       )
This story goes back to the world of Makai, the world of strange
creatures that live in the Makai Realm of their universe. Today,
our story focuses on one of the ruling families, the Darkfire
family, a family of demons who rule their own section of the
Makai Realm alongside seven other families, each running their
own part of the Makai Realm.
In this story, this story follows Qrow's son, Kindron, who had
been in training for years to become the next head of the
Darkfire family. Not many in the Makai realm don't know the name
of Kindron Darkfire, who is known for his power and energy being
far above that of normal Makai as well as him being the next
head of the Darkfire Family after being named Qrow Darkfire's
       successor.
Our story follows Kindron on one of his adventures, traveling
the Makai realm in his free time as a bounty hunter. And during
his travels during this journey, heralded the start of a new
       conflict.

Hei: So... Brother sneaked out again, did he? Hei says coldly,
       leaning back in his chair.
Darkfire Servant: Well... He did finish all the work for the
day. So it's not like he left work undone or something.
Hei: As usual. He says before sighing. Kindron spends more time
out of this castle than in it. At least he isn't abandoning his
       work though.
Darkfire Servant: That's true, but he doesn't realize what could
happen out there. What happens if he dies out there or just
decides to never come back one day?
Hei scoffs. Hei: Kendrix would love that... He says to himself,
silently thinking about how Kendrix was always challenging
Kindron to prove himself, but failed to beat Kindron each time.
Darkfire Servant: What about you? Wouldn't you be the next one
in line as his twin brother?
Hei: No way I'd take over for the old man. I have no interest in
ruling a kingdom, not even for the family. I prefer freedom...
       Just like brother does.
Before the Darkfire servant could respond, another servant comes
       in.
Servant: Lord Hei... Your father requests your presence. He
       says, bowing politely to Hei.
Hei sighs. Hei: Fine. He says simply as he walks across the
       hall.
He walks across the castle corridor, looking out the window at
the sky above. Even as big as the castle was, it was hard for
him to not feel trapped at times. Having to stay and help the
family was something he had no problem doing, but he wanted to
just leave and do his own thing rather than being stuck in the
castle. He often wondered what would have happened if he'd
become the next in line for succession instead of Kindron, and
just how much more trapped he would feel.
As he enters his father's room, he looks to Qrow, who was laying
on the bed coughing. Qrow looks over to Hei.
Hei: You sound pretty bad, old man. He says to Qrow as he walks
       over to Qrow.
Qrow: I heard Kindron sneaked out again? He says to Hei.
Hei: Yeah. He's not as good at it as I am. People actually
notice when he's gone. He says bitterly.
Qrow chuckles softly. Qrow: That's because everyone's watching
him. No one's watching you so you can sneak around all you want.
Hei looks to Qrow as he goes over and sits down at Qrow's
bedside. Hei: Was that your plan? Kindron as the new head of the
family when you die, Kendrix ruling the gangs of the criminal
underworld with Black Sun, and me in the shadows specializing in
assassination and information gathering for them?
Qrow: I wish I could take credit for that plan. But honestly,
things just fell into place to let that happen. I was just lucky
that I could manage to groom each of your unique talents to
their fullest and help you find ways to use those talents.
Hei looks over to Qrow, who covered his mouth with a cloth when
he started coughing again. When Qrow pulls the cloth from his
mouth, both Qrow and Hei notice the blood.
Qrow: Hei. I don't know how much longer I've got. Rumors are
already starting to circulate about my condition. Soon, enemies
of the family will rise up against us. And I will not be strong
enough to fight them off. Thankfully, Kindron is more than
capable of taking on any threats that may come up. He's stronger
than all of us. He will not fall prey to the same tricks I
have... But he will need you and Kendrix if he is to keep
       everyone together. He says weakly.
Hei: Hard to believe the legendary lord of the Darkfire family
is reduced to this mess. I never knew Dovelthain did so much
damage to you all those years ago. He says sarcastically,
       crossing his arms.
Qrow: Don't act like you won't be happy when I'm gone, brat. He
says sarcastically to Hei. You've wanted this for years.
Hei: I only wanted to beat you, old man... To prove I was a
better Black Reaper than you. I can't do that if you die. He
       explains with a soft scowl.
Qrow chuckles to himself. Qrow: You're still young, Hei. But you
will one day surpass me. With experience. You are already
strong. You only need wisdom to temper that strength... Few can
match your willpower. He says softly.
Hei turns to Qrow, somewhat surprised to get a complement. Hei:
I thought only your favorite son (Kindron) got your compliments.
Qrow chuckles, somewhat painfully. Qrow: I deserved that. I have
tended to favor Kindron, and some of you got left out.
Especially Zakai. I only hope the Kruetz family has treated him
well... And I hope Kindron can one day welcome him back into the
family. He then smiles and leans back against the headboard of
his bed. Your mother could never accept him, though. Because he
was born to her... He says, stopping short. Not many knew it,
but Qrow was talking about Kina Kruetz, a woman Qrow used to be
in love with before they separated due to the Kruetz family and
the Darkfire family not getting along. Even Raven hated Kina
since Raven thought (correctly) that Qrow loved Kina more than
her. I could never forgive Raven for how she treated Zakai. And
though she said it was for training, she always took her
frustrations out on you and Kindron. While treating Kendrix like
       a prince.
