I don’t understand technology, I have heard of a docking station
but wouldn’t have a clue how to set one up !! ( Thankfully I
have my 30 year old son here, and my 19year old grand daughter
next door. Also my daughter is a whiz with computers ect )
Pleased you had a blessed Father’s Day xxxxxxx
It kind of sails me past now as my children lost their father
three years ago and my dad is no longer around. I am very
grateful that my two sons, and son in law, are great dads - it’s
a difficult job and role to have xxxxxx
How long before you get the scan results ?
Thinking of you xxxx

I can remember setting up new computers for friends who simply
could not do it. All of those friends have passed away now. For
some time now, I have been unable do such things for myself.
Fortunately the younger generation is willing and able.
I have not gotten official word on the scan yet, but generally
no news is good news. They have in the past called me right away
when there have been serious problems.

Seems like no one is chatting or discussing much here these
days. Is there a better place frequented by old friends? Please
advise.

We tried to get everyone to join in but sadly they didn’t
continue. It’s difficult to know what people really want. The
other forum just seems to be full of people who want to argue.
At least here we are civil with one another.
It’s so hot here at the moment, summer was late coming but it’s
gone from one extreme to the other. Still on Sunday I am off to
Spain and we will have a swimming pool at the villa, so I can
cool down when needed.
What’s it like where you are ?

Very hot is how it is. Yesterday we had a break from heat when a
storm came through but as is often the case it poured and
hailed. Near Oklahoma City there were straight line winds [as
opposed to tornados] at 80 to 90 miles per hour which did some
damage a caused a lot of power outages.
My son-in-law has installed a large above ground swimming pool
into which he and some of the family have used often. Kathy and
I have not tried it yet, but probably will soon as the heat is
supposed to continue.
I will continue to look in on the other forum, but I will not
engage much as the seemingly pointless arguments are not
something I am into...
Today my son will be here to take me to my cardiologist about 40
miles away. It is just a routine checkup but I expect to enjoy
the time with my son,

Hope the app went well, I can’t believe you had to travel 40
miles for a routine app, the U.K. is so small- you would only go
that far to see a specialist if the local consultants couldn’t
help, or if you went private.
I can’t wait to use the swimming pool on holiday, it’s something
I want to take up again now that I am retired. Sadly our beaches
are not good where I am, pebbles not Sandy. We have a local
swimming centre , but I haven’t been there for years.
Yes, I know what you mean about the other forum, things just go
round and round and I seldom post on many of the threads.
So will you watch the debate - I still can’t believe Biden is
allowed to run as it’s obvious that he has some form of dementia
- it’s more than just memory loss ( or at least that’s how it
looks ). They reckon Trump won’t like it as there is not an
audience !
I might have a look tomorrow morning - it’s bound to be on our
news xx

I call it routine but for us it has been worth it. We had two
cardiologists before this one since I first had a pacemaker
implanted in 2004. Neither one was able to explain exactly what
my problem was or would not take the time to do so. My
appointment today was a good one. He went over all of my lab
results as well as the results of my recent stress test. All is
OK except for my pacemaker, which I already knew. My first
pacemaker lasted from 2004 to 2012. Then they added a 2nd lead
and changed the battery. That new battery now after nearly 12
years is coming to an end. Probably one more pacemaker check in
September and then a new battery. That one likely will last the
rest of my life unless I really live on for a very long time...
My son took us out for a nice lunch at a chinese restaurant
after my appointment.
I will not watch the debates. All I will want to hear I will get
second hand from others. Probably there will be more on the
forum about it than anyone wants to hear. I will read some of
the initial remarks... then other than an occasional peak... for
the most part avoid threads about them. I remember the last
election. People naming themselves Christian are too often it
seems worse than many of the unbelievers.
I am delving into American history to keep myself busy. I have a
book on the American presidents covering every one from George
Washington to Bill Clinton [1789 to 2001]. I have done a little
reading on the presidents before on my own but this book gives a
lot of good information about each one without getting too
detailed. Later I may look for a book covering presidents from
2001 up to the present.

Pleased the app went well, is that a big op to replace the
battery ?
I remember the last election on the other forum, it was nuts !
There are not too many threads about the debate at the moment,
sure that might change.
I watched a recent documentary series about the presidents wives
through the years, it was so interesting. It wasn’t biased so it
kind of relayed facts about each president, from the prospective
of the wives.
So have you discovered anything new since reading the books, I
know media ect sometimes puts slants on things over the years
and it’s often when you read about things you can discover
things you didn’t know.
Who is your favourite president ?
One of my favourite leaders ( in my lifetime ) was a man
called John Smith - he was running for prime minister but sadly
he had a fatal heart attack. Tony Blair took over.

Changing the battery is easy. The pacemaker is simply placed
beneath the upper layers of skin. They simply deaden the skin in
that area and peel the skin back. Then it is simply out with old
battery and in with the new.
Lots of interesting notes about the various presidents. It's
been several years since I read my last book on the presidents.
I did take notes and have them on my computer.
Usually, it seems to me the historians do better with the
presidents of long ago than with the more recent one because
they rarely have any political involvement themselves. It is
easier to be objective. My favorite has always been Abraham
Lincoln. This true on what I knew be doing any special reading
and I did not change my afterward.
You mention one leader that died being a favorite of yours and
it reminds me of John F Kennedy. He was president when I joined
the army in August of 1963. I was attending a U.S. Army radio
school in New Jersey when he was assassinated that following
November. I liked him and wonder how different our history might
have been if he had lived.

Good luck on the other forums, You seem to stay in your corner
the rest of us use ‘happy postings’’ and both Rita and Mike put
up some good posts but brought no response from you Bro, hope
you find what you are looking for.
Glad your medical stuff went well.
