Elseworld's Story: Metahuman Crisis

Our story takes place in a world that is focused more on the
superhuman category. And unfortunately, this world is going
through some sh*t. This is one of those normal humans vs
metahumans situations except that superhumans were originally
created through scientific means. The idea was first formed
during WWII in order to help even the odds against their
enemies. The plan didn't go as well when the scientist was
killed and his research was confiscated by US soldiers. Many
decades later, a secret facility called the Compound, used the
researched the scientist was trying to make and was able to
scientifically create a drug that would turn ordinary people
into metahumans. Unfortunately, that was just the beginning.
This first success led to inhumane experiments, mainly ranging
from children to teenagers since they're more adaptable and can
be controlled better. They kept the experiments a secret to the
public and manipulated both the media and the people, even going
as far as parents, both rich and poor selling their own children
to either wanting their kids to have a somewhat better future,
money, for sh*ts and giggles, lies and manipulation, etc.
Despite this, the product started out small until a bomb in
Central City blew up, killing many people but those who survived
ended up having superpowers. This prompt the facility to work
with ARGUS in secret to help them capture rogue metahumans in
exchange for protection and other scientific benefits to help
further their research. ARGUS even formed their own
Anti-Metahuman Task Force called Delta Raven, a large group of
highly trained mercenaries and ex military who's sole purpose is
to hunt down and takedown metahumans, whether dead or alive.
Now, I know what you guys are thinking. Okay, for starters,
supernatural creatures do exist but it's an afterthought. Well,
it's more in secret and they're pretty rare. Smart of them to do
so with metahumans having a huge ass target on their backs.
Speaking of them, yeah, obviously they're not fans of being
treated like freaks. So, they decided to fight back. They did
peaceful rallies, protests, and everything. Of course, things
escalated when a metahuman kid got brutally murdered by their
own parent via gunned down like a wild animal. That made things
escalate and made sh*t go sideways, hence superhumans rioting
and an all out war between normal humans and metahumans.
Unfortunately, this had even the kids who were being
experimented on to revolt and escape, leaving a bloody trail of
dead bodies. This led to Delta Raven having to also hunt down
the escaped "prisoners" (let's be real here, the kids are the
true victims). Speaking of which, this story will focus on one
of the teenagers, name Chelsea. She was one of the people who
survived the bomb in Central City and gained powers while her
parents died. She was living on the streets until a stranger
name Akiba, who was part of Delta Raven at the time, found her
and took her to a foster home. Her life was decent until puberty
hit and she manifested neon powers. This led to the staff
calling ARGUS and had her taken away where she was sent to the
secret research facility and experimented on along with others
just like her. When she turned 16, she and a few friends broke
out of the compound and had to kill in order to survive. She
felt horrible but deep down, she wanted to make her assailants
pay. This dark feeling is only the beginning for her. In order
to survive in this world, her heart needs to be harden. Because
at the end, she has to focus on her own survival and protect the
ones she cares about.
Story:
It was another day, another crappy nightmare. Chelsea woke up
with a start, cold sweat dripping down the side of her face and
her heart pounding hard and fast. After taking a deep breath,
she glance over at the clock on her nightstand. 11:22 AM. Great.
Her nightmares are making her wake up earlier. Sighing, she
reluctantly drag herself out of bed and went to the bathroom to
clean herself up. Once cleaned, she walks out and got dressed.
As she was getting dressed, she noticed her roommate Vivian
Langston still in bed knocked out. 'I wonder what time she got
back', was the thought that came to Chelsea's mind. Well, at
least her shout didn't wake Vivian up, that's the last thing she
needs, especially for her wolf senses. Oh yeah, Vivian has
animal like powers. She can even turn into a wolf and a wolfman.
Well, wolf girl. The scientists were having loads of fun
figuring her out. Her parents were part of a clinic who were
tricked into handing Vivian over, believing that she will be
enrolling into a school. Although true, they just left out the
f*cked up experiments. Chelsea heads out of the room, closing
the door behind her while making sure not to wake up Vivian.
Heading downstairs, she walks toward the kitchen and grabs a
nectarine while mumbling good morning to the other early birds
who are wide awake.
Lucia: Now, this is a sight. You're up earlier than usual. She
says jokingly
Chelsea: Yeah, nightmares will do that for ya. She mumbles
sarcastically as she starts peeling the nectarine
Kasey: Heh. Who knows? They'll actually make you get up at 7 am!
Chelsea: I swear to God if it does, I'm buying a damn
dreamcatcher.
Kasey: Why not have Lucia do it?
Lucia: You know those things are a bunch of bull, right? And
even if it's not, I don't have the proper materials to even make
one. Especially due to circumstances at the moment.
Chelsea: Yeah, I guess.
Kasey: Hey, once we get enough money, we'll be able to move to
Canada. I got folks over there who're able to lend us a hand.
Chelsea was about to say something until she notice a small fire
in the fire place goes off. The flames turn pink, stating that
Chelsea is to be summoned into her room before going out.
Frowning, Chelsea discard the peels into thrash and heads over
to Amani's room, eating the nectarine as she does so. Once fully
out of earshot, Kasey turns to Lucia.
Kasey: Well, that's something.
Lucia: No sh*t. Especially after what happened last week.
Kasey: It's not her fault.
Lucia: She hesitated to kill that butcher.
Kasey: She knew the person. She meant something to her. And the
person didn't shoot her either. Think about it. Those two had
some kind of history together. Who knows? Maybe the chick will
one day help us.
Lucia: Huh. Now who's being delusional? gets more serious We all
know what trust leads to. The stories are different but the
results are the same. The only thing we can do for now is try to
survive.

