Apologies Dave, yes you did mention the player that had died.
Between reading your post and writing mine that fact had gone (
oh dear that’s not good is it - the old grey cells declining as
well )
I hate the conflict in both Ukraine and Gaza. I think it
actually bothers me more when Christians seem to have no sadness
about Muslims being bombed and blindly support the Jews because
of who they are, it’s as if they can’t see any wrong in one
group.
I felt for all the young Russian soldiers forced to fight in the
Ukraine , well and the young Solders in the Ukraine. There are
no winners and it’s all down to higher human powers reacting and
the ultimate real battle that is going on in the Spiritual
realm………..
‘ The rejected wife ‘ never really thought about that, but do
see a whole lot of revenge taking place……….human reactions and
emotions, not a good mix.
How was the match?
So is ice hockey the same as ordinary hockey - only ever played
that a couple of times at school and was hopeless !!!!!
Hope Helen is okay, did ask after her on her thread here but
haven’t seen a reply - haven’t checked today yet.
Well a day off and hopefully getting rubbish taken, then it’s
down to cleaning the place……………only two weeks to go.

Rita, Hockey🤬🤬🤬our team,I wasted the
afternoon watching them lose their 8th game out of ten
yesterday. I’ve never played it as the ‘ice bit’ does add a
different flavor!!!!!L
Field hockey I played in the Army, it always turned out to be
really a ‘war game’ disguised by the term, a friendly game of
hockey.
The last school I was at the hockey girls had to troop past us
on their way to the field, the hockey skirts rolled up were a
winner😇😇😇.
So moving is down to 14 days, are you mostly packed and ready to
rock and roll can you make it in one go???
In scoping out “Compassion” biblically it is very different from
having empathy in a situation, in the related parable of the
waiting father, it says ‘he had compassion’ it seems the term
‘gut wrenching’ is how compassion is best described but it is
always supplemented with a following action, the feeding of the
5000 comes to mind.
My conclusion is that I don’t have a lot of compassion, I must
not have Quaker blood I would be one of the pullers off the road
in with the ‘Stop oil’ lot, who spray paint buildings and
artifacts and stop people from working but they are just the
cannon fodder before the main event, illegal migration has
deposited enough migrants to recreate a scene like what happened
in Israel in many countries, one wonders how our countries would
respond, kill and destroy has always been on the Muslim menu …(
the Jew first , then Christian..) in their appetizers bit.
I just had my two year medical check up, to renew my drivers
license, we have an English lady doctor and they give you an eye
test, a blood pressure thing and the ‘scope to see I’m still
breathing, then some cognitive stuff, the one I like is the hand
squeezing😉 I was glad the blood pressure’s is done
before🙃🙃, so ‘ Just stop oil’ look out!!!!
Got to take a break, my grand daughters just arrived, but thanks
for the “ compassion” study👍👍👍.
Rita! I do like the internet for ‘word’ references, it far
surpasses the methodical Strongs, and Young’s which weighed a
100lbs give or take a pound.
Plus some individuals give their own 2cents which adds a fresh
concept most sometimes.
Our clocks went back last night I waited until this morning, ate
breakfast at nine, then changed the clock and lo, nine came a
second time, which is my usual brekky
time😋😉😋 a two for one.
How is Susan coping at the moment, why do we live in such
stressful times, are they inheriting it or making their own?
It’ll be a bonus for her to have you nearby.
Any Christmas plans on the horizon, we shall gather at my
daughters and it includes a murder mystery, I’m hoping for the
victim role, as being tone deaf in a herd of people doesn’t help
and I’ve never really been a team player in family games, I put
it down to ‘only child syndrome’🤣🤣🤣 and
not wanting to appear foolish, Helen comes from a long line of
‘let’s play party games’ and my youngest daughter has inherited
the apple which doesn’t fall far from the tree thing.
But all for one or one for all as they say.xx

We had to play hockey at school and I absolutely hated it. Most
of the other girls had their own sticks and boots but my parents
wouldn't buy me any so I had to play in my ordinary shoes and if
it was muddy, which it usually was, my shoes were so full of it
after the 'game' that it was uncomfortable walking home with the
mud clinging to the soles.

