It’s has been hot hasn’t it Pat, I was working in the laundry on
a few of the really hot days. We have a fan but that eventually
just gives out hot air.
The body temp thing is weird isn’t it, just another of those
wonderful things that happens as we get older. My mum in law
used to have her heating on full whack, it was like an oven in
her house and she would still need a cardigan on !!
Hopefully this week will bring more normal temps, and no doubt
we will be complaining about the cold weather soon.

It's been lovely these last couple of days with the top temps
down to a normal 18C. and the temp in my house is down to to 22C
now. I've had a lot more energy and sleeping will no longer be
a problem.

Hi Rita, We're doing okay but Ray is getting frailer and doesn't
eat much these days. I had been praying for somebody to offer
to take me to the church meetings and out of the blue the most
unexpected person asked me - my son. So we have been going
together now for a few weeks with little Jenayah who loves it
and told me Jesus cares for her. The trouble is I can't hear
much apart from the singing but that's okay as I know Gareth
hears it all.

How are you, have you got a date for your move and is Dan happy
about it? I will pray that you won't find it too much of an
upheaval and that you settle in quickly.

How lovely to go with your son - hope he is doing okay. How old
is Jenayah now ?
I am sorry to hear about Ray, it’s hard watching others age and
we all tend to do it in different ways. Do the family help round
the house if you need support ?
When I did my knee, then my other leg in, it was an eye opener
to mobility issues. I got stuck on the floor at home once
because I bent down to do something for my grandson and couldn’t
get up without putting pressure on my knee of my other leg. I
had to should for Dan.
Have you had any of the flooding in your area ?
We have had heavy rain for the last few days but ( at the moment
) I am on high ground.

We are aiming to move on 18th November, but we should get
official confirmation of that date in the next few days. So I am
living with boxes in partially empty rooms.
Dan is really pleased because it’s right next door to his sister
and brother in law. He often goes to stay with them for a ch age
of scenery and social interaction. We all get on really well. So
instead of it costing him much anxiety and 20:00 taxi each time
he can just go next door. Also he knows he can cope with just
going to the shops along the road - he can’t cope with some of
it, but it’s a start and will give him a bit more independence.
The house is smaller as well, so should be easier to heat.
I leave work on the 21st, still trying to get released on
medical grounds, ut either way my last day will be on that
Tuesday. Just may have to be signed of sick while either my
notice is worked out or another occupational therapy app helps
to release me from my contract.
Much love
Rita

Hi Rita, so not long to wait, and how lovely to be near your
daughter. I will pray that everything works out well for you.
Will you need to do much to the new house? Hope you settle in
quickly. xx

I was utterly amazed when Gareth asked if I wanted to go. He
says he enjoys going. Jenayah is 6 - 7 in January. It makes me
so sad if I let myself dwell on Ray's frailty as he used to be
such an active man. The council have given him a stair lift
which is great and now we are waiting for a new boiler, also
funded by the council. They have been very good to us over the
years, giving us a handrail up our 20 steps from the road and
also one inside, as well as a full new roof with insulation and
gutters.
When it rains heavily our road, which is on a steep slope, can
sometimes look like a river as all the properties along it are
higher than the road. The area at the bottom of our road
sometimes gets a bit of local flooding from the heavy rainfall.
There is also a river a bit further down but because of all the
steep slopes we are in no danger of being flooded.

We are about to get a storm coming in over the south coast, it’s
go to be a bit crazy tonight and tomorrow ( should be fun trying
to get to work tomorrow )
I don’t think it’s heading your way this time…..
I must admit I am always grateful for the fact that In a housing
association house, and now moving to a council one. There is a
sense of security if things go wrong or you need something done.
How are you doing, health wise?
