The last corner I was involved in was at Bexhill Athletic Club,
first round against a very black American airman.
Greetings from a very festive Calgary stampede week, as usual
sunny, windy, with thunder showers and torrential rain , but
lots of free stampede breakfasts, the Grey Eagle one is $5 but
it is ALL you can eat and a bottomless coffee cup.
There’s also this year a gospel tent meetings close to the
stadium, so I’m praying for a large ingathering.
My recipe for ‘ Down in the Dumps ‘, is a good dose of Adrian
Plass, I’m re,re,re,re-reading his diary, the chapter on doing
street witnessing had me howling, been there and done that,
never took the family Bible though, although my gran had one, I
wonder what happened to it?
Who knows that the Lord doesn’t always give us the desires of
our heart!!! I always wanted a Christian race horse, I once
read the testimony of a Christian jockey and thought it would be
nice if he got to ride a Christian horse. Maybe a touch of
Plassitus😇😇😇.
Well nice too be in touch Mike, ‘isn’t God good to give us so
many blessings’ as the song says.
I pray this site will become all that you want it to be bro.

Dear Dave
I can't over emphasize how much it means to me to read your
words of encouragement ....its been such a tough task for an 88
year old dinosaur.
I feel like singing along with Jimmy Swaggart

. Thanks for all that hard work Mike, I very often have a
sing along with bro Jim S, he might have been a bounder as
Helen’s dad would say, but I love him tinkling the ivory’s and
he has blessed a lot of saints with his gifting.
Rita, the Calgary stampede goes waaaay back, and I’m sure back
then their highlight was riding up the main drag, so the
tradition continues on the first day they have a parade on the
downtown area, and then where the hockey arena is they have a
large fair, and loads of eating booths around it, at night they
have different country and western singers holding concerts, a
time of short skirts and cowgirl
hats😇😇😇, inside the arena during the day
they have the super dog trials which were the highlightt for my
granddaughters when they were small, the next day they would set
up a corse and try and get our German shepherd to do it, he
would give it his best shot then do a sit in protest, it covers
10 days and ends with the last chuckwagon race final and a great
firework display.
We had a smoke advisory today, it could be from anywhere as most
provinces have their own fires, but the wind knows no bounds and
bloweth where it listeth in the good old KJ vernacular.
I don’t understand your football scene, I thought BHA did well
so why do the players leave?
I saw a great picture of the Lanes the other day, “ happy”
memories of Saturday’s spent around them.
Has Dan read any of Adrian Plass’s diaries, whenever I use
Helen’s handicap to park, I always look around and walk with a
limp, at least for the first few steps
😇🤣😇.
GtG, lunchtime has come upon me, a good old ploughmans lunch in
a convivial setting would hit the spot, one of my desires that
never gets fulfilled🤨😇🤣.
Keep us posted on the house merry go round, Dave.

Thanks for explain8ng about the stampede, sounds good xxxx
Brighton and Hove Albion have had a great season and made Europe
but sadly we are still not as big as other clubs who have way
more money. It’s been sad to see some of the players go, and I
think they were sad to have been transferred as well. It’s just
how football works over here.
You know when I saw that song and the name Jimmy Swaggart the
film ‘ Apollo 13 came to mind, I am sure one of the astronauts
had a similar name, or perhaps someone in the control centre
No I don’t think Dans has read that, not have I. I do remember
it being very popular a few years back.

I feel like the old song, ‘Smoke gets in your eyes’ and in your
throat, definitely the hazy days of summer.
We actually met Adrian P at a local type of Church of England
here a few years back, it did not seem that the years had been
kind to him.
I shook hands with him, didn’t wash my hand hoping a writing
anointing would launch me into a new
dimension😇😇😇.
I think when Jimmy S got caught with a flat tire on his Cadillac
in a red light district, he probably would have wished to be on
the space shuttle at the time.
But then the Lord has all sorts of vessels he uses, in spite of
what WE think.
All our family have trotted off for a holiday time, which leaves
H and I like Darby and Joan, I asked which one she was, I said,
I was just checking🤣🤣.
I don’t want get left behind in the gender
realm🤔🤔.
So we are foot loose and fancy free, whatever that means.
We just watched the final episodes of Doc Martin, as the Brits
say, blinkin’ good.🤣🤣.
We are now glued to a show called Whitstable have you seen it?
From the show The town of Whitstable has some good fish and chip
places, there’s a place here waaaaaaaaay on the south side
called The British Chippy but foot loose now we might have a
fancy next week😋😋😋. We are still praying
for a speedy healing recovery and for peace on all your family
home and away, keep sweet Dave.

Thanks for the 'heads up' Dave.
I thought there was some kind of scandal allegation re JS but
couldn't recall the details.
I guess he might have used the same excuse as the Salvation Army
man who, when asked what he was doing in a red light district
replied "I was trying to 'save' one of them"