Hei: Kindron is your favorite... But Kendrix was always her
favorite. She always admired the manipulative little snake
(Kendrix). Probably because he took so much after her. He says
       somewhat sarcastically.
Qrow: Indeed. Kendrix is strong and smart. But he does whatever
it takes to gain power, and I fear that one day he will become a
threat to our family as well if he ever decides to start
       compromising our morals.
Hei: I fear that too. He then leans back. So what now?
Qrow: I will keep my condition secret as long as I am able.
Thankfully, Kindron has done a good job of keeping things
running without me, so I haven't had to show myself in public as
much. People just chalked it up to me training him to be the
next head of the family, which is technically true.
Hei: Kindron is too soft to be a ruler.
Qrow: You're not wrong. But that's why the people in our kingdom
support him, because he's compassionate and looks out for the
people. He then looks to Hei. It was originally supposed to be
you, you know. Kindron shows too much mercy, but Kendrix is too
manipulative. You were the one I originally wanted because you
were the perfect spot in between. You are a spitting image of
       me, after all.
Hei: Yeah, I would never rule. People would call me the Dark
Lord Hei of Castle Darkfire, and probably consider me the next
major villain of the Makai realm... He says with a shrug. But
between Kindron and Kendrix, I would prefer Kindron rules the
       family.
Qrow: He understands my ideas about power better than anyone
else. To never oppress or use your powers to hurt innocent
people. Always remember what I've always told you kids: Those
who oppress others are not strong. They prove their weakness by
letting power control them. The strong have no need to prove
       their strength to anyone.
Hei: Kindron and I have always lived by that.
Qrow: And that is why you kids are truly strong... He says,
       looking out the window.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the Darkfire's territory
A lone figure in a black and gold cloak and a black wolf mask
walks through town. The figure is none other than Kindron
Darkfire, who uses his disguise to hide his presence. As Kindron
walks, he notices a crowd around the market. He goes to
investigate the commotion, only to find a gang known as the Rag
Tag Gang causing trouble knocking over food stalls and other
       market place structures.
Kindron: They're all low level makai. I thought they'd be
stronger. He thinks to himself as he studies each of them for a
moment. However, they were all A rank or higher, which were
actually strong by normal standards. It showed just how strong
Kindron was compared to other Makai creatures.
Kindron looked as though he was going to walk by them as he
walks behind one, but stops as one of the demons grabs his
       shoulder.
Demon: Hey... We didn't give you permission to leave. You have
to pay tribute to us if you want to leave here.
Kindron: You want tribute? I'll let you leave with your lives if
you walk away now and never threaten these people again. He says
simply, his voice muffled by his black wolf mask. He turns to
look at the demon who was the boss of the gang, with the red
glow of Kindron's eyes seeming to shine through the eye holes of
       the mask.
Boss: Oh? That sounds like a threat. You've got some stones on
you! He says with a smile.
The makai of the Rag Tag Gang all surround Kindron, who just
looks around silently at the group, as though analyzing each
       one.
Kindron: This is your last warning. You low levels are picking a
fight you can't win. He says to them, which only angers them
       more.
Boss: Low level?! We're A rank demons, a*shole! The only ones
higher than us are those S rank jerks up in the castles! He
motions to the other gang members. Hey guys... Rumor is there
was a kid in a cloak and mask not long ago that turned out to be
human... Maybe we should see if this one is a human. Though,
we'll tear him to pieces regardless! He says as he raises his
       weapons with a laugh.
One of the demons looks to the leader and leans over. Demon:
Boss... A thought occurs. This guy is calling us low levels and
we don't know anything about him. Shouldn't we take a moment and
analyze him? That's not the aura of someone who's just taking on
opponents for the first time. I barely feel his aura, and I
don't think it's because he's weak. He says to the boss of the
       group.
Kindron: At least one of you has some sense. He says as he hears
the demon try to talk down their boss.
However, the boss cuts down the demon with his sword, not caring
       for de-escalating the situation.
Boss: There's no room for weakness in this gang! He says as the
dead body of the demon falls to the ground. KILL HIM! He yells
to the others who get ready to attack Kindron.
Kindron: Pity... That demon had a future. He says, looking at
the demon who was just killed, as though lamenting that the
demon was dead. He then turns to the other group. Unfortunately,
       you lot don't.
Boss: Enough talk! He says as the group rush Kindron to attack
       him.
Kindron: I warned you... He says, raising his hand up in a slow
motion. Suddenly, the gang members all fall to their knees and
drop their weapons, as though being choked by an invisible
force. They clasp their throats, trying to struggle against the
unseen force that was choking them. However, it doesn't take
long before all the demons soon stop struggling as the life
leaves their eyes as there is an audible snap in all of their
necks as the force of power finally crushes their throats. As
Kindron turns, he notices each of the demons fall to the ground
       dead.
Kindron: Disappointing, but not unexpected. If you were truly
strong, you wouldn't need to prove yourself. He says to the dead
       gang.
Kindron motions to one of the shop keepers. Kindron: Take these
corpses as proof of their defeat. And use the reward money to
pay for repairs to the food stalls. He says, knowing there was a
bounty on the Rag Tag Gang's capture, dead or alive, due to the
       trouble they caused.
