I still have some of my records - but I tend to listen to the
songs on Spotify now. I do have a record player but only
recently found the cable for it ( hidden away in a box since the
move )
I don’t remember anyone in my family having the older style
record players, but we did use to have some old 78’s. I think my
grand parents use to rely on the radio more..
Do you remember two or three way family favourites on a Sunday
morning ?

Lift up your Hearts
DIR By: Mike Waters

I commend any who might read to dwell carefully, prayerfully and
(in particular) praisefully, on the following, phase by phase.
Our Heavenly Father...
Hallowed be thy Name...
Thy Kingdom come...
Thy Will be done...
On earth...
As it is in Heaven...
Give this day our Daily Bread...
And forgive us our trespasses...
As we forgive those who trespass against us...
And lead us not into Temptation...
But deliver us from evil...
For thine is the Kingdom...
The Power...
And the Gory...
For ever and ever...
Amen (so let it be)...
How's that for a 16 part, better than any, half hour Sermon?

Do we really "Have the mind of Christ" ?
DIR By: Mike Waters

Surely there must be a sense in which we "have the mind of
Christ", but maybe no more than partially whilst we grow in
grace (which hopefully we do).
I'm with the Hymnist
’Tis now in part I know His grace;
I catch sweet glimpses of His face,
But in that better world of His,
I shall behold Him as He is.
Then shall I know as I am known,
And sing His praise before the throne;
’Tis now in part I know His love;
Bright sunbeams shine from skies above;
But glories more exceeding far,
Shall rise beyond life’s evening star.
’Tis now in part I understand
The leadings of my Father’s hand;
But I shall own His ways were right,
When welcomed to His presence bright.
’Tis now in part, but O how sweet
To rest by faith at His dear feet;
Though now we see as through a glass,
The veil will lift, the shadows pass.

Good one Mike. 💕
This is a subject we’ve gone round and round on over the years.
Paul says “we have the mind of Christ “.
And we have “ Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ
Jesus….”
Does it mean we have His mind on the matter , or does it mean He
has taken away the stony heart and given us a heart of flesh
(His) . To an extent yes …I don’t see the fullness in my own
life .
But then again , most of our walk is ‘by faith ‘ not by sight
or understanding.
But I’d have to say , the Bible itself IS a revelation of His
Mind to us…in that respect , we do indeed have the mind of
Christ!

A good question Mike, but the definition of "the mind of Christ"
to me is more than a couple of scriptures, just what was the
mindset of Jesus before he became flesh and dwelt among them,
was it changed in becoming flesh and would there be a difference
between a Jesus mindset and Christ's?
Do we have or do we just have access to His mindset.
For my twopenth, He came to do His Fathers will, and He only did
what he saw the Father do, which was accomplished through His
death, burial and resurrection. That's a pretty definitive
mindset.
Yet in the book of Phil's Paul is all over us to have this same
mind, " Let" this mind be in you, which was ALSO in Christ
Jesus" if we line that up with verse 4, 'look not every man on
his own things, but every man ALSO on the things of others' that
brings it a bit from the ethereal to where the rubber meets the
road maybe.
If a double minded man is unstable in all his ways, it's maybe
time for me to have a 5000 thought/mind check up and change my
'oil'.
