking as he clutched his magic staff like it was a life-line.
Kindron then smiles. Kindron: I guess you get it now... He says
as he turns to Freya. He then pets her head, which causes Freya
       to purr softly.
Kindron smiles, this time warmly toward Freya. Kindron: I'll
take over. He's too strong for you. So I'll take this one.
Freya puts her hand on Kindron's shoulder, and moves in front of
him. She takes Kokuyoha from Kindron's hand and stand in front
       of Kindron.
Freya: No. I have to finish this... We came here to protect the
town from the goblin invasion. But if I can't beat threats like
this on my own, I will never be strong enough to protect
everyone. What's the point of fighting if I can't protect the
people I care about. She says, determined.
Kindron chuckles to himself. Kindron: You amaze me sometimes. He
says jokingly. He then gets serious. But you're not going to be
able to kill him without something extra. He says to Freya.
Freya: I'll find a way. She says to Kindron.
Belial, on the other hand, was watching, not sure what to do. He
and the goblin dungeon master were still in shock at Kindron
being the Black Knight of Calamity, so they were the ones now
who were dealing with feelings of doom.
Kindron smiles and summons a silver hilted katana, that had a
silver leather wrapping around the hilt, and a pure silver
blade. The blade was almost ethereal as he hands it to Freya.
Kindron: I was going to save this. But I think you're going to
need this to kill that demon. So I'm giving you this sword,
mastery of its special skill, and dual wielding sword mastery.
       He explains to Freya.
Freya takes the sword, putting it on her belt alongside
Kokuyoha. She then draws the sword, admiring the silver flash of
the blade when light reflected off of it.
Freya: Cool... She says to herself. She then realizes she
instinctively knew how to wield two swords at once, as she holds
Kokuyoha next to the new sword. So... What's this sword's
special skill? She asks Kindron curiously.
Kindron: It's a holy sword called Shinso... It's special skill
is holy lightning along with being able to extend itself. He
       explains.
Freya gets starry eyed in admiration as she hears Kindron's
       explanation.
Freya: Wait... I get zappy-zap sword?! That is so cool!
Boom-boom and Zappy-zap! She says, which was her way of
nicknaming the blades since she used Kokuyoha for black
exploding flame slashes, and now had a holy lightning sword.
Kindron chuckles. Kindron: That's right. Holy power and dark
power are contradictory powers, but I think you'll handle it
       fine. He says jokingly.
She then hugs Kindron, being careful not to stab him by accident
with the swords (specifically the holy sword). Freya: Thanks
Teacher! She says happily before letting him go and standing to
face Belial, holding both swords ready. Now I'm ready to win!
       She says to herself.
Kindron just laughs to himself. Kindron: Alright. Unless
something else happens, I'll let you finish this one. He says as
he goes back to his spot to observe the fight.
Meanwhile, Belial readies himself, seemingly confident again.
However, it was mostly for show. He was confident he could beat
Freya, but Belial was starting to realize that Kindron was going
to defeat him if he fought Kindron head on.
Kindron leans against the wall, watching. He silently reflects
on how pure-hearted Freya is. All she wanted right now was to
protect the town where all the people she cared about lived. She
didn't want power just to get stronger, but had already thought
about how to use the power she was gaining.
Kindron reflected and thinks how he suspects that she will get
even stronger, and may become one of the strongest warriors in
       the world one day.
Meanwhile, Belial readies his sword as he tries to disappear
       into the shadows again.
However, having seen Kindron reveal the trick to Belial's shadow
teleportation, she stabs the holy sword and releases lightning
into it to force Belial back out of the shadow where he had
       originally disappeared.
Belial scoffs. Belial: So much for that... He says as he holds
       his sword ready.
Freya also stands ready, holding both swords in a combat stance.
Freya: You'll have to use a new trick. She says as she vanishes
       and moves to attack.
She swings both swords in quick succession, going on the
offensive. Belial blocks, but Freya now uses her speed to keep
him on the defensive, using attacks from both swords to keep
Belial from being able to get into an attack stance.
Belial: Great... The kitty has regained her confidence. He says
       to himself.
He then vanishes into the shadows. However, when Freya hits her
shadow, the attack doesn't do anything since that wasn't where
Belial was moving. She realizes her mistake quickly and turns
to see Belial had teleported to put some distance between them.
Belial then tries to use magic, summoning his dark magic.
Belial: Darkness Thunder Bolt! He calls out as he fires a
powerful blast of dark energy in the form of shadow lightning.
The blast of energy was immense, and stronger than Freya could
       handle on her own.
However, when the smoke cleared from the attack, Freya was
standing without having taken any damage.
This was thanks to one of the skills Kindron had shared with
her. Her body was covered in blue-ish purple armor, which had
formed on her skin. This skill was one Kindron got from an
Armorsaurus, which was a monster he had killed and taken the
power of. With its ability to generate near unbreakable armor,
Freya had used the skill to defend against the attack.
Belial growls as he fires another Darkness Thunder Bolt. But it
also doesn't hurt Freya as she uses the Armorsaurus skill to
block the attack. Even after a few more tries using darkness
blasts and other dark magic attack skills, Belial's strongest
magic wasn't able to penetrate Freya's defenses.
Freya then walks toward Belial with a smile as she readies both
       her swords.
However, before Freya could fire lightning at him, he activates
his trump card spell, which was complete power negation.
Freya realized she had lost her ability to use the Armorsaurus,
and lost her ability to attack with magic.
Kindron got ready to silently move from his spot, and was going
to step in to help Freya, as he felt like Freya wasn't ready to
       counter something like power negation.
