After giving it some thought and a bunch of convincing to get
the approval from both Kanna and Jon, Zoe signed up for the
tournament under the Wasabi Warriors team. There, she meets
Jack, the demon martial artist Itto told her about along with
his friends/team and his sensei who happens to know Jon Talbain.
Zoe manage to get along with the group, even becoming friends
with them as she trains with them. Martial arts was one thing.
It's another thing when it comes to ki. Zoe has raw power but
her problem was harassing it better. Forming it to be a type of
tool. It took time and energy but Zoe was able to get the hang
of it. The day before the tournament, Jon gifted Zoe a blue sash
like cloth (She now wears it like this. The belt is darker.

and as a person. Zoe humbly accepted this and showed her
gratitude to the wolf man, even at his expense of public
affection in front of a bunch of goofballs.
The nexy day is the big day. The day of the tournament where the
lowest class up to A class participate in the tournament of
Makai fighters. Only the best of the best may enter. The
coliseum is packed with Makai residents from all over from the
classics to even the most weird. Meanwhile, as usual, the S
classes are reserved at the top with the best seats and service
along with their servants. The tournament is like a festival of
sorts with food, games and laughs. During the tournament after
going through the opening act and announcing the teams, the
tournament begins. Of course, things went as predicted with the
Wasabi team being one of them to advance along with
unfortunately the Black Dragons being another group who advanced
with at least four others. Now it's the next stage where it's a
two vs two match up.
First Announcer: And there you have it, folks! The end of the
first round! Of course, some things were as predictable as a bad
magic act in Las Vegas. Whoo, better luck next time, kiddies.
But now, we move on to the next round, a two v. two match up.
Two of the strongest members of their teams will face off
against others from different teams.

Among all the others at the tournament, there were a few that
stood out.
The first was Kindron, who was wearing a black cloak and white
mask, with his white mask being a bit creepier than he would
have liked, but he chose a design that he hoped wouldn't make
people suspicious of who he was. He also had a basic black
katana, wielding it so that he wouldn't wield a sword like his
own soul sword that everyone would recognize. Compared to
everyone who was exuding powerful auras, Kindron's aura was
completely suppressed so that no one would be able to sense how
strong he was. He had used shapeshifting to take a false
identity, going by the name Kirsch Xercis, but being called by
his title in the arena of "The Swordsman of Flames."
The other was a woman who, like Kindron, was holding back much
of her power. She had an icy presence from what little could be
felt, but it was obvious that she wasn't as good at restraining
her aura. This woman was named Aziel Yukionna who had the title
of "The Ice Empress", and she was dressed a bit more casually
than most of the fighters. She had a sword at her side.
Strangely, she didn't feel like an average Makai, and seemed to
have a holy aura that could be felt. While it was hard to tell,
she seemed different from everyone around her, and the few
people that talked about her believed she was from a lesser
family of makai who were close to humans at one time. This led
to everyone looking down on her, and most of them couldn't wait
to get into the ring to defeat her. But despite this, she kept
silent, and seemed to not care about people's opinions.
These would be two of the ones that would stand out. One thing
that Jon would tell Zoe was not to worry so much about the
people who exude power, but the ones who hold back their power,
because those are the ones with true strength. The fact that
Kindron and Aziel each stood on their own, not having a team
behind each of them, showed both their confidence, and their
power that they knew they were stronger than most of the people
in the tournament.
Up in the stands, Hei and his friend Yuri Jahad (the daughter of
Radu the Inferno), were watching, with Hei being mostly bored.
However, Yuri seemed amused by the fights, curious to see what
abilities the people competing had.

Zoe remain silent as she is deep in thought. She noticed the two
figures that stand out and remembered what Jon has told her
about the differences between those who hide their powers and
those who likes to show off. Zoe also pays most of the opponents
no mind since many of them see her as a C class human worth
beating up. She even overheard a few talk about eating her. Then
again, Zoe wasn't wearing a mask anymore so it doesn't really
matter. As she is deep in thought, Itto walks up to Zoe and
playfully pats her on the back.
Itto: You're brooding again.
Zoe: Pffft. Just deep in thought.
Itto: Chillax, Hela. You and Jack got this.
Zoe: I guess. How's your arm?
Itto: Been through worse but I'll recover. Much better shape
than the guy who did it. Didn't know you had it in you.
Zoe: It was in the moment. blush slightly in embarrassment.
Kanna Darkfire and Kamari cel Frumos walks over to where Hei and
Yuri are in the stands. Kanna sit by Hei with a hot dog and some
nachos while Kamari sit by Yuri with some chips and other snacks
to share.
Kamari: Hey, did we miss anything?

Kindron goes over to Zoe's group, noticing the others talking
down about Zoe's group. He walks up to Zoe and extends his hand
to shake hers. Kindron: I take it this is your first time here.
I thought I'd come and extend a friendly greeting. Don't let the
others badmouthing paint a bad picture for all of us. Not all of
us are idiots. He says to them.
Meanwhile, Aziel was keeping her eye on Kindron and Zoe's group,
more out of curiosity than anything. She was definitely weary of
Kindron though more than anything.
Yuri: No. Nothing interesting yet. Hopefully we'll get to see
some cool stuff in the next round. She says as Kanna and Kamari
show up.
Hei: We have a few people it seems are fighting alone. And
probably powerful people at that. A black swordsman I can't
sense anything from and a woman with the power of a family I'd
only heard rumors about. Right now, those two are the ones I'm
waiting to watch fight. He explains.