The old shopkeeper comes over, using a cane to walk as others
grab the bodies and carry them off. Shopkeeper: Thank you, Lord
Kindron. You saved us. Your generosity to help the common people
is admirable. He says, bowing politely, which catches Kindron
off guard that the shopkeeper recognized him despite his
disguise and his aura being suppressed.
The child comes over and hugs Kindron as thanks for saving them,
       and Kindron hugs them back.
After the child hugs him, Kindron then turns and looks at the
shopkeeper. Kindron: I'm only looking for strong opponents to
fight... Saving people isn't my priority. He says sarcastically
       as he walks away.
The Shopkeeper waits till Kindron is out of earshot before
       talking again.
Shopkeeper: Your words say one thing, but your actions say
another. I see through you, young lord. You say it's to fight
strong opponents, but you always stop to interact with the
people you save, and you always appear to take on opponents who
are always causing problems and threatening the common folk. Not
to mention donating your reward for the bounty on their heads to
the shops to rebuild. You may fight to find a strong opponent,
but you also fight to protect the people. And that is why the
       common people support you.
The child goes over the shopkeeper.
Child: That's him? The next head of the Darkfire Family? Is it
true that they were going to make a new class of Makai
classification to put him in above S rank? He asks the
       shopkeeper.
Shopkeeper: Indeed they were. The man that makes even S rank
Makai tremble in fear... He's the strongest demon to be born in
many generations. Some are even calling him the reincarnation of
       a demon god...
Elsewhere, Kindron makes it to the top of a building, and then
       sighs.
Kindron: Great. It seems mostly everyone's figured out my Wolf
Mask identity now... I guess there's no point wearing the mask.
So much for the mysterious bounty hunter persona to hide my
identity. He says to himself as he takes off his wolf mask. He
then throws it aside, letting it fall on down to the ground
below, with the scene almost symbolic of him discarding the Wolf
       Mask identity completely.
       Later:
It was another day at Demon Academy, an academy in the Makai
Realm that gave Makai their education and taught them how to use
       their power.
However, a week ago, a large metal spherical structure appeared
over one of their buildings, which seemed to be some kind of
space-time anomaly. The metal sphere seemed to surround the
building and had what looked like a red spherical crystal on the
front. The sphere seemed to block all access to the building,
and no one had been able to do anything about it.
A lone teacher was watching the metal orb structure, which
seemed to not be hurting anyone as it wasn't doing anything
other than just cutting off the area inside from the outside
       world.
This lone teacher was Zenrael, a demon Makai creature who had
infiltrated the school. He watches the orb with a smile,
thinking about his plans and how much surprise the people were
       in for.
Not far away, there was a girl with candy next to her, who was
known as the assassin, Shia Valtera. The girl was only a
teenager, but she clearly had experience in combat due to her
being able to move without making any sound. In addition, the
girl seemed to enjoy the chaos around her, and had no problem
killing anyone so that she could take their blood and sacrifice
it to the demon within her.
Zenrael looks over to Shia, who was eating candy.
Zenrael: So... Anything to report? He asks Shia.
Shia: Not really. Other than one of the teachers called some
outside help to deal with the sphere.
       Zenrael: Which teacher?
Shia: Dr. Yosef. She apparently called a bounty hunter who's
known for taking out strong enemies to try and break the sphere.
Zenrael chuckles softly as he goes back to look out the window.
Zenrael: Figures she'd be the one to get involved, though I
didn't expect her to hire someone else to do the job for her.
She's usually the type to handle things herself. But it doesn't
matter... It's impossible to destroy the sphere now that its
been connected to- Zenrael is stopped in his tracks as he feels
a rumbling of force and sees a shock wave coming off the sphere.
To Zenrael's horror, the sphere cracks and falls apart.
Shia watches the sphere fall apart and the pieces hitting the
ground with small earthquakes, even shaking the building they
were in, though Shia and Zenrael barely budge.
Shia: No no, please continue. You were saying something about it
being impossible to destroy the sphere? She says jokingly,
       mocking Zenrael.
Zenrael: That's... impossible! He says as he closes one eye and
activates his God's Eye in his other eye, an eye that let him
focus on other areas and see areas that he focused on. He looks
at the area around the sphere, seeing the building it appeared
around now visible. He focuses his God's Eye until he found what
he was looking for, the person who destroyed the sphere. Who is
       that?!
Shia smiles and looks to Zenrael. Shia: Want me to kill him?
Zenrael: Not yet. I'm going to watch him for now. He can't stop
us. I can see the connection to the Realm of Death. The building
has been transformed enough that it's become a passage to that
realm. Wait... He says as he studies the man further. Though to
the untrained eye, it just looked like Zenrael was standing
there with one eye closed and the other eye staring at nothing.
Zenrael watches as the man wipes the dust off his cloak and
       cracks his knuckles.
Shia: What is it? Enough with the suspense! She says
       impatiently.
Zenrael: I heard rumors. But I didn't think he was that strong.
The man... It's Kindron Darkfire. There was a rumor that he was
working as a bounty hunter in his spare time.
Shia chuckles and claps her hands. Shia: Oh? I've been wanting
to fight him. He sounds like so much fun! I can't wait to drink
       his blood! She says excitedly.
Zenrael: Even I couldn't destroy the sphere... It should have
been impossible while it was bridging two dimensions. He says as
he analyzes Kindron and the remains of the sphere, ignoring
       Shia's cheerful fun-loving personality.
