Eating and drinking is definitely a good way to enjoy family
time - maybe the best - and I intend to do as much of it as
       possible before my last days.

Way to go Pat, my friend who was a great liker of John Hagee and
went out to supper one night, came home, face planted on his top
step and joined the heavenly throng, I have always thought, what
an exit, no fuss no muss.

I've had a lovely day with my six year old grand daughter, we
laughed at funny animal clips, we read stories and I treated her
to marshmallows and sweet which I've never been allowed to do
before. And we played cafes with her dolls tea set. She stayed
with us until her daddy came to collect her after work at around
2:30. It has been such a joy.
The sad part though is that her mum has a mission to make my
life difficult by bringing her very early. She doesn't even look
at me or speak to me when I answer the door. The child is off
school for the long holidays and her mum can't cope with her as
well as the baby so mostly she goes to holiday club so her mum
can keep the house immaculate and go out and meet with her
       friends.

So, she’s still her old self then, behaving like she always has
, she must be such a miserable person on the inside.
But, I’m so glad that you had some quality time with your grand
daughter . How often do you get to see her these days ?
       Grandkids are such fun…
Not sure if you remember that my eldest grand daughter lost her
husband suddenly 3 years ago , when he just dropped dead in
good health. ( still no cause or reason)
Well, she just got engaged and we are all so happy for her! And
we all like this new guy , he just blends right into the family.
He also knew Amy’s husband as they went to school together
…which seems to make it easier.

Such good news about your grand daughter Helen. I remember the
sad news but didn't realise three years had gone by since it
       happened.
During the school holidays I have been seeing Jenayah some
Sundays to go to church as well as once a week on Fridays or at
least when her mum brings her - but she makes it as awkward for
me as possible, arriving very early or not at all one week with
no prior notice. Today I was out in the front garden
replenishing the bird feeders and she cam up the steps without
making eye contact or acknowledging me in any way until I said
goodbye and then she reluctantly said goodbye without looking at
me. I don't know what I have done to her apart from being
       Gareth's mum.

I am totally wilting with the heat wave we are having. Over the
week the inside temp has gone from a comfortable 21C to a very
uncomfortable 24.5C. There has been no sign of a breeze to cool
things down either. My Ray can't understand what all the fuss
is about as his body temp control doesn't seem to work the same
as mine. His choice of clothes makes no concession to the hot
weather and he wears tee vest, long sleeved polo type shirt and
jumper both winter and summer and even in this heat sleeps under
       a 15tog duvet.
All I can do is wear my lightest dress and sit as still as
possible and read mostly. I have coped better than I expected
though. And I have preferred the dismal damp days of last month
to the ever increasing heat of the past week.

It’s has been hot hasn’t it Pat, I was working in the laundry on
a few of the really hot days. We have a fan but that eventually
       just gives out hot air.
The body temp thing is weird isn’t it, just another of those
wonderful things that happens as we get older. My mum in law
used to have her heating on full whack, it was like an oven in
her house and she would still need a cardigan on !!
Hopefully this week will bring more normal temps, and no doubt
we will be complaining about the cold weather soon.
       Xx
