Mike as one old codger to another, in Rita’s posts is much
wisdom, self always has only it’s own intentions at the
forefront, here from age 75 one is monitored by a doctor, after
80 you only have a two year license which after their check up
is renewed or withdrawn, my last one included a cognitive test,
balance and a grip thing, plus general heart, lungs and do I
fall down, get dizzy etc.
For my own well being I do a weekly ‘Brands Hatch’ on our four
laner, every two weeks a down towner, always a winner as ‘rush’
hour is pretty much all day with a population of 1 and three
quarters of a million gracing the city now, and much of our
ethnicity seem to drive like where they came from.
Then throw in that the weather has made road repairs a top
priority, and the putting up of signs for said repairs is a
language in itself.
A geologist mate up the road has no vehicle for one or two
reasons, but gets a seniors bus pass and manages quite well, the
bus has a stop right outside the off license, maybe one reason
he doesn’t drive !!! I give him a lift if I see him at the bus
stop.
You seem to have more ailments than Heinz 57, but keep on
keeping on Mike.

Actually I only use my car as a super weather proof and
comfortable Mobility scooter.
Short local journeys at very controlled low speed on minor
roads.
Healthwise I feel at my best in my car, I never feel tired and
if needs be I will use it less and less.
Even now it spends most of its time in my garage being polished
and worshipped.
"The dearest Idol I have known, whate're that idol be" is where
I'm most at fault.

Mike you don’t have to get rid of the car, even if you weren’t
able to drive it.
Why don’t you get a mobility scooter - it would still give you a
bit of freedom to be able to go out, and you would be safe and
so would everyone else. Xxxxxxx

I've got two mobility scooters, one is lightweight and folds to
suitcase size to take on the buses.

If genuine " Godliness with contentment is great gain, what can
be an "arrogant pretention to Godliness with proud intention to
get whatever one wants", other than great loss?
God alone will either intervene or leave man to self destruction
... or, of course, He will use evil to unwittingly play its part
in His eternal purpose.
We can only pray, and wait to see what will come to pass.
Trump could be assassinated .... world war could break out ....
we just can only guess.
But one fearful guess could be a fulfilment of Hank William's
song
I dreamed that the great judgement morning
Had dawned and the TRUMPet had blown
I dreamed that the nations had gathered
To judgement before the white throne
From the throne came a bright shining angel
And stood on the land and the sea
And swore with her hand raised to heaven
That time was no longer to be
And oh, what weeping and wailing
As the lost were told of their fate
They cried for the rocks and the mountains
They prayed, but their prayers were too late
The rich man was there, but his money
Had melted and vanished away
A pauper stood there in the judgment
His debts were too many to pay
The GREAT MAN was there, but his greatness
When death came, was left far behind
The angel that opened the records
No trace of his greatness could find
The widow stood there and the orphans
God heard and remembered their cries
No sorrow in heaven forever
God wiped all the tears from their eyes
The gambler was there, and the drunkard
And they who had sold them the drink
With people who gave them the license
Together in hell they did sink
And oh, what weeping and wailing
As the lost were told of their fate
They cried for the rocks and the mountains
They prayed, but their prayers were too late
The mortal man to the judgment
But self-righteousness would not do
All the men who had crucified Jesus
Had passed off as mortal men, too
And the souls that had put off salvation
"Not tonight, I'll get saved by and by
No time now to think of religion"
But at last they'd found time to die
And oh, what weeping and wailing
As the lost were told of their fate
They cried for the rocks and the mountains
And they prayed, but their prayers were too late

Mike many years ago, at a gathering at my oldest daughters house
the saints had gathered and the time for the evening meal was
upon us, my son in law was to bless the food but the fellowship
was good and noisy, my son in law has a gentle spirit and a
couple of coughs didn't do the trick, but my grandson all of 7
years rose to the occasion and walked to the front and in a loud
voice declared, "Let the man speak"
As to Pres' Trump (loved writing that) but much to the chagrin
of many, but I say 'Let the man speak'
Now that's power, that so many countries are fearful of him,
what does that say about Mr Biden!!!! at his end he was handing
out 'free passes' like confetti.
My question is IF they were squeaky clean why do they need a
keep out of jail pass????
Some of my mates in England would like a Pres' Trump steering
their countries ship.
The Lord can make the 'proud' humble He is really good at that.
At the moment we have three potential nummies vying for the
'leadership' of the "Liberal" party.
This is my 'umble opinion of them at the moment, it is $350,000
up front to throw one's hat in, Two ladies and one man at the
moment,
did see our man Mr Trudeau having a laugh with Mr Trump at Mr
Carter's do, the first lady is Karina Gould who it seems is the
Liberal house leader, number two is Canada's answer to Kamala
Harris, Chrystia Freeland' she sank Mr Trudeau's ship and number
three coming out of the gate Mark Carney, 'former' governor of
the bank of Canada, 'former governor of the bank of England with
all the technocrat credentials of a global One Worlder.
There are a few other potentials but I think the $350,000 might
be enough to scare them off.
All of the three are anti Alberta but don't mind using our
resources to fly around the world, I think Mr Carney is aware
that the East is very dependent on our resources, the ladies
have a Greta T philosophy and fly a rainbow flag and foster an
Indigenous
flavour knowing that the natives are a main conduit for money
laundering and drugs.
I'm not sure when the starting gate opens, Canada has a very
convoluted voting thing for becoming leader of any party: our
premier was at Pres' Trumps do today.
What a day that will be, when ALL things working together for
God comes to pass, do I hear an Amen ;) ;) ;)

Who needs Bible gateway when you can find what you want by doing
a google search.
This morning I searched for "bible verse about dwelling in
unity" and 'eureka' up came "Behold, how good and how pleasant
it is for brethren to dwell together in unity"
I wanted to use that to describe my feelings about our forum.
So, there you have it (Psalm 133)

It is 'My burden' that, in my old age, I cannot get away from
the duties of what Kerry once described as being a "Nuts and
Bolts man".
It's going on continuously in the background.
I've only just checked the terms of our 'Registration Agreement'
and found that it was in need of adjustment.
It now simply reads
"Welcome to UNIITED IN DIVERSITY Christian Forum. We are a group
of Christians who, in the main, have trodden the rounds, and
left behind, forums that had become characterised by theological
controversy and denominational emphasis. Herein we share our
spiritual thoughts and experiences together with what the
Hymnist describes as our "Common Rounds and Daily Tasks". If you
wish to join with us we simply ask that you too will eschew
theological controversy and denominational emphasis and post in
accordance with our ethos which you can surely recognise if you
read through some of our posts".
My burden is just part of my extreme OCD character (It's
dominated my entire life and is too deeply embedded now to hope
for a cure).
It's been the driving factor that has equally led me to great
business success, and great business collapse.
Probably the same can be said of my Forum endeavours.
However, in business, my last throw of the dice was a 'double
six'.
Let's pray that the same is the case with our forum, which is
different in that it is entirely dependant on the support of
such a wonderful set of members.
May God richly bless each one of you.
