Rita we not battling the elements but the ‘flu virus’ donated by
my ex-squash buddy as a Xmas gift, would value a bit of prayer
especially for Helen🙏🏼🙏🏼.
We have seen pic’s of the English weather, comes under the
heading of brutal I think, is there an end in sight?
If lazyitus departs I’ll ring Helen’s brother in Hastings and
get a local update, sad to see some big trees have fallen, when
my Mum was alive in a care home I think about 1987, all then big
trees in the grounds were uprooted she told me when I phoned
her, they had had benches under many of them.
I did see some pictures of the wind and rain at Brighton, they
showed people on the beach front being covered by the sea spray,
no comment, as I’ve been there and done that at Bexhill sea
front and the flooding in many counties, we do know something of
the effects of flooding, as we had the great flood a few years
back, emotionally devastating as well as physically devastating.
At that time the city spent millions on a new flood prevention
system, being a bit sarckky, the flood was no respect of persons
as the water entered the rich and the not so rich homes.
At the moment I’m a highly enlightened geriatric on mucus and
the multitudes of gramma’s recipe for treatment of said
stuff🤔🤔.
I can’t say I’m adherent of the virus thing, I think if I’d been
a horse they would have shot me this week, they used to tube
wheezing 🐎🐎🐎 racehorses back in the day
and one had to pull it out of the neck and clean it each day,
never have liked mucus, I looked after one named Mailed Fist,
wow!!!! the old greys are really getting a workout this morning,
that was in 1953.
I have finished my little book “ More the Sparrows” a great
read, if lethargy and lazyitus would be replaced by “the same
Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead” I would share some of
my highlights but at the moment leth’ and lazy are still come
over me, the overcomer’s company have left me in their dust, how
that scripture “ Doctor heal thyself” rings in my ears, gave up
on using the biblical word as I couldn’t spell it right.
As to a new year; I seemed to have dragged the old one with me,
definitely a woe is me morning, BUT the light has to get
brighter as the day goes on, every affliction is light in the
concept of the “glory” to be yet revealed.
I wonder if Jesus had these mornings??
I wonder if M and C got blown away in Norfolk and Ray and Pat’s
roof stood the weather test, all questions and no
answers🤣😇🤣, do I hear the sweet refrains
of “ I’m singing in the rain” echoing from
Brighton😇😇😇.
Physician, there I made
it🤔🤔☕️☕️☕️time.

So sorry to hear that you are both fighting the flu virus, it’s
a nasty one this year. Have so far avoided it, but my son and
friends at work got it bad. I just caught a cold and throat
thing, but very mild. Sadly I think it takes a couple of weeks
to overcome - thinking of you both xxxxxxxxxx

Yes, the storms have hit hard in places, but as I am no longer
on high ground it doesn’t sound as bad. Flooding has hit in many
areas.
I remember the storm of 1987, our first hurricane. I was in
hospital recovering from an op. It was Sarah’s 5th birthday.
Ever since that year we always have stronger winds in the
autumn/ winter x

Thanks for your prayers for Helen and I, like the boat to China
it's being a slow process.
Scripture says, 'He will do a quick work in the last days' I
could have done with a bit of the 'quick' this past week.
Calgary weather update, Winter swept in last night, so I was
manning the S shovel today, after I'd done mine, I fired up the
latent snowblower, took me forever to remember how you do it as
I never used it last year, but it fired up in spite of me and I
blew off all up our street and did a ninety at the top and went
as far up until I met met where people had done theirs.
Winter it seems will continue this week with a nasty temp' drop
at the weekend but the snow has helped our ski hills, why it
can't just always dump there unfortunately that is not a
mystery.
I did wonder how Mike was faring weather wise, plus his and
Christine's health issues, as they say 'It never rains but it
pours' I think Ray and Pat would be all right for the flooding
bit, Robins daughter keeps me abreast as to her neck of the
woods.
In Matt 15 Jesus poses a verse to the disciples in 'Take heed
and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.
To me the disciples reasoning is a little odd, because the
'leaven' to them brought the fact to the foremost concerning
they had no bread, they then get the little faith reminder of
the five and four thousand; in Marks account he says they had
one loaf which would
equate to a roll, that one roll would have fed them all in the
boat with leftovers but like them faith has a certain fluidity
it seems. Sometimes it's like the song says, we just have to
count and name our many blessings one by one. TBC, as time flies
when you are having fun.
Have a blessed week Saints. All typing and spelling errors come
free of charge. To tired to check tonight.

Just had an email reminder of my appointment with the medical
centre this morning. Unfortunately they haven't reminded me of
why I had asked for the appointment. I shall just have to turn
up blank faced and hope the doctor can guess what I'm there for.

Hi Mike
I guess it depends on whether they requested the app or you did,
hopefully they took notes if you requested it ( they usually ask
why you need an app where I go ) xxxxx

Hi Dave
The flooding has been awful, now snow is heading in to many of
those places. It’s suppose to snow here today, first time I
haven’t got to worry about getting stuck at work. We won’t get
much though, it’s usually worse as you go further north.
The disciples and the leaven bread has always baffled me a
little bit, but I presume it is about spiritual food and how it
can feed so many, but how false teaching can spoil the food.
Sarah got me ‘ conversations with God ‘ for Christmas, four
books.
I can’t work out if what he writes is from God, so in turn I am
having my own conversations with God - have you ever heard of
the books ?
Sarah brought ‘ The message ‘ the other day ……..which I find
interesting, she mentioned it to Dan. I am hoping that our
discussions will re used to rekindle what she once had. Church
turned her completely off with their attitudes and lack of
support and understanding of her circumstances. Like me, she
would find it hard to go back. I listen to online services from
the church in Brighton but I could never go back to being an
official member in a denomination.
Hope this week brings more healing from the virus, my son goes
back to work today and he still isn’t completely over it ( three
weeks now )
Xxxxxx

From the called and frozen, -41 with wind chill today here in
Calgary.
The good news; colder tomorrow
😶‍🌫️🥶😶‍🌫️.
Rita as we are listed as diversity, my diverse is found in 1 Sam
14vs 2, this was from our reading and what strikes one is that
King Saul is found sitting under a Pomegranate tree, so why the
significance of mentioning what kind of tree it was, why not
just ‘a tree’ natural Israel and the pomegranates have a
definite link, they made up part of the hem of the High priest’s
garment, they signify an assortment of types, it consists of a
tough outer skin and seeds, it really has no flesh only seeds,
again a good typology.
While King Saul is parked under the tree, Jonathon his son and
his armour bearer go by faith to check on the Philistines,
interestingly there are only two swords in all of Israel and
Johnathan has one, his armour bearer has no weapon but faith in
his master.
Their journey to victory is beset with ups and downs but
Johnathon has faith that God will confirm that they are in the
right way and victory will be theirs, all the while King Saul is
parked under the Pomegranate tree, the moral seems to be, as
nice as your situation might be, don’t park there.
The just shall live by His “faith”.
Still working on the ‘leaven’ 😉🤔😉.

Good morning Dave -41 and lower , I actually cannot imagine how
that must feel. Over here - 2 throws the whole country !!!!!!!
I do remember much lower temps as a kid though, and deep snow
most of the winter months. As a child it was fun, not sure it
was for my mum and dad.
How are you and Helen feeling ?
The thoughts about the pomegranate tree were really interesting,
never really consider that when I have read the story. X
I finally have my occupational therapy app today, so this may
lead to me being released from my contract on medical grounds.
Not sure it will impact much now as the doctor is happy to sign
me off until I retire.
