The joys of getting older and spilling things. So yesterday,
after cleaning my bedroom and changing my quilt cover. I
proceeded to sit on my bed and read, reached out for my cuppa
and knocked it over- bonus of having Sarah next door , she came
round and cleaned the carpet with her cleaner.
Sat in bed tonight , reached out for my fruit tea, knocked it
all over the same piece of carpet - Sarah had to laugh as she
came round and cleaned it again.!!!!!!!
My middle son, David, is up in Scotland fitting out a train
carriages, apparently they usually take the carriages to the
joinery firm in Northern Ireland - so this has raised a question
in my mind as to how they transport the train to the joinery
firm !?
So much easier flying to Scotland with the tools and doing it on
site - We did joke about him just getting use to the Irish, now
he has to deal with the Scottish !!
Just a few ramblings in the early hours of Tuesday morning -
should get some sleep x
Loved these ‘ramblings ‘ they gave me a knowing smile and made
my day…at least we are all in the same boat! ( and headed to the
same shore ) x

Hi Rita,
Join the 'Getting Older Club'.
But you'll take a while before you catch up with me.
With great regularly I too knock drinks over whilst in bed.
I have low cabinets on both sides of my bed and have to take
great care to only place drinks on the side furthest away from
'electrics'.
Just imagine a cup of water all over electric plugs, or over
things like a laptop!!
Yes my dressing tables are further back, not in line with the
bed, so I have to reach round- I intend to get a small high
table that I can put next to my bed to have my cups of tea on,
maybe a trip to the new ikea that should be opening soon xx

Rita, is it a malfunction of eye and hand co-ordination due to a
certain degree of mind wipe due to the ongoing ageing, dropping
things is my forte but I maybe get benefits from bending to
pick pick them up ::)  ::)  ::)
Keep on rambling, we can translate German for the next week :)
:) :)xxx

I think it’s just a gift , a new one that develops with maturity
!! lol
I find I cannot kneel down anymore so have to invent new ways of
picking things up that I drop - but alas sometimes I have to
admit defeat and get Dan or Sarah to do the job.
I have enough problems speaking German, basically I know no
words at all - but I can proberbly cheat with writing something
in German, just copy and paste !

How lovely to see you able to post Rita. Glad to read that you
are having fun…so often being away on holiday messes up our diet
in a delightful way haha! I’m guessing that the German ice cream
is good then?
One of my daughters was there a few weeks ago…but she said that
she much preferred the French pastries over the German , but she
didn’t mention their ice cream lol
Hoping that you are also getting good weather for your trip.
You are missed xx

I don’t usually have ice cream at home, and definitely not the
different flavoured ones, it’s very much like the ice cream I
had in Spain last year. Gabi loves ice cream - so we go for a
walk and the. Stop at the ice cream shop ( over here only
bakeries and ice cream shops are open on a Sunday )
The weather has been really nice - which is not what I expected
as it forecast a lot of rain this week. I dread to think what my
blood test next monday will show. It’s impossible to stick to
the diet I had placed myself on - so I will have to be really
strict when I get home. I can’t get on here much, having a few
problems sleeping tonight , so I thought I would pop on xxxxxx

Guten Abend Rita, it reads that all went well in the travelling
department and the weather is being kind for you.
Which city are you in, I'm sure you have mentioned it but bear
with the aged!!!!
My old Army Reg't was stationed in Hamelin after Cyprus.
Our hockey team is in the final starting tomorrow AND my son in
law has booked a month of Sports channel so we can watch it, one
of our star players is a German national. The opposition are a
'mean and surly' (borrowed from a Danny DeVito movie) team who
won the cup last year.
Glad to hear you are keeping to a "moment on the lips, forever
on the hips" regime ;) ;) ;)
"Watch out" for the Apple Strudel and fresh cream it can sneak
up on one :) :) :) .

Hi Dave
Hamelin is over five hours from where I am in Germany x
I am in Hennen in Iserlohn ( near Dortmund ). All my concerns
about flying were wasted anxiety as I coped and it all went
well. Many thanks for prayer support.
Enjoy the final - sure hope they win xxxxxxx

Rita greetings, Dan's been on my heart so I hope he's enjoying
Brighton's sunny weather, is there anything close by for him?
I take it you are not close to the 'lanes' one of my old
meandering spots, probably not the same now!!!!!
We have had a gorgeous day and the evening is beautiful, nice to
get a break from thunderstorms. Sat out and read my book in the
hot of the afternoon, I am now fully engaged in warfare with the
local mice, it seems the weather has stirred them up, up till
now they are down two players I put out two traps in the
evening, they seem to evade one but my delicacies on the other
have caused then to be tempted like Eve.
Anymore trips planned, how are the knees standing up (no pun
intended) in retirement?
Had a blessing yesterday I'd been out driving and Helen wanted
to go to a thrift store, this entailed doing hair and Bra-ing
up, anyway I go and start the car and no response, so I wait 5
seconds, patience is still work in progress but the battery was
dead, I have a battery charger but have never had to use it and
obviously the starting instructions had long flown away, oh
glory.
I have been a member of the AMA since 1978 and in my membership
I have towing, tire repair and battery starting; so I phone and
have to endure a cacophony of stuff while pressing number 4 of
the options, finally I get somebody I think he must have been in
South Africa, very difficult to understand and keeps asking me
for my date of birth for what ever reason, patience is eroding
in a very unchristian way, plus Helen is keeping a constant
chant of 'get a new battery, up', and Mr South African mumble is
also asking something that is beyond my hearing range, so I
intercede and say I need roadside assistance, please send the
roadside battery man, more constant from Helen "get a price on a
new battery" then we are down to the address, after a long
tennis like rally of back and forth of it, he says are you on a
road or off road, my reply is that I'm parked in front of where
I live. So now THAT is "my blessing" being parked at home.
Anywhere else would have been catastrophic as I have no phone
now, plus the other part two of the blessing was the serviceman
came in under an hour, he was a bit of a lad, bovver boots, long
shorts and a multitude of tattoo's but ultra efficient, checked
my alternator, confirmed the battery was the problem, had one on
his truck, then the old off and on with the new by then Helen had
de-bra-ed back to, 'not going out mode', so we went this
morning.
It's nearly 7 bells here, time for laying my not so subtle trap
line and a coffee refill!!!!
Have a blessed week Rita, God will have something good for you.