Shia: Let me go kill him already! I'll be back quick! She says
       as she stands.
Zenrael: No! I already have him there... He'll deal with
Kindron. You're no match for him. He says, not mention the name
of the "him" he was talking about.
Shia: Oh... That's depressing. Can I watch at least? She says to
Zenrael as she vanishes and reappears behind him. She grabs his
shoulder so she could share vision with Zenrael's God's Eye.
The two watch closely, watching Kindron as he made his way into
the building, which had now been changed. The outside looked
like some kind of grotesque creature, as Kindron seemed to enter
what looked like a large mouth without a care in the world.
Kindron, though, turns back and looks with a ringing sound as
his eyes change, almost like he was staring right at Zenrael,
with glowing red snake-like pupils that were much stronger
glowing than usual with Kindron's eyes black rather than white
like normal, causing Zenrael and Shia to jump back in surprise
with Shia falling on her back. Zenrael then shut off his God's
Eye, as a means to hope Kindron couldn't track the vision back
       to him.
Shia: Did... Did he see you?! She says, surprised as she gets up
       from having fell over.
Zenrael: It's true. He has the Demon Eyes! Damn it! How did
Olivier get HIM of all people?! How could she have found the
exact person to be a threat to me specifically when she doesn't
even know I'm involved?! He mutters angrily.
Shia: He's even better than I thought! Now I gotta find him and
       fight him. She says excitedly.
Zenrael: He will soon be eliminated... He has to be... He says
to himself, hoping his top mercenary would be able to stop
Kindron. However, his words made him sound as though he was no
longer sure of his plan, as though Kindron's appearance had
suddenly made Zenrael unsure if he could actually accomplish his
       goals.
       Meanwhile.
After destroying the sphere and using his demon eyes, Kindron
realized the eyes watching him were no longer watching him.
Kindron then deactivates his demon eyes, letting his black and
       red eyes return to normal.
Kindron: I guess that scared them off. He says with a shrug as
       he walks into the building.
However, once inside, Kindron notices what looks like a river
with skeleton knights swimming around in the water.
Kindron then walks onto the water, using his energy to walk
along the surface of the water.
The skeletons come up to him, but rather than trying to kill him
like they were supposed to, they seem to shake and clatter as
though it were a language they were speaking to Kindron.
Kindron: I'm here at the request of someone who wanted me to
save the school from whatever... this... is. He says to the
       skeletons, responding to them.
The skeletons shake again, clattering bones as though speaking
       again.
Kindron: I will help you rest. You were disturbed from your
slumber, and forced to work for someone using you to their own
ends. He says to them, ready to use his death powers to release
       them from the skeleton bodies.
However, he stops as they shake and clatter again.
Kindron: You want to help me? Well then... I guess you can start
by finding me a boat I can use. How's that? It will let me save
a little energy and focus so I don't have to walk on the water.
He says to the skeletons, trying to come up with something for
the skeletons to do so they could feel useful.
The skeletons clatter and shake happily as they start swimming
into the cavern, as though happy they could help the one that
was going to free them from their forced servitude.
Suddenly, a voice comes from inside the tunnel.
Voice: That's impossible! How could you take control of the
       skeletons?!
Kindron: I have authority over the dead. It's part of my Hades
unique skill. I can override anyone's control of the dead and
free them. Not only is my Hades skill a darkness type ability,
but it also controls the power of death. He says to the voice.
Second Voice: How could you have such a power? A second voice
says, also speaking from further in the cave.
First Voice: It doesn't seem possible. He's from the Makai
realm. How could he have the power to override our control? This
       is our realm!
Kindron: You're foolish to think that others cannot find ways to
beat you at your own game just because they're not like you. He
       says to the voices.
The skeletons bring Kindron a boat, and have a rope tied to them
as they pull the boat along. As Kindron jumps on it, the
skeletons start to swim and carry the boat into the tunnel.
Kindron stands on the boat with his arms crossed, ready for an
attack at any time. And it proves wise as two beings try to
attack him as he has to jump when two opponents destroy the boat
       he was standing on.
Kindron then uses his wings to float in the air, flapping his
wings and using the heat from his black flames coming off his
wings to stay in the air.
Kindron looks to the two creatures before him, which appeared to
be undead. They were zombie like makai, who seemed to be makai
corpses that were reanimated by whatever death realm they were
       in.
Kindron: So... You two are the voices I heard earlier I take it.
       He says simply.
Undead 1: That's right. We're here to beat you! You cannot
       trespass in our realm!
Undead 2: Prepare to die. They say simply.
Kindron floats down until he was just above the water's surface.
Kindron: Very well. Let's see what you've got. He says, being
cautious. He knew something was strange about where he was, so
he didn't want to be caught off guard.
As the two demons zip around, they try to jump kick Kindron, who
just catches both of their kicks. Kindron: Wow... Is that it? He
says with a frown. I thought you'd be stronger. He says as he
uses purifying darkness on the two.
The two scream as their bodies fade away almost instantly, with
the purifying darkness completely destroying their bodies.
Kindron: Well that was disappointing. He says as he floats over
to the skeletons. Sorry guys. Looks like I'll have to fly the
rest of the way. Thanks though. He says as he uses his power to
release them from their undead state, causing them to fade away.