Good morning Dave and Pat
Oh Hockey, I just remember getting belted on the ankles with the
sticks. It was definitely a game that allowed for a few wars to
be won, but sadly it was often the bullied who won. I never
played much to warrant having to get special shoes ect. I use to
be able to ice skate quite well, not I can’t balance on the ice
to save my life - at least ice hockey players appear to be well
padded !!
Sorry about the match loses Dave - so much better to enjoy the
game when your team is winning or doing well in the league. So
do they usually do so badly or is this season unusual !?
Compassion verse empathy - yes I think they are different. I
guess the Lord lays different things on peoples heart at times,
and I do believe the normal everyday person caught up in
conflict should be prayed for, however i do understand what you
say about us all potentially facing the same scenario in the
future.
Dan and I often have discussions about that side of things, he
can’t see it happening. I sadly don’t agree with him.
Sarah is doing okay, she is completely off the opioids and in
her right mind ( So to speak ) She still has some things to deal
with but is definitely not where she was earlier in the year. We
hope to start a Bible study up when I am next door, Sarah’s idea
some months ago.
Mostly all packed up now, will start cleaning the rooms this
week. All the rubbish has gone, repairs done and all sorting out
achieved. So what is here is what we will take with us. Also
counting down my last 7 shifts ( three this week and the
following week, and then just one shift after I have moved )
This was my last weekend of working.
Christmas, so looking forward to it this year. Christmas Eve
with Sarah ,Marc, and Emma , Christmas Day with Mark, Hayley and
Olivia and Boxing Day with Dave, Stacey , Able and Isla
…..first time in over 12 years that i will see all my children
over Christmas. Work has always got in the way…………..
I haven’t had a health check for ages , I do my own blood
pressure every now and again. oh I can well imagine the ‘ stop
oil ‘ campaigners raising the anger levels ect. There tactics do
little to gain them any sympathy, empathy or compassion !!!!!!!!
On that note I think I need a cuppa !

It got pretty bad down here for a few days , thankfully I had

It’s been quite calm and sunny the last few days x

Apologies, how time flies when you are busy doing nothing.
Psalm 50 a Psalm of Asaph, in Psalm 73 this man Asaph scribes
how he feels in his service to God, "But as for me, my feet were
almost gone, my steps had well nigh slipped, for I was envious
at the foolish. I saw the prosperity of the wicked." Asaph was a
singer,a musician who served in the temple worship and a writer
of some of the book of psalms, he looks at the wicked and sees
no change, and then becomes envious at his lack of prosperity as
a servant of the Lord, "been there and done that" you either
call for a light or you take the slippery path, in my little
circle many have taken the path that doesn't lead to the light
that shineth unto-------. but not our man Asaph he writes "
Truly God is good to------in his first verse and ends with "but
it is 'good' for "me" to draw near to God.
A long gone pastor mate who's answer for challenges in this
walk, was a part verse from Ps 50, it's the vegan special,
--------------, and the cattle upon a thousand hills' and he
would remind the Lord about that scripture and add; but a steak
on the plate is what we need now.
I heard this story last week, A man seeks for a meeting with his
pastor, and in the meeting relates he can't sleep at night for
fear that there is someone under the bed, the pastor counsels
that he should see the church Psychiatrist, the man leaves the
meeting thinking, two sessions a week 60 bucks a session, 240 a
month, on his home journey he meets a neighbour and shares his
dilemma, the pastor goes and visits him and asks how he is, he
says great, I sleep like a log, PTL says the pastor, so the
psychiatrist was the answer then, the man said no, 'what was it
the pastor asked?', the man said on my way home I met a
neighbour and I shared my dilemma and he said, 'saw the legs off
your bed then no one can get under it' problem solved.
A couple of prayer requests, a christian nurse up the road has a
double hip replacement surgery this week and my pastor mate gets
his lymph-node cancer report on Friday to see if it has spread,
lets agree together for the God who is good, will be good in
both of these needs.

Good morning Dave,
Not sure I chase prosperity that much anymore, although in some
subtle ways at times perhaps we all do. Never really been into
the prosperity Christianity as scripture doesn’t really support
it. As for the wicked being prosperous, I kind of know that this
life is short and none of the greedy and wicked can take
anything with them. They strive for more, but they are never
contented.
I would rather be content inside with what I do and have, not
sure I always felt that way- so I must have grown in some ways
over the years !!! Lol
Love the story about the bed xxxxxx
Have prayed for the nurse and the pastors report on Friday. A
workmate found out a friend of hers has terminal ovarian cancer
yesterday, she is only 52. Problem is it is not easily detected
until it has already reached an advanced stage.
I will lose my internet for about five days while I wait for Sky
to come in and reconnect at the new address……..
2 more shifts at work, one Thursday and my last one Tuesday.
Signing contracts tomorrow. Then it will be the chaos of moving
in while others are moving out on sat.
Hope you and Helen are okay, I did ask Helen how she was but
sadly it seems it’s only you and me here at the moment !!!

