Hi Dave,
Still pondering your words on the word ‘all ‘ and I loved the
memories regarding the chestnuts. The only memory I have is Jeff
putting them into our open fire and them becoming lethal weapons
!!!!!!!
I have often wondered what happened with the shepherds, and the
wisemen, after those early years encountering angels, the star
and eventually finding Jesus. Wonder if they would be classed as
‘ coming to know him ‘ - after all they trusted in the words
spoken to them and in who Jesus was……….
Sometimes I wish we had more memories of that time frame with
regards to how these very important people were, no names but
the extremes within society being part of the biblical
narrative.

Looking at Phillipians chapter four, Paul’s statement about ‘
meeting all your needs ‘ comes after he has conveyed they had
generously given to him. Giving can bring its own form of
anxiety at times because often a sacrifice is being made that
depleats one’s own supplies ( financial or otherwise ). The ‘
all your needs ‘ could relate to the double knowledge that when
we give we need to equally trust that our needs will also be
met…………
I can admit to experiencing anxiety about giving at times ,
finances and trust is something I know I lack at times x

IF THERE BE A 'GOD' (AND I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS) THEN HE JUST
HAS TO BE CREATOR OF ALL EVIDENCED FORMS OF MANKIND. AND THAT
HAS TO EMBRACE ALL THOSE KNOWN TO HAVE INHABITED THE FAR EASTERN
ANTIPATHY OF THE 'MEDITERRANEAN'; TOGETHER WITH ALL THOSE WHO,
BY REASON OF PREMATURE DEATH, GEOGRAPHICAL ISOLOTION, OR MEDICAL
INCAPACITY, WILL NEVER HEAR "THE GOSPEL MESSAGE". ~~~~JESUS SAID
"OTHER SHEEP I HAVE WHICH ARE NOT OF THIS FOLD; THEM ALSO I MUST
BRING IN ~~~~UNTIL THERE SHALL BE ONLY ONE FLOCK."

That'll preach Mike, what is not to like in God's Good
News!!!!!!!.
Many in Israel consider the book of Ruth to be the greatest love
story in the old covenant scripture, Ruth had seen something in
Naomi even in a time of great loss and trouble, that the 'Lord
is our strength IN the time of trouble' even if our demeanior
(outward behavior or bearing) suggest otherwise.
It seems in this dispensation of what we call today, the church
in general does not 'see' trouble as a 'friend' the thought of
embracing trouble as one does a friend it seems, is not good
news. '---------and Ruth clave/embraced unto Naomi.
And she embarked on a journey like no other.
Orpah kissed and left 'trouble' and is heard of no more.
For this Ruth in chp 1 vs 16 ends with'---------- and thy God,
my God' reminiscent of the verse in Hosea 2vs 23 ---------- and
I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy: and I
will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people;
and they shall say, thou art my God'
Paul wrote in 2Cor4 '----troubled on every side, yet not
distressed,--perplexed, but not in despair because we have a
treasure in an earthen vessel' "For our light "trouble",
which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding,
eternal weight of glory"
Trouble is only trouble when it affects our heart.
Thanks for that Mike, hopefully Christine has got over her
tumble.
" ALL" what an inclusive little three letter word.
Rita are you now safely gathered in, ere the winter storms
begin, orientate me in where you are located in relation to the
Lanes?
I'm fully recovered from the birthday festivities and looking
forward to Xmas pleasures, we had a pre-view copy of my grand
daughters first book print, Helen has just started reading it,
when it formally comes out I'll send you one.
An overcast day today with wet snow falling, but still very
mild, the American gang are all heading here for Xmas, and the
festivities will start with a Murder Mystery at my daughters,
that should be a hoot, as we have to stay in 'character' all
day, Helen is boning up her German accent.GtG it's suppertime as
the old song says.