Even though the skeletons were being purified, they seemed happy
about it, and don't seem to resist Kindron's purification.
Kindron then flies down the tunnel. Along the way, he takes out
a number of enemies, all of which seemed to be undead types or
shadow types. However, none are a match for Kindron, and Kindron
barely breaks a sweat taking down any enemy that comes his way
as he flies down the tunnel.
Kindron: The tunnel is larger than the building it should be
in... There must be some kind of space-time
compression/expansion going on. He thinks to himself.
As he flies down the tunnel, he soon comes to an open area where
the water ends, and reaches a large room of what appears to be
bones. Kindron then lands on the ground.
As he lands, he smiles. Kindron: So... I'm guessing you're
another enemy huh? You're different from everything else in this
realm. He says, almost to himself.
However, who Kindron is speaking to would be revealed when a
mercenary in a black and white outfit, carrying a large sword,
jumps down from above. His suit covered him from head to toe,
even having a mask/helmet over his face. The only hint of the
person underneath were the mercenary's amber eyes and his
       strange aura.
Mercenary: That is correct. I am tasked with stopping you from
going any further. He says, having a deep voice, and appearing
       confident, but also calm.
Kindron: Oh? You're confident. He says sarcastically.
Mercenary: I'd ask your name, but it's not going to matter for
       long. You'll die soon enough.
Kindron smiles. Kindron: This is going to be fun. He says,
analyzing the mercenary as Kindron summons his black demon
sword, Kuroigetsu (Black Fang) and draws it.
Mercenary: You assume I will be easy prey because my power
doesn't feel strong. But you are mistaken. He says, analyzing
       Kindron.
       Kindron just chuckles in response.
Kindron: Actually, it's your analysis that's wrong... I know
you're not weak. You see, I'm not happy because I think you're
weak. He then gets an almost sinister smile. I can tell you're
suppressing your power. That's why I'm excited. You're not like
the others I've fought. The weak try to intimidate with their
auras to try and make people think they're stronger. The mark of
strength isn't the release of power, but how much you restrain
yourself. And you're stronger than anyone I've fought so far. I
can tell... He says as he holds his sword toward the mercenary
       with an almost excited expression.
The mercenary looks to Kindron for a moment, as though studying
       him.
Mercenary: On second thought... I've decided I will ask your
name, warrior. He says softly after hearing Kindron's
explanation, as though he had a change of heart about his
       opinion on Kindron.
Kindron: It's Kindron. Kindron Darkfire. He responds with a
       smile, readying his sword.
Triton lifts his large sword and points it to Kindron.
Triton: I will remember it. You can call me Triton Flashvolt. He
says, pointing his sword toward Kindron, holding it with one
       hand despite its large size.
Kindron gets ready. Kindron: I'll remember it. He says, almost
       mirroring Triton's response.
The two dash toward each other and strike when their swords
clash. Despite the mercenary's sword being much larger, it
seemed almost like the mercenary was as fast as Kindron with his
sword swings. And though Kindron and his sword may have looked
weaker in comparison, Kindron matched every blow strike for
       strike.
The two seemed almost even as they swing their swords,
countering and parrying each other in a flash of blades that
sent shock waves through the room, and rattled the foundations
of the large room. The flash of blades was barely visible as
they fought, and soon their battle escalates as they start
       jumping and sidesteping each other.
Triton: You easily counter my strikes... You're predicting every
move I make. He says to Kindron as they clash swords again, this
time in a struggle to overpower each other.
Kindron smiles. Kindron: You're strong, but a blade that large
is limited in how you can swing it. Your attacks are easy to see
when you are so limited on options.
Triton: I see... Then I have to make sure you can't dodge my
attacks even if you can predict them. Triton says before he
vanishes, leaving Kindron to stumble forward when Triton is no
       longer struggling against Kindron's blade.
Kindron barely dodges when Triton throws his sword at Kindron,
with Kindron's dark energy aura flaring as the blade made
contact with the aura protecting Kindron. If it hadn't been for
Kindron dodging, it was possible the aura would have not been
enough to stop the force of the attack.
Kindron then moves in to attack Triton, believing Triton to be
       vulnerable without his sword.
However, Triton kicks Kindron in the gut hard which caused him
to drop his sword, sending Kindron flying back and hitting the
wall. Kindron coughs up blood as he hits the wall hard, coughing
       up blood.
Kindron takes a moment and gets up with a smile, wiping the
       blood from his mouth.
Kindron: I can't believe I fell for that. Guess you're not as
predictable as I thought He says jokingly. It wasn't sure if he
got baited on purpose or if Triton genuinely caught him off
guard, but the result was the same in that Kindron had actually
       gotten hurt.
Triton: I can tell you've never faced a true challenge, so
you've never had to try hard to handle your opponents. He says,
       walking up to Kindron.
Kindron's internal damage regenerates in black flames, as he
       also walks up to Triton.
Kindron: And you're like me. Someone who's been seeking a true
challenge, but never found it. He then smiles. Until now at
       least. He says jokingly.
Triton: I am afraid I must correct you... I may travel the
multiverse to find strong opponents to fight in order to improve
my skills, but I have fought plenty who were stronger than me. I
can see why this world has never produced a good challenge for
you, but on a multiversal scale, there are many with powers
beyond both of us put together. He explains to Kindron.
