       Gems

A man who lost all HE had built, said I had to rediscover what
the gospel really means, he listed five points.
       Number one,
You don't become righteous through spiritual disciplines, Christ
       IS your righteousness.
Your standing with God never changes based on your performance.
       Anybody up for more????

need to be profitable servants for Jesus as the story about the
talents and servants in Matthew 25 says.

My 'Gem'. for what it is worth, and very much IMHO, is that
Faith is best embraced by an understanding that God is an
'interventionalist' only if and when He choses to be.
On a dispensational level He intervenes to modify what He has
established, only when He deems it to be necessary.
On a personal level, however, He generally leaves us to groan in
travail whilst we wait for the final redemption.
That understanding enables me to 'Pray' and leave the
       'answering' to God.
My 'cessationalistic' leanings enable me to understand that the
exceptional and miraculous 'interventions' of the apostolic
period were necessary to 'kick start' the dispensation of the
'church', and explains their relative cessation thereafter.
How's that for a meaty 'anyone up for more'? (as Dave puts it).

       Nice one Mike 👏👏👏.
No 2, from As He Is ministries.
Christianity isn’t about behavioral modification. It’s about
       identity revelation.
When you know who you are in Christ, transformation happens
       naturally from rest, not effort.

Why make life complicated? How can you have one without the
other? Jesus said his sheep know his voice and come at his
       call.
What you do usually reveals what you are. By its fruits, you
can tell what kind of plant it is. Going where Jesus tells us
requires some effort as does bearing fruit, no?

Kerry one pasture of His sheep still labour even now under a
'law' mentality, and a lot of modern pastors use the same 'law'
mentality with a sunday 'get right' altar call.
It took a 'love' relationship for me to see His Righteousness,
as a sheep I heard His voice but still laboured under a works
mentality but would never have confessed it to be , my self
       righteousness.
Sometimes the 'blind' need a second touch to see better.

And I believe it to be a personal matter between each sheep and
its shepherd as to the clarity of the 'second touch'.
Always keeping in mind the 'Darkened Glass' which remains with
us all until we finally see Christ face to face, and only then
shall we finally know even as we are known.
Meantime each (such as Dave and Kerry) may see 'Sonship' and
'positional standing in Christ' with varying emphasis.
That's the guiding light on which I place 'my' trust.

       No 3.
In Christ, you are not separated from God and trying to get back
to him. You are already one with Christ, seated in heavenly
       places !!!
Most people can't wrap their minds around this because religion
has taught us we're always climbing towards God.
Instead of living from our position WITH Him.
Mike "Darkly" is translated as "In a riddle, an enigma"
Interestingly Corinth was known as a mirror making place,
usually came with a cleaning attachment because of being brass.
