Captain Drummond
By: Kerry Date: June 16, 2025, 1:24 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
Has anyone here heard any of the old "Bulldog Drummond" radio
shows? I believe the series was made in the US but based on
British characters. I like Drummond's sidekick Denny. I hear
it when it shows up on "detective" channel; but I think I could
find a link to only episodes from that show if anyone's
interested. Hey, it's something to do; and you need to stay
alert if you want to keep up Bulldog Drummond. I find it
amusing.

I've heard of it Kerry but I think I only read it in comics.
Is it traceable on archives BBC?
I think it might be. The American ones probably can't
be traced there; but there were British radio and television
shows too. I haven't heard or seen any of those. One link I
found says "no episodes" are available for the radio shows.
Here's a link to the American shows at You Tube -- there's no
real video, but the audio is there.

This came up when I did a search, but don’t know if it’s what
the radio shows were based on or if it’s the same ‘ Drummond ‘
Thanks. I bookmarked that page for later since I never
saw the movie. It is the same Drummond.

It's quite often showing on one of the more obscure TV channels.
I don't have a TV anymore. I got bored with most of
the stuff on cable and cancelled it and gave my TV away. So if
I watch it, it will have to be on my computer monitor.

I’ve heard the name , I think England only had it as a boys
comic mag.
I used to faithfully listen to the Afternoon Theatre. The dramas
were very good indeed .
I used to listen to it while I ironed ( boy! ironing is a thing
of the past haha! )
As a kid we never missed “Dick Barton Special Agent “ it was
thrilling. ;D
I can honestly say that I’ve never listened to the radio since
emigrating - 1976.
Am I missing something ? If it’s anything like Canadian TV ,
then I’m not!

I doubt the old radio shows are like today's TV. I got rid of
cable first, and then I gave my TV away.

I'm listening to an episode of Bulldog Drummond now called,
"Death Rides a Racehorse." I've heard it before, it seems.
HTML https://rokitradio.com/
It's running on the Crime Radio Extra channel. I thought about
listening to an episode of "It's Higgins, Sir," which was a show
about an uppity American couple who hires an English butler. It
can be hilarious. That was on the American comedy channel.
They also have 2 British comedy channels.