Triton goes to throw a punch at Kindron, but Kindron catches it.
Kindron: Then I guess it's time for me to stop holding back,
huh? He says as he holds Triton back.
Triton and Kindron then start attacking each other again, this
time relying on martial arts. The two again seem evenly matched
       as they fight.
However, this time, Kindron is the one to land an attack, as he
punches Triton across the face and does a flip overhead,
bringing his heel down on Triton's head, which knocks Triton
       down into the ground.
Triton then vanishes, appearing behind Kindron. However, Kindron
was ready this time, and goes to kick Triton. However, it proves
to be another bait, as Kindron's kick only hits an afterimage of
       Triton, confusing Kindron.
Triton then appears below Kindron. uppercutting him with all of
his strength. Kindron flies upward, but flips and kicks upward
to kick Triton in the jaw, also sending him flying upward.
The two land on the ground, recovering from the attacks and move
to fight each other again. This time, they both land punches on
each other's faces, both punching each other in the jaw. They
both fall to the ground, disoriented before they recover and get
       up again.
Kindron is the first to fully recover as he gets up with a
       smile.
Kindron: You're not bad. This is the hardest I've had to try in
       a long time.
Triton also gets up, slowly recovering.
Triton: I thought you were going to stop holding back. He says
to Kindron, slightly annoyed since he could tell Kindron was not
       going all out.
Kindron chuckles as he lifts his sleeves and removes the weights
on his arm. He then takes off his jacket and throws it to the
ground. He then starts taking the weights off of his legs.
Kindron: Sorry... I wasn't trying to deceive you, but I don't
like removing my weights if I can help it. After all,
supernatural adability is a two-way street. If I don't wear
these weights for a while, I lose a lot of the strength and
speed I gain from wearing them all the time because my body
adapts to not having them. And wearing them is great training
for me, and a great way to keep me from obliterating most
opponents. He says as he removes his weights.
Triton gets into a ready stance, waiting for Kindron to shed his
       extra weights.
Triton: You think shedding a few weights will- He says before
being cut off as Kindron throws the weights to the ground and
the ground shakes from the weight. The weights sink into the
ground a bit as they hit, surprising Triton as Triton falls to
the ground from the weights shaking the ground.
Kindron then looks to Triton again, getting into a ready stance.
       Kindron: Ready?
Triton looks back to Kindron before regaining his composure.
       Triton: Yes. Let's end this...
The battle starts again, but this time, Kindron manages to land
his overhead kick on Triton's shoulder before Triton saw Kindron
move, which knocks Triton to the ground, with the sheer force of
Kindron's kick causing a crater where Triton's body hits the
       ground.
As Triton gets up and attacks again, Kindron dodges and hits
Triton hard in the chest, and then goes into a second attack as
he kicks Tritons feet out from under him and does a back-hand
punch to send Triton flying back.
Triton hits the wall, breaking the wall as he falls to the
       ground, barely able to move.
Triton: It's not just his speed. His strength, his agility...
All of his physical abilities are stronger. And his energy is
stronger too! Those weights must be enchanted with some kind of
magic suppression. Just what kind of weights were those?! What
kind of restraints did he put on himself?! He thinks to himself.
If I don't face him head on and finish him in one strike, it
       will be my head...
Triton: I will pour all of my strength into my next attack...
Win or lose, this will decide this battle. He says partially to
himself as he moves to attack Kindron, putting all of his energy
into his physical amplification and augmentation of his punch.
Kindron smiles, as though meeting the challenge head on. He
focuses his energy as well into his punch.
The two punches collide with their intended targets, both
hitting each other in the chest.
Triton falls to the ground, coughing up blood, barely able to
move. He has to rely on his primordial energy to move him, as
the blow nearly vaporized most of his internal organs. Because
of it, he could barely stay conscious as he struggles just to
       get up to one knee.
However, the attack on Kindron seemed to have hit Kindron's
darkness aura, which covered his body in what looked like a
       spiraling swirl of dark energy.
Triton looks to Kindron after realizing his punch didn't
       actually do any damage.
Triton: So... I lost. Even with all my strength, you merely
       blocked it.
Kindron leans down, getting down on one knee to be at eye level
       with Triton.
Kindron: I actually was going to take the hit. The reason the
dark aura appeared was because my physical defenses weren't
going to be enough. It activated to protect me, which it does
whether I want it to or not. He puts his hand on the dark
energy, which was still present. Even with the absorption, the
power you used was still strong enough that my aura still hasn't
dissipated the force of your attack completely. He then smiles
to Triton. A little faster, and you might have hit me before it
activated. Or a little stronger, and you might have broken
       through it completely. He explains.
Triton chuckles to himself. Triton: You flatter me, warrior...
But I lost. So do what you will. My life is yours. Or at
least... For now. I will be back eventually.
Kindron chuckles as he stands back up. I have no intention of
killing you. You and I will meet again. And I hope that you'll
get stronger. Because I will keep getting stronger too. He says
as he puts his weights back on.
Triton smiles under his mask. Triton: Then I have truly found
someone to push me to the next level. I am content with that. He
       says softly.
