Kerry I've never thought of prophecies coming with a 'could be
repeated label', definitely a Selah on that.
Another point of interest for me was your man typed the
mountains as male and hills as female, I'd never heard that in
my types and shadows.
I rode race horses as a teenager, and there was a term, on the
bit and off the bit, the site has a definite off the bit feel at
the moment don't you think?

Matthew especially has some hard passages since he will quote a
prophecy as if it hadn't been fulfilled. Readers can get
confused. Here's one example.
Matthew 2:13 And when they were departed, behold, the angel of
the Lord appeareth to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take
the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be thou
there until I bring thee word: for Herod will seek the young
child to destroy him.
14 When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by
night, and departed into Egypt:
15 And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be
fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Out of Egypt have I called my son.
That prophecy had already been fulfilled when Israel left Egypt.
We could even debate whether it was a prophecy in the usual
sense of the word. Check it out.
Hosea 11:1 When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called
my son out of Egypt.
2 As they called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed
unto Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.
I would say Israel sacrificed to false gods; but in the replay,
Jesus did not. This leaves me hanging, since I wonder if Egypt
will play a role in the end times as well.
Jews see many passages as prophetic when we see them only as
history. Some say that almost all of Genesis has prophetic
significance. One example is how Ishmael and Isaac both buried
Abraham.
Genesis 25:8 Then Abraham gave up the ghost, and died in a good
old age, an old man, and full of years; and was gathered to his
people.
9 And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of
Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite,
which is before Mamre;
10 The field which Abraham purchased of the sons of Heth: there
was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.
I read that to mean Abraham cannot find rest spiritually until
the descendants of his two sons are willing to cooperate in
peace. Arabs and Jews are still in conflict.
I'm not sure about the other things you wrote about hills and
mountains.

Recently I feel that I've been taught important personal lessons
about Pride versus Humility, Contentment versus Possessions, and
Simple Worship rather than Expository Opinion.
The latter arising out of considering the post about 'The Word'
(Logos)

I've modified my constant resort to "The Lord's Prayer"
I begin with "Heavenly father Hallowed be thy Name"
But when I get to the bit about "Forgiving trespasses" I find
myself led to simply pray "Help me Father to forgive those who
trespass against me"
I just dare not ask to only be forgiven to the degree that I
forgive those who trespass against me.
What think you all?

I have just finished reading right through my entire "Corner",
and as I approach something similar to Dementia I was amazed to
be reminded of so much of the last few years of my life that I
had completely forgotten about.

I'm not in favor of modifying it that way. If we can forgive
people in some things and can be forgiven, it lessens the burden
of regret that can weigh us down. If we can feel the burden
getting lighter, that should encourage us to forgive others in
other things.

On reconsideration I guess I'm not taking into account the fact
that my hope of a place in God's ultimate "New Jerusalem" is not
dependant on living a life of sinless perfection, but on getting
there after being "Saved, yet so as through fire", and ending up
in at leased one of the "many mansions prepared in the Father's
house"
It's the difference between being totally redeemed by faith from
the inherent nature of sin, and only being saved from actual
acts of unrepented sin, after refinement "through fire".
That's my way of viewing the process of transition at the
"second resurrection" (Upon the resurrection of the dead, man's
natural body is raised as a spiritual body 1 Corinthians 15)

Remember how Jesus told Peter he would make him a fisher of men?
He did too. How does a fish hook work? It has to have bait.
Peter was the bait. The Romans put him to death. They had the
right to be pagans if that was their choice; but they killed an
innocent man just as they did when they crucified Jesus. When
someone violates the Law of Free Will that way, they cannot hide
behind it anymore.
If someone offends against you and you are innocent, that gives
you "power" over them. By praying for them, you bring down the
Power of Heaven on their heads. Call it coals of fire on their
heads -- ah yes, fire which is trying to purify them. It is
giving you a chance to be bait on the hook. You may see them
converted later if you do not return evil for evil.
Since I believe in reincarnation, I'll admit I believe that
might not happen in this lifetime; but I've been lucky enough to
see a few people who injured me come to Christ and partly (I
think) because I didn't injure them back or even try. When it
was over, I thanked Jesus for giving me the opportunity. A lady
on the street did something rude to me the other day, and I
thanked Jesus for the chance of praying for her. She desperately
needed spiritual help. I felt sorry for her not for myself.
Years ago, I gave up trying to figure out if I had forgiven
others of everything done to me -- so I said I forgive everyone
everything. It was a huge load off my shoulders. Failing to
forgive others hurts me more than them. Maybe I can't change
them, but I can change myself for the better.
Still I struggle with some things with some people.