Zoe looks up to Kindron and hesitantly takes Kindron hand. She
shakes it awkwardly but firmly before letting go.
Zoe: Azhela. Yeah, I'm new here. And I know. That's why I'm with
these guys. She says with a light smile.
Kamari: I see. I'm just here to support my buds. Especially the
new human they got there.
Kanna: Yeah. She says softly, clearly due to Zoe being Kanna's
godkid and is a bit worried for her.

Kindron: I look forward to seeing what you can do in the
tournament. Hopefully we can try and have some fun. He says to
Zoe's group.
Hei: A human huh? I've been hearing rumors about a human running
around.
Yuri: Is your human friend strong? She asks them curiously.

Zoe: Same here.
Itto: Can't wait to see you kick ass as well, man.
Kamari: Yeah, she's pretty tough. Jon Talbain trained the girl
along with her hanging out with Itto, Jack and the others. turns
to Kanna Jon's your pal, right?
Kanna: Yeah. She says as she starts eating her hot dog.

Kindron: Well... It's almost time for my fight. I'd better get
going. He says to the group. If things go well, maybe we'll face
each other in the next round. He says before walking away.
Meanwhile, Aziel realized that she was set up to fight Kindron,
and realized it was time for her to get ready for her fight as
well.
Yuri: Oh really? She was trained by that old wolf (Jon)? I'm
going to have to fight her myself then to see what she can do.
She says with a smile.
Hei starts eating the food he had gotten, which was quite a bit
since he was a Darkfire and no matter the universe, Darkfires
are always big eaters.

Zoe: Okay. Good luck, sir.
Itto: Kick some ass!
Kanna almost choke on her food when Yuri said that. Belial,
Zoe's just a kid! If Hei pays attention, he can probably sense
Kanna being a bit protective of the human, which makes sense
since she told Qrow about Zoe due to a few of the Hazeldines
coming into Makai and making a scene.
Kamari: Whoa, easy, sis. She's like 15 or something. I would
like my new pal to be in one piece. She says jokingly

Kindron waves to them as he heads over to the entrance to the
arena. He sees Aziel walk up beside him. Kindron then turns to
her and shakes her hand. Kindron: Let's have a good fight. He
says to her.
Aziel, a bit surprised at the courteous behavior, compared to
everyone else hating her, shakes his hand back. Aziel: Yes. No
matter who wins, let's fight honorably.
Kindron smiles under his mask. Kindron: I already like you more
than most of the other people around here. And I can tell you're
strong. So don't hold back against me. He says to her.
Aziel: I'd worry about yourself. She says. Though her words were
cold, her actions seemed to show her amusement at Kindron not
being like the other makai she'd met so far.
Yuri: Oh relax... I won't break her or anything. I just want to
see what that wolf taught her. She says with a cheerful smile.
Though it was obvious that she was only interested in if Zoe
could amuse her. Whether it was by fighting her or watching Zoe
fight, Yuri didn't care as long as she was entertained.
Hei: Don't worry. I won't let Yuri near the kid until I'm sure
she can handle a spar with her. He says, reassuring them.
Yuri glares over to Hei. Yuri: You're no fun. She says, pouting.
Hei: And yet, you insist on hanging out with me for some odd
reason. Go bother someone else if it bothers you so much. He
says to her sarcastically.
One of the announcers, who was a fox makai named Koto, gets to
the podium, and starts calling out. Koto: It's time for the next
round of the tournament! She announces, getting everyone's
attention. Our next match-up is a special one! It seems we have
two lone wolves here ready to duke it out who didn't get a full
team. Let's just say that their power thus far has been nothing
to scoff at! They each dominated the early round and took out
their opponents in four on one fights. Now we get to see these
two opposing powers finally face off! She says in her announcer
voice. As Kindron and Aziel walk out to the ring, and get into
position, Koto begins talking again. Koto: On one side, we have
Kirsch Xercis, Rank A, and titled the Swordsman of Flames! They
say when his katana turns red hot, it can cut through anything!
And on the other side, we have the Ice Empress, Rank C, Aziel
Yukionna! Fire vs ice! Dark vs holy! Let's rumble! Both fighters
ready! She says, watching as Kindron and Aziel get ready,
putting their hands on their swords and getting into a sword
drawing stance.
While Koto was talking, Hei looks down at Kirsch, who was
actually Kindron. Hei: That man is quite skilled with flames
from what I hear... I heard he defeated his opponents easily.
But his power of fire is pretty basic... However, he turns to
look at Aziel, as he was more focused on Aziel. Hei: But...
She's the stranger one here. I didn't see the first round... So
I missed her battle. What you told me wasn't exaggeration... It
seems the Yukionna family isn't a myth after all. He says to
himself.
Yuri: Who's the Yukionna family? She asks curiously. That's not
a name I ever heard.
Hei: Maybe if you did more history study, you'd know. Your
father has a pretty big library if you just take the time to
read. He says to her before focusing on Aziel. It's said there
was a family of ice makai... The first member of the family was
a woman ice makai who fell in love with a human priest. They
lived peacefully in the Makai world, and the priest seemed
strong enough to ward off enemy makai. But the strange part is
that the priest's holy power was passed down in the family. The
Yukionna family is said to be powerful wielders of ice, but also
have strong holy power. They're among the few holy type makai.
Or at least, if you believed the old legends... Their existence
was supposed to be a myth. He then studies Aziel for a moment.
That woman is far stronger than a Rank C. There's no way she
should be below A rank. He says, partially to himself.
