I just searched back and find that I deleted my opening post at
almost exactly the same time as I was making a post criticising
both Trump and Putin. Maybe, knowing Dave's support for Trump I
thought it best to 'lay low'.

I am pretty sure that Dave would prefer everyone to feel they
can be open and honest. On the other forum you can’t say
anything against Trump without being accused of having Trump
derangement syndrome. Yet they can say and express negatives
about other leaders without any accusations. They take offence -
honestly Dave is not like that xx
We all see different things in people, and ultimately only
history will look back and determine the qualities and decisions
       of each leader. Xx

A friend is now under going cancer surgery, she's a nurse and
asked for prayer that the surgeons are able to find a wide
margin, which means a loss of the 'good flesh' in the process
but it could be the difference in a life and death situation.
Sorry Pat, I would have voted for Pre's Trump not on a christian
basis but because the past record of Clinton, Bush, Obama and I
keep falling over Joe, there record for where the vulnerable's
are concerned that they did them no favours, the left media does
not like Pre's Trumps surgery. The Clinton sell out at Benghazi
and Biden's debacle in Afghanistan that is still costing human
lives reveals what they think of the vulnerable's.
There are very few countries including the Hamas protestors who
have any concern past or present for the vulnerable's, Mr
Starmer's lack of controlling illegals is a point taken.
God is the only one who cares.
Every has a right to likes and dislikes as it is always usually
       based on what is read.
My 'liberal' friend who was irked that their was a presidential
change still trotted of legally to Tennessee, so it does not
have to be done illegally, which ever way one slices it, illegal
is still illegal if not, anarchy reigns.
"Nuff said from as I don My MCGA hat ::) ::) ::)

Christine was diagnosed with stage 4 terminal cancer, and given
a max of two years to be managed by increasingly paliative
treatment. That was five years ago during which time every
periodic examination has shown no growth whatsoever to the
       cancer.
She grows weaker and less mobile, but at a lesser rate that me.
She cooks the meals, does all the washing and ironing, keeps up
with the ordering of consumables, does the dishwashing etc. and
all because she reckons she does it better than me!!.
She leaves all the theological stuff to me and has little
patience with my struggles to identify meaningful 'Covenant'
milestones and meaningful 'Dispensational' points of change.
But maybe I haven't progressed from the milk weaning stage to
       the level of 'strong meat'
However, "not knowing why , and unworthy as I am, God's wondrous
grace to me has been made know, and He has claimed me for His
       own.
For, I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is
able, to keep that which I've committed unto Him against that
       day."

Christine sounds a keeper Mike, modern techno here takes care of
the dishes, my daughter does our laundry and I'm really into the
wrinkly look, so no ironing. Most of the other stuff I take care
of, mostly under Helens supervision by the not too subtle slow
       walk past.
Many years ago a Bro preached a word entitled the 'Four
temperament's' by Tim LaHaye; Peter the Sanguine, Paul the
choleric, Moses the melancholy and Abraham the phlegmatic.
We listened to his tape and 'they' (the ladies) then fitted us
into one of his four categories. I shall not reveal were I was
       slotted !!!!
Volatile was not one listed but Helen could have made that a
       fifth category.
Like you, My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and
       righteousness.

I just think it's terrible what Trump is doing in America and
can't understand why any right thinking American would vote him
in. I too had been reading God's response to the Israelites
wanting a king and your post pointing out the similarities made
       good sense.

Some Trump supporters don't seem to thinking right if you ask
me. I belong to a political group on another site; and some say
       astonishing things.
I was so happy to read that a judge said Trump lacked the
authority to "end temporary protected status for Haitian
migrants before it is set to expire in February 2026."
Haitians here seeking asylum were also relieved. I hope my
Haitian neighbors who are Christians can get some permanent
       status and stay.

There are people who say he is doing good things for the US but
at what cost to vulnerable people?

There are people who say he is doing good things for the US but
at what cost to vulnerable people?
[/quote]It doesn't make sense; and many of the Republicans in
Congress know it but are terrified to oppose Trump. My guess is
that Democrats will win several seats in the next election.
Lara Trump is thinking about running for the Senate seat in
North Carolina where a moderate Republican Thom Tillis
       currently holds.
  HTML https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/lara-trump-roy-cooper-mix-tillis-retirement-ignites/story?id=123385729<br
/> He's quitting because he's tired of Trump and his wackines
       s
-- and probably tired of hearing from Trump supporters berating
him. Trump has been nasty to him, so I imagine his supporters
have been too. The problem with North Carolina for Lara Trump
is that there are lots of swing voters. They do elect Democrats
at times; and if she runs and wins the Republican nomination, I
cannot see her winning. I am sorry to see Thom Tillis go; but I
can surely understand why he's calling it quits.
  HTML https://www.politico.com/news/magazine/2025/07/01/thom-tillis-north-carolina-retirement-swing-state-00436038
Remember the saying, a house divided against itself cannot
stand? Trump is dividing people inside the Republican Party
against each other. He's wrecking the party which elected him.
We are probably in for a few more unpleasant years.
I got a robocall from the RNC yesterday. I laughed when the
recording said Trump had reduced wasteful spending. If that was
true, why is this budget so huge? They plan to spend money they
don't have, increasing the national debt tremendously. And where
will all that additional money go -- not to poor people --
       that's being reduced.

Thanks for praying Rita, the last report was she was out of
recovery and bandage from ankle to hips, and resting but it
doesn't sound very comfortable to me.
My daughter lives just outside Spokane and Antifa and Anti
Israel rioted there last night and they who don't riot and are
       labelled 'not thinking right'.
It does make one think as to what is 'right thinking' verses
       'left' thinking.
I shall now leave Pre's Trump to fight is own battles.
As the old song says " I'll keep on singing 'til He comes, 'till
He comes, there's nothing in this world worth turning around to
see, so I'll keep on singing 'till HE comes.