Hello other green bottle😇😇 Rita thanks for added
prayers, The bro has recently remarried and we have been friends
for many years, Christian wise and work wise, he and his first
wife came to our church meetings way back when because we moved
in body ministry, those were the days, and they pastored an Elim
church in the city, I talked to him yesterday and he is in a
good place of peace as to the situation.
Helen’s doing good, keeps me busy prayerwise, she blames Mike
for the demise of his site, it seems Christian sites have a
tendency for leaders not to lead and followers fail for lack of
interest or something like that🤔🤔.
We used to sing a song, ‘The move is on my friends, the move is
on————‘ praying it all works out well for you and Dan and all
the others.
One of my fav’ books is Amos, where the Lord makes Amos a
prophet to his people, and tells him that he the Lord, ‘Truly
the Lord God will not do anything unless He has revealed His
secret to his servants the prophets’ He also tells him, He will
send a famine not of bread or thirst but of hearing the ‘words’
of the Lord, so we have a “secret” hidden and a famine of
hearing, sounds a bit like today, Jesus said to the religious in
his day, ye have eyes and see not and ears that hear not, they
in that day were in famine mode, no lack of the Word just a
hearing problem, it seems today we have a lot of preaching and
many listening but for me it’s still a famine time.
GtG, TBC blessings to all.

Good morning Dave,
I think we are all responsible for keeping forum life going, but
not sure I can put blame on your shoulders as you always post
interesting things. I must admit that I have been in a bit of a
fog spiritually for ages, think it’s just trying to get the move
and work sorted. I am still reading the daily readings that
delve into the original Hebrew words, sometimes there are things
that I want to share but then tiredness creeps in ………
One of the things high on my list once I leave work and moved is
to really get back into Gods word. I use to love delving into a
study.
I can’t say I have read Amos that often, perhaps I will start
with him next week xx
I can’t really say whether there is a famine for hearing , I
mean I don’t move in church life anymore and I only really have
contact with Christians here and on the other forum. I find that
there does seem to be a famine of openness , everyone there
seems to have set thoughts on everything and just presume that
they are right and don’t need to reflect on the subject anymore,
but they do need to preach and shout at others who don’t agree
!!!!!! ( I guess in order to be open you have to be willing to
listen , so it’s is linked to deafness )
I find that as I head to leave work there is little desire to
return to church life ( something I thought perhaps I would do )
all the niggles that led me to leave are still there, so I am
not sure I could function ‘ as a member ‘ anywhere without
feeling frustrated about all the man made rules, divisions and
denomination battles !
Well it’s my last full shift in the laundry today, after signing
the contracts for the house…………then it’s disconnecting
everything tomorrow ready for a early start on Saturday, then I
can relax a bit as I can take my time to get organised.
Send my ‘ hello ‘ to Helen xx
By the way my home telephone number will be changing , won’t
know the new one until sky set up next week - so draw a line
through my number wherever you have it stored x

Just slurping down my belated first coffee and toast, after
shovelling condensed rain that blessed us last night.
Spiritual fog that's an interesting phrase, the before covid
group I went too that met in the school, have now regrouped on a
Sunday afternoon, so I thought I'd pop along but going to a
meeting at three on a Sunday afternoon seems to have disappeared
in a fog.
At one time we divided the saints into spiritual and fleshly,
but I think we've always been a bit of both, going to church
certainly boosted at times the spiritual, but a good flop into
my chair and a 'Doc Martin' with a bar of Cadbury's milk choc'
also works.
Maybe I'm not foggy, only spiritually lethargic where 'modern
church' is concerned.
Amos Rita is a pertinent book in my opinion, as the Lord takes a
herder of sheep and gives him a message of hope for his people,
early in his discourse he establishes that to walk together you
have to be agreed, does that mean one size fits all?, what
constitutes agreement, the multitude of denominations in
christianity speaks as a testimony of not agreeing, does that
make one right and the other wrong!! the adage, 'we can agree to
dis-agree:' does that fit this scripture which is posed as a
question, as a wiser than I said in an answer to a question
'Lord thou knowest'
Interestingly the 'famine' is instigated by the Lord and it's
not that there isn't 'words of the Lord' it's just the h'ear'
thing, the next verse goes on to say 'thou one wanders, and runs
to seek the word of the Lord, they won't find.
I liked your line "to be open, you have to listen"
The scripture in Amos speaks " Surely the Lord God will do
nothing, but he revealeth his 'secret' unto his servants the
prophets" the question being 'what is the secret?'
And do the 'modern day prophets' play a part in these last days?
If one believes they ended at the end of Acts, what 'secret' did
they reveal before they ended?
Helen says Hi and hopes all will go smoothly in the great move
and Phone number has been duly deleted.
So it's the 'last days' of work, do you think it will be a lot
of adjustments on your part or will you just breeze into new
found liberty, keep us posted when you are all Sky'ed again.
I shall now look up the ramifications on the word 'agreed' I
would now insert smileys but no smileys it appears to insert, I
wonder how Chris and Mike are doing health wise.