Freya: Don't move, Teacher. I got this. She says confidently,
almost knowing Kindron was going to try to step in.
Belial looks to Freya. His normal confidence when fighting her
was gone. Belial: You can't possibly overcome my ability to
cancel out all skills. In this match, we're now even. Neither of
us can use skills. [/b]He says to Freya. He knew not to
underestimate Freya or Kindron at this point and even though he
thought he had the edge now, he wasn't going to take any chances
       with being overconfident.[/b]
Freya smiles to Belial. Freya: I see through your little trick.
You can only cancel out people below your level. And yeah, you
canceled out my skills. But I can still use martial arts and
sword skills. She then calls black flames using Kokuyoha and
holy lightning using Shinso. It also doesn't affect weapons...
So our weapons can still cast magic. She says with a smile.
Kindron was in shock, realizing that Freya had figured out
Belial's skill almost as quickly as he had. He took silent pride
in Freya now watching more closely and learning to understand
       her opponents.
Belial, somewhat scared, moves into the air away from Freya.
Belial: No... This can't be happening... I can't lose like this!
He says as he was about to cancel his skill so he could use his
magic to try and counter her.
However Freya vanishes and reappears in front of Belial in a
       burst of speed.
Belial tries to move back. Belial: How?! How could you get so
high up?! He says, realizing Freya should not have been able to
reach him with how high he was. But then he saw it before she
attacked. She was using a special skill called Air Leap to kick
off the air so she could essentially jump in midair.
Freya: Yoso Juhachiryusen (18 Headed Elemental Dragon Sword)!
She says as she attacks Belial with 18 strikes at the same time
(9 with each sword) using one of the highest level skills of the
Hiten Mitsurugi style that she modified to her own use. Each
strike used the magic of her swords to do extra damage.
Belial realized just before the attacks hit, and the swords
going through his chest destroying his mana crystal that Freya
was never negated in her skills... She deactivated her skills
when the power negation started, but had never actually showed
any trouble with using her skills after Belial activated it.
But it was her mentioning that his skill could only affect
people below his level stuck out in his mind... And then he
realized: Freya was now on his level and couldn't be negated
because she was at least at his level.
Belial: Killed... by a... black cat... He says as the attacks
       hit him.
Kindron on the other hand, admired something different about
that final strike. He smiles as he analyzed the attack.
Kindron: She took Kuzuryusen and used it with two swords... Not
only that, but she added her own elemental twist using the
blade's magic. Not many swordsman can even use that skill, let
alone modify it with their own skills. He says to himself. He
realized that Freya hadn't learned that skill from him, and had
combined different skills together on her own.
As Freya had landed her attacks, she falls back to the ground,
landing as she turns to face Belial whose body was starting to
disintegrate as his crystal had been destroyed. Though he didn't
completely disintegrate, a lot of his body had flaked away, and
he falls to the ground dead.
Kindron walks over to Freya. Kindron: Yoso Juhachiryusen? What
kind of person calls out their attacks? He says jokingly.
Freya: All great fighters call out their finishing moves. She
says cheerfully with a smile jokingly.
Kindron shrugs and then fires a blast of black flames to destroy
the goblin, who was trying to hide behind a stone from them.
Kindron: Alright... That should do it for this place. He says as
he dungeon shuts down, as the giant mana stone loses its energy
and goes into a dormant state.
Meanwhile, what was left of Belial's body was on the floor.
As Kindron and Freya celebrated their victory, the door behind
them opens and the other adventurers come rushing in, assuming
they were going to have to help Freya and Kindron.
The adventurers see what was left of Belial and the goblin
       dungeon master.
Adventurer: What? It's over? He says, realizing that they had
       won.
Kindron: Yeah. We took care of it. He says to the other
       adventurers.
Freya: Yeah... That greater demon was really strong. She says
       sarcastically.
The other adventurers started to cheer that the fight was over,
       and were excited.
Meanwhile, the head adventurer (who was a large red ogre named
Zureg), who worked as assistant manager for the Adventurer's
Guild, walked over to them. Zureg didn't share the happy mood,
as he walks over to Kindron and Freya, getting in their faces.
Zureg: We were supposed to stick together! Coming in here alone
was foolish! And against the rules of the Adventurer's Guild! He
       says angrily.
Kindron and Freya stopped, looking at each other as they
realized they'd have to face the consequences of leaving the
       other adventurers outside.
Zureg: Your punishment will be listening to the 1000 rules of
the Guild! Rule 1! He says, starting his recitation of the
rules. Though Kindron and Freya had broken the rules, it wasn't
as bad a fate as they could have been given...
But over the next hour, Zureg would scold Freya and Kindron as
they were forced to listen to him recite all of the rules of the
guild. By the time Zureg was done, it was obvious that Kindron
and Freya had suffered a fate worse than death as their eyes
were glazed over and they were barely conscious at this point
after Zureg was done reciting all the rules. And it was obvious
they never wanted to break the rules again...
As they walk, Kindron and Freya just waddle along, their eyes
practically blank after an hour of listening to Zureg.
       Freya: Teacher. She says blankly.
Kindron: Yeah? He says to Freya.
Freya: We're not gonna have to hear those rules after every
mission right? She says to Kindron.
Kindron: God, I hope not... Or I might stab myself with a holy
       sword. He says sarcastically.
Unbeknownst to Kindron and Freya, Freya gained two new titles
that day after defeating the Greater Demon.
The first title was: The Demon Hunter. A title that was granted
to her for killing a powerful demon ranked monster.
However, it was the second title that was more important, and
would shape the future of their world...
       That title: The Hero.
       End.
