Yes, I have heard of Dick Barton special agent, but it was not
part of my childhood so must have been something my parents
talked about - I grew up in the era of radios being used for
music or two way family favourites and radio Luxembourg.
The only show I really think I missed out on was ‘ The goons ‘
       so funny
I grew up on black and white tv , which I find hard to watch now
       as it’s aged so much.

[/quote]One of the British comedy channels has episodes of The
Goon Show. If you're up in about three hours, the next time it
will air is 5:50 AM EST. What is that, 10:50 AM in the UK?

Thanks Kerry, I will consider getting the app.
I recognise some of the other shows they have ‘ Sexton Blake ‘
       is one of them.
My uncle had one of the goons songs at his funeral ‘ The Yin
tong ‘ song. For his close family , well we were all laughing
but for everyone else they kind of didn’t get it and just sat
       there in silence. !
I can’t here that song without smiling as it brings back
wonderful memories with my best friend at school ( sadly she
died a few years back )We discovered the goons long after they
had finished on the radio - but this particular song made a come
back in 1973 - so it re triggered an interest in the show.
Interestingly my youngest son doesn’t get the humour of the show
       - he doesn’t find it funny at all !

We used to listen to Dick Barton Special Agent on the
radio/wireless as a family when I was a child. And watch Dick
Tracy at the Saturday matinees. And Black Arrow too.
