       Hi,
I am looking for some advice. I am after a u1300 for a camper
like so many before me. If anyone can help with the following I
       would be appreciative
Lhd conversions. Is it just atkinson vos who do the conversions
or can you buy the parts direct from mb
How can you tell the real mileage if they only have 5 digits on
       the clock.
What spares and tools should be carried if you are going on a
       long journey.
Has anyone bought a vehicle in the EU and bought it back. Are
you OK to insure and drive back.?
       Many Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome, I presume you mean 1300l as a 1300 is a very
different machine and the 1300l is a popular Unimog for camper
       conversion.
The parts for steering conversion are Mercedes but you will
struggle to buy them cheaply. I prosume your wanting right hand
drive ? Personally I prefere left hand drive as the linkage is
on the left and the right hand drive lever is bloody awfull I
have a right hand drive 1550L and if I could be bothered I’d
       change it over.
Go by engine hours on a Unimog not miles or KpH if it’s a Unimog
generally a hour meter on the front of the engine later Unimogs
       in the cab.
Spares that’s something you’ll learn after owner said Unimog but
the minimum is fuel filters x 10 and hub seals to start with.
Yes you can or could until brexit buy and import into UK I’ve
not done it since brexit there’s some nice Singapore 1300l for
sale at the moment high spec and rare to find now, there’s going
to a shortage of old fashioned field repairable Unimogs in the
       years to come.
       Have fun unimoging

Thanks for the advice much appreciated.
I have found a mog to buy but because of lock down cannot get
abroad. But am very hopeful of driving a mog very soon.
       Thanks guys