Kindron: As am I. He says with a smile as he disappears and
reappears behind Triton. He then knocks Triton out with a strike
to his pressure points. He then looks and punches a wall with a
mass of dark energy. Behind the wall, some kind of heart that
governed the area is destroyed, and the small realm starts to
collapse in on itself. Once that happens, Kindron de-summons his
sword and grabs Triton's blade, and picks up Triton himself,
carrying him and his sword back out of the building/realm.
The realm starts to fall apart, as the space-time connection
fades and the building that was there before seems to retake its
normal shape, as the mutation from the strange realm seems to
       fade away.
Once outside, Kindron finds a place to drop Triton off, who was
       still unconscious.
Once Kindron had found a bed in the school nurse's office, he
looks to Triton who was still sleeping. He put the sword nearby,
not really sure what to do next with Triton, but hoped that he
and Triton would fight again someday.
Kindron then leaves, leaving Triton to recover on his own, and
without any explanation to the people nearby about who Triton
was, which would leave no one to know that Triton was a
mercenary working for whoever planned the realm merging with the
building (Who Kindron didn't know was Zenrael).
When Kindron leaves, he wonders about just who or what Triton
       was.
Kindron: His power felt... primordial. But not like any other
primordial I've ever see. It's strange. And he was strong. He
says before smiling to himself. I wonder if there are others out
there like him. I just hope they're honorable like him and not
jerks... He says as he walks off.
       Days Later.
Kindron walks into the office of the teacher, Olivier Yosef. He
looks around, noticing that she wasn't present despite the fact
that he sensed her only a few moments ago.
However, even Kindron is caught off guard when she suddenly
appears behind him, and hugs him from behind. Kindron stiffens,
trying to break free from her hug.
Kindron: Blast it! That space-time manipulation power of yours
again! What are you doing?! He says as he struggles to get free.
Olivier: Don't be like that, Kinny! She says jokingly as she
continues to hug him. This is just my way of thanking you for
taking care of that sphere and whatever it did to the building
it had encompassed. She says. She then disappears and reappears
in front of him. She seductively presses herself against Kindron
and looks up into his eyes. Or maybe you prefer another way for
me to pay you back? She says, clearly teasing Kindron.
Kindron jumps back and tries to regain his composure, trying to
hide the fact his face had completely turned red. He didn't even
know what to say to her, as he turns away.
Olivier laughs as she looks to Kindron. Olivier: I think I found
your weakness... You're an S rank Makai but you can't handle a
       little romance? She says jokingly.
Kindron sighs and turns back to look at her. Kindron: I haven't
had any real experience with women... So no, I guess I can't
handle romance. He says somewhat quietly.
Olivier chuckles. Olivier: Then you're going to have to avoid
succubus makai like Morrigan and Lilith Aensland. She says
jokingly. She then notices Kindron look away. Wait... You
already met a succubus, didn't you? Was it Morrigan? Or Lilith?
She says, moving closer to him. Tell me. She says jokingly,
       wanting to know more.
Kindron just gets a solemn look while looking away. Kindron: No.
It was neither of them. It was a succubus not connected to any
       of the major families...
Olivier: Now I'm even more curious! She says.
Kindron sighs. Kindron: I helped her become human. So she could
go to the human world and be with the man she loved that she met
in her labyrinth. He explains. There was nothing between us...
Olivier, realizing that Kindron was remembering something hard,
then goes and sits in her chair. Olivier: I'm sorry... I stepped
on a landmine, it sounds like. She says, realizing there was far
more to the story than she was told. You really loved this
       woman, I take it?
Kindron: I did. But she didn't love me.
Olivier: Then why help her at all? If she felt nothing for you,
why not just walk away? She asks curiously.
Kindron sits down in one of the chairs. Kindron: I wanted her to
be happy. Even if it wasn't with me. I couldn't ignore her
desperation to be free. I identify with that feeling of being
trapped all too well. He says.
Olivier, trying to change the subject, jumps up and goes over,
hugging Kindron again, and pulling him close to her while he was
still sitting so that she pulled his head into her chest.
Kindron: What are you-?! He says before practically being
       smothered by Olivier's chest.
Olivier: You know... You could stay here with me. You and I
could be a pair. She says somewhat seductively, as though trying
to goad Kindron. And you could teach the kids. Imagine training
the next generation of makai. You could train them yourself, and
teach them how to be strong. She says to Kindron.
Kindron then gets up and moves away from her.
Kindron: The idea of being a teacher... That actually sounds
kind of nice. The thought of training others honestly sounds
kind of fun. He says before he starts walking out. But I'm not
interested in getting close to anyone. Too many people have been
hurt by me already... He says before walking out.
Olivier runs after Kindron and stops him. She then jumps around
and hands him a pendant with a powerful gem.
Kindron: What's this? He asks as he is handed the pendant.
Olivier: Something to remember me by, and maybe something to
remind you to come visit me now and then. She says jokingly
before getting serious when she sees Kindron get annoyed.
Sorry... Old habits. She says as she looks to Kindron. It's your
reward for doing the job. It's a pendant that holds a few
special skills. You can have the skills within and use the
       pendant's magic power.
Kindron looks to her. Kindron: I don't need more power. He says
       with an indifferent look.
Olivier: Maybe not. But there may come a time when you do. And
these skills could fall into the wrong hands if I keep it. So
consider it a personal request of mine to use this and make sure
it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. You deserve the skills
       within it. She says.
