Rita, in some Jewish books, the book of Ruth is placed next to
the Song of Songs, which you know that Jewish males could not
read until after they were 13, because to them the book of Ruth
they also consider it be a great love story, which it is
especially for us Gentiles and ties in with Eph’s 5 concerning
       Christ and His church.
Nice one on the “barley harvest” that’s got the large greys
churning; there will be a great love ingathering sometime, as
‘famine’ reigns in this nasty, now and now.

Well it’s Sunday, it was coffee without a donut as my bones have
not stirred themselves to arise and go.
During a check up at the doctors, this person asked him:
How do you determine whether or not an older person should be
put into an old age home?
“ Well” he said, “ we fill up the bath tub with water, then we
offer a teaspoon, a tea cup and a bucket and ask them to empty
       the bath tub.”
“ Oh I understand they said “ a normal person would use the
       bucket because it’s the biggest”
“No” he said “ a normal person would pull out the plug, Do you
want a bed near the window???🙃🙃🙃.

       Hi Dave
I have never linked Ruth to Ephesians five - that’s interesting
       xx
I have always struggled with Song of Solomon ( until recently I
just couldn’t read it without it triggering something inside of
me ( linked to bad marriage and few other things ) Anyway I came
across some sermons on the book by Charles Spurgeon - this time
round I can read it without the triggers x
Sorry you didn’t get your Donut- I haven’t had anything sweet
for 14 days, want to lose a few pounds. I could murder a donut
       !!!!!!!!

Rita, donut Tuesday came and went, thought it might be seniors
day and the discount would off set the added calories, but it
appears they have discontinued the discount but the calories
came free 😋😋😋. What bothers me is, the
donut ‘sins’ are all before me.
The barley harvest, is actually of much interest, because Bar is
translated son, and it’s the first to be harvested, it also
determines the day of the old Passover and had to be inspected
by a priest that it was white, I think there are seven fruit
feasts, the first being barley and the last grapes, Jesus says
look the fields are white unto the harvest, they had to be
because He was the true Passover lamb, who would take away sin,
not just cover it for a year.
The inspected sheafs became a wave offering for the ‘first
fruits’ but His purpose is to bring many Bar’s to glory, to be
       bread for the nations.
Gideon is shown what a barley loaf can do.TBC owing to Chinese
       food coming soon😋😇😋.

That’s really interesting Dave, thank you.
I always get a bit confused about chapter 3 with the threshing
floor - need to find some info about the cultures.
Chapter two really spoke to me with regards to timing and
provision again ( co incidences )
I still haven’t caved in to any sweet things - or much bread. So
       no donuts !

It’s funny you should mention “threshing floors” as Gideon saw
the barley bread sign, it’s odd that he’s threshing wheat in the
winepress, and we read it was to provide food for his family,
usually the threshing floors were compacted areas outside and
elevated to catch the wind, to separate the chaff from the
grains, it was also a social knees up time.
But what struck me was that Gideon finds himself, labouring in a
place not right for what he has to do, the winepress was a place
for grapes and wine, sometimes it seems circumstances place us
in the wrong place, with the wrong instruments but the right
       intentions.
Back to the bar-ley, Jesus takes the boys meal, five barley
loaves and fishes and feeds a multitude, little did Ruth know
that gleaning for the family would eventually lead to a loaf
broken that is still feeding a multitude.
“This is my body broken for you—-++++++” intermission as two
usherettes, my daughter and granddaughter have appeared with
chocolate covered ice cream cones. So again
       TBC🙃🙂🙃.

My quickie to myself comes from Waldo Emerson.
Write on your heart that everyday is the best day in the year,
He is rich who owns the day and doesn't allow it to be invaded
       with fret and anxiety.