I do love the story of Ruth, in many respects ‘ trouble ‘ in her
case was sacrifice for the sake of not allowing her mother in
law to be alone. She was willing to leave all those held dear
for one persons needs. For me it shows how God knits things
together to bring about his plans.
Not really many storms felt here, no longer on the highest
ground in Brighton which were often battered by high winds off
the coast and the downs. It has been wet at times but now that
I don’t have to go to work I can pick which days to go out xxx
Still no success with my internet, they know what is wrong but
it’s taking time to sort out, the simply official approval and
authorisation of our phone line. Somehow it wasn’t done when we
original change addresses.
Dan picked up a virus from his young niece and nephew when they
came down last weekend, how lovely it is to enjoy busy days
without worrying about work the next day. I am using a nasal
spray called ‘ first defence ‘ it holds any virus in one place
while your body fights it off ( prevent it multiplying and
creating all the other symptoms ) you have to catch it at the
right time though. Time will tell if I have managed that.
Somehow I think there is a spiritual truth in that somewhere’
first defence ‘ should be going to the Lord ………otherwise all the
horrible symptoms of fighting all those emotions and responses
to situations increase and take hold and knock us for six
!!!!!!!

Good 'luck' on your questions Rita, it seems answers to
questions on sites is one of the odd phenom's about them.
What a do on your hook up, is it just you or common to all who
made the great transition?
One feels that if one is using the same provider it would just
be a case of unplug and replug in at new address but nothing is
simple it seems in todays world.
We prayed for Dan for a speedy no symptoms recovery, I liked the
thoughts on "First Defence"
but at times the road of least resistance is "reach for the pill
bottle" either homeopathic or otherwise.
Gone it seems are the days of plain old trusting the Lord
without pills and potions, guilty as charged.
Maybe as one ages the 'fear' of death is larger than when one
was first a believer, I like Luke's report 5-15 about why the
crowd came to the Jesus meeting, "they came together to HEAR,
and to be HEALED by HIM of their infirmities"
I listened to a tent preacher the other night who used this
scripture in one of his meetings, and he said, 'when I had
finished reading this scripture, during it I had noticed two
ladies had talked all through the reading, so I went and
confronted them and said "I was brought up not to speak when
someone else is speaking" the one lady laughed and said, 'what
you don't understand is; the friend I brought is totally deaf in
one ear and while you were reading Lk 5-15 she poked me and said
"my ear is totally healed"
Am I one who wants the healing without the hearing?????
Helen and I's progression through the scriptures has been to
leave Ruth and Naomi with a son from whom 'the Christ' line
would come, she was a grafted in one.
And we leave the two ladies in Ruth for Hannah in 1Sam.
We will catch you before the Xmas festivities begin, I'm tasked
with finding the Brussel sprouts for the 25th day dinner for the
gang, years ago my dad would leave them on the stalks and people
took them stalk and all, like the church it was by a freewill
offering or just free.

Good Morning xx
Hope the hunt for the Brussels sprouts goes well, I already have
mine in the freezer. Although I don’t have to cook on Christmas
Day or Boxing Day so Dan and I will have a roast dinner later in
the week after Christmas. Also haven’t wasted my money on Turkey
as we were gifted a rather large leg of lamb ( also in the
freezer ).
Dan sadly does have symptoms, but think it has peaked.
The ‘ reaching for meds ‘ is a difficult one because man has
been given the power to learn and make discoveries, so surely
healing can still come through those gifts - back in the day
they didn’t have those. Although the women who had used all her
money and gone through all the doctors was still healed when she
went to Jesus as a last resort …………
I can relate to the fear of death growing as you get older, but
I find it is more the ‘ when ‘ and the ‘how ‘ that I fear. There
are no guarantees for a ‘ good ‘ death with Christian’s , so I
find it difficult to know how to really deal with it, or should
I say, to have peace with it.
Yes you would think that connecting to the internet when you
move would be simple, or at least a reasonably quick process.
Here we are four weeks down the line and still it’s not
happening. I am a premier customer with Sky as I have been with
them for over ten years , don’t really want to lose that status
but it’s getting to the point where I may have to choose the
option to leave and go with someone else ( but it’s a gamble as
we may have the same issues ) so I honestly don’t know what to
do.
Have a blessed day xx
Rita

Here's a bit of enlightened reading for Helen

The result of pondering whilst confined to bed following a very
painful fall.

Thanks for that Mike
We read it, good argument, but We did both feel that to many
words detracted a bit from the article, but thanks anyway.
Every blessing. We are praying that you both are strong and
healthy enough , without pain , to enjoy the Christmas period .
To God be the glory , as our friend Amadeus says.
