Question?

What do those who fancy themselves as theologians make of this?
"When you come together, there will be divisions among you; and
there must be also heresies, that they which are approved may be
made manifest"

It would appear to qualify for the philosophically orientated
discipline of religious speculation, one has to consider and be
versed in the four types of theology to warrant the title of a
Theologian.
Above my pay grade Mike but the verse in question from 1 Cor 11
vs 18 & 19, raises the question of who was the whistleblower in
the church to Paul? He says I hear?
Paul sees divisions and factions as a positive happening and it
is for a purpose, usually a type of the sifting of the wheat
process.
He doesn't say 'come out and be ye separate' this was a time for
the true leadership in the church to move redemptively and
establish God's order under Paul's leadership.
Watchman Nee's pattern was that the 'approved' were revealed to
be the ministry to that local church, no bringing 'in' from
outside the group as leadership and oversight.
As fleshly as this body group was, it is still the pattern I
believe modern Christianity has forsaken, theologically
speaking.
We just had our daily dose of Mr Smith Wigglesworth and in
todays script he wrote :
The essence of divine order is to bring the church 'together',
so that there is no schism in the body, but a perfect blending
of heart to heart.

The passage confuses me somewhat. The mixture of Jews and
Gentiles seems to have played a role.

The whole letter was written because Chloe’s household had
revealed that there were quarrels taking place -( 1Corinthians
1:10-11 ) the church lacked harmony or the ability to get on
with one another, despite differences.
Paul addresses there attitudes to communion and a number of
other things, by these attitudes and how they were acting would
reveal those who were following Christs example.
Doesn’t Paul state somewhere about them not being ready for
anything other than milk because they were carnal in their
attitudes.
We are called to be peacemakers - how we deal with issues that
arise between one another can and does act as a witness of our
maturity on a spiritual level. There will always be differences
of opinions as we have an enemy who loves to divide and conquer.
