Re: Amadeus' Corner (Reinstated)

Wow, it seems like forever since I have been here. Perhaps no
one else is even reading, but what do I know? We have been
comfortably established in our daughter's home for a little over
a year now. At the moment our son-in-law is having surgery at a
hospital near Oklahoma City so my wife and I are here alone with
the tiny dog of the house. We are not quite like our daughter is
to him, but he being very much a people dog is happy to have us.
The family are supposed to be home tomorrow [Wednesday].

Hi Amadeus
I didn’t realise you had moved in with your Daughter and
Son-in-law law, that’s quite a transition. Pleased it is working
out okay for you xxxxx
So how far did you have to move ( are you in the same state or
moved out of one and in to another - the USA just seems so big
compared to the U.K. so if you have moved states it would be
like moving to another country for me )
I know your son is recovering okay, hope that is continuing.
Me and my youngest son moved to a smaller home next door to my
daughter last year, don’t miss the old house at all, or the area
which surprised me because we were surrounded by the South Downs
and now we are in a built up town!
What about you, do you miss anything or is where you are living
now in a similar kind of environment?
Just being nosey xxxxxxx
It is nice to see you here Amadeus - how is yours and Kathy’s
Health ?
Xxxxx

Hello Rita,
Sorry to be so slow to respond. The truth is I lose track of
time. I only just remembered that I had written something here
and just now read your response to me. We remain in Oklahoma but
in a different city very close to Kansas-Oklahoma state line. We
are as I said with our daughter. Our son lives to the north of
us in Kansas less than 50 miles away.
We really have blended well living in our daughter's home. They
gave us one end of the home. One bedroom is where Kathy spends a
lot of time sewing and watching a little TV. The other bedroom
was made into a study for me. I am there most of the time during
the day reading, watching TV or spending a little time on the
computer.
We haven't gone out much during the Winter. Now with better
weather, we've gone to a few garage sales and we go out to ear
once in a while. Both of us still have lots of ailments, but at
the moment nothing ser ious.

Still no one lurking around here, eh...? That's OK. I'll check
in periodically just in case. Give God the glory1

I missed your reply, I tend to just check one thread on here and
forget to check the rest, usually because no one else posts in
their own corners much these days.
Pleased it’s all working out for you all and that you both have
your own space, I find this is such a blessing and always needed
( no matter who we all live with )
Dan and I would feel frazzled if we were under each others feet
all the time , so our own rooms have become our sanctuary.
Considering he is 30 and I am 66 we get on really well, but his
likes are not my likes ( especially with social media,tv and
music !!!!! lol )
When we were recently decorating together ( he does the things I
can’t do anymore ) we were trying to find music we could both
listen to - I think we settled on Take That ( British band ) and
music from ‘ Stranger things ‘
Hope you enjoy the nicer weather xxxxxxx

Hello again, Rita.
This is a busy week for me. I went out of town yesterday for the
first part of a stress test. I will do the second part tomorrow
[Wedneday]. I see my family doctor on Thursday and the eye
doctor on Friday. On Wednesday I also need to do a selftest of
my pacemaker and send that in to the he heart doctor. For the
out of town tests I never go alone as I am not much for driving
any distance. I tire easily.
I will talk to you more later

So far all is well from the tests. They did a PET scan which
scans the whole body for cancer. I haven't heard the results of
that one yet.
Yesterday was Father's Day here. They bought me a new much
larger screen for my computer along with what they call a
Docking Station. The screen is really nice for the old eyes. My
two great granddaughters were here. The older one is nearly 4
years old and the baby is just 10 days old, The older one is a
beast, and the other is a little doll. Hopefully the beastly
part will pass away while I'm still here to see it.
We have connected with a nearby Senior Center which has a nice
well balanced lunch Mon through Friday for only $5.00 a person,
They also have tables game 2 days a week.

Health wise plus old age suggests that a Docking Station is the
very thing that I could do with.

When trying to set it up for me my son-in-law discovered it was
not compatible with the laptop I bought last year. He is taking
it back to exchange for a correct one. He's a good fellow but
quite a procrastinator. Hopefully he will get it done soon. I am
waiting patiently.
