       Hi Pat
Yes , it can be. Thankfully it’s been Chelsea that is sorting it
all out, I would have got lost a long time ago. We have been
trying to put a swap together for about 4months.
I had trouble just going round the home swap site using my iPad,
Sarah was helping but then took her overdose, so Chelsea stepped
up. She is desperate to move and her home is quite small so she
knew it would have been hard to get someone who wanted it, so
she concentrated on finding someone for mine and somewhere for
       her.

Nothing legal Pat, the council didn’t even contact us at all ,
they do have to approve the people swapping houses ..once that’s
done, they say- “have at it. “
As long as we were all good rent payers , and they were going to
get their rent money. They don’t care …
We just had to tell the council the date we were moving , so
they knew where to get the rent , they don’t worry.
Maybe things have changed over the last 50 years …I’ve no idea,
but that’s how it was with us.

I may be a complete dumbo but surely this has to be Rita's reply
       to Pat, and not Helen's

Mike- yes it is from me to Pat ….It was me answering Pats
question about council house swapping , because we’ve done it
       ourselves ..

       Hi Pat,
The swaps start with tenants of housing ass and council houses
looking for a house swap. This is mainly for people who need
larger houses, or want to downsize.
Things have changed slightly since Helen and Dave swapped.
Once people have viewed and agreed a swap you contact the
council/ housing asso , they then send someone round to evaluate
if anything should be addressed ( this doesn’t mean everything
has to be okay ) for example , if you had a bedroom painted
black you would have to paint it to a lighter colour.
Once that is done you then arrange a meeting between everyone
who is swapping and sign new contracts - you agree to take on
the new house ‘ as seen ‘ so you agree to accept the house. When
I moved to this house it was not a well kept house, it was a
mess, but the view was amazing and it was just up the road from
mum and dad. So I chose to accept it and decorate.
Once the contracts are signed you then arrange a moving date xx

The way you describe it sounds like a good plan and everyone
will benefit. Will you miss your view Rita?

I am not sure,in many ways I knew a few years ago that I would
not stay here so in my heart I knew it was time to let this
       house,the view, and Woodingdean go.
Moving into the city will be different, but I am excited about
being next to Sarah. I am so looking forward to have a garden
where I can just have pots - it will take a great big weight off
       my shoulders.
Leaving Woodingdean will emotional, but it’s the right things to
       do xxx
In my job I see people giving up so much of their lives as they
get older, I would rather start that process now rather than
       when I am older

Well here I am at 5:00 , drinking a cuppa before getting ready
for my first day back. I have a meeting with my line manager
before my shift, to work out what I can do, put a risk
       assessment in place ect
Have no idea how being on my feet for 8hours + is going to go
with both my knee and pulled muscles ……….could be interesting as
some of the residents can proberly walk faster than me at the
       moment !!!!!!!!
Also today is the day Chelsea views the other house and will
make a decision about whether it is okay for her …so it could be
a good day , or a disappointing one xxxxx

Rita, here's hoping and praying that you have a good day.
Or that God carries you through if the day is not so good.
Just keep singing the song "The God of the mountain is still God
       of the valley"