Kindron sighs. Kindron: Fine. I'll use the skills well. And I'll
keep the pendant. Whatever it does, I'll find some use for it.
He says as he starts walking away again.
Olivier goes back to her office and sits in her chair. As she
does, she gets contacted through telepathy by Zakai
       Kruetz-Darkfire.
Zakai: So... What did you think? I hope you didn't tease him too
       much. He says jokingly.
Olivier sighs. Olivier: I fear I may have... I think I pushed
too far into some uncomfortable territory.
Zakai: Wait... Does my telepathy work right? Did I just hear
Olivier Yosef admit she teased someone too much?! I never
       thought I'd see the day!
Olivier: I got carried away with myself. I doubt he'll come
back. Especially after I offered for him to stay with me. I
think I made him uncomfortable. And then I accidentally made him
talk about some uncomfortable memories. I doubt he wants to talk
to me again after that. She says mentally, regretting how she
       handled the situation.
Zakai: Wow. Now I'm really confused. You really got attached,
didn't you? He asks, realizing how serious Olivier was.
Olivier: I did. I don't know, maybe it was just how mysterious
he was. But then I went and screwed it up.
Zakai: Oh... Well, other than completely botching up trying to
hit on him, what did you think of him?
Olivier: You were right. He hides his true feelings, but I can
tell he's a good person. I can see why the Darkfires are in such
good standing with him in charge. He protects others without any
thought of reward. I barely managed to convince him to take the
       pendant you made for him.
Zakai chuckles mentally. Zakai: Good. At least you gave it to
him. I hope he'll get some use out of it. That should be good
for now. I doubt he'd have accepted it if he knew it was from
me. Though I do miss the days when we could be brothers without
any cares in the world. I still want to go back to those days.
Olivier: Something tells me he'd either really enjoy that or
really hate that... She says jokingly, knowing that Zakai was a
       lot to handle at times.
       Elsewhere in the school.
Zenrael was pacing back and forth in anger.
Zenrael: EVERYTHING IS RUINED! EVERYTHING! YEARS OF PLANNING
DOWN THE DRAIN! He yells, not seeming to care who would hear him
as long as his assassin, Shia, was around.
Shia: We could still hunt the guy down... You know, kill him?
Voice: I'm afraid we cannot allow that. A voice says as a blade
       cuts down Zenrael's door.
The man is revealed to be Triton, fully recovered and wielding
       his blade.
Zenrael: He has to die! And if I can't, then YOU will! He says
angrily, slamming his fists on the desk. He then stops. Wait...
We? He says, realizing what Triton said.
Triton: I'm afraid it won't be me that fights him next... He
       says simply.
Zenrael, confused, almost doesn't notice the man in white appear
behind him, who was wearing a white mask. Zenrael tries to move,
but is slashed into multiple pieces in the blink of an eye by
the man's sword, which was more katana like than Triton's sword.
The man was Kavras Medija, a primordial daemon (or at least, one
of his incarnations across the multiverse).
As Zenrael falls apart, Kavras looks down at the pieces of
Zenrael, which were already trying to regenerate. Kavras: Eyes
of Izuna. He says, using a technique to absorb Zenrael's
abilities and energy. Once done, the pieces of Zenrael become
lifeless, and he chuckles. I really hate that guy... Every
universe, he's insufferable. He then turns to Shia, who was
watching in a cold sweat at how easily Zenrael had been taken
       out.
Kavras: So, little girl... Are you going to try and avenge your
master? Before you do, just know that Triton there is my
student. And I am leagues above him.
Shia looks to Triton, as though looking for confirmation.
Triton: It is true. Teacher is far above an aenjier like me. He
says, revealing that he was a primordial race that almost no one
knew about since there were almost none in the multiverse after
creation due to them mostly being killed by races like the
daemons and the The'Galin. It explained his primordial divinity
(Though not a god by any means, his divinity was able to be
sensed at times in his power) and his reverence for the gods,
since the aenjiers were those that held a lot of respect for the
deities of the multiverse, especially those that came before
       creation.
Kavras: You seem skilled. So I'd like you to join me. He says to
       Shia.
Shia chuckles and goes back to munching on candy, regaining her
composure. Shia: As long I get to feed my demon strong people's
blood, I'm okay with that. Zenrael was kind of annoying anyway.
       She says cheerfully.
Kavras: Fine by me. But that Darkfire is mine to kill. Don't get
in my way on this. I finally found someone who could beat my
student, and now I wish to see how well he stacks against the
       master. He says darkly.
Shia just looks with a smile over to Kavras. Shia: Fine. Just
save me some of his blood if you kill him, yeah? I may never get
a chance to feed power that strong to my demon ever again. She
says cheerfully, not even seeming to care that Zenrael was dead.
Kavras: Deal! He says cheerfully, seeming to enjoy the fact that
Shia was on board with joining him.
Triton: Kindron Darkfire... You defeated me, but I fear that has
put a target on your back now. If you cannot survive my teacher,
I fear that your power, like so many others, will be absorbed
into him. He thinks to himself, wondering if Kindron would
regret saving him if he knew that Kavras was now following up on
       Triton's defeat.
It was clear that Kindron would have new competition, and that
the likes of this new trio would prove to be a problem in the
       future.
       End.