"Surround them!"
"Where the f*ck is our back up?!"
SWAT teams were trying to pin down Chelsea and the group who
were trying to save a group of scared metahuman kids so they
don't go back to the Compound. Luckily, the teens are wearing
mouth masks and hoodies to conceal their identities. Since the
kids are pinned, both Amani and Chelsea are at the front lines,
while the rest of the group are keeping the children safe.
Chelsea: Damn! For some basic asswipes, these guys aren't half
bad!
Amani: curses in Arabic and turns to the group Get the kids out
of here now! We'll hold them off!
Lucia: What?!
Kasey: Are you nuts?!
Amani: Just do it! Those kids are top priority! turns to Chelsea
You ready?
Chelsea: grins Let's kick some ass!
With that, the duo leap into action and start fighting the SWAT
team while Lucia use her magic creates a portal so the kids can
head toward their safe destination since there are very few in
the country like it so they're not gonna waste anytime. Also,
yeah, Lucia is one of the many, if not few metahumans who can
use magic. It's an oddity for the scientists since magic doesn't
obey any type of logic. Meanwhile, Kasey has the ability to
manipulate smoke. During the fight, the two use their weapons
(Chelsea has a retractable staff and Amani with a scimitar) to
battle the SWAT team and kill them, even going as far as to
brutally them. As looked down as it is, they were bred to be
killing machines. Plus, they're going to kill them and those
younger than them. They don't see them as kids. They see them as
freaks. So they'll act like freaks in order to protect. During
the fight, Amani manage to behead a couple before cutting
someone's shooting arm off along with half of the weapon before
stabbing the other SWAT in the throat. Chelsea finish the one
with the missing arm by cracking his skull with her staff,
killing him. She the use her staff to catapult herself forward
and kick one guy in the chest, crushing his ribs while using her
staff to deflect the incoming bullets, giving Amani the chance
to leap over her and bring her sword down, cleaving a SWAT team
member in half while killing the rest of them. The fight went
out pretty well until two members of Delta Raven shows up. One
of them is wearing a full helmet like mask while the other is a
brown skinned man who's wearing a mouth mask and is wielding
dual scimitars. Amani almost immediately recognized the man and
gave Kasey a hand signal to go on without them. Although
hesitant for a second, Lucia manage to pull Kasey into the
portal and close it behind them despite Kasey's protests which
are also cut off.
Amani: Take on the guy with the helmet. I got this sick Ya Ibn
el Sharmouta (son of a b*tch in Arabic).
The man Amani is talking about scornfully is Ishmael, a highly
trained assassin who specialized in killing metahumans and the
uncle of Amani. Chelsea knows that this man is cold blooded but
she has heard rumors of Amani being responsible of her mother's
death, which is anything but true but that's her story to tell.
The two exchange glares before they begin fighting. Chelsea was
so distracted that she narrowly dodged a punch but got kicked
back a foot away. Collecting herself, Chelsea starts fighting
the stranger. Although Chelsea is doing pretty well, she can
tell that the person is a master of CQC to the point of parrying
and countering nearly every move. They're even good with stick
fighting. It was getting good until the DR soldier starts to get
the upper hand which lead to her getting pinned to a wall with
her right arm behind her back. Chelsea struggles to break free
until from the corner of her eye, she notice flames combusting,
forcing Ishmael to try to put the flames out before being
tackled by an enraged Amani.
Chelsea: F*ck it.
Chelsea makes herself intangible, phase through her opponent and
manage to overpower them by flipping them over and pinning them
on the ground. Thank God for super strength. During the
struggle, the DR member accidentally removes the mouth mask that
is covering the bottom half of Chelsea's face, causing the
teenager to stumble back in shock and fear. She tries to
recollect herself again until the person spoke. Although
muffled, Chelsea recognized in horror that the person is Alexis
Cantu, the woman who was with Akiba when he took her into the
orphanage. She is a friend and co-worker of Akiba from what she
can remember. The two are too shocked to speak for a moment
until Alexis finally speaks.
Alexis: Kid? What happened to you?
Chelsea: puts her mask back on You guys brought me to the wrong
people.
Her words were filled with betrayal. Before Alexis can ask what
the girl meant, the two hear more sirens. Armani rush over to
Chelsea and shake her a little to snap her back to reality.
Amani: Yo, snap out of it! We gotta go, now!
Chelsea blink away some tears before agreeing with a small nod.
The two then run off the opposite direction by scaling the walls
up to the rooftops using their powers and begin running off,
leaving the two Delta Raven members behind. Alexis desperately
calls out to Chelsea, pleading her to wait but it was too late.
As reinforcements comes over to aid Ishmael of his wounds, one
of them comes over to Alexis.
DR Soldier: Hey, are you okay? What happened?
Alexis: Nothing. Where's Akiba?
DR Soldier: He's doing a infiltration mission. Why?
Alexis: When he comes back, I need to speak to him immediately
in private. It's important.
DR Soldier: Right away.
The soldier leaves as Alexis looks up at the sky. God, what have
they done? Meanwhile, the two teenage metahumans continue to
jump from rooftop to rooftop, running as fast as possible. No
matter how tired or beat up they are, slowing down means death
or worse. And yet, Chelsea still has tears in her eyes as she
runs off. After all these years, she sees that woman and yet she
can't bring herself to kill her. That woman sounded shocked,
hell she was concerned and worried about her! She's not like the
other normals who only looked at her with fear, hatred and
disgust along with Akiba. But they're with Delta Raven. They're
enemies toward her kind. A threat. They will shoot to kill if
given a chance. She can't let them have that chance. Even if by
some other chance, they could've been a family.
